Morning Devotional...Listening for His Voice
from the messages of Adrian Rogers
Adrian Rogers Legacy Bible
BIBLE MEDITATION:
Proverbs 7:24 -
"Hearken unto Me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of My mouth."
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
The United States Government doesn't teach Treasury agents to detect counterfeit bills by having them study fakes. They show these agents real dollars over and over and over until they have the pattern memorized. Then, when a counterfeit is put in front of them, they recognize it instantly because it doesn't fit the pattern their eyes are looking for.
Do you know the voice of the Lord? The only way you can be sure that it is His voice you are hearing is to hear it so often that a stranger's voice is instantly recognizable. It is far wiser to spend time learning the One True Voice than it is trying to learn to detect a multitude of false voices.
ACTION POINT:
Spend at least 15 minutes today being silent before God and listening for His voice.

We also are weak in Him, yet by
God's power we shall live with Him.
2 Corinthians 13:4
I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I'll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.
Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
When my feeble life is o'er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o'er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.
Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Bright and sunny this morning. But COLD! But this is the last day of January so the end is in sight. I hope!
Hi everyone. It is 26 degrees here this morning but no rain or snow so no complaint.
I am going to church to sing in the choir this morning but will leave early as this is Stacey's BD (she is 45 today) and we are going to her apartment and taking her to Red Lobster for lunch. Then we will spend some time with her this afternoon.
I recorded the AMW last evening but Pat deleted it this morning thinking she had recorded something she hadn't wanted to record. I think I can watch it from the website. When I looked at the website yesterday I saw they had past episodes available. Sure hope this leads to something.
Jeanne, thanks for the devotional for this week. It is a good one.
Judy, we have had a towel at the foot of our stairs for several weeks as cold air comes down from upstairs. I think this helps.
Time to leave for church.
No one has been here all day today? Where is everyone? Not much is new here, Had wonderful sun for part of the day so I took each dog for a nice long walk and enjoyed being out in the fresh sunny air. I have been working on a few things in PSP like cards, animations stationery and other graphics.
Hi, friends,
I was here earlier by interrupted by a phone call, then supper, then.....
So, here I am again! :)
It's been a quiet day. With almost all churches in town closed because of the bad icing conditions, I chose to "attend" worship by TV. In this instance, it was a very good choice - a wonderful husband/wife ministry team presented a very moving testimony about how her having a non malignant brain tumor the size of a softball that had caused her to lose her sight, and needing to have 4 brain surgeries brought them to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, how their musical performance moved me - they both were first chair in their respective symphony sections (violin and flute) but chose to go into full-time ministry with their story. By the way, the Lord restored her sight!
Then, it has been a day of reflection, quiet activities, etc.
So, I'm just about to turn in for the evening.
Just wanted to send my love to all.
I was in bed and forgot something I had to do. Thus I am wide awake and my mind is racing!
Jeanne excellent devotional.
Frustrated today with some of the cadet leaders. Today was the business meeting at church. we passed it up as Kassie had drill team practice. We arrived home and checked for messages about cadets and there were none. Headed into the Bay only to find out that practice was canceled. I even called the next cadet in line to make sure we had the time right....and wasn't informed. Grrrrr I will be speaking to someone about this tomorrow.
On a brighter note we had a nice visit with Heather at her home and Doug at his. Heather's kids were visiting friends and Doug's were at his in-laws. We enjoy the grands, but it is also nice to have a quieter visit.
Well it is getting late. Night all
Judy

Marilyn, there were some messages posted this morning before Jeanne turned the page ....
Hi everyone from a chilly but sunny Georgia. The housekeeper is here today so we will have a nice clean house by afternoon. She missed coming two weeks ago so we needed the attention today.
Had coffee as usual this morning and then walked a mile at the gym. They have a preschool program at the church where we walk and they were registering for the next term this morning so there were a lot of little tykes in the gym. Very cute.
Not much else happening here today. I will go to my Monday men's luncheon, which is at a new place that just opened in our town called Johnny's New York Style Pizza.

I just spent almost an hour working on a photo for Guild and now I can't find it!!! Grrr!
I have to leave in a hour to take Ivalou to rehab and then to a doctor appointment and the grocery store.

