Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Janet the passport is for Australia in June. By June we ought to know each other pretty well don't you think?

Yeah that was quite a shopping trip. yep all in one place.   I left out all the commas didn't I.  Actually it was all within  a two block area. I even went to the cell phone store and the jeweler to check out watches. I need a new  one. Guess I'll go check K-mart. tomorrow. Then go back to the jeweler to have the band adjusted.

Just signing in from the Sedona. Arizona area.  No need to worry - I will never go mystic over anything as some do around here.

We have company coming tomorrow and then the next day but I said that there is only room enough for two at a time.  Three couples this week will come and stay over - what a gabby fest this will be!

Marilyn:  Australia?  Woo hoo as Karma would say!

The same old same old around here at least I will not get into the story except to say I called a friend and all she did was ______ nothing was or could be right.

Earlier in the evening though I had gone to the grocery store and met a lady and we shared some really good info about cooking ideas when on a diet.  It really helps to share.

Thursday a house on the main street in town here was completly destroyed  and yes you can smell the smoke in the air. No one was home at the time and the cause is still unknown.

Some news I really did have.          Ruth

That's awful, Ruth.  So sorry to hear of a house burning down.

I heard from my friend, Gail, today that they may sell their home and move.  Not good news for me as this is where my friend from Virginia stays when he comes up to Guelph.  Guess we'll have to find another place for him!

I don't have a passport, Marilyn.  Must apply for one.  What's this about Australia?

Hi Everyone Else!

Thanks for those of you who are posting welcomes to our new folks in the Introduce Yourself area.  Please continue.

Pat about Australia my friend is an engineer and has projects all over the world. right now he is on his way to England then to West Africa. He said after this the next one isn't until June and in Australia, he said from now on we will be traveling together. So he is going to get me all setup to go.

Well, I just got my bottle gas tank filled....$$$.  I wish I got raises like all the companies and businesses.  I may have to find me an engineer like Marilyn has found.... ::)

Not much going on here in Indiana.  Quiet day so far.  Bright and sunny but cool...only 37°F.  But my solar heat is running.  I can't imagine how much my bottle gas bill would be if I didn't have my solar heat and my electric fireplace!

Hello everyone!  We are having a Birthday party for Kristi today.  I've "invited" Cinderella to come and I just found out that Cinderella may bring Princess Aurora.  :)  (My niece and her friend are dressing up).  Kristi kinda knows, but not really.

Soooo, I've got to go fix a birthday cake (it is supposed to look like a crown when it is down -- we'll see) and get ready to go to the party (at my sister's house).

I hope you all have a wildly wonderful weekend.

Janet

Pictures, Karma!  We want to see pictures!  I'm kind of sad that Abby seems to have grown out of the loving Princesses stage.  They are so cute all dressed up.  That should be a fun party.

Marilyn, Australia has been on my "want to go" list for a long time now.  Eventually we will get there, unless Jesus calls us first---which may be SOON!

Etta Sue, there may be more of those guys out there---keep your eyes open!  When you say "bottle gas" is that the same as propane?  We use propane, too, and it is pretty spendy.  That's why we have separate heaters in various parts of the house, so we can turn the heat up or down depending on where we are.

Pat, yes, you need a passport!  You surely had one years ago when you went to England and Ireland, didn't you?  Or maybe one wasn't needed then from Canada.

Well, I voted in the Kansas Caucus this morning.  It was a different experience.  People were allowed to speak for the candidate of their choice, and there were some interesting opinions.  I was sort of surprised when John McCain's name was read---the silence got really loud!  :o  Then someone laughed, and the whole room erupted into applause!  :o  Huckabee carried the Wichita area handily, and I feel he will carry all of Kansas.  We are pretty conservative here.  Yet we have a Democratic governor........go figure!

Pat, I am pondering today's verse.  Will some of you comment on it?  Not sure I understand it.  Guess I need to go read it in context.

Carol, thanks for checking in.  We miss you when you don't, so it's good to hear from you.

I'm invited to some kind of a jewelry party this afternoon, then the Valentine Banquet is tonight.  And in the morning, Darrel and I and a few others are cooking breakfast for the whole church.

See you later!

Hi everyone.  Just finishing up my lunch.  We had an extended coffee time at the cafe this morning as no one seemed to be in a hurry.  I was home for a short time and then gone the rest of the morning to a meeting I attend on Saturday mornings.  The rest of the day is clear as far as I know.

Yesterday afternoon I went shopping on the Internet.  Pat finally decided on the vacuum cleaner she wanted after seeing the ranking in Consumer Report.  We didn't want to spend several hundred dollars and the Hoover we ordered was number 6 on the list in their ratings among some much more expensive ones.  Then we decided rather than try to get our microwave repaired that we would get a small one that is counter-top.  Just to get the repair people here would cost as much as the new Sharp microwave and then there are always parts to buy and probably a computer board, which is never inexpensive.  So I ordered one.  I did both purchases through Amazon and the items should be here next week.  We are getting the exact same microwave we gave our daughter for her birthday and which she really lives.  We just use ours to reheat things and to pop popcorn and really don't do any significant cooking in it so didn't need a big one.

