Morning Devotional...

Seeking the Savior

Simeon [said], "Can I stay alive until I see him?"

The Magi [said], "Saddle up the camels. We aren't stopping until we find him."

The shepherds [said], "Let's go.... Let's see."

They wanted the Savior. They wanted to see Jesus.

They were earnest in their search. One translation renders Hebrews 11:6: "God ... rewards those who earnestly seek him" (NIV).

Another reads: "God rewards those who search for him" (Phillips).

And another: "God ... rewards those who sincerely look for him" (TLB).

I like the King James translation: "He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" .

Diligently—what a great word. Be diligent in your search. Be hungry in your quest, relentless in your pilgrimage. Let this book be but one of dozens you read about Jesus and this hour be but one of hundreds in which you seek him. Step away from the puny pursuits of possessions and positions, and seek your king.

Don't be satisfied with angels. Don't be content with stars in the sky. Seek him out as the shepherds did. Long for him as Simeon did. Worship him as the wise men did....Risk whatever it takes to see Christ.

God rewards those who seek him. Not those who seek doctrine or religion or systems or creeds. Many settle for these lesser passions, but the reward goes to those who settle for nothing less than Jesus himself.

What a wonderful way to begin my day with our Lord! Thank you for reminding us to be diligent in our search for a deeper relationship with our Lord.

May each of us be richly blest as we worship today.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes, Instead, it should be that of you inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.  1Peter 3:3-4

The Virtuous women is she really that hard to find?  Can we Really match up to her?  Does God expect us to?

I thought I could for a long time. I thought I did for a long time.  I thought God expected me to for a long time.

I have been talking more about this on my blog.  A struggle I dealt with for a long time being a Mother, Business Owner and a Pastors wife.  I have been posting things like this since I started the blog a few weeks ago.  But God has lead me to tell my story.  So tomorrow my testimony please pray for me.

youbejesustoday.blogspot.com

I also explain how I came up with the name for the blog.  Everyone have a blessed week.

Thanks for the new devotional, Jeanne.  Max Lucado is so good at alliteration--I love that sentence:  "Step away from the puny pursuits of possessions and positions...."   :)

Marlo, I will go read your blog.  My grandson who designed my web page told me I need to be blogging.  I know ZERO about that stuff, so I need to learn, and I'll bet yours is a good example for me.

Etta Sue, I certainly will autograph each copy I send to my dear friends here!  My pastor told me this morning that the church will have a pre-release event for me and Beth.  I am so happy about that.  The church has grown so much, and a lot of the new people don't know Beth or anything about her condition, nor that she hasn't always been this way.  It will be a teaching opportunity.

And Marlo, our new ladies group is named "31 Wannabees" for that chapter!  Many ladies have signed up, so I hope it will be a great group, and we will all learn and grow a lot!

I started fasting this morning, and what does my dear hubby say a few minutes ago?  "I guess that means you don't want the T-bone I bought for you, huh?"  :(  Should I start tomorrow?  (Famous last words..)

Hi everyone.  I didn't get here this morning and then when we got home from church and going out to eat with our church friends I was tired so rested for a couple of hours but did read through the postings while resting.  However, it is difficult to write much of a post with my phone.  I forgot I could have used my e-book reader browser.  I spent probably 6 hours yesterday working on the Golden Game web site and got up and worked another 2 or three hours this morning.  I still have a couple of more hours of work to finish getting everything up to date and checking all of the links to be sure they are still good.

Our minister started a new 7 week series of sermons based on the 12-step programs with today's sermon about being powerless over sin and putting our lives into the care of God.  I think it was be a good series based on the sermon today.  It did seem a bit odd to be sitting in the congregation rather than in the choir but I sure enjoyed the anthem they sang today.

I watched the Atlanta Falcon's lose their game to the New York Giants so their season is over for this year.

Our church held our annual commitment ceremony. What comfort I find in John Wesley's words through that ceremony he wrote.

And, our pastor also said a few words that really struck home with me. I have a tendency to be a perfectionist, so doing things little by little sometimes intimidate me. He told of a young man who was to work for a rancher and take down a fence. When he got to the fence it was really high, and he told the rancher he didn't see HOW he could take that fence down. The rancher replied, "It's really simple, son, just go board by board and before you know it, the job will be finished." That really struck home with me. So, I'll have lots to ponder on this week.

Marlo, I've copied your blog site address, and will go there to read shortly.

Love to all of y'all,
Ruth Ann

Thank you for the devotional Jeanne. A good reminder for us.
And thank you for the prayers for my family (see Prayer and Praise - My Dad). It's been good to know that others are praying.
I'm getting ready to go back to work tomorrow after being off for the last couple of weeks ... it has been a good holiday, and we've been able to spend time with family. Back into a busy time:)

Hi everyone.  It was a very rainy night and suppose to be quite foggy this morning with more rain throughout the day.  Yesterday evening I was able to complete the updating of the Senior Golden Games website as finished the rules and did a general house cleaning of the site.  I tried to check every link to be sure they were still good and did some reorganization of a couple of pages.  Today the big activity this morning is to take my car to the body shop and pick up a rental car to use until my car is ready again.  At lunch today my men's group is going to a new seafood place that recently opened called "Aw Shucks" and this evening I have a meeting to attend so it is going to be a relatively busy day.  I was sorry to see the Atlanta Falcon's lose the game yesterday but they didn't play well.  The Denver/Pittsburgh football game was sure a good one.

Ruth Ann, your comments about removing the board fence remind me that every walk starts with one step.  I guess this is the same idea.

Marlo, I will check out your blog spot.  Always good to get the doctor appointments over sooner rather than later.

Hi Betty, I see you will be getting back into your work routine today after enjoying a couple of weeks away.  I was always ready to get back as didn't want to miss anything.

Good morning, everyone!  It's a beautiful day!     Of course, it's dark and cloudy and you might even say dreary, but it's the day the Lord has made, so it's beautiful!

Betty, it's good to see you posting here - hope we see more of you.  You can always be assured of prayers from this group - for your family and for you.

Ruth Ann, I hope you had a good, restful night.   :)

Larry, there's such a feeling of satisfaction, isn't there, when a job like that web site is completed.  And a real feeling of gratitude to that loving Father who gives us the ability.

This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Good thoughts to start our day, from Larry and Jeanne.  Oh, how good and pleasant it is to be among friends!  Thank you, Lord, for this place where we can be among friends and just be ourselves.

I have gotten a few things done, much more waiting for me.  I will be SO happy when we finally get things put back into their proper places.  The garage is still a maze.....

Larry, your  post reminded me of the country song 'I love a rainy night' which drives me crazy when I hear it, because that one phrase is repeated over and over and over and.......  But your posts are always welcome, I am just teasing you now.  Good you got all that computer work done, always a good feeling to complete a task.

Nothing on my calendar that I have to do today, so I can work all day and not worry about appointments!