That is so frustrating Etta Sue especially when you are on a deadline!
Doug and John have cut the complete exhaust system off the other van. It is solid and will fit the van that we use. The blessings of having a son who knows mechanics, and having a parts van!!! It will be installed tomorrow AM.
Check out Prayer and Praise. Kathleen has given us a link to a situation in Haiti.
I still have one chevron to sew on Kassie's tunic and then I will wash it for her. Took a break to give my shoulders a break!.
Be back later.
Judy
Etta Sue - been there, done that! It's so frustrating! >:(
Judy, I sympathize with you and your aching shoulders. What makes it doubly difficult is that the placing has to be so exact!
You are so right Jeanne! On top of that she is so fussy!

HAHA! That's when it's time to say "OK, here. Do it yourself." They learn quick that way. Of course, her wounded arm might create a problem. How is her arm, by the way?
I did that Jeanne... She backed off and let the sewing go till this weekend. Then asked properly. I don't mind do it for her, and she doesn't have the sewing skills despite the fact that I have tried to teach her. She marches to a different drummer. Her arm is now sore. no longer is it numb or tingling. I am afraid we are going to have to do another round of antibiotics. She is bucking that as they are so brutal on her digestive system.
Thinking of everyone & sending prayers for all your needs.
Larry: G-daughter is great at taking charge of anything in the house & with the pets as well so we really have easy times whenever staying with any of the grands. Of course, we pay attention to anything that sounds, shall I say, different? It is still always a great time. She will bake a German Chocolate cake for a friend's birthday & the friend wants no gifts but money sent to Haiti.
I am trying to learn how to print a label for a quilt on the computer and put a picture of an eagle on the label - there is a lot of information out there.
Also, getting estimates for a new furnace. It has a problem and there is a rebate now so we shall decide this week - ugh.
It took me three days but I finally learned how to download books from the library to a little iPod. These are amazing things with symbols so tiny that they can barely be read - will have to be very careful not to lose this iPod.
Judy I missed something What happened to Kass's arm? Enlighten me please.
Judy, Gene had trouble with his stomach with some meds (he'd had an ulcer at one time) and learned he could avoid the problems by taking all pills with milk rather than water - and in the last few years he too a lot of pills. Just a suggestion, but maybe that would help Kass, too.
Marilyn - Kass was bitten by a dog they had. They don't have him now.
I have read but think I was interrupted before I got a post done. Anyway, after a night with only one hour of sleep, I went back to work this morning at the care home. I'm cooking on the 400 Neighborhood, which is Beth's place. They only have 9 residents who come for breakfast, so it's an easy job, and I only work 6-10 AM. This afternoon I had an appointment in Hugoton with an ENT doctor about a hemoangioma on my tongue. He thinks it should be surgically removed.....I'm thinking about the possible problems he said that may cause and weighing it against leaving it alone. I will see him again in two weeks and give him my decision. Bah. How I dislike going to doctors! (But am very glad we have them!)
Toni and g-g-daughter Lexi were in Hugoton today, so I got to see them. Also Abby. Always good to see all of them.
Jane, I did watch America's Most Wanted the other night. What a sad story, and that poor Dad! Child sexual abuse is such a horrible crime! The innocence of a child is stolen and cannot ever be regained. I pray the daughter will turn to God, as He is her only hope of ever living a normal, decent life on this earth.
I am so 'foggy' from lack of sleep I'm not sure I am even making sense, so will stop and see you all another day.
Hi, friends, it still icy on the parking lots and regular streets here in Nashville. When that used to happen, my grandma would comment, "Well, child, it's lying around waiting for some more company!" And, likely that "company" (meaning more snow or ice) may come from an unexpected rainy night tonight, and then more snow predicted for Friday.
Yep, it's surely nice to be high and dry and warm!
Judy, I've learned that if I accompany the antibiotics with plenty of yogurt, it really does help the digestive/intestinal difficulties. The yogurt puts back essential bacteria to replace the ones killed by the antibiotics.
Y'all have a great rest of the day.
Love and prayers, Ruth Ann
This antibiotic causes severe nausea. She takes it with food but I am not encouraging milk or milk products....just yet. She will be into the yogurt as soon as I know she is infection free. She had to leave exams because of the nausea and they had to cover her for that. Many times she didn't make the washroom and had to use the waste basket. I hate to put her on it again for another round. We'll see.
Janet how was Abbey? I miss hearing you talk about her. How old is she now? Go see if you can get some sleep. A hot bath and warm milk help?
Hi everyone. It has rained all night but it looks like it should move out of our area in a couple of hours or so. I am about ready to leave for coffee and walking at the gym. I have one other activity today and will take it easy the rest of the day. Yesterday I got the bills paid for the month something we are always glad to have behind us.
Ruth Ann, you all got hit hard with the ice and snow. Hope you can stay in until the icing has melted. Sure don't want to have another fall.
Janet, sure that Beth appreciates getting to eat your cooking every now and then.
Carol, nice that your granddaughter is so responsible. That is always encouraging.
Hope everyone has a nice day today.