Our daughter is here for the weekend.  She took the bus out to the town just south of us so it wasn't the two hour trip that is usually involved to go get her.  However, I will have to take her home tomorrow afternoon so she can get ready to start her job at the IRS on Monday.  She has three days of refresher training (as worked there last year) and then starts full-time work.  We are praying that her health holds together enough to allow her to work without interruption this year.

I feel a nap coming on so am not going to make individual comments today other than a couple.

The first is to say I hope Kristi really enjoys her special party.  It sounds neat for a little girl.  Secondly Janet, the thought occurred to me that the situation with Beth worked out and you didn't have to try to "fix it".  We have found over the last few months if we get out of the way God provides and very unexpected and wonderful things happen.  I am glad you don't have to be concerned about this and it sounds like Beth handled it very well.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Yes, Larry, you are so right!  And I told Beth that I'm so proud of her for what she did.  I have been trying to get out of the way and allow God to work with Beth, without input from Mom.  Not always easy, when she is struggling so hard.  :-\

Pat

Well, Marilyn, that's very interesting.  I do hope you are being very careful.  (Like old mother speaking here).  You have to meet several times before the future can be considered!  :)

Janet, we'll leave the explaining of that verse today to Al!  Or anyone who wishes to take it on.  I believe we'd have to go back to Habakkuk for sure and read the whole chapter.    And yes, we had to have our passports for travel to the UK but mine has been out of date for years now.

Snow, snow!

I'm going to share my post from my blog in here for you all.

I'll be back to do that.

Mother Hen, we are working on that, moving slow waiting on God, well maybe not that slow. It will be 6 months by the time June rolls around.  0:-)

Today's Verse

Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
Habakkuk 2:9

Well Pat got me going by saying she'd leave it to Al!

The Neo-Babylonians were taking over the near-eastern nations, and they were acting arrogantly.  Hab. 2:9 is a prediction of the king of judgement these idolaters would experience because of their pride.

The Neo-Babylonians coveted all the wealth of Israel, thinking that their wealth and power would then make them safe from all disaster.  But, through Habakkuk predicts that it won't happen - that they won't really be safe, no matter how wealthy and powerful they might be.  They "sin against their souls, and the stone will cry out from the wall, and the beam from the timbers will answer it."  The truth about them, in other words, will reverberate throughout their dominions, and doom will come upon them in the end - judgement for each and every sin they've committed.

It's a picture of the world today, is it not?  They don't believe there is a sovereign God, but in actuality every sin is being written down, and thorough judgement will come because of it.

Ruth

Pat:  We have a bed at our house that Paul could use but the best solution would be to get married.

Yes snow and more snow even today.  I have been doing some if I do not need it then give away idea it sure has a good feeling as we will be putting a box of items together for the mail.

Kristi:    Have a Happy Birthday

Al:  Thanks for your explanation of todays verse.

Have a wonderful evening.    Ruth

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful day here in Georgia and is Senior Sunday at our church.  The seniors fill the choir loft for the special music and then following the service we are provided a special valentine's meal and lovely entertainment.  This year we are again have the Georgia Classic Club, which are a group of very talented ladies who have competed in the Mrs. Georgia Contest, which is a state-wide competition.  We have two ladies in our congregation who have won this title and served a year each.  They put on a show using their talents to sing or dance either individually or in a group.  We have seen them twice before and very enjoyable.

Later this afternoon I will take our daughter back to her apartment and that will be enough for one day.

Colin, nice to see you posting this morning.

Ruth, I spoke with my sister in Northern Iowa and she said they had had snow all day long and it was suppose to be zero last night.  Of course, I had to tell her how warm it was down here.

Al, thanks for that explanation.  It certainly brought meaning to the verse.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

Good Morning to all. Today I will be doing the announcements as well as all my other jobs at the church. Our Pastor has gone to Phoenix to Pastor Barnett's church for Pastor school along with our  Women's Ministry leader and one of the Deacons. So the Associate pastor is taking over the service, he is also the worship leader, he called me last evening to ask me to do the announcements and wanted to know if I had access to the Pastor's laptop to do the PowerPoint for the songs this morning. I don't have access to his laptop although I do have his power point program on my computer. Our  projector for the computer at the church need a new bulb which costs $450.00. So I can't  put the songs into the computer at the church. So we will be without the songs this morning.

Al thank you so much to the explanation of yesterday's scripture.  what a revelation I didn't know it meant so much. Sometimes the biblical language can be so obscure in the real meanings.  :(

I see Huckabee won Kansas. Wow this election is getting so interesting.

This has been a long work week,  I have put in over 40 hours and talk about tired!!.  Those who know me well know that if they call up to midnight I will be up and the call is no problem.  Well this week I have been in and asleep by 10:00 pm and not awake till 7:30 am.  The hours are taking their toll.

Today I have a shower to go to.  Melaura who hasn't been living at home for over a year is expecting in March around the 15th.  One of the ladies in the church is hosting a shower for her.  When she left home she quit going to church and has not returned.  Pray that the Lord woos her back.

Well I have to shower and change so I am off and going yet again.

Have a good Lord's Day everyone.
