Morning Devotional...
Jesus Warns about Troubles
John 15:17--16:4 NLT
(Jesus said) This is my command: Love each other.
"If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. Do you remember what I told you? 'A slave is not greater than the master.' Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you. They will do all this to you because of me, for they have rejected the One who sent me. They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin. Anyone who hates me also hates my Father. If I hadn't done such miraculous signs among them that no one else could do, they would not be guilty. But as it is, they have seen everything I did, yet they still hate me and my Father. This fulfills what is written in their Scriptures: 'They hated me without cause.'
"But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me. And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry.
"I have told you these things so that you won't abandon your faith. For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God. This is because they have never known the Father or me. Yes, I'm telling you these things now, so that when they happen, you will remember my warning. I didn't tell you earlier because I was going to be with you for a while longer.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FStarblinking.gif&hash=27e115f9cd5672d07457eb7160f143473dc479d4)What have you learned recently about loving others?
Christians will get plenty of hatred from the world; from each other we need love and support.
Do you allow small problems to get in the way of loving other believers?
Jesus commands that you love them, and he will give you the strength to do it.

Happy Birthday, Christian Photographers!!
Let's make this a party atmosphere this week! Let's see...we need entertainment. Who will sing for us? Play the piano? Strum a guitar? Recite some poetry? Preach for us? Pray for us? Give praise for us? Hunh?
And we need food...I'll bring the birthday cake!!(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBirthdayCake.gif&hash=05e5d168839ebd660fa3a4b2ea461fe0e376554e)

What else do we need? Come on! We need suggestions!!!
Yes, Etta Sue, SIX YEARS!!!
Six years ago, on April 9, we opened the Christian Photographers website. Here's a link to our very first topic: http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=2.0
Lots of errors in it now and broken links but I think it's just so nice to be able to look back on history!
:hb2: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :grouphug: Happy Sixth Anniversary!!! :cp: :hb2:
Yes, you are part of our Christian Photographers website and on April 9th, we celebrate SIX YEARS on the web!

We'd certainly like to renew old memories and also make new friends.
So, Happy Anniversary, and see you here this week!

It sure seems like much less than six years! God has indeed used this site in many lives though. Thank Him for that. I wish Mieka would come back and bless us with her presence again!

Poetry?
We have a resident poet!
Hi Colin!
You going to write a poem for us?
:) Good evening to all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHRISTIAN PHOTOGRAPHERS. <3
It is good to be here and it has been a very busy week at our house. :) Thank the Lord for the strength that he gives us. Today we had a woderful service at our church and we had some baptisims and it was so good to here their testimonies they were all so wonderful and so positive. We had old and young people do this today. Our message was from Colossians 3 1-4 and my nephew who is our associate pastor preached and I must say he did an excellent sermon. Praise the Lord.
Well must go to sleep God bless each one and have a wonderful week. Gord. <3
I'm here ...... :cheer: :hb2: :cheer: And I'm ready to PARTEEEEE!
As Al remarked: it sure doesn't seem like it's been six years already. This is a great place and filled with really wonderful friends .... and photographers, but I'm not part of that particular group.
All photographers, preformers, actors, etc. need an audience .... and THAT'S ME!! :D
I can ooohhh and aaahhhh really well, y'know.
HAPPY 6th. BIRTHDAY CP!
Happy Birthday CP, six years ago
Not one of you did I know
But now I cannot say that
For I was invited along here by Pat
You're welcome, says she, with a camera or not
Just come on over and give us a jot
With your wit and charm and skill with a poem
We'll welcome you in and make you feel at home
So I says to myself, I will give it a try
Though they only give you coffee and no Ulster fry
I had only a mobile phone to take a picture or two
No fancy camera but I thought it would do
For Christian Photographers was the title of the site
So to post some pictures would be about right
To leave anyone out here would be a shame
That's why I'll not mention anyone by name
Of friends I made who come here each day
Who get their coffee and have something to say
Those who started here will surely know
The ones to this site who come and go
But the One to meet each day when alls said and done
Is the Saviour of us all and God's only Son
So dear Pat my friend and all of the rest
The years you have spent here are six of the best
Now before I go, just another line from me
God bless you all and HAPPY 6th. BIRTHDAY CP!
Colin Moffett
Well I give it a try but I think Al should write a poem! Etta Sue has the right idea..she is bringing the cakes! You are my kinda girl Etta and come on Jane....oooohing an aaaahing is ok but we want a party piece from you! God bless.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FGarfieldeating.gif&hash=74528d1a9bdfd36d1d4ef4ed9fe47dc4f1a69cf6)
Remember the Indians doing rain dances??? Well, I think you guys are reveling so much that it is SNOWING in Indiana! Yep! Ya heard right. SNOW! And so much rain in the last 24 hours! Dark and gloomy. The snow isn't sticking. Not actually snow..not white flakes...white rain! Does that make sense? More like sleet than snow but it is only 31 degrees and only suppose to get to 35 degrees today.
But party on...I am anxious to what else you can cause here in Indiana!!! :roflBig:
Today Ivalou, Jane, Betty and I are going to Jim Dandy restaurant with a group of old folks from church! We are them also! Then this evening is a council meeting at church. I am not a very good council member...I have missed two meetings since Christmas... :'( Once when it was changed to the second Monday and I have Photo Guild...last month when I was in Florida!
Party on! And thanks Colin for that great poem! We need dancers, too! Where's Marilyn?
Something weird. I couldn't post until I put something in the subject line! So I put 'Subject' and posted!! Thick rain causing cyberspooks????
Thanks for the poem, Colin!
I just knew you'd come through with one. We have a whole week so maybe you'll even think of more during the week!
Yes, it's been six years and yes, we've see folks come and go and then some have come back! And that's wonderful.
But our purpose on this site is to glorify Christ.
Hi everyone and Happy Birthday to Christian Photographers. While I didn't know of this site initially, Pat contacted me and invited me to participate. Like Jane my interests are not photography oriented but I have come to care very much about all the folks who post here.
Yesterday our choir performed our Easter Cantata and, as usual, our director got a good performance from us. The soloists were very good and the choir held up their part. I hope we got a good recording of it.
Pat and I didn't go out to lunch with the group as they were going to a place we really don't care to go. Rather, we came home and changed clothes and went up to our local Mexican place and shared a full order of nachos with half chicken and half beef. They were good.
Today is my normal Monday luncheon with a group of men friends. Today we are going to a buffet so will be able to have a great salad and whatever else strikes my fancy. It is not an expensive place but the food has always been good.
It is windy and chilly here this morning, only 48 degrees, and the paper says we may have some snow during the night and it is only to be 45 degrees here tomorrow. Time to put the electric blanket back on the bed.
Colin, thanks for the special poem for the great occasion we are celebrating.
Pat, thank you for starting and sustaining this website. I certainly appreciate it.
:)Good day to all. Thank you Colin for your great poem and we do miss you being on the site so don't be shy and come more often :)
Pat. Hope all is well and that you and Paul are keeping healthy. Love ya sis. <3
Larry: You always sound like you are busy and that is a good thing. May the bless you and Pat and give you much strength. God bless. :coffee:
To all others have a wonderful day.
Thanks everyone! By the way..Pat did not say...with your wit, charm and skill....but it sounded good to me and using poetic licence...I just put in..so there!
I'll play the piano! :D
Happy birthday to the site, and thank you to everybody who is involved in keeping it running!
Here's a nice renditioln of Psalm 23
Although I have not participated for awhile I still glance at the photo's of everyone. It is interesting how God gives us all a different view on the same subject, yet on the gospel we can also find common views Amen!
Keep up the great work everyone, may God allow us to capture the beauty of his creation, and glorify him in the images that we share with others........
Rev. LarryBoy
Thank you for visiting, Larry. Hope you are taking some photos of birds for our next challenge!
Talk to you soon.