Whew! What a day yesterday. I got some crocheting done on the baby afghan while Ivalou was doing her physical and speech therapy. Then it was off to the doctor's office. People look at us weird when we say we don't have a doctor but see a Nurse Practitioner. Ivalou got called back as soon as we got there. Andrea came in shortly and she was with Ivalou and I listening, talking, looking up things on her medical hand-held and even calling the hospital for them to send a fax to her on the latest blood work that Ivalou had for about an hour. No doctor has ever spent that much time listening and helping us. Right now Ivalou is having some weird complications...most of which I think she is afraid of another stroke coming on. She has soreness in her mouth...gradually getting worse as the day progresses. And nothing tastes good. The neurosurgeon and Andrea both thought it was a Vitamin B-12 deficiency. Blood work didn't show that but she is low on iron. And Andrea doesn't think that the medication to prevent gout that Ivalou was taking before the stroke is NOT what made her slow, tired, no appetite etc. So she is starting that medication again today with the iron supplement.
So after leaving the office with 3 RX's, we went to eat at El Rodeo. This was 5pm and Ivalou ate almost a whole Nachos Supreme! She said it tasted soooo good! Wow!
Then to the drug store to get her RX's filled.
I got her home and waited about 15 minutes and then went to Church Council at church. Home at 8:15.
I hope today isn't as busy. At least in the same manner. I am taking Kitty to a pizza buffet in Greenfield where I used to live. Then they have a huge Hallmark store and a huge store like everythings a dollar. The sun just popped out so maybe we will have some photo ops also.
I did get the photo done for Photo Guild. Yeah!»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏïS«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

I am at Dougs waiting for the van to be done. I called the doctor about more antibiotics for Kassie and the earliest they can fit her in is Friday. This is frustrating. So it is into the clinic tonight. It means staying in the Bay till she is seen. Another late long night.
We woke up to a beautiful scene of Hoar frost all over everything. Wish I'd had a camera!
Well nothing is ever easy! I am still waiting for the van. The part of the muffler that attaches to the engine is half a turn off from the holes the bolts have to go into. The mechanic has to cut the muffler off turn the head of it and then weld it back together! Ohhhh brother, even the dealer said we had the correct parts!
I will let you know how this all ends!
And let us know how much hair you have left, Judy. ;D
I have all my hair.... HE could have charged me $170. BUT I was asked for $100. The catalytic converter itself was worth over $400, then there is the rest of the exhaust system. All for $100! God is good ----All the time!!!
Kassie is on antibiotics again.
We have everything she needs to go on this winter survival outing.
Tired tonight. I may be back later.
I did get a good night's sleep last night. Judy, I cannot STAND warm milk! I have hated the taste of it ever since I was a very young kid and had to milk the cows. Tried it, did not like it! But the cats sure loved it! ;) :D
Glad you got Kassie squared away again.
Larry, yes, Beth does like to eat Mom's cooking! She normally doesn't even eat breakfast, but since I am cooking, she makes special requests. This morning I made her a bacon and cheese omelette with hash browns, crisp! (No, I wouldn't dream of spoiling her!) :) ;)
Our snow is nearly gone, and it looks like the road won't get too bad this time. Not a lot of moisture, but what we got is needed and appreciated!
Judy, Abby is 12-going-on-17 now. She looks it, too. But she seemed more like my Abby yesterday; at least she came and gave me a hug. Why must they grow up so quickly? Twelve should still be a little girl! :-\ And Lexi wouldn't have a thing to do with me. I wanted a picture with her, so I picked her up and she yelled like crazy, but Toni took a picture anyway. She sure likes her Grandpa Jeff, though. :) Of course, guys don't seem to need to love on them like grandmas want to. Sigh..... Diane gave me several photos of Abby, from school and dance.
Tomorrow I get to enjoy a liquid diet, nothing red, in preparation for that dreaded procedure on Thursday. The doctor's office called today to let me know my mammogram was normal, so that's good.
That's all, folks!
:) Judy B. I am sure that you were very happy that you got that deal. I had to put new brakes on my new van that got 6 months ago boy I sure was not expecting that bill and the price is ridiculous. I hope that Cassie gets better soon.
Larry and Pat. How are you both doing ? How is your daughter I hope that she is getting stronger as her job that she will be doing will come soon.
Al. Hope that you and your wife are doing o.k. :)
Etta Sue. You are still a very busy person and do hope that Ivalou is continuing to do o.k. and that you both are able to enjoy each others company for many years to come. The Lord will give you strength so as they say keep the faith baby and the Lord bless you both. Gord. :)
May the Lord be with all of the rest of C.P. persons and remember to pray for Pats right arm and shoulder that the Lord will renew strength in it. Good night to all. Gord. :cp:
Well, Janet, as I was thinking about you dreading the procedure, another one of my grandma's homespun sayings came to mind: "A stitch in time saves nine." We surely have to continue our prayers for your safety and for your peace of mind, as well as for guidance from on high for your physician as this procedure is being performed.
Lots of love to all of y'all.
I've done most likely just about all the grocery purchasing I'll do this month. So, now, I've gotta rev up my resolve, push one of the grocery carts out to the car, and get it unloaded!
:)
:) JANET: I just want say that again I know that the Lord will be with you on Thursday with this surgery and we will pray that all the results will be good. The Lord will also get you through tomorrow so just keep trusting him. God bless you tonight and tomorrow. Gord and Noreen.