Have a great day, kids!   ;)

I wonder how much longer this will last?  I live on a country road with several homes on it.  But the last few days have been lots of bicycle riders and joggers!  They must be out exercising for the New Year.  I have no idea who these people are, where they come from or where they are going!  One jogger just went by...hat, gloves, sweat shirt, shorts and running shoes and it is only 31 degrees!  Question!  Has anyone ever seen a jogger with a smile on his face?   ???  Me, neither!

Marlo ~ I do believe you are my closest neighbor on CP.  You are just down the road from me!   <3

Small groups was fun last night.  We met at the minister's home.  It was about the same people as last year with some not there and one new couple.  Course, we all know each other!  One guy bought his wife the Kindle Fire and has free postage for a month from Amazon.com so he is ordering our books from there.  All I know we are going to study about heaven.  We are going to meet at 4-6pm.  I told them that is cutting into my Sunday nap time but I can handle it.  I will just change nap day to Monday!   :)

Then since I signed up for two Small Groups, the other Small Group is going to meet next Sunday evening and I will alternate groups.  So I don't know what we will study in that one yet.

I am thinking I would like to have them all at my home.  Group 1 one week and Group 2 the next week.  Clean house 8 days!  I can handle that!  And the ladies will all help furnish the food.

There goes the jogger the other way!!  Still not smiling!

Tonight is Church Council meeting.  I am doing some laundry.  The fur-girls are hungry.  They know it is noon time and time to eat!!

I thought I had posted something yesterday if only to check in. I see that I didn't. Not much new around here, well I guess there is, The sun is shining and it is not raining. It is a beautiful cold day here on the Oregon coast at 39°.

Larry I got a kick our of Sandy last  night, on another forum she posted that she was going to San Diego and make a sharp right to head for Texas.  I told her she would need a boat if she went right and to turn left. When she came here her GPS told her to turn left on my street, nope that was the wrong way and I had to talk her to my house, I was standing out in the middle of my street in the rain giving her directions.

Wel I am off to Yoga class shortly so I better change my clothes.

I was another of those happy Tebow fans last night!  Way to go, Tim!

Ruth Ann:  When did you get a roommate?  The old lady you mentioned.  Hugs to you.

Grateful to be able to walk - it is so refreshing.  I never did jog but rode a bike for years until a fall.  Our family members do jog and or walk so that is good.  In my mother's little Minnesota town, there was a woman who walked daily way past her 100th. birthday so we all thought it must be good.

;D Carol I think she is unjustly referring to herself!!  "We" tend to do that, at times.

It's snowing here and after spending two hours on the road, already, I decided not to go to a meeting tonight; first because of the snow and, secondly, because it would mean another hour battling the snow!!

Etta Sue: I love having visitors because it gives me the opportunity to give the house a little more than "A lick and a promise"

My son is back from Europe and said that the Aerosinusitis he suffered on the way was not as bad, on the way back.

Hello, Betty.  Good to have you with us!  Tell us a little about yourself, your family, your interests, your job, whatever you would like us to know.  We're a pretty friendly bunch in here.

Hi Janet, I can add some more stuff to what I put in the Newcomers area: I grew up in a Christian home, and received the Lord as my Saviour when I was very young. No regrets - so good to know the Lord through the years. I am married to a wonderful Christian man, have three children, and six grandchildren. We're really enjoying all of them. I'm probably going to retire in June, and am looking forward to spending some more time in photography. I've worked as a teacher, and am now an Assistive Technology consultant working in Special Education ... and have enjoyed working in this area.
I've enjoyed taking photos, and use a Canon T1i

Although I am a teacher, I'm working as a consultant for my School Board. I oversee all of the specialized equipment for the board - from computers and assistive technology, ipods, etc., to change tables and toileting systems, to FM Soundfield systems and Personal FM systems. I have an assistant who purchases the equipment I approve, and have 3 Educational Assistants who do computer training through the board, and I work with 2 computer technicians. They are a wonderful team to work with, which has probably made it much harder for me to decide about retiring in June. I'm still not 100% sure about retiring.

Except that ... I don't have enough time for photography, family, etc.. We live in cottage country, and are on a lake ... so we get to enjoy the lake, the bush behind, and the sky above. In the summer we go for short vacations in our travel trailer. This has also been fun. Our family really enjoy coming to the "cottage" in the summer. There are teachers in each of the families, so we get to spend time together more often in the summer.

Jeanne Lee - Thank you for the prayers. I've really appreciated the encouragement from everyone.

Yes, that ole lady is ME!

Tonight I'm plenty tired. Waited in line (no seats for the handicapped) to get my license plate stickers for this year - an hour of standing is far too much, so the rest of the day was put on hold.

Y'all have a great resst of the day with our Lord.

Love y'all,
Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  Another warm day yesterday and just a little bit more rain.  It is suppose to get into the lower 60s today with afternoon showers.  I did get my car to the repair shop yesterday and they called to say they had found more damage when they removed the bumper and were going to have to replace the bumper rather than just fix it.  The good news is that there was no structural damage to the car seen.  It may be 5-7 days before I can get the car back.  I have a big Mercury Grand Marquis as a rental and have had to park it outside as it is too long to fit well in my garage.   I did watch the college Championship football game last night, which wasn't very exciting as LSU didn't seem to be into the game.  I have a light schedule today with a quick stop at the store this morning and a meeting and then the rest of the day is mine.

Etta Sue, I certainly wouldn't be smiling if I were jogging.  That is hard work.  It is nice to see you so involved in your church groups and activities and it sounds like you are really enjoying it.

Marilyn, sometimes those GPS system maps are just not right.  However, they are still really amazing when you consider the technology involved.  I just read this morning that one of the computer manufacturers will soon have a monitor where you will control the cursor with the movement of your eyes, which will eliminate a lot of the scrolling and cursor movement with the mouse.

Betty, sounds like you have a very responsible job with a lot of duties.  However, retirement is very enjoyable, at least it has been for me and I have been retired a long time.

Ruth Ann, we have a great system in Georgia where you take a number when you come in the door and then sit down until your number is called.  There are no lines at the windows and there are a lot of windows.  You can also go through the drive in window to get your sticker for the tags and pay your tax on you car.  I wouldn't like to have to stand for an hour either.

Happy Tuesday, Y'all!   ;)

Betty, I surely couldn't do your job!  I am very technically challenged!  Thanks for sharing with us, and we look forward to seeing lots of your photos when you have more time to do the things you enjoy the most.

I don't have any great news today, still waiting on the arrival of the books!  Then I will have lots to do, getting them packaged, addressed and sent!  Thanks to all who have expressed your desire for one, I appreciate it SO much.

The house cleaner lady is here this morning for her bi-weekly two hours.  We haven't been at home the last two times she was scheduled, so there is plenty for her to do in spite of my efforts.  I will be so glad when the dust isn't so bad.  You would think it would be less by now, as the construction is almost finished.  :P

See you later!

Good Morning everyone  Janet how much is your book? I'm limited on funds due to doctor bills, but I would love to read it.

