Hi everyone.  Today is Bible Study morning with our pastor as we continue the study of Romans.  We are in the 2nd chapter.  It is suppose to rain later this morning but move out by this evening.  Maybe it will be over by the time I have choir practice this evening.

Janet, sorry to hear that Darrel had to have the biopsies done but it is best to know if there is a problem and this is an area that can be treated very successfully.  I know the days of waiting are the most difficult as our minds run away with thoughts.  So sorry to read that Beth is so weak.  Is this a result from her recent surgery?  Just take things one day, or one minute, at a time and let God walk with you.  I will be praying for you all.

Jane, hope you have a safe trip over the passes.  Glad you got your car fixed recently so you were ready for the trip. 

Pat, I have taken niacin for at least 20 years on a daily basis for my heart and to help control the cholestrol.  For the last few years I have taken something called Slo Niacin that releases throughout the day.

Marilyn, I am sure Willa is glad to be out of the hospital.  Nice of you to help Fay with her curtains.

Etta Sue, sounds like you have the downloading of YouTube videos down and under control.

Janet:  Sending you that group hug too - there isn't much to say except that all of us in here do care.

On Pandora, there is lovely music by Fernando Ortega - so soothing.  I have built one station as Old Church Music so I can listen to the oldie songs.

Larry:  So many times I think of your gifts - you taught us how to use Pandora. 

Long day for Don today, a board meeting in Denver, we are in Tucson, via phone (he will use the computer SKYPE method) from early afternoon until 8 PM Rocky Mountain Time.  We have worked on my little Singer Featherweight off and on for three days & yesterday "got it working", saving at least $70.  We don't even know what we did differently but thank heaven - I had to take a walk just from the frustration that everything was looking perfect but it didn't work. 

Our friends sent over part of their dinner last night - how nice - gotta go

I have several things to do today, toenail appointment with the senior nurse; moving committee meeting at the care home, more packing for Beth, birthday cards to mail to my youngest, Kerri.

Snow!  Snow!  Snow!  I do believe I had/have 15" of that thick white rain on my deck.  Tony is here and snow blowing my driveway.  At least 12" there.  Lots of white stuff!  But the sun is shining!! 

I put on a pot of ham and beans this morning for lunch and they sure hit the spot.  Very good but I know they will be better tomorrow!!! 

Just know that I am praying for everyone and their concerns on CP.  I am learning more and more how powerful prayer is.  Took me awhile but I am learning.

Okay.  I give up.  When I came to CP a little window said I have a Personal Message.  I clicked yes to see it now.  But it didn't take me to it.  I have looked and looked.  How do I get to my personal messages.  Used to it was on the sidebar but I don't see it now.  Help?  I got a couple this week by email notification but not today.

Hello from snowy southern Ontario it started to snow this morning and it is still arriving we are to have lots by evening.  Mel & I went for our regular Wednesday coffee at Tim's and now we are home for the rest of the day.  Earlier I had done 2 loads of laundry, I baked an apple pie and now a small roast of pork is in the oven.  The rest of the day will be spent filing paper in the proper places and yes some will go to the gargage as well.

Ruth, how much snow is there right now?

I'm considering driving up to Ontario at the weekend.

Pat according to the radio the busses in Guelph were on a snow day today.  Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same.  Give it a day or two and let this blow itself out.  Visibility was only about 700 feet,  or 15 travelling seconds at 80 kmph.  The road was snow covered and slippery.  The joob the plows are doing is sub-standard.

Came home and the girls have the dishes  done and the sweepup done!!!!  Woohoo

Got to go and eat.  Really hungry today.

Janet, I must have missed that Beth was being moved?  Is this a recent decision?  My heart sure hurts for you all.  I'm praying with all here for your strength through this.

Carol, doesn't Fernando Ortega have just the most soothing voice?  I've not found anything he's done that I disliked.  I have him on Pandora too.

I would think about cooking a pot of beans, Etta Sue, but I can't seem to get the energy.  I tend to have more than one nap every day.  Whatever is wrong, I think it's about time I'm over it.  I'll talk to my doctor next week, and see if this is just a regular cold, allergies, all of the above, or more.  But beans and cornbread does sound really good.

Nita, yes, Beth is to be moved---along with all of the other residents of the care home!  We have built a brand new facility, just a block from the present one, and the move-in date was set for February 11.  Then today at the moving committee meeting, we were informed that the State Fire Marshall was here, and seems he is one of those who likes to "throw his weight around" and found something wrong, and refuses to come back for the final inspection until March.  So now the date is set for--tentatively, at least---March 25th.  I won't even be in the country then, how can I help move Beth and Mom?     

Ruth, it sounds as if you are enjoying being home.  Good for you!

Our warm weather returned again today, only needed a sweatshirt or sweater.  But we sure need moisture!

I have to work early tomorrow (6 AM) so better be getting myself to bed.  I have been sitting here editing my sister's book.  It's fun.