Kitty and I had fun yesterday. First we had pizza and then I got my car washed inside and out...windows washed, swept and a nice car freshener. Even the tires are black instead of yucky gray. Kitty wanted to see James Whitcomb Riley's birthplace and museum. It wasn't open but she saw his home and museum building. He wrote 'Li'l Orphant Annie' and other poems. I lived in Greenfield for 30 years and I have never been in the home!!
Then we went to an antique consignment place. Huge and fun to say, 'I remember Mom having one of those' and such. I showed her where I used to live...well, the space. The mobile home there is different and I told her to picture flowers in the yard, gray porch, gray deck, gray swing under the missing maple tree and the mobile home gray and white!
We shopped at 'Everything's a Dollar' and the huge Hallmark store. By then we were a tad hungry and thirsty so we both had Kids Meals at Cracker Barrel. Then home. A very fun day but I sure was tired. I hadn't been on my feet that much since last summer at least.
Today is therapy for Ivalou and then grocery shopping. Cloudy, misty rain day. Nice day to curl up with a book but.....:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Etta Sue, sounds like you had a nice day with Kitty. And today looks to be another full one for you.
I got a call yesterday from one of the ladies at church - retired and single - inviting me for a boiled ham dinner tomorrow. Now, I don't often turn down a free meal, so of course I accepted! I'll put the bread machine to work and take a loaf of Blarney Stone Bread with me.
Hi everyone. We have a lovely day today and it is suppose to get up to 53 degrees. More rain tomorrow and Friday.
The contractors are here putting in the storm windows on our sun porch. They really have a nice day to do the job. I think it will make a big difference in the porch and we will be able to keep it a lot cleaner and thus use it more. The storm windows have screens so can be opened when the weather is nice and when it is hot, except when they are here mowing the yard. They should finish up the job today.
We didn't go to Bible study today as Pat didn't want to push the back problem she has had for several days. She is feeling much better after several very miserable days. Nice to see her feeling better.
Jeanne, I agree with you in not wanting to miss an invite for a meal. It is so enjoyable spending time with a friend. What is Blarney Stone Bread? Never heard of it.
Etta Sue, it is interesting that we seldom take in things close at hand. We experienced this in Washington, DC when we lived there and only saw the tour things when we had company.
Ruth Ann, aren't those grocery carts handy when you live in an apartment arrangement. We often use one when we are helping Stacey get in groceries or other items. Seems like we have a truck full about each time we visit her.
Gord, now that my wife is feeling better I think things are going well at the moment. Our daughter is anxiously awaiting the call to report back to work.
Janet, I agree with you on the warm milk. In fact, I don't like drinking milk.
Judy, glad you were able to get the van fixed for a very good price and that Kassie was able to get the medicine she needs.
JudyB: Sorry, I missed or forgot that Kassie was bitten by a dog. Bless her heart - I am so sorry that she has so many upset stomach problems with antibiotics. I have a touchy stomach too but I am drinking soy instead of milk, eating my yogurt with probiotics & even eating a cereal for breakfast with probiotic digestive in it. All of this seems to help - just dread it when people ask us over for dinner anymore or even to go out to meet.
Jeanne: Blarney bread sounds good too - I have been baking Challah because it turns out well in this altitude and tastes good. All of my neighbors really like it. - And, here I can barely eat any bread any more :'(
Etta Sue: How fun for you and Kitty. I could have walked beside you two and said many of the same things - we would all be very rich if we had kept all of that antique stuff - isn't it weird. I sure never see the antique things of office supplies anymore. Do you remember the old copy machines & typing on the big purple things that fit into the rollers and then making one copy at a time? I do. Yuk. Glad that you got out.
Larry: Praying for smoother days ahead for you & the family. It sounds like you are going through a better time right now.
Furnace man coming this morning. I have to stay here & listen. Not happy. They have to put a pvc pipe through my sewing room closet for this more efficient furnace & I am so disgusted about messing with my space. Then, we will have tofix the ceiling ourselves - yah sure. It is a little thing to be annoyed about.
