Morning Devotional...
Jesus Betrayed and Abandoned
John 18:1-24 NLT
After saying these things, Jesus crossed the Kidron Valley with his disciples and entered a grove of olive trees. Judas, the betrayer, knew this place, because Jesus had often gone there with his disciples. The leading priests and Pharisees had given Judas a contingent of Roman soldiers and Temple guards to accompany him. Now with blazing torches, lanterns, and weapons, they arrived at the olive grove.
Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to meet them. "Who are you looking for?" he asked.
"Jesus the Nazarene," they replied.
"I Am he," Jesus said. (Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them.) As Jesus said "I Am he," they all drew back and fell to the ground! Once more he asked them, "Who are you looking for?"
And again they replied, "Jesus the Nazarene."
"I told you that I Am he," Jesus said. "And since I am the one you want, let these others go." He did this to fulfill his own statement: "I did not lose a single one of those you have given me."
Then Simon Peter drew a sword and slashed off the right ear of Malchus, the high priest's slave. But Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword back into its sheath. Shall I not drink from the cup of suffering the Father has given me?"
So the soldiers, their commanding officer, and the Temple guards arrested Jesus and tied him up. First they took him to Annas, the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest at that time. Caiaphas was the one who had told the other Jewish leaders, "It's better that one man should die for the people."
Simon Peter followed Jesus, as did another of the disciples. That other disciple was acquainted with the high priest, so he was allowed to enter the high priest's courtyard with Jesus. Peter had to stay outside the gate. Then the disciple who knew the high priest spoke to the woman watching at the gate, and she let Peter in. The woman asked Peter, "You're not one of that man's disciples, are you?"
"No," he said, "I am not."
Because it was cold, the household servants and the guards had made a charcoal fire. They stood around it, warming themselves, and Peter stood with them, warming himself.
Inside, the high priest began asking Jesus about his followers and what he had been teaching them. Jesus replied, "Everyone knows what I teach. I have preached regularly in the synagogues and the Temple, where the people gather. I have not spoken in secret. Why are you asking me this question? Ask those who heard me. They know what I said."
Then one of the Temple guards standing nearby slapped Jesus across the face. "Is that the way to answer the high priest?" he demanded.
Jesus replied, "If I said anything wrong, you must prove it. But if I'm speaking the truth, why are you beating me?"
Then Annas bound Jesus and sent him to Caiaphas, the high priest.

We can easily get angry at the Jewish Supreme Court for their injustice in condemning Jesus, but Peter and the rest of the disciples also contributed to Jesus' pain by deserting and denying him.
While most of us are not like the religious leaders, we are all like the disciples, for all of us have been guilty of denying Christ as Lord in vital areas of our life.
Don't excuse yourself by pointing at others whose sins seem worse than yours. Instead, come to Jesus for forgiveness and healing, and be committed to stand up for him.
The Best of the Bible--365 Must-Read Bible Passages
I am dressed and ready for a walk alone this morning because painters are coming sometime and someone has to be here. Hot today and we are just going to endure because of windows being open. This is a once every five year painting the trim and not much with the homeowners - it is already paid for with our monthly dues. Our house is mostly brick otherwise. We just wanted the easiest maintenance. Many years ago, we lived in this area of the country and I had two babies here - in the summertime - without air conditioning - in a hot & tiny brick house (the best thing about being tiny is that it was so slick to clean).
Gord: I am so sorry for your fall. Do you keep a little night light on the floor level? I have a few around the house and put them in place when we have company. I hope everything is alright for you & that you heal quickly.
We had a great visit with the children yesterday. September is when we will meet again on our annual weekend in the foothills. I brought two things to the meal - guacamole and I made a mandarin orange & cranberry salad & arrived without the mandarin oranges and cranberries. Forgetting things really does upset me :(
Gord: I will put you in my prayers for you to be looked after.
Gord you are getting up there in years, the night light is a good idea. You are being prayed for up here in the frosty north!

A bright and sunny day in Indiana. I don't know the temperature right now but I am sure it will be quite warm today.
Nothing planned. Need to take the church bulletin to Ivalou. She didn't go to church yesterday. Her heart was out of rhythm and she just isn't with it until it corrects itself. I called when I got home and she was much better.
Then this evening is Photo Guild. I know that will be fun! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ELgtyt2.gif&hash=769c4962619c97f60e1cb2d08a548ed58bc9e39a)
Hi everyone. We had a large rain and electrical storm for several hours last evening. Fortunately we never lost power in our area but lots of areas around Atlanta did. It is overcast today and it may well rain later but don't think there is a high probability.