Hello Mrs. Betty It is nice to hear from you.  Being a teacher is not an easy job I truly feel that the teachers in this country do not get paid enough to teach out children.  So I would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

Etta Sue I believe so.  I lived in Harrison Indiana for awhile when I was going up.  Loved it beautiful country.

Larry,  you have the same name as my husband, but i think I would rather have you weather than ours it rains, gets cold, gets warm , no snow really yet.

Jeanne Lee I pray you are having a wonderful day.

Marilyn I pray you are getting some rest.  As one who only sleeps 2 to 3 hours a night I know what needing rest means.

My Prayers with everyone today.

Good Morning I have been over to the K-mart parking lot where the Pelican Bay Food Share was handing out cases if the small Ice cream sandwiches and fruit smoothies, I put the Ice Cream sandwiches in the freezer and took a bunch of the fruit smoothies to a family across the street. and will deliver some more to another neighbor when she gets home. There are 8 smoothies to a case, I had my freezer full of them from the last time they gave them away. so those are also going to the neighbors.

I have to go over to the mall to pick up the bracelet Keith gave me for Christmas , I had to have it made smaller as I have such small wrists anything in a regular size is too big.

Harrison, Indiana?  I had to look on Google Earth.  I had never heard of Harrison before.  I find it is northwest of Terre Haute.  I've been to and through Terre Haute many times.  It's not too far from me...maybe 70 miles!

I have been busy today.  Up and in the pool at the rehab center within the hour.  Left a Chemo Wrap at the hospital and got two huge paper bags of yarn for the Crochet Angels to make into Chemo Wraps.  Went to the grocery.  Ate at La Casada.  Went to the bank.  Got a cappuccino at the convenience store.

Put everything away.  Changed sheets on the bed.  Read my Bible devotions.  Dryer is almost done and I am almost caught up online!

Then it is crochet and TV and try not to forget to put the trash out tonight!

I got a salad for dinner tonight so that will be a no-brainer!

Hello everyone!! I have to catch up on reading, however I wanted to let you know that JudyB's computer is in for repairs and the laptop she is using will not access the internet. She sends her love.

I have been off for a couple of days as my satellite dish was snow covered. I just came in from cleaning it off.

Will be back later to catch up, then off tomorrow as I have a trip to Toronto scheduled.

Good morning one and all to enter this forum today. I will be going to the gym shortly. then the rest of the morning I will be here at home, I have to shampoo my hair too cold here this morning to be going  anyplace with wet hair or even damp hair. I made all the parts for a new web page yesterday, now I have to put it all in to html form so I can  upload it. I already have an html script  that comes with the lesson I just need to make the changes  to fit my images and put in the code for the music. So much for staying off the computer but I am doing it in little increments, (being on the computer) I still have some pain in my shoulder.

The grass is frozen this morning and it is only 36° right now. Grubby (cat) was out all night and I was so worried about him. I looked for him last night and this morning, he finally showed up on the back deck looking in the slider while we were having breakfast.

Us Hoosiers are very thankful for the weather this season.  We have only had two covering snows.  The first one was gone by noon.  The second one did last a day or two.  I saw one snowman in Lapel and wondered then where they got all that snow to make the snowman.  I don't think we have had any temps in the teens yet!  Yay!!

Janet ~ I know you are anxiously awaiting all the books!  I can imagine the feeling you will have to hold the first book in your hands and leaf through the printed pages!  Video camera time!

Marlo ~ Way back in the latter 80's my husband and I used to frequent the Covered Bridge Festival and stopped at all the flea market stands from Veedersburg to Rockville.  Lots of memories of those trips.  We would frequent US41 Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and the festival.  I collected clear crystal things and most of them came from flea markets.

Gord ~ Always good to see your posts.  I know how you feel about being the caregiver.  I have pulled away from Ivalou some to let her have her independence.  My cousins were shocked to hear that Ivalou drives.  One said she was surprised her doctor said she could with the way her arm and leg is.  Well, the doctor hasn't said she could drive but hasn't said she couldn't either!  So she does!

Jeanne ~ How's the weather in NY?  Have you had much snow?

RuthV ~ Sounds like the snow is north and us in the south like it that way!  Do tell JudyB we miss her posts.

I was surprised yesterday when I got a phone call and it was a cousin saying that she and her two sisters were at my sister's house and to come on over and visit.  So in my lounging pj's I went over to Ivalou's (you can do that way out in the country) and we all had a nice visit.  (New members...if you click on my name, scroll down to the map, zoom in, you will see three houses on the same side of the road.  I am the one with the white deck, my sister, Ivalou is next to me and my brother, Kaye Don is next to her!)

In the evening it was TV and crocheting.

This morning, it is gloomy and yucking with rain.  Just enough to make things wet!  But I am making some bread in the bread machine that Kitty loaned me.  It sure is noisy!  Louder than my washing machine!!  Sounds like it is on its last leg!  I am thinking if I really like the bread and really would like a bread machine, I will not buy this one from Kitty!  I guess in about 3 hours I should have fresh bread!

Edit:  Good morning, Marilyn.  Your temp is about the same as mine but the grass isn't frozen...it's wet from rain here!

Etta Sue, our weather is very unusual this year.  We've had a couple of very cold days and nights and then back up to above average for a while.  We've had small snow squalls and flurries but nothing has lasted and today the ground is bare.  However...  it's supposed to start snowing around midnight tonight and then tomorrow during the day change to sleet and freezing rain.  Then more above average temps until the Saturday and Sunday.  And next week the roller coaster temperatures return.

After last winter being snowed in for three or four days, three times, I'm grateful for the lack of snow, but at the same time I feel sorry for the folks who depend on it for their livelihood.  I'm so thankful to be able to say that I know "God is in charge".

Hi everyone.  I woke up to a brief thunder shower this morning but it didn't last.  I have already been to McDonald's to get Pat something for breakfast as she woke up with the top of her big toe in a lot of pain.  She has taken the gout medicine this morning but will be down for today. There was excitement across the drive from McDonald's as the Taco Bell/KFC was on fire.  It may have been struck by lightning this morning but it wasn't open and no one was inside.

I went to Bible study and we only had six in attendance, which is about a third of the normal attendance.  I then went  to Kaiser for some blood tests and to pick up some medicine that I need today.  They took six big vials of blood, which is the most I remember them taking at a time. That will be enough for one day other than to work on some computer projects this afternoon after lunch and a rest period.

I had a total "J" night, was awake from 1 to4, finally got up for an hour and did some stuff, went back and got a couple hours' sleep.  So I will probably be  :sleepy: this afternoon.  I got some new melatonin that is supposed to be better than the ones I had, but it isn't working very well yet.

