Morning Devotional...

If Jesus Came To Your House

Would you have to change your clothes
Before you let Him in?
Or hide away some worldly magazines,
And put the Bibles where they'd been?

Would you hide your worldly music,
And put some hymn books out?
Could you let Jesus walk right in,
Or would you rush about?

And I wonder:  If the Savior
Spent a day or two with you,
Would you go right on doing,
The things you always do?

Would you go right on saying,
The things you always say?
Would life for you continue
As it does from day to day?

Would you take Jesus with you,
Everywhere you go?
Or would you maybe change your plans,
For just a day or so?

Would you be glad to have Him
Meet your closest friends?
Or would you hope they'd stay away
Until His visit ends?

Would you be glad to have Him
Stay forever on and on?
Or would you sigh with relief
When He at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know
The things that you would do,
If Jesus came in person
To spend some time with you.
Source unknown

In my Father's house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:2-3

Today is my yearly check up with my urologist and a cystoscopy to see if I have any cancer in my bladder.

I called my heat pump man this morning.  Left a message telling them that my furnace was set at 67...the heat pump at 70.  When I got up this morning, the temp was 67 and the registers for the furnace were hot.  So the heat pump isn't heating.  When you stand in front of the air that comes out, it chills you.  Back to square one.

I would love to meet Todd Burpo and Colton!  I took my book to church yesterday and gave it to the minister's wife.  I made a bookmark that says to read the book and then return it to a CCC church member to read.  Pass it along!

Everyone is getting tired of the cold weather in Indiana.  This is the coldest it has been for years.  I also called the bottle gas people to let them know that I am using more gas this year than last year and to not let me run out!  $$$.

Off I go!!!  JudyB...you will be fine.  Just take it easy and don't rush doing things after surgery!

Prayers for you, Judy, for the quickest recovery on record.  Also for supernatural wisdom for the doctors, nurses and anyone else attending you during this time.

Carol, I just ordered a book on the Daniel Fast.  It is by Susan Gregory, titled The Daniel Fast.  I also ordered a Daniel Fast cookbook, both from Amazon.  Susan Gregory was on with Paula White this morning.  I have decided to continue on the complete fast for another week, as I am feeling fine, and having some breakthroughs in my spiritual life.  God is SO GOOD!!

Darrel is having some stomach problems, so is thinking about going on the Daniel fast too, as it has many health benefits, and detoxes the body.  I'm sure he needs that, as he eats so many things that are not good for him.  If we start it together, it will be easier for both of us.

I had a surprise blessing yesterday!  There is a Hillbilly Band from Moscow (yes, Kansas  ;)) that has come to the care home before to sing.  Anyway, they called and asked me to sing with them yesterday when they came again.  I was so happy to do that, and it was fun.  They sing the old-time Christian songs.  I wore my regular clothes, as I don't have a hillbilly getup.  :)

I want to go find the lady who has tickets for Shiela Walsh, as I want to buy one for a friend.

Hi everyone.  It is an overcast day here and currently 39 degrees with rain in the forecast.  We still have some patches of icy snow in our yard and there are streets that still have some ice, although ours are clear.

We enjoyed the weekend away as Pat went with me.  However, I think this is the last time I will attend this meeting as it just exhausted me.  Fortunately, my heart didn't act up but it sapped my energy.  I hate having to resign my responsibilities but have to recognize facts.

I have my Monday men's luncheon today and am looking forward to it as we missed last week.  After coffee this morning I made a trip to Walmart for several items we needed.  However, used the electric cart to get around the big store and that really helped as wasn't tired when I got through with the shopping.  I came home and tried to open a little package containing some earbuds for my iPod and it was almost impossible to get into the packaging.  Does anyone else feel the frustration of opening things in this tough plastic?

Janet, glad to see you fast is going well.  It also sounds like your church is thriving again and hope your new pastoral candidate is the one God wants for your church.  It was a nice compliment to be invited to sing with the Hillbilly band although I don't really see you as a hillbilly, whatever that is.  :)

Etta Sue, know your heat pump situation must be very frustrating for you and hope this time they get it fixed.  Glad you resolved your telephone bill although the outcome wasn't what you wanted.  That is one reason we use prepaid cell phones and don't give out the number to many people as it avoids ever going over your paid minutes.  If I ever go to strictly cellphones for home use also I will probably do a plan without limit or at least a pretty large number of minutes.  My wife likes to talk to her sister a lot on the phone and they are seldom short conversations.

Judy, know by the time you read this your surgery should be over.  Hope you are in reasonable comfort and on the road to recovery.

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  I have seen that poem before but it is still thought provoking.

Hi Bonnie.  Good to see you posting.

Maryilyn, glad you were able to attend your women's conference and to renew your acquaintance with the minister who conducted it.