I have my men's luncheon today and then at 3 pm Pat has to see the dentist as she has a tooth that is aching and thinks she may have a broken filling. She just got her teeth cared for a couple of weeks ago but these things happy. Just hope there is no abcess. I have already been to coffee at McDonald's and then four of us walked a mile at the gym. That will my exciting day.
Al, Pat saw the chiropractor twice last week but his treatments didn't seem to help at all for the spasms. Believe me when I say she believes in the chiropractor and sees him fairly often.
Gord, sorry to read of your fall but understand how easy it is to sometimes lose our balance particularly when we have been asleep or walking in the dark. I keep a weak nightlight with blue light on in the bathroom and that provides enough light for me to see at night. Sure hope you have no lasting effects from the fall and that there are no seizures ahead for you.
Etta Sue, thanks for the fine devotional for this week.
Carol, don't envy the painting you are experiencing but it is good they keep the window cells properly painted. Right after I moved into this house, which has vinyl siding, I had vinyl put over all the wood areas of my windows and door sills. Many of my neighbors have had to replace or repair windows due to water damage. The outside of my home looks basically like it did when we moved in.
Good Morning, I am just checking in here to let you all know that am still reading your posts even if I don't have anything to say.
This morning I am going to an exercise class, Jane and her neighbor are going to meet me there, I hope I get the moves down quickly and not feel weird about not knowing the new moves. I'm sure will know some of the moves from doing Tai Chi practice in McKinleyville, I have never done yoga so that will be new to me.
I hope everyone has a blessed day
And I found the film, Gospel of John on youtube, bit of a pain keep having to bring up the continuing sections, but it was both enjoyable, and gollowed the narative of the scripture well.
It has been a quiet day here on CP. We have continued to have cold damp weather, but the garden is doing well as are the chicks.
Elizabeth and I are going to have a relaxing evening, watching TV, and I will be knitting.
I am off now for the evening. I will check in again before I head to bed.
I have had a call from Kassie. She is suffering with a really bad migraine. The combination of short nights and strong sunlight has done her in. I have told her to get to bed early, which will help. I have tried to see if I can get her meds to her but Shoppers Drug Mart will only fill the original prescription. So that is out. I have said all that to say this. Please pray for Kass. Pray that she has a good sleep tonight and tomorrow there is cloud cover. Thank you for praying.
Judy, I'm praying now. Poor darling.
Marilyn: It will be fine - the class, I mean. Just keep going. The kids in school have had yoga and in a way I don't think that is too bad for them - it is meant to relax them.
JudyB: I don't know where your daughter is right now but indeed, strong sunlight is quite a change from an overcast climate. I know from my experience. Praying for your daughter that she will be alright.
Painters came so late yesterday & the foreman did not remember that we are to leave Wed. - he said Friday and so today they are to do the parts where we open the windows. Wish people would write things down and not try to remember! A strong and fast Severe Thunderstorm came through yesterday so painting had to stop - I went out to warn the guys painting. They should be here early today - I am up so they can come! :D Now to begin packing the car - cleaning it first.
We will be driving over 5,000 miles so best be in good health - I am thinking of this because just down the road at the AF academy over 200 have the Mexican flu. It is reported to be dreadful. Remember the Hong Kong flu?
Oh Father, I pray for Kassie and for Judy. They can't do all the things for this pain that they think will help, and so they feel frustrated and concerned. Oh help them leave it in Your hands, knowing that You care. And O Father, grant Your healing hand will be far greater than anything that could be done from the drugstore. Oh just make them both aware of Your loving presence through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Well, today is the day Marbeth goes to the qilting group, and I go over to the coffee shop. Our pastor is going to come today to meet me there. He preached on a portion of the Sermon on Mount Sunday, and I'll be preaching on the next portion, so we're going to compare notes and plan ahead. Should be a delightful time of working together to see our Lord glorified in His people. Pray for us.
Thank you Folks for praying.
Hi everyone. Not much new here. It is a bright and warm day, already up to 90 degrees but no rain forecast for the next couple of days.
Pat saw the dentist yesterday and he found her tooth had cracked. She has an appointment this afternoon where he will remove a filling and see if the tooth can be fixed for the crack. She may need a crown or may have to have eit pulled. She refuses to have another root canel as she has had terrible experience with these in the past. She had just finished getting her teeth all fixed about 2 or 3 weeks ago and now a new problem. However, this too shall pass.
