:) Quote of the Week

What if thou hadst committed the sins of a thousand?
What if thou hadst committed the sins of a million worlds?
Christ's righteousness will cover,
Christ's blood will cleanse thee from the guilt of all.

Morning Devotional...

Peter's First Sermon
Acts 2:14-40 NLT

Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.  These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning!  No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

"'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
  and they will prophesy.
I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness
  and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

"Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.  This man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.  But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.  David said about him:

"'I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
  I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest in hope,
because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
you will not let your holy one see decay.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.'

"Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day.  But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.  Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.  God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it.  Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.  For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,

"'The Lord said to my Lord:
  "Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
  a footstool for your feet."'

"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah."

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation."

Peter had been an unstable leader during Jesus' ministry, letting his bravado be his downfall, even denying that he knew Jesus.  But Christ forgave and restored Peter after his denial.  This was a new Peter, humble but bold.  His confidence came from the Holy Spirit, who made him a powerful and dynamic speaker.

Have you ever felt as though you've made such bad mistakes that God could never forgive and use you?

No matter what sins you have committed, God says he will forgive you and make you useful for his Kingdom.  Confess your sins and allow God to use you effectively to serve him.

Thank you Etta Sue for Peter's first sermon, I love that passage in the  Bible, it always reminds me that no matter what I have done in the past that I am forgiven just as Peter was forgiven and the the Holy Spirit is  alive and well inside me.

Today was a quiet day here at our house, I did give Happy a bath and launder the towels. I discovered that he still has some of the flakes from the skin fungus on his skin. I was so hoping he could get off that fungus medication. I worry about it s effects on his liver and kidneys. He goes back to the vet on the 4th for blood work to check that and his thyroid levels. The Vet has praised me for the good care I have given to my dogs  mainly Happy whom he has seen every month for the past year.

I hope and pray everyone has had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday with family and/or friends.

Thanks Etta Sue

Larry:   Your words of encouragement are so very powerful.

We had a little busier day as Sue, Bruce and their dog Noelle came for dinner. Noelle is such a loving and obedient dog. Yes Noelle did have her treats.

Mel's arm is still weak and this was one of down days even the weight of a full cup of coffee was too much.

Scheduled Maintenance Tonight

I posted an announcement HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=11713.0) telling us the site will be down for several hours as they do maintenance on our server.
Title: Re: Thoughts for the Week~April 24

Pray that maintenance will go well and proper.

I read posts but did not take notes.
Bonesy:  It sounds exciting that you have a new truck.  Take care.

Ruth:  Hugs to you, sorry about Mel's arm giving him problems.

Most of the family made it here for Easter dinner.  We are always grateful when they call and want to drive over to spend time with us.  They have planned a Mother's Day gathering as well so we feel so blessed.

Two extra busy weeks ahead and perhaps more company but they have to give me a date as we do have some plans with friends & family.

We watched an interesting story of the lost book of Thomas on t.v.  They just keep discovering more and more all the time and science now shows how the waters parted when Moses led his people to safety.  Amazing - it should be headline news.

Etta Sue:  Thankful for your message.  Wonderful to be given such grace.

Hi everyone.  A quick message this morning before coffee.  Either the maintenance went very well and is over or it hasn't begun yet.  I was surprised when I click on my link to here and was immediately taken to the site.

We had a lovely church service yesterday.  The anthem was powerful, the sermon was powerful and the Hallelujah Chorus was powerful.  We were glad to come home right after the service, have a quick bite to eat and then I had a very restful nap and rest and a quiet evening.

Today will be a busy one as the housekeepers will be here as well the yard people.  Then at 1 pm I have my Monday men's luncheon and that will be enough for today.

Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional for this week.

Marilyn, I doubt that we could find a person who takes better care of their dogs than you do.  It is obvious how much you care for each one of them and I am sure they return the love.

Hope this is a nice day for you all.  It looks like the sun will be shining here and it is already 61 degrees.

I understand about Mel's arm.  He is and I am in physio.  THis causes the sore part to ache, even whem it is resting.  Physio is needed but at the sane time painful.

Heading out will be back later today see you all then.

Easter was so nice with 3/4 of the family here.  Our daughter & husband needed a quiet time at home with church & dinner & they have been rushing around too much.

Maintenance is over but S & F is ongoing as far as I can tell.  I checked in here last night.

Nationwide manhunt is on for a man who lit a fire connected to two propane tanks at the mall closest to the Columbine school on the anniversary date.  There were propane tanks at the school so this is a mystery - now they know the name.  This seems to never end.

I have to clean and oil a sewing machine that I gave to a DIL, who left it in the basement & never touched the thing for fear - I had given her lessons so - now it may go into a garage sale if I can get it to hum nicely.

JudyB:  Understand that your pain will cease but it may take a long time.  Hugs to you! - Gentle hugs.

I realize I was mixing up this site, which changed servers a few days ago, with the Seniors & Friends site on which I also participate.  Just one of those senior moments.

Leftover Easter Bunnies ???

I was surprised as well that when I clicked to come here that I came right to here.  But I can't get into S&F.   :-[

Yesterday was a busy, tiring day but oh, so fulfilling!  Sunrise service was awesome with the Youth Minister's sermon.  He is a great preacher as well as our Senior Minister.

Then the Young Adult Sunday School class prepared a breakfast for all who stayed.  Too much and the coffee was great!