Still waiting for those books...........  Curtis has my webpage all set up, and if anyone wants, you can order the book there.  It is JanetDamon.com

And I got your checks yesterday, Etta Sue and Jane!  So yours will be the first books to hit the mail, just as soon as they arrive.  :excited: :woohoo:

Darrel has gone to eat at the Senior Center.  I'm not eating, I am fasting.  Lots of prayer needs and I believe fasting helps us draw closer to God.  Yes, I am really hungry, but as the days go by, it gets easier.  :)

I just read on the publishing blog that the average number of books sold by a first-time, unknown author is 217!  :(  I am sure believing my book will go way beyond that!  I have several book signings set up except for finalizing the dates, which I can't do until I have books to sell and sign!  If you would, please pray the book will sell well.  I feel it will be a blessing to many people.  Thanks.  I intend to do everything I can to help make it happen!

Ah, yes, snow.....we still have quite a bit of snow in all the shaded or protected places, but the roads have all cleared now, and our muddy road is almost dry again.  Guess that means it's time for more snow!

Yesterday afternoon, I worked on books.  We have so many books!  Darrel usually reads a book a day, and they sure do pile up!  I sorted and filled bags and boxes with books, which we took to the Senior Center this morning.  They will either put them in their library or put them in the next garage sale they have.  We do not have enough bookshelves for all of them.  Today I will choose another project.  I feel like I'm behind because we had appointments with the nurse this morning at 8:30 and 9:00, and she was over 30 minutes late, so the morning was really short.  She has been quite ill with a virus of some kind, aching all over and sore throat, so she wore a mask so we wouldn't get exposed to it.

That's enough of my chatter!

I came back to tell you that when they came in and turned Beth in the night, night before last, they tore one of her tumors almost off.  It is on the front of her shoulder.  I asked how nearly it was to being clear off, and she said it was only hanging by a thread.  She asked them to take it on off, but they refused, got the bleeding stopped (those things bleed something fierce!), bandaged it, and called for the doctor to come look at it when office hours started.  When we went by this morning, she was in the shower, so I don't know what the doctor said about it.

Oh, Janet!  As though Beth doesn't have enough to deal with!   :(  I pray the doctor will have an answer.

This is a large tumor, about the size of a quarter and 3/4 inch high.  I guess it just dragged against the bed, and ......Ouch!  They do cause a lot of pain when disturbed like that.  I hope the doctor just went ahead and took it off.  Beth didn't seem upset about it, but she's pretty stoic.

:)   Good afternoon. Please don't all fall of your seats when you see that I am not posting through the night.  It has been a busy day which started of with going for my physio app. then had to go to the Mission to drop of some dry foods for the food bank.  Then our  Mission has been able to purchase a farm with18 acres and some large warehouses and a couple of barns a good old farm house.  This is just a miracle that we were able to get this and the people that did own it before are Christians and they severed the land so that the Mission could be able to get this property.   It is going to be used for storage for our store items and all the food that is collected at our food drive. :) :cp: :bananadance: :excited: ::

We also have a ministry to women and men at the farm every week and we have many salvation's through this ministry.  There is many other plans for this farm and to also serve the Niagara Region.  So if you want to look at the web site I believe it is
www.openarmsmissionwelland.com and you can see what we do to help those who are less fortunate to have what they need. :)

Then after I went to the farm I went to check about my old age security and Canada pension plan as my 65th birthday is coming and I wanted to make sure that all the papers were already in where they should be. and then I went back home and Noreen and I had our lunch and relaxed for the afternoon.  At 4-00p.m. I have my foot care coming to pamper meas I have to be careful re my diabetes.  Then tonight is our small group at our church so it will make for a busy day.  So to all have a good day and may the Lord be with you all.  :cp: :run: Gordon and Noreen.

Thanks, Marilyn!  The publisher suggested I needed a PROFESSIONAL photo for the back cover of the book, as that will be people's first impression of me.  Now I wish I knew how to use it on here!  I know there are typos on that page about the Grand Canyon.  Curtis' long suite is NOT spelling! ;)  I didn't think he was going to leave that on on the webpage, and I don't YET know how to get into it to make the necessary changes/additions.  All in good time, I hope.

Gord, sounds like you had a good and busy day.  I wish you and Noreen both restful, refreshing sleep tonight.

The doctor came in to check on that tumor on Beth's shoulder.  He gave her a shot, then snipped the thing off, which is a good thing.  Shouldn't cause any more trouble, unless it grows back, and that usually takes a while.

Marilyn, I will go look at your web page now.  Wish I had the time to learn all that stuff, then REMEMBER it all. :-\

Hi, friends, I'm here, but for a few moments only.

Exhaustion hit today, so it was a rest day for the morning, then a mercy trip early afternoon, a nice little talk with my sweet daughter in law, then a meeting at church before the service.

Y'all have a wonderful rest of the day.

Yep!  It's winter.   :D  Looks like about 5 or 6 inches of snow fell overnight.  It's not snowing now, just windy and cold, supposed to warm up as the day goes on - maybe even above freezing.  We'll see.   ;)

Beautiful picture, Janet.  Great website, Marilyn.  Grand Mission, Gord.  Larry, Six vials of blood!!!  Wow!  And Jeanne...our snow is to start this afternoon.  It must have went over me here and landed on you last night!

Well, Kitty and I were going to my class lunch today while Bob took a friend for his Chemo treatment in Indy.  But she called this morning and said Bob wasn't feeling very good...sinus/allergy problems...and wanted Kitty to go with him and drive back home.  So I am going to the class lunch alone again today!  Glad it isn't far.

And I called Ivalou, Betty and Marge this morning.  My phone is telling me what time 'Make a Joyful Noise' is on at the theater Friday.  Dolly Parton and Queen Latifa is in it.  So I am leaving here at 3:30pm, get all the ladies and head to the theater tomorrow.  Leaving early but the roads may be snow covered, it's Friday and the first showing of the movie!

Hi everyone.  Not much to write about today other than the fact our weather is turning much colder tonight going into the low 20s with the possiblity of seeing a few snow flakes.  We had planned to go to Atlanta today to visit with our daughter but she wasn't feeling well this morning so we will probably go on Saturday.   I spent all morning helping Pat on some computer projects so am late getting here today to read the postings since yesterday.

Janet, I subscribed to your website so will be seeing your newsletter and will order the book through the website and use the PayPal method of payment.  I am impressed that Darrel can read a book a day.  It always takes me several days to read a book as spend too much time doing other things.  Often I go to bed at night to read and then my eyes get tired so don't get many pages read.  Tearing off the tumor sounds very painful and see that you indicated it was very painful.

Marilyn, I have clicked on you website and will give it a look after bit.

Gord, will your mission be growing produce in the summer on the farm.  This must be a large mission effort.  I will also look at the website you referenced.

Etta Sue, I have gotten my cholesterol test results and they are all within limits and appear to be good.

As to my website, I looked again, and the page Marilyn referred to was when Curtis was just starting to build it; I don't think he intends to leave the page about the Grand Canyon, and he just started hitting keys there. I remember he asked for some pictures of the canyon to post, and I didn't get them to him.  My bad!  Now I am trying to figure out how to get photos onto this computer so I can link them to other places.  I am really praying for the 'mental block' I seem to have regarding doing things on the computer will be overcome.  "God has not given me a spirit of fear, but one of love, power and a sound mind!"  If others can do it, I can do it!