I have a meeting to attend and lead this morning and then need to stop at the grocery store for a few items and then plan on being in the rest of the day.
Judy, sorry to read of Kassie's migraine as know how painful those can be.
Marilyn, I certainly would worry about not knowing the moves when this is your first experience. You certainly couldn't be expected to know them.
Al, hope your planning session goes well.
Carol, that sounds like a very long trip and many hours in the car. Hope you have a great trip and the painters get done what they need to do that involves having your house open.
Hi Summicron.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBoyDog.gif&hash=abe4831b15c87141333dc870da684fbc5a29c923)
Okay. I want to let you folks know something that is so simple, it made me feel stupid to think that I hadn't thought of it. Do you get annoyed at those seat belts in your car that ride at your neck and make you feel like you are choking? Well, try this the next time you get in your car. When you are putting on your seat belt, pull it way out, give the metal part a twist or two or three and then fasten it. Voila! It doesn't ride diagonal across your chest and chafe your neck. Try it!
I got up this morning and ate my breakfast, then went to church to upload some images and movies. I called a church member to see if I could take some photos of their pygmy goats. I am going back around noon since the mommies and kids were in the back pasture. Don is going to move them up to the barn so I can get better shots of them. They are so cute from the road when I drive past there.
Then this afternoon is yard mowing time. Suppose to rain tomorrow. ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ESwct.gif&hash=47744720c9eef84ce4c909885ccea46f0549b518)
Etta Sue you can buy clips at a auto supply store that do the same thing. They are much safer than twisting the seat belt. I got a set for under $5.00 CDN. I am sure they would be no more than that for you.
It is a bright sunny day here as well. Light fluffy clouds in the sky and a cool breeze blowing. Doug has the lawn tractor and he needs to get it back so I can mow!! ;D
John built a feed box for the birds. HE had a wire screening across the top to enable us to dump their feed into it. It nicely holds a full bag of feed. Well last night when Elizabeth went out to check on the birds for the night there were 2 birds inside the box! :idiot: She has to take the screening off to get the silly little things out of there! This morning there was one in the box! :clobber: Elizabeth has become a real Mama Chicken!!! <3 LOL
Must run have a lot I want to do today.
Boy oh boy that exercise class stretched muscles that haven't been stretched in a long time, but there is no paint today, the exercises were very gentle, Weren't they Jane?
Today I have to go by the doctor's office to pick up some samples of my Singulair, and then to the Bi-Mart to pick up my Gabapentin. The mail in drug store, Prescription Solutions, is taking too long to ship my meds and I ran out. The Singulair is for my asthma and the other is for the neuropathy in my feet. So I don;'t want to be without either of them.
Etta Sue I read somewhere that the seat belts should not have any twists int hem that they should lay flat against your body to give the best protection.
Have you ever clicked the "Report to Moderator" button accidentally? I just did. Sorry about that guys.
Has anyone heard from Janet? Wondering how Beth and she is doing.
I just found out that our cousin Danny and his wife Esther are new grandparents!
Judy, I've been wondering about Janet too. She hasn't checked in for awhile now, and she was doing that pretty regularly. Has anyone heard from her? I hope everything is going ok for them. Beth seemed to be getting better, but poor Janet was so tired.
Have you tried calling her? Or anyone? I am praying for her....and Beth.
Here is some photos of both Grubby and Fritzy, (our Cats) the one of Fritzy in Keith's arms was take the day we got him Sept. 15 2008. As you can see Grubby has not tail, I can feel a little stub back there but above that almost down to where her tail should be it looks like something has been cut off. Grubby is a stray that has adopted us.

Etta sue has Janet's cell number.
Lovely cats Marilyn.
While I was out mowing the yard, JudyB called me. Judy, you have a lovely voice. So sorry I wasn't inside to answer. But I did call Janet. She is home. She was told that Beth would be in Wichita for more than a week more so she called Darrel and said, 'Come get me!' She has been home three days and has been having a 'Janet rest'. We all know how Janet rests, right? She is going back to Wichita tomorrow. Actually she is at Diane's for her granddaughter's birthday...gosh, her name is outside my mind right now! She did say that when Beth's open wound closes that she will be able to be moved back to the nursing home and it is almost closed!
She doesn't have the wireless router at home so can't use the laptop and when she tried to use the desktop, over a thousand emails were trying to come in...so she gave up trying to get on CP. Besides she couldn't remember her name and password for CP and couldn't remember where she wrote them down. We have all had those days, right?
Janet is fine and so is Beth. Darrel is happy Janet is home.