Then back upstairs for Easter Sunday Service.  People just kept coming in.  Folding chairs were brought in or it would have been standing room only!  One of the videos I downloaded was of
The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Gae-n0Pb7Q).  David, the Worship Leader, stated that one of his dreams was to sing in a large choir and today we would all get the chance to do so.  Well, I have goosebumps thinking about this but when that video started and all the singers in that choir were singing AND a full church house of people singing...well, tears came to my eyes just listening to that beautiful message being sung for our Lord and Savior.  It even sounded more awesome than listening to it on my laptop with my Bose speakers....now that is awesome!

Click on the above and see what I mean.  Awesome isn't it?

Then I came home, changed clothes and went to Kitty and Bob's for Easter dinner.  I felt very much at home even though I was a fifth wheel with their two daughters, spouses and three grands, Bob and Kitty.  I stayed for a decent time and excused myself to came home so they could visit with family.

I crashed when I got home but I did finish the baby afghan I was crocheting.  It is all ready for a bag, tissue paper, card and bow.  The baby shower is May 15th...I thought it was May 1st!

Today is rehab for Ivalou at 2 so we will leave a half hour earlier.  Then have something to eat somewhere.  It is raining again....sounds like a broken record, right?  A gentle rain but steady rain.

Looks like everyone had a Happy Easter...I love that!

Thank you, Etta,  just awesome....

Had a very nice Easter at home with family.

Even thought I did all cleaning and most of cooking, I was happy and relaxed sitting and enjoying my family.

Thank you Lord.

Hope you all had a Blessed Easter...

Good afternoon;

The sewer crew are out front again digging - too much water is coming from some where and is causing connection problems .   If I was bored then I would have something to watch I much say it is entertaining.

The tree in the front yard  is in bud, the new leaves of 2011 are on the way.

Laundry needs to be done so off I must go.

Happy Monday, what's left of it!  It's so nice to 'visit' with all of you this way.

I have had a very frustrating day.  Woke up way too early (3:00) and couldn't get back to sleep, so got up, cleaned out the refrigerator (What on earth came over me??) then spent time in the Word and prayer...so many needs for which to pray!  Rushed around to get a package ready to mail; went to my toenail appointment, then to see Beth, and was invited to stay for lunch with her....then Darrel called to say the newspaper had lost Mom's obituary, and her photo!  Had to rush home, find and email it to them, the rush back to town to attend a seminar called "The Dust Bowl Revisited" as I had signed up weeks ago for that.

When that was over, to the Post Office, then the bank to try to finish up Mom's stuff there; then to court house to purchase car tags.  And every place I went, except the lunch and the seminar, I had problems!  That was my day, and it felt like Monday all day!

I was happy to get home, and am sure I will turn in early tonight and hope to sleep a bit later in the morning!

And I have sort of hit a snag on the book, am trying to decide how to proceed.  Hmmmmm.....I'm sure God will give me the answer!

And I'm sorry..TMI!

First I want to thank you all for the thank you's this week for the devotion.  I just wish the book I use was still in print.  I love reading the scripture and then reading how I could apply those scriptures to my life today.  Thank you all.

I am sore from mopping my bathroom floor three times Saturday while sitting on my behind.  Muscles are sore that I didn't know I had!  And to think I have the kitchen, hall and utility room to do which is 10 times bigger!

Today is the DDS for me.  He makes too much money.  His office has a spa which contains a massage chair, soft blankets, dark, aroma therapy and soothing music.  Ivalou will do that while I get the works.  Cleaning today for me.

Then after that we will go to Senior Adult Ministry lunch at our Sunday School teacher's home.  DDS and Bill's home is about three miles apart so that is why Ivalou is going with me.  And the price of gas went to $4.17.9 yesterday!!!  Save all we can when we can!

We had more rain yesterday.  I walked across the yard between Ivalou and I yesterday.  I stepped in standing water where I have never seen it before.  The ground is so saturated...no place for it to go.  And today it is windy!  You just want it all to STOP!  But the good thing today is the sun shines partly.  It is overcast but at least not those dark rain clouds.  The grass is growing but there is no way anyone could mow after all this rain.

Sorry about that Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and all those states that are so dry!

Ivalou just called and she isn't going with me today.  Said she is too sore from rehab.  I asked her if she took her pain pills and she hesitated.  I think she is trying not to take them and didn't.

Every one have a great calm day!  You hear, Janet?

My wife was not able to come for that but she was at the main service and that was hard for her to come  as she has so much pain in her back even with the med's that she takes.  Please continue to pray for her.

Have a wonderful week I will check back later.  Gord. :) :cp:

Morning all.

Etta Sue I am cleaning today as well.  Floors too.  I am drawing a blank what is DDS?

Janet I pray today goes better for you than yesterday did.  It is rough having days like that.

Yesterday the girls took out the rake and raked up the yard around the house, put all the garbage into the burn pile and we had a fire.  It is good to see all the winter junk get burned and be left with a clean yard.  When we picked up the burn permit we were warned to not start before 6:00 pm, the fire department is cracking down on that.  Everything looks so nice now and I can't wait till everything dries up so we can walk without gerring the water seeping into our shoes.  Janet I wish I could bottle some of it and sent it to you!

HAve to go more reading to do.

