:) Quote of the Week :thumbsup:

What shall I give you, Lord, in return for all Your kindness?
Glory to You for Your love.
Glory to You for Your mercy.
Glory to You for Your patience.
Glory to You for forgiving us all our sins.
Glory to You for coming to save our souls.
Glory to You for Your incarnation in the virgin's womb.
Glory to You for Your bonds.
Glory to You for receiving the cut of the lash.
Glory to You for accepting mockery.
Glory to You for Your crucifixion.
Glory to You for Your burial.
Glory to You for Your resurrection.
Glory to You who were preached to men and women.
Glory to You in whom they believed.
Glory to You who were taken up into heaven.
Glory to You who sit in great glory at the Father's right hand.
Glory to You whose will it is that the sinner should be saved through Your great mercy and compassion.

Morning Devotional...

Jesus is Alive!
John 20:1-18 NLT

  Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.  She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, "They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"

  Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb.  They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.  He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn't go in.  Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings.  Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed—for until then they still hadn't understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.  Then they went home.

  Mary was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stooped and looked in.  She saw two white-robed angels, one sitting at the head and the other at the foot of the place where the body of Jesus had been lying.  "Dear woman, why are you crying?" the angels asked her.

"Because they have taken away my Lord," she replied, "and I don't know where they have put him."

  She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn't recognize him.  "Dear woman, why are you crying?" Jesus asked her. "Who are you looking for?"

She thought he was the gardener. "Sir," she said, "if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him."

  "Mary!" Jesus said.

She turned to him and cried out, "Rabboni!" (which is Hebrew for "Teacher").

  "Don't cling to me," Jesus said, "for I haven't yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

  Mary Magdalene found the disciples and told them, "I have seen the Lord!" Then she gave them his message.

   Jesus' resurrection is the key to Christian faith.  Why?

   (1) Just as he said, Jesus rose from the dead.  We can be confident, therefore, that he will accomplish all he has promised.

   (2) Jesus' bodily resurrection shows us that the living Christ, not a false prophet or imposter, is ruler of God's eternal Kingdom.

   (3) We can be certain of our own resurrection because Jesus was resurrected.  Death is not the end--there is a future life.

   (4) The divine power that brought Jesus back to life is now available to bring spiritually dead people back to life.

   (5) The Resurrection is the basis for the church's witness to the world.  When you go to church on Easter Sunday, rejoice in what the Resurrection means for you.

What a glorious day to celebrate Christ's arising!  It is beautiful out!

I am all ready to be a greeter at church today.  I am sure I will see many people I haven't seen for awhile, not because it is Easter but because it has been awhile since I was a greeter.

Hi everyone on this beautiful Easter day.  We will miss the Easter service this morning and instead make another trip to the hospital to spend time with our daughter.  Our visit yesterday seems to buoy her up a bit.  When we got there yesterday she was in terrible pain.  They had given her pain medication and it began to work and we saw she needed to sleep so we went to the waiting room for a couple of hours, checking on her every little bit and saw she was sleeping.  By mid-afternoon she seemed to be better as the end of the 3rd day had passed.  So we are hopeful that today we will find her feeling better.  It is likely she will go to the rehab facility tomorrow.For some reason she wants us there when they move her so we will probably go back to the hospital again tomorrow also.

Etta Sue, so sorry to hear of Marge's car being hit by the truck.  I can relate since that is what happened to us before Christmas.  I take it she wasn't injured in the crash?  I am sure Jacob is in very good hands.  I know where the families stay and it is a very nice building although have never been inside.  The Woodruff's from Coca Cola fame have been very instrumental in things related to the Shepard's Spinal Center.  I haven't a clue as to why your computer working in the background would overheat.  Something must be using all of the CPU memory.  Thanks for the fine devotional for this Easter Week.

Ruth Ann, the doctor told us after Stacey's surgery that she had lost only about half as much as normal but more bleeding must have occurred.  Pat was able to see the incision site yesterday and said it really looked good.

Carol, you all had a very busy day yesterday.  Hope the treatment will stop the nose bleeds for Don.  That can be so annoying.

Janet, it is obvious that your meals for your friends are very much appreciated.  You are a blessing to many people and more so now that your book is circulating.  I understand your feeling of hurt in seeing your daughter continue to struggle and not get better.

Al, I agree with you that we should celebrate Christ's resurrection every Sunday.  I have never been able to understand why our churches are full on Christmas and Easter and not the rest of the year.

Hi Betty and Judy and all those who stop by to read and hopefully post something.

There is only One, One Who stands outside the universe, amd brought about the universe originally, Who can bring about new life.  That One is GOD the Creator and Ruler of all, the One Who first said, "Let tlhere be . . ." and tlhere was. Jesus rose from the dead in the power of the Creator-God, and now He lives eternally, coequal. with the Father and able to give YOU new life.  O blessed be our Lord and GOD!

Crown Him with Many Crowns (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/diademata.mp3)
(Click to hear music)

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns;
and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Revelation 19:12

Author:  Matthew Bridges, 1800-1894, and
Godfrey Thring, 1823-1903
Musician:  George J. Elvey, 1816-1893

Crown Him with many crowns, The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! how the heav'nly anthem drowns All music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King Thro' all eternity.

Crown Him the Son of God Before the worlds began:
And ye, who tread where He hath trod, Crown Him the Son of man;
Who ev'ry grief hath known That wrings the human breast,
And takes and bears them for His own, That all in Him may rest.

Crown Him the Lord of love! Behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above, In beauty glorified:
No angel in the sky Can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his wond'ring eye At mysteries so bright.

Crown Him the Lord of life, Who triumphed o'er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife For those He came to save;
His glories now we sing Who died, and rose on high,
Who died, eternal life to bring, And lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of years, The Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres Ineffably sublime!
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou hast died for me:
Thy praise shall never, never fail Thro'out eternity.

