Our sorrows are multiplied when our sins are.

How To Overcome Satan

Ephesians 6:10-17 says...

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Morning Devotional...

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.
Ephesians 3:14-15

Sometimes we say, "What a small world!" But the world is no smaller than it's ever been.

What we really mean is, "What a big family."

Think of it, most of the family of God is already in heaven. The older we get the more people we know there than we do here.

This is the family of God--one big, joyful fellowship in heaven and on earth!

Are you getting to know your family members?

I can't believe that I am the first one to post.  I am armed for whatever the  enemy is going to throw at me. I have on my armor and God is by my side to empower me to come against  all the fiery darts.

I've had about 7-8 emails from Ron om two days. Most of you know that I have been estranged from my 4 older kids for a very long time. It's been 18 long years. I've missed them terribly. We all used to be so close.

I  pray you will all join me in coming against the spirit of depression that is seeking to  come upon him and overwhelm him at this time.  I am calling upon you prayer warriors to join me in this fight against the evil one.

I will not allow old slew foot to get his grasp on my son or on any member of my family. I will call upon the mighty powers of God to  give Ron the courage and the  strength to stand up against  the spirit of depression. I will pray that  the perfect  job will come along and drop into his lap. Will you all join me? Help me to bombard heaven with your prayers.

Janet My Pentecostal sister you know how I want you to pray.

Thanks, Marilyn, for helping me with my laptop.  I was so frustrated with it.  I went to bed and read for awhile.  Then I tossed and turned.  Saying prayers usually puts me to sleep so while praying I asked God to help me fix my computer.  All of a sudden the word 'restore' came in my mind.  I got up, came into the living room and did a system restore clear back to July 6th when I knew my computer was working fine.  Voila!  Fixed.  Thank you, God!

State Fair was fun.  The judges scores on photography was 70-80.  I got one 74, one 73 and a 72.  Downstairs were entries for drawings, paintings, etc.  Kitty got a Blue and a Red ribbon on two of her computer paints.  She was really happy!

Then Kitty, Judy and I ate at Chili's.  Really fun.

Kitty, Bob and grandson, Alex is leaving for St. Louis this morning.  All I want to do is go to the bank and then church council meeting is this evening.  I am anxious to see if we received more $$ in the offering since my talk 3 weeks ago.

Has it been three weeks already, Etta Sue?  My, time flies past!!

Marilyn, I am praying for your son Ron.  God knows all about it, and the Holy Spirit enters in and helps us pray God's perfect will.

Pat, praying for your son, as well.  Only the Lord can help us make it through all the changes in our lives.  And we are living in the day when "everything that can be shaken will be shaken."  I believe we will all feel the shaking before too long.  But God.......  Blessings to you, Pat.  I sure do miss you!

Well, today is a sad day for Beth, as it is the day for John to fly back to Utica.  She is going to miss him terribly.  He spoils her rotten!  And of course she loves it.  But she is also worn out, so will enjoy some quiet and rest for probably a week.  Sure wish John didn't live so far away.  He says he loves Kansas!  :)

We are driving John to Dodge City, taking Beth along.  Then back home.  Which leads me to my prayer request:  Darrel says that awful infection is back.  :'(  I have made him an appointment with our doctor here this afternoon so they can check on him.  If the infection is back, his Amarillo doctor says he will have to be on an antibiotic for a whole year.

I must swallow my pills and then I'm ready to roll.  See you later.

I missed my pills for the last 2 days. Thank you for the reminder Janet.

You are right about God shaking to the foundation, and if the foundation is sure they will be ok.  I know a lad who was the apple of his fathers eye and did all the right things.  Dad died and the son left all that was Godly.  The family is struggling, without a job and My prayer is that he return to their foundation and God's will in his life.  It is tough to watch.

We have often heard coyotes and wolves (Lobos) in the bush.  Yesterday I found out that there is a woman near us that breeds dogs to wolves and then trains the pups to hunt.  She has bred a major problem for the farmers.  Our neighbor to the east has sheep and cattle and to the North east has cattle, as do many others.  I suggested to Mr French to the East that he needs a Llama.

Well this is to be another busy day.  I have beans to pick and it looks like rain.  So I had better get at it.

Have a great day and God bless

Hi everyone.  It is suppose to be very hot here today but this morning it has been overcast and not too bad.  After coffee we went walking at the gym.  I then stopped at Kroger's and then at a new computer store that just opened this morning.  I was the second person in his store.  My friend Rod was the first.  I didn't need anything but did sign up for the drawing for an iPod he is giving away.  He repairs computer, sells computers and monitors, and does website design and maintenance.  I do hope his business will be successful.