Thanks to the invitation message to join you in here.... I am here.  Don't think I've been here before but do recognize names & faces, some I haven't seen for a long time.  I've been "out of the loop" but do believe this message was a blessing for me at this time. Have a difficult week ahead.

I'm waiting for the phone call that my youngest brother is on his way to Heaven.  He was given days to weeks about a year ago and has been with Hospice, stronger than anyone could believe, until recently.  I've been to see him 3 or 4 times since his diagnosis so am not going down, my other brother & sister are near and say he knew them Sat., smiled but doesn't talk.

They have snow on the ground in MO as we do here in KS, so the drive will be risky (to say the least).... but I will go if at all possible, to say a final good by, we had a good visit not long ago.  My husband has congestive heart failure so won't go with me but he is able to take care of himself for over night.

Our daughter is flying into town this next week end, my birthday yesterday & hers in the 25th so we celebrate together.  She has a 6 month old grand baby (and oldest son) living here, as well as her youngest daughter going to college here... so any excuse to get to town is a treat for her.  She is on a plane several times a week and this time is just a detour through on her way to someplace else.

Hugs to y'all and prayers for those in need.... but we all need prayers, don't we?  God Bless Us All......  I will be back to see if there is a way to catch up on what has been going on in your lives since I saw you last.

Shirley/Tisie It is so good to see you posting here, it has been a long time since you were last here although I have seen you participating in some of the Photo Challenges. I will pray for your brother and your family.

Well what do you know I see our the window here that the sun has come out and it looks beautiful after all the rain over the weekend. I will definitely get out there and take the dogs for their walks. happy doesn't  walk as far as he used to and Bebe needs to walk ore she is overweight just like me.

I sure am enjoying  cooking on my new cooktop,So much better than the old one that  had a mind of it's own on what the temperature should be for whatever I was trying to cook. LOL

Larry I had a wonderful time at the conference. I need to do that more often.their next meeting is in Crescent City which is about 130 miles from here, I won't be  going to that one, however they are trying to get  a place close to here for  May.

Keith only worked a half day today. He decided to take the rest of the off, business is kind of slow  right now.

We woke to a very cold morning many veh's did not start - dead batteries.

Pat: Thanks for the devotion and above all else I would love for Jesus to coming knocking on my door and stay for a very long time.   I would start reading my Bible more but I would have Jesus with me to share and teach. This will all come to pass when I meet him in Glory.

A second cousin living in New Liskeard suddenly decided it was his time to go home to be with the Lord.

Today I went to the chiropractor and following that I picked up my aunt and grocery shopping we did go.
We tried out an old restaurant now relocated to something that is bigger and better - higher class, we will not be going there again, the food was served fancier but the prices were also increased by a large amount as well.

I'm sitting here in the living room with my laptop on my knee trying to get caught up on several topics.  Judy is in the reclining lounge chair and is sleeping peacefully.  I'll stay here for awhile until I'm sure she's ok and then I'll go to bed.  I'm in no hurry.

I've opened up two new topics that I'm sure you'll all enjoy!

One was a surprise for Judy about her little dog, Cimmy.  I hope that you'll all go and see it and leave comments HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=11393.0)

The other topic that I opened is in the People Board and it will be a topic that we can add to over time.  I've added my first photo to it and I'll know that you'll be interested in seeing it.

The topic is called, Meeting Friends~Old and New (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=11394.0)

I hope that you'll all have a look in this new topic and click on the "Notify" button so you'll know if folks have posted new photos in there.

Ruth I'm so sorry to read of the passing of your relative up in New Liskeard.

Marilyn, I'll be praying for Willa.  Thanks for the update.

It was very cold today, Ruth.  And I was so surprised to see across the road from me, about 4 roofers up on top of a two storey house putting on a new roof!!!  They had all the old shingles off and were busy putting the new on in this cold!  It was freezing up there!

Hi everyone.  Only a few minutes to write this morning.  We stayed above freezing last night and it is 37 degrees this morning but suppose to be a bit rainy all day.

I have a meeting to attend this morning  A lady that works on the Golden Games  will stop by this afternoon with the first document related to the games, and she will bring me the supplies I need to do the work for them, i.e., card stock and ink for my printers.  They very kindly bought me a laser printer a couple of years ago as we do a lot of printing at game time.

Glad to read that Judy is doing well and know that Pat is keeping a close eye and providing good company for her.

Ruth, we had a similar dining experience on Sunday when we stopped at a seafood/steak house and the meal was pretty pricey for our budget but it was good.  Sorry to hear of the loss of your cousin.

Tisie, glad to see you joining us here.  We are always happy to have additional friends join in the conversation, whether new folks or folks some of us have known through other associations.  Sorry to read about your brother's situation.

