JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Brrr!  It's cold in Indiana.  And since I am leaving for Nashville, Indiana, tomorrow after my class lunch, I needed to mow the grass today!  I was suited up like an Eskimo!  And my face still got cold.  And wouldn't you believe it, now the sun is shining.  But it is still only in the low 50's!

I came in and fixed my famous Instant Potato Soup.  It sure felt good going down and warming me from head to toe!

Ivalou is coming over after the mail runs to get a lesson on Cat Feeding 101!  She isn't going to go to the Womens Retreat in Nashville, so she is getting my mail and feeding the girls!

Then I have to remember to pack!  I don't know whether to pack capris or long pants.  Winter or summer clothes!!  I don't plan on being outside other than to go eat somewhere so I will probably just pack comfy clothes.

Jacob's mother, Sheree, wrote today on Facebook...Jacob's heart rate, respiration, and temperature have been up so they are keeping him in ICU - hopefully will be able to transfer him to the brain injury unit tomorrow. They have him completely off the ventilator today and he is doing well. Plan to get him up again today in chair after lunch for several hours. Praying, praying, praying for healing, being restored, and signs of waking up!

Looks like a little hiccup but still progress!  I just keep seeing Jacob walking across the stage to get his high school diploma with the rest of his class!

I looked up Shepherds Spinal Center on Google Earth...a huge center.  I also think I saw where Stacey lives!!  Gotta love Google Earth!

Janet

Jane, what good news, and what a sweet baby!  How old is she now?  Sounds as if Bryan has really grown up, and is taking responsibility far beyond what is required of him.  Way to go, Bry!

Etta Sue, thanks for keeping us updated on Jacob.  I will pray and visualize him walking across that stage and receiving his diploma, too.  There is power in prayer!

Beth asked me to bring my Bible today when I visited her.  When I got there, she asked me to read several specific passages of Scripture---all about Jesus healing people.  Several times, it says...."and he healed them ALL."  Then we prayed together before I left.  We WILL keep on believing, holding on to God's promises.  He is no respecter of persons, and He is still in the miracle business!

Ruth

I have come to get current on all of the posts and also to have peace and mental rest after spending time on the phone with someone that is starting to loose short term memory.

This truly is a place of rest.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Jeanne Lee

Ruth, I'm praying for strength for you as you deal with the person on the phone.

Jane, it doesn't seem possible Karmen can be that big already!   :)  What a wonderful solution to Joy's living situation - a solution to warm a grandmother's heart!   ;)

Etta Sue, it's good the hear that Jacob is making some progress.  It's bound to be a long session to overcome such a major injury.

Janet, it is so uplifting to read of Beth's strong faith that a miracle will be sent her way.

Thanks, Janet and Jeanne ... Karmen is 10 months old now.   Joy says that, when she got into her new room (with several full length mirrors) she pulled herself up to a mirror and leaned her head into that baby, then began kissing her!  I guess she thinks that's a sweet baby, too!  :) Becky is just happy to have "a door to close and a closet to hang our clothes" ... she's grateful for the small things so many of us take for granted.  Bry is the one who wants "good stuff" for her ... he wouldn't let her bring any of the secondhand stuff she was using at Candice's ... he wanted nice furniture that would go well with his high-end furniture.  Yup, I'm really proud of my guy Bry!   :thumbsup:
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Carol

Jane:  Are they now a bit closer to you?  That is quite an undertaking for your Brian and I wish the three of them every success.

My two days of running or having company is over - whew!  Come join me for turkey veggie soup and bread pudding made from leftover French bread.

JudyB

Wow she is adorable.  I understand the "stuff" and I am glad things are working out better.

Took a trip into town today, needed sewing machine needles.  All mine are broken. What a surprise they were 40% off!

Pray everyone has a good day, and may God bless each of you.