Etta Sue, try this to get into S&F:

Try going to Command Prompt (Start -> Run, type cmd in the box and hit enter) and entering the command "ipconfig /flushdns" (no quotes)

That should force Windows to update its DNS cache again

Hi everyone.  Got up earlier than usual this morning after being awake since 4 am.  Just had my usual Tuesday morning and now eating my lunch and then will rest awhile as the walking this morning left me feeling pretty tired.

Janet, what a day you had yesterday.  It just seems that we have those occasional days when nothing seems to go exactly right.  Guess that keeps us humble.  I am sure you will get new inspiration on your book.

Judy, glad the girls did the yard for you all.

Pat, we can be patient as know it is lot of work to change servers.  We do appreciate the work Michael and you do to keep the site vibrant and going on a daily basis.

Gord, I understand your concern with the constant pain your wife experiences.  Fortunately my wife experiences her pain mostly when on her feet.

Etta Sue, sounds like you experienced a very busy Easter.  I can't image a dentist has those things in his office.  Does he share that with other doctors?

Joyce, a belated Happy Birthday.

Juanita and RuthV, glad you both stopped by and said hi.

Dinner was left overs yummmmm it was good.

Janet:  If I wake up in the night I will sometimes have some milk,  and of late I have made a point of reading a chapter in the Chicken Soup Book - Positive Thinking  that I am presently reading.

Judy:  In New Liskeard it is to get very cold tonight what about you folk

I am sitting here with my sunglasses on - the tri-focals met a "sad death" yesterday. So, I'll be kinda feeling my way around for several days. I believe God's guidance will help me to utilize a 13 year old pair of frames to get the current lenses [ut in until the new ones are made after Friday's eye specialist appt.

His perfect Will will take care of it.

Y'all have a peaceful evening with our Lord.

Hi everyone on this Wednesday morning.  Not long since I posted but wanted to stop by before getting my day started.  After coffee I will be going to the church for our Bible study with the pastor.  We are about to finish our study on the book of John.  It has been an interesting study.  I will skip the donut shop and lunch out today as Pat isn't going this morning.  She has been busy preparing some food items to take to our daughter tomorrow so she can have some home cooked meals.  Yesterday she made a large batch of goulash and we put it in individual serving (we also had some for dinner last night).  Then overnight she cooked two large roasts in the crock pots and will package some of that today as well as make some twice-baked potatoes.  So our daughter should eat well for the next few days.

Ruth Ann, I sure would hate to get along without my glasses for a few days.  Hope you can get yours fixed quickly.

Ruth, we are having warm weather and it is already 63 degrees here.  The whole SE USA is under a storm warning that has already done a lot of damage on its way.  It looked like, from the local weather, that our area may not be too severely hit but you never know in these dangerous storms.

Tonight is choir practice.  Our director has sent us emails the last two weeks expressing her gratitude for our efforts and with good words to say about our singing.  She is such a talented musician that these words are not given lightly and I know they mean a lot to each member of the choir.

DDS = Dentist...

Pat ~ I did.  Seems to be better especially since I went off Firefox and back on.  Also scanned for virus'.  We'll see.  And I got on S&F this morning.

I think I am getting a cold.  Head congestion, sore throat and sneezing.  I don't want a cold.  I finally resorted to using Vicks, throat spray and took a couple of cold pills last night.  Feel better today but I can tell my sinus' are filled!  Yuck!

Ivalou didn't go with me yesterday after all.  She called and said that she wasn't feeling up to par and was sore from rehab.  I asked her if she took a pain pill...no.

When I got back home after the dentist and SAMS lunch, I checked the mailboxes.  Ivalou had mail so I backed into her drive.  I always knock on her door...Shave and a hair cut, two bits!  Then open the door if it is unlocked and yell....Hootie Who!  She was asleep on the couch and didn't stir.  I saw that she was breathing...a fear of mine that she won't be...and left.  I later called to make sure she found her mail.  She said that she took her pain pill and had taken about 4 naps since!  Hope she is up to rehab today!  She had a really big weekend so needed the rest.

We had rain last night and patches of sunshine today.  But to the west are dark clouds!  So I am sure the rain isn't over yet!

I went out to the rain guage when I got home a while ago, and it says we only got 3/8 inch of rain.  But we are SO grateful for that much, and are praying more will follow!

Another busy day, last session of The Dust Bowl Revisited, which has been interesting.  Ulysses was near the middle of the very worst of the dust bowl, so it is well remembered here.

Beth got.........drum roll.......FOUR DOZEN ROSES today from.....you guessed it!  John.  :) :) :)  I told her I am jealous, I don't think I have received four dozen roses in my lifetime, let alone all at once!   ;)

He had ordered two dozen for her for Easter and they weren't delivered, so the company replaced them, and she got both batches today.  They are various colors, just gorgeous.  Some were pretty wilted, after being in transit for a week.

Etta Sue, I'm glad your sister was okay!

We are going to Garden City tomorrow.  I need at least two days at home to catch up on some things!

Judy, Pat and Etta Sue, please chase those clouds over here!  Thanks!

We need the rain clouds to linger a little longer here.  They just split and go to the east but we did have a little last night & a trace of snow.  32 degrees this morning.

Al:  How are you and Marbeth faring?  I hope you two are well and did enjoy a sweet Easter morning.

4 dozen roses!  That is so wonderful.  Take pictures - frame that picture.