I am cancer-free in my bladder for 9 years now!  Yay!  Somewhere I read or someone told me that Botox relaxes the muscles but Dr. Beam says that Botox paralyzes the nerves.  This wasn't what I went for yesterday but I go to the same office Friday for Botox in my bladder.

I am so happy that Judy is home and recuperating with Cimmy.  What a great picture story, Pat!

I doubt if I ever go to all cell phone for my telephoning.  My internet is through my phone company so unless I change that, I will have landline as well as cell.

The heat pump gurus are coming back Thursday.  I turned it off and won't try it again and if there isn't heat coming out of the system, it isn't fixed!!

Hi Tisie/Shirley!  I see you on Sr & F but so glad to see you on CP!

Janet, what has Darrel been eating that isn't good for him?  I have been watching 'Strange Addictions' on TV.  Eating soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper.  Just wondering!  ???

I am having the same weather as Larry today.  High 30's and drizzly rain.  BUT the temps are to fall and possible freezing mix.  And today is Euchre at 3pm.

Pray for my Tony and Charlene.  He sent me an email saying he was laid off yesterday for 2 months!!  He worked 60-70 hours a week before Christmas and I told him then that he would get laid off in January...to not spend that money.  I raised him to save but I didn't raise Charlene... ::)

I am getting a new cell phone it is a Motorola Citrus From Verizon the one I have now is only 2 yrs old, but  the Citrus has more of what I want. it will cost me $15. more a month for the data pkg, which doesn't include texting. I will probably put  the one I am using now on eBay after I clean it out and removed my photo card.

This is what it  looks like (http://mediacenter.motorola.com/Content/Detail.aspx?ReleaseID=13381&NewsAreaID=22)

Hello, Tisie/Shirley!!  Sure is good to see you here!  Hope things work out for the best for your brother.  I will always remember your kindness in coming to the hospital while I was there in Wichita with Beth!

Etta Sue, why would they want to paralyze the nerves in your bladder?  A doctor told me that Botox only lasts for about two months, you have to keep having the injections.

Larry, hello!  We have temps up near 60 today!  We went to Garden City for Darrel to have an MRI on his shoulder, and it was so pretty when we got home I couldn't resist going for a little walk! :)  Hope it warms up there soon.  How strange, for Kansas to be warmer than Georgia!

Marilyn, looks like a great little phone.  Looks more compact than my Droid and more like a phone than a little ipad.  When you get more used to it, I could give you suggestions what to get from 'Market'.  Love mine...except when I forgot I had limited minutes.   :idiot:

Janet, I have Botox injections in my bladder for a spastic bladder.  If you have seen commercials or read any ads for bladder problems, that was about me.  And yes, you do have to keep being injected but not every 2 months.  I got my injections June 18 and yesterday was the beginning of the seventh month.  I go Friday for more injections.  Let me tell you, Botox has given me a new life.  I don't even think of where the little rooms are...I know I can wait!  Remember I called it BIMBO?  Botox In My Bladder Operation!  They put a numbing solution in my bladder and wait a few minutes and then the doctor somehow injects the Botox...I got 15 injections totaling 400 units!  And when you are old, like me, Medicare pays for it.   ;)

We are under a weather advisory once again.  Yesterday, we did not get what was predicted.   :cheer:  Rain and ice.  But today we are to get 2-3" of snow by tomorrow at 5pm.  Just hope the heat pump guys can get here and this time fix it!!  :banghead:

Kitty and I are suppose to go swimming tomorrow afternoon but that all depends on heat pump guys and the weather.  Not enthused about swimming this week... ???

Thank you all for the warm welcome/welcome back.... so nice to see familiar faces & names!  This place "oozes" with good thoughts and kindness, you are good people!

The phone call came that my brother died about 1:30am today.  Yesterday news came that an older cousin died and another cousin is fighting a tumor in her lung that can't be surgically removed.  She had chemo & radiation, remains active and hopeful.  We have snow starting now through tomorrow but even more for MO (going through Kansas City).  All that should be cleaned off before the funeral, but more predicted for Sunday into Monday here.  My mind jumps from one thing to another, but I did want to share with you that tomorrow is my brother his wife's 60th wedding anniversary.... so they will be together in Heaven to celebrate.  No word when the funeral will be but they are facing deeper snow than we are so expect they will plan around the weather.

Hi everyone.  I little late getting here today.  Today was Bible Study but Pat wasn't feeling very good first thing this morning and so didn't attend.  I decided to skip the time at the donut shop and to get my car filled with gas and inspected for this year.  Fortunately, it passed the inspection but wasn't worried.  This evening is choir practice.

We finally have some sun this afternoon after a cloudy morning and it has reached 49 degrees.  Glad to see it a little warmer.  We are expecting a little more snow tomorrow night.