I worked this morning, went by and picked up some Jello so I can have something to eat today. We took the Cruiser back to the garage, as they didn't get the headlight problem fixed last time. It is really hard to get to the area of the problem, but the headlight on the right blinks off and on; and the bright lights indicater winks, anb even the turn signal arrows are going crazy. So I hope they get it fixed this time.
It is gloomy here, good day for a nap or reading. Darrel is reading. I want to watch the 700 Club, and if I sit in my recliner, I will miss it. :sleepy: So I am waiting for a while before I get so comfortable! ;)
Thanks for the kind words, Ruth Ann and Gord. This ol' gal will be mighty happy when tomorrow is a memory---IF all goes well.
They predict more snow for us today and tomorrow. Time will tell..........
Larry, the storm windows will be nice for you. You should get more use from your porch, and it will be bright and sunny, still. Enjoy!
See you all later!
Janet: Prayers for the healing touch for you tomorrow.
We ordered a furnace and in the nick of time as the furnace went off again this afternoon but Don did get it started - I think that is 4 times this month & nighttime temps are in the low 20's almost nightly.
:) Carol. I hope that you will get your furnace installed very soon as it is awful to not have it working. Keep warm
God bles to all and good night.
The house is finally warm. It has been a struggle for some unknown reason to warm up the house.
Elizabeth came home from school sick today. This is so unusual for her she is rarely sick. She will stay home tomorrow and give her a chance to recuperate.
Kass has decided to play the cello in the band. The rate she is going she will have fad a try at all the instruments before she is dome. Her teacher has told her to minor in music. She constantly hears music in her head....that is something I don't have...the music in my head that is.
I have read all the posts and prayer is going up for those in need. Janet take care this will be over soon.
Good morning, friends,
I'm looking at the beautiful rainbow picture on our Random Image display. What a treat to see the images as they come up!
God bless us all today is my prayer.
Ruth Ann
Carol, this is not a good time of the year to have furnace problems. :( (Although, I guess any other time of year you wouldn't know about it.) I hope you can get the new one installed quickly.
Judy, of course we knew it was the music and not the head that you are missing. :D
Another day of "partly cloudy" and temperatures in the low to mid-20's, but there doesn't seem to be any snow expected for the next week or so. I guess it's all being detoured this year to North Carolina where I'm hoping to move in order to escape severe winter weather. ;D
Hi everyone. Just back from coffee and walking a mile at the gym. It will start raining here before long and continue with heavy rain throughout the night. We are on the south part of the big storm going through the midwest and mid-Atlantic states. We'll take the rain.
We got our windows installed yesterday, which was a lovely day here. They look great and I am very happy with them. We should now be able to keep this area reasonably clean and it should also make our house a little warmer as there is a door from the family room onto the porch and know we get some air in through that opening, especially when we open it. The contractor is coming back this morning to put on some trim to the new storm door as he wasn't satisfied with the trim that came with the door. He is very particular. He also put in a new thermostat on our furnace that is digital. It was nice to get up to a reasonably warm house this morning as it had come on and raised the temperature a little before I got up.
Nothing else on the schedule for today that involves being away from the house. I do need to make a birthday card and mail for my sister, whose birthday is on the 6th. I also need to see if I can find some software to setup a simple accounting system. I have become treasurer of an organization and this would be helpful.
Judy, nice that Kassie is interested in different instruments. Maybe she will be a band director someday.
Carol, sorry that they have to impact your sewing closet for the new furnace. I am surprised they don't use the existing duct work. I am sure you will enjoy the new and reliable warmth.
Janet, I expect by the time you visit CP again your dreaded procedure will be over and you will be able to eat normally again. Hope they get your car fixed. So frustrating when you have to repeatedly take a car in for repair of the same problem.
Jeanne You are a riot. :roflBig:
I have Elizabeth home today.
I believe God has given Kass a gift for music, I am praying she uses it to His glory.
Be back later.

