Morning Devotional...

TODAY'S INSIGHT

The Amazing Bible

I want you to remember and understand what the holy prophets said long ago and what our Lord and Savior commanded through your apostles (2 Peter 3:2, NLT).

Dear friends:

Before I became a believer in Jesus Christ, God's Word didn't make any sense to me. I tried to read it on occasions during my high school and college days, but found it boring. Finally, I concluded that no really intelligent person could believe the Bible.

Then I became a Christian. My life was transformed, and my attitudes concerning the Scriptures changed. I realized the Bible was truly the holy, inspired Word of God.

Since that great discovery, my study of the Bible, including five years of theological study in two famous seminaries, Princeton and Fuller, have helped me to understand many reasons why God's Word is so important to the Christian.

Do you want to become a man or woman of God? Would you like to know the Lord more intimately, so that you can be a more fruitful witness for Him?

The secret of becoming a man or woman of God lies in studying and memorizing His Word.

For more than fifty years, I have been memorizing scriptures and studying God's Word. But when I meet a man like the late Bud Hinkson, our former Campus Crusade director in Central Europe, I realize just how much I still fall short. Bud could recite entire books of the Bible from memory, and his life showed how much he has grown spiritually as a result of his lifetime of study and memorization. Filled with joy and peace, he literally radiated God's love to those around him.

Multitudes around the world cannot even afford to purchase a Bible. Our staff leaders in Central Asia often work with earnest, devoted Christians whose sole exposure to Christ is the JESUS film, a two-hour motion picture of the life of Christ based on the Gospel of Luke. Aside from that marvelous evangelistic tool, they have no other spiritual material. In more fortunate areas a whole village may have to share a single copy of the Scripture. For those of us so blessed to have not only one Bible but usually multiples copies of different translations, let us thank and praise our wonderful Lord. But at the same time, let us be involved with helping to get God's message to others all over the world.

Yours for helping to fulfill the Great Commission
each year until our Lord returns,

Bill Bright

My portrait painting class starts tomorrow, so it will be another busy week.

I just spent over an hour trying to find a flight from Garden City, Dodge City or Liberal to Denver, but none leaves early enough in the morning to get us to Denver in time to make our flight.  So then I spent more time researching park and fly hotels......finally made a reservation for that.  So we will have to drive to Denver the day before our flight and spend the night.  But the one I chose gives you 21 days free parking for your car with one night's hotel reservation.  And we hope they will forgive the additional days parking when we reserve another night at the end of the trip.  I know......TMI.  Sorry.

Grandson Curtis called a while ago, always a joy to hear from him!  Or any of the grandkids, for that matter.  :)

Now I must email a recipe to one of my painting friends, then I'm getting off this computer.  It makes my neck hurt.

Thanks, Janet, for Bill Bright's message ... so important for each of us to remember.

Happens to you too?   :o  This is one, very important reason I have to limit my time online ... well, at least, I should!   :-\  Sometimes I stay here in front of this machine too long and then I have to try to find relief for the aching neck and shoulders.  It becomes a matter of placing my priorities properly, y'know?   :-[

I've returned from Atlanta. It was SO good to be with the granddaughters! And, only one day in between, and they and their mom are coming here to visit me in my apartment!

The Lord provided safe travel and a beautifully sunny day for the long drive. Now, It's time to heat up a bit of supper, then plan for an early bedtime!

Janet, I really enjoyed the devotional.

Y'all have a great rest of the day.

:)  Hi to all.   Just came home from an other gospel music concert and it was so good.  It was a male trio and there message was so powerful if anyone was there and did not know the Lord when they came they sure cannot say that they went away without hearing it. :)

Again have a wonderful week.

If a man therefore purge himself from these,
he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified,
and meet for the master's use,
and prepared unto every good work.

II Timothy 2:21

Author:  Mary E. Maxwell, 20th Century
Musician:  Ada Rose Gibbs, 1865-1905

How I praise Thee, precious Saviour,
That Thy love laid hold of me;
Thou hast saved and cleansed and filled me
That I might Thy channel be.

Refrain:
Channels only, blessed Master,
But with all Thy wondrous pow'r
Flowing thro' us, Thou canst use us
Ev'ry day and ev'ry hour.

Just a channel, full of blessing
To the thirsty hearts around;
To tell out Thy full salvation,
All Thy loving message sound.

Emptied that Thou shouldest fill me,
A clean vessel in Thy hand;
With no pow'r but as Thou givest
Graciously with each command.

Witnessing Thy pow'r to save me,
Setting free from self and sin;
Thou who boughtest to possess me,
In Thy fullness, Lord, come in.

Jesus, fill now with Thy Spirit
Hearts that full surrender know;
That the streams of living water
From our inner man may flow.

Hi everyone at the beginning of a new week.  It looks like we will have a very nice day today.  My men's group is going to have lunch at Red Lobster today and that is my big activity for the day.

We had a lovely Valentine's Senior Dinner following church yesterday.  The food and decorations were excellent.  I have to be honest and say I didn't really enjoy the entertainment as it was done by our Praise Band and Singers and they had the guitars so amplified that you couldn't hear most of the words the singers said and I have very good hearing.  Part of the problem is that our fellowship hall doesn't have good accoustics.  None-the-less it was a very nice day and I appreciated the musicians even if I didn't find the music very enjoyable.

Today is the day for our housekeeper to come so we will have a nice clean house later today.

Carol, glad you all found a new church to attend that meets Don's hearing needs.

Marilyn, I probably should take the PSP classes as am finding each time I try to use it that I can't remember how to do some of the tasks I want to do.

Gord, sounds like you are getting to hear a lot of good music.  I like Southern Gospel music as well.

Janet, thanks for the new devotional thought for the week.  Hope you get all of your travel arrangements in order.  My friend, Rod, travels a lot and he usually spends the night before the trip at a motel near the airport and leaves his car there.  The hotel has a bus that drops people off and later picks them up at the airport.  This way he isn't rushed the day of his trip.

Jane, sorry to hear that using your computer is painful for you.  It makes me wonder if you have the monitor and keyboard at the right heights.

Ruth Ann, glad you had a nice trip and know you will enjoy having your grandchildren visit you later this week.

Pat, thanks for posting the hymn for us.

Sara, it sounds like you continue to work very hard.  I will remember you and your husband in my prayers.

Time to leave for coffee.

This is our new Sony computer as our old laptop has had one problem after another.  Don will have everything ready - installed before Friday when he has another all day meeting via SKYPE and now there is a web cam.  I don't think that I want to walk in front of this sneaky machine. :D

Marilyn:  I had just finished PSP classes and then we moved last year.  Have not touched that part yet.  Good for you.  It takes so much time.