Ok Pat...maybe you can fix this up so all the dial up ones can see it! This is just a selection of the people who belong to this wonderful site and no one is left out intentionally....I tried to get as many pictures as possible!
A poem and now a video and music....think I will take a rest! Any cake left Etta Sue?
Here I am: I was in California for the weekend for forest's 9th birthday party, I got back at 6 last night.
Friday night we had a little excitement here. I was getting ready for bed , the dogs were in there with me and the cat wanted in too. So I opened the door and picked up the cat, he spotted Bebe standing there and with all his claws wide open he took a flying leap out of my hands ripping flesh as he went. It took ½ roll of paper towels and we still didn't get the bleeding stopped, but I did get a good look at my wounds and told Keith I better have stitches.
He got the car half way out of the garage and told me it would probably be a 3 hour wait to be seen, so I decided to just wait and see if I could get the bleeding stopped. We wrapped my two little fingers up in large bandaids put more on the back of my right hand and the sides of both hands and I went to bed.
On Saturday I went a head with my plans to go to California and had Sarah, (My DIL and nurse) take a look and fix me up. She got me all fixed up with the bandages I purchased on the way south. You might make a note of the following:
She told me never never never use peroxide to clean a wound. You know how peroxide makes you skin white well that is the dermis dying. She said you can use alcohol but that burn a lot so to use the Betadine or the Iodine mixture that surgeons use to paint on before and after surgery to clean a wound. She also said that peroxide and cause and feed a staph infection,.
The birthday party was fun, the kids and all the adults except for us 2 grandma's played laser tag. Forest insisted on my riding in the front seat of the truck and that I should sleep in his bedroom. We went out to dinner on Saturday night, man is it ever expensive to take a family out to dinner.
Al we went to the Six Rivers Brewery for dinner, they have pretty good food there.
Hello everyone. This morning we woke to winter wet snow and lots of it, I am so glad that I could just stay in watch.
I just got around to catching up on the past days entries Happy Birthday to CP
Pat: I needed your hymns to help heal my soul. Late Saturday evening I got a very very disturbing phone call and as a result I spent the evening and most of Sunday in tears, perhaps it was meant to happen as I feel that I have been given freedom to make changes as the Lord guides.
We had a late lunch but we both are feeling a little hungry so time to have a look in the frig.
Pat: How is Judy M.
God is forever good. Ruth
For everyone at CP ... :hbirthday: :grouphug:

That's beautiful, Jane. To me, friendship is possibly the most satisfying and delightful relationships amongst humanity. Even the marriage relationship is enhanced when the partners are friends - which is not always the case. Friends bless friends.
Happy 6th anniversary especially to those who established this website and help keep it going!

