Morning Devotional...

Jesus Promises the Comforter
John 14:15-31 NLT

"If you love me, obey my commandments.  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.  He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn't looking for him and doesn't recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.  No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.  Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.  When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.  Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them."

Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him, "Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?"

Jesus replied, "All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.  Anyone who doesn't love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me.  I am telling you these things now while I am still with you.  But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.  Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am.  I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe.

"I don't have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me, but I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father. Come, let's be going."

The end result of the Holy Spirit's work in our life is deep and lasting peace.

Unlike worldly peace, which is usually defined as the absence of conflict, this peace is confident assurance in any circumstance; with Christ's peace, we have no need to fear the present or the future.

If your life is full of stress, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with Christ's peace.

If anyone would have asked me where cranberries were grown, I would have never thought of Canada.  Seems to me they should grow in a warmer climate.  Learned something!

Jane ~ I prayed for ya and will continue!

Church was great today.  So glad that Pastor Steve is back after his heart attack.  I am still taking photos that need to be turned in before March 1st...but if I go to Florida, it will be before that.  Since people are signing up for the photo setting in the Senior classroom, our Sunday School class is in the sanctuary.  Later six of us women went out to eat.  A real nice day.

It's going to be a busy week this coming week.  I have something to do every day.

Ivalou and I are trying to talk Marge into going with Betty, Ivalou and I to Florida.  She still works so she needs to let them know she wants time off from work.  We have a time slot of Feb 24 thru Mar 5 for our trip.  I am thinking 8 days at the most.  Surely she can handle that.

Thank you Etta Sue.

Still praying about the situation in Australia.  Really bad there.

Quiet day here.  I am not sewing just having a "day of rest".  May even lay down and have 40 winks.

Have a great day everyone.

Thank you all for the Birthday Greeting and wishes.

Jane I am praying for you.

I had a very nice birthday weekend. The Mexican dinner was absolutely wonderful.
Keith bought me a German Chocolate cake, the kids came over on Saturday for Cake and Ice Cream after Forest's basketball game. They gave me a hooded pullover Humboldt Sweatshirt. I have been wanting on of those for some time. I did find a sip up the front hooded sweat shirt at place that give away used free clothes.

Good morning, Everyone.  I read something this morning that I had read long ago, but found it still so relevant.

"He who would pray, must obey. He who would get anything out of his prayers, must be in perfect harmony with God. Prayer puts into those who sincerely pray a spirit of obedience, for the spirit of disobedience is not of God and belongs not to God's praying hosts. An obedient life is a great help to prayer. In fact, an obedient life is a necessity to prayer, to the sort which accomplishes things. The absence of an obedient life makes prayer an empty performance, a mere misnomer." E.M. Bounds

1 John 3:22 "And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we KEEP His commandments and DO those things that are pleasing in His sight."

Kevin

Yawn......I was so drowsy I just lay down and took a little nap!  Now I'm up and at 'em again!

Good to see your post, Kevin!  I have missed you around here.  And those words are so, so true.  As I see and hear more these days which tells me "the time is near, even at the doors," I am trying to be more and more obedient to the Word.

Jane, I think I probably understand your feeling of recent days maybe better than anyone else here, and I am praying for you, dear sister.  <3

Church was awesome today.  The pastor felt an overwhelming burden to pray for the people, and that is all that was done during the worship hour.  Many went forward for prayer for their needs.  I just basked in the glory of the presence of the Lord.

Ruth Ann, it is so good to read your posts now and be able to tell how much less stress there is in your life these days.  And congratulations on the coming great-grandchild!!  I have one of those, and she is so sweet!  (Naturally---what else?)  ;)

We are not getting the rain that was predicted for this area.  Still warm and dry.

The death toll in Australia a few minutes ago stood at 108.  What a terrible, terrible thing those fires are.  I am praying for everyone there.

I actually laid out my suitcase on the spare bed and put a few items in it today!  The countdown is on!  :)

I need to order Darrel another pair of compression stockings before the trip.  I found a site, for any of you who are interested.... it is www.ForYourLegs.com   That didn't change colors, but anyway, that's the name of it.  I'm going there now!

I hope you all have a pleasant evening, and God bless!

Hi, friends,

Yes, the stress has begun to lift. After many years of working difficult jobs that required more than 8 hours a day, followed by the recovery from both retirement and the knee replacement, then having the move laid on me was nearly more than I could bear. Thanks for upholding me in prayer while I was in crisis mode.

My granddaughter in law has started a blog about the Bice baby-to-be! What fun to read her entries. They've already heard the little one's heartbeat. Wow, I don't think I had even gone to the doctor at approximately the same time during my pregnancies. It's amazing what we've learned, isn't it. For all the stresses and for all the strains, I think I prefer these days to the "bad ole days."  ;)

Y'all have a great evening.

Got up this morning to a red sky.  I guess we are in for some not so nice weather.

Girls are off to school, lunches were made last night so they were ahead of the game.

Have a good day folks.

Good Morning, All is well here on my home front. It rained last night, there was a full moon and boy is it ever cold this morning, My shoe stuck on the iron grate on my porch after I walked across the crunching lawn. It is not as cold here as other place where some of you live.

As you can tell there is not much new here and I don't have  anything intelligent to say.

Bye for now

Kevin I really appreciated that exerpt from
E.M. Bounds.  I have been trying to get this point across to my girls.  He said it well.  Again thank you.

The latest news I heard on the Austrailian front is that some of these fires have been deliberately set.  How terrible.  Whatever gets into their heads.

I have the shark to feed and sewing to get done.  TTYL

The beginning of a busy week.  The church secretary gave me the user name and password for Shift Worship.  It is a site the church paid for to download still, motions, mini-movies and countdowns.  I downloaded all the mini-movies yesterday afternoon.  It is faster with my DSL than the church's dial up.  I put them on my thumb drive and put them on the computer at church.  I went to church to take pictures of Pastor Steve and Cherie, the secretary.

Larry ~ Question.  'Sunday Plus' uses QuickTime Player and it is installed on the sanctuary computer but it is an older version.  That computer isn't on internet.  How can we get an updated version installed.  If I copy my Quick Time Player (C:>>Programs Files>>Quick Time) and put it on thumb drive and install it in the church computer...would that work?

I have called the chicks for 60 Chix and now waiting for 3:30 to get here to go out to eat and to Guild tonight.  Pray for me to not goof up too many times showing how I make my frames in PSPP.