Thanks, Judy and Etta Sue, for getting in touch with each other and then Janet ... It is a good thing that Janet got back home (and probably a very good thing that she can't use her computer) she needs rest -- or at least whatever passes for "rest" in her dictionery.
Etta Sue, thanks for the update on Janet. I'm glad she did take a break. And it will be wonderful when Beth can be moved - good news that her wound is nearly closed. :)
Thank You Etta Sue. I am glad she is having "Janet Rest"! Is the party for Abby?
It seems the sun is the cause of Kassie's headaches. I am praying for cloud cover for her. She needs to get some sun glasses.
John has been going steady for 7 days and has 3 to go then he is taking time off. He is needing the off time. he has now stopped for the night so perhaps he will rest tonight.
I have a big day planned for tomorrow. Pay day and Elizabeth is needing her glasses prescription filled. That along with about a dozen other things and it will b a full day.
Night all and God bless.
Good to hear the update on Janet. Even if she is busy, just getting a break from the hospital would probably be a type of "rest". Not for me...but maybe for Janet. Bless her heart. She is a go-girl for sure.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FGoodMorningSmileys.gif&hash=7c038691f761a464e5037dde81b8fe5031ec1b7b)
Abby! That's her name. I almost said it but then thought...I don't know if that is Janet's g-daughters name or not. She is growing up. She was baby-sitting and Janet hadn't seen her yet was I talking to her.
I did get to the farm yesterday that has the pygmy goats. I forgot that they also have miniature mules. So I got some fairly good shots of the girls and the kids! I love the bleating of the pygmies. There were six of them, three mules and a horse and the family dog, Otis!
Then I went to Noblesville for Taco Bell and to Lapel to the Dollar General. I mowed in the afternoon. I sure wish the lawn stayed pretty for more than a couple of days after it is mowed! I guess I have too much stuff in it that isn't grass!
Rainy...cloudy...dark in Indiana today. At least the rain has washed the dust off the grass from mowing off the mole hills. ;) My mole trap has tripped three times now. I was asked if I dig in the ground to see if I got a mole. No way! If I did, great. If not, I will keep trying until I don't see anymore hills.
I may just call Kitty to see if Katie wants to play! ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Hi everyone. I was also glad to see the posting concerning Janet's absence although had just read an e-mail from her with that information. I expect we will all hear from her later today or tomorrow when she has access to wireless and can use her laptop.
I spent the morning at our local county park working on something with a good friend. This park has many walking paths and benches as well as small lakes. It is very quiet and lovely there and a lot of people use it. No bugs bothered us and we found nice shady place to sit and talk. I hadn't been to the park for a couple of years. I can't walk there because there are many hills and after going up a fairly steep path I had to sit down and rest and we stayed there until we returned to the car.
Happy Bithday Judy.
I am happy to say that Pat is feeling much better now and how taken the car to go to the library and a stop at the grocery store. I am sure she will be worn out when she gets home but glad to see her feeling up to doing this. I was going to lay down to rest this afternoon but will wait until she gets back in case she needs help with grocery bags.
Marilyn, that is sure a pretty card you made for Judy.
Etta Sue, moles can sure do a lot of damage to a nice yard.
Happy Birthday Judy :hb2: :hb3:
Happy Birthday Judy!!
:hb3: :hb3: :hb3: :hb3: :hb3: :hb3: :hb3: :hb3: :hb3: :hb3: :hb3:
Hope It's A Special Day for You.
Don
Hap, Hap, Happy birthday to you, from me to you kid.
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!
Elizabeth and I have had a good day.
Happy arrival day, Judy! We're glad you're here!
Happy Birthday to you.... Judy B.
:hb2:
Howdy from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This is a cowboy/ski town so it is hyped - really, a mountain town that now has wealthy visitors but they want to pretend it is the same as years ago. There are a lot of young people floating the Yampa river, it is nice to see the water high. We had lots of things to do this morning and I had to call relatives in Minnesota because a tornado hit their town yesterday and thankful that no one in the area was hurt. Only trees, some buildings and many docks & boats damaged. My 94-year-old auntie had the presence of mind to take a pillow, flashlight and weather radio into her bathroom while trees and branches hit her brick building apartment. We are so proud of her!
We should sleep well tonight although this motel is very close to the train track and we know they do come through at odd times.
Happy Birthday, Judy. Did you get cake? :)
HELLO, dear ones! How good it makes me feel to know you are still praying for Beth and me. I was blessed with a ride to Wichita with a young woman from our church who had a flight out of here this afternoon. We had a nice visit on the way, too.