I forgot to mention how once in a while, a photo takes on a meaning of its own. This picture of the crosses is one of those! I was recently asked to provide a series of pictures with Scripture to be used for an upcoming 2010 calendar. My wife and I were taking a road trip and discussing which pictures to use for the calendar. She asked if I had any pictures that would have an Easter theme and I mentioned that I did not. She suggested a picture of a cross, so we kept our eyes open as we traveled. As it turned out, I saw these crosses in front of a church along the highway in Lake George, CO, on our return trip, so we pulled over. Excitedly, I grabbed our digital camera (Canon A80). I was "in the zone", trying different angles, taking advantage of the beautiful late afternoon sunlight. The camera has a flipout, adjustable viewscreen and the thought occured to me to bend low and take a picture from ground level. I knelt before the crosses to take advantage of this angle, when suddenly, it dawned on me that I was kneeling before the crosses. I had to stop a minute as I considered how I was actually doing what had been mentioned by our pastor the night before at the Saturday evening service - I was actually kneeling before the cross! What an incredible blessing as I considered what it would have been like to kneel before the nail-pierced, pain-racked feet of Jesus on the cross, then looking up into his grimacing, yet forgiving eyes.
I hope this picture brings at least some of the blessing and inspiration to you that it did to me as I took it!
Happy Good Friday and Easter!
(PS: I used a "firelight" filter in my photo editing software to make the reds, oranges and yellows.)
Thank you Jerry!
It's so nice to see your post.
Thanks so much for the lovely reminder of our Savior who died on the Cross for us shedding His precious blood. We'll be thinking especially of this wonderful event this weekend too.
Thanks so much!
Jerry's wonderful message to us reminded me of this hymn:

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name
that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confesss that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11
by Charles. E. Moody
Kneel at the cross,
Christ will meet you there,
Come while he waits for you;
List to his voice,
Leave with him your care
And begin life a new.
Refrain
Kneel at the cross,
Leave every care
Kneel at the cross,
Jesus will meet you there.
Kneel at the cross,
Give your idols up,
Look unto realms above;
Turn not away
To life's sparkling cup;
Trust only in His love.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me,
he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me'.
Matthew 16:24
Words - Mary B.C. Slade, 1826-1882
Music - Asa B. Everett, 1871
Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,
Come, follow Me!
And we see where Thy footprints falling
Lead us to Thee.
Refrain
Footprints of Jesus,
That make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus
Where'er they go.
Though they lead o'er the cold, dark mountains,
Seeking His sheep;
Or along by Siloam's fountains,
Helping the weak.
Refrain
If they lead through the temple holy,
Preaching the Word;
Or in homes of the poor and lowly,
Serving the Lord.
Refrain
Then at last, when on high he sees us
Our journey done,
We will rest where the steps of Jesus
end at his throne.

Another beautiful morning here on the south coast of Oregon
I (finally) managed to get the weedeater out after my yard yesterday. It looks a lot better. The first time to cut the grass and weeds down to ground level this year, actually. :-[ Next will be to tackle the rhodies as they are getting too tall for me to reach with the clippers. I have to keep them trimmed down to a more comfortable level and this Spring weather has them growing and stretching and, almost, getting away from me.
I don't have a whole lot on the agenda for today ... then, again, I never do have an agenda ... Just go with the flow and do what's in front of me to do -- or NOT! :-\
Y'all have a great day in the Lord today and I'll be back later to see what you're all up to.
Thanks for asking, My hands are on the mend, I am being very careful not to do anything that will break them open again , one little finger I just got the bleeding stopped yesterday, it wasn't much but just driving the car made it bleed a little bit.
Pat I use peroxide, in the laundry instead of bleach, I use it to clean the bathroom and on clothing stains. I keep a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water in a spray bottle in the bathroom. To neutralize the effects of peroxide on the skin use distilled white vinegar.