Shirley, you have my condolences for the loss of your brother  and your cousin.  It seems these things come in clusters.  Hope you don't get caught in unfavorable weather as you travel.

Ruth, chicken soup sounds good.  Hope you don't get too much snow this time.

Etta Sue, know that your medical report always eases your mind.  Once we have cancer that is always in the back of our minds that it may return.  I have a friend who received a whole series of botox injections to help with severe neck pain.  She has just undergone two surgeries on her neck as she was been in so much pain.

Judy, you do a good job with your one finger typing.  Glad you are safely home and in the recovery mode.

Janet, that sounds like you had balmy weather yesterday.  Those days are nice breaks in a winter season.

Marilyn, I looked at the page on the new phone you are getting.  I am sure you will enjoy it.  My good friend, Rod, recently got a smart phone and the carrier here has a $15 per month plan for data and a limited amount of texting, which he really doesn't do.

Shirley--I, too, am sorry for your losses.  Hope the weather clears so you can go to the service for your brother.

Larry, the balmy temps are gone now!  I got called to work today, and while I was driving into town this morning a little after 6, it was so foggy I could see barely four car lengths ahead.  It stayed foggy all morning, then turned to drizzle, with the temp falling steadily.  When I came home after 2, it was 31 and the drizzle was starting to freeze on everything.  I will have to be careful in the morning, as I have to go to work again tomorrow.

Judy, typing with one finger sure slows things down, huh?   But thanks for checking in, and take it easy, ya hear?

My back is hurting, started about 9 this morning, which made for a long day at work.  I'm sure glad I have a chiropractic appointment on Friday morning!!

Thanks for the explanation, Etta Sue.  I remember you had some sort of procedure for your bladder urgency, but must have missed your posts about the Botox.  They injected lots of Botox into Beth's legs a few years ago, trying to give her relief from the cramping.  It wasn't helping, so they stopped.

Ruth, home made chicken soup sounds wonderful for a cold winter's night!  Yummy!

Shirley, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of both your cousin and your brother, especially so close together.  If things are done the same as here, there will be a service soon, and then another for the actual burial in the spring after the ground thaws.  Makes it a long wait between sometimes.

Shirley, My sympathy on the loss of your brother and a cousin.  It is hard when the loss is so close in time.

Pat:  Thanks for the report on Judy & devotions as well.  I hope she is healing quickly.  Typing with one finger.

Janet:  How fun for you to be with the hillbilly group.

Strollin:  Hello - good to see you.

Larry:  It sure is hard to give up the fun activities.  You might want to try to keep in touch with all by meeting them for breakfast or lunch.

Good day today - lunch with two couples and our one couple friends found he may be able to skip the open heart surgery if the final results show that it is possible his problem is a virus.

Hi everyone from a chilly spot in Georgia.  It is still only 28 degrees but the sun is shining.

The main thing on our schedule today is to go to Atlanta and have lunch with our daughter.  We try to see her every two weeks and about every month or 6 weeks will bring her out to our house for an overnight stay.  We will meet her at the Shepard Spinal Center and eat in their cafeteria, which has good food.  Then we will go over to her apartment, which is just across the street, and spend sometime with her.

I do plan on stopping at MicroCenter on the way to Atlanta to pick up a 4 gig SD card that they are offering via a flyer for free.  It is a promotion to get people into the store.  When I get my ebook fixed (as it is now dead as a doornail) I will use it in there as that will hold thousands of books, not that I will put that many on it.

Shirley, my condolences, too, on the loss of your brother and cousin.  I am praying that the weather holds out so you may attend the funerals.

I am waiting....and waiting....and still waiting for the heat pump guy or guys to come and work on the heat pump.  It is snowing like mad here but that usually doesn't stop Hoosiers.  The snow plow has been on my road...going about 50mph!!!  The mail boxes are still standing but leaning!!  I would love to feel heat coming out of the heat pump and be able to stop using the expensive bottle gas to heat with.  I am grateful that I have both to rely upon as well as the electric fireplace and the solar heat.

Last evening I got an email reminding me that at church we were starting 'Wednesday Night Live'.  I went and it will be a 10-week study on Faith.  We will be watching videos by Andy Stanley and then discussion time.  There were about a dozen of us there.  Nice size group.

I am praying that I will get to the doctor's office tomorrow for my BIMBO.  Kitty is to take me but if it is still snowing she won't drive while it is snowing.  They will numb my bladder but the rest of me will be okay!  I can go by myself and will be fine!

Hoosiers are ready for Spring!!  This has been a winter that has been about 10 degrees colder than usual.  I have already swept off my deck twice this morning....about an inch of snow so far!  Nothing like Georgia has gotten with ice and all but still different than usual!  Maybe we were blessed by warmer weather the last few years!