Kevin, thank you!

This is so important for everyone to read.  We should ALL read and memorize 1 John 3:22.  Let's print it out and put it on our fridge, on the bathroom mirrors, anywhere we can see it.

I want to encourage you all too, to please keep reading the "Bushfires" topic in our Prayer area.

One of our very own members, Photobro lives there and has been updating us and he's got the family photos packed, some clothes, etc. ready to vacate.

The death toll is now 171!!!!

Here's the link:  http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8036.0

PLEASE let's all encourage Rob in there.

Going to the Doctor to get the results of my lower back x-rays that we done last week.

Interesting comments this morning Pat and Kevin. Especially the highlighted parts.

Hope the X-rays turn out well Marilyn. YOu are right about the highlighted sections.  They are so important to remember to have a close walk with our Lord, and so easy to forget.  Then when our prayers hit the ceiling we wonder what is wrong.  At that point we need to go back to the beginning and dig deeply,  He never moves it is us that creep ever so slowly sideways , and often times don't even realize it.  Oh I have been there so many times.  I try to keep my heart lining up to the only yardstick that is worthwhile.  OK off my soapbox.

Unable to fix the zipper pulls on 2 little baby jackets.  I don't have the correct size pulls for a nylon zipper.

Two t's that need to be taken in.  They are needed at AWANA tomorrow night.  I am at a loss to know why people deliberately buy clothing that is too big, then get upset when they have to pay to get it altered.  Oh well.

Judy I can emphasize with you doing the alterations, I did alterations when I worked for Mervyns and I also did custom sewing and alterations in addition to my job at Mervyn's. I worked in every department at one time or another and in alterations ½ day  on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When I left Mervyn's I was assistant manager in Boy and Toys. from there I went to  work for Office Depot and worked up to being the Administrative Assistant.

something called Lordosis in my lower back as well as Scoliosis which I was already aware of,  I have had scoliosis  since  was 12. I will be going to  the Physical Therapist as soon as I make an appointment.

Glad to have shared some of my morning readings from E.M. Bounds, and to see they were a blessing.

That was yesterday's reading.  This is what I read with my morning mug, from the same author.

In His Grip,
Kevin

The will must be surrendered to God as a primary condition of all successful praying. Everything about us gets its coloring from our inmost character. The secret will makes character and controls conduct. The will, therefore, plays an important part in all successful praying. There can be no praying in its richest implication and truest sense, where the will is not wholly and fully surrendered to God. This unswerving loyalty to God is an utterly indispensable condition of the best, the truest, the most effectual praying. We have "simply got to trust and obey; there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus-but to trust, and obey!"

Hi everyone.  This has been a very busy day for me but has been very pleasant one as it is about 70 degrees.

After coffee this morning and walking at the gym, I hurried over to Wal-Mart to get some birthday presents for our great granddaughter, who will be 5 on Wednesday.  I rushed home and quickly wrapped them up.  I had an appointment at 11:30 and stopped at the post office on the way to get the package mailed.  From my appointment I went to lunch at Macaroni Grill with some men friends and didn't get home until after 2:30.  I rested a little bit and am now trying to catch up on my computer work.  We really had a good lunch today and I was able to bring about half of it home.

Pat had a special get together this afternoon with the ladies in her quilting group from the church.

Etta Sue, you can download the latest Quicktime Player software and save it on your memory stick and you should be able to upload it on the church computer.  Here is a link:  http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/)  Thanks for the devotional for this week.

Marilyn, I never heard of that condition the x-rays showed in your back.  Hope it isn't too serious.

Etta Sue:  Thank you for today's devotions.  I hope you get to take your annual trip to Florida.

Pat:  I have been reading Rob's news from Australia and the regular news reports.  Such a tragedy.  Thank you for all you do.  You wrote that Paul and you had devotions over the phone and that sounded so sweet.

I just tasted the kumquat jam that my friend and I made.  She has a loaded bush in her back yard.  The fruit trees are so colorful here but tonight will get to freezing once again so much has to be covered.  Don and I took a hard walk today against the cold wind and we can see snow on top of Mt. Lemmon.  That road is closed.  You should see - it really isn't a blizzard here but no one is venturing outdoors.  The locals must be freezing.

taking a break from sewing - all the chairs in this house are so uncomfortable and we move around and stretch to try to keep our backs in decent shape. We went to a class on using the AED defibullator this morning - a good thing to be aware of in case of cardiac arrest.  One son told me that the insurance company for his huge building won't allow one because they believe it could cause lawsuits if used improperly or forgotten.  What a shame - easy to use & takes a few minutes.

Larry Lordosis is the  curvature of the spine commonly known as sway back.  Scoliosis is the side to side  curvature of the spine. Mine is only seen on x-rays and is not  detected by looking at  my posture.

Hi everyone.  Know it was late when I posted yesterday but I have a busy day ahead so wanted to stop by and say hi.  It will be late this afternoon before we get back home.  Pat has a doctor's appointment in Atlanta, about a block from where Stacey lives.  So I will drop her off in front of the building and go down and park at the apartment and wait for her or may walk back up to the doctor's office and wait.  We have something to attend this morning and will take a lunch with us as won't have time to stop anywhere for lunch.  Fortunately I don't have anything I have to do tonight.

Marilyn, thanks for the explanation of your medical diagnosis.

Carol, sorry to read you don't have any comfortable chairs where you are staying.  Hope it doesn't stay cold there very long.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good early morning, friends,

I have a brother in Christ who is coming to my house early this morning to help me put up pictures, do some other things I can't do to get my apartment set up properly. Isn't it wonderful when the men of the church can help those who can't do this stuff for themselves!

His wife is such a dear friend of mine. She calls me her "church mom" and last Mothers Day ladies breakfast, she introduced me as her "church mom" to her real mom. What an honor!

Well, gotta get going or he'll be here before I'm ready for him. Y'all have a God-filled day.

His vet visit was just to remove a small tumor from his lower eyelid as each time he blinked it was scratching his eyeball causing severe irritation and bleeding so it had to be removed.  He had a very small anesthetic but ever since, he's just gone downhill.  In the last year, he's lost weight and it wasn't very noticeable due to his long and bushy coat of hair.

Anyway, that's it.  Not sure what the outcome is going to be.

Awwww....please give Geordie a hug from me and tell my phone buddy that I will pray for him.  He's such a good, faithful and loving dog.