:cheer: :cheer:CONGRATULATIONS CHRISTIAN PHOTOGRAPHERS!!!!! :grouphug: :hb2: :cheer: :cheer:
I'm celebrating with you all, my friends! I haven't been in here chatting for a while. Here's when I joined CP...
Date Registered: December 31, 2006, 07:50:20 PM It's been just over two years for me; and a wonderful two years it's been! If I remember correctly, I did a google search for Christian Photographers and there you were. With so many sites containing inappropriate language and images, I was looking for something wholesome and I found it here. I have had a wonderful experience being a part of CP. I was warmly welcomed, encouraged, prayed for, and befriended. CP is God glorifying...from the images to the conversations and people. I have so enjoyed all of the wonderful images on this site.
I would like to take this opportunity to remember ANDY SORENSEN (http://www.andysorensen.com), our sweet snowflake photographing (among other things) friend from Alaska, who is now with the Father in heaven. Go to his website to be blessed by his photography. It's still up and running and you can still order his work which benefits his family members. He is surely missed and was a special part of CP.
I also want to thank you all for your prayers over the past two years. Some of you know of my many challenges and have been faithful to lift me up to the Father, and I am so thankful for that. Thanks to Pat for starting CP and for all that help keep it going through prayers, moderation, postings, donations, etc...Here's to another 6!
Well, I guess that's all for my part of the celebration! If I think of something else, I'll chime back in.
<3
Kathleen, how lovely of you to mention Andy. I look at his webpage so often and think of his wonderful work.
Last fall, while in Falls Church, VA, I had some nice conversations with his wife and when shhe was going to fly back to Alaska from Kane, we nearly got to meet each other but alas, it didn't work out.
We've kept his gallery on the Photography Cafe and his memorial is still on there as well.
Thanks so much!
Happy Birthday, CP!! I am always amazed at how quickly time flies by. I don't post here often, but come by to read what others are saying. And when the Lord is lifted, as He surely is here, I am always blessed along with the one who does the lifting. :)
Jane, the weed eater is busy over in my neck of the woods too. :)
No weedeaters here.
6 1/2 inches of snow on my deck today!
Hi everyone. I looked a the videos and was very impressed. This is certainly making the celebration very special.
Not much to write about today. I had meeting to attend this morning and when we came outside it was spitting snow but I now see blue sky and it certainly didn't stick to the ground. It is suppose to be 31 degrees here tonight and my friend, who is a big gardener, told me this morning that he was worried about the 161 tomato plants her has in the ground. He has them covered but they are pretty large and the covering may be a problem. He is always anxious to get his garden in the ground.
Marilyn, sorry to hear of the cat attack. I wonder why the cat attacked you and not your dog? Glad you are healing and were able to spend the night at your son's home and celebrate your grandson's birthday.
Got this in my email a few weeks ago. I use peroxide as a mouthwash two or three times a day!
Anyway, interesting to read this. Lots on this list I've done since I was a child.
PEROXIDE
This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana (a doctor's Wife), and I want to share it with you. She was over recently for Coffee and smelled the bleach I was using to clean my toilet and Counter Tops. This is what she told me:
"I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little ole bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at Any Drug store. What does bleach cost? My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide.
"Have you ever smelled bleach in a doctor's office? NO!!! Why? Because it smells, and it is not healthy! Ask the nurses who work in the doctor's offices, and ask them if they use
Bleach at home. They are wiser and know better!
"Did you also know bleach was invented in the late 40's? It's chlorine, folks! And it was used to kill our troops.
"Peroxide was invented during WWI. It was used to save and help cleanse the needs of our troops and hospitals. Please think about this:
1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) And hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash...
2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of Germs.
3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.
4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.
5. I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.
6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide.
7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without t harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.
8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue.
9 If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.
10. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.
11. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
12. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this.
"I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without!
"With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner!"
This information really woke me up. I hope you gain something from it, too.
That's interesting, Pat ... I "grew up" with peroxide, but some of these things I never knew ...
The last time I donated blood, the bandage over the site leaked and there was blood pouring down my arm and all over my WHITE vest!! The nurse there immediately reached for the bottle of peroxide and began sponging my vest. Presto ..... blood stains practically disappeared! Another Red Cross worker suggested I use a pre-wash spray to get the rest of the blood stains out, and it worked perfectly. I was thinking (and saying) I needed to soak it in cold water, but their solution was much better -- and quicker. ;)
At the dialysis unit, every station had a huge bottle of peroxide for blood spills and we had blood spills every treatment. I used it to get the blood out of Jack's clothes and his pad he sat on for the treatment. Fantastic!

I wasn't going to go anywhere today....so windy and sooo cold but Ivalou called and said she was going to her son's house. His wife babysits for her grandchildren...Ivalou's greats...and I haven't seen the youngest. Cailin was born Dec 17 so I got to see her. Cute little Irish red head!! She was laughing up a storm and, of course, I got to hold her and love her to pieces!!
Then Parker, Ivalou's grandson, Ivalou and I ate Chinese and then went grocery shopping. Parker is going to help Ivalou in the yard for a few days now that it is Spring Break here. But they won't get any yard work done today!!!! It is only 40 degrees but sooooo windy! Cuts right through you! ~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@

I guess I'd better get peroxide. I sure didn't know you could use it for so many things.
Pat....you have my deepest sympathies for your snow! I would send you some of our sunshine, but today was sparse. 8)
Thanks Nita.
I do that putting in the peroxide while I shower now as well. I used to just rinse my mouth with it when I cleaned my teeth but now I have it in my mouth the whole time I shower and it's wonderful.
:) Good evening to all. We also woke up to an other snow fall here in the Niagara region and it was very wet snow and heavy but thank the Lord it melted very fast.
It was so good to see the you tube and the other emails that had some movies on them .
My wife Noreen has not been well again for the last three days and I had o take her to the walk in clinic today, it is so hard for her as she wants so much to be able to enjoy her retirement years but between her back and other things she cannot go out very much. So I value your prayers and also thank you for them.
Pat: Thanks for the songs they are great and some of them bring back memories. Love ya is.
Judy B. Where are you have not seen or heard from you lately. Talk to you soon. Sis.
To all others Gods Blessings. Gord. :hb2: :cp:

Good morning! I am up earlier than normal this morning. I guess I got done sleeping, woke up and got up!
It is nippy outside. I took some letters to the mailbox and it was a little cool. Only 39°. But bright and sunny. And a little wind. Not like yesterday when the wind was fierce. The water that fell Sunday afternoon and night is drying up! Still to mushy to mow the grass though... ::)
I do need to gather some trash from the garage for tomorrow though. Maybe this afternoon!
I just called Gaither's Resource Center (http://www.gaitherfamilyresources.net/)
in Alexandria, IN, for reservations for tomorrow. My 60 Chix are going there for lunch. They not only have a small cafe, but gift ideas and of course, all types of Gaither music. One of the gals was there a couple of weeks ago and Gloria and Bill came in and chatted with them and had their pictures taken with them. Maybe they will be there tomorrow, too! Their music keeps on going on!
Not much planned today. Big day tomorrow. 60 chix and then Beef and Boards tomorrow night to see 'Treasure Island'.>^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^<