The gates and doors were barred
And all the windows fastened down
I spent the night in sleeplessness
And rose at every sound
Half in hopeless sorrow
And half in fear the day
Would find the soldiers breakin' through
To drag us all away

And just before the sunrise
I heard something at the wall
The gate began to rattle
And a voice began to call
I hurried to the window
Looked down into the street
Expecting swords and torches
And the sound of soldiers' feet

But there was no one there but Mary
So I went down to let her in
John stood there beside me
As she told me where she'd been
She said they might have moved Him in the night
And none of us knows where
The stone's been rolled away
And now His body isn't there

We both ran toward the garden
Then John ran on ahead
We found the stone and empty tomb
Just the way that Mary said
But the winding sheet they wrapped Him in
Was just an empty shell
And how or where they'd taken Him
Was more than I could tell

Oh something strange had happened there
Just what I did not know
John believed a miracle
But I just turned to go
Circumstance and speculation
Couldn't lift me very high
'Cause I'd seen them crucify him
Then I saw him die

Back inside the house again
The guilt and anguish came
Everything I'd promised Him
Just added to my shame
When at last it came to choices
I denied I knew His name
And even if He was alive
It wouldn't be the same

But suddenly the air was filled
With a strange and sweet perfume
Light that came from everywhere
Drove the shadows from the room
And Jesus stood before me
With his arms held open wide
And I fell down on my knees
And I just clung to Him and cried

Then He raised me to my feet
And as I looked into His eyes
The love was shining out from Him
Like sunlight from the skies
Guilt in my confusion
Dissappeared in sweet release
And every fear I'd ever had
Just melted into peace

He's alive yes He's alive
Yes He's alive and I'm forgiven
Heaven's gates are open wide
He's alive yes He's alive
Oh He's alive and I'm forgiven
Heaven's gates are open wide
He's alive yes He's alive
Hallelujah He's alive
He's alive and I'm forgiven
Heaven's gates are open wide
He's alive He's alive He's alive
I believe it He's alive
Sweet Jesus

That song by Don Francisco is a favorite of mine!  And this morning, our son-in-law Jeff was in a skit to that song, playing the part of Peter.  It was very moving.  Jeff is a good actor and always willing to do things like that.

Pastor Pam had the elders gather around Beth, they anointed her with oil and prayed for her.  Praise God!

We had a lovely time with family  today, and Beth was able to tolerate being in her wheelchair until about 2:45.   So we got to hide eggs and watch the little girls hunt them.  My sister Jeanie was there with her two granddaughters, so we had four little girls, such fun.  And my! What a wonderful meal we had!  Diane, Toni, Abby and I cooked lots of good things which were really enjoyed.

Now I think I feel a nap coming on!  ;)

OK I will tell you about my evening before bed, last night.  We have birds.....and we have cats.  Enough said?  Well one of the cats made it to the top of the flight cage which stands 6 feet off the ground.  We make it a practice to put the cats into the bathroom with their litter before going to bed.  White one "Fluffy" went in willingly.  "Pumpkin" the multi-coloured one wasn't quite so willing.  She is under a year I suspect in cat years she is a teenager! I went to pick her up and she darted upstairs.  Cimi who usually is able to corral the cats quickly went after her with my "Get the cat!"  she found the cat and again I went to pick her up and she darted again.  Again Cimi found her and the cat darted.  Upstairs, downstairs, upstairs again, and again downstairs.  She was really on to us.  So I encouraged her with food.  She looked at me and jumped up on a chair.  She was watching me and didn't see John.  He caught her.  over 1/2 hour of chasing.  Fluffy has a 2+ month old kitten I call Spitfire.  He hisses and claws anyone and everyone be it 4 legged or 2.  I went to get him and up the stairs he goes!  Cim was faster, and managed to stop him before the cat reached the top.  We could see another chase beginning.  Anyone want a cat???  Oh and my birds are ok.  The flight cage seems to be cat proof!

What a lovely Easter!  I hope that Jeff and Linda's family knows how much I enjoy being with all of them at holidays or anytime.  Little Kailin is so cute.  She is a bright, red head with the cutest turned up nose.  She is 4 and is a talker and thinker!  She even had me being a tiger and she was a zebra!  We growled at each other and I pawed the ground!  She's a sweetie.  And little Brenna is only 9 months old.  Smiles at everything.  She gets in a standing position.  Let's go.  Does the hula dance and falls down!  Then does it again.

And while we were together Sheree wrote on Facebook that Jacob is resting now and they are taking away some of his meds.  Shepherds think that his pneumonia is gone and will have a chest x-ray done this morning.  But they are sure he has an abcess in his right lung.  Sheree was happy to cook yesterday for Baxter and her.  She said she never thought she would be happy to cook again!  She really likes the apartment and Shepherd facility.

I am heading to the DDS in a few minutes to get a broken tooth repaired on my old partial.  I will be able to pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee at McDonald's and doing a few errands.  After going to downtown Atlanta for three days in a row to be with Stacey we plan on staying home today as both Pat and I are pretty worn out.  Stacey is suppose to be moved to rehab sometime today.  She is having a lot of pain and we think they have given her so much pain medication that she isn't in her right mind all the time as some of her behavior has been less than commendable.  I think the doctors are doing all they can to help with Stacey's pain and the doctor told us yesterday they are concerned about giving her too much and stopping her breathing.  She has also had some chest pains and they took her yesterday morning for a CT scan and ultrasound as they were looking for possible blood clots but those tests didn't show any.  She has taken so much strong pain medication over such a long time that it is taking large amounts now for the hip pain.  Pat and I were are fearful that she won't do the exercises in rehab that is required and is going to end up bedfast.

Jeanne, a very appropriate graphic and it certainly captures the eye.

Judy, have enjoyed the Easter hymns you have posted.  We missed the church service yesterday, the first time on Easter for many years.