At the Antique consignment shop, we both remarked of how many refrigerator containers there were. The rectangle glass dishes that holds maybe a couple of cups of stuff and a clear glass flat lid. So many colors and designs. I remember Mom having several that were the see-thru green glass.
I just got an email from Kitty. We are going swimming today since a winter storm watch is tonight thru Saturday. I hope we can stop where I can purchase some blank DVD's to burn a movie on for the Women's Retreat from church. I wasted 3 CD's...won't play on my DVD player even when I chose the category....except it is a video and not an audio burn. :idiot:
So I had better get busy and run>>>>>>>>>>>!!<: )) ))><<~~> <: )) ))><<~~< <: )) ))><<~~<

Good Morning everyone. I don't have much to say. Praying for Janet. My procedure is the 24th. Larry your sisters birthday is the same day as mine. I am getting PSP 12 Ultimate for a gift I already ordered it. I have the trial version that I have been using and I love this version. Overcast here but no rain so far probably later, I will try to get in the dogs walks, I need to walk as bad as they do. I don't go out much except to the store, exercise class and the dogs walks.
We are off to puppy-sit and granddaughter play over the weekend. Tomorrow, we will have coffee with a couple we knew at church in Fort Collins, then I meet with only one of my three friends while Don meets with a friend at the same time. Whew - it took some arranging. Somehow the road only goes one way.
Larry: The code requires an extra exhaust outlet when you buy the most efficient furnace. We won't be able to fix the long trench in the ceiling though and the furnace people just leave it open. Maybe one of the boys can help in that regard. You might be in the next winter storm? I can see that my friend in North Carolina will be preparing as they always lose power.
JudyB: Our grandson who plays the trumpet has been advised to take up other instruments as well and he has a keyboard & a guitar & he believes that other music is helping him with the trumpet as well. Isn't that interesting?
Marilyn: Walks are so important to us as well, keeps our BP down and it is good to look at things and be grateful.
I'M HOME!!! And 100% healthy!! (I KNEW I didn't need that procedure!) It wasn't at all bad, Larry--you were right. But after hearing of ten people whose colons were punctured by the same butcher/doctor who almost killed Beth, can you blame me for being apprehensive? So I am breathing huge sighs of relief.
We had a lovely snow here, heavy and wet; so the 60 mile drive to Liberal was not fun in the early morning hours. But coming home only a few hours later, the roads were completely clear! Praise God. We did see three cars off in the ditch, though.
I am supposed to just be lazy the rest of the day. Nice to have that instruction. ;)
They fixed the car again, hope this took care of the problem. We went on into town and got it when we came home. I am not supposed to drive today, but I did drive one car home. Rather difficult for Darrel to drive both of them. ;)
Carol, hope the furnace switch goes quickly and smoothly. Sorry about your sewing closet and the ceiling problem. Grrr.
I think I feel a nap coming on---and I even have instructions to take one!! Yippee!
Janet isn't it good to KNOW you are ok? I am always glad of good news. like that.
Carol today we just were presented with 6 beautiful puppies!. Mommy and babies are healthy!
Have to go. Will be back later!
Janet, it's good to know you've had the test and that everything is as it should be. I wish someone would instruct me to take a nap. Of course, I don't need instructions. :D
Judy, what breed are the puppies?
They are cocker spaniels. 4 boys and 2 girls. They are so beautiful. mama is resting quietly, I have to clean out her box but I will wait till she goes out to do that. She was very relaxed through the whole thing! Never have seen anything go so smoothly.
It's amazing how different dogs are about their puppies. My brother-in-law's beagle wouldn't let anyone near her babies so when our German Shephard had hers I was very apprehensive. But she was so proud of those puppies and just loved it when anyone would pick one up and coo over it.
Hi, friends,
It's a bit early for me today, but I have an errand to run that will take most of the morning, and I just wanted to come here to bask in the love of our Father and friends before I go.
Two friends and I thoroughly cleaned the main floor of our church yesterday in preparation for a large wedding that's supposed to be tomorrow night with rehearsal tonight. The church is tiny, so almost all of us donate considerable time and effort to help reduce expenses for the church.
We three (nearly 77, nearly 70, and nearly 60) alternately cleaned vigorously, sat and rested, cleaned more, had good fellowship and even sang a hymn or two while there. After 5 hours, we all went home - extremely tired, but very grateful to have been able to do this service for our Heavenly Father.
Today, I awakened clear eyed, and as my dad used to say "bushytailed", ready for another day.
But, first time for Bible reading and prayer.
Much love to everyone.
Hi everyone from a very wet and chilly Georgia. We had heavy rain most of the night and it continues this morning. I think it will ease off later today but we sure have had a lot of rain. I did go to coffee at the senior center and then we walked the mile at the church gym. Now plan to stay home the rest of the day.
Janet, glad your procedure is over as know you really dreaded it but it is nice to get that report that all is well. I was told the test need not be repeated for 10 years. I think the driving thing is to protect the doctor or hospital in case something happens.
Carol, thanks for the explanation on the furnace.
Etta Sue, you said you ruined three cd's. If these were cd's and not dvd's I think that explains why you couldn't get them to work. To burn a dvd you need to use a dvd. You can burn music files on CDs and they will play in a dvd player but cannot burn movies on cd's. However, you can burn music files, such as mp3's on dvd's as well as cd's. Sure I told you what you probably already know or provided more information than you needed.