The banquet last night was nice.  The youth pastors are doing a good job with the kids; they now have over 20 who are active in the group.  The kids cooked (or helped cook) the meal, served it, did the cleanup, and also entertained us with a hand program, where they use white gloves and a black light--have any of you seen those?  There was one on you tube some time back.  This is the second one this group of kids has learned and presented.  They also went to a neighboring town last Sunday to present it.  Very impressive!  And before we left, each of the ladies was presented with a long-stemmed red rose.  Nice evening.  Oh....the menu was an appetizer (I couldn't tell what it was, something on bread, rather strange) salad, steaks cooked to order, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans or corn, rolls, chocolate cake.  They also had a chocolate fountain with all the goodies!

Ruth Ann, yes, it is wonderful when our brothers in the Lord are willing to help others with things.  A service to the Lord we love.  And I know that you help out in other ways---with things not so "physical."   ;)

I have errands today, also will go eat with my youth friends at school.  I wish you all a most wonderful day with the Lord.

It is snowing this morning!  We are not supposed to get snow on Vancouver Island.....especially not in Feb.  :ticked:

I am so sorry about Gordie, Pat.  Having a pet that is ill can be a terrible worry.  This person believes in praying for pets....

So much sadness in the world these days.  Was glad that my relatives are not near the fires in Australia.  I know the kids have horses, etc. and it is a rural area.  Think I need to find a map, as the country is a mystery to me.  We are no longer in close contact since they left Queensland.

Watched a little of Good Morning America this morning and the author of the 'Shack' was being interviewed.  Seems that we don't have to look for God, he finds us.....?  Guess this subject is best  left alone.

Thank you Kevin for your postings.

Hope everyone has a wonderful, safe day. :)

God Bless.

Good afternoon to all:

I have finished 2 loads of laundry and the last is calling from the dryer.

I also have a loaf of Whole Wheat Bread in the bread maker and soon it will be calling as well.  I have no problem doing the white bread and rising but the whole wheat for some reason seems to remain small any ideas why it the same happens today I am thinking that I will try again by increasing the yeast.

Another thing I have been doing is shredding  the shredder is resting while it cools off.

Opps a noise in the basement better go.     Ruth

Today was doctor day.  First, I didn't know my doctor was even pregnant let alone that she had a baby boy last Friday!  So I had a sub doctor.  My appointment was consultation from blood work last week.  Results:  I now need to watch my diet...have low fat, low sugar, get more exercise, lose weight and take and record my BP twice a week and return for another fasting blood work and see the doctor in 7 weeks.  At least, my regular doctor will be back in 6 weeks.  In other words, my cholesterol was up, my weight was up, my blood pressure was highest its ever been.  Not good news but kind of expected...I think I have been squeaking by for years... ::)  I told her about the InterStim Therapy and she thinks that will be good.  And told her about my lower back pain...lose weight!  And bouts of diarrhea...Metformin causes that!  So I came away with information and hope in 7 weeks I will surprise them all!

Larry ~ I have downloaded 7.6 version of QuickTime and have the file on my thumb drive!  Thanks bunches!!

My presentation last evening at Guild was well accepted but they said they would never remember all of it.  I didn't expect them to remember...just showing them a feature in PSPP that PhotoShop does not have!!  And probably why my BP was up today!!

I came home and did a load of laundry, dusted and swept some in preparation of the minister's wife coming this evening.  After that I took my BP and it was 122 over 71...at the office it was 140 over 84.  White coat syndrome?   ???

Hot decaf tea and pretzels for a snack this evening!  Low fat, low sugar!!  ;)

Pray for Pat She has taken Geordie to the vet again today.

Ruth I have tried Whole wheat as well.  The thing is the flour is heavier and as a result doesn't rise as easily.  Try the yeast that may work also try using warmer water.

Have a great day folks

Liz, our God, who made us as we are, knows EXACTLY who you meant, and we do, too.

Pat, I do hope Geordie begins to do better right away. It's so sad when our pets are ill.

Well, this has been an "up n at'em" day here in Nashville. Not only did our brother in Christ come and do all I requested, he wouldn't even take a dime for what he did. So, at least I treated him to lunch at a local chinese restaurant.

Then, I bought pajamas for that sleep-over at the CPAP lab tonight, had a pension paper for my former employer notarized, got my iron tabs, got another medication that was needed from a different store, had my auto license address changed, renewed my handicapped hang-tag, got my drivers license address changed, which required a new photo (yukkkkk), and then to the bank.

So, now, I'm leaving to go to the sleep center. Am supposed to report about 7 pm and it's 6:30 now.  :P

Y'all have a good evening - sleep well, and pray that I will do the same!

Thank you for all of your kind thoughts on my buddy.  When he's been such a close friend for all these years, it really is difficult to see him sick.

Anyway, we had him at the vet most of the afternoon and a liter of saline was given to him via I.V. and near the end, he put in some mega dose of liquid vitamins, a steroid and some antibiotic.  We had to try several times to get the needle in for the I.V. as his poor veins were collapsed and he was so dehydrated.  We finally succeeded.

And Geordie walked on his own out of there!  He's not out of the woods yet but it was amazing to see.  He probably has something wrong with his liver and/or kidneys but as long as he's not in pain.

So, we'll see how he comes through the next 24 hours.

Thanks again, folks.  You are so very special.

Pat  how are you holding up through this? I know how difficult it is  when our babies are sick and not feeling well. We worry so much for them.
I do hope that Geordie will be well very soon.

I am off to bede.  It has been a long day and I am very tired.

We are continuing to pray about the situation in Australia, as well as all the issues mentioned here.

Pat, I am so sorry to hear that your buddy Geordie is ill.  Hopefully the vet has him on the road to wellness now.  I know you were glad to see him able to walk out!  How have you been this winter?  Long distance travel can sure be hard on the system.  I hope you are feeling well and ready to go again when you need to.

Ruth, may I suggest that you add some gluten to your whole wheat bread to help the rising and make it a little lighter.  You can find it in the store near the yeast, etc.  Sometimes it is called gluten flour, or vital gluten.  I make our bread and always add gluten even though my recipe has half whole wheat, half all purpose flour, also some oats.  It makes great toast!

JudyB, I read about your experience with sewing for the lady who was so hard to please.  It amazes me how people who don't sew have no idea of the work and effort to "fit" clothing, it is not an easy job.  And they seem to think home seamstress work should be priced like Wal-Mart or something like that!  Baloney!  I am glad you are not going to sew for her anymore, she does not know how to appreciate what you did for her.