11am and still no heat pump guy!!  Grrr!

Hello friends,  I thought I'd pop in and let you know I'm still alive, though struggling a bit.  September 5th began a very difficult time of loss for our family.  We lost my stop-mother-n-law to cancer.  Some of you had been praying for & I thank you.  (we flew to Socal for the memorial) Then, about 5 weeks later, my sister-in-law was killed in a car accident, leaving behind a husband and two young sons. (we flew to Texas for the memorial) Just before we left for her service I got a call that my friend had been in a car accident.  She died the next day, leaving behind a husband and 6 children.  When we arrived back home, I got a call that my Uncle (not saved) had died. Then, another friend died after our return home as well.  During this same 12 week time period, more difficult issues surfaced that we are also having to deal with and grieve over as a family.

Needless to say, I've been reeling!  At times it has felt like I can't catch my breath before the next wave hits.  It's been difficult to concentrate or focus on anything.  It seems just survival and breathing take up all of my energy.  It's been hard to process everything since just when I've begun to deal with one loss the next one hit.  God is good, though, and faithful to support us in this difficult time and we are beginning to heal from all of this loss and trauma.  Please pray for all the families of these dear people, especially the spouses and children.  I will post this in the prayer thread as well. (I was just in that thread and didn't remember I had posted about three of the others.  Please pray for my memory.  It's frustrating!)

Please keep me & my family in your prayers as this will be a long road to complete healing.  It is encouraging that all of these but one are now in the arms of Jesus.

Have a wonderful day, filled with God's blessings!  God is good, all the time!

Shutterbug and Shirley:   Deepest sympathy to you and the family's.

Larry:  The snow was just enough to look pretty.

Today we went to another local restaurant for launch this is ribs day but I had a western with a salad and others had the breakfast although most had the ribs.   Following that I went to the Wal Mart that is just down the road and purchased several of the Weight Watchers Smart Ones as they are on sale a good buy for the freezer. $2.00 a package.

Etta Sue, Carol, Jeanne Lee, Janet, Marilyn, Judy and the rest hello and have a great day.

Etta Sue:  I do hope your day went well and you were able to get to your appointment.

Ruth:  Hi - are you smarter now that you are eating Smart Ones??? :D  I need a ton of Smarts.

I did make it to the quilting group that meets the first & third Thursdays  but late because I thought it was 10 instead of beginning at 9.  Knitting begins at 10 on every Monday.  A crockpot has my veggie soup going for dinner as we pick up our daughter at 5:30 and have heard that the airport is just awful to find anyone & park - 3 people have told us that is true.  We will bring the cell phone.

Gas near Scottsdale is about $3.14 a gallon while other areas are under $3.  So, you know where we fill the tank as often as we drive to the cheaper location.

JudyB:  Will this hand healing take a long time and will you have therapy as well?  We used a paraffin dip machine for Don when he has extensive hand surgery - you have to buy different paraffin than the type used for jelly jars but it is so nice & comforting.

Carol, Judy's surgery was on her shoulder, not her hand.  ;)  Is it warm in the area of Arizona where you are now?

I worked again today, and boy!  Was it ever hectic!  Whew, I was so ready to come home.  If my back wasn't hurting, I'm sure the day wouldn't have seemed so long.  Sure glad I have that chiropractic appointment in the morning.

Larry, is this cold spell a record maker for your area?  I would have expected it to be much warmer there.  Hope it warms up soon.  I'm sure your daughter appreciates all the time and attention you give her.  Beth sure does appreciate us!  It constantly amazes me how happy she seems in spite of her condition.  I give John a lot of credit for that!

Ruth, I really enjoy ribs occasionally.  But no meat for me until after Jan. 31.

Screen jumping......later!

Today is my first physio appt.  the shoulder/arm pain is contrlled, the main problem seems to be digestion.  The sweetener in diet Gingerail has played havoc.  So no more, and a lite diet, I'll be fine.

We have snow today, looks pretty but not so nice for driving.  Plows haven't been out.

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee at the Senior Center.  Our group was small but we still had a nice time.  It is a beautiful and sunny but cold morning here, only 28 degrees. Think I get to stay home today as have nothing on my calendar so it will be a good time to catch up on a number of pending things I want to do and to just take it easy.

Last evening I thought I would plug my ebook reader in again to see if there was any possibility that it had lost its charge.  Apparently I had used it more than I realized as that was the problem.  When I flipped the switch before I went to bed it came up fine and it seems to be OK.  So I didn't have a problem with it after all.

We had a nice visit with our daughter yesterday and enjoyed having lunch with her and then stopping by her apartment for a few minutes.