Kitchen is ready for tomorrow.  I would not want to count the times that I have prepped the kitchen area for the next morning.  It is automatic.  A robot could do this.  Oh, well - grateful that I can still do such things.

Glad that many had a nice Easter.  I was ill and spent it in bed, so missed out on the turkey, etc.  There is always next year......

We are having lots of rain, with the occasional visit by the sun.  I am going to Victoria to the eye dr. tomorrow and hope it will be one of the nicer days.  Hope this will be my last check on the new lenses...drops will stop soon and that makes me glad.  They tend to make me ill.  Nice to see clearly again and great to walk around without wearing glasses :)

Sorry about all the terrible storms and fire in the US.  We have a lot of shaking going on here at the moment.  More homes being built in back of us and worried about the foundation on this house.  The shaking caused a lovely  mirror in the kids bathroom to fall and break and damage the wall, and the lovely new counter by their sink.  This is not going to be a peaceful summer!

Here is a very small smile....

A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her own childhood was like: "We used to skate outside on a pond. I had a swing made from a tire, it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods." The little girl was wide-eyed,  taking this all in. At last she said, "I sure wish I'd gotten to know you sooner!"  ;)

Time to go.  God Bless.

Liz, I'm so happy to read your posts from time to time.

We had three tornadoes (small ones) touch down in our area.  Two were just south of Kitchener and one was in Fergus.  (North of Guelph)

I shut down early last night because of a sudden thunderstorm and storms continued through the night.  They seem to have moved on to our east, but it's still very dark.  Unbelievable devastation in other parts of the country.

Hi everyone.  I expect some of you have seen the news about the tornados in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.  We are fine and our area escaped untouched.  It was a very scary night in Georgia and I followed the storm until 2 am when the tornado warnings were cancelled for our area.  There were many deaths in North Georgia but none right around here.  The storms went north of us and also south of us.  We ended up with a little bit of rain about 2 am but didn't hear any wind or hear strong thunder.  The local TV stations stayed on all evening with the weather and following the various cells that were spawning the tornados and terrible weather.

We are headed to Atlanta shortly to spend some time today with our daughter and to take her the food that Pat has prepared for her.  She got a different refrigerator in her apartment yesterday and this one has a shelf in her freezer, which will be nice and a shelf in the freezer door.  We will eat across the street from her place at the Shepard's Spinal Center as they have a good cafeteria.  Not looking forward to the drive down and back but the trip today is a must.

Thanks for asking, Carol.  It was a good weekend.  I did a dramatic reading of one of the old hymns regarding the triumphant resurrection of our Lord.

Thanks for asking...still have the head congestion, runny nose then stopped up nose, sneezing and wheezing.  Need to go to CVS for more meds.

Lots of wind around 12:30am.  I got up.  I could hear sun catchers rattling on the windows....never heard that before.   I turned on The Weather Channel and saw that Indiana was still in a watch.  Then I turned on WTHR (local TV station) on Droid and saw that the watch was lifted at 1am.  I went back to bed at 1:30am.

I have a couple of nieces in Ohatchee, Alabama...north of Anniston.  They have been without electric since yesterday morning.  Bad storms yesterday morning...then a lull...then the tornadoes last evening.  Laura was home alone when a tornado went over their house.  She said she had never heard such a noise before.  In their front yard is a roof...probably from Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  Her Mother got home and in the house.   They may not get electric for a week or more!  I think I heard there were 68 deaths in Alabama.  Not sure.

I plan to sweep this house today.  Then possibly this evening I will go to Kitty's.  She is having computer problems.  She is making a movie to put on DVD's for her 50th Class Reunion.  A guy sent her pictures but she had to download Picassa and then all her pictures downloaded into Picassa instead of PHotoShop.  Default changed.  She couldn't open those photos in PHotoShop...wrong file name.  So she un-installed Picassa and now she can't even access her photos on her external drive.  She sure gets herself in a pickle!  I don't know if I can help her or not but I usually can.  Sounds like she needs an Image Converter to change the file name.  And change her defaults back to PhotoShop.  If she lost 'her' photos, I can't help her there.

It is still quite windy here today and bright and sunny.  My WeatherFX says rain today and sunny tomorrow.  I need to mow today or tomorrow.

Lilacs are here.  Narcissus gone.

Remember Jerry, the Gabby one?  He has been gone 6 years today.  I really miss him.  His signature is all over this house.  A great handy man!

Oh, yes!  CP is fast today!  Yay!

We went to Garden City today for some stuff.  Got two new ceiling fans for the bedroom; I got some photos printed at Walmart.

SO sad about the terrible tornados in the South, so many deaths, news tonight said 280..and such devastation of property.  We have so very much for which to thank God.

The Word says in the last days everything that can be shaken will be shaken.....and boy!  It is shaking!

Larry, hope you had a good and safe trip to Atlanta and home.  We picked up several items for our daughter today, too.  When I took them in to her, she was talking to John on the phone.

Carol, tomorrow I plan to take more vases in and divide up Beth's roses, so I can get some nice photos of them.  They are just jammed into the vases and can't be seen properly.  She always wants pictures of the things John sends.  ;)

Liz, so sorry to hear that you have been feeling poorly.  Hope you have bounced back by now.  Sad to hear they are continuing so much construction around you.  Going to get too crowded for comfort soon, I would think.  I enjoyed your little smile for the day!  Thanks.  ;)

Etta Sue, I hope you were able to help Kitty out.  I just won't try  too many things on the computer because I'm afraid I will mess things up royally.