Finishing a table runner - this is the binding part (the end ).   :coffee:is ready.  Now to listen to some of the news - that just makes my heart sink.  Why can't we elect an upbeat and capable person like Huckabee?  But - I can't see him ever getting elected because he has been a minister and there is so much anti-Christian in our public.  Depressing.

The keys on the Sony are large and easier - but this one was on sale and it white - white is not good for a computer.

Ruth Ann:  How far is your drive to Atlanta?  Have fun with your visitors.

Church, Sunday School and brunch was great!  I also installed QuickTime 7.6 version on the computer at church.  And added some more stills and motions to Sunday Plus.  And now when I click on a movie, it plays!  Before, it was just white and wouldn't play so I am assuming the newer version of QuickTime did it!

And I am not a people picture taking person.  When I got home, I ran my photos through PSPP and not satisfied with any but kept them.  All of them were out of focus.  So disappointed!

Today Ivalou and I are taking our tax papers to a new tax person...our old one retired this year.  Then we are to get our pictures taken at church for the directory.  Afterwards four of us gals are going out to eat!

I am getting 2 cats today.  Looking forward to that as the mouse population has increased again.

:)Good afternoon to all.  Well our day started by looking after our grandson for a short time then my daughter picked him up and left.  Then we are getting ready to go to look after our granddaughter up north.  Her dad has to go for  his first physio tomorrow since his surgery on his A.C.L.   He injured it playing lacrosse and he only had 28 seconds left in the game he is doing very well already.  He still has no job yet so please pray for him his name is Tim.  I think I mentioned that my daughter got a new job Praise the Lord.

Larry;  You were up early this day.  I am glad to here that your daughter and son are  coming along but I hope that your daughter -in law will get better.

To all others may  God give you the strength that you need Praise his name. <3 :cp:

Carol---AMEN to your comments re Huckabee.  It is really depressing to see our wonderful country being sold down the river, just to satisfy some people's greed.  :(

In spite of not feeling at all ready for my class, I made a pretty good start.  I am about a third finished with a portrait of Abby in her ballet costume from the Nutcracker.  (Oriental Dancer.)

I must not stay on here too long tonight, as my shoulders and neck are already feeling the effects of my day's painting.  I can't adjust my easel to the proper height.

Hope all of you have a great evening!

I went to PT this morning he was very complimentary on my x-rays he said people over 30 usually show some signs of Arthritis. I do not have ANY arthritis in my spine. After a few movements he told me that it is my  hip bone (pelvis) that was rocked forward in the two falls I took last year. The one down the stairs, really messed me up.

I need to sleep with pillows between my legs and sit with my feet flat on the floor, no jogging/'running or standing on one foot in Tai Chi. Not to put all my weight on the right foot. I go back on Wednesday. He said I would probably mess it up again with the lifting and packing for the move, but he will have showed me how to put it back in place through the exercises he will be giving me to do.

Hi, friends,

My trip to visit the kids in Atlanta will normally take between 5 and 5 and a half hours.

Yes, I'm really excited about my DIL and the granddaughters coming tomorrow!

Marilyn, I wish I could say the same about my arthritis - unfortunately I was diagnosed with spinal arthritis at age 17.

Y'all have a great rest of the day.

Good morning!  I got my mugshot taken yesterday.  Today Ivalou and I are going to 'work' for a couple of hours, taking the people's names and putting labels on paperwork for the photographer.  After that we will find some place to eat and then do a little shopping.

Yesterday after our pictures being taken, four of us went out to eat.  I was good.  I had a salad!

I am thinking that since I won't be wearing any of the clothes I am wearing now in Florida, I can go ahead and pack some.  We have to be selective in all the items we take this year since there will be four in the car!  Everything will have to go in the trunk or the glove box!!  This time next week we will be on the road!

Ruth Ann and Larry...I will shout a HELLO when we pass by your area!!  Plan to stay in Carterville, GA, so will yell at Larry from there!

Hi everyone.  It is chilly here this morning but getting into the mid-50s by this afternoon.  Pat left a few minutes ago to go to the chiropractor and then to Kaiser to get an x-ray of her knee and then will stop at a friends house to help her with some project.

Yesterday morning I forgot to take my heart medications and when I walked at the gym brought on chest and arm pain and felt chest pressure all day long.  I am still not feeling up to par today and walked just a few slow laps and think I will stay in today and not go anywhere else.  I should be feeling ok by tomorrow.  I have had these episodes before and it just tells me how important it is to take my heart medications each morning.

Carol, a Sony should be a really good laptop and the built in webcams are really nice.  I have that in my new laptop, which has facial recognition for signin on it.  Only problem with that is that I have to remove my glasses in order for it to recognize me.  I hope this new laptop gives you great service and the white will probably hold up well.

Etta Sue, glad to see you got the updated Quicktime installed on your church computer.  I will be listening for your "shout out" as you stay in Cartersville.  I have heard of that town but really don't know where it is.  We hope to go to Florida sometime next month depending on what Pat finds out about her knee.  The shot she had in her foot seems to have really helped with the pain.

Judy, are these outdoor cats you are getting?

Gord, it sounds like you are having fun with your grandchildren.  Sorry to hear of your SIL's injury and being out of work.  As of the last time we spoke to our son he was still employed but there was another layoff expected and he didn't know whether he could survive another one or not.

Janet and Carol, I sure agree with your comments on our national situation.  I also think Huckabee would be a good president but agree that he likely could not be elected.

Marilyn, glad you don't have arthritis in your spine.  I am also very fortunate that I don't seem to have any arthritis anywhere in my body.  It it weren't for this weak heart and all that goes with that I would be in wonderful health.  Fortunately most of the time I am not in pain.

Ruth Ann, it is obvious you are very familar with arthritis as that was a young age when it was diagnosed.  Sure you are counting the hours until your company arrives.

Well my cats have arrived.  What beautiful kitties. They are indoor cats about 6 months old.  I am not used to having cats jump on my toes as I try to sleep, or purr around my face.  as a result not much sleep last night.

Larry don't forget your meds.  That is not a good thing to do.  Slow down for a couple of days.

Be back later

2nd day of new computer and finally have Quicken loaded and the mouse is working.

JudyB:  I bought some plug-ins that send a signal over the wall wires to keep mice out.  Have two in our basement because we lived right next to an open space with tons of critters.  It is a hawk haven & the do hunt.  So far, no mice found - we did clean up dead mice after moving in and nothing is coming near now.  We bought our package over Heartland on the net & gave some to a son with a cabin in the woods.  No mice there either.