Yes, Larry! I finally figured it out that you can only put videos on a DVD to play in a DVD player! I didn't ruin the CD's...anyone can play them in a laptop...maybe that is because the original .wmv is on the laptop, I don't know. And the third CD, I didn't use. But while Kitty and I were out, I purchased some DVD+R's and I have the DVD all ready to give to the minister's wife Sunday. And yes, it played in my DVD player.
All day yesterday the news and the radio were saying that we were in for a winter storm watch starting last evening and would be really bad this morning. They were about 12 hours late. All night...nothing. I didn't get up until near 9am and nothing. I even walked out to the garage and it was spitting tiny snow! Then within a half hour everything is covered and it is all white out there. And it is coming from the east. Always when we have a storm from the east, it will be a big one!! I think we are to get 5-7" of snow. South of us it was rain turning to snow. We just got the snow so it won't be as slick for those who are out in it. The bad part is people went to work today in good weather and now it will be rough getting home tonight.
Kitty and I went to the swim shop yesterday for her to get a new suit and I got some goggles. I have noticed that the chlorine bothers my eyes for a few days after swimming. The goggles solved that problem.
And I have an air purifier that was Mom's. All of a sudden it was giving out an unpleasant odor. Ivalou has one also and hers was doing the same thing. It seems that her son and DIL was selling them for awhile and when we were at their home Monday, I was telling Jeff about mine. He said when it is on Manual that it is something with the ozone and does give off an odor...quickly takes away offensive odors like onions and fish but gets offensive. So he said to put it on Auto and that should take care of it. I did and it did!! I slept so good with it on. Of course, it is useless to burn candles now but....
The snow is so pretty. Big flakes floating to the ground. Sometimes it gets fierce and blows sideways and then it calms down and floats to the ground. We noticed for the last few days an abundance of cardinals and other birds feeding. Maybe they knew this storm was coming...(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ECrosses.gif&hash=a20248754210521e37b5468eb257de739e5571d0)

Etta Sue, I'm glad you got the CD/DVD situation straightened out. It can be so confusing. Some will play only on the computer, some on either computer or DVD player and TV and some only on the DVD player and TV. I hope you come through the storm with no adverse effects.
It is such a strange winter. Last year we had snow way above normal and this year there is a huge patch of bare ground in my back yard.
Well the funniest thing I have have seen with puppies. For 2 days I haven't been able to figure out why there is a lot of water on the floor around the water dish. I thought they were spilling the dish, even though it has a heavy bottom.
Well I heard this strange noise like water running but not quite. I looked around the corner and the pups were "digging" in the water splashing it all over the floor. It was so cute/funny to watch. They are going to be true water dogs!
They will be hard to part with. but they have to go.
:roflBig:
Judy, I can just picture that!
Ruth Ann, you are an inspiration to me! You are a blessing everywhere you go. God bless you.
It is a pretty, but chilly day here, and most of our snow has melted. Now they say more is to come on Sunday. That's the day I am driving my sister Jeanie to Pratt for her knee replacement surgery early on Monday. So of course I hope the storm won't keep us from going. She has been waiting for this for a long time now.
Larry, I think things should be done to protect the patient, not the doctor and the hospital! But you are probably right. ???
I need to get a lot of stuff done, because I will be away from home several days next week.

Actually, I think it is because you are still "under the influence" and possibly not as alert as you should be to drive. That's also the reason for them telling you to "take it easy" for the rest of the day. IMO
 I completely missed the word 'driving' in Larry's message. My answer was predicated on the thought (in my head) that he was speaking of the 5-10 years to repeat the procedure!! MY BAD!!
Actually I did know why they said not to drive! :-[
About the DVD R I found out the disappointing way that I had to have a driver (for a cost) installed inorder to transfer pictures, the CD R's are fine but I guess the driver is already installed.
We are enjoying our beautiful winter days.