And speaking of ROYAL, how many of you are getting up in the wee hours of the morning to watch the royal wedding?  ;) ::)

I'm off to work on the book for a while!

IT IS SNOWING!!! This weather is unbelievable.  The creek is about 1 foot away from overflowing the bank.  This is a creek that is usually about 3 inches deep and now is about 4 feet deep. Perhaps with this cool down it will give the waterways a chance to lower.

I had a great time with my friend on the trip to Toronto.  It was a great time of fellowship and fun.

I left the TV in my room on and kept waking up to the prelims of the wedding.  Woke up at 6 and watched.  Her dress was wonderful.  The wedding was typical Windsor elaborate.  I am heading back to bed when the girls leave.

Hi everyone.  It looks like we will have a nice sunny day today.  My main activity today is to go to the Senior Center and the Golden Games Rummikub event.  Pat is also going.  It starts at 9 am and last year I was done by 10 am as wasn't the winner at our table.  If you win (have the lowest score because you have used all of your tiles and the others must count the points on their tiles they haven't played to the table).  We play three games during the first round.  It is a simple game but fun and you meet new people.  Then I have the rest of the day to myself.

We did have a nice trip to Atlanta, although the traffic was really slow for the first part of the trip on the Interstate.  We did go across the street to eat and have a time to visit with our daughter.  They have a nice cafeteria with the tables spread out as many in wheelchairs come there to eat with friends and family when they are able.  I tried to put in a wireless router for her but I hadn't included one of the cables needed so that didn't work.  Pat stocked up her refrigerator so she should be eating well for several days.

Our daughter seems to be feeling better and said the infected place on her foot was looking better.  She will see the foot doctor again next week as well as the diabetic doctor.  Her blood sugar is in the 200's.

Pat, I don't have a phone number for Joan Grimes.

Judy, Pat and others in Canada, I saw just a bit of the recessional after the wedding on the news this morning and then the ride in the carriage to Buckingham Palace.  It was quite a show of pomp and pageantry.  I thought it was nice that the Queen didn't want to upstage her grandson and his new bride.

Judy, you sure have a lot of snow.

Janet, isn't it wonderful that John is in Beth's life as sure that gives her a lift when she talks with him.  Great idea on the roses to spread them out.

Etta Sue, sorry to read that you are fighting the sniffles and cold symptoms.  I don't know why using Picassa would mess up Kitty's pictures as it simple finds all of the pictures on your computer and displays them in an easy to use arrangement.  It doesn't change the files location or their properties.  I am confident you did or will be able to make sense of it again for her.

Al, I would like to have heard your reading.

I have a Bible application on my iTouch for the Bible for YouVersion that is great.  It has many different versions of the Bible, some of which you can download the whole Bible to your phone and a number of them also have audio with them so you can listen to the Bible being read as you read along.  I am using the NIV version and the audio feature is there and it sounds like Alexander Scorby (may not have that spelled right) is the reader.  Pat, I remember when you got the tapes or CD's ( I don't remember which) that I found for you at the Christian Book Store.  There are also Android versions from this sight.  I couldn't figure out how the bookmark was set so wrote them a brief e-mail and heard back within three or four hours with the answer.

I haven't watched the wedding yet.  I recorded it so I will watch it Live on the recording.  I have already received a picture of them kissing in an email.  What I could see of the dress, it is beautiful...as most wedding dresses are.

I didn't go to Kitty's.  I opted out.  I did get more meds at CVS and stopped at Dollar General for some necessities but called her and told her I thought I had better stay home and baby this cold.

Kitty emailed me and let me know that when she got home yesterday the furnace people were there to fix their furnace.  She couldn't get the garage door open by the outside remote.  Her key doesn't work on any door in the house...five doors.  She called Bob who was in Kokomo and he said to use the remote in the car!  Duh!  Since the furnace guy was in front of the garage door, she didn't think of using the remote in the car.  Bless her heart!

On my Droid, I use the YouVersion Bible also.  Love it!  Use it every day.  Worth the extra money just for the Bible.  That's what I use for Sunday School with my Bose speakers!  The sound is fabulous.  I like the New Living Translation...most of the time, it is different voices for different people...a woman for a woman, etc.

Today is rehab and my mammogram.  Then I hope to mow the grass.  With all this rain, the grass has really grown, as well as the leaves have come out and the Lilacs are in bloom!!

And sometime, I need to watch the big wedding.

I have the Live Bible on my phone and use the Amplified Version.

I have been absent from this forum for a couple of days. I am looking forward to the reactions of both pregnant grand daughters when they  get the afghans  I  made for them tomorrow at the baby shower. I sent them to my Daughter in law to give to them  at the shower. Imagine the surprise when they get a gift from the grandma one has never met and the other hasn't seen in 20 years.

All is well with our family members in North Carolina. My son was on Facebook and I called my Sister in law last evening.

I didn't get up in time to watch the wedding. but I did turn on the TV at 5:30 when I woke up. That was just before they came out on the balcony.

Gotta run now time to go to the gym.

I have spent some time reading all that I missed in the past few days.  Yes we are still getting rain but truly I am expecting this until at least the first day of summer, why do I say this the wind was out of the east and yes we had rain on the first day of spring. For sometime we have been paying attention to what the first day of the new season brings and that is what we seem to get all the way through to the next season.