AND----when I walked in her room, Beth was smiling big and said, "Guess what? They took the wound vac off!" One of the doctors came to look at the wound and said it wouldn't be necessary for the vac to be put back on it, so they took it out of the room. Now we wait for word from the main surgeon as to what will be done with the wound: stitch it up, put a graft on it, or leave it to heal on its own. There is still a gap about an inch wide between the skin areas. And the tube in her colon will be left, at least for a while.
I made arrangements for an ambulance from home to transfer her when she is released. They will fight to get the insurance companies to pay for it, since Beth is a total care patient. I just feel this will be much easier on her and on us. These people are in Wichita on average four times a week anyway, and she said they had made four trips here in the past 24 hours! Of course they have more than one ambulance and driver! I also asked her if I didn't have too much stuff, would it be possible for me to ride home with Beth in the ambulance, and she said, "Absolutely, yes!" :) Things are a lookin' up! 8)
And.....the managers at the Ronald McDonald house were expecting me, and gave me big hugs when I arrived!
The only bad news is that klutzy me fell again! As I was leaving RMc, my ankle turned, I missed the bottom step, and fell on my right shoulder. It is really causing pain, all over my body. I'm glad I brought the pain pills and muscle relaxers with me that were prescribed the last time I fell. I MUST stop doing that! >:(
So many people have faithfully prayed, sent email messages, cards, flowers, balloons, called us and visited, and done so many kindnesses for us, my heart is full of gratitude to the wonderful family of God. His mercies are new every morning; great is His faithfulness. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
I didn't get rested up, but one of the gals at the house told me I look 10 years younger than when I left. By evening I am tired to the very depths of my soul.
I think Beth will be released in the next few days, no word yet as to exactly when.
Time to go "home" and take those pills! Sorry this is so long, it is good to be back online with you.
HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR JUDY!! AND MANY MORE!!!
Hallelujah-Janet-I am so glad to hear how everything is going...Thank you and praise you our Father in heaven for the blessings you've given Beth and her family and for giving strength to Janet and all the kindness shown and things working for the good for those that love you!
God Bless Janet, Beth, family and friends!!!
And for all here on CP...
Yes I wanted to pop in too to say :hb3: Judy!
Judy, I know the day has passed on by, but I am still wishing you "all the best" as you celebrate your day of birth!
Janet, it is so good to hear from you and to know you have at least managed to "look younger" since you were last there! Please, please ..... take it easy. No more falling, okay? <3 <3
Your posts are never too long, Janet. We eagerly read every word.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow....!
Janet you really have to go a bit slower. I know it is hard but you really must! No more falling!
Thank you everyone for the birthday greetings. No birthday cake today but a blizzard instead from Dairy Queen.
It is late I am heading to bed in a few. Night all
Oh Father, I pray You'll give Beth and Janet a comfortable and safe trip, and I pray You'll continue to heal Beth and restore a measure of health to her. Oh enable them both to rejoice in You!
Hi everyone. I have been out to coffee and did my mile walk at the gym and the rest of my day is clear as have no appointments. I have plenty to do here in my office to keep me as busy as I want to be.
Janet, what good news you heard when you got back to Beth's room. Hopefully you are down to a few days rather than weeks before she will be able to return to your area and you will be able to return home. So sorry to hear of your second fall. I think sometimes our mind gets so preoccupied with thinking about other than what we are doing at the moment that things like the fall occur. I agree with Nita that your postings are never too long.
Carol, certainly glad that you found your relatives weren't hurt in the tornado in Minnesota.
Good morning! Beth has had her bath (they only use those bath wipes, so she is looking forward to a real bath with soap and water!) and is sitting up in the Barton Chair. She said they washed her hair at 2 AM, as they weren't busy and she wasn't sleeping.
We need to call John, as he hasn't been able to call her since I have been gone, nobody here to hold the phone for her. He will be happy, and so will she!
I will come back later.......thanks for the good words, and God bless you all.
Janet it is so good to hear form you and the progress that the wound has made, Janet you must stop falling, Remember when I used to be falling all the time? haven't fallen since I moved to Oregon in March, that sure is a plus for me. However this getting old is really the pits. I hate waking up in the morning and have to keep on moving my legs and hips to try to make the pain go away before I even get out of bed. Once I am up and moving I am fine it seems like the pain was never there.