Marilyn and Pat, I can relate to your concerns for your sons as our son is also out of work and can't even get an interview.  This week he is struggling with a large kidney stone and this is an expense he doesn't need.  Fortunately he has health insurance still but the co-pay is high.  I will be praying for your son's and others out there without work.  I feel fortunate and very thankful to be retired and not having the worry of losing my job.

Janet, so sorry to hear that the infection has returned for Darrel.  I am sure Beth will miss John but that she has a lot of good memories of these last few days to think about until his next visit.

Judy, those dogs/wolves sound like a really bad thing.  What can that lady be thinking.

Etta Sue, glad you remember the restore function on your laptop.  I have done the same thing as you and forget to try that as a first alternative to fix a problem.

Pat, thanks for the fine devotional for today.  Sure sorry to read that Jeanne is still in ICU.

I have to leave now for my Monday Men's luncheon group.  We are going to another buffet today which is just what I need after the weekend.  :)

Yes, Happy Birthday, Al. May your steps be more sure this year, your health be improved, your soul fed, and your wife's health improved. And, then, our loving Father will provide all your needs according to His great riches in glory. :)

I'm so thankful to be back in my quiet apartment. The drive back from Atlanta was a safe one, and now I can rest early today. Tomorrow I'm committed to playing piano and singing a solo for the devotions downstairs at 10 a.m.

It's such a blessing to communicate with our Christian friends and neighbors!

A llama, Judy?  How would a llama help, against coyote/wolves?  That lady might be in big trouble if those pups become killers of domestic animals, which would not be surprising.  Not a good move, for sure.

Larry, I hope the new store succeeds, too, but it's a pretty shaky time for new ventures.  Glad you feel like doing the walking again.  Boy, I am wanting to get back to my exercising, things just keep coming up.  I know I will just have to DO it, in spite of the obstacles.

Darrel went to the doctor, and yes, the infection is back, along with lots of blood.  Phooey.  But I know God is still in control.  He will call the other doctor tomorrow morning.  Thanks for continued prayers on his behalf.

Jeanne, so good to see your posts, we are continuing to pray for you.

Happy Birthday, Al!

I have done so many beans that I called my son to come and get some of the purple ones!  It started to rain just before I was finished.  I didn't get too wet.

Got to finish freezing the beans.

God Bless

I have been doing this and that went to my nephews for  a pork BBQ 2 wks ago followed with fireworks around 10 p.m. he put on a good show.

Then this past weekend we went north for a family reunion. Sad to say it could be our next to last trip as we are getting older but so are the they and most of the younger folk we were not really able to figure out who belongs to whom, then the 40-50 folk that are in the south have expressed that they have no desire to go and make any kind of connection so sad really, if we had reminded our son perhaps he may have gone, Judy on our way home we drove through a rain storm it was good that it did not last long.

Picked the green beans in our little patch enough for a couple of dinners.

Am I the first today?

Now today I am tired!  I ate my breakfast and read my devotions.  Then I left at 10am to go swimming.  That's a 20mile distance.  I did my 34 laps and 2 laps of walking.  Then I had lunch at Hardee's.  Then home.  1pm. It rained this morning but prediction of rain for two more days.  So I mowed when I got home.  So hot and humid out!  2:30pm.  I showered and now catching up on the computer.

When I shut off the mower to clean off the deck, it wouldn't start again.  It made a popping noise and then nothing.  So I had to push it into the garage...that mower is heavy!  I will be sore tomorrow.  I don't want to forget to take the charger off of it!!

Tomorrow a lady from church is coming for me to scan lots of old photos of church activities for our 150th Church Celebration the 22nd.  First she said video.  I haven't done a video/movie for so long, it would take me longer than the 22nd to get it done.  But I can put them on my flash drive, then install them in the projector program at church and run them as a slide show!  Easy...all but the scanning.  Need to see how many we can show first.

So I know it will take more than an hour so I am putting on a pot of smoked sausage, onions, potatoes, carrots and green beans for lunch.  And I am hoping she likes coconut since there was a recipe on 'Mexican Made Easy' for coconut bark that is just 5½ C of coconut, a can of Sweetened Condensed Milk, mix together and put in a sprayed 8"x8" pan.  Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.  Let cool and cut into squares.  Easy!!  I might leave some coconut out and add chocolate chips.  Mounds Bars...MMMmmmm!  And then some Iced Tea and we are done!

Need to tidy up the house a bit also!

Ruth interesting thing is there can be a downpour on the highway but we remain dry.  The rain seems to stop at the ridges around us.  Mind you today we did get a lot of rain, which is desperately needed.

Yesterday I picked 6 buckets of beans!  Today was to be peas but that will wait till tomorrow.  I will pick beans again tomorrow.  Oh BTW the buckets I use are the ones from an Ice Cream shoppe. )The buckets they use to serve hard ice cream.)

