Hello everyone!

I'm back from my 20th anniversary trip!  (a month after the fact) Boy, did we have great weather and a fantastic time!  We drove all over North Central Idaho.  We basically followed the Lewis and Clark trail (and locations of the Nez Perce Indians and where they first met Lewis and Clark)  all the way into Montana.  We stopped for almost all of the Historical markers along the way and read everything.  We hit several visitor's centers.  We saw all kinds of terrain on our trip.  We also ran the gammet of places to stay as we don't have an RV at present.

We picked a day to call our anniversary and got a nice suite at a Best Western on the third floor, overlooking the clearwater river.  It had a jacuzzi by the window so you could enjoy the view.  There was a fireplace, cable TV, high speed wireless, etc... and the suite was larger than our first apartment.  We ordered dinner to have in our suite, as well.  What a nice treat that was!

The very next night, we were in a tiny town called Weippe in a tiny cabin barely large enough in which to swing a cat!  Four local TV stations, no internet, no fireplace, nothing large about it.  Still, it was charming and a fun experience.  I didn't really like the unknown of where we'd stay each night, but it did make for a memorable trip.

We saw plenty of birds and some wildlife.  We saw prairies, lakes, canyons, mountains, plains, meadows, forests, and rivers rivers rivers, etc...I got lots of photos which I'll be slowly getting posted to my website.  I will post one image here to start with.

I did awaken feeling quite sick yesterday morning.  (fever 102.1, aches, pains, headache, fatigue, cough, trouble breathing)  I am a bit better today after sleeping nearly all day yesterday.  We got home the night before.  I'm thankful to God that I was well for the trip.

Hope you're all doing well.  I will go for now.  The image is one of several buildings still standing in the still enhabited ghost town of Keuterville, Idaho.

Ugh, Judy--ANCHOVIES??  :P YUCK.  Well, I guess some folks like them, although I have no idea why!  Our neighbor once brought us an anchovy pizza as a thank you for some work we did for her, and our dogs wouldn't even eat it!  I saw a lot of anchovies in Southeast Asia, but I didn't eat even one!

Thanks to all the prayers for her, Beth came through the surgery just fine.  She continues to amaze me!  Her doctor said that her bowel had moved over underneath the gall bladder and was crowding her liver.  He said that is the body's natural defense in case the gall bladder ruptures.  Isn't that amazing?  The bowel had a lot of adhesions holding it there, which the doctor had to cut; and the stones they removed were quite large--one was larger than a quarter, about the size of a walnut, actually.  They showed them to us.  He removed everything through her belly button!  And he says Beth should start feeling a lot better, quickly.  Praise the Lord.  She is spending tonight in the hospital, and will go back to the home tomorrow.

Of course, I spent the whole day at the hospital and am tired.  But so relieved it is over, and Beth is okay.

Carol, sorry about the problems with your curtains.  Shouldn't happen!  Doesn't anyone take pride in a job well done any more?

I got brave and went with my friend Pat, who was staying at the hospital with me, for lunch at Alejandro's (Mexican).......And think I might regret it soon.  But I hope not!  My system is really complaining, though.  :-\

I am looking at a brand new career.  Need to learn more about it before I make a decision, but hey!  I'm not too old to start something new---am I?

I should go talk to Darrel, haven't seen much of him all day!

Hello everyone! I'm back from my 20th anniversary trip!

Sounds like you had a great trip.  One of my "Bucket" items is to follow the Lewis & Clark trail.  You've given me a little more desire to do it.

What is this, Janet?  Are you being serious?

:)Hi to all.    It seems that I have been gone for a long time.  So many things have happened since Easter week and our kids came and had dinner at our place.

On the Wednesday before Easter Sunday we had a wonderful soup and sandwich dinner at church and lots of people came then we had some singing and then the 12 disciples and Jesus came in and did the reenactment of the Last Supper and a;lso did the foot washing.  You felt like your were right there in the real thing.

Then on Thursday night we took two mini vans to a large church out in the country where they performed a cantata reenactment of when Jesus stayed in the Temple when he was only 12 years old and his parents came back for him, then it continued to the crucifixion and the Resurrection the music and acting was so good for amateurs.  The next night I took my wife back to see it.

Then on good Friday we had a service at our church and I sang a solo and it went well.  Then of course on Sunday we had wonderful service and our pastor acted out as Simon -Peter and he had the whole costume and full beard he did it so well.

We have also been busy with our grandkids and also so many other things in the last two weeks I have put on-over 600mls or more on my van but is good to busy. <3

This past Sunday the choir that I sing in  we had a concert and we had at least 92 members singing so it is a lot of fun,  we have 122 members registered.  I please ask that you continue to pray for my wife Noreen as she is still in daily pain.