Marilyn

I fell and hit my head today when out walking the dogs. Bebe crossed over behind me and I was trying to get her leash off my arm when I fell. I hit my head and hurt both knees and my left wrist. I have a small laceration above the corner of my left eyebrow. I don't think it needs a stitch but I've had a headache ever since, it seem to be subsiding now. and I am sitting here icing my knee. Tonight is going to be an uncomfortable night  trying to sleep without pain.

Marilyn:  Sorry about your fall with the dogs.  I hope you can sleep through the night.

Ruth Ann Bice

I, too, deal with "stuff" so I empathize with y'all. What a sweet photo, Jane!

Janet, yes, I understand the strong desire to be healed on Beth's part. Please let her know we're ALL praying both with and for her, believing that God loves each of us in His own individual ways. We pray for you, too, as you and Darrel deal with this extended illness. May God's richest blessings be with all of you.

Ruth, short term memory loss is so difficult to endure. A close family friend has that, and sometimes her daughters simply have to correct her. How sad it makes me.

Marilyn, get better! Larry, please let Stacey and Pat know that I'll be praying with and for y'all, as well.

If I missed anyone's posting, please forgive me. I most likely am suffering from "tired brain" tonight. Well, since I'm sooooo tired, so will close for tonight.

Much love to everyone who comes this way,
Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Janet

Jane, do you mind my asking what Bryan is doing now?  I remember how he struggled for a long time, and am so happy to hear that he is doing well now.

Ruth Ann, thanks for your kind words and for continuing prayer for Beth---and for us!

I have been up for hours already, feeding my spirit, and now it's time to get some work done.

I am about ready to leave for my Class Lunch today.  Kitty is going with me.  When I bring her back home, I will go get Betty and head south to Nashville, IN, for our Womens Retreat!  It's always a great time of fun, learning and fellowship.  Ivalou is staying home and taking care of my fur girls!

I remembered just now...and why I didn't sooner, I don't know...that I could post a link so you can see photos of Jacob.  Then those who wish to pray for Jacob can 'see' who they are praying for.  Here's the link for his
Caring Bridge site.  You can click on a photo and then 'next' to see all of them.  I just remember his baby blues!  And typical of most boys his age, his hair in his eyes.  Thank you for all the prayers for Jacob.  I noticed this morning that his group 'Prayers for Jacob Bolling' on Facebook is 914 members.  How wonderful is that?

I best be moseying on!  Pray for travel mercies for me today and Saturday returning back home.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Yesterday was a fun morning and then a restful afternoon.  Stacey was allowed to go from the rehab, after a rehab session she said was pretty intense, back up to her apartment to get some clothing.  A friend from the apartments, who has Stacey's old power chair, had come to see her and accompanied her back to her apartment.  She said the ride was pretty tough on her and she called again fairly early last night to say she was going to sleep as was worn out.  We had a call from the rehad center to set up an appointment to discuss her care plan.  We can do this by telephone.  Today's big activity is to finish up and file the taxes and that will be a relief.  It got down to 38 degrees this morning but should get back into the 60s today.

Jane, what a cute picture of Karmen on the plane.  It looks like she is taking it all in.

Etta Sue, Stacey lives in the Darlington Apartments is exactly across the street from the Shepard's Center.  They share the same traffic light  It is the large building 15 story building with the four wings.  It sounds like Jacob is making progress.

Marilyn, I read your posting about falling on Facebook.  You really banged yourself up.

Etta Sue, I think we have to have a password to access the Caring Bridge site.  I have accessed it before for a former choir friend.  Have a great retreat.

Hiding in Thee
(Click to hear music)

Author:  William O. Cushing, 1823-1902
Musician:  Ira D. Sankey, 1840-1908

O safe to the Rock that is higher than I,
My soul in its conflicts and sorrows would fly;
So sinful, so weary, Thine, Thine, would I be;
Thou blest "Rock of Ages," I'm hiding in Thee.

Refrain
Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee,
Thou blest "Rock of Ages,"
I'm hiding in Thee.