Janet, glad that Beth was up to attending the services yesterday and the prayers are very appropriate.  Your Easter dinner sounds wonderful.  The one we had at the hospital cafeteria left a lot to be desired other than the piece of chocolate pie, which was excellent.

Betty, a nice little break from work is always enjoyable and usually refreshing.

Etta Sue, yesterday while we were at the hospital I went over the Shepard's center and up to Jacob's room.  I didn't go in as both the parents were standing by Jacobs bed holding his hands and talking to him.  What a handsome young man.  I got their eye and told them they didn't know me but that I had known you for quite a few years.  I left my card telling them to contact me if there was anything I might do for them.  I was only there a couple of minutes.

We are going over our separate "To Do" lists this morning and making some headway.  Easter visit was with only 1/4th of the family and still we are grateful.  We did spend Sat with two of the boys and the last one was out-of-town.  Must say, that the Easter service we attended left us feeling disappointed - there was a new pastor at daughter's church and daughter & family felt the same.  The message was "He is Risen" so that we did like - unfortunately, too many people talked and talked so we all missed a lot of the service and Don couldn't hear it at all.  The sermon became political and we felt that was uncalled for in an Easter service, not that we like it at anytime.  It was such a strange experience.

Anyway, I should be able to get to my bible study this Wed morning and have a group of gals coming in the afternoon for a monthly "Needle Arts" meeting.  As soon as it gets warmer today, we are going out to the open space area behind our house to pick up a few things of trash thrown in by the awful wind storms.

Larry:  I am sorry about all the pain Stacey has to endure and so many set backs.  May she continue to heal and feel better.  Nice of you to introduce yourself to the parents of Jason (Etta Sue's postings).

Thy Name is as ointment poured forth.
Song of Solomon 1:3

Words & Music: Lela B. Long

There have been names that I have loved to hear,
But never has there been a name so dear
To this heart of mine, as the Name divine,
The precious, precious Name of Jesus.

Refrain
Jesus is the sweetest name I know,
And He's just the same as His lovely Name,
And that's the reason why I love Him so;
Oh, Jesus is the sweetest name I know.

There is no name in earth or heav'n above,
That we should give such honor and such love
As the blessed Name, let us all acclaim,
That wondrous, glorious Name of Jesus.

And some day I shall see Him face to face
To thank and praise Him for His wondrous grace,
Which He gave to me, when He made me free,
The blessed Son of God called Jesus.

I am home after working at the Legacy (care home) today.  I thought surely it must be near noon, looked and saw it was barely 9:00!  The morning just dragged along...... :P

Since getting home, I have called one of my framing suppliers, I hadn't bought from them in a long time, as business has been so slow I didn't need anything until now.  They had purged me from their system!  So I asked if that meant they do not want to sell to me?  So that gal got another one on the phone; she took my information again, assigned me a new customer # and now I can order from them, but not on open account.  I will just use a credit card, matters not to me!  So next, I emailed them a list of the mat boards and frames I need so they can let me know which ones they still have and which have been discontinued.

Larry, I'm sorry things are still so tough for Stacey.  I know that the more pain meds one takes, the more they need.  What a trying life she has!  And hard for you and Pat, as well.  I do so admire your outlook, though.  And the closer I get to heaven, the more I think, "How bad can it be?  If one isn't here, and knows the Lord, they got a promotion!"  Now, you may need to remind me of this statement in the future....

My Mom went to heaven one year ago today.  Seems like such a short time, not a year!

The DON caught me as I left from work and told me she heard from the PT Dr. they sent Beth's records to; and she says she doesn't think there is anything she can do for her.  I told her that I didn't want to hear that!  She said she was telling me so she wouldn;t have to tell Beth....... :(  :'(

Etta Sue, are you a good growler?  Did you (the lion) catch the Zebra?  Cute!  We sure enjoyed the little girls yesterday, so fun and refreshing to have children around again!

While I was feeding Beth yesterday, Lexi, who is four, looked at me so seriously and said, "Now Grandma, you be careful and don't hurt her teeth!"

I am going to TRY not to take a nap, so maybe I will sleep better tonight.  Last night I woke up almost every hour.

Judy, not fun trying to catch a wary cat!  When mine runs from me, it really aggravates me!  She knows I'm not going to hurt her, but sometimes gets so paranoid and runs around and around through the house.  Lately, I yell at her,  slap my thigh, and point to the open door, and she scoots out!  NOT going to chase that little monster!  (And yes, I do love the silly thing.)  She loves to get in my lap for a good cuddling/petting session, usually in the early morning.

Happy is still vomiting today is the third day. I called the vet and he sad no food or meds just water and ice cube until he goes in tomorrow at 3:45.

Janet i feel so sad for Beth, you both had such hopes that maybe the PT could help  her.

Larry praying for Stacey here.

Al good to see you too.

Etta sue aren't the little ones great. We can act silly with them and  no one thinks anything of it.

Hi, friends,

I felt so bad yesterday that I missed church. Then, slept most of the day, and was back in bed before 9 pm. That sinus infection sure had me in its grips. Today, it's breaking up.

It was another busy one - taking an elderly lady to the doctor, trying to help her see that she did NOT have another appointment today, but it will be at 1 pm tomorrow, instead. I fear her cognition is beginning to fail. Next was a very long appointment with the dentist (also for some work on my partial plate), then o the repair shop for the new tail light assembly.

Y'all have a great rest of the day.

Even after another "J" night, I feel my hope and confidence in the Lord being renewed!  I forced myself out of bed at 5:30 so I could listen to Joseph Prince.  And God is so faithful....He always rewards me with truth and fresh understanding of the scriptures when I listen to that young man--wow, what a powerful message he always brings.  He ALWAYS points us to JESUS!