Janet, it sounds like you are overworking yourself to the detriment of your physical well-being.  Hope you will soon have a few days off to recoup.  Hope the chiropractor treatment made you feel better.  I am sure our daughter does appreciate us just as Beth appreciates what you do to be of assistance to her.

Carol, your gas is more expensive than ours.  We are still at $2.99 but it varies several cents each week, sometimes changes on a daily basis.  Hope you have a nice visit with your daughter.  I remember that airport (Sky Harbor).  It is hugh.  At least you don't have to worry about ice and snow.

Ruth, I had a little chuckle when you mentioned going and having ribs to eat and then buying Weight Watchers Smart Ones at Walmart.

shutterbugmom, so sorry to hear of all the losses in your family circle and among your friends.  That seems to be way too many for such a short period of time.  Brighter days must be ahead for you.  It is nice seeing you post.

Etta Sue, can you find another company to service your heat pump?  It seems they are really giving you the run around.  Just glad you have other sources of heat available.  Your Wednesday evening study sounds interesting.

Tisie and Marilyn, I noted your postings also.

Judy, good luck with your physio appt.  Glad the pain is being controlled.

I got my Botox this morning.  Kitty is a scaredy-cat  :roflBig: when it come to driving in any weather other than sunshine.  She kind of scares me because she isn't confident in her driving.  I believe in driving defensive but you shouldn't slow down when you see a car getting ready to stop at your road a half a mile away.  Anyway, she was driving me today.  I told her not to drive in my drive...that I would walk to the road.  So we did that.

Before that, I did get my car out of the garage and drove up and down my driveway and Ivalou's driveway to blaze a trail!  Also if Kitty bowed out, I knew I could get to the doctor's office.

We got to the doctor's office early but they called me right back.  They put some numbing liquid in my bladder but the doctor didn't come in to inject the Botox for almost an hour.  I felt about 5 of the injections!!  (OO-EE-OO-AH-AH)  And I was having discomfort for about an hour later.  But I am find now and all is working correctly...if you know what I mean.   ::)

I did not get the heat pump fixed yesterday!  All I know that was done was they removed the freon and put nitrogen in it and will come back in a couple of days...probably 4-5... to see if any leaked out.  He did say that a certain amount of freon was to be put in along with a certain amount of pressure...which the other guy didn't do!  I am just praying that this is going to cost me an arm and a leg along with the cost of heating the house with bottle gas for 2 months!! But it's only money!!

Shutterbug...so sorry to hear of all the sadness and loss in your family and friends.  It's time to say 'Enough is enough!'

Going to go relax the rest of the day.  I moved the laptop to the dining room table...since I don't eat there...thinking that I wouldn't be online so much!

It is sunny here today, but cold, and the wind is really whipping it up.  Change is forecast for Sunday with possibility of a little more snow.

I got my adjustment this morning and hope I can sit without pain for the retreat tomorrow.  My back was out of line in five places, ouch!

Larry, I am not scheduled to work again till the 28th.  Yesterday was just an unusually hard day.  But I will be fine.

I got myself trapped today!  When I came home after my treatment and going to Pat's to get my hair done, I drove into the garage, and when I closed the door, I heard a loud SPROING!!  sound, and looked and saw one of the big springs that help operate the garage door swinging by one end!  The hook on the other end had broken off.  I called Darrel, who was in Liberal, and he said, "I don't suppose you can unhook the other end?" and I said I didn't suppose I was going to try, as I had just gotten my back adjusted.  So I called my sister and she came and gave me a ride to the Sr. Ctr. for lunch.  They had salad and green beans, which I could eat (took my own dressing) plus spaghetti and meat sauce, which I asked them to leave off my plate.  ;)

I am so excited about what God is doing in my heart during this fast!!  Wish I had been serious about it years ago!!

I also have two yahoo mail accounts, one for junk mail and one  for my bills. My personal account is my hotmail account. I will probably call you about this stuff on Monday. i have unlimited long distance on my home phone. you can send me your home number if  you will please. That way I can work on my cell phone while we are talking on my home phone.

Thought I'd best get in here and let y'all know that I've been reading your posts every day ... I just haven't had much to add so decided that "silence is golden" as my mom used to say.  ;)

A fella stopped by this afternoon and asked if I'd like for him to remove the moss that has accumulated on my roof ... also showed me where some of the pipe covers had rusted and pulled away from the roof and should be replaced.  He could take care of it this afternoon, for the tune of $500.

He came by, got up on the roof, and did his thing ... then came to the door to tell me he had found problems around the chimney and skylight and 3 vents needed replacing .... another $325!  ::)  He'll be back tomorrow to finish and I can write the check upon completion.  I guess so!  Oh, well, as Etta Sue says, it's only money.