Last evening we went to bed and set the alarms for the Royal Wedding then after the wedding back to bed  for several more hours of rest.  A memory to last our life time.

I have to get a letter in the mail.  So while I am still awake I must go.

Etta Sue, hope you are feeling a lot better today!

I called grandson Curtis this morning to ask him if it were possible to make some changes in the text of my book SIMPLY on the computer.  YES!!!  So simple, if only you know what to do!  I need to write all those instructions in a notebook so I can find them again when needed.  By all, I mean not only these but lots of others he and Mark have helped me with over the years.

I did take two more vases, divide up the roses and get some good pictures of Beth with them.  They are still in pretty good shape, and getting lots of the bottom leaves off and giving them more room will help them to last longer.

Yes, Larry, John is a great blessing in Beth's life.  He gives her the will to keep on going when things are tough.  And he says she is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to him, so they are both happy!

I did NOT get up to watch the wedding.  I don't think I would get up at that hour to watch my own wedding!  ;)  But I can understand those with ties to England being interested in it.  We don't have royalty here, though.  And when I did get up, at 5, I watched something else, after my prayer time.

Tomorrow we are driving down to Campo, Colorado, to attend my high school alumni event.  I haven't been there in several years and am looking forward to it.

Beautiful here today, except it is windy--not too bad, though.

Hello, Hopefully that is carried by the wind to all of you. We were doing good then a fire started :(... Still dry even with the rain we got earlier in the week. Luckily the fire is NW of here and the wind is blowing out of the SE so it will only go away from us and even if the wind would change direction it would get stuck in the riverbed (many times used to drive a fire to containment. Since our rivers in the area have no water then the beds are used to fight out of control fires by driving them into the bed and then controlling the flames from coming up and out of the bed until they can get complete control. Besides that it is easier to fight a fire uphill then downhill :) at least that is what the fire fighters say. I must be off her and monitor the radio for any EMS needs since there are only a few of us left in town to run the ambulance. Everyone have a good evening and I hope this all "blows" over soon.

I, too, enjoyed watching the wedding events. And the choral music was just heavenly to my ears.

A good eye doctor appointment caused me to stop and thank our Lord for all His goodness.

I, too, am praying for all those involved in the storm damage and loss.

We had snow this morning then some rain.  The Lord answered prayer and the rain stopped, the sun came out and the rest of the day was beautiful.  The creek has gone down, and our road is safe, as is the main road.

I did watch most of the wedding, it was wonderful to see.  From the reports it will be going on still!  Prince Harry has an order in for breakfast for all at 6:00 am.  That is too long a day for me!

I have a Birthday Party to prepare for in the morning, so I will be absent for most of the day and evening.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi everyone.  We had a most beautiful day yesterday, a bit chilly, but sunny and nice.  Pat and I did play Rummikub as planned.  I managed to win the first round at my table, which put me in the second and final round, but didn't win in that round.  I then had a quiet afternoon and did quite a bit of reading.  I also found that on Netflix they now have available all 275 episodes of Cheers, which I always find amusing.  So I am starting at the beginning to watch them, maybe a couple a day.

Today we have a busy morning and then things should be quieter for the rest of the day which I plan to spend resting and reading, etc.

Ruth Ann, glad to hear your eye appointment went well.  When will you get your new glasses?

Judy, I expect a lot of people over the world lost sleep because of the royal wedding.  I can't even imagine planning for such an elaborate affair and pulling it all off on time.  I expect many people were at work to accomplish that.  I agree they make a very handsome couple and just hope they will have a long and faithful marriage.

Sarah, was glad to see you all finally had some rain.  Hope the fires can be brought into control soon.

Janet, one of the things most of us forget to do when we don't know who to do something on the computer is to look at the help section of the program.  Another very effective way, often with videos showing things step-by-step is to do a good search starting with "how to..."  Hope you have a wonderful day at your class reunion.  I am not even sure my high school is having reunions anymore since it has been 52 years since the last class graduated.  That was the class I was in.  After having me as a student they decided to close the school.  :)

Hi Ruth.  It seems the seasons are going by quickly anymore.  This has been a wet spring for us.

Marilyn, I hope your granddaughters will cherish the afghans you made for them and that it helps reestablish a relationship.

Etta Sue, hope you are feeling better this morning.  Sometimes we forget to do the obvious, such as Kitty did with the garage door opener.  Did you have to pay for your YouVersion program on the Droid?  Perhaps it was the particular version you wanted but mine was free, but certainly worth paying for.

Yesterday evening about 8:30 our son called to tell us we were great grandparents again.  This is our granddaughter's fourth child.  I found they had sent a couple of pictures of the new baby with the parents this morning.  The baby weighted 9lbs 10.8 oz and 22 inches long and was named (are you ready for this) Hawk Zombie.  I will bite my tongue and not say anything to them but can't imagine naming a child this, especially the second name.  Guess it is a different world we live in than when we had our children.

Larry, I would need to not only bite my tongue but swallow it on hearing that name for such a precious little bundle of the Lord's blessing!  What can they be thinking of?    ???

The rain stopped, the sun came out and the water in my immediate area retreated somewhat.  Our trip out of town turned out to be non-eventful.  The drive had directions for roads away from the flooding areas and traveled without mishap.  The Lord does look out for his own.