Beth did seem a little bit stronger today, praise God.  And I got two more boxes of her stuff packed, too.

That was a wonderful devotion. Thank you very much. It has given me much to meditate on.
I thought you might like to know that our prayers for my friend Niki have been answered. She responded very well
to the chemotherapy and had a successful operation a short while back. Next week she starts radiotherapy and
after that her treatment is finished. Praise our wonderful God!
I was wondering if you could keep us in your prayers the next few weeks. Here in Southern Australia we are going
through a severe heat wave. I am writing this at 11.30 PM Saturday night and I just checked my outside thermometer and it is reading nearly 9o degrees. During today it hovered between 115-120 degrees. It was the same yesterday and is expected to be the same tommorrow. Next week will be in the 90's every day with no rain expected at all for some time. All this is resulting in extremely dry forests and as a result a very strong possibility of Bushfires(Wildfires). Today my state(Victoria) had about 6 outbreaks and the firefighters are still battling them. They think some were even lit deliberately. We live with this threat every summer, but I think this time the threat will be severe at least for the next 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for the update on Niki, Rob.  That's wonderful news.  This cancer is such a terrible disease.  I'm not sure if you were reading in here or not but Judy and I lost our dear brother to it back in the fall and I've just not been able to get over his death too well but what a wonderful place he's in now!  Praise the Lord!

I was wondering also how you did with your surgery.  I hope all went well and you have no more hernias.

On another site that some of us are on, Seniors & Friends, I've been hearing from our Aussie friends about the extreme heat you've been having.

And here in Washington, DC, we had the first snow of the season while my home up in Guelph has been covered in snow numerous times this winter!

Ruth ~ Thanks for directing me to the Messages.  I looked on that line and I guess since it didn't say 'Personal' Messages, I went right past it. 

Well, after just one day of having to stay in, Kitty and I are going to venture out today.  We have a photo contest that needs to be entered by the 24th of February so we are going for matte boards, frames, printer ink and whatever else we can find.  I told her I would leave the house at noon.  That way she can fix lunch for her hubby. 

It didn't snow any last night...just sooo cold.  20% chance of snow this afternoon.  So we should be fine!  We got 12.5 inches of snow in 24 hours.  That ranks 6th for the most snow fall in 24 hours in the history of Indiana.  It sure did come down!

Hi everyone.  Thanks for mentioning Fernando Ortega as I had never heard of him.  I added a radio station on Pandora for him and am listening to him as I write.  I also like the feature of hearing other similar artists on the same station. 

I just heard on the radio this morning the weather folks in our area are watching developing weather for the first of the week saying there is a potential for a blizzard type situation like we last had in 1993.  I sure hope they are wrong. 

My wife has gone with a friend this morning to a quilt shop as the friend was looking for some quilting material of a particular type.  Carol, do you have the problem of seldom having just the right things from your cloth stash when you start a new project?  I am sure she will find a little something in fabric that she will want. 

After coffee this morning four of us walked at the gym of the church.  Then I stopped a the bank to cash a check I had written out this earlier this morning but found I had left it on my desk.  Fortunately the teller said she could use a counter check so I didn't have to make an extra trip.  Good thing because Pat was waiting for me to get home with some money before she left (bad sign)  .

Nothing much else on the agenda for today as don't have to be anywhere else. 

I have read all the posts and Rob glad to see your positive posting about the cancer situation.  It sure is hot down your way.  Do you have any air-conditioning?

Janet, that is disappointing news about the delay in moving to the new home for Beth and your mother.  However, I am sure they will get them moved.

Pat, it sounds like staying in the south a little longer might be wise although sure you are anxious to get back to Guelph.  Do you bring Geordie with you to Virginia?

I quit my job about 2 weeks ago due to them telling me to choose between my husband and the store so granted I choose my husband and so they can have their store. Oh well I already have a new job and its a managment position on the night shift... They need a response closing person I had explained to my new boss why I quit my job of four years with no notice and she fully understood. Anyways just thought i'd drop in and tell ya'll i was still around! Hope you have a good day and good week!

Sarah, good to hear from you.  That's sure the choice I would have made in that situation!  I like my hubby! 

I worked, went by to check on Beth and Mom, and am about to fall asleep on my keyboard.  So I am going to my recliner for a nap!

Pat:   You know what winter driving is all about and you will make out fine.  I understand that the next real storm is coming on Monday. Yes more snow but I did understand that Guelph has less than we do.  But I really feel sorry for those roasted folk in Australia.
Pat:  Seniors and Friends did not open was something missing?

I have come to check on some of the computer settings which did seem ok. Then I will be going to finish reading a magazine so I can have it in tomorrows blue box (garbage).

Pat I was just talking to John and he has stopped in Guelph.  There is a storm in that area and the roads are bad, not being cleared well at all.  He suggests you wait a day or two more.  We are still getting it up here.

I am off to bed early tonight.  I too am tired.  Tomorrow is my last day at work and I am ok with that.  It is a burden lifted.