Etta Sue, if anyone can get 'er done it is you!  If my blood pressure was that low I would call it good!   :)  I checked mine a couple days ago because I was having nosebleed and a headache.  Rarely ever do I have a nosebleed.  My BP was 142/84 and I was satisfied with it, although sometimes it is much better than that.  My cholesterol is always bad and nothing I do helps it.  So – I have decided to just ignore that.  I can't take the statins, they affect my liver.  There are other indicators of heart risk, I had test done to check for inflammation and it was normal.
Do you take a pro-biotic, that might help with the diarrhea.  I take PB-8.  Also enzymes for better digestion helps.
I better hush before someone thinks I am trying to practice medicine!  haha

Ruth Ann, sleep apnea?  My daughter has that, and has used a CPAP machine for a number of years.  It helps some, but not enough (for her).  For most people I think it is a great help.  Good luck on your sleep test.  Elaine had hers done in Amarillo, and they found that she "awakened" 90 times an hour, or something like that, if I remember right.
Glad to hear you say that there is less stress in your life now.  I hope you enjoy your new apartment living, and your retirement there.  And you are gonna have a new great grandchild!  That is exciting news!  We will have a new one too, in July.

Today at Bible study, we learned that a friend of ours we have known more than 50 years is in hospital with the Flesh eating disease!  Mercy, he had a close call.  Doctor told them if he had waited 8 more hours to come in, he was a goner.  He had surgery to remove all the affected tissue, and they were keeping him in ICU for the time being, not because he was critical but because of the nature of the disease.  Pastor said that in 12 hours he had gone from healthy to very serious condition, it happened that fast.

Hello Janet, Carol, Marilyn, Larry, Al, I know I can't remember all who post here.  But hello to everyone.  Hope all are well.  I ran out of ooomph, so I quit writing.  Didn't mean to ignore anyone, just tired.

G'Night
~Janice

Good morning, friends,

I'm home from the sleep study. Now, to get all that gel stuff washed outta my hair! I feel all stuck up --- literally!  :idiot:

Speaking of home sewing and handcrafts, I've been looking through a crochet/knitting catalog. Hmmmm - wonder what I'll decide to make first???

Y'all have a good day.

Janice ~ Thanks for the suggestions, Dr. Janice!  ha!  I did tell the doctor about a possible surgery coming up for
InterStim Therapy (http://professional.medtronic.com/interventions/sacral-nerve-stimulation/overview/index.htm), so she is wanting to prepare my body for that.  She sounded like that would give me a freedom I have never had and didn't want the surgery canceled because of my health that could be corrected in a few weeks.

Ruth Ann and I had a great time downloading Motions and Stills from the web.  I have them all organized and ready to load in the computer at church.

Today Red Hats was canceled so I am going to Kitty's and we are going to mat my photo contest entries.

It is raining....my home phone didn't even have a dial tone yesterday afternoon...now full of static!  I had a half ring this morning around 5:30am and three times since I got up.  Something is really wrong in Denmark!  But when I called yesterday they said it would be fixed by 11am...but what does she know?

Janice:  I have not seen you posting in a lonnnnnnnggggg time.  We are in Tucson for three months this year as we had paid and promised to be here a year ago.  We may never do this again because of cost but do save on heating the house at home.  Besides, visiting is really important in our lives, isn't it?  How are you two?  Did you get some snow as well?

Etta Sue:  All of your descriptions of what you eat when you go out with friends - I would be in hospital but loving the food.  I have kept my BP down by forcing myself to exercise (mainly walk) daily.  A full hour.  You can do it and you will feel so much better - just another habit.  Please take care.

Liz:  It snowed in Tucson and this is the most since the 70's.  Beautiful and the desert will be blooming in March & April, also beautiful.

Larry:  Complaining about the chair situation - that is such a little thing.  The owners have a very modern 3-piece sofa of hard leather & low back with deep seat.  Well, Don sits in a lawn chair instead & I have to put a blanket on the seat of the sofa or else I slide all the time.  It is crazy.  The most comfortable seats are our Honda van but we can't keep driving all the time.  :coffee:

Pat:  Thinking of you and your faithful companion.

We have found another church to attend & will be there this weekend.  So looking forward to this one as well.

Ruth Ann:  The Lion brand yarn has a great site for free patterns - just google it and you will find it.  I can't knit very well at all and they have simple patterns for my level of expertise which is nothing.  Enjoy!

I made a great start this morning.  Got up, made my coffee, cleaned the oven   and was about to do more stuff when my sister called.  I had sent her two more stories for the book we are writing, and she had questions.  Then I got sidetracked, looking for a scrap of paper on which our Dad had written a short poem.  I spent 30 minutes going through my desk drawers, no luck.  But I did get rid of a pile of junk from my desk, so it wasn't all wasted.

Now I need to get ready to go to Garden City with Darrel.

It sounds as if everyone is busy, busy, busy!  Janice, it sure is good to read your nice long post!  My blood pressure usually runs in that range and I don't worry about it.  I completely stopped worrying about cholesterol, as I cannot and will not take the statins!  And Dr. Blaylock insists that cholesterol is NOT the cause of blocked arteries, but it is oxidized cholesterol, and that what we need are anti-oxidants, so that's what I take.

Pat, I sure hope Geordie continues to improve.  Bless his heart.

This old world sure is in a mess, huh?  Makes me so glad I know Who holds tomorrow, and Who is really in control!  :)

Better get going!

Good morning, Carol!  We were posting at the same time.  I remember once when we visited Darrel's brother in Costa Rica, he didn't have a comfortable chair in the house.  And the house was all of concrete and concrete blocks, no carpets, and was miserably cold.  The only way I could get warm was to go outside!  So I sure understand.

Hi everyone.  Today has been another one on the go as right after coffee we had our weekly Bible Study, then went to the tag office for tags for one of our cars and then to the donut shop for about an hour of visiting with friends.  Finally, Pat and I went to a new Kentucky Fried Chicken place and had the buffet, which will serve for two meals.  We then filled the car with gas.  I came home and rested for an hour and now trying to get caught up on the computer.  Tonight is choir practice.

There are so many good postings since I was here yesterday morning that I won't make many individual comments.  Do want to say Pat that I, as all the others, are pulling for Geordie as know he means so much to you.