Today the sun is shining and it may go from a low of 38 this morning to mid fifties this afternoon.  Then tonight it may get below freezing again but tomorrow will be even warmer.

Hawk Zombie!!  I would have to call him H.Z.  That's worse than Etta Sue!  But I have grown to like my name.  I can't imagine what these parents were thinking about.  What are the other kids names?  Are the parents goth?

And yes, the YouVersion Bible is free on Droid also.  The only thing I don't like about the audio part is the sound always starts at verse 1.  But I have learned that I can listen to the sound to where I want to start, say verse 19, stop the sound and leave the Bible on Droid and shut off Droid.  (Don't close out the Bible)  Then when I turn it back on and all I need to do is start sound again  and I am at verse 19.  I do this for the Sunday School class.

I downloaded an Audio Dictionary that pronounces the word but I am thinking it is a free trial and will have to pay for it if I want to keep it.  Just looked.  I have Cambridge Advanced Dictionary version 2.1.  It is version 3+ that costs.  We will see in two days when the trial period is over.  I looked up the word 'epistle' this morning.  The 't' is silent.  Didn't know that.

I didn't mow yesterday.  I saw by two weather reports that it is to be warmer today and partly sunny (cloudy but sunny sounds more positive).  So I am hoping to mow this afternoon.  It is partly sunny but not near 70+ degrees yet!

Kitty and Bob came last evening.  I have two mowers and I checked the oil on the oldest one after mowing last week...no oil showed on the stick.  I have never put oil in either mower and Tony is so busy working.  So Bob came and put oil in the mower for me.  Now I can do it.  This stems from Ivalou putting oil in her Cadillac years ago but put it where the transmission fluid was to go.  I'm a homemaker...not a mechanic!

I am feeling somewhat better today.  I slept so good last night.  Needed that.  I am one that needs a lot of sleep...8-10 hours a night but I can also catch up on lost sleep!  My eyes are still watering.  Mostly in the morning but I don't think that is cold related...something else going on.

Ivalou asked me yesterday if there was something she could type on and then print it out that doesn't cost a lot?  She gets calls on the phone, writes it long-hand and then can't read it.  If she could type it and print it, it would be better.  I thought of an audio reminder.  She could say it into a recorder and play it back.  Maybe even ask the person that called to repeat it while on speaker phone and record it.  But she can't print that out.  Any ideas from anyone?

Can you believe a third of 2011 is almost over??

Hawk Zombie No way could I keep my mouth shut let alone bite my tongue. I would have to know why on earth they would name a precious child of God that  awful second name.  I agree that they must be Goth parents. He sure was a big baby though.

Well 16  days and we are outta here for  vacation. The dogs will be boarded and all  clean and bathed when I bring them back home, I am having Happy cut down for the summer. Not shaved but a close haircut. I can better keep and eye in his skin and make sue the skin problem doesn't return. The man across the street is going to feed the cats again this year.  I just hope it is  not raining the whole time we are there.

There is to be some  kind of a  sales meeting./convention of the Columbia Sportswear and Hardwear company while we are there, with bands and such until 11:30 pm going on in tents in the parking lots. Yikes.  :ticked:

Many times we have to, as Grand Parents, shut our mouths.  It isn't easy but in reality it isn't any of our business.  I agree about the name but would, as Larry is, let it be.  All we can do as Grand parents is pray.  The best thing we can do is pray.  The only worthwhile thing we can do is pray.

John will be home soon, and his meals are ready for next week.  I didn't sleep till the wee hours last night, and the phone woke up grumpy.  I think I was too tired to sleep.  I hope for better tonight.
Ok I am ready for the birthday party.  Just have to shower and dress. We have a beautiful day for a party, except for the soggy ground it is perfect.  Sunny and warm.  It is hard to believe that petite girl has turned into a beautiful young lady.

Wel must go may be able to get back later.

Hi folks. Got home about 2 pm this afternoon and it was a beautiful drive north today as the weather was really nice. Had an interesting week with 2 events for the Road Knights. One was with a Rotary Club where I delivered a speech on how to share the road safely with trucks and the other was a career fare at one of the high schools in Toronto. It looks like things will slow down a bit with the Road Knights for a while now as I only have one career fare in May so far and will be part of making a movie on road safety in June. I love all these new experiences. My new truck is running great. Rides better than our car. Nice to see the snow all melted away again for this year. Now we can start planning and looking forward to putting in a garden again towards the end of May. Have to get busy now and get the garden and lawn equipment ready to do service again for another season. Guess I will have to get that all done by next weekend as the grass will be ready to cut by then. It grows fast here for the first monthor so. Nothing unusual to ahve to cut it at least twice a week for the first month to month and a half. Thats Judy's job. She likes to ride the lawn tractor and cut the grass. She's not happy if I start doing that. So i let her do it and keep her happy. Like the saying goes. Happy wife happy life. LOL. Anyway going to run for now Blessings Folks Bonesy

We had a most beautiful day.

Larry:  Love your great grandchild and the name will not matter one little bit.  They must have a reason for the name and when you find out I am sure it will make a lot sense.

Marilyn: Enjoy your vacation.

Janet:  I do have lots of notes for doing things on the computer. I use the help but find it is too time consuming.  The help I contact lots of times is Sue our daughter.

I baked a batch of banana muffins took a couple to auntie and after having a couple our selves they are almost gone. Sounds like a lot of eating but I made only ten enough to fill an 8x8 pan if I had made a cake.