Curt is to be here sometime this afternoon, hope we can sit here together and he can show me how to do some things with the web page.  For one, we must connect PayPal to my bank so the funds will go to the right place!

Etta Sue, may I come along with you to the movie?  That sounds like a good one.  I like Dolly Parton because she is so honest, and also is a Christian who tries to help  others along the way.

Marilyn, your page is very pretty.

HURRY UP, BOOKS!!   ;)

Larry, unfortunately, Darrel doesn't do much else but sit and read.  I am quite concerned about that, too!

I haven't even stuck my head out the door today to see what the weather is doing!  Busy!  :)

Well, hello this afternoon, friends. :)

It's promising to be a snowy evening, with snow showers very close to us at this time. Thankfully, I'll only be out for about an hour - a young friend has to get to work, so before the snow hits, I'll be out and about.

I'm working on an intense deadline, so can't get here as often, but my phone reminds me to pray for the prayer requests. By the way, this is the day our Pastor Al was to have had his surgery. May our Lord be with him today, and with his health care providers.

Love to all of you,
Ruth Ann

Hello  from southern Ontario
Many of you folk visit and post daily and  I have just not been around. perhaps on a personal side just just feeling sorry for myself
Today we have had a mixture of rain and snow and listening to the news there is a lot of accidents.
Earlier in the afternoon I spent a couple of hours on the phone with Judy B, she is not feeling well along with the fact that her computer is still not feeling well.  I trust that it will not be long before we see her here again.

Until the next time have a great day/evening

Thank you for the compliments on my website, I started to work on another page today but my PSP program decided to close and I decided not to work on it today. I hate to get those "Not Responding" messages on the top  bar of the open program. This computer is getting as old a I am , I bought it in 2003. It is getting time for a new one, I think next time I will get a laptop instead. I will need to save  my most important graphics programs and plugins to my external hard drive so I don't lose everything if this one crashes.

I have been have pain in my right hip up close to my waist area. The other should and back pain left.  But now it hurts every time I take a step.I won't let this get me down though , God is in control he knows my every need.

BETH GOT HER NEW WHEELCHAIR TODAY!!  Praise the Lord!

Curtis was here and helped me get a couple things done on the website.  He said if I come to his house next week one day, he will teach me more about how to do things on it.  Thank God for grandsons!  :)

I am going to work at the care home tomorrow, in the Unit.  That is what they call the Alzheimer's wing, the Special Care Unit.  They only have seven residents there.

Ruth, it sure is nice to 'see' you here again!  I have been missing you!  Thanks for the nice emails you sent me.  I think perhaps we all have those times of feeling a bit sorry for ourselves, then we see someone so much worse off that we have to start praising God for the good things in our lives.  Hope tomorrow is a brighter day for you!

Judy, feel better soon!  And I hope you get your computer fixed, and the fix is not costly!

Marilyn, you must spend lots of time on your computer.  I spend way too much time on here, but really would miss contact with so many friends otherwise.  I hope you feel better soon, too.

Marlo, I sent you an email.  Sure is nice to have you here with us!

Ruth Ann, I hope you get rested up and feel 'top o' the morning' when you wake!

Tomorrow is another new day.  Lord, help me make it count for YOU.

What a blessing to hear all the chatter in here. I often make a cup of tea and enjoy the banter and comments while I'm preparing to move to the next task.

Y'all have a great day with our Lord.

:)Hi good morning to all.  Well we woke up to a very bad snow storm and a lot of wind so I will get to use my new snow blower finally.  I have gone over the last postings and it so good to read about all the things that all of you are doing.

Ruth:    It is so good to see you back on C/P/   Hope that you feel better soon and are able to be back on C. P. more often. The Lord bless you.

Larry:  About the Mission.  They have many plans for the new Bldg.  better known as the Farm and I do think that they may be plans to have gardens but the only problem is if it was for individual people it is hard to get to as there are no local transit going that way. I was there the other day and since the sale papers were signed it is hard to believe what they have done in the warehouses.  Hope you and Pat are well.  God bless. :coffee:

Ruth  Ann;  It is good to See how you are able to keep busy and that the Lord gives you that daily strength Praise his name. :) :rocker:

To all of you I did talk to Papa Smurf the other day and he has tried to come back onto this site but he is having a problem but he has been in contact with Pat and some others so he hopes to get back on.

Janet.  I do hope that your books arrive very soon as it must be getting you a bit frustrated so I thought you could  forget by having a piece of pie. :ppie:  HA. HA.  Love you in the Lord.  Gordon. :coffee:

To all others that read the posts here please don't just read but please do come and talk to us and give us your prayer requests so that we can help  and also you can be a part of this great family lifting each other to the Lord Praise his name Forever.  Love in Christ to all.   Gordon and Noreen. :) :bible:  :cp: :snowman: :pine:

Gord, what a delight to see your cheerful post with those happy emoticons bouncing around!

Our snow arrived yesterday morning - about 5 or 6 inches.  I wondered how heavy it would be to get the car cleaned off and run a couple of errands, but decided to wait until the slightly warmer temperatures and the wind got rid of some of it.  I opened the front door to check on just how bad the porch and steps were and much to my surprise, they were cleared off and the driveway and walkway had been plowed!  I never even heard whoever it was - must have been done while I was at the other end of the house, on the computer.  The Lord loves to springs surprises!

Today we've already had a little bit of everything.  We've had a little freezing rain, followed by plain rain, followed by a bit of sunshine, followed by snow flurries and now it's just windy and melting a little.

Winter finally got to central Indiana.  While at the class lunch yesterday those big snowflakes just kept falling.

I needed gas yesterday before coming home.  According to Droid, gas in Noblesville was $3.69.9 a gallon.  Just 4.2 miles south it was $3.33.9 a gallon.  I will drive out of my way to save 36¢ a gallon.  So I did.  It just happened to be a Ricker's station so I got a cappuccino with the gift card from Ivalou.

While driving back home, the roads were getting snow covered even though it was 32°.  I checked the mail and backed into Ivalou's drive to take her mail to her.  Well, I almost hit the railing on her ramp!!  Those side mirrors that tell you you may be closer than you think is true!!

Then I put the car in the garage and was walking on the drive to the house.  I felt something was weird with my shoes but kept on walking!  I got in the house...a rug is at the door.  I stepped on the linoleum and slid!!  I screamed!  My purse and mail flew out of my hands.  I don't know how I stayed upright but I did!  I was standing still.  I pushed myself back with the back of the kitchen stool (just like an ice skater goes backwards)...grabbed the outside door and then noticed the broom.  That's what I was heading to get was the broom to sweep a path on the deck.  I swept and came back in.  I took off my shoes and I had over an inch of ice on both shoe soles!!  Never happened to me before!!  I couldn't even stomp the ice off on the doormat!

Last evening I was watching TV and crocheting.  Every time I tried to reposition myself, I hurt!  My left hip and shoulder both hurt from tensing my muscles to keep from falling.