We have a Kwik Way in our town that serves the best ice cream that I have ever tasted and the price is right.  We get a cupful for $2.00.  Can't get it anywhere else for that price either!

Hi everyone from the really hot South.  Of course it is August so we must expect the hot weather.  We have been getting a lot of popup rain showers and storms.

Today has been a laid-back day as went to coffee, then walked a mile at the gym (without difficulty) and attended a meeting.  This afternoon after resting awhile I went to the bank and Kroger's for a couple of items.  Now in the cool for the rest of the day and settled into my easy chair as my office is pretty warm this afternoon.

Al, a belated happy birthday.  I always seem to be a day or so behind in my greetings but no less heart felt.

Just to be there and to look on His face,
Will through the ages be glory for me.

Refrain

Friends will be there I have loved long ago;
Joy like a river around me will flow;
Yet just a smile from my Savior, I know,
Will through the ages be glory for me.

Refrain

That's interesting about llamas, I never heard that before.  They have no defenses except their hooves, do they?  Must be a sight to see a fight between a llama and a coyote or wolf.  Hmmmm.  Judy, that is a LOT of beans!  Wish I had enough for a "mess."  Darrel really loves fresh green beans, and probably the other colors as well.

Larry, glad you are feeling well.  Try to stay out of that heat!  It was well over 100 here yesterday, and high 90s today.

I worked this morning, went back to the doctor, then to lunch, then to nurse for nail care, home to rest a while and back to Senior Center for supper.  The Mennonite young people served us hamburgers with all the fixings, salads, melons and then homemade ice cream!!  Yum!

And now it's about time to put the ol' bod to bed.  :sleepy:

Hello everyone!   <3 <3 <3 <3

I'm still kicking!!!!

Life tried to get me down, but I'm slowing bouncing back!

I've been taking a lot of pictures lately, that seems to make me happy.  I'm not very good, but I like what I see.

Y'all have a good evening.

Janet Llamas Spit!  That will send any animal running I am told.

Judy, I have had a few spit at me, and it isn't nice, for sure.  After reading your post last night, I typed in Llamas as guard animals and found some really fascinating stuff!  They apparantly are very good at using those sharp hooves, and even small animals such as cats and raccoons turn tail and run when the guard llama gets after them.  Fun to learn new things.

Ugh, I feel so sleepy.  I took an Ambien and slept really good, but just not enough.  Hope I can keep my wits about me at work, whih is where I am headed now.

What should be our attitude in prayer?

Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy. So he said to Samuel, "Go and lie down again, and if someone calls again, say, 'Yes, Lord, your servant is listening.'" So Samuel went back to bed. And the Lord came and called as before, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel replied, "Yes, your servant is listening."

1 Samuel 3:8-10 NLT

Speak, Lord, in the stillness, while I wait on Thee; hushed my heart to listen in expectancy.
Speak, O blessed Master, in this quiet hour, let me see Thy face, Lord, feel Thy touch of power.
Emily May Grimes

God revealed
God revealed himself mightily to the prophet Elijah, sending fire to burn the sacrifice on Mount Carmel. But later, as Elijah moped on the mountain, the Lord taught him an important lesson. There was a wind, an earthquake, and a fire—but the Lord was not in any of these. Then came a still, small voice. That was how God chose to speak to His prophet.

The same is true today. We long for fire from heaven to silence the skeptics once and for all, but God doesn't usually work that way. Long ago He revealed Himself as a helpless baby sleeping in a dirty feed trough, and today He speaks quietly to ordinary people like you and me—if only we are still enough to listen. That is the sentiment expressed by Emily May Grimes in the words of the hymn, "Speak, Lord, in the Stillness."

Judy:   While away I had only one ice cream cone/maple walnut $2.50 a scoop..  Mel was with me so that helped me keep in check good thing as I do not need any more added to my already well fed bones.

Earlier we went to Bass Pros the men's sporting store and purchased two life jackets it was thought only one but two came home.

Any word about Jeanne and what is wrong because like Marilyn I had no idea she was not well.

Now I must head out to the local expensive grocery store.  I will not be gone any longer than needed as it is hot and hummid.

Diane and I only got 52 photos scanned.  But I am resizing, sharpening and adding a border on the bottom or the side and adding text that tells when, what, where, and/or who.  The program only takes 101 photos so she is coming back next Monday.  Hopefully we will be done!

Tony just called and he is bringing equipment to check out the lawnmower.  And bringing his FIL.  He knows engines and mowers pretty good.  Hope it isn't expensive...or a new mower!  It is his mower but I will pay for the repair or a new mower that would be mine!