I am so grateful that I just happen to have opened a savings account, a few months ago, for just this sort of "unexpected expense" ...  I'll be okay, and so will my roof ...

Things with my family remain pretty much the same ... God is in control and I'll not try to tell Him how He should take care of things.  I KNOW His ways are best ... and beyond our understanding.   :)

I pray, daily, for all the requests I read here and rejoice in the triumphs each one reports .... Sorry if I'm not all that visible, but I'm kinda shy y'know .....  :-[

Talk atcha later .....

Hi everyone.  Up fairly early this morning.  Saturday is the one day a week I allow myself to have my breakfast at McDonald's.  I almost always have the sausage burrito and it is usually very good with hot sauce.  So I have a little extra time before leaving for coffee.

Yesterday was a good day as it was beautiful weather with the sun shining brightly and not too cold.  I mentioned I had found my ebook reader wasn't broken, as I had thought for several days.  Then yesterday Pat took her new quilting calculator back and was able to exchange it even though we had discarded the receipt and the packaging since it had seemed to be fine.  I guess the moral of the story is to keep all receipts on anything that isn't consumed and might have to be returned.  I also enjoyed my free day at home and got a number of little jobs done that I had on my list.

Today I have a meeting to attend.  The boiler has been broken where we meet and the room has been cold the last several times we have met.  I sure hope they have it fixed now.

Our daughter called yesterday saying she had done her good deed for the day.  As she came off the subway she found a ladies wallet laying on the ground.  She noticed it had a bank card of a bank she was going to be going by.  So she stopped in the bank and they found the ladies number and called her to tell her her wallet had been found.  They took my daughter's name and number and later that day the lady called to thank Stacey for her actions and offered her $25.  However, Stacey refused the money saying she was happy to have helped someone have a good day.  I am proud of her thoughtfulness and quick thinking.

I see it is time to leave for coffee.  My friend will be waiting for me to pick him up.

HI folks. Been along time since I last posted here but I'm still around but have been very busy. I was home this week with Judy's surgery so I could be of a little help to her. Its been nice to have a week at home. Its been rather busy with a lot of freight to haul and running a lot of miles in all sorts of weather conditions. Spent a lot of time in the midwest where they have been getting hit pretty hard with snow thios year. I always seem to run these areas in the winter as the fairweather drivers tend to refuse these runs in winter due to fear of the weather. But as my dispatchers say you boys from the north can handle it But it is nice to get a break from it. Judy is doing quite well although still in a fair amount of pain. we really appreciate the prayer that has gone up for her and it is qite evident that God has been hearing them. Its sunny but cold here right now and suppose to remain cold for the weekend. Temperature when i got up this morning wqs minus 27C which is about equal to minu 17 or 18 F BRRRRR.Going to run for now. Will be back later today when I get some things done God Bless everyone. Bonesy.

Marilyn...just sent you an email with my home phone number.  And yes, you do have to have a gmail address for your phone.  I set up one for Droid different than what I have on the laptop.  On the laptop, I use Windows Mail and I have that set up on the Droid.  This past week I haven't liked that.  I get emails on Droid but not on the laptop.  So I have learned to not delete until I 'see' them on the laptop if it is something that I know I would like to view on the laptop.  You can't view any .pps files on Droid.  It just shows the first picture.  You can access any web mail on Droid with the user name and password.

Janet...you caught me!  I try to proofread my posts and most of my mistakes are leaving out 'not'.  I guess I need to re-read after proofreading!!

It is cold here.  Finally up to 10 degrees.  The sun is shining but that's about it!  I got cold sitting here at the laptop and turned up the furnace a couple of degrees!  It's only money!

Kitty may call me later and I may go there to help her with her computer or computers!  She only has 4 and I think she needs to conquer one before moving onto another.  But....

I just want to share a Jim Elliot saying that really moves me:

Puts things kind of in proper perspective - none of the things of this life are ultimately important.

Al:  A very interesting and always timely quote from Jim Elliot.  I don't know the name but there is an entire sermon in that one sentence.

Etta Sue:  Oh, that had to be hurtful and I am so glad that your procedure is finished.  I read it too quickly about the botox and then the freon and had to stop and reread your post.  So glad they did not use freon on your person.

Larry;  The lady who was helped by your daughter must be so thankful.  A real act of kindness.

Janet:  The temperatures have been cool every morning but not bad enough that we can't walk.  Our daughter is here for two more days & we have trekked all over with her even enjoying a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright house & grounds.  He was never schooled in architecture which I thought was amazing - all those genius brains wasted as he took all the credit himself - never giving thanks for his gifts.

JudyB:  I had forgotten it was your shoulder surgery.  My knitting is so slow but I have just another five inches to knit on the back portion rectangle of that sweater design I sent on to you.