Pappa Joe:  It is so nice to see you back.  May the Lord give you the strength to get through each day. <3

Pat:  Thanks for that you tube re Franklin Graham it was very interesting. God Bless Sis. <3 :cp:

I filmed a lunar eclipse from the ground and it took a lot longer than the above mentioned solar eclipse.  (it was so cold out, too)  I have had other unsuccessful attempts due to cloudy conditions, as well.

I put the phases of it into a poster form using Photoshop...Our God is an awesome God!

Wow!  Beautiful, Kathleen!

Thanks for putting that in here today.

Carol

Kathleen:  Your photos of the eclipse are amazingly clear and so interesting.  The moon just draws you in for a closer look.

Janet:  You could be our Spirit Ambassador!  Keep the spirit going!  Stay away from Mexican food & you will get better.

Gord:  What a lovely remembrance for this year's Easter season.

Larry:  Frankly, I try to not buy anything made in China because of so many problems with their products but it seems that too many things have to be returned or some little thing wrong.   As for a heart transplant - living with one has so many hazards and my friend really can never enjoy so many social things plus she fights all sorts of cancer ever so many years.  Glad that you are doing so well and you can meet with your buddies.  You and Pat are such a good help for Stacey as well.  I am glad that you are still writing posts.  Hugs to you.

I just love the picture of the "Cardinal in the Snow".  We had Cardinals in the Texas yard but not here in Denver area - we saw them again in Tucson.  Eye catchers for sure.

I am making a list on Microsoft Works for the cabin - we are going for a meeting on Saturday and this will be my first trip to see what we have purchased.  I thought making a list would help us to not bring doubles of some things or forget important items.  No electricity or water hooked up yet - these mountain people take forever to answer requests.  They are usually skiing or fishing.    Our story is that we and one son bought a foreclosed place in the mountains - he is going to do all the finishing work when we get power.

Pat:  How are things coming on your house?  It must be beautiful at this time of the year in your area.

Etta Sue

Another rainy day in Indiana.  Suppose to get to 68°F.  My two trees in the front yard, a Maple and a Tulip Poplar, are greening up in the last couple of days.  The Tulip Poplar blooms the third week of May.  Right now, it doesn't look like it will be blooming but I am sure it will.

I did take a nap yesterday.  After lunch, I was looking at the internet with StumbleUpon and fell asleep.  So I closed the lid on the laptop and went to the spare bedroom for a nap!  And I slept good last night, too!

I did get the house all cleaned but when I went to get the mail yesterday, the deck looks like a tornado brought all kinds of debris to it.  Once things dry out, I need to sweep and maybe bleach it again.

Always something to do!

Waiting on the surgery scheduler to call today....

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful day here in Georgia.  It is 72 degrees now and is to go to 80 degrees later today.

Yesterday I had the air conditions checked out.  He found we needed to replace the little unit that triggers the on and off of the compressor (can't remember what it was called).  The contacts had almost burned through.  We had to replace that part on the heat pump 2 or 3 years ago when it wouldn't shut off.  This has been an expensive week but these things needs to be done.

Pat has come down with a bad cold with a sore throat and nasal congestion and a cough.  She has no energy.  Stacey has had the flu since last a week ago Tuesday.  She tired going to work again today but lasted only about 10 minutes before vomiting and was sent home.  She shouldn't have gone in but this was the only day she could get her bus pass for this coming month.

We just received notice this morning that a friend in our church, who was diagnosed with lung cancer about 2 weeks ago, had passed away yesterday afternoon.  She was in Hospice care since leaving the hospital.  She always attended our Wednesday Bible Class and was very active in our church.  She was a truly fine person and will be missed.  The funeral is tomorrow afternoon and I plan on attending.

I do have choir tonight but otherwise have a free day.

Janet, so glad to hear of the success of the surgery and to know that Beth will soon be feeling much better.  You have us curious about your new career--inquiring minds need to know.  :)

Carol, I did a lot of research before starting the heart transplant testing and do understand that there are many concerns associated with it and always the potential for rejection. I have made the decision to live each day with as much joy as possible.  God has been very good to me and I just have to watch my limits.  I don't worry about tomorrow.

Gord, you have really been busy.  It must be great to sing in such a large choir.  I would love to have heard your solo.  Did you get a recording?

Kathleen, hope you are feeling even better today.  Beautiful picture and thanks for sharing it with us.

Guess I had better stop writing and have some lunch.

Pat

Very much despicable Pat.

Janet I am glad to here that Beth came out of the surgery just fine. That is good news.

Did I tell you about  Keith's Blood Glucose reading? (I don't remember if I did here or f  posted it on the S&F site. Any way it was 129, so the Doctor is sending him to either a dietitian or to Diabetes classes and I will be going with him..