Ruth Ann, I am praying for health and strength for you.  The enemy is set on keeping you down because you are such a faithful servant of the Lord, always going about doing good.  (((((hugs)))))

Marilyn, you sure do have a time with your dogs, don't you?  This problem surely isn't related to the recent surgery, is it?

Tate publishing is now doing a 45 second book trailer on my book, which is to be ready by the end of this month.  I hope you will see it on TV!  And....I received the additional shipment of 100 books yesterday.  Now I need more opportunities to promote the book.

I'd best go check my calendar and see what's on it for today!

grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin!

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
threaten the soul with infinite loss;
grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Chorus:
Grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin!

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can avail to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
brighter than snow you may be today.

Chorus:
Grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin!

Whew!  Good thing I did check my calendar!  I had an 8:30 chiropractic appointment, and they always call the day before to remind you---but Darrel forgot to tell me.  I was a half hour late, but still had to wait, so all is well on that front.  I heard a still, small voice reminding me "check the calendar" and didn't obey immediately.  My bad.

We are still having cool and cloudy weather, which is nice.  More rain would be even nicer, but we appreciate this, too.

Later, peeps!

Ruth Ann ~ Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well but you seem to be better today.  I got your package Saturday.  I noticed on the address label you had '18th St.'.  Someone wrote above it '186th??'.  I got it.  I live on 186th St.  18th Street is in Indianapolis...the higher numbers are Noblesville.  But no problem!

Janet ~ So sorry you got bad news from the DON.  Something that no one wants to hear!  Glad you made it to your chiropractor! And hope you sell 100 more books lickety split!

Marilyn ~  Our fur kids sure do worry us when they aren't feeling well.  Ali is never sick since she had an FUTI years ago.  Inky has something bothering her digestive system about once every 3-6 months.  Constipation and upset stomach.  Then it goes away for a long while!

Larry ~ I am so glad you got to see Jacob and his parents, Sheree and Baxter.  She went me a PM on Facebook saying she got to see you even though it was a short visit.  I guess Jacob still has the contagious disease and everyone still has to be 'suited up' before entering his room.  She said they had him in his wheelchair yesterday...was suppose to be for 2 hours but ended up closer to 6 hours.  They would sit him in different positions and move his limbs for him.  Last evening he moved both his arms at once toward his chest and back out...just like the nurses were doing earlier!!!  He is still in a coma but they are weaning him from sedation and all.  And yes, Jacob is a very handsome young man.  They say he has a weird haircut due to the surgery on his head but otherwise he pretty much looks like Jacob!  Sheree said it was so nice to see someone that knew them even if it was a friend of a friend.  Hopefully you can meet her without her coverings soon.  Today is Day 34 of Jacob's Recovery!

And Larry, so sad that Stacey is having to have so much pain meds.  I don't even like to take an aspirin but if I did, I would sleep like a lamb!

Carol ~ A political message for Easter?  What were they thinking?  Never heard of that before!

JudyB ~ I forgot to comment about your cat antics but I understand fully what they can do!  Mine will chase each other until you can literally see the fur fly!

Jeanne ~ I haven't played with little ones for so many years that at first, I thought...I can't be a tiger...what would others think?  Then I thought...I am old...who cares what people thinks!!...I want to play with Kailin.  It was so much fun!  But she lost interest when I asked what kind of noise a zebra makes...I guess she didn't know!  Don't they sound kind of like a horse neighing?

Well, today I went to the pool.  Then I took a Chemo Wrap to the hospital.  We have a small restaurant called Ginger's Cafe and went there for breakfast...one biscuit with gravy and crispy hash browns.  While I was there I noticed I had a Voice Mail.  It was the dentist office saying that my partial was back already and I could come get it anytime but not between 1 and 2pm...that is lunch.

So I left there and went to Meijer's.  I finally found some sandals that weren't thongs or heels!  I got two pair...also some milk and a few other items.

Then the dentist is about 6 miles from there.  I got there after noon.  The false tooth on the partial was high so the dentist had to grind it down...so partial in, grind on this paper, partial out, grind the tooth down and over and over again.  All this time we were talking about Hawaii and what to see on the islands!!  Finally the partial fit fine and my Hawaii fix was satisfied also!!

Now I am doing some laundry!

Hi everyone.  We made another trip to Atlanta this morning.  Stacey was moved to the rehab center last evening after six pm.  The social worker called yesterday afternoon to tell us the rehab center did not object to her having the power chair so they can teach her to transfer to it properly.  They also will allow her to go to a designated area to smoke so she was bit happier.  After going to her room for a few minutes we went back to her apartment to get the chair and a few other items she had requested and then I drove the chair back the two tenths of a mile to where she is.  We didn't stay as the occupational therapist was there to evaluate her.  When we got back to our town we stopped at McDonalds for a quick lunch.  I laid down to rest  for an hour or so. We are in for the rest of this beautiful day.

I am so far behind in the readings since yesterday morning that I am not going to make many individual comments, although have carefully read all the postings.

Janet, it doesn't seem very professional for the DON person to put that responsibility on you.  It seems it is another set back in Beth long and difficult life (and not forgetting what it does to you as well).

Etta Sue, I didn't notice that Jacob's parents had on special garb but may well have.  I just felt it wasn't appropriate to go into the room and certainly glad I did not.  It sounds like he is beginning to make some progress which must be very encouraging.

Ruth Ann, hope today finds you feeling better.

Hi, friends, I'm back from an exhausting day of being with an elderly lady. She needed to go to doctor, get meds, etc., and her difficulties with cognition made all this difficult. By the time I got home, I was ready for a rest!

Now, it's time for a "beauty rest." So, I'll close tonight. It's been wonderful hearing your conversations today.