Larry:  Do you have the apps on your eReader for your battery?  I check that once in awhile on my iPod.  We had to order a new TomTom for the car as our old one was always getting lost - even today it was blocks off.  The new one is supposed to tell us which lane to use.

Hi everyone on a lovely Sunday morning.  It is still overcast but no precipitation in the forecast for today.  I am ready to head for church.  Not sure yet whether Pat will feel like going or think but rather think she will.  If she does we will go somewhere for lunch and then have a restful rest of the day.

I will watch the football games later this afternoon and evening and read more.  I am about 200 pages short of finishing the book "Decision Points" by George Bush.  It is a very interesting book.  The copy I have from the library is about 700 pages but reads quickly.  I will then go back to reading on my ebook reader as am about 2/3rds the way through a good book there that I got free from Barnes & Noble.  They offer a free book every Friday, some of which are not of interest to me.  With the new 4 gig SD card I got free the other day I can put thousands of books into my ebook reader.  Then I will have to live a very long time to get them all read.  :)  I wish!

Judy, hope you were able to get some rest in your recliner.  John, it is good to see you posting and also that you were able to be home to help Judy for a week.  I sure don't envy you driving a big rig on snowy and icy roads.  We had many examples of that here a few days ago when our Interstates became parking lots due to the ice.  I am sure you are an excellent driver.

Carol, there isn't a separate app on my ebook reader to show the power.  However, if you are reading and the power reaches 15 percent it flashes on the screen as a warning.  Apparently I wasn't ready when it reached that point so I didn't realize it was out of power.  Pandigital has now put out software that allows you to "jailbreak" their app to take better advantage of the Android software.  I may install it and see what happens as can always put it back into the condition it is now.  This will make the reader work a bit like the iPad since it has the 7" screen.  Glad you daughter has been with you these few days.  It sounds like you have kept busy.

Jeanne, I have been watching the weather reports for up your way and feel for you.  I lived in a mobile home for several years and know they can get chilly quickly.  Glad you are back in for a week.

Al, good quote.  Thanks for sharing it.

Etta Sue, your friend has me beat on the number of computers she has.  Glad you are able to help her and sure she appreciates your help.  It is so nice to have a good friend to do things with and just spend time with.

Marilyn, you are certainly creative with your cards and stationary.  Do you do a lot of correspondence using the stationary?

I didn't know Jim Elliot personally, but our former pastor up near Portland, Oregon did.  He previously lived in a house we lived in, and he built a very nice shed on the back of the property which I used as a study and workshop while we lived there.  He and his wife Elizabeth were ,missionaries in Ecuador to the Auca Indians.  They went down to a beach on the local river and were speared to death by the indians.  Interestingly, though, Elizabeth later was instrumental in leading to Christ those very same indians who had killed her husband.  There's a book about it called "Through Gates of Splendor."  As far as I know, she's still living and serving our Lord.

It is still a cold day in Indiana.  The 7-day forecast shows nothing above freezing!  I think someone on Facebook said we have 57 more days until Spring!

I was going to let my car warm a bit but Ivalou was already out and shoveling some snow so I figured my car was warmer than her being out in the cold.  We got to church early but the church was nice and warm.

Church was great.  The woman who gave the communion meditation was great...comparing being on trial today to being a Christian.  When we enter Heaven Satan is going to remember all those times that we weren't Christian-like and try to get us but Christ will be right there and forgive us of our sins and allow us to enter Heaven for eternity.

The sermon was on 'God Can Build His Church'...not the brick and mortar church but our spiritual church in all of us.  Great day at church today.

Then four of us went to O'Charley's for lunch.  Love their twisted chips!

Now to hang out at home until about 5:40 and then go to the minister's home for a Small Group study.  Tonight's the first night for that.

Yesterday was a really budy one for me.  I attended the Shiela Walsh event, which was wonderful!  What a lovely lady, and what a powerful testimony!  And she has a great sense of humor, to boot!  I thoroughly  enjoyed the day, and was blessed in many ways.

After that, I went to see about Mom and Beth.  Beth was great, busy talking to John, but Mom still isn't doing well at all.

Then at 6:00 we had a supper at church, and our pastoral candidate and his family were there to meet us.  He seems to be genuine, and has a love for the Lord and for people.  His name is Kris, wife Jessica and children Addalyn and Judah, 2 years and three months old, respectively.

Kris preached this morning, and his calling and love became even more evident.  He was understandably nervous, but his heart showed through.  We have a business meeting in an hour (had a carry-in dinner) and will be voting whether or not to call him as our pastor.  I feel sure the vote will be an overwhelming YES!  I'll let you know if I'm right.  ;)

Janet:    Is your garage door fixed yet?

Al:         It is good to see you again, with your words of wisdom.

Carol:     Do you have the sweater finished yet?