Keith hasn't been notified of when the class is supposed to start, The Dr. told him he would be notified. I am going to class with him and I have a diabetic cookbook already on the counter to start right now. I  know that 129 is NOT borderline. 80-120 is  the normal range with 120 being too high. My runs about 90 in the BS tests that I have had.

I've had clients who were diabetic, so I know a little bit about what they can and can not eat. He seems to think that his blood sugar was high from eating too many M&M's I told him it is his continual diet of Cake and Ice cream, lots of potatoes, cookies and the M&M's. Plus he has high BP, it is higher when he goes tot he doctor than  when I take  it here it is about 105/62 here and it was 150/?? there the first time and 145/?? the 2nd time.

Yes, Pat, totally despicable!!  GRRRR!!  But during the campaign, his promoters were describing him as "messiah."  To tell you the truth, nothing that evil man does surprises me any more.  Come quickly, Lord Jesus!!

Oh, you are curious about my new career, are you?  ;)  Well......today I got a job, and I sure wasn't looking for one!  I am going to start tomorrow, working at the Care Home as a Homemaker.  I think this is going to be short term, at least I plan on only short term.  Since they moved into the new facility, each neighborhood (hall) has its own kitchen and dining room.  The homemaker on each neighborhood makes the residents' breakfast, cleans up, etc.  In the afternoons, they clean bathrooms.  But they only asked me to work 6-10 AM, cooking breakfast.  The reason for the hurry is that one gal is due to go into labor any time now, and they are short of help.

But about the new career.....I am looking into becoming a literary agent.  This is mostly to help my sister, who needs an agent to submit her work to publishing houses.  They won't accept it directly from her.  So I'm researching online what to do, and so far have found you don't need any special training or education to do that job.  Wish us luck!  Well, not luck, but blessings.  :)

Beth is already feeling better today!  Praise God.  She got back over to the home before noon today, happy to be back.

I need to do more research, see you later.

It was indeed dispicable, but I must admit that I was surprised by the "artist's" reaction to the criticism.  It was a fairly good reaction.

By the way, Pat - there were at least two of us who posted that we liked chiken toppings on  pizza, but I only see that one was noted.

Nita

I, too, was glad to hear the artist has decided not to unveil the painting.  He seemed genuinely surprised at the reaction he got from Christians.  It amazes me that he wouldn't know what the reaction would be!!

I don't think President Obama posed for this photo, so I won't fault him on this one. :)

I've been resting and sleeping a lot.  Trying to get better.  I got all my laundry from the trip all sorted and ended up back in bed before putting any in to wash.  I get wiped out with little effort, but my asthma is a big part of that.  I've been struggling to breathe and that is quite exhausting.  I'm using my nebulizer every four hours.  My fever is still down, though, so that is a good thing.

Larry-Glad you like my photo, thanks.  I am so sorry to hear of your friend who died recently.  I will pray for you and her family and friends who are grieving the loss of her life here on earth.

I figured out I took nearly 2600 pictures on our trip.  Of course, many were of birds flying and fishing and such on continuous shooting mode, so I can shoot off quite a few in a short time that way.  It's still a lot to go through and back up and weed out and keyword.  Ugh.  I've had a headache so I haven't even worked on them much, yet.

Janet-So glad to hear the good news about Beth!

Looks like the thunderstorms are about here.  I will go for now and rest some more.

A busy day here today. I am off to bed.  Night all and know you are all prayed for.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee and walking a mile a the gym.  It is another nice day here although a bit overcast this morning.

This afternoon I plan on attending our friend's funeral at 3 pm and have a few errands that I plan on attending to either before or after the funeral.  Pat is still sick with this cold that has developed and yesterday evening and again this morning is running a low grade fever.  Our daughter is still sick with the flu and not able to work.  This has been a tough year for her in trying to get in work hours.  Fortunately they put her on a part-time basis.

Pat, I read the article and the painters comments.  Al, I am not sure he was talking about the same thing as the article since one mentioned the train station and he said he wouldn't display it in the park, if I recall correctly.  I was not familiar with that website and have put it in my bookmarks for new sites to monitor.

Janet, you have more energy and are so willing to help out.  Hope this job doesn't stress you as the other one did.  The literary agent business sounds interesting.  It is amazing what resources are available on the Internet on about any subject.

Kathleen, another beautiful photo.  Landscapes and flowers are my favorite subjects for photos and paintings.  Sure hope you are feeling better today.

Marilyn, I don't think eating a diabetic diet would harm any of us.

Another rainy day in Indiana.  It did stop raining hard so I could take my trash to Kaye Don's driveway.  I still carried the umbrella.  Second week in a row that I went in their back door to visit with them and they were gone.  They keep the tires hot on their car!

Not much else going on here.  Just hanging out and keeping my mind occupied.

So, it's "slow start" day! :)