Good Morning, Happy had a bad allergic reaction to something over the weekend end and had chewed all the fur off one of his hind legs near his hip.
I took him to the Vet yesterday and they had to shave his hind end and under him too they gave him a sedative so they could work on him plus an allergy shot and other meds to bring home. Charged me $45 for the emergency service and my bank accounts are $339.00 lighter. My poor dog was so miserable itching and chewing, before I could get him to a vet. Last night after the sedative wore off he was moaning and yipping, I got up twice and took him out to potty and he drank so much water I thought he would burst.
He kept up the yipping and moaning,He was OK while I was petting and talking to him, as soon as I stopped he started yipping again, until I finally gave him a doggie tranquilizer and took him down to the big bedroom and stayed there with him all night. He is still there, but he did have his breakfast and his antibiotic pill.
Oh I almost forgot to tell you what caused the allergic reaction. It was the are you ready for this. Cat food. He got into the cats food. The Vet said both the wet and the dry cat food will cause a terrible allergic reaction in most dogs.
:hb2:HAPPY BIRTHDAY CP :hb2:
I just checked my profile and found I joined April 9, 2003. I can hardly believe it has been that long!
So much has happened in those years!
It is bitterly cold here. I am having a hard time getting the fire going. Pat I would welcome electric heat today!
Gord Good to "see" you Have a cup of tea for me!
I have been having a rough time sleeping. In the wee hours of the morning I have been praying for this our CP family. May God bless you all.
Me too Judy. April 9, 2003 the day this site moved over from the old site.
Here is a song by Chris Tomlin. It applies here Where the words say "in this city" put in "on this website" .
"God Of This City - Chris Tomlin"
by Passion Worship Band | from the album Passon: God of This City
Verse 1.
You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation
You Are
You're the light in this darkness
You're the hope to the hopeless
You're the peace to the restless
You are
Bridge:
For there is no one like our God
There is no one like You God
Chorus 1:
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done here
Verse 2:
You're the Lord of Creation
The Creator of all things
You're the King above all kings
You Are
You're the strength in our weakness
You're the love to the broken
You're the joy in the sadness
You Are
Bridge:
Chorus 2:
For greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done
In this city
When glory shines from hearts alive
With praise for You and love for You
In this city
Greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done here
Yes, we had fantastic hosts in Karma and Bernard on their website for a little while until I opened this site with the help of Oldiesmann and that was the beginning for us. That's 6 years tomorrow! It was so nice of Bernard and Karma to be such great hosts and give us a home for awhile.
Judy, it would be great if you had a little electric heater like I have. I haven't had my baseboard heaters on all wiinter.
Sorry about the dog, Marilyn. I've heard that dogs shouldn't eat cat food but not that it would do that to them. And I must say that Geordie has "stolen" Lauren's food many times without my knowing. Bad boy!
Hi everyone. It is a beautiful day here in Georgia after a chilly morning. No wind today and the temperature has climbed into the 60s.
I went to Bible Study with the pastor this morning. Since Pat didn't go with me I came on home rather than go to the donut shop.
This afternoon had an appointment with a new dentist. I had my teeth fully x-rayed, cleaned and had a very thorough exam. The results are not pleasing to my pocket-book but the work needs to be done. I am scheduled for three fillings next Tuesday afternoon (2 of the three involve two different surfaces). Then I have a tooth that needs a crown. Finally I have a tooth that I will have pulled as it has been filled a number of times and is not strong enough to support a crown and another filling would be a waste of money. That will require a trip to an oral surgeon. My bill for the dentist I saw today will be over $2,000 plus the cost of the extraction.
Tonight is choir practice.
I checked my profile and see I also signed on to CP on April 09, 2003.
Cleaning and almost all packed - to the brim. We will get going early in the morning and stay overnight in Santa Fe if everything goes well. Weather looks alright. Home by Friday. We could do this in one very long day but it just gets dangerous out there late at night. I enjoy walking in the downtown center of Santa Fe and so does everyone who visits that small city. We are putting away our summer clothes as the high will be in the 50's - yesterday, it was almost 90* here.
Now to mop the kitchen floor.
Hello to Karma and Bernard if you stop in for a visit - we hope.
Well, I guess I didn't join CP - I was already there! According to my profile, it was

. I am old. Therefore, I remember "the old days!" May our God continue to bless this site for many years to come.
Same here, Al ... We just transferred from one place to another -- a couple times. ;)
Wow. 6 years. Travis was only a year old (he's now 7) and Kristi wasn't even a twinkle in my eye, yet (she just turned 4). Bernard has had open heart surgery in that time, as well as a recent elbow surgery (he fell off of a skateboard on March 13 and broke both of the bones in his arm at the elbow).
Life is good.
Christ is better. :)
Hi everyone. It is another gorgeous day here in Georgia with an expected high of 74 degrees. I just got back from coffee and walking a mile at the gym. Now I have the rest of the day free. I do expect a call from our organist at church who needs some help getting some software installed on her new computer for virus checking. Pat has been invited to a luncheon so I will have some quiet time here in the middle of the day, not to imply tha it is noisy when she is here, but it is different when another person is around.
Karmat, nice to see you posting. I saw something a couple of weeks ago that indicated Bernard had gone through some elbow surgery but didn't know the extent of the problem or reason. Hope he is better by now.
Carol, I expect you are either on the road or about ready to get started. I hope you have a very nice trip back home. It is fun to go but so nice to be back in your own home.
HAHAHA! Al, many "joined" that day as we were moving from Karma and Bernard's site to this brand spanking new place!!! :-*

I was just thinking of Janet and her missing this huge party!! :'(
Today is 60 Chix and we are going to Gaither's. This class of mine. Yesterday when I called them, there were 11 going. This morning...only 8! Grrrr! Does everyone have that experience. People say they will and then they don't?
Then this evening is Beef and Boards and we are to see 'Treasure Island'. I don't even know the story of it. Probably did at one time or another but the ol' memory isn't as good as it used to be!
Best get on the move and get dressed. Have to leave in a half hour! (^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(