Got to go open up the garage doors so it won't be 150 degrees out there!!

Hi everyone.  We have had a very busy day and in a few minutes I must leave for choir.

Pat saw the eye doctor for her 4 week follow-up for the cataract surgery.  All is well.  However, she has such dry eyes that he prescribed Restatis to try to treat the dry eyes.  He also gave her a prescription for new glasses.  She has been using drugstore glasses that she carries around her neck and really dislikes using them.  She prefers just to wear glasses.

We then met our daughter at a new Italian eating place where she could get to in wheelchair.  The food was very good.  We split a serving of lasagna and a flat calzone and it was plenty for each of us.  No dinner tonight.  We then went to her apartment where I looked at her computer.  She has gotten a very nasty trojan on her computer.  I had to bring it home and think I will have to use the restore disks and put it back in factory condition to get rid of it.  It is blocking the anti-virus program and want to take you to a sight where you have to pay $50 for a program to remove it.  This should be totally illegal but guess it is hard to control.  She doesn't know how she got the virus but it has sure made a mess of her computer.  Fortunately she uses G-mail and she doesn't have anything on her hard disk that she wants to keep.

Pat and I came home and immediately laid down as we were both exhausted.  Still feel worn out so know it will be to bed when I get home from choir.

Time to get ready for choir.

Larry that is the same virus that Keith got on his computer and he had to take it in to the shop to get it cleaned out, however there is a site online that you can go to  and get the instructions for removing it. Just Google the  name of the Trojan. You can get that trojan by clicking on a link to a photos or anything.

1. Do you have a wish list? What's on it?
Well, if it be God's will, I'd like to be able to get another TV - mine is more and more difficult to get up and running. The tube's most likely failing. Also, if He wills, it would be nice to have a laptop with WiFi.

2. What room are you in right now? I am in my office/walk-in closet. In really small spaces a person must be creative with use of space.

3. Are you afraid of spiders?  No - I think years of teaching in our church's day care center helped me get over my fear of insects, n frogs, n other critters. :)

4. How many times did you move before you were 20? 9

5. Did you grow up with pets? A budgie (parakeet) named Kippy came into our home about the time I was 11 or 12. What fun he was!

6. What color is your car?  A soft grayish purplish color. She's named "Josie" in honor of a dear friend, whose favorite color is purple.

7. What did you have for dinner last night?  A little frozen chicken/rice/broccoli/cheese dinner.

8. What's for breakfast today?  An egg sandwich on whole wheat bread.

9. Catsup/ketchup or mustard? On occasion, ketchup, mostly mustard, honey mustard, barbecue, or mayonnaise type sauces.

Yeah!!  I have my mower fixed.  Tony and FIL came.  They determined that it was the battery after all.  I asked them to take the battery out of the old Honda mower that was Mom's and get a new one for it also.  Now I have two mowers that run!!  All for only $51.  Yeah!

Then Tony remembered that I needed a bulb replaced in the basement.  Why does my minute jobs turn into an hour?  The porcelain fixture shorted out in the off position.  I didn't even realize that there was a chain to turn it off and on...the chain was on the floor.  Also Tony checked my water softener and I was OUT of salt!  So I went to Lowe's this morning.  I have a new fixture and 4 bags of salt...two of which I put in the softener.  Resting before I put the other two in!  Those 40# bags are heavy to carry to the back door and down the steps and then lift to pour the salt in the container!

Nothing else on the agenda today!

Tomorrow is a check up with the urologist.  I asked Ivalou to go with me, then have Pizza and then get groceries.  She didn't sound interested.  Kaye Don is to take her today or tomorrow to shop for a new kitchen stove.  Hers is a '50 or '60 model and it seems the oven switch is burnt out and wiring probably burnt up.  Doubt if any replacement parts could be found.  She is due for a new stove...only two burners worked also.  Hope she find exactly what she wants without a lot of extras that she will never use.

I saw my WeatherFX read 96° yesterday.  So hot.  Felt like an oven when you went outside and felt like you were going in a refrigerator when you came back inside!  My glasses kept fogging up!!  Then we had rain, lightening and thunder and it dropped 20°!!  Nicer today and not suppose to get as hot!  But I am kind of wishing that I could mow...to try out the Honda again.  First I need to wash it...3 years of garage dust on it!

Oh, so sad about Jeanne.

Reminds me of when my hubby, about 10 years ago, had so much pain--waited in emergency room for over 5 hrs. and they sent him home with antibotic(he had a sligtht fever) pain pills, and a stomach acid reducer pill...

Two hours later, after pain started to go away with the pain pill, my DIL called her doctor who immediately sent him back to hospital..By then, the appendix ruptured and he had to stay there for
18 days with back to back IV's loaded with antibotics.  Another young girl was there and the same thing happened to her, after sending her home, her's ruptured ,too...