So I went to bed with Ibuprofen!  I feel much better today!

And yes, I didn't drop the cappuccino and I did finish Chemo Wrap #5.

Still snowing but I am counting on the highway department to clear the roads so we can see the movie tonight!

Etta Sue, an inch of ice on your shoes?   :yikes:  It's a wonder you were able to walk at all.  God must have had His hand on you!   :)

Hi, friends, I'm here today and feeling pretty chipper. :)

Lunch with a friend, being out in the cold but sunny weather, and listening to a favorite radio station en route must have perked me up.

I'm closing in on this apartment "redo." I think by Monday I'll be able to welcome all comers with open arms. What a great feeling that will be!

Etta Sue, I imagine I would STILL be sliding if that happened to me. ;)

Y'all have a loving and comforting walk with our Lord today.

Love,
Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  This has been a busy day.  After coffee  a friend came by the house for an hour. Then it was time for the ROMEO's men's lunchoen.  We lingered a bit longer than the normal hour.  Then I stopped at Office Depot and Kroger's. When I got home I was ready for rest and while resting I read the postings on my daily message board.

We had planned to visit Stacey tomorrow but she has the flu as determined by her doctor this morning and is to stay down and rest for the next four days.  So that trip will be delayed until next week.  Pat has finally decided she has to has something done about her knee and the bunion on the foot of the other leg.  She can hardly get around and is in pain when she walks.  She still isn't able to get her shoe on as her toe and the bunion are so sore.

I had a pleasant surprise yesterday when the body shop called saying our car was ready to be picked up, which I did yesterday afternoon.

Marilyn, it does sound like you are about ready for a new computer.  I hope you have all of the files that are important to you like the files you have created backed up now as you never know when a hard disk is going to crash.  Programs can be re-installed from the software or downloaded and installed but files you have made cannot.  I have a suggestion for you that I strongly encourage that you and others consider.  There are a number of places that now allow you to store your files offsite (on the cloud) without charge.  Google documents provides up to 2 gigs free and Microsoft has a service that allows 5 gigs and there is another site called Dropbox that allow you up to 2 gigs free.  I use Dropbox and Google documents and also a program I have used for a long time called Mozy that will backup daily, if you desire, any new files you create or change and it is also free.  You can also burn a CD with your important files.  I worry when I see someone indicate they may have no backup.  Several times I have lost my hard disk suddenly but anymore I am not concerned as have taken steps to protect things I have created.

Etta Sue, sure glad you didn't fall.  I don't think I have ever heard of ice building up like that but your shoes were probably warm from the car ride and turned the snow to ice as you walked.  Glad you feel better today.

Gord, I did enjoy looking at the Mission web site you provided.  It looks like it really serve the community well and is certainly needed.

Janet, so happy that Beth finally got her new wheelchair.  Is she able to manipulate the controls herself?  Is it one that tilts back with the feet up and a support for the head?  I see this type at the spinal center a lot and some are even controlled by a mouth control of some type.  It is wonderful the assistive devices that are now available.

Ruth, glad to see you posting as it has been a long time and we have missed you.

For those of you I haven't commented to personally please don't feel neglected.  My posts tend to run long and I didn't want to write a "War and Peace" today.  :)

"war and peace"     Good one, Larry!

I woke up before 3 AM and never got back to sleep, so was wiped out by the time I got home from work.  It was a pretty easy day, though, since there were only 7 residents for whom to cook.  Larry, Beth's wheelchair is not motorized.  And she cannot operate it at all, since she no longer has any use of her hands.  It does have forward protrusions on the sides at shoulder height, to keep her from falling over so much.  And it does have a much better head rest, also the arm rests are longer than on the other one.  She was sitting more upright in it today than I have seen her in ages!  :)  I didn't think her knees would bend enough to allow her to sit in that position!  So I am happy, because I think it will make it much easier to load her into the van.  The chair does recline and is much easier to push and maneuver.  She said it was killing her rear, so they are going to try a different type of cushion on the seat.  TMI?  Sorry.. :-[

Ruth Ann, bless you!  You just keep right on ticking along, being a blessing to so many.  I know what you mean about your apartment--I feel the same about my house.  Two rooms to go with my clean out/sort/etc.  I will be so relieved when I get done!

We are going over to Hugoton to have supper with Diane and Jeff tonight.  Jeff and Darrel (and Diane and I, of course!) have a business deal to discuss, and it's always good to see them.

Etta Sue! n You never told us you are an ice skater!  ;)  Wow, I am so glad you weren't hurt!  Must really be cold and wet, to build up an inch of ice on your shoes so fast.  5 chemo wraps already!  Good for you!

Hi there, Jeanne in the snow!

Gordon no war here I love to read about everyone else.  I am encouraged about how everyone supports each other even when we are so far apart.

Etta Sue,  when I lived i Harrison there was a creek across the road that would freeze over in the winter time and we would ice skate on it, but I can truly say I never have tried to ice skate in the house.  I am happy that you are ok.

I have a small prayer request, well I guess no prayer is small.  But my son received a truck this past weekend he only 13 mind you but him and his dad got it so they could work on it 1975 chevy shortbed pick up.  Well he took a certain young lady out in the parking lot at church to of course show off is truck and she hit the muffler and had to get thirteen stitches in her knee.  Her mom and dad says that things just happen they just love my son.  Her mom said she has been very impressed how my son has checked up on her and had offered to pay for the bills.  He advised her he would have to get a job first though.  lol But the young lady is hurting a little.  Just keep her in mind.  Thank you

Marlo

Continuing to pray for people on this site. Although I don't get a lot of time to post on here, I do read the posts as often as I can.
I've had a busy, but safe week. In a lot of ways, it was good to go back to work. Yesterday we had a lot of snow and some freezing rain, which made driving much more difficult, but I didn't have to drive very far.
On Wednesday, we had a missionary speak to us. He talked about looking for a "man of peace" - someone who is seeking Christ, and asked us to pray for that person, so that he would know who to work with or speak to about the Lord. We found it a very challenging message - good to be challenged this way.
I'm glad the weekend is coming. This is the first weekend since November that we are actually planning to stay at home and  relax. My Dad is doing better, though dealing with pain, so we don't have to go to be with him. Our son-in-law is improving although he is still off work. Our other daughter is feeling some better.
Thanks for everyone's prayers. Have a good night and weekend.

Well, it's been a good day. I've taken a moment to come to visit, but will be making that cuppa tea, mopping the kitchen floor, and then will get the embroidery out as I watch a bit of tv tonight.

It's so nice to be able to pace myself and get the work done - maybe not on anyone else's schedule, but on mine, and oh, how satisfying it is when I finally finish. ;)

Love to all of y'all,
Ruth Ann

P.S. I'm still praying for Al's recovery from that surgery. Has anyone heard how he's doing since then?

Larry I back up m,y document folder every day to my external hard drive and I have already moved most of my art work  over, and will do that with all my photos too. I have the setup files for some of my programs on the external also along with the serial numbers.  I am thinking maybe I will get a laptop instead of a desktop next time. I do like the Dell computers, but Some of the Acer's look pretty good too. What brand would you buy if you were m?:

I am waiting to Keith to get home to take me out to dinner.