Karma, I'm sorry that I missed seeing your post above. I think I was searching for the little list of those that joined us the first day here on our permanent site.
I'm so sorry that Nard has had a problem with his elbow. My goodness, this is awful. Please give him a big hug for me.
Thanks for visiting us this week and yes, "Christ is better!"
It would be nice to see some new photos of your little ones.
My goodness! I was in on the ground floor, huh? How time flies. It doesn't seem like six years and yet in another way it seems much longer ago. Sorry I haven't been around much, but who knows... that may change. (No promises, though) <3
Good Morning, my hands are healing nicely only the wounds on my little fingers require caring for . Happy seems to be doing better today and is quick to scoot under the bed when he sees me with the E-collar or the bottle of medicine I am to spray in him. I had him trapped under the dining room table and he wouldn't let me get the leash on him.
Yes I do want to thanks Karma and Bernard for allowing us to use their site until this one was set up. Pat have you heard from Trish or her mother, tenderheart and mercychhild. It would be so nice to see them here again.
Hi Marilyn...
I hear from Jen (mercychild) quite a bit but not her mother.
I didn't realize Ruth and I were on the ground floor so to speak. My how time has flown.
Each of us have had our trials and tribulations and it has been good to share these with this family and know you are being prayed for. We have quite the prayer team here!
Then there are the blessing each of us have experienced. Blessing of friendship which crosses all boundries, those on the other side of the pond have become good friends, united in our Lord..
There are those who have passed on, Jerry, I think of him often and those youngsters who have joined our ranks. With the young coming on board we have the opportunity to guide and nurture them, Meika.
We thank God for these oppotunities and pray that we are up to the challenge.
Praise The Almighty God for His Son Jesus, who shows us grace mercy and peace.
May CP have many more years of fellowship and photography.

BLEST BE THE TIE (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/blessTie.mpga)
(Click to hear music)
Author: John Fawcett, 1740-1817
Musician: Hans G. Nageli, 1773-1836
Arr. By Lowell Mason, 1792-1872
And the multitude of them that believed
were of one heart and of one soul:
neither said any of them that ought of the things
which he possessed was his own;
but they had all things common.
Acts 4:32
Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like that to that above.
Before our Father's throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares.
We share each other's woes,
Our mutual burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.
When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.
This glorious hope revives
Our courage by the way;
While each in expectation lives,
And longs to see the day.
From sorrow, toil and pain,
And sin, we shall be free,
And perfect love and friendship reign
Through all eternity.

Pat, that's the perfect hymn to follow Judy's post. I love its message. Yes -- we are bound together in Christian love. ;) <3
I also wish to thank you for "hanging in there" to keep this site up and running for, now, six years!
Of course, there have been growing pains as in any family, but through it all ........ Karma said it: "Life is good but Christ is better!" I agree. ;)
Amen!
Praise the Savior, ye who know Him;
Who can tell how much we owe Him.
Gladly let us render to Him
All we are and have!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
SARGE!
It's great to have you on
:cp:
My how time flies I did not realize that I was also one of the first ones to join. Many have stayed and others have gone. Judy about the trials by times it does seem forever and yes I was slapped with another just this past Saturday about this trial if I cannot say anything good I choose to say nothing at all.
Larry: It seems that when you go to a new dentist at least it happens to me they have to find ways to get the $$$$$$$ needed or not. I am not really sure how necessary it all is.
I went out and did some grocery shopping and one item I was looking for was a pickled cottage roll, I have not had one in quite some time problem was I went to several stores and finally got one at the 4th grocery store.
We had the beautiful sun all day. See ya all again. Ruth
Okay, Ruth ..... What's a pickled cottage roll? ???
Jane, it's pork.

Amazing .... Thanks, Pat. I'd never heard of it before.
Don't feel bad, Jane. I never heard of it either. Glad I came back today - I've learned something new!
Beautiful sunshine today. The buds are just starting to slowly swell on the trees - it will be a while before we have any flowers or leaves, though.
I have to give praise to the Lord for solving a big problem I had, through my church. I see time and time again just why He brought me back to my home town and why He led me to this church. He is GOOD and always in control! <3
Good Morning!
It's a beautiful day here in Guelph. The sun is shining and it's not windy and it's just a lovely day to go for a walk maybe with Geordie.
Paul slept last night (which I'm pleased about) and decided to leave this morning to drive up here. Then he saw some hostas that he hadn't planted so got them done and so pulled out of the driveway at about 10 to 10 Eastern time so he's now on the road north.
Glad I could help you with the Cottage Roll, Jane and Jeanne. Not sure how Ruth cooks hers but most, I think would cook it in the Slow Cooker with some veggies, etc. Mmmmm, nice.
See that funny looking sleeping bird over in the left sidebar where it says, "Enter today! Mini Challenge #31~BIRDS"??
Well, that bird was taken by Sarge who is one of our members and I believe he lives in Australia and he turned just 15 yesterday and I missed his birthday till late in here. So, let's have a belated birthday party for our young member. He's a great photographer too! He won the last challenge and so got to choose the topic for this one and he chose "Birds".