So remember you know your own body better than anybody, so speak up and fight for better health care and awareness..

tHE GOOD thing when my hubby was on the IV's he stopped smoking and never had withdrawals or smoked again.

His not smoking helped tremondously when he came down with cancer..He is now a cancer survivor , passing thed 5 year mark.

love and prayers to Jeanne and to the others that are not feeling well mentioned here.

Well, it's quiet in here!

It's so nice to read through your trivia answers.

Yesterday was my first day back from Winchester, VA and I spent the whole day cutting my back lawn!  I measured the height of the grass and it was 15 inches high!  :o  I was cutting and cutting and cutting.  And the old saying was so true that goes, "Horses sweat!  Men perspire but LADIES GLOW!"  ::)  I was sure "glowing" most of the day in the heat but I needed to get it done!

Yes, please keep praying for our Jeanne.  She's still in intensive care as far as I've heard.

Add your greetings to her to give her a lot to read when she gets back (over in the Prayer and Praise area).

I was just looking through my emails that have come in today and thought this from "Joni and Friends" was good reading today.

Joni and Friends Daily Devotional

Bolts and Bars

Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.

-- Philippians 1:12-14

I'm not like Paul; I'm not in prison -- far from it! But I can identify with the bolts and bars of a prison cell. This wheelchair is made of a lot of metal, and in a way it's confining. I suppose that's why so many prisoners write me. My testimony has encouraged them, and they look at my bolts and bars and understand.

Even though I know nothing of the kind of imprisonment the apostle Paul went through, I do know I like his attitude. In the scripture for today, he basically says, "Okay, so I'm in chains? My bolts and bars help me spread the good news. Every time they chain me to another guard, he gets an earful of the gospel. And my imprisonment helps others to become bold."

I've read letters from prisoners who say the same thing. "Okay, so I'm behind bars? It's a chance for me to draw closer to Christ." I can say the same thing. "Okay, so I'm in a wheelchair? These bolts and bars give me a chance to spread the good news to anyone who experiences confinement and limitations."

What are your chains? Maybe you feel manacled to the kitchen sink. Maybe you feel chained to your desk with just enough slack to reach the restroom and coffeemaker. Maybe you feel imprisoned in a difficult marriage. Goodness, we all can name the bolts and bars that confine us. Look at today's verse again. Has what happened to you served to advance Christ's gospel? It should. It's the locale from which God wants to work.

I finally got a good night's rest and feel like a new woman today!  :)  I went to my chiropractor, and he is working on my face, helping the TMJ so much!  And I never even thought about a chiropractor being able to help that condition.  Dr. Saxon is one of the most brilliant, and downright NICEST people I have ever met.  God bless him.

I am leaving very early in the morning to go to a painting seminar in Newton for a couple of days.

Good to read all your posts and catch up on your activities!  We have some apricots from Diane's tree that we need to do something with.  We are still eating the little peaches....I had six of them for breakfast!  8)

I drove down last evening to watch Abby's practice for her dance recital, which I will e and Mark to take lots of photos, because I have a  nice ballet album and no pictures to go in it!

I am off to do more stuff.  Always something needing to be done.

It is amazing to see something like that and why not right here in the USA?  I figured out that Joni is the former skier paralyzed and now an artist - I read her story many years ago.  Thanks for the uplifting video.

We drove our neighbors to breakfast in the hills and it is an old place next to a little, divided river.  There are many birds and a few ducks with their ducklings but no one fly fishing this morning.  Still, an interesting place with photos of Roy Rogers to Nixon.  We spent 4 hours visiting with them there & later at their home.  Time to stop dilly dallying here -

I was writing a letter on the laptop and tried to put a clip art in - well, when the symbols were of "Religion" there were scads of Muslim mosques and some outlines of church or cathedral but no cross.  What has happened that this has taken over our lives without us realizing - it has been an insidious plan to eliminate, Christianity in our lives and if we speak out, we are branded as being racist, far right evangelicals (and they want to brand that as being a bad thing).

Hi, friends, I'm peeking in the door again. Have been interested in watching election results tonight - we have had some very hotly contested races, so have been kinda "glued" to the TV tonight.

Well, I managed to bump into something last night, so now have a gorgeous, slightly crooked broken toe (the one beside the big toe on left foot). It made me think of that warning - "beware of things that go bump in the night!!!"  ;D

No, Pat, this time I don't think I'll paint my toenails. <chuckle>

Isn't it wonderful that when our bodies begin to show the ravages of age, we can still have that constantly-renewed faith in our Master where that faith never wavers nor ages! My faith still holds tonight.

Love to all y'all.