A beautiful cool 38 degree morning here in Georgia.  Not much on the schedule today that I know of at the moment.  I am looking forward to watching some NFL football late this afternoon and evening.  I wonder if any of you remember the Anita Kerr singers.  Usinig a great website called Spotify I found four of her albums and am enjoying some really nice music.  Pat's foot is feeling much better this morning so hope that she will be able to wear her shoes tomorrow and she can go to church.

Janet, thanks for the explanation of Beth's wheelchair.  I do hope they can make her comfortable while sitting in the wheelchair.  Do they use a lift to get her in and out of bed?  (If I am getting too nosy just ignore my questions here.)

Marlo, many years ago when we lived in Alaska I got a pair of ice skates and tried to skate but you have to have strong ankles and I never mastered the art of not falling down. It sounds like you have a very nice and thoughtful son and the girls mother is right these things happen as accidents.

Betty, nice to see you will have a quiet weekend and that your family members are improving in health.

Ruth Ann, you deserve to have some time of your own to do and enjoy as you want and at the pace you want to follow.

Marilyn, so glad to read you are backing up your files and program setup files.  I really don't know what to advise you as to a brand of computer to buy.  We have had good luck with a number of different brands.  I like my Lenovo laptop.

'Make a Joyful Noise' is a great movie.  I loved the music, singing and dancing.  I can't see that type of gospel music in my church but it was very enjoyable to see it on the big screen.  I will say the choir and the congregation all moved as if the spirit of God was in them!  I say, if you like movies...go see this one!

After the movie we all went to a steak house.  Then home.  I am so glad that I noticed my drive was black ice...I walked to the house by way of crusty snow on the grass, not the driveway!  Thank God for the big light in Kaye Don's back yard that showed glossy ice on my drive.  I am re-training myself for winter since this winter was so slow in coming.  I even wore my leather coat last night....just in case I slid off the road and had to walk for help!  Be prepared.  I must have a little boy scouting in me!

It got very cold last night.  I didn't get out of bed until 10am...it was so warm and cozy under the covers.  The temp was only 16°.  So I imagine it was too cold for the heat pump to work and the furnace took over...set two degrees cooler than the heat pump.  The sun is shining and no wind today.  Feels warmer seeing it bright outside and not hearing the wind whistle!  The neighbors flag is hanging straight down.

So glad that Beth got her new chair!  Sounds so much better for her and her caregivers.

Sorry that Pat is having so much problems with her legs and foot.  And praying that Stacy feels better soon.

As a woman, I feel for Ruth Ann and Janet...wishing that my environment was back to normal...whatever normal is!

I, too, back up my files on an external like Marilyn does.  Never heard of a Lenovo laptop, Larry.

And praying that Betty enjoys her weekend at home after so many busy weekends!  Relax and enjoy.

And our lady of few words but powerful words...Jeanne!

As a country girl, I never even roller skated and we didn't have any ponds or creeks close enough to try ice skating.  Marlo, I can imagine the fun ice skating on your little creeks.  Me?  I just made snow angels in the snow!

I was a little sore yesterday from my near fall but today I am good to go!  No soreness.  I started Chemo Wrap #6 yesterday.  I will be glad when I get my scraps all used up so I can use a different pattern!

Praying that everyone has a special God's day!

I just got the following and thought that maybe we all could use a little humor this afternoon as expressed from the mouths of young children:

Children in Church
A little boy was in a relative's wedding.  As he was coming down the aisle, he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd.  While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar.
So it went, step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR, all the way down the
aisle.  As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard
by the time he reached the pulpit.  When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said, "I was being the Ring Bear."

One Sunday a young child was "acting up" during the morning worship hour.  The parents did their best to maintain some sense of order in the pew but were losing the battle.  Finally, the father picked the little fellow up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out.  Just before reaching the safety of the foyer, the little one called loudly to the congregation, "Pray for me! Pray for me!"

One particular four-year old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."

A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination, looking at the old pages as he turned them. Then something fell out of the Bible.
He picked it up and looked at it closely. It was an old leaf from a tree that has been pressed in between the pages. "Mama, look what I found," the boy called out.."What have you got there, dear?" his mother asked.
With astonishment in the young boy's voice he answered, "It's Adam's suit".
The preacher was wired for sound with a lapel mike, and as he preached, he moved briskly about the platform, jerking the mike cord as he went.  Then he moved to one side, getting wound up in the cord and nearly tripping before jerking it again.  After several circles and jerks, a little girl in the third pew leaned toward her mother and whispered, "If he gets loose, will he hurt us?"

Six-year old Angie, and her four-year old brother, Joel, were sitting
together in church.  Joel giggled, sang and talked out loud.  Finally, his big sister had had enough.  "You're not supposed to talk out loud in church."
"Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked.  Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, "See those two men standing by the door?
They're hushers."

A ten-year old, under the tutelage of her grandmother, was becoming quite knowledgeable about the Bible.  Then, one day, she floored her grandmother by asking, "Which Virgin was the mother of Jesus?  The virgin Mary or the  King James Virgin ?"

A Sunday school class was studying the Ten Commandments.  They were ready to discuss the last one.  The teacher asked if anyone could tell her what it was.  Susie raised her hand, stood tall, and quoted, "Thou shall not take the covers off the neighbor's wife."

I am just home from a good day with my painting buddies.  Today we learned two new techniques:  Painting with texture and Zintango.  That's a fancy word for doodling!  But fun, and some really cute things were done.

Tonight Darrel and I are going to the Senior Prom in Hugoton!  (Sr. Citizens, that is!)  I don't have any dancing shoes, mine were all purchased these past few years with comfort and safety in mind, not dancing.  But I will do the best I can, and have a good time anyway!

Larry, yes, they use the lift with a sling any time they mover Beth.  Bed to chair, chair to recliner, recliner to bed, etc.  And I do not mind your questions at all; rather, I appreciate your interest.

It was a gorgeous day here today!  8)

Hi, friends, well, a friend persuaded me to take a few hours off, and the time away did me lots of good. We saw "War Horse." I didn't think I would enjoy it, for the violence of war stories upsets me, but the human situations in this movie really were inspiring, and I just closed my eyes during the scenes that weren't to my liking. A very good, clean movie.

Now - back to work. I have set a deadline of Monday morning to finish up, so will certainly be busy later this evening!!

Marilyn, my new laptop is an ASUS, and I really like it thus far.

Must go - the "white tornado" is spinning ever closer. ;)

Love y'all,
Ruth Ann

Nothing exciting from my world to post today.  Just crocheted and watched TV.  I watched the Miss America show.  Wisconsin won!

And I think the Saints lost!

I am all ready to leave for church.  I dread going out.  It is only 7°!  Brrr!  But no wind so that is a plus.  And the sun is shining brightly!