Hi, all.  I just stopped in to see how Geordie was faring today.  I understand how you feel, Pat, about not wanting him to be in pain.

We have all kinds of sick people here.  I'm well, so have had my little ggdaughter the last few days.  Her mom has been really sick and Maycie too. She ended up with Roseola too.  Nothing sadder than a sick baby's little face.

She's crying now, so better get back to her.  I think it's nap time.  Nita

I was talking to Pat last night and she said Geordie is doing a bit better.

We have had a couple of days of 38F plus weather.  Today the temperature is dropping rapidly.  It was 39.2F at 6 and it is going down to about 14F.  There was rain, now snow.  In the last 24 hours we have had everything the weather can throw at us,  Sun, rain, fog, ice, snow, and wind. Unbelievable for this time of the year.

Have a good day folks

I see there haven't been many posts for a couple of days. Well I am here now and I  am also guilty of not posting.

Yesterday I called my car insurance company (AIG) to find  our about transferring  the insurance to Oregon, They told me that  Oregon has different  minimum amounts for coverage, higher than California. They want to charge me over $600 for 6 months coverage.  :ticked: That is so outrageous for my old 88 Chevy celebrity.

I called Progressive and they said $361 for 6 months So I am changing companies. P told me that they couldn't see how AIG could possibly charge that much. I have to wait until the 1st  to change to pay for it but it won't go into effect until the 14th of March when I move. I have all but the $61 that I have saved  just for that  purpose. I jokingly said to the  Progressive agent that AIG must need the money for vacations.

My client has been taking me to lunch at the new BBQ place here in town almost every day. They sure have good good. We buy one meal and share and there is enough left for her to take some home. he dogs are sure loving the bones. She give hers to her dogs as soon as we get in the car. I am glad I am not taking them in my car.

Thank you Judy for letting us know that Geordie is doing a little be better, I hope he continues to improve. I worry about Happy to as he ages, he longer is willing to walk on  the floors that don't have carpeting or to go up the step into the kitchen. When I take him to the vet we have to pull him part way over the floor on his belly before he will get up and walk.
It all started when they were both int he kitchen and Bebe playfully  jumped on him and he slipped and fell.

Y-all Have a great day.

Larry!

Kitty and I got my three photo entries matted and framed yesterday.  I left them at her house since she is going to take them to Kokomo for me Feb 25.

Ivalou, Betty, Marge and I have decided to leave for Florida Feb 25th.  It will be fun to be with all of them and those in Florida!

My phone is fixed again.  But not be Tom...we are first name basis now!  At the corner west of me is a crew of 5 Embarq vehicles.  The whole where the junction box is was flooded...therefore, static and/or unable to use your phone.  So they are suppose to be pumping out the water, and fixing it right.  There reason for it not being fixed before...the ground was frozen!!  Bad service for about 6 months.  At least my DSL with Embarq hasn't been down!!

Today is 60 Chix.  Gotta run!

:hbirthday: :hbgift:  :hb3: :hb2: Let's all celebrate Larry's birthday!!  Many happy returns, and I wish you every blessing from God.  You are a dear Christian brother, Larry.

Carol, I don't know why no comfort in that house, but Don didn't seem to even notice, he thought it was a wonderful house.  Same with the one he lives in now...they have been there nearly 20 years, and not ONE thing has been repaired, repainted or updated.  It is falling down around them, and he still thinks it is worth a fortune.  :idiot:

Well, I got a new printer yesterday.  That wasn't my intention, I only needed new ink cartridges, but Darrel said the cartridges would cost almost as much as a new printer, so we came home with a new HP Laser color printer.  Now I need someone to show me how to print photos.  I tried and tried last night, and all I ever got was a tiny portion of the upper left corner, enlarged to 4 x 6.  :ticked:

We lost our renters, the ones we hoped would stay forever.  The guy lost his job that he'd had for 12 years.  He thought he was secure, but NOT.

We need to go to the store and get ingredients for the lunch we are making for my painting friends on Saturday.  Not many coming, though, at least as far as I know now.  :(

See you later, friends.

  Good morning

We had rain all day yesterday and today it has been windy with a mix of rain & snow, watching the weather station we are experiencing record breaking rain fall.

I mentioned the shredder overheating well it burnt out so were given a free replacement. We had purchased it from Staples and paid the extra few dollars for coverage - in this case it paid off.

Judy: About making whole wheat bread we are not out of the woods yet but we think the liquid temp. is likely the problem.  When Mel gets home with a bag of whole wheat flour I will try again.  I had done a yeast test this morning with 2 different liquid temperatures the warmer liquid produced the best results.
This was a good site for bread as well  www. breadworld.com

Larry:   Happy Birthday

Pat:   I know that your are keeping watch over Geordie.

Janet:  Interesting we had an HP printer/fax but replaced it with an Epson printer no fax yes with Epson the ink is more expensive we like the colors best. Even our computer man is not fond of the HP name to many bells and whistles for him, he favors simple.  But we have an HP monitor our choice no problems. I also have an HP portable photo printer the ink colors are fine but I must use Epson paper not store name so in this case it is the paper that produces the best color results.

I have some errands to do so best be on my way.

Ruth

Hi everyone.  Thanks for the beautiful card Marilyn and thanks to each of you for the good wishes.  This morning at coffee my good friend, Rod, had a birthday pear with a candle and some nice candy around it on a red plate for me.  The guys softly sang happy birthday to me.

I have spent the morning checking websites and deciding to buy a new digital camera.  I am getting a Nikon L18 8.0 mp, 3" display, 3x optical 12x Total zoom, anit-shake and face detection.  It is costing me $101 buying online from Costco.  I checked a lot of other places and this remained the best price.  All of these features work in an automatic mode, which is what I want as am not a photographer.  It also will take moving pictures with sound.  It is amazing how the prices have come down.  This should be small enough so I can keep it with me and have it when I want to take a picture.  The old camera I have works but is large and I never have it with me when I want it.  Maybe I will be able to get a few pictures to share.  It should be here early next week.

This evening my friend Rod and his wife Betty are joining us at City Slickers for dinner and then will probably come back here for a little visiting.

Etta Sue, that should be a nice time to go to Florida.  We hope to get down to St. Petersburg sometime in March.  The exact time will depend on some doctor appointments that Pat has and how she is feeling.

Carol, I assume that was "tongue in cheek" surprise about the renaming of things for you know who.