Could this be the Easter duck peeking in on us today?
Happy Good Friday. That's a lie. Really there is nothing happy or good about this Friday. It is a very sad day indeed to remember how Jesus suffered for mankind and especially for you and me. I am a sinner. To think that Christ was crucified on the cross for MY sins. Sad...very sad.
I was planning on mowing today but it rained last night and I see puddles in the yard. No mowing today. Maybe tomorrow.
Tonight my church is showing 'The Passion of the Christ'. I have seen it twice in the theaters when it first came out. After the showing we are to have communion. I know it will be a touching evening. @_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

Just came on and got the call "Daddy's home and the sound of air brakes!" so I will be gone soon.
HAPPY 6th ANNIVERSARY - Christian Photographers
You are all truly doing Gods work. This site has been an inspiration and blessing to all. I can testify to your wonderful outreach and spreading of Gods love. I have come though a rough patch lately so I haven't been on site.
May God bless this site and you all with many more years of love and success with your work.
love,
Bob Traber <3
Bob, it's soooooo good to see your post.
Paul and I prayed for you last night during our devotional time. We prayed that the Lord would especially draw close to both you and Lois.
Thank you for sharing.

I was thinking those very same thoughts as I lay in bed last night praying.
Happy Belated Birthday Sarge :hb3: :woohoo:
Pat: Thanks for the Cottage Roll explanation. The roll being cured and stored in salt( its brine) I usually boil it in a large pan with the plastic over removed, then serve hot or cold a lovely treat, for those with needs watch the salt content. Yum it is good served with mustard. I will have it hot with mashed potatoes and cabbage.
A lovely sunny day and not to cold. I have been doing the finishing touches to a sweater that I have been knitting for a friend. Yesterday I did a loaf of whole wheat bread in the machine and it went out over the top the only reason for this I think is that perhaps I used too much glutin or had my ingred. to warm to start regardless it is yummy. Something I have not done in years is make Hot Cross Buns so that will be my project for tomorrow.
Ruth
Ruth is the Cottage roll kind of like our Corned beef only pork.
Good Friday: I am sorry that we did not attend the service tonight. It is not always a favorite service for Don and we truly just arrived home a few hours ago and there were little things to be done besides unpacking. A leak in kitchen faucet but it wasn't bad until I ran the water. Problems with the phone and computer. All is well & almost all is fixed.
Supper was mainly leftovers from dinner out in Santa Fe last night & saved in our cooler.
Looking forward to Easter morning and then a meal at daughter's house in the afternoon.
Larry: Hi - all is well here. We had the tires rotated before leaving Tucson and they were supposed to check the pressure & fill. Well, they did not and we had to put in about 5 lbs into each tire - so annoying and it could be dangerous with a load like we were carrying in the van. Other than that - it was a nice trip and beautiful scenery. Lots of antelope, new calves on the ranches and even snow on the roadside. Perfect weather although windy.
Happy Easter to all!
Hi everyone. This was a really busy day. Had coffee and walked this morning, took the car to have the battery check, attended a volunteer meeting, stopped for medicine at Kaiser and then went to Atlanta to pick up Stacey for the weekend and before coming to the house took her to see the chiropractor. Since she is basically wheelchair bound it isn't a simple matter to take her anywhere, but we made it with the transfer chair and this time she brought her crutches and that seems to be working here in the house.
Last evening Pat and I attended a Maunday Service at a big Methodist church in the nearby town. A friend of ours invited us. They had a string orchestra, a 60 voice choir and the church has a pipe organ. It was a very impressive service and our friend sang a short solo part in one of the numbers. After the musical program we had communion and then there was a stripping of the alter ceremony, which I had never seen before. They took the elements off one set at a time, the candles, the communion cloth and finally the Bible, which was carried to the center of the platform open and then suddenly shut with a bang as the lights were brought down. We then departed in silence. It was a wonderful service.
This evening we have had a lot of severe weather in the area, including some hail and heavy rain here. However, we missed the worst of the weather. It is suppose to be over soon. The weathermen were on the local channels constantly with update and watching the storms. We didn't lose power this evening.
Carol, glad to see that you and Don made it home safely.
Pat, will be good to see you post that Paul has arrived safely. That is a long trip.
It is late so will sign off for tonight.
`Paul did make it. He arrived at the door at 7:25 pm. tired and happy to have arrived. So, he made good time. I made a nice supper and now we've just finished some dessert and checking our email, etc.
Pat, it's great that Paul made the trip safely. How long will he be in Guelph? And when do you head back to Virginia?
Don't know the answers to those questions yet!
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBoyandCatsCircus.gif&hash=9a90470646df1eb05dd09f48b2b60c4f774ae92a)
There were several people at church last evening to watch 'The Passion of the Christ'. I am sure there were many tears shed watching the movie and seeing how Christ suffered for us. Pastor Steve gave a short talk and prayer and we all left to go to our homes.
Today I was planning on mowing but there is still too much water in the grass so no mowing today. And other than tomorrow, it is to rain until Wednesday and Thursday. And Friday, I have surgery!
I am going to Kitty's this afternoon to learn how to care for her cats...her and Bob are leaving for a few days. She bought a WII and the exercise program so I am going to see if I think it would be worth the money for myself!
My husband would be 79 today if he were still living. ^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