In the calm of the noontide, in sorrow's lone hour,
In times when temptation casts over me its power;
In the tempests of life, on its wide, heaving sea,
Thou blest "Rock of Ages," I'm hiding in Thee.

Refrain

How oft in the conflict, when pressed by the foe,
I have fled to my refuge and breathed out my woe;
How often, when trials like sea billows roll,
Have I hidden in Thee, O Thou Rock of my soul.

Refrain

Janet, Bryan is a100% disabled veteran, and receiving disability pay from the US Army.  He is doing odd jobs -- mostly landscaping -- and has a few "clients" for whom he is personal trainer.  He also is quite active as a leader in his church youth group.  He is still "struggling" but makes the most of what he has and can do.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Another Friday has rolled around.  I am just back from coffee at the Senior Center.  Today should be a laid back day although have a few things I need to do.  A friend is coming by in a few minutes and will be here about an hour.  Sometime today I need to make a trip to Walmart to pick up some things we need.  I spoke with Stacey last evening and she seemed more cheerful.  She said she is moving a little better and was able to do the rehab they asked her to do.  She says she likes the food and has found out that by next week the floor she is on, which has been the memory impaired floor, will be changed to a regular rehab floor.  So there should be folks there she can communicate with after this week.

Jane, it sounds like Bryan is building a life around what is doable for him.

Al and Jeanne, good to see you here this morning.  I was here earlier but had to leave for coffee and now I am gone again.

Jeanne Lee

Larry, it's good to see that Stacey is making some progress.  I would guess it will be a long and slow process.

No One Cared For Me Like Jesus
(Click to hear music)

I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus
Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true;
I would tell you how He changed my life completely -
He did something that no other friend could do.

chorus:
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There's no other friend so kind as He;
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me -
O how much He cared for me!

All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me;
All my heart was full of misery and woe;
Jesus placed His strong and loving arms around me,
And He led me in the way I ought to go.

Every day He comes to me with new assurance,
More and more I understand His words of love;
But I'll never know just why He came to save me,
Till some day I see His blessed face above
.

JudyB

Charles Weigle was an Itinerant evangelist.  One day after preaching at a gospel crusade, he came home to find a note from his wife.  She did not care for the life she led because of being an evangelist's wife and she was leaving him.

The next few years were a time of despair for Weigle.  He even wondered if anyone really cared for him.  After a time, his faith was again restored and he became active for the Lord again.

During this time he wanted to put to paper a song that would share the feelings he had experienced while during his despondent days.

From his heart came the words and the tune for the hymn,  "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus."

Judy thanks so much for putting in this wonderful hymn!  I've just played it over and over again enjoying every minute of it.   When we feel "low" in our spirits, how wonderful to feel the thrill of Jesus in our soul!

Yes, "All that Thrills MY Soul is JESUS!!!!"

All That Thrills My Soul Is Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Who can cheer the heart like Jesus,
By His presence all divine?
True and tender, pure and precious,
O how blest to call Him mine!

Chorus:
All that thrills my soul is Jesus;
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand,
In my blessed Lord I see.

Love of Christ so freely given.
Grace of God beyond degree,
Mercy higher than the heaven,
Deeper then the deepest sea.

Chorus

What a wonderful redemption!
Never can a mortal know
How my sin, tho' red like crimson,
Can be whiter than the snow.

Chorus

Every need His hand supplying,
Every good in Him I see;
On His strength divine relying,
He is all in all to me.

Chorus

By the crystal flowing river
With the ransomed I will sing,
And forever and forever
Praise and glorify the King.

Chorus:
All that thrills my soul is Jesus;
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand,
In my blessed Lord I see.

I am at the Womens Retreat in Nashville, Indiana.  The theme this year is Seaside Escape.  Sand, water, waves, ocean, everything I love!

We have a break this afternoon for do whatever we want to do.  Some are shopping but I have found that the shops all have the same thing they had 10 years ago.  It's a tourist town with all kinds of little shops for this and that.  So I am in my room while the rest is out spending money!