Pat:  I sure enjoyed reading Joni's devotional.

Ruth Ann:  You broke a toe by walking into something and I walked into the corner of our coffee table thus a wonderful bruise and a layer of skin lifted about the size of a quarter.  I moved a chair in the way as I was using the full length of my dinning room table to repair a tarp that goes on hubby's boat.

Jeanne sure has a long way to go in getting better we must remember her in our prayers.

Today we had lunch at a restaurant that many locals go to, details I will not mention but is it ever maddening when someone claims to know all the facts  after checking when I got  home they were so very wrong, I guess that is how stories get twisted. One of them is a know all type.

As mentioned above I am repairing the tarp for Mel's boat, after checking a couple of seams they have to out as the canvas is buckling too much, I am the kind of person that it must come out and be done right.  Yes I will have the job done tomorrow and will be a little more careful.

Well, time to go to bed now but I'll be setting my alarm for a couple of hours from now.  Lauren, my cat, is not well and I don't want her to get dehydrated.  She doesn't want to drink or eat and the vet gave me a syringe to put water in so I'm trying to do that every 15 minutes to 1/2 hour to see if I can keep her strength up.

Not nice to see our "buddies" ill.

Glad you've enjoyed the YouTube and the Joni devotional.  Yes, Carol, she dived into the water in Chesapeake Bay and hit a rock and broke her neck.  The Lord is sure using her now.

I, too, enjoyed the devotional by Joni and the dancing in Budapest.  And I agree that everything is sneaking up on us from removing everything Christian to the stores and products becoming bi-lingual!  How does that happen so easy?

I have a new light fixture ready for Tony to install and salt in the water softener.  Now maybe my hair will be curlier.  I thought it was the haircut!

And I gave both the mowers a bath yesterday!  They sure look spiffy!

Now I am ready to head to the urologist office.  I hope I can get across to him how happy I am with a new life without thinking of those small rooms everywhere!

Then I plan to eat somewhere and then get some groceries in.  My list is long this time!

Then do some more laundry.  I am either awful clean or awful dirty.  I can't figure out which!!

Praying for Jeanne and a like new recovery!

Hi everyone.  I have a very busy day planned and not much time to write.  A friend is spotting by in about 10 minutes to spend an hour or so with me and then I have somewhere to so and later will have a late lunch with a friend.

This morning we had to move our men's Friday morning coffee group to McDonad's as they are cleaning the carpets at the senior center.  We had 10 men and think none of us were anxious to leave as we were having such a nice time.  Did a lot of laughing, which is good for all of us.

Ruth Ann, sorry to read about the toe and Ruth sorry to read about the bruise.

Janet, hope you really enjoy your painting event.  I know that gives you a lot of pleasure.  My sister-in-law has TMJ and know it has given her a lot of problems over the years.

Pat, sorry to read about your cat being ill.  Please don't overdo that outside work.

Don't have time to address everyone but have read all the message.

I will try to write - I keep getting a message that someone is trying to impersonate me on this computer.  Keep getting bumped off our connection & that is rare otherwise but Don's computer is fine.

My neighbor and I will invite another neighbor to our Wed. bible study - but I will miss the first week in Sept.

Ruth Ann:  Do you need purple nail polish to match your toe?  Ouch.

Larry:  Laughter is healing.

Etta Sue:  I will never be caught up on laundry either.  It is a mystery - you should have seen what I washed when 4 children were home.

That's terrible, Carol.

Maybe Larry will be able to help you with the "impersonation".

That was one of the clues I had that sent me to the computer specialist. Hope Larry can help!

All's well with the "crooked" toe. Doctor expects I'll be in the healing sandal for 4-6 weeks. As for the color of the nail polish, I think I'd have to come up with a marbling effect, since there's a bunch of colors I'd have to match.  ;)

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann, I think a nice paisley print would be pretty on your toe.  Don't you?  :)

Pat, that was the strangest thing.  Maybe the software thought I was going to say something bad or was a bot or something else evil, and just sent it on so you could inspect it. LOL    Strange stuff goes on on these puters.

It is so thrilling to me to see young people so on fire for God.  They aren't ashamed to dance, cry, laugh, whatever happens.  It's just that overwhelming touch of God that causes people to react in different ways.  I wish it was in America too.  I pray it is.  I pray God will have mercy on us and give us a great move of the Holy Spirit once again.  But I'm also so thrilled, to tears, when I see it happening anywhere.  You can't help but smile and cry and smile and cry and declare "Yes, Lord!"  Praise The Lord.

I just googled revival in history and found some great links and pages to read.  Here's a paragraph that to me, IS what Revival...true revival will be.