Mel met Doug at Bass Pro ( a sport store )  which allowed me enough time to quickly go through several photo albums for pictures, I guess I did not tell anyone that Sue is having a surprise BD party for him it will be the big 70.

Time for me to relax.

Hi, friends, I'm almost too tired to talk tonight. Did some special spot cleaning at the church & then walked around a small Dollar Store shopping for probably 45 min. So, it's rest tonight.

They're warning of 80% rain for tomorrow, with TONS of it on Monday, thus another flood caution is out, and then we're supposed to get rain again Tues. I fear for those near our rivers and even some of our creeks and the lakes. The Corps of Engineers has already let some water out of 4 dams around this area to try to prevent the 500-year flood catastrophe of last Mothers' Day here in TN.

Likely, the little one will decide to change his name legally later in life. He should be such a sweetie when you get to see him!

Larry, I think the turnaround on the new glasses will be about a week. Until then, I'll kind-of feel my way through. :)

Hi, friends, it's been a night without much sleep, so I came to the computer to rest a bit. I receive the daily devotional thoughts sent out by Reflecting God (from WordAction). Here's what the one just received says about one of the verses in my favorite scripture:

"Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail" (Lam. 3:22). God promises never to leave nor forsake us. His stability is continual. We have so many reasons to worship and praise God! Yes, worship! That's what God desires! Every Sabbath, every day, let's praise and worship our Lord!

"Oh, Lord, we praise you for your immense love and your faithfulness. We are comforted that you never leave us nor fail us. Your works are so great, and your thoughts are so profound that our hearts overflow with song! We rejoice in you and honor you.

"It is true that evildoers cross our paths and try to hinder us. But with you, Lord, we are victorious!

"We praise you, O God, our stable rock! You are only good! Praise your Name!" Amen.

Hi everyone on a beautiful sunny Georgia morning.  Yesterday was close to a perfect day here weather-wise.

Today is communion Sunday for this month at our services.  The choir is singing a new piece for us as the anthem.  I believe is called "Blest Are We" or something similar.  Then we will find somewhere to have lunch and then have a restful afternoon and evening.  Our daughter just called and said she is attending her church service this morning as they are doing a groudbreaking to make her church more handicapped accessible.  She has a most difficult time getting her wheelchair inside the santuary and has to have help as the ramp is so steep.  We have been there and the church is built on a hill and the front has a lot of steps and the side entrance is where the ramps are and they are not easy to get to.  She is looking forward to the project being done so she can attend more often.  It is a long bus ride for her (over and hour) each way and she hasn't been attending regularly.  She has not been feeling very well due to constant pain.

Ruth Ann, it looks like the rainy weather will stop about the North Georgia line today.  We may get some tomorrow and Tuesday but not like last week.

I learned sometime ago to keep my mouth shut when it isn't my business.  I will just refer to my new great grandson as Hawk and try to forget the atrocious middle name.  I knew some months ago they were thinking of using the name they gave him but had hoped that sanity might intervene before he was born and they would choose something else.  Her other children are named Cobra and Shelby after the Ford autos and the third child is named Romero after a horror movie director.  I don't think Goth is an issue here.  I am just thankful the child and mother are both healthy and that the pregnancy is over for her.

Ruth, we have the Bass Pro Shop close by and it is really a big store.  I know they started in Springfield, Missouri.  I have been in one once in my life but am not a sportsman so they really don't interest me.

Bonesy, sounds like you are really enjoying your Road Knights work.  I am sure you will have some interesting experiences to reflect back on when it is over.  My wife doesn't share Judy's desire to mow the lawn.  I don't know that she ever did it.

Marilyn, it wouldn't have had any impact to say anything on the grandchild's name as we have no influence on the parents.  Know you will be counting down the days until that vacation starts.

Etta Sue, I wouldn't think there would be much difference in the the later versus the earlier version of the dictionary.  One of the features I really enjoy with the ebook readers is the ability to press on a word you don't know the meaning of and it will bring up a dictionary showing that word.  I have used it a few times already.  Your idea on the audio recorder sounds like a wise one and they have them that are very small and you no longer have to deal with tapes but they use a memory chip.

Jeanne, sure you must be looking forward to some warmer weather.  At least the days are warming up for you even if you still have a freeze at night.

Hope this is a nice and worshipful Sunday for you all.

Larry I love mowing.  This was something I rarely had to be asked to do as a teen at home.  My kids love mowing as well as I always did the mowing, they had to fight to get the mower.

This is the Lord's day.  The day that the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it!!

We had Lords Supper last week Easter Sunday.  So this week will not be communion.  Must run and finish getting ready.

I couldn't get on CP before church.  Now it is fine.

We have communion every Sunday.  I missed it one Sunday when I was running the projector.  Seemed that something was missing all week.

As we were leaving church today, I marveled at how many little children we are getting in our church again.  Love it!  For awhile you could count all of them on your two hands.

Today I discovered that the dictionary I have had on Droid all along is audio, also.  So I will try both apps for awhile and delete the one I don't like as much.

Today we went to my favorite restaurant for lunch....King Chef.  I have been going down the lunch menu and the spicy ones, so today I had Yui Shan Scallops.  Never had scallops before.  Pretty good!  One more time and I can start the list over!!

Now I think I will opt for a nap and this evening is Small Groups.