Hi everyone and Happy Birthday, Marilyn. Wow, Jeanne, that is a beautiful birthday card. I love roses. It looks like you could pluck if off the page.
No sun here yet but not raining and didn't seem too cold this morning. We will be gone this morning and going out to lunch and then will have a quiet afternoon. I have a lot of work to do setting up the records needed for my new duties as treasurer of an organization. Once I get it organized it shouldn't be a difficult job.
Etta Sue, hope you weren't covered over with snow. I was in contact several times last evening with my friend in the DC area and he said they are being covered over and they were stopping the subways at 11 pm.
Judy, little puppies are so cute. There antics are really fun to watch.
Thank you Jeanne and Larry

Well, I won't be going anywhere unless someone plows out my driveway! I have 3-4' tall drift as long as the house...about 30'! Ivalou has a drift as high as the bottom of her windows the length of her house! I don't know how much snow has fallen. The wind is terrible and causes the wet snow to drift. But thank God, we have electricity. On Facebook two people within two miles of me haven't had electricity all night. One is a Veterinarian and did get to the clinic where there is electricity. My lights went off 3 times last evening and right back on. Funny, not all the lights went out...just some! Like different circuits of the house went out. :uglystupid:
The roads seem to be pretty good. Traffic on my road is running great and on the highway about a quarter of a mile away. It is bright and sunny, too! But the wind...blistery!
Just would like to go to church tomorrow. I haven't missed a Sunday for over two years but I know God would understand if I can't make it. o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0

It appears we might not get the snow they predicted for our area. I guess time will tell!
I have worked my shift, went and got Beth a sandwich she wanted from Sonic, now am home and have the laundry going. I need to pack for the trip to Pratt, so never run out of things needing done.
Etta Sue, glad you have power, and are inside where it's warm.
Hi, Larry!

Al, Etta Sue, Janet, and Jane
Happy Birthday Marilyn. This is the first I have been here since last night.... Wishes are sincere all the same. I didn't know your bday was on our anniversary!!
This has been a rough day. I have posted 2 updates in Prayer and Praise. We had a visit with Jean....and a quick hello with Bob, John's cousin.
I was up and driving by 8:15 am and didn't get back home till after 7:30 pm, only to find out that Megan was going to hospital. That turned out ok though. John has pushed to get home and is tired as well. We are heading to bed early.
:hbirthday: Marilyn!!
I'm hoping to see JudyB's pups on Tuesday.
We have had a lovely sunny day up here. Usually we have that snow that you southerners are getting, up here; however, this year it's just is not reaching us!!
I do bookkeeping for two businesses, a resource centre and our church, so my time, recently, has been very full (but I love it!!)
Looking forward to that Ruth!
thank you Judy and Ruth for the birthday greeting. I had a wonderful 70th.
Happy Anniversary Judy and Bonesy.

I got my drive cleared yesterday around 6pm. Nephew Jeff opened it up for me with his ATV with a blade on it. He did a great job.
Now I can go to church, to the Souper Bowl party at church tonight, take the trash tomorrow, take Ivalou to rehab and go to Guild.
Couldn't have done any of that with 3-4' of snow on the drive.
The emergency unit went by this morning at 7am. Went to a house about a quarter of a mile away. There is a drive off of my road with about 8 homes on it. I don't know anyone that lives there. Just pray that everything is okay. I didn't see smoke so it must have been a health emergency.
Ivalou just called and she isn't going to church. Too cold! Only 9°. Said she probably won't go to the Souper Bowl party either. ~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@

Hi everyone. We finally are seeing the sun this morning. I am ready and waiting for the time to leave for church. I was thinking the choir wasn't singing today but one of the member just called and said that we were. I had missed rehearsal on Wednesday night. We will be going over the anthem a couple of times this morning before going into the sanctuary.
I don't plan to watch all the Super Bowl hype this afternoon but will tune in the game when it starts. Just hope it is a good competitive game.
I heard from my friend in Maryland that they had about 3 feet of snow where he lives and it will take him several days to dig out. I heard they didn't plan on clearing any of the neighborhood streets before tomorrow afternoon.
Etta Sue, glad you have been dug out. I spoke with my sister yesterday as it was her birthday. She said they have probably the second most snow they have seen since they went to live in Iowa over 40 years ago.
Time to start a new page and a new week HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=9394.0)