Marilyn, a friend of mine recently changed insurance companies and is saving about $800.  Unfortunately, our daughter was on her insurance until about 2+ years ago and had some tickets which prevent us from getting better rates until 5 years pass.  At least that was the my experience when I checked right after I took her off our insurance.

Judy, thanks for passing on the more encouraging news concerning Geordie.  I am sure Pat must feel some relief.

Stacey's doctor sent a letter to her employer telling them she wasn't able to work full-time.  She is going to work 4 days a week for 4 hours a day.  She went to work yesterday but they sent her home as she already had her 16 hours in for this week.  She was so exhausted from the two full days that she slept all day yesterday.  Her foot is also giving her a lot of pain.  She thought this may have been from having to have her foot down all day long.  We haven't talked with her today.

Ruth, I always try not to do too much shredding at one time as the units do overheat easily.  I have a lot of shredding that I need to do but don't like doing it.  I have a friend who recently got a new HP printer but it was so complicated to use that he took it back and got a less complex one that still does a lot of things.  I don't remember whether he changed brands or just got a less expensive one that was simpler.

Janet, I wonder if any jobs are secure anymore.  Sorry that you lost your good renters.

This HP printer is pretty simple, nothing fancy as I don't need the extra features.  I hope it will work out well for me.  I had that same photo printing problem with two previous printers, so I think it's time I got someone to teach me how to do it right.  :-\

I just got home from having a wonderful two hour massage!!  It was a Valentine special, spa massage.  It sure felt good!  I very seldom get a massage because I'm too tight to spend the kind of money they charge for them.  But I feel relaxed, so think I will head to bed now and hope to sleep well, as I have to be at work at 6 AM.

Happy Birthday, Larry!
I hope you have had a truly blessed day today.

Hello to all, I stopped by again for a few minutes.  Hope everyone is doing well, and also hope Geordie is gaining strength.

Jane, I hope your situation for which you asked for prayer is much improved now.  Nothing like the feeling of relief at our Savior's care and comfort when we need Him most.

Adios for now.

Hi, friends,

Hope it's not too late to wish you happy birthday, Larry!

I'll be heading to Atlanta tomorrow. It's about time I got to see my gals again (and of course, I'll also get to pet my Shelby dog again). It's a shame she's too large to live with me, but I'm adjusting to the apartment really well.

Now, y'all have a great weekend, and know I love each of you with the love from our Savior.

Ruth Ann it is sad you have had to give up your dog.  :'(   I don't think I could do that with my girls.  I realize that for you it is for the best though.

It is early here, I really am not a morning person, so these early mornings have always been a point of discipline for me.  Hopefully John will be home today, he had a rough night last night.  One dispatcher thinks the frivers are an extension of the truck and treats them as machines.   :clobber:  After a full day's work he expected him to do another 4 - 5 hours work.  :ticked: Thankfully someone intervened and his day did end, late but it ended.   :-\

Going to go now, but will be back later.

Hi everyone and thanks again for the birthday good wishes.  I had a very nice birthday with some calls from family members and last evening our good friends joined us for dinner and then came back to the house for a light dessert and some more visiting.  It was a nice and relaxed day.

Al, I guess the 8 candles represent the fact that I turned 68.  I have to say I feel better now than I did on several previous birthdays.  I feel very blessed.

Janet, glad you were able to have the massage.  I have suggested to Pat that she one but she has always vetoed it.  Hope you don't have to work too hard today.

Ruth Ann, hope you have a very nice drive to Atlanta and visit with your family.  It should be a nice day today.

Judy, I have to say I am a morning person and have never had any trouble getting and going in the morning.  However, I am not a night person.  It is a shame when employers take undo advantage of their workers.

Time for coffee at the senior center.  I have a quiet day planned.

The above is to remind you men what day tomorrow is!!   ;)  Us women have known for at least two weeks!!   :roflBig:

60 Chix was fun yesterday.  We went to a fine restaurant...cloth napkins...and we all felt the meal was truly exceptional.  There was 7 of us.  A small enough crowd to visit easily.

At 11 today Ivalou and I are going to take some watches and get new batteries in them and then go to the first pizza place in our area...Art's Pizza.  They have the best roast beef sandwiches!!!

Euchre is this afternoon.  That's always fun.

And Betty, Ivalou and I met at Marge's last evening and we are leaving for Florida Feb 24 for only 7 or 8 days.  It will be a fast trip but Marge is leery about that many days!

Etta Sue I am baking heart shaped cookies today and we will have them when John comes home.  Was thinking of baking a cake but too much in cake that we don't need.  Cookies can be frozen and hidden.

Take a read at the latest update on the Austrailia situation.  There are pictures posted as well.

Have a good day folks

Janice, the "situation" is ongoing, but I was able to meet and talk with a dear friend (Nita) and she gave me some insight and reassurance about it.  I was feeling so overwhelmed with sadness and helpless to know what to do about it.  I will always be grateful for Christian friends at times like this.  And, especially a friend who will drop everything and meet me over a cup of coffee to share and uplift.

We have a sunny and cooler day - lovely in my books.

Judy:  You have have given me an idea perhaps I will bake some heart shaped  cookies.   After struggling with our bread machine I think the problem is solved, the liquid ingredients just were not warm enough.  What I had been doing was fine for the white bread but not with the whole wheat, a heavier grain to work with I guess.

Janice:  It is good to hear that you have a very dear friend that will give all to chat with you.   Sad that I am not able to say or feel the same way. I have wished many times that I had a sister but it was not in God's plan.  I have had the door slammed and backs turned which leaves me with so little trust although the one and only true listener is Jesus Christ.

Mel has left for a Dr's appointment which is something of concern.

The phone has already rang once and now again so best move along

I enjoy baking 100% whole wheat bread and so I get it all mixed and kneaded in my bread machine but then I take it out, put it in the pan and let it rise one more time.  This solves the rising for me.

The American Family Association has paid for their movie entitled "Speechless...Silencing the Christians" to be on various TV stations across the nation.

Two TV stations, WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, MI and WSYX-TV in Columbus, OH, have banned a television special showing how the media is silencing Christians. The stations bowed down to the demands of a handful of homosexual activists and banned the showing of our TV special "Speechless...Silencing the Christians." The one-hour TV special was scheduled to be shown on the stations, but the stations yanked the program after agreeing to run it. AFA was paying for the time.