Janet:  Stop and think about this - Beth and your mom need to be moved & you would be there working your tush off - some higher power changed the date so you cannot be in there doing too much. Hmmmm?  Maybe this is the best thing for you right now. 

Larry:  Pat knows that the colors never match with what you have in the stash.  It would be better if we were color blind; it would save a lot of money in the long run.  I now have built several stations and one is all ABBA records or likewise, and another Old Church Music.  My cousin came and I showed him how to use Pandora - I wish he would get on CP - he is a wonderful person (but he needs help on computers). 

Rob:  Praying - these hot temperatures are really frightful.

PAt Was talking to John .  Whole area covered in black ice.  But the report on Guelph radio is good weather for tomorrow and Sunday then it is to sock in again on Monday.  So perhaps now is the time to head north.

Was to work today.  Stupid van won't start.  God knows why but I certainly don't.  Another lady is covering my shift.  The boss left last night.

Sooo I have sewing to do and other work to do as well.  This is the beginning of a nes season in my life.  God is in control and I rest in that.

I finished editing my sister's book last night.  I corrected many mistakes in spelling and punctuation; suggested other changes; encouraged her not to use so many incomplete sentences, and added a few of my own memories to the stories she had written about our childhood.  She knows she is free to accept or reject any suggestions.  It was an enjoyable experience for me, and I will get it back in the mail to her today.

It is COLD here this morning!

I have several things I have been putting off doing and have decided this is the day to get them done.  So.....off I go to do them!

Hi everyone.  It is a sunny but cold day here today and the wind has come up a bit.  It is only getting to 47 degrees today.  After coffee at the Senior Center, where we had 15 men show up this morning, I went to Kroger's to do some grocery shopping.  The few items I picked up came to almost $50.  Every time I go to the store the prices seem to have increased.

We just had a call for friends asking if we wanted to meet for dinner this evening and then come to their house to play dominos.  Of course we said yes.  I had no other plans for the day or evening.

Sarah, I agree with your decision as it sounds like your former employer was being very unreasonable.  I am sure your new employer will be glad to have someone with the experience you have.

Pat, it sounds like from the various reports from Ruth and Judy that it could be a tough trip back to Guelph at this time.  After I asked about Geordie yesterday I read on another discussion that you do have him with you. 

Janet, the book sounds interesting.  I am sure your sister appreciates your help.  It is not likely her book could be published with incomplete sentences. 

Don, glad to see you posting here and hope you have had a good time at the lake.

Well, Kitty and I got everything purchased that we went after.  We also did have lunch out...where else but a Mexican restaurant?  Then we went to three stores.  When I left the house, I had to take about 6 steps in snow up to my knees so I said I needed to be back home so I could see where I was going since I didn't leave any outside lights on.  There was a bad accident west of me...three cars out in the side ditches and fields...the road was really slick there due the blowing snow across the road.  Kitty's road was only about 1 and a third lanes where the road was out in the open.  I turned into Kitty's drive and it was almost drifted back but I made it.  She has a U shaped drive so the other end was okay.  My road was fine.  My county does great road work.  Kitty called to make sure I got home okay.  I told her to tell Bob to come in on their east drive.  He didn't.  He got stuck!  Neighbor kids pushed him out!  MEN! 

The snow plows have been by here 4 times all ready today! 

I woke up around 4:30am this morning.  I couldn't go back to sleep.  I got up again a little after 5am.  Today is Tony's birthday so I turned on the computer and sent him an email on his cell phone telling him he was 48 years, 5 hours and 20 minutes old!  He wrote back and said, 'Thank you...now go back to bed.'  I didn't.  Still up.  Now I feel a nap coming on this afternoon.

JudyB ~ Enjoy your time at home the rest of this winter season.  Perhaps find a job in the spring!

We have decided to get chickens again this year.  and put in a good sized garden.  Those of our adult kids who help with the work will get a portion.  That will help all through the next winter.  Didn't get done last year because I was working.

Trying to download adobe.  Between dial up and a slow puter it is taking forever.

Etta Sue, I really, really wish some of you could share that white stuff with us.  It is so dry here we are worried about the trees and such.  Back up into the 60s today.

I am working tomorrow morning 6-2, then in the evening I am going to the kick-off banquet for  New Ulysses' 100th birthday year.  The town was founded three miles east of the present site, then moved to avoid paying some bonds.    A fellow I know is doing a concert and I want to see/hear him, so I'm attending the banquet.

Don has gone to a bank & this transaction has already taken three trips.  It seems that we know more than the poor untrained fellow who is a manager.  It will also take almost a week longer because there is no urgency in their work. 

Larry:  I just invited friends over here in an hour - isn't it fun to do spur of the minute things like going out or whatever? 

Cannot get on Seniors & Friends. 

I have been choosing fabric and putting everything on the floor to look at & sewing - neck has a sore spot in it now.