A cousin is in Yuma back from working at an orphanage & wants us to visit.  If only the bank will get its act together we could take off.

Larry:  That is a real oops, to forget your meds.  Funny how we come to rely on our prescriptions.  Not so funny.

I have tried the plug in's.  Silly mice go right up to them.  Cats seem to do the best job of keeping them under control.

Just got in from the store, bought dog food.  I went specifically for that and just about walked out without it.

We are having an easy supper tonight, then we all are going to bed early. So till tomorrow folks.

HAve a good night.

Here I am, finally.  I had a good day painting, and finished the full-body one of Abby on pointe.  It was hard to get the colors right on her costume, as it is made of that really shiny fabric, really does reflect the light.  Also is a bright magenta color, with lots of other colors in the print, and I had nothing in my paintbox that magenta color.  My friend Dee brought a tube back after lunch, it was about right, so that helped.  Her belt (or sash) was really bright gold, very interesting how many colors it reflects.  So tonight I must get another canvas ready and sketched, to be ready for tomorrow.

Larry, I forgot to take my pills yesterday, too.  And if I miss my blood pressure one, I can tell it by the end of the day.  So I drove home at noon to take them.

Boy, the wind really howled here today.  >:(  To me, that is the worst kind of weather.  Yuck.

See you tomorrow!

Ooops! Yes, I forgot my supper meds because we had "royal tea" at the World Cup of Tea about 15 miles from my apartment. It was a lovely time with daughter in law, my daughter, and two granddaughters. I brought the rest of the dessert samples back so the ladies in the office can enjoy them tomorrow.

Our server took the girls back to the choices of tea (we had a pot for our meal and a different pot for dessert). The girls' choices were delightful!

It certainly has been a wonderful day. They're lounging around in the living room on the queen sized air mattress (I got one of those 18" tall queen size mattresses), and vow and declare it is great.  ;)

Well, must get back to my family. Just wanted to tell y'all how thankful I am for a great day today.

Hello everyone.  It is almost tomorrow but as usual I am up late.

Ruth Ann, I am glad you are enjoying your family there with you.  Sounds fun!  I have been thinking about getting one of those tall air mattresses for an extra bed when we have company.  We only have one spare bedroom.  Good to hear you like it, makes me comfortable getting one.

Etta Sue, I hope you have a great trip to FL next week.  We went to Florida one time, back in 1970.  It is HOT down there in the summer!  

Carol, I too wish we could elect Mr Huckabee.  We did not even get to vote for him in the Primary election.  By the time New Mexico had our Primary, he had already dropped out.  Sometimes I wish we could have ALL Primaries on the same date, that way no one can gain momentum and have an edge over the others.  But it would probably backfire on me!

Janet, the wind was awful here today too.  Sure makes for a bad hair day, when you have to get out in it.  I am glad you have time for your painting now, and you are probably more relaxed too since quitting that job.

Larry, sorry you missed you meds one day.  Your symptoms are a good reminder of how much you need them.  It seems like we take an awful lot of pills but all are necessary.  I take 4 different BP meds, that sounds excessive to me, but the cardiologist seems to think I need a variety.

Asking for prayer for one of my brothers.  Tomorrow Wes will have surgery for prostate cancer, in Little Rock, AR.  He had several options but decided on the robotic surgery.

Marilyn, glad you did not have arthritis in your spine, it is not easy to live with! That is one of my "thorn in the flesh" problems.  I not only have that but also have the upper back bent forward, so that means chronic pain. I am 3 ½ inches shorter because of it.   Arthritis in neck and shoulders too.  I will be getting a bone density test again in about a month I think.

We visited another church last Sunday, the one where we were members over 50 years ago, when we were first married.  Things are not right at our current church, and we have felt that we should change but could not feel the Lord was leading us to do that until now.  It is a hard decision to leave church family behind, but the Lord would give us another good church family.  Dropping out is NOT an option, we need a church family.

Sarah, I will certainly pray for you and your husband.  The best thing we can do with problems is just give them to God.  That may sound simplistic, but it is true nevertheless.  What would we do w/o our Savior?  How much He loves us!

JudyB, sounds like you needed those kitties, if you have a mouse problem!  A few years ago we had a mouse problem for several days (and nights).  At the end of our block across the last street, there was a wheat field, when we first moved into this house.  We would occasionally see rabbits in our yard.  Then one winter we had a terrlble cold spell, ice and so on.  We started seeing evidence of mice in our house.  I guess they went looking for a warm place.  We bought a couple of traps and caught a few of them.  As soon as it warmed up, the mice vanished.  Thank goodness!

Maybe I better shut down the press, this is getting to be a newspaper!  Good night all.
Hello to everybody, I know I missed some of you.  Not intentional though.

Hi Nita, I see you just popped in!

Hi everyone.  I have a few minutes before leaving for coffee this morning.  I did not have a very productive day yesterday as didn't feel well and today seems to be starting the same way.  The housekeeper rescheduled from Monday to today so after coffee I am staying home today as Pat is going with a friend to a doctor's appointment.  So I won't be attending Bible Study this week with the pastor but the way I am feeling this morning I probably wouldn't have gone.  I thought sure I would feel better by today and, yes, I did take my medicine yesterday and today.

Janice, when our medications work well we start taking them for granted.  Sorry to read that you are having to find a new church but I think God sometimes leads us to do that.

Nita, they now have computers with fingerprint recognition and you can get a separate little device that works with a USB plugin for fingerprint recognition.

Ruth Ann, your tea outing sounds interesting.  I don't think I knew they had such places to eat.  Glad you had a great time.  I am sure the energy level in your apartment must be high with those young folks there.

Janet, glad that your painting is going well.  I hope you will share a picture of your painting when you are ready.

Carol, I have seen the advertisements for those devices to repel mouse or bugs and wondered if they worked.  I am glad they are working for you.  I sure don't like to have mice around and having grown up on a farm I sure know what they look like, mainly in the barn where the grain was stored.  Unfortunately, we also had rats in the barn.

Judy, sure those new cats are keeping you busy and entertained.

This is going to be a better day.  Yesterday, we had such a terrible time with our bank that Don said he felt like he could have a stroke.  One very nice but terribly inept, untrained or possibly on drugs young man has had us going in circles and sitting by the phone for almost two weeks and it just came to a crash yesterday.  Finally, his superior got in touch with us and has promised that we will not lose $5,000 because of the fault of the bank - but it isn't in writing so we wait on yet another phone call today.  Our children are fit to be tied, especially the one who is a banker VP.