Hi everyone.  Another bright and sunny day here in Georgia.  Since I don't go to coffee on Sundays I was able to sleep in this morning so am getting a late start.  However, still almost two hours before I will go to church.  Pat hasn't been able to wear her shoe the last few days, although she said her toe and foot were better yesterday.  I am hoping she will feel up to going with and get out of the house for a while.  Nothing else on the schedule for today other than watch some football this afternoon.  I was sorry to see Denver lose but they were definitely outclassed last night.  The late afternoon came was certainly a good one and exciting to the very end with San Francisco coming out winning over New Orleans.

Janet, I hope you and Darrel had a great time at the Senior Prom last evening.  I am sure you were not the only one without special dancing shoes.  Thanks for the answer to my questions concerning Beth.  I know she is a very special and lovely person.

Ruth Ann, I haven't heard anyone speak of that movie.  Hope you are not going to stress yourself with the deadline you have set for yourself.

Etta Sue, that is cold.  Hope the snow and ice are gone.

I'm so grateful that I can still do my own work and to be able to be with friends.

It's so pretty and sunny today, and after church we'll be taking a friend out to celebrate her 84th birthday. She's been housebound since hospitalization in June, so it will be a big occasion to get her out of the house and back with us once again.

Love to each of you,
Ruth Ann

Thanks for the wonderful welcome back.

Larry & Marilyn :   The both of you and many others make more use of the computer than I have the knowledge for.  But please do not do what happened to me I had saved a number of my photo's to several Cd's  filed them in a zippered binder, I have lost them all, I think it fell into a bag that I was filling for the Good Will folk.  All this to say be careful where you file your backups.

Yesterday and today have been cold ones but today has been sunny all day.

I have a sewing machine and a serger and I spent most of yesterday doing an alteration to 4 Pr's of my son's uniform pants in fact he needed 6 inches added ,a small job  but my serger was always breaking threads several of the seams were to bulky for the needle needless to say I was doing a lot of re - threading.  Now he has 4 Pr's of new uniform pants.

Janet: Is  this your first book?
I am glad that Beth has a new wheelchair.

Marl:  I have responded to your off line message.

Larry:  Was Pat able to attend church with you today?

Etta Sue:   My husband and son use cleats when they go ice fishing perhaps you should have some as well.   ha ha ha

Yes, Ruth, this is my first book, so I am on a very steep learning curve!  It has been quite a journey.  Boy!  Adding 6 inches to the length of a pair of pants is quite a feat!  Lucky son to have you to do that for him.  :)

I have had a rough day, but am determined to keep on praising the Lord through it.  We went and picked up Beth, went to church.  I sit beside her, of course.  Well, the youth pastor was speaking today, and had just gotten into his message when Beth told me she was hurting.  I asked if she wanted to leave, she said she would try to make it through church.  But in just a few minutes, she said she thought we'd better take her back to the home.  So I gathered up my stuff, took it to the back to Darrel, then went down the center aisle and turned her chair around and pushed her back to the foyer.  We had barely cleared the doors when several loving, caring friends were right there, asking what was wrong, and could they help?  Pastor was among them, and when I told them Beth was in too much pain to stay, they laid hands on her and prayed for her.  Then two big, strong men pushed her down the ramp and to the van, up into the van; asked what else they could do......etc.  Well, the van is high off the ground because of the handicap equipment,  I had on a dress with a straight skirt, making it hard for me to get in.  I was holding onto the doorpost to boost myself up, and the automatic back door shut on my two middle fingers!  I let out a little scream and the two men quickly turned to ask what happened and if I was all right.  I assured them I was, and we left.  But the tears rolled all the way to the care home and my fingers still hurt.  But they aren't smashed enough for the skin to be broken, just bruised pretty badly.  It made me sick at my stomach and gave me a headache from the pain.

Back to Beth:  When they tilted her chair way back, thus getting most of her weight off her rear, her pain lessened, then after she ate, they put her in her recliner, which is her most comfortable place to be.  I just hope she doesn't feel as 'wiped out' as her Mom does!

I had to smile to myself, because those men had more trouble handling that wheelchair than I do!  ;)

I am going to try to update the blog on my webpage.  Wish me luck!  ;)

And, here in our football games the fellows wear protective pads on their bodies and helmets on their heads! h-m-m-m-m-m  ;D (No hurt intended, Etta Sue -- we just love you and want to keep you in good shape.)

Owie, Janet! May our Lord grant both you and Beth rest from the pain today.

The lunch with our friend was quite successful - even the pastor and his wife came. So, she was so thankful that we remembered. She's alone - no children and widowed. Therefore, we felt it imperative that we remember her even though she's very weak and getting "feeble."

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

It looks like it has been slow in here today. I wonder where everyone is. It  is so cold here today my hands are freezing and the Reynauds in my left hand  is really acting up.

We went to Walmart this morning and it started to sleet just as we were walking in, You could really hear it hitting the roof inside the store. They had it all scraped  into a pile by the time we left. As I was driving home I tried to stay in the tracks left by  those on the street before me.

As I started down a hill I tried to slow down and applied the brakes slowly but there was so much ice that I started to slide to my right where two ladies were walking on the sidewalk. I corrected and when I did I started sliding to the left across the yellow lines.

It's a good thing there were no cars coming toward me in the other lanes, I managed to get back into my own lane as I started up the hill on the  other side.  I made it home in one piece and still calm surprisingly.

All the time Keith is gently telling me that I should have let off the gas sooner to slow down, What? I was doing down hill, letting off the gas wasn't going to slow me down, it wold have  made me go faster.  I bet I scared those two ladies though. I will ask them Thursday when I see them.

Ok who is going Ice skating next first Etta Sue in her house.  Then Marliyn in her car today.  Which I think is a little more dangerous especially for the ladies on the side walk.  All kidding aside I am thankful no one had gotten hurt to much so far this winter.  Etta Sue how is you hip?

Well after church this morning we took 11 yes 11 college girls to Cracker Barrel to eat lunch from the college.  It is a true blessing to Minister along side my Husband Larry with these girls.  They call me Momma Marlo and Two are from Africa , 1 is from Dominica so the waitress couldn't understand them very well.  So they yelled Momma tells hers whda we whats (or something like that)  so I helped them.  The Lord blesses our church and our Ministry so once a month we can do this.  The waitress brought our check to us and said," Are all these children yours?"  and they all turned their heads including my two and said, "Yes" at the same time it was priceless.  What a blessing.

About blessings,  just remember if someone gives you something and you don't take it you just may be robbing them of a BLESSING!!

Hears another saying I love:

Don't worry what people think about you, worry about what GOD knows.

I would like to give out a thank you for whomever enlarged my photo for the mini challange I still can not get into the gallery.  That is my little Niece Isabella  the only girl out of four.  Her old brother is 22.  She was not a happy camper because I couldn't take her home with me.  Sorry such a poor picture I took it with  my phone.

Well I am done rambling.  I'll Talk at you tomorrow .

Oh Gordon How is Noreen I pray the cold is not bothering her to much.