We're going out for supper tonight.
We're going to have "Chinese" in Kitchener with friends so I'm looking forward to that.
ARE YOU READY?
For the Second Coming of Christ?
Here's a very interesting video by Franklin Graham that I hope you will all listen to.
That's wonderful, Pat. Thanks for posting it.
Hi everyone.
Pat, that was a wonderful link. Glad to read that Paul made it to Guelph and it wasn't too late.
Etta Sue, I have never seen the WII in operation although know a couple of people who have the device.
We are having a quiet day today and enjoying the time we have with our daughter. It is difficult for her to get around our house due to the carpeting. Fortunately she is now healed up enough from the two heart surgeries to be able to use her crutches and she brought them with her this weekend. The wheelchair we have is hard for her to push on the carpeting. She brought out several loads of laundry, which has now been washed and ready to put back into the car.
We are planning on having a pizza for supper tonight. Pat has a big meal planned for dinner tomorrow after church. We have had a ham in the refrigerator for several days. I will be taking her back to her apartment later on Sunday afternoon. She seems to be feeling better. Guess the chiropractic treatment helped.
Pat: Thank you for the site. It should give some pause to think.
Windy here & quite chilly. I made a double lemon dessert in a 9 X 12 pan and have fixings ready for a coleslaw salad with crisp noodles and sliced almonds toasted. We are going to our daughter's home.
Very windy here and we will not go to the outdoor service tomorrow if this continues - it is really raw & cold outside.
Carol - You're so used to Tuscon now that it's going to seem much colder. Can you be a Coloradan again? It might take a little time.
Larry - glad Stacey is feeling a bit better. Chiropractic can be a tremendous help at times. I just had a treatment, and it did wonders for my lower back. Thanks be to God for His mercy to provide for our needs.
Pat - I don't know about you having Chinese - what would Mieka think of it?
Al, you reminded me how Mieka wondered why anyone would "eat Chinese". Haven't thought of her in ages. Has she been around here?
Marilyn: No the sweet pickled cottage roll is not like corned beef really a different flavor because of the pickled sweetness. Another thing after I have cooked it I through the liquid away because of the salt.
Larry: Say hello to your daughter for me.
A lot of the storms in the U.S. not good. other than that it has been a quiet day and if I am scarse tomorrow it is because we have been invited out for dinner. I like that.

5:30am came early but I am all dressed and ready for Sunrise Service at church. After that the elders and deacons are preparing breakfast for everyone!
Then it is home, change clothes and go back for Sunday Service and Sunday school.
Then it is home, change clothes and go to our niece, Robin's home for dinner. Our g-nephew graduated from Marine basic yesterday at San Diego so both sides of his family are having a pitch-in at Robin's to welcome him back home. I think he goes to Camp David next.
Then it is home, change clothes and be comfy the rest of the day!
I did mow yesterday. When I came home for Kitty's Ivalou was mowing. So I have to keep up with the Joneses!!
I didn't care for the WII...at least not to the tune of $400. I didn't care for the standing that we did. Standing hurts my back. Walking is fine. Sitting. Laying but standing...ouch! I like the concept of it. Maybe later.
I pray everyone has a blessed Easter Sunday!
Happy Easter everyone. I am ready for church but it was will another 90 minutes before it is time to go. Stacey is going to be going with us this morning, the ham is in the oven to cook and Pat has the other items under control. She baked a turkey a few days ago and froze it but thawed out some for us to have today. She made a cherry pie last evening. So we won't go hungry today.
After dinner I will take take Stacey back to Atlanta to her apartment. Fortunately they have a number of grocery cart baskets available and I can load up the things from the car and with no stairs to contend with anymore it makes getting her things unloaded much easier. I usually go up and get her powerchair while she waits in the car and then can deal with unloading the car.
It is a beautiful and sunny day here in Georgia and will get up to about 70 degrees this afternoon.
Etta Sue, you have a busy schedule this morning but I know you will benefit from each of the activities you have planned.
Jeanne, it has been a long time since we have seen a posting from Meika.
Al, I agree that the chiropractor has been a source of the relief of a lot of pain for both Stacey and Pat. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to last very long.
Carol, your double lemon dessert sounds delicious. I always like the taste of lemon. We recently had some lemon filled Girl Scout cookies from the purchases this year. They were quite good.
Isn't that the most wonderful news we can hear?
Good morning everyone and my wishes to all of you for a Blessed Easter. Sunny but cold here in northeastern New York. It went down to about 15 overnight and it doesn't look like it will get much above freezing all day.

On Seniors & Friends, Rae made the most meaningful graphic for today and I just want to share it with you.

And all of Christian Photographers can say, "He is risen indeed!"
Why Did Jesus Fold the Napkin
Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after
His
resurrection? I never noticed this....
The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the
napkin, which
was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown
aside
like the grave clothes.
The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that
the napkin
was neatly folded, and was placed at the head of that
stony
coffin.
Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark,
Mary
Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had
been rolled
away from the entrance.
She ran and found Simon Peter and the other
disciple, the
one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the
Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know
where they have put him!'
Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to
see.. The
other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He
stooped and
looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he
didn't go in.
Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also
noticed
the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that
had
covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the
side.
Is that important? Absolutely!
Is it really significant? Yes!
In order to understand the significance of the
folded
napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew
tradition
of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the
Master and Servant,
and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the
servant set the
dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was
exactly the way
the master wanted it.
The table was furnished perfectly, and then the
servant
would wait, just out of sight, until the master had
finished
eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table,
until the master
was finished.
Now if the master were done eating, he would rise
from the
table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard,
and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table.
The servant would then know to clear the table.
For in
those days, the wadded napkin meant, 'I'm
done'.
But if the master got up from the table, and
folded his
napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would
not dare
touch the table, because..... .....
The folded napkin meant, 'I'm coming
back!'
He is Coming Back!
Happy Easter Everyone
Don
Don, thank you very much for that explanation. I had never even taken notice of the fact that only the napkin was folded.