Janice:  Thanks for forwarding the site for a prayer shawl.  I do like the thoughts about how you begin the project - with a prayer.

Janet:  How marvelous that you can paint a picture of Abbey.  A treasure.

Judy B:  I hope those cats work for you.  We once had a neighbor who had a barn cat that would bring all the mice to my doorstep.  Ugh

Larry:  I think that there are wrist watches that beep at certain times to remind a person of a task.  I would need a beep and a text message plus a little prodding - LOL

Ivalou and I were the photographer help yesterday from 2:30 to 4:30pm.  4:30pm came and the next shift wasn't there.  5 o'clock the same.  5:15 someone found their number and I called.  The lady had just gotten home from work and no, she didn't sign anything to 'help'.  She just signed a paper to have her picture taken.  No, they hadn't eaten yet and weren't ready for their picture to be taken at 6:15 let alone come to work.  So I felt better that they didn't forget and we stayed until about 6:25 when the next shift came in.

Then Ivalou and I had Chinese and went to WalMart.

It was almost 9pm when we got home.  I had a diet Coke and I was still wide awake at 2am!  Then woke up at 6:30 and couldn't go back to sleep.

But today besides the normal stuff...I burnt a CD of the photos I took for the Church Directory...and put some images on my thumb drive to put on the computer in the sanctuary.  I went to church and installed QuickTime on the Pastor's computer, gave the secretary the CD for the Church Directory and installed some images and a movie on Sunday Plus in the sanctuary.

Then to WalMart again!  This time I went for salt for my water softener and a few other items.  Then to AAA for Tour Books for FL, GA, & TN.  Then to Verizon.  I had a charge on my cell bill that I didn't know what it was so they called the company and they said I either accessed the internet or downloaded something...no, if I accessed the internet it was by mistake and I know I didn't download anything.  So they are giving me credit.

When I got home, I drug/dragged the two bags of salt to the back door.  I put the car in the garage and called Ivalou to tell her I was going to take the salt to the basement and if I didn't call her back in 15 minutes to come over and check on me!  Everything worked fine.  I even swept up two dead mice and threw them outside!!!

Then I was hungry so I fixed a bite to eat.  So I have been busy doing everything and nothing!!

Etta Sue ... you're "doing everything and nothing" sounds like one of my daze.  ;)  Good that you and Ivalou are so willing to step into the gap when needed, tho.

Judy ... Thanks for the info re: Pat.  I so hope the day will come (soon) when she will be able to rest from all that travel back and forth.  Too much on her plate.  Do you know how Geordie is doing?

Yesterday I went to the DMV and got Oregon license plates for "my" '99 Toyota Corolla.     The car shows that the former owner has not been too careful with it, but I understand that he has problems and I can deal with a few minor scrapes and dents.   ;)  The use of duct tape has been applied in a few places as well, and a hubcap is missing ... another hubcap does not match, maybe someday I'll take care of that as well.  I'm just glad to have a good car to get me around and over the roads when I have to travel.

It is good the hear that Geordie is starting to eat on his own. I saw where Pat had posted that on her other  site.

I am of to another Physical Therapy session in a few minutes, then to Oregon tomorrow, I am taking a load up in the car and won't be back home  until Monday. Another PT appointment then and  I have to go to work. I hate all this packing I wish I could just wave hand over  all this stuff and it would packed,.

I got my car insurance for Oregon well I haven't received the paper work yet. but I did pay  for it I went with AARP/Hartford. Same as Jane and Nita. except mine is costing more because of the ticket and the accident last year.

Carol I sure hope you get your bank business all straightened out soon.

Gotta go now.

Still freezing here on Sunny Vancouver Island.  It would help if the snow on the lawn would melt.....

I went to Duncan on the bus this morning and played a game of carpet bowling.  Learned that someone I used to know before moving here, had a heart attack around Christmas.  She and her husband were friends when Al was alive.  This was a shock as she has always been very healthy.  Sent off a card....Guess we are all at a stage where life has become a slippery slope!

Wendy is not well and in so much pain.  She is going to see the dr. about going to her specialist for another cortisone shot.  They managed to mess up her regular appt.s with him.  Also due to go for another x-ray of that lump in March.  Something else that got neglected by the GP.  Glad God is watching over things and not our medical system.

I love the graphics with the cats, Etta Sue.  They really make my day.  Also, thanks for a nice devotional Janet.  Hope your painting turns out great and you will post a picture of 'the picture'.

Larry, I owe you a belated Birthday Greeting.  Glad it was a nice day.

Must go and get Misty (cat) inside now as it is getting late.  She likes her diet food...Squeek, not so much.  I am going to look further into this matter.  Squeek is not fat.  Misty is a tad....well, slightly more than a tad.... :-\ Also checking out places that may sell the Arthritis Med. for cats that Marilyn suggested.  Think it will mean ordering online.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

I had another good day painting.  In fact, I painted an entire portrait, start to finish, before noon!!  That's a record for me!  It was so much fun, as it is a picture from a magazine, I have no idea who she is, but she's beautiful.  The whole thing is very low key, so I learned a lot while doing it.  Then I started another one, 15 X 30, of a mother holding/carrying a child of about three.  So far, I have the mom's face almost done on that, so should be able to finish it by Friday afternoon, if not sooner.  Sometimes I think it pays to not be so prepared, and so tired I don't care that much, as it keeps me from being uptight.  ;)

Ruth Ann, I'd love to go to a tea like that, sounds delightful, and even more so with lovely granddaughters.  Yep, grands are great, and greats are grand!  ;)

Larry, I sure hope you get to feeling better very soon.  And I'm glad you don't HAVE to do many things, so that when you feel under par, you can rest.

Janice, it is so nice to have you here chatting with us again.  I missed you!

Hey, Nita and Jane....good to "see" you both today, too.  Also Carol, Judy and Marilyn, Ruth and Etta Sue!  I don't have much else to say, so think I will get my pajamas on and get ready to watch those prophecy shows I like on TBN.  And hope I don't fall asleep, as I didn't sleep well last night.

Hi, Liz!  I see you posted while I was composing.  Hope things are good up your way.

Liz, I just can't imagine snow lying on the ground there.  I've never seen it like that.  But, cheer up, 'tis the season of change now, and soon there will be more sunshine and warmer weather.