Jacob is out of ICU.  Today they even dressed him with his street clothes!  Everyone is praying for him to 'Wake Up!'

My window here overlooks a huge parking lot.  I see the attendant just place orange cones at the entrance signifying that it is FULL!  Lot's of shoppers!

Pat

It's so good to be able to catch up in here.  Life has been so busy for me lately with travel and looking after the websites that I look after.  Also, I'm trying so hard to get a crocheted baby gift done and the baby is to be born on April 24TH!!!!!

Ruth, I know what you mean about finding this a wonderful place!  It really is a chore to try to talk to someone with short term memory loss.  My heart goes out to you.

I'm so sorry, Larry that you've had to do so much travel lately but when our children request our presence,  we sure want to be there!  My love to Pat and also Stacey when you next see her.  Will continue to pray for her healing.

Thank you for the devotional this week, Etta Sue.  I missed Easter services this year except Good Friday.  Paul and I attended a lovely Good Friday service at the little Baptist church we attend in Winchester, VA and then I did the long trek home Saturday and then found out after arriving at church here in Guelph an hour late that yes, we had the clocks change while I was away and I forgot!!!

Wonderful to see you posting again, Al!!!  Hope you are starting to feel strong and able to do some things.  I will continue to pray for you my dear friend.

Such a lovely visit with Beth, Janet!  It's so nice that she requested that you bring your Bible and have a nice read together.

Jane, what a wonderful photo of Karmen!  I can't believe she's 10 months already.  How time does fly!

Judy what a cat chase!!!  I can just almost see it happening!  And what a touching story behind "No One Ever Cared for me like Jesus!"  How true!  How true!  :)

It's lovely to see you in here, Betty!  Hope you're keeping well and hope that your father is doing well too!

Hi Jeanne!

Off to do more crocheting.  Then I will try to go out for coffee with good friends!

Hello everyone I am still here. I don't have ay of the symptoms of a concussion just some dizziness that is exactly like the Bilateral Paroxamyl Positional Vertigo that is a recurring  problem for me. The head wound is healing nicely, I clean it every night with Betadine and then put on Tea tree oil and a bandaid. So I am just taking it easy and resting for a few days. I did go to the gym yesterday and today for a token workout and socializing with Jane and the other ladies.

I have lost 5.6 lbs since March 29th on this new  weight loss program I am doing. actually I lost that in the first week, then had Mexican dinner last Friday and gained some of it back but now I am back to where I was last Friday before the dinner.

Well, I was on  a weigsht-loss program for a while.  It's called "Eat hospital  food."  Then I got home, and now I eat Marbeth's cookings, and I like it!  So it's a weight-gain  program.  But I'm sure enjoying it!

Marilyn

Pat I am  on the Sensa program trysensa.com You can eat whatever you want as long as you sprinkle the  stuff on everything  except liquids and drink 64 oz of water every day. Check it out.

OMG Pat I weighed 183 and  looked about 9 months pregnant.  My measurement  were awful.
but I'm glad you thought I looked like I didn't need to lose any. :eek: I lost 5.6 lbs in one week then I gained back some over last  weekend  but now have lost it again. Mexican food and Chinese food have too much salt and make you retain water it takes a few day to wash out all that salt.

I am feeling happier now that my studio is usable again!  I spent the whole day yesterday painting, except for the time to go to lunch and to visit Beth.  I didn't realize how much it was bugging me to have it in such a mess!  My spirit just doesn't seem to fare well in the midst of chaos!  And the whole place was basically a mess for eight long months!  And in the midst of that, my book was published and I have been working on promoting it.  I need to find more ways to do that, as I haven't sold any this week, and have the new order of 100 setting here!

I had to go get our car tags today.  That takes a bite out of the ol' wallet!  And Pat cut and styled my hair, so I'm looking better!

Now to go order a batch of mat boards!  I WILL catch up, some day.  I will catch up some day!  I WILL CATCH UP SOME DAY!!  ;)

Pat, sure is good to see your posts today!  You too, Al!