Much love to everyone,
Ruth Ann

Sorry I have not been visible here for a while.  I have been involved with a lot of family "stuff" but can, finally, come here to let y'all know of the very latest developments with my grandkids.  :)

Yesterday Becky and Karmen flew from Southern California to Northern California to move in with Bryan, in Rocklin, CA.  This is truly a big step toward their future.  Bryan has a two bedroom apartment and he has taken it upon  himself to help his cousin get on with her life.  She has been sleeping on the couch in her sister's crowded mobile since I got her off the streets of Chicago, the end of July.  While Candice was happy to have her there, it just was not a good situation as Karmen grew and the space didn't.  Also, any opportunity for finding work and/or an apartment was non-existant there.

Bryan is excited to have company -- he gets lonely living alone with no family -- and has been buying baby things for several days, now.  He had his buddies come over yesterday, after an extended shopping spree to get crib, baby clothes, highchair, etc.  They wanted to meet Becky and the baby and, Joy says, it was love at first sight when they saw Karmen.  She said "you should have seen those big macho guys turn to mush over that little girl."  They told Bryan they really admire him for what he is doing for his cousin -- called him "the man."  I know that bouyed Bry's spirits.

I am just grateful that I was instrumental in getting this ball rolling, by getting Becky off the streets and into her sister's home with family and love for the first time in a few years.  There still are a few issues to be dealt with, but things are really looking up for all concerned.

Here's a picture of Karmen on the plane for her first plane ride.  I love it!

Brrr!  It's cold in Indiana.  And since I am leaving for Nashville, Indiana, tomorrow after my class lunch, I needed to mow the grass today!  I was suited up like an Eskimo!  And my face still got cold.  And wouldn't you believe it, now the sun is shining.  But it is still only in the low 50's!

I came in and fixed my famous Instant Potato Soup.  It sure felt good going down and warming me from head to toe!

Ivalou is coming over after the mail runs to get a lesson on Cat Feeding 101!  She isn't going to go to the Womens Retreat in Nashville, so she is getting my mail and feeding the girls!

Then I have to remember to pack!  I don't know whether to pack capris or long pants.  Winter or summer clothes!!  I don't plan on being outside other than to go eat somewhere so I will probably just pack comfy clothes.

Jacob's mother, Sheree, wrote today on Facebook...Jacob's heart rate, respiration, and temperature have been up so they are keeping him in ICU - hopefully will be able to transfer him to the brain injury unit tomorrow. They have him completely off the ventilator today and he is doing well. Plan to get him up again today in chair after lunch for several hours. Praying, praying, praying for healing, being restored, and signs of waking up!

Looks like a little hiccup but still progress!  I just keep seeing Jacob walking across the stage to get his high school diploma with the rest of his class!

I looked up Shepherds Spinal Center on Google Earth...a huge center.  I also think I saw where Stacey lives!!  Gotta love Google Earth!

Jane, what good news, and what a sweet baby!  How old is she now?  Sounds as if Bryan has really grown up, and is taking responsibility far beyond what is required of him.  Way to go, Bry!

Etta Sue, thanks for keeping us updated on Jacob.  I will pray and visualize him walking across that stage and receiving his diploma, too.  There is power in prayer!

Beth asked me to bring my Bible today when I visited her.  When I got there, she asked me to read several specific passages of Scripture---all about Jesus healing people.  Several times, it says...."and he healed them ALL."  Then we prayed together before I left.  We WILL keep on believing, holding on to God's promises.  He is no respecter of persons, and He is still in the miracle business!

Jane, it doesn't seem possible Karmen can be that big already!   :)  What a wonderful solution to Joy's living situation - a solution to warm a grandmother's heart!   ;)

Etta Sue, it's good the hear that Jacob is making some progress.  It's bound to be a long session to overcome such a major injury.

Janet, it is so uplifting to read of Beth's strong faith that a miracle will be sent her way.

Thanks, Janet and Jeanne ... Karmen is 10 months old now.   Joy says that, when she got into her new room (with several full length mirrors) she pulled herself up to a mirror and leaned her head into that baby, then began kissing her!  I guess she thinks that's a sweet baby, too!  :) Becky is just happy to have "a door to close and a closet to hang our clothes" ... she's grateful for the small things so many of us take for granted.  Bry is the one who wants "good stuff" for her ... he wouldn't let her bring any of the secondhand stuff she was using at Candice's ... he wanted nice furniture that would go well with his high-end furniture.  Yup, I'm really proud of my guy Bry!   :thumbsup:

I fell and hit my head today when out walking the dogs. Bebe crossed over behind me and I was trying to get her leash off my arm when I fell. I hit my head and hurt both knees and my left wrist. I have a small laceration above the corner of my left eyebrow. I don't think it needs a stitch but I've had a headache ever since, it seem to be subsiding now. and I am sitting here icing my knee. Tonight is going to be an uncomfortable night  trying to sleep without pain.

I, too, deal with "stuff" so I empathize with y'all. What a sweet photo, Jane!

Janet, yes, I understand the strong desire to be healed on Beth's part. Please let her know we're ALL praying both with and for her, believing that God loves each of us in His own individual ways. We pray for you, too, as you and Darrel deal with this extended illness. May God's richest blessings be with all of you.

Ruth, short term memory loss is so difficult to endure. A close family friend has that, and sometimes her daughters simply have to correct her. How sad it makes me.

Marilyn, get better! Larry, please let Stacey and Pat know that I'll be praying with and for y'all, as well.

If I missed anyone's posting, please forgive me. I most likely am suffering from "tired brain" tonight. Well, since I'm sooooo tired, so will close for tonight.

Much love to everyone who comes this way,
Ruth Ann

I am about ready to leave for my Class Lunch today.  Kitty is going with me.  When I bring her back home, I will go get Betty and head south to Nashville, IN, for our Womens Retreat!  It's always a great time of fun, learning and fellowship.  Ivalou is staying home and taking care of my fur girls!