I just got a phonecall from a brother in the Lord to tell me that his father has gone on to be with Christ.  That man was pastor of one church for 45 years!  And then, having moved from San Jose, Calif. to Linden, Wash., he was instrumental in starting 15 churches over the last 20 years or so.  He was 89 years old, and the only reason he stopped preaching is that he couldn't get up to the pulpit anymore.  He was extremely instrumental in my life.  I thank our God for his life.

It was sucha GLORIOUS experience having the children as guests last night and today. While my DIL was meeting with her client, we went to a large YMCA and enjoyed swimming in the just-filled-yesterday chilly swimming pool. Then, out to eat. Then to a local Dollar General Store for a little shopping session. As we pulled into a parking space, their mom pulled into the next parking space beside us!

So, it was good for all of us.

I had to slightly cut their visit short, though, because last night my right eardrum ruptured, and with the pain and discharge, it was necessary to see the doctor. Thankfully, they gave me the last appointment time at 3:45. When I got there, the doctor was running so far behind that a nurse practitioner volunteered to see me immediately. She affirmed my self diagnosis, called in a Rx to the pharmacy, and then referred me to an ear, nose throat specialist. Can you believe it!! He said if I could come to his office immediately, he'd stay late to see me!  :o At any rate, I'm now a little poorer financially, and feel satisfied that he has me on a good routine for healing. Now, to do my best to follow all the instructions so the recovery will go as planned. I have never in my life arrived at 3:45, and left at 5:15, having seen 2 different practitioners, been treated, etc. Since I was feeling pretty punk, it's a good thing they raced me on through the red tape this afternoon.

Y'all pray for a friend of mine. She has worked retail for a large hotel resort here in town for almost 13 1/2 years, and was laid off yesterday. She must get her hip replaced, so the doctor agreed under these extraordinary circumstances, he'd put her on next week's surgery schedule before her insurance expires at the end of the month. She'll be 60 next month, so we really need to support her in prayer that she'll be able to weather this health storm, then recover and be able to find another job to last until retirement. Yikes!!! These are scary times, aren't they!

G'nite, friends,

Ruth Ann

Scary times, indeed, Ruth Ann ... I pray for quick and complete healing for your ear problems.   <3

I also have a concern for which I'd love for y'all to pray about.  My daughter, in Spokane, is a single mom trying to work and raise a 15 yr old daughter.  She, as well as her sister, have walked all over their mother (because this is the way they saw their father treat her) and, tonight the 15 yr old is away from home and her mother doesn't know where she is.  I told her to call the police, and she has done that, the girl is now considered a run-away.  She has not been going to school, is very rebellious and mouthy to her mother ... keeps threatening that she is going to go live with her father ... my daughter is totally in depression over this.  I would like to ask y'all to pray for Dot and her daughter .... that there will be a solution to this problem soon .... I don't think Dot can take much more.   :-\

Hi everyone.  Happy to  be able to say I seem to be feeling better today although haven't done much yet other than get ready to go to coffee.  I spent the day in my easy chair or the bed and then went to bed early.  I didn't feel up to going to choir practice and, as it turned out, we had a bad storm(s) in Georgia last night with wind, rain, hail and tornado damage.  We had quite a bit of rain but no damage in this area or lose of power.

My new Nikon L18 camera came yesterday.  I now need to get a case to carry it with me.  I did a quick read through of the instruction book but have a lot to learn.  I think my first project will be to take pictures of everything in our house for a visual inventory that I can store off-site for insurance purposes.  I had a 2 gig SD memory card that I put in the camera and it now says that rather than 8 pictures that I could store I can now store over 770, which should be more than sufficient.

I have nothing scheduled for today.  I think Pat has plans for some afternoon activity involving quilting.

Jane, so sorry to hear of the family crisis that Dot is experiencing.  It seems too many instances of this type happen.  I will keep your daughter and granddaughter in my thoughts and prayers.

Ruth Ann, a ruptured ear drum sounds just terrible.  Certainly glad you were able to see the needed doctors and hope your recovery doesn't take too long.  The cold water in the pool doesn't sound very desirable.

Al, it sounds like your friend lived a very full and active life and touched many people.

Janet, your painting is so good and it appears you get great satisfaction from doing it.  Glad you are able to participate in your class and are happy with your work.

LIz, thanks for the belated birthday wish.  Sorry to read that Wendy is in so much pain.  It is so hard to watch our loved ones suffer and not being able to do much to help and nothing to help the pain.

Ruth, sounds like you are getting into that retirement mode.  Isn't it nice to be able to go and have a leisurely coffee time?  I enjoy doing that on an almost daily basis and plan to continue to do so as long as I can.

Marilyn, glad you are getting your insurance situation taken care of in advance of your move.

Judy, thanks for the news concerning Pat's trip back to the USA.  Hope she has a good trip.

Etta Sue, you had a really busy day and did more than your fair share.  I am sure your extra help was appreciated.

Carol, hope the bank comes through for you.  It seems we run into incompetence in so many places and that is a shame.

Ruth Ann Praying

Larry Continuing to pray.

Al Sorry about your friend and mentor.  You will see him again and he is better off than we are!

Liz I can relate about the snow. but as AL said this is the season of change, and as a dear friend says, It came to pass, it didn't come to stay.

Marilyn I am sorry about your pain.  May our Father teach you something through this.  Lean on Him.

Janet I am still praying for all that is going on around you that He will hold you in His hand.

Ruth say hello to Sue for me!

HAve a good day folks.

I don't have time to address everyone.  Just want to say thanks to all the lovely comments and to let you know I am praying for all your concerns.  God Bless You All!!

Kitty just called and asked me to meet her at Pizza King for lunch.  She said she knows we are going to Beef and Boards tonight but she is hungry for pizza.

Tonight is Beef and Boards to see 'Cats'!  Betty is baby sitting with her grandchildren whose parents are out of town on a business trip.  Marge has seen 'Cats' 2 times before.  So Bob, Kitty, Ivalou and I are going!  Should be fun.  Singing, dancing and costumes!

I woke to sunshine and a skim of snow on the ground.  Today is trash day so I walked it to Kaye Don's.  It was only 14 degrees and 6mph winds from the n/w.  I don't know when my face has ever felt so terribly cold.  I sure hurried back home and finished my walking for 18 minutes in the house.  I was still cold.

Hi, friends, thank you for the prayers and empathy. Yes, it's really good to be retired and know that on days when I don't feel well, I no longer have to "crawl in, don't call in!"

My former boss called to talk a moment, then my daughter dropped by to see me. She's not been here since the day they moved the big furniture in, and basically she approved of everything I've done thus far.

Well, y'all have a great rest of the day.