Heaven-sent revival is not religious entertainment where crowds gather to hear outstanding preachers and musical programs; neither is it the result of sensational advertising—in a God-sent revival you don't spend money on advertising; people come because Revival is there! Revival is an "awareness of God" that grips the whole community, and the roadside, the tavern, as well as the church, becomes the place where men find Christ. Here is the vast difference between our modern evangelistic campaigns and true revival. In the former, hundreds may be brought to a knowledge of Christ, and churches experience seasons of blessings but as far as the community is concerned little impact is made; the taverns, dance halls, and movies are still crowded, and godlessness marches on. In revival, the Spirit of God like a cleansing flame sweeps through the community. Divine conviction grips people everywhere; the strongholds of the devil tremble and many close their doors, while multitudes turn to Christ!

I'm wanting to read about revival again! :)

A quick hello to let y'all know that I have checked in today.  I got the canvas repair job done and every thing back in its place a good feeling now Mel can put it on his boat.

I have not checked the sore on my leg but it is feeling fine, I will change the bandage tomorrow.

A most beautiful day hence there was no humidity and a lovely breeze.

Tomorrow we will be headed to Shelbourne and then continue to a friends for a visit and dinner.

Hi everyone.  It is an overcast morning but that is suppose to burn off and we are not expected to get any rain.  Just back from coffee at McDonald's where we had another good time.  I have a meeting to attend this morning and then will stay in the rest of the day.  I need to start the work of getting our daughter's computer back in operating shape and get the virus removed that attached it. I will try to get it removed before doing a complete restore to factory condition.

Carol, I have not heard of an impersonation on a computer.  Is this the screen that appears when you go to restart or close down the computer that says others are using the computer (or something like this)?  If that is the case it is not serious and just indicates more than one user is set up to use the computer.  If not, I honestly don't have a clue but you can do a Google search and probably find out about it.  Sorry I am not of any help with this problem.

Ruth, the canvas repair job sounds like it was a lot of work and probably tough sewing.  My wife once made a set of set covers for her cousin out of canvas.  This was for the cousin's bed and breakfast at her beach house in Rohobeth, Delaware.  I know that was a big job.

Nita, it would be great to see revival in this country.  I thought maybe we were seeing that after 9/11 but the full churches didn't last long.

Nothing to do today.  I got everything done that needs to be done yesterday and the day before.

Computers...seems there are a lot more problems lately.  One thing good thing is there is a lot more stuff to download and one bad thing is there is a lot more stuff to download!!

I did get a great report from the urologist yesterday.  And before I went in the office I saw one of my classmates and her husband go in.  I was surprised to see them in Noblesville since they live near Anderson.  She had to have an emergency kidney stone surgery while on vacation at their daughter's home in New Jersey this past month.  Still having problems so Dr. Knapp removed the stent they put in during surgery.  We met back at the receptionist desk and then had lunch together at Pizza Hut.  I got groceries after that and then 3 loads of laundry.

It sure cooled off last night.  Me?  I was cold in bed and couldn't get to sleep.  So I put an afghan over the bed covers and finally went to sleep.

I just got my feelings hurt by Ivalou.  She is getting a new kitchen stove so I went over.  I asked her if she wanted help in cleaning where the new stove will go.  She said, 'No.  If you don't like the way I clean, you can do it yourself.'  That hurt.  So I told her, 'Okay.  I will go home and let you do it yourself.'  I was offering to help and she blew me off.  Something is going on with her and I can't figure it out.  Maybe we need to talk.

Etta Sue, maybe she had already cleaned it?   Or maybe it's just that for so long she couldn't do anything, and now she wants to prove she can, and she doesn't want to feel that you did a better job than she could do?   You're right...something is going on.

Nita - you found a truly good one regarding true revival!  True revival is simply defined as God reviving His work, making multitudes of people conscious of God, His holiness, their danger, and the wonderful suitableness of Christ for the needs of which all have become aware.  I love the saying (I can't remember who said it) - "Revive Thy work O God, and begin the work with me.

Thanks for that Nita.

I agree with that.   I've been enjoying Paul Washer's sermons lately.

Larry:  No problem the rest of today whenever I check in here.  I should have written down the exact wording but it looked like someone was doing some searching on this laptop - Don & I are the only ones using this & he did some more cleaning.  Lets hope it works.

Soup and toasted whole wheat bread from the French bakery.  A nice couple from France have the best bakery & everyone just loves to go in there and chat with them.  They came here for the children's education and are such hard workers, always cheerful.  And, they are here legally.

Nita:  Nice of you to search for the meaning of Revival.

Etta Sue:  Hugs to you - a nice cool night in August is something to be thankful for as well.

We just had what may be called a microburst and a lawn chair is broken.  The storm is actually southeast of us but this was a dilly of a sudden wind.