I remembered just now...and why I didn't sooner, I don't know...that I could post a link so you can see photos of Jacob.  Then those who wish to pray for Jacob can 'see' who they are praying for.  Here's the link for his
Caring Bridge (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jacobbolling/photos) site.  You can click on a photo and then 'next' to see all of them.  I just remember his baby blues!  And typical of most boys his age, his hair in his eyes.  Thank you for all the prayers for Jacob.  I noticed this morning that his group 'Prayers for Jacob Bolling' on Facebook is 914 members.  How wonderful is that?

I best be moseying on!  Pray for travel mercies for me today and Saturday returning back home.

Hi everyone.  Yesterday was a fun morning and then a restful afternoon.  Stacey was allowed to go from the rehab, after a rehab session she said was pretty intense, back up to her apartment to get some clothing.  A friend from the apartments, who has Stacey's old power chair, had come to see her and accompanied her back to her apartment.  She said the ride was pretty tough on her and she called again fairly early last night to say she was going to sleep as was worn out.  We had a call from the rehad center to set up an appointment to discuss her care plan.  We can do this by telephone.  Today's big activity is to finish up and file the taxes and that will be a relief.  It got down to 38 degrees this morning but should get back into the 60s today.

Jane, what a cute picture of Karmen on the plane.  It looks like she is taking it all in.

Etta Sue, Stacey lives in the Darlington Apartments is exactly across the street from the Shepard's Center.  They share the same traffic light  It is the large building 15 story building with the four wings.  It sounds like Jacob is making progress.

Marilyn, I read your posting about falling on Facebook.  You really banged yourself up.

Etta Sue, I think we have to have a password to access the Caring Bridge site.  I have accessed it before for a former choir friend.  Have a great retreat.

O safe to the Rock that is higher than I,
My soul in its conflicts and sorrows would fly;
So sinful, so weary, Thine, Thine, would I be;
Thou blest "Rock of Ages," I'm hiding in Thee.

Refrain
Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee,
Thou blest "Rock of Ages,"
I'm hiding in Thee.

In the calm of the noontide, in sorrow's lone hour,
In times when temptation casts over me its power;
In the tempests of life, on its wide, heaving sea,
Thou blest "Rock of Ages," I'm hiding in Thee.

Refrain

How oft in the conflict, when pressed by the foe,
I have fled to my refuge and breathed out my woe;
How often, when trials like sea billows roll,
Have I hidden in Thee, O Thou Rock of my soul.

Janet, Bryan is a100% disabled veteran, and receiving disability pay from the US Army.  He is doing odd jobs -- mostly landscaping -- and has a few "clients" for whom he is personal trainer.  He also is quite active as a leader in his church youth group.  He is still "struggling" but makes the most of what he has and can do.

Hi everyone.  Another Friday has rolled around.  I am just back from coffee at the Senior Center.  Today should be a laid back day although have a few things I need to do.  A friend is coming by in a few minutes and will be here about an hour.  Sometime today I need to make a trip to Walmart to pick up some things we need.  I spoke with Stacey last evening and she seemed more cheerful.  She said she is moving a little better and was able to do the rehab they asked her to do.  She says she likes the food and has found out that by next week the floor she is on, which has been the memory impaired floor, will be changed to a regular rehab floor.  So there should be folks there she can communicate with after this week.

Jane, it sounds like Bryan is building a life around what is doable for him.

Al and Jeanne, good to see you here this morning.  I was here earlier but had to leave for coffee and now I am gone again.

No One Cared For Me Like Jesus (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/nocfmlj.mid)

I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus
Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true;
I would tell you how He changed my life completely -
He did something that no other friend could do.

chorus:
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There's no other friend so kind as He;
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me -
O how much He cared for me!

All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me;
All my heart was full of misery and woe;
Jesus placed His strong and loving arms around me,
And He led me in the way I ought to go.

Every day He comes to me with new assurance,
More and more I understand His words of love;
But I'll never know just why He came to save me,
Till some day I see His blessed face above.

Charles Weigle was an Itinerant evangelist.  One day after preaching at a gospel crusade, he came home to find a note from his wife.  She did not care for the life she led because of being an evangelist's wife and she was leaving him.

The next few years were a time of despair for Weigle.  He even wondered if anyone really cared for him.  After a time, his faith was again restored and he became active for the Lord again.

During this time he wanted to put to paper a song that would share the feelings he had experienced while during his despondent days.

From his heart came the words and the tune for the hymn,  "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus."

Judy thanks so much for putting in this wonderful hymn!  I've just played it over and over again enjoying every minute of it.   When we feel "low" in our spirits, how wonderful to feel the thrill of Jesus in our soul!

Yes, "All that Thrills MY Soul is JESUS!!!!"

All That Thrills My Soul Is Jesus (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/all-that-thrills-my-soul.mid)
(Click to hear music)

Who can cheer the heart like Jesus,
By His presence all divine?
True and tender, pure and precious,
O how blest to call Him mine!

Chorus:
All that thrills my soul is Jesus;
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand,
In my blessed Lord I see.

Love of Christ so freely given.
Grace of God beyond degree,
Mercy higher than the heaven,
Deeper then the deepest sea.

Chorus

What a wonderful redemption!
Never can a mortal know
How my sin, tho' red like crimson,
Can be whiter than the snow.

Chorus

Every need His hand supplying,
Every good in Him I see;
On His strength divine relying,
He is all in all to me.

Chorus

By the crystal flowing river
With the ransomed I will sing,
And forever and forever
Praise and glorify the King.

Chorus:
All that thrills my soul is Jesus;
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand,
In my blessed Lord I see.

I am at the Womens Retreat in Nashville, Indiana.  The theme this year is Seaside Escape.  Sand, water, waves, ocean, everything I love!

We have a break this afternoon for do whatever we want to do.  Some are shopping but I have found that the shops all have the same thing they had 10 years ago.  It's a tourist town with all kinds of little shops for this and that.  So I am in my room while the rest is out spending money!