Thanks for the prayers, Larry and Judy ... Dot called this morning to let me know wayward granddaughter is "in custody" ... She phoned late last night and wanted her mom to come get her (she was ready to come home from her wanderings) When Dot got the address where she was, she phoned the police and let them know.  Later, after being taken (to a facility for "children at risk") she called and apologized to her mother and wanted her to come get her out.  Dot said a counsellor came online and talked with her and advised her to leave the kid there for a few days, but set up a parent meeting for this evening.  She told Dot to expect a lot of tears and begging to go home but not to give in to that.  I hope Dot is strong enough to heed the advice.  This is tough love, and just what is needed.

Oh, my!  So much to pray about in the posts today, and I am/will.  I pray God will be near each of you, and intervene in each situation.

Thanks for the kind words, Larry.  Yes, I enjoy painting very much.  I got the third painting very nearly completed, so will need to start another one tomorrow.  I sure want to get my money's worth out of the class, and it is expensive, especially for the small amount of time the instructor gives me.  But that makes me keep trying, and proves to me what I can do by myself.

I went to class an hour early, worked hard all day, stayed an hour late.  Need I say I'm tired?

So, see you tomorrow!

:)Good evening to all.   All of the early part of this day I spent in bed.  Two days ago I started to get a bad cough and when I did cough my chest hurt so bad it even effected my breathing.  So last night I went to the drug store and got some over the counter drugs and I think that they are working.  This is the second time that I am sending this posting as I tried to add a happy face to my post after I had done the spell check but now I know not to do that again. :)

Jane:I am sorry to here about your daughter and the problems with her daughter.  There is a place called Freedom Village U.S.A. which is in upstate New York.  This place is for troubled teenagers and there program is based on Christian teachings but also they have a full day high school program and there turnaround with the kids is very high.  It is over 90%.  There phone number is 1-800-842-8679  I have been there to see what they do and it is amazing to see the change that they can do with some of the kids that come. God bless

Larry:  I am sorry to here that you have not been so great but you have to make sure that you don't forget to take those meds.  Pleas look after yourself :coffee:

Al:  Hope that you are doing o.k. and that your legs are getting better

Etta Sue:   Just love that cat with mouse jumping on its belly.  Hope that you are keeping well.

Janet:  I agree with what you say re: so much to pray for and this world is in such a mess but we know who is in charge and he will look after us. Look after yourself :)

Judy B:   Hope that you are well and hope that you get rid of those mice.  Say hi to John. see ya sis <3 :dogrun: :cp:

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee a the senior center.  We had only a small group today.  One of our men is hospitalized and not in good condition at all.  I spoke with his wife last night and it doesn't sound very good.

I felt good when I got up this morning but it hasn't lasted and the tiredness has come back.  So I will take it easy again today.  I do want to finish up and file our taxes electronically today.  I got the final numbers I needed yesterday.

Jane, it sounds like your daughter was given good advice.  However, we all have to make these decision for ourselves.

I have read all the postings but will be brief today.

Hallllloooooo back atcha, Ruth Ann!
Is there an echo in here?   :) :)

I think I know what it was like for you when your ear drum ruptured.  The last time I had that happen was when I was around 18 or 19 years old.  Not fun!  I have had ear problems all my life and now deaf in the right ear, hearing aid in the left.  Have had tinnitus as long as I can remember.  Oh well, it could be something worse.

Larry, I hope you are feeling better this afternoon.  Sorry to hear you have not felt your best the last couple of days.  I read in our newspaper about the storms in GA this week.

Jane, I do hope your granddtr is learning her lesson while being held.  Your dtr must be at wits' end over this.  And you as well.  It is so hard when our kids, grandkids have troubles.  May your dtr come out of this with a new appreciation for you.

Janet, sounds like you are in heaven when you are painting.  I envy those of you with this kind of talent.  But then, I guess we all have our own kind of gifts.

I hope Sarah and hubby are OK and their situation is going smoother now.

Etta Sue, when is your trip?  Hope you all have a wonderful time down south.

Hello Marilyn, JudyB, Carol, and to everyone not here right now.

Wow!  I've sure been having fun!  I turned on the computer early this afternoon, and the little light that indicates it's on didn't come on.  Well, it came on, lasted about 1 second, then went back out.  Same with the internal fan.  So I thought, "Oh no, a power supply problem - that'll keep it in the shop 'til Monday!"  So I took it to my favorite Macintosh place, and he wrote it up, was going to keep it at least overnight.  I suggested he plug it in, see what it would do there.  It came right on, had no further trouble!  So then it occurred to me that the power strip was bad.  So, on the way home, I bought a new one.  Had to get down on one knee to get the old plug out, new one in.  I'm not used to all this physical work!  But, Praise our merciful Father, it worked right away, and it's been fine for a little while now.  I guess that adventure is over for now.

Janice~Dot told me the parent meeting yesterday evening involved her daughter being "mad because she was 'tricked',"and angrily denouncing her for not letting her get her driver license since she was "getting a car in June."  Dot says "that's not going to happen with her grades."  Anyway, she said, it had only been less than 24 hours and the social worker was being very fair and holding g'dtr responsible for her own actions, etc.  She had to take some clothes over for her, and watched as she performed some of tasks assigned to her.  At least, she said, she isn't allowed to sit on the couch all day and watch TV.  I believe this is a good thing, and Dot is getting a lot of positive feedback from others that she is "a good mother" to even try to get help like this for her teen.

The concensus of opinion is that the teen is out of control and really wants someone to make her do an about face and get back on the right track.  I agree.

Praise our Father for all that's happened with your gdtr. Jane, and may He bring it to an excellent end, an end in which she loves her Lord for ever and ever.

Al, glad you had that "light bulb" experience today.  I had one too, only not so vivid.  I was online right after lunch, and merrily typing away on my family's website on MyFamily.com when the strangest thing started happening.  letters would repeat about 10 times and I had already moved my fingers away from that key.  More of that, and then it became hard to get any letters to show up at all.  Finally, I had that light bulb moment.......wonder if this keyboard operates with batteries?  Yep.  I turned it over and found the little door to remove batteries.  First time I ever had that happen, I had completely forgotten this keyboard is cordless!  (Have had it about 2 1/2 years).

Jane, I will pray with you that your grdtr will come to the point where she realizes how her behavior is not acceptable and will turn to the Lord for rescue.  I know it must be a huge concern for you.

Janice, I do appreciate all the prayers from my Christian family here ... I am, and will always be, concerned when my kids and grandkids need help.  I can't do much more than pray but that ends up to be a very BIG thing when only God can supply the answer anyway.