You can watch the movie below:

Oddly enough, the TV special shows how the media censors Christians, which is exactly what these two stations did!

They said the program was "controversial." The stations do not consider showing two lesbians or two homosexuals kissing or getting into bed with each other controversial. The stations do not consider all the profanity they air controversial. They regularly show network programs advocating the homosexual agenda, but those programs are not considered controversial. However, a special showing of Christians being silenced is controversial!

The manager of the Columbus station told AFA the station would not air the program because telling the truth about homosexuality did not represent "positive Christianity." Are we moving to a time in the near future when local pastors whose services are broadcast will be banned because their sermons call the practice of homosexuality a sin?

Please, forward this critical message to your family and friends today!

Pat:  There is such a conspiracy against anything Christian.  Go to a public library and see an entire row of books for teens/lesbians/gay leanings.  But just try to find a book from a conservative - they will order one book only if you ask.  The agenda is so blatent.

Janet:  Sad about your good renters.  Where will they go?  Will they be homeless?

Ruth:  Don buys his Epson ink from:  www.MegaToners.com  - also, I won't even buy HP - they are so out of sight in their prices & so forth.  We get fantastic pictures just from high quality photo paper & be sure to set the setting at high quality print.  Good luck.

Larry:  LOL, you know me too well with my sarcastic remark back there.  I do hope Stacey can keep her job.  Well, you are older- I am not there yet.   <3

Jane:  thinking of you.  Take care of yourself.

No, Carol, the former renters aren't homeless.  They own a house in Pampa, Texas.  But they are out of a job, with no prospects in sight yet.  Times are getting tough for lots of folks, aren't they?

Pat, it is already considered 'hate speech' to even read the scriptures that condemn homosexuality in some places.  Darrel and I were talking about some of the things happening in the world today, and he said he is glad he is as old as he is, that he doesn't want to see what the world will be like in 30 years or so.  I agree, but I truly believe we will be out of here and in heaven well before then!

I have had a really busy day!  I worked, then went to Pat's and she colored, cut and styled my hair; then I came home and made bread and cinnamon rolls.  Now I'm going to the store for a few things, then will bake Larry's birthday cake!  Hope you like Black Forest Cake, Larry!  ;)

Time to get the rolls out of the oven!

Hi everyone.  I got up fairly early this morning and am getting caught up on my discussions and e-mail before going to coffee.  We have a meeting to attend this morning and then the rest of the day is free.  I did a lot of reading yesterday, more than I have done for a long time.

Ruth, I'll have a slice of that hot homemade wheat bread.  :)  Glad it turned out well.

Janet, that Black Forest Cake sounds super and since it will be here I won't have to worry about those extra pounds.  I also love cinnamon rolls, especially the kind that are gooey when turned out of the pan.  It has been a long time since Pat made any of them as neither of us need them.  Thanks.

Carol, I also buy the printer ink I can from a company in Florida and have had good luck with it.  Unfortunately it is not available for one of my printers.  On my older Canon printer, and on Pat's Canon printer, I get three cartridges for the price of one.

Pat, I will try to watch the movie and glad it can be made available on the Internet so it will get broader distribution.  The media has been conducting a campaign to erode our culture and we are seeing more and more things that are bad being called good.  We are living in tough times in many ways.

Jane, I just did some reading this morning that seems to fit with your posting.  I hope this will be helpful and sure glad you had a good friend to talk with as often talking about something helps us focus our own feelings and thoughts:

Confusion can be a gift from God. Looking back on instances when I felt desperately in need of an immediate solution, I can see that often I wasn't ready to act. When I became fully ready, the information I needed was there for the taking.

When I know too much about my options before the time is right to exercise those options, I tend to use the information only to drive myself crazy. That's why today, when I am feeling confused, I try to consider it grace. It may not yet be time for me to act.

I think that dealing with confusion can be like cooking. If the bread isn't done, I don't take it out of the oven and insist that it's time to eat. I let it finish baking. If a clear solution to a problem hasn't shown itself yet, I can trust that it will appear when the time is right.

Etta Sue, isn't it interesting how having cloth napkins seems to make our meal so much more enjoyable.  For several years Pat has made a lot of cloth napkins and we use them here at home.  They are not fine linen napkins but still so much better than paper napkins.  It sounds like you had a busy day yesterday.

It was raining when I got up and pretty dark out now but think maybe the rain has stopped.  It is not suppose to continue all day.  We need the moisture.

Today, we will go to a carving show nearby and I really do want to sew the binding on a table runner for a gift - the very last round of stitches, I always do by hand.  I found out that a Viking walking foot fits my antique Singer so that makes me happy - borrowed one here.

There is a big container of fresh chicken noodle soup refrigerated overnight.  Too much for us, unless I freeze portions.   You can have it - just show up.

We are going to a service tonight at a place we have not attended previously.

We all had lots of laughs at Euchre.  I got my slice of Pizza after all and a salad at Jan's.  So much fun!  I didn't get home until 7pm!

Today is dark and gloomy.  There was a skim of snow when I got up but it is gone now since it is above freezing.

I have some Zucchini Bread to make today.  After church tomorrow we are having a Brunch.  The elders are fixing biscuits and sausage gravy.  The rest of us bring brunch items...breads, fruit, breakfast casserole, cinnamon rolls and such.  Should be fun!

Good morning.   ;)  I am here earlier than usual (for me) because I have a bit of "going" to do in a few minutes.

Larry, thank you for that article ... I do feel that way much of the time.  And, at the moment, actually I am doing just that ... waiting until the time is right.  I have learned that if I "possess my soul with patience" I feel more peace and can be confident that God will bring all things to pass in His timing.

The is what I am doing today, I have filled the trunk and the back seat with boxes and 2 plastic tubs just to get them out of the way so I can vacuum, I will take them up  on Thursday. My house is so small that I have no place to stack the  stuff I have packed that is out of my way.

So I have cleaned my kitchen  and am waiting for the floor to dry so I can put the  chairs and dog dishes back on there and have room to vacuum the living/office room. I will be going to Blue Lake to spend time with the grands later.

Back to work now.

In light of the movie I posted in here yesterday for you all to see which Paul and I have just watched, how we should be moved and compelled to "Walk in the Footsteps of Jesus" all the time no matter what.

The verse says it all:  "'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me'."  That's a big word, "IF"    And what should we do IF we want to follow Him?  We must deny ourselves and take up our cross and FOLLOW.