Jacob is out of ICU.  Today they even dressed him with his street clothes!  Everyone is praying for him to 'Wake Up!'

My window here overlooks a huge parking lot.  I see the attendant just place orange cones at the entrance signifying that it is FULL!  Lot's of shoppers!

It's so good to be able to catch up in here.  Life has been so busy for me lately with travel and looking after the websites that I look after.  Also, I'm trying so hard to get a crocheted baby gift done and the baby is to be born on April 24TH!!!!!

Ruth, I know what you mean about finding this a wonderful place!  It really is a chore to try to talk to someone with short term memory loss.  My heart goes out to you.

I'm so sorry, Larry that you've had to do so much travel lately but when our children request our presence,  we sure want to be there!  My love to Pat and also Stacey when you next see her.  Will continue to pray for her healing.

Thank you for the devotional this week, Etta Sue.  I missed Easter services this year except Good Friday.  Paul and I attended a lovely Good Friday service at the little Baptist church we attend in Winchester, VA and then I did the long trek home Saturday and then found out after arriving at church here in Guelph an hour late that yes, we had the clocks change while I was away and I forgot!!!

Wonderful to see you posting again, Al!!!  Hope you are starting to feel strong and able to do some things.  I will continue to pray for you my dear friend.

Such a lovely visit with Beth, Janet!  It's so nice that she requested that you bring your Bible and have a nice read together.

Jane, what a wonderful photo of Karmen!  I can't believe she's 10 months already.  How time does fly!

Judy what a cat chase!!!  I can just almost see it happening!  And what a touching story behind "No One Ever Cared for me like Jesus!"  How true!  How true!  :)

It's lovely to see you in here, Betty!  Hope you're keeping well and hope that your father is doing well too!

Hi Jeanne!

Off to do more crocheting.  Then I will try to go out for coffee with good friends!

Hello everyone I am still here. I don't have ay of the symptoms of a concussion just some dizziness that is exactly like the Bilateral Paroxamyl Positional Vertigo that is a recurring  problem for me. The head wound is healing nicely, I clean it every night with Betadine and then put on Tea tree oil and a bandaid. So I am just taking it easy and resting for a few days. I did go to the gym yesterday and today for a token workout and socializing with Jane and the other ladies.

I have lost 5.6 lbs since March 29th on this new  weight loss program I am doing. actually I lost that in the first week, then had Mexican dinner last Friday and gained some of it back but now I am back to where I was last Friday before the dinner.

Marilyn. how awful to have a head injury!  That must have been some fall!  What weight loss program are you doing?  I didn't think you needed to lose any!

Well, I was on  a weigsht-loss program for a while.  It's called "Eat hospital  food."  Then I got home, and now I eat Marbeth's cookings, and I like it!  So it's a weight-gain  program.  But I'm sure enjoying it!

Pat I am  on the Sensa program trysensa.com (http://trysensa.com) You can eat whatever you want as long as you sprinkle the  stuff on everything  except liquids and drink 64 oz of water every day. Check it out.

OMG Pat I weighed 183 and  looked about 9 months pregnant.  My measurement  were awful.
but I'm glad you thought I looked like I didn't need to lose any. :eek: I lost 5.6 lbs in one week then I gained back some over last  weekend  but now have lost it again. Mexican food and Chinese food have too much salt and make you retain water it takes a few day to wash out all that salt.

I am feeling happier now that my studio is usable again!  I spent the whole day yesterday painting, except for the time to go to lunch and to visit Beth.  I didn't realize how much it was bugging me to have it in such a mess!  My spirit just doesn't seem to fare well in the midst of chaos!  And the whole place was basically a mess for eight long months!  And in the midst of that, my book was published and I have been working on promoting it.  I need to find more ways to do that, as I haven't sold any this week, and have the new order of 100 setting here!

I had to go get our car tags today.  That takes a bite out of the ol' wallet!  And Pat cut and styled my hair, so I'm looking better!

Now to go order a batch of mat boards!  I WILL catch up, some day.  I will catch up some day!  I WILL CATCH UP SOME DAY!!  ;)

Pat, sure is good to see your posts today!  You too, Al!

My what a busy place this has been.

I went into North Bay today, got a lot of errands done, and have come home tired.  I have a sewing project that I am working on, and the fabric is a stretch denim.  I have encountered a problem with the fabric puckering.   So when I picked up more material I asked if the ladies there had a solution.......Interfacing!!!!  Now why didn't I think of that!

The weather has finally turned.  It has been sunny and warm all day.  No need for coats or for that matter even a sweater.  I overdressed, with a T shirt Sweater and jacket!  One thing about layering, you can peel like an onion.

Got to run have groceries to put away.

Hi, friends, I've been busy taking a friend to various doctor appointments all this week, so I'm thankful it's Friday and none are scheduled for at least the first couple of days next week (except for my own dr. appt. on Tuesday a.m.).  :D

Y'all have a good rest of the day, friends.

Oh, I slept so much better last night.  I will remember that when I come back May 30 with my classmates.  I will be in the same room also!

Today is pack up day and one lesson at 9am.  Then we head back home.  One lady came with me, two are going back.  I have prayed for safe travels for all of us.

It's been a wonderful time.  Last evening we made bracelets for a home for single, homeless women with children.

It has been a fun time, worshipping the Lord with my sisters.

I'd better post now, as today is a really full one!  I am going to my painting group, then when I get home, will be going to Dodge City with the seniors for another concert--Red, White and True Blue (or something like that.  ;))  I love patriotic music!

It feels good to have that piece painted and ready to give back to its owner!  Hope she likes it, I think it turned out pretty good.  I will take my camera along so I can get a photo of it, as I forgot to do that before packaging it up and loading the car.  We are to bring things that Carma Lee, a member who passed away recently, painted or taught, but I don't seem to have anything of hers.  They will take photos of those for our club scrapbook.