Hi everyone.  Just my friend Rod and I at coffee this morning and it was a free coffee/soft drink day, which was a nice surprise.  We had the same experience last Wednesday.  It is bright and sunny here this morning but chilly, only 36 degrees.  We are suppose to have rain come in tonight with the possibility of some snow showers but no accumulation.  We haven't had any snow so far this winter.

This has been sort of a lost week for me as haven't felt up to doing much.  I did get my taxes filed yesterday so felt I got something accomplished.  I should have the refunds in a couple of weeks.  I have changed my withholdings as decided I was tired of loaning money at no interest to the State and Federal governments as can use it during the year.

Jane, I suppose a lot of us as parents went through turmoils when our children were teens, I know we certainly did.  Sometimes it goes on well past teenage years.  It sounds like your daughter is changing the conditions and setting boundaries and I do believe that children want boundaries, even though they rebel to determine where those boundaries are.

Janice, several years ago I bought my wife a wireless keyboard and mouse but she really didn't like it because the batteries would fail and leave her high and dry when working on the computer.  However, she does have a wireless mouse now that she likes.  I use a wireless mouse on my laptop, which I really like and may one day go back to a wireless mouse for my desktop although the wired one works well.

Al, glad you figured out the problem and that is wasn't a problem with your computer.  I am sure it also saved your many dollars.

Etta Sue, glad you enjoyed the show even if you didn't get the story.  I haven't seen the show but heard some of the music.

Hi Ruth Ann, hope that ear is doing OK now and not causing you a lot of pain.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.

Good morning!

Ruth Ann, how is your ear?  I've never had that happen, hope I never will, but it sounds painful.  So nice you are getting to enjoy grandma time with your little ones.  You are making precious memories.  Are you remembering to take photos?

Larry, I hope you feel stronger each day.  Nice to get free coffee!

Janice, good you found your keyboard problem, too.

Jane, those problems with grandkids can be so worrisome!  I am praying all works out well and the granddaughter comes into a close relationship with the Lord, and with her family.

Al, how are you today?

I came home after my five days of painting quite happy and satisfied.  I finished three, and have another one about halfway done.  Now I hope I can make me get in there and finish it before I 'get out of the notion.'  Does that happen to any of you?  And yes, I will post pictures of the paintings when I get them finished and photographed.  Of course, it has been so long since I posted a photo, I will have to go figure all that out again.  Sigh........

Today is our scrapbooking day, so I must go decide what I want to work on and get all that stuff loaded in my car.  This will complete my entire week of 'me time.'  Then..........time to start packing!!!  :D

Catch you again this evening!

Good morning, all.
Janet, yes indeedy, I get out of the notion too.  My thing is sewing, and sometimes I just take dry spells where I am not in the mood to sew.  I finally began again this past week and made a little project, and now I have made a pair of pants this week for myself.  I can make pants quickly, as I like the elastic waist kind, and have perfected a pattern that fits fairly well.  But when it comes to tops and dresses, I have problems.  My back has gotten bent forward to the point I cannot buy clothes that fit, unless they are like knit tops.  I have learned somewhat how to redraw a pattern to fit FINALLY!  It took me a long time to find instructions that worked.  It is still not perfect, but much better.  (My back problem has caused me to lose 3 1/2 inches in height!) That makes for a significant change in fitting.

Earl is up....better go make his breakfast now.

Good morning.  Larry ~ It is 36 degrees here right now and snowing big time!!  We are suppose to get 2 inches of snow but also to get up to 38 degrees.  So it may not stick!  My driveway looks wet!

Jane ~ It certainly sounds like Dot is getting a handle on her daughter.  And I agree...kids need boundaries and rules.  How else do they know what is right and wrong?  My prayers are continuing!

Ruth Ann ~ I have never had an eardrum burst.  How does that happen?  Just happens or due to a cold or what?

Al ~ Sounds like a God-thing to me!  I bought a new sweeper once because it wouldn't turn on.  After I got the new sweeper home all I needed was a new power cord!  Wish I had that old Electrolux back!!

Janet ~ Kitty paints.  She goes once a month somewhere all day for painting classes.  She loves it.  And she is always doing stenciling and such in her home.  Sometimes...sometimes her creative juices overflow and I wonder...what were you thinking...especially with computer generated photos.  They tend to get too busy.

Janice ~ My Mother was the seamstress in the family.  Ivalou can do some sewing.  I just mend.  But I crochet and neither of then do that.  So it evens out!  Glad you have found how to adjust patterns for your body!

I think I will pack this afternoon.  I have nothing else to do and it is too bad to go anywhere.  Tomorrow and Monday will be busy days.  I will set my alarm for 5:30am and have everything readyto get on the road as soon as possible.  We will stop somewhere for coffee and breakfast and head south!

I am always anxious to get going on a trip and once we are on the way, I relax.  I love driving!

Our friends picked us up and they wanted to go to a natural area that has a little water and lots of birds.  Well, we drove and drove all over and asked questions and still did not find the spot.  So, we brought our picnic back to this house and it is so nice that we have been able to sit outside for the last of the afternoon while continuing our chat.  Planning a trip to a cave next week while one of the couple will sit in the car and knit so I will go in with the guys.  One place where we stopped for information was a dog pound & sure enough, I just had to go inside - it just breaks my heart but we can't bring a dog home.

Marilyn:  We are almost finished - hope that the closing will be this week with the bank.  Thanks

Jane:  Oh, the joys of teenagers.  Bless your heart as well as bless your daughter & g-daughter.  May there be peace for all.

Larry:  Hi - I feel so tired from visiting that I need a nap.  Understand how some days are just like that!

Al:  What a great idea to check out your power bar.

Well, time to put some more things away here & perhaps take a walk.  But - we really like going out after dark to check out the stars in the sky.  Amazing in Tucson because of the low-light laws.  Love the sky views.

:cheer: Good evening to all.  Since I last posted I have not been out of my bed very much as this bug that I got I have had a hard time getting rid of it.  I am praying that it will go away very soon as I also have not been able to sleep at night.  Please say an extra prayer that it will go away.

Larry:  Please don't do to much and take it easy.  Will be praying for you. :coffee:

Jane:  I do hope you saw what I put in my previous post re the place in  Upper N.Y. FOR YOUR G.-DAUGHTER.

Al:  How are you.  Hope that you are o.k.

Janet:  I think I may have missed it but are you retired now.  Enjoy it to the fullest and may the Lord give you lots of great things to do.

To all otherson C.P. have a great weekend and God Bless. :kettle:  :cp:

Yes, Gord, I saw your post but my daughter is on the opposite side of the U.S.   There are also places that help where she lives, though and things are being taken care of.