Let's sing it together.

Footsteps of Jesus  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/footsteps-of-jesus.mid)
(Click to hear music)

Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me,
he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me'.
Matthew 16:24

Words - Mary B.C. Slade, 1826-1882
Music - Asa B. Everett, 1871

Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,
Come, follow Me!
And we see where Thy footprints falling
Lead us to Thee.

Refrain
Footprints of Jesus,
That make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus
Where'er they go.

Though they lead o'er the cold, dark mountains,
Seeking His sheep;
Or along by Siloam's fountains,
Helping the weak.

Refrain

If they lead through the temple holy,
Preaching the Word;
Or in homes of the poor and lowly,
Serving the Lord.

Refrain

Then at last, when on high he sees us
Our journey done,
We will rest where the steps of Jesus
end at his throne.

Refrain

Something from my morning readings...

"You will never attain to the mountain of internal peace if you govern yourself according to your own will...Your directions, your judgment, your disposition to rebel must be subjected and reduced to ashes.  How?  In the fire of obedience, for it is there that you will find out if you are truly a follower of Divine love or self love."  --Michael Molinos

I had the opportunity to go see a person called Nick Vujicic who is from Australia but living in the States now.  He was born with no limbs but I have not heard such a blessed speaker  as he is.  This took place in the same town where the Continental plane that crashed on Thursday night en-route to Buffalo Airport.  The plane was delayed 2 hours and if it had been on time it would have been going right over the church at the time that Nick was telling about two things that had happened to him one being a near plane crash and the same day a near fatal car crash.   The church was so close to where the plane went down.

This service was so powerful and many many people went forward at the invitation at least 200 or more.

Friday Night I went to a southern Gospel sing with 1Solo Guitarist and I have never heard anyone play the way that he did.  The there were two Quartets   The Watchmen over 41 years together then the 2nd. group called The Calvarymen from Michigan it was a fantastic night and such a blessing.

Pat:  Love that New picture you just look so young.  Love ya sis. <3

Judy:  How is the weather up there I hope that you do not get to much of a thaw re the road. Love ya. <3

Etta Sue:  Thanks for the email.  Hope that you are well and not doing to much. May the Lord bless you. :)

Larry:  How are you and Pat doing hope that you are over doing things.  How is your daughter and son doing I hope that they are feeling better. Have a great day tomorrow :coffee:

To all others I hope that you will continue to lift us both up in prayer and that the Lord will give my wife that extra strength to get through each day.  She still has had no reply with regards to her back.  Praise  God for his goodness.  Love in Christ.  Gord and Noreen. <3

Gord, I have seen a couple of little films on YouTube about that fellow.  He sure does have an amazing attitude, doesn't he?  It's wonderful that he is reaching so many for the Lord.

My day went fine.  We had eight ladies show up for our day of painting at the library.  I made a big pot of stew, plus the hot rolls and cinnamon rolls, and the Black Forest Cake.  All were a big hit!  :)  And Larry, there is still cake left for you, and it's good!  :thumbsup2:

Well, I am really disappointed that they managed to ram through the SPENDULOUS BILL.  What a shame to saddle our grandkids and greatgrandkids with such an enormous amount of debt.  And I have a feeling they are just getting started.  I sure am glad I know the Lord, and am expecting His return any day!

I think I need to go get in my recliner for a while and get my feet up!

This was a wonderful day

- My sweetheart has gone fishing for the weekend but I was able to take my Aunt out for lunch  then purchased a take out dinner to take home. We then went to Wal Mart to do a little shopping before heading home.  She is getting up in years and so likes to get out although I am noticing that she gets tired a lot sooner now.

Judy:  Mel had a good Dr's report but he does have an ongoing issue still related to this.  The Dr. has said that surgery is a last resort.

Etta Sue & Pat:  Again thanks for allowing me to do a copy & paste.

Time for bed        Ruth

Hi everyone.  I am ready for church but it wil be an hour before we leave.  Today is our special Senior's Day.  The choir will be composed of those 55 and over and following the service we have a special Senior's luncheon and entertainment.  It is always a most enjoyable day.  We are going to hear our new minister preach at our church for the first time this morning.  So it is a busy day.

Gord, I am happy to be able to say that Pat told me yesterday her foot was feeling much better from the steroid shot she had on Tuesday.  The doctor had told her it would probably be Saturday before she would feel the full benefits.  She said last evening how nice it was to be able to walk without the pain.  She is now going to see another doctor for the knee problem she has.  Our daughter is suffering a lot from the foot problem that has her in the wheelchair.  Tomorrow she will start working four days a week for four hours each day and hopefully she will be strong enough to hold up under that schedule.  Our daughter in law saw the doctor this last week and he wants to put her in the hospital for a four day test trying to bring on the seizures so they can find the cause.  The last time we spoke with them they were trying to decide whether to do this or not as our DIL hates hospitals.  Our son seems to be doing OK and as of last week still had a job although he knows there is another layoff planned of some 90 employees.  This is a very unsettled time.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

We found a church yesterday and it was a wonderful and peaceful service.  As I have said many times, Don has hearing problems when there is too much background noise including music so this was perfect and we really like the pastor.  There will be special Lenten services so this is a great find for us.  Hmmmm, don't you think that we have been led to that church for some reason?

Gord:  I love Southern Gospel and it is great that you listened to an inspirational speaker (our laptop is now not giving us audio).

Janet:  We will be paying for that bill as well - lets hope that something jives this country.

We went to an interesting art show yesterday and it was expensive, people were buying all of the hand painted quirky animals from a tribe in Mexico.  Great and colorful detail & there were hand-woven rugs as well - way out of our price range.  The library had the movie "Mama Mia" so we had our friends over last night - all the songs are from ABBA.  We liked it for the music.

Hi everyone, I got  back from staying with the grands for the evening around 1:30 am  it took me about ½ hour to get to sleep, I took my medication but forgot to drink the tonic water, fortunately I didn't have any problem with my foot and leg during the night.

I am taking more PSP classes this time from Stepping Stones through PSP and  starting at the beginning like I have never taken classes before. Well it has been a few years since I took any classes so it is refreshing to start over. I am still using PSP 8 and 9, I can't afford to buy any of the newer  versions.

The sun is shining today and the temps have moved up so I will get out to walk the dogs this afternoon, maybe pack a couple more boxes  and I will work on  some more graphics.