I wish everyone a peaceful and stress-free day!  Kansas is in for some ferocious weather today, it is supposed to be just east of our area, but they are giving warnings for more than half of the state---long lived tornadoes, hail, heavy rain and winds.  The weather is nuts this year!  Four FEET of hail near Amarillo, where Darrel's sister lives, this week!  Wouldn't that be something to see?  But I sure wouldn't want to be caught out in it!

Blessings to you!
Janet

Hi everyone.   Yesterday was sort of a lost day for me.  I was fine in the morning until I went to Walmart.  Only had a few items so didn't get the riding cart (bad mistake).  As I was walking those long spans in Walmart I felt my energy leave and I was exhausted the rest of the day.  I went to bed at 8 pm after having a long nap.  I am feeling better this morning and have just come home from coffee at McDonald's.  Today should be fairly quiet and a nice day.  Stacey seems to doing fine in rehab and was told she will be there for two weeks.  We plan on going down tomorrow morning and eating lunch with her at the facility.  Last evening I lost another tooth so face another root canel and crown.

Pat, liked your sharing from Facebook.  Thanks for your kind thoughts regarding our family.  God provides for every need.

Etta Sue, good news on Jacob's getting out of ICU.  Sounds like you are having a good time and saving money.

Marilyn, glad you had no concussion from your fall.

Al, only after my first heart surgery did I lose a lot of weight.  Of course, within a year it was all back.  Glad you are able to have Marbeth's cooking and no the hospital food.

Janet, glad you are getting some orderliness back in your life and it is calming you.  You will get caught up when you are suppose to be.

Judy, your sewing project sounds like a challenge.  Glad the weather is turning better for you all and hope the storms headed up through the midwest don't eventually get to your area.

Ruth Ann, nice of you to help your friend and must be nice to go to a doctor's office where you aren't the patient.

Today we woke up to clouds, and cold weather.  After yesterday this is dismal.  One thing I know spring will come to the north ....... eventually!

Had a good evening with John last night, and I am looking forward to his holidays.  We have a lot on the agenda, although it is fun working together!

Time for a hymn.

Sunlight  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/sunlight.mid)
(Click to hear music)

"In his right hand he held seven starts, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword.  His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance." Revelations 1:16

Words: J. W. Van De Venter
Music: W. S. Weeden

I wandered in the shades of night,
Till Jesus came to me,
And with the sunlight of His love
Bid all my darkness flee.

Refrain

Sunlight, sunlight in my soul today,
Sunlight, sunlight all along the way;
Since the Savior found me,
Took away my sin,
I have had the sunlight of His love within.

Tho' clouds may gather in the sky,
And billows round me roll,
However dark the world may be
I've sunlight in my soul.

Refrain

While walking in the light of God,
I sweet communion find;
I press with holy vigor on,
And leave the world behind.

Refrain

I cross the wide extended fields,
I journey o'er the plain,
And in the sunlight of His love
I reap the golden grain.

Refrain

Soon I shall see Him as He is,
The light that came to me;
Behold the brightness of His face,
Thro'out eternity.

Refrain

I made it home safely, but we sure did drive through some wild weather!  A literal downpour of rain, so much that vehicles were pulling to the shoulder of the road and stopping because they couldn't see!  Then, we ran out of it, under blue skies again!  I got home in time to go to the concert, but they had decided not to go, as the LEC (law enforcement center) advised not to drive that way; there are still storms and predicted tornadoes over that way.  Frankly, I was relieved, as I didn't sleep much at all last night and am really feeling tired.  No use going if one is so sleepy you can't enjoy it!  So I am home.  :)

Etta Sue, have a great trip.

I'm looking at a great photo of a Muskrat swimming. Wow!

Well, it's time to rest up for tomorrow.

Y'all have a great rest of this day, and may you be well and able to worship on our Lord's day.

Love to all,

Hi everyone.  It is going to be another very warm and sunny day here in Atlanta.  We will not attend church this morning as are heading down to Atlanta to have lunch with Stacey at the rehab center.  She should be about half through with the rehab . We will stop at her apartment first to pick up her mail and take to her.  It looks like it will be a nice day for the trip.  That will be it for today.  I do have the first photos from the Senior Golden Games to work up on the website and will try to get that done today.

Judy, when you live on a farm or acreage there is always lots to be done.  When does the holiday for John begin?

Janet, glad you made it safely home.  I was watching the Weather Channel a few times yesterday to see where those bad storms were occurring.  I haven't heard this morning what happened yesterday.  Pat's sister lives in Independence, Mo.  and it looked like that area was on the outskirts of the storms.  Hope you got some much needed sleep last night. I don't see how you keep going with so little sleep.

Ruth Ann, hope you had a restful night as well.

Well, I got a good night's sleep last night.  Since it was raining when we left Nashville, I decided to come back on State highways but knowing TomTom, I knew I needed to tell it that I wanted to go through certain towns.  So I went to Columbus.  Then I told TomTom to go through Shelbyville...silly TomTom wanted me to go to I-65 to get there instead of right up SR9!!  Then I said Greenfield and TomTom wanted me to go to Indy and then to Greenfield.  So I turned him off since I knew the way to go!

I got home at 2:15pm.  Everything is put away but the laundry.  Will do that tomorrow!

Looks to be a sunny day today.  Must leave since I have to be at church early.  We are to sing a song that we learned at retreat!

Jacob got a smaller trach and he tracked his Mom and Dad with his eyes yesterday!!

John's holidays are the last week of April.  We have a lot on the agenda and are hoping to get a lot done.  The time between Thursday and then is taken up with Road Knight work.  He really loves that.

We have a birthday to go to later today, so I won't be back on till tonight.  I will leave the hymn till then.