Guess what, Nita?  I got your post in my email, too! And, since you addressed my post abut ambien,  I will answer you.  I have  taken it before, an noticed that after a few days, it starts to 'mess with my mind.'  So I will only take a half a tabet, an not very often.  I would rather drag around from lack of sleep than have that problem!  Scary!

Ruth Ann---OW! Poor little toe!  :o :(  Hope it feels better now.

Ruth, hope your leg is better now, too.  Bet you are glad the tarp repair job is done.  That sounds like a real challenge, but you are not one to back off from a challenge, are you?

Larry, here is another computer question for you.  This one is skipping a lot of the letters and spaces I type, driving me nuts!!  What could be causing that?  Tis is the way tings look if I don't ake crrectons.  UGH

I Can't stand this!!!  Later!

I forgot to mention your toe, Ruth Ann.  I think that there's nothing as painful as stubbing your toe.

Hi Janet!

Hi everyone.  Another beautiful day that God has given us here in Georgia.  It will be hot but it is summer.  I have been watching the dreadful problem the people in Russia are having.  I don't know how they are able to get their breath.  Hope those fires are controlled soon.

I am ready for church but it is still a couple of hours before we will leave the house.  I was able to process last week and it was nice not to have to enter from a side door.  I guess the blockage in my heart was the culprit.  It also seems that my voice is a bit stronger, which really helps in singing as it takes a lot of energy.

Nothing exciting from yesterday and our only planned activity for today is church and probably out to eat lunch.

Janet, is this your laptop where the keys aren't working correctly?  Have you spilled anything on it.  My friend took the keyboard off his laptop and cleaned but wouldn't advise it as there are a lot of little contacts and you need to know what you are doing.  If it is your desktop, then just get a new keyboard as they are very inexpensive.  While it would be a bit of a hassle to use with a laptop, you can plug in a USB keyboard and use it.  If you have rebooted and the problem remains it may well be a hardware issue.

Etta Sue, I am sure your sister's comment was hurtful but I think I would try to not dwell on it.  This might be a lingering manifestation from the stroke, which can cause changes in personality.  I take it this is not her normal reaction so, as you surmised, something may be going on or something else may be bothering her.  If it continues to bother you then discuss it with her in a non-confrontational way seeking clarification of the reaction.

Ivalou called me and told me she said that she had already cleaned behind the stove.  She didn't tell me.  Then she called back later and said that she told me yesterday that she cleaned.  I told her that I didn't talk to her yesterday.  She said, oh, that's right!  No wonder you were upset.  So all is well now.  Ivalou and I had never had words in our whole lives.  We know when to back off.  Lately she has been saying some stabbing things but I felt it was the stroke talking and didn't think that much about it.  But yesterday really hurt me but now I truly understand.  Thank you, God.  I love my sister dearly and I don't want anything to come between us.  I have sensed that she thinks about things and they become true, also. Mom used to do that.

Tony and Charlene rode the cycle up last evening and he fixed my light in the basement.  When I entered photos in the State Fair, I received 6 State Fair tickets so I gave them 4 of them.  That will help them.  It was great to visit with both of them again.

I am all ready for church.  Then Sunday School and probably out to eat somewhere.  Then I don't like to do it on Sunday but I need to mow the grass.  I can't mow Monday since Diane is coming to work on pictures again and Tuesday will be a week since mowing.  I might have to bale by then!  And I need to tidy up the house for company tomorrow.

We have a cloudy and rain filled day.  Yesterday we saw the last half of the Melbourne parade then spent an hour visiting a friend, then continued on to spend the rest of the day and evening with our daughter at her trailer in the next nearby town.

Janet: The problem could be your keyboard as they do use batteries we had that happen, our computers do have several places for batteries including the tower.

Janet: You are so very right about me taking on a challenge and yes it also saved money.

Larry:  The canvas was middle weight and also my sewing machine within reason will also accept some of the bulky jobs.

Etta Sue:  I know the feeling all to well. Do your very best to be calm brace yourself for more but cherish the good when it happens. The cherishing happened to me just yesterday during a phone call.

Dinner this evening is fresh ham with the usual trimmings.  Who will be showing up?

Ruth

Larry and Ruth--it is my laptop, the only computer I have since the PC blew up.  I have rebooted more than once but problem persists.  It is more than annoying to have to go back and insert letters into nearly every word!  :ticked:  (No, I haven't spilled anything on it, I am very careful.

I had a wonderful tme at my painting event!  I wasn't imressed with the project we did, but it was such fun to go with th gals, laugh, share, shop at used stuff stores and garage sales and eat at a couple of neat places.

Grr!  I cannot stand this!  So am stopping now.