Good morning.  It won't be long before I will be in warm weather and no snow when I look out my windows.  It is snowing again this morning.  It was suppose to accumulate 2 inches yesterday but it didn't, thank God.  I can still see blades of grass.  It is cold.....only 17 degrees and only suppose to get to 25 today!  That is cold!

After church and eating out, I am going to Kitty's for a camera/computer playtime!  A couple of women from the photo guild are coming.  One of them is having a birthday Tuesday so Kitty made a cake and I am bringing African Autumn tea ( www.harney.com ).  Hope I have time to make a special card for her.

That's it!

Hi everyone.  We are going to go to church this morning and hopefully I will feel up to going out to lunch.  Yesterday was still not a very good day but I had a very good nights sleep and even slept in a bit this morning.  Sunday is the one day I don't have to pick someone up for coffee around 7:45 so I take advantage of it to sleep in.

I don't think we had any rain or snow flurries last night as they had predicted.

Gord, sorry to hear you have been sick and hope you are much better today.

Carol, are you all buying a place in Tuscon?  I think I have missed something along the way.

Etta Sue, know you are getting anxious for your trip and getting away from the snow.

Janet, glad you had a week for yourself.

Janice, it sounds like you are a good seamstress.  I have also shrunk 3 inches in height.

Good morning, friends,

Well, this pesky ear kept me awake most of the night. At least the chills and fever are gone, so that's a harbinger of better days to come.  :)

Etta Sue, apparently my eustacian (you spell it!) tube on the right side is malformed. Since I was tiny, I have memories of hearing what I used to describe to mother as "that choo choo sound" in my ear. Of course, it was fluid build up in the ear pressing hard against the eardrum, which made my own pulse sound that way to me. After that would come excruciating pain, followed by relief once the eardrum would rupture and begin draining. I've lost count of the times that a tube has been inserted. Oh, well, it keeps me quiet during the week or two about twice a year that this happens. Other than that, I just try to treat that one ear with respect. Janice it's not completely deaf yet, but definitely the hearing is diminished on that side.

Jane, I'm praying with you about your granddaughter's situation.

Etta Sue, safe travels to y'all. Have a great time while you're gone.

Well, y'all have a God-filled day.

Ruth Ann

Carol - how much longer will you be down in Tucson?  Are you anxious to get back up north?  At least it hasn't been as cold down there as it would be up in Colo.  This is one year we've been glad we don't still live up in Oregon, inasmuch as it's done a fair amount of snowing up there, and we don't get any here.  I've personally had enough snow for one lifetime.  We got about 60 days worth of snow every year when we lived up in the mountains near Lake Tahoe.  Us old people like it as it is here - no snow, never extremely cold or hot, lots of redwoods, ocean . . .

Al, stop!  You're making me homesick for places I've never been!  ;)  Good you have such a mild climate there.  Here in Kansas, we say if you don't like our weather, just stick around for 30 minutes.  We get every kind of weather here, and sometimes all in one day.

Ruth Ann, I never heard of anyone having an eardrum rupture so many times.  That's awful.  I hope it heals soon and you are back to normal.

Sunday School and church were so good today.  Pastor and some other families have gone to Horn Creek, Colorado, so we had the guy who led our small group study as preacher, and he is really good!  We need to learn all we can about the Kingdom of God, and then enter into it fully as we can here on earth.

I must go visit Beth, as I haven't been there in three days.  Pat told me that someone from the Mennonite Brethren took her to church today.  That church is only a block from the care home, so they can walk with her, as she drives her power chair.  I'm so glad she can go, and that they are kind enough to do that for her.  Our pastor has never even ONCE visited her, even though she was still going to church after they came.  (Shut up, Janet, before you get into strife!)  :-X

I got quite a lot accomplished on my scrapbooks yesterday.  I have been thinking about sewing.......I used to be pretty good at it; made all my clothes and all of the four girls', and pajamas, shirts, etc. for the boys.  Then after I got into painting, I didn't sew as much.  I sure think I can still do it, though.  Hmmm.......

Welcome back, Pat!

Etta Sue, when do you head South?  I hope you four have such a great time; sure sounds like fun!

Gord, yes, I just retired.  Really, when I went back to work, at a completely different thing than I had ever done as a job (cooking) it was on a whim.  I enjoyed it, but it was starting to make my body hurt, so decided that peon's  wages were not worth ruining my health.  I always stay more than busy, anyway.

My sister's book that I have been helping with is finished, she has found a publisher, and now is refining the cover.  I will be so happy when I have an actual copy of it in my hands!!   :)

Carol, I'm sure you are enjoying it there in Tucson.  Quite a lot to see around there, isn't there?  And mild weather, too.

We are still praying for rain or snow, as it is horribly dry here.  Friday, during the night, we heard the wind hit, and it seemed we would be blown clean away!  When we got up yesterday, there were tumbleweeds piled across the driveway, and in front of our front door hip-high!   >:(  This whole area had a bumper crop of those thistles this year, and they are busily scattering seed for next year.  Scratchy old things.

Beth just called, and I told her I will be there soon, so I'd better get!

Hello:   The last time I was here it was Wednesday and now it is Sunday evening.  Between last evening and this morning we got more snow  soon it will be gone for another season.  Saturday past I roasted venison for dinner - it was so tender we still have enough for another meal.   Tomorrow I have a chiro. appointment and following that I will be taking my aunt grocery shopping - funny thing I have to gage when she will need to go again as she hardly ever does the asking, kind because she is considerate but it does frustrate me.  Following the groceries and errands we have lunch together.

Jane:  We all know that those teen years can be very trying.

Etta Sue:  I like your cats. We were always dog owners but cats I love as well.

Larry: Keep on getting better.

To the rest I am thinking of you as well.

Hi All Just getting reaquainted with CP after a long abscense. There has been a few changes in the format from what I remember but Judy is getting me thru it. I still run the highways in the truck but tend to run more around the great lakes now with the odd longer run to the southern US and midwest. I get home every week mostly on the weekends although lately to get the miles in I have been working thru some of the weekends and get weekdays off instead. Interesting t read all the posts again Seen some new folks that have come on the system since I was last on and of course I recognize some of the old faithfuls as well. Looking forward to spending a bit more time on here with you folks when I'm home and will eventually venture into posting some pictures as well. Have acquired a piont and shot digital comera that I am experimenting with right now. Trying to work on a bit of a theme. Will let you know how that works out. Good to be back. Going to call it a night for now. God Bless.