Happy is having to wear and e-collar again. I found a place on his tail that he had chewed raw. I took the collar off him yesterday for awhile and he chewed his tail raw again. I managed to get some of the medicine on him but putting medicine of any kind on Happy is like trying to wrestle and mad Border Collie.
He growls and snaps and tries to run and hide under the bed. I have to hold him on the leash and try to get the medicine on him at the same time. Just putting flea drops on him wears me out I end up in a sweat and wheezing.
Marilyn some dogs are like that . Try sitting with him relaxing with him on your lap then without him noticing put the drops on him. Hane them ready. When he is relaxed it may work.
Woohoo John is coming home today. He has been gone a long time, and it shows in the miles he has driven. I have a friend coming over today as well. it has been a while since she has been here.
Elizabeth is at the food bank volunteering today. This will give her a good portion of her volunteer hours in. This is something that is rather new to me but a good thing. To graduate high school students have to put in 40 volunteer hours. If they put in an additional 40 hours it means an extra credit for them. Kassie has most of hers done, and this will give Elizabeth most of hers.
Well I must go, I am decluttering a room that I really don't want to go into. It will be better when its done.
Judy I think Happy can read my mind, He is so smart, he seems to know what am up too even when I try to be sneaky and give him treats and pet him, he will take off before can even grab the medicine spray bottle. I can walk into the bedroom and turn the light on and he scoots under the bed and I'm only going through to the bathroom. He just doesn't trust me.
Marilyn, I don't think my age has anything to do with my having fallen a couple of times. Like Darrel said when I told him, "You are just getting too tired." [That's my story and I'm sticking to it!] ;)
My nice friend, mother of a painting buddy, came again today and took me for lunch and to visit Exploration Place. She is one special lady, even at "double pretzels!" She is a blessing.
No doctors yet today, except the infection ones. Darn. This waiting with no word is what gets to me. 48 days now....seven long weeks, come tomorrow.
Judy, that is a good deal, for the girls to get credits by doing volunter hours. We had a teacher in Ulysses who required her classes to do volunteer hours; it's really good for them, and for the community.
John was happy to get to talk to Beth again!

Slow getting here today. It took me 20 minutes to get online this morning. Vista was updating and I rebooted a couple of times but after I powered down the modem and back on, then turned on the laptop again, I was on the internet. Then Kitty drove in the driveway.
Kitty, Katie and I went swimming. Kitty and Katie were near the kiddie pool...say that three times! I was in the bigger pool. We were there about 2.5 hours. Then to the showers. Katie shut her fingers in a heavy door so her and Kitty went to get some ice but once they got the ice, Katie didn't want the ice on her fingers. She was asleep in two minutes once we were on our way home.
Tonight is Elizabeth Bible Study at the minister's home. I think there are around 10 of us.
Janet ! Stop that! Stay upright! Slow down! a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m.

Thank you Etta Sue.
Sorry about the sore fingers. Ice will help.
I am just back from a quick trip to Wal*Mart to pick up my new Yogurt Maker,I also stopped at Bailey's Health Food Store to pick up some plain organic Greek style yogurt for my starter. I am going to make my own.
I took both dogs for their walks before I went to Wal*Mart. I have had an annoying headache ever since I got up this morning that I think is due to the fact that I did not use my CPAP machine last night. Boy the getting old is absolutely the pits and it really sucks.
At exercise class this morning we did some yoga moves that stretched muscles than I didn't know I had. I hope to eventually be able to do them without it hurting so much and be able to balance without falling over.
I suppose I should be doing Tai Chi at home but lately I have been so tired. My Dr. appoint isn't until the 7th of next month to discuss the results of my blood draw. I am thinking I might be low on B12.
This weekend is July Jubilee days to celebrate North Bend's birthday we will go to the car show and to some of the other events, maybe even drive the Corvette in the evening car cruise with the top off

My coffee is about gone...
Good morning, everyone! Not many posts since I was here last! Summer is a busy time for everyone! Everyone out and about, going here and there.
I went to the Elizabeth Womens group fellowship last evening. Seems I didn't need to get a DVD player after all. It is a VHS tape that is used in the Bible study. Rick Warren's study on James. Now I have to see if my VHS player in the living room works! I have three of them so hopefully one of them works okay! BTW, I have Elizabeth group next month here.
Cloudy and looks like rain here in Indiana. Kitty and Bob are taking Katie either all the way home or meeting Katie's mommy half way. Katie lives south of Dayton, Ohio. I just called Kitty to see if Bob was going with her. I know Kitty doesn't like driving in rain so I offered to go with her and drive if it rains but Bob is going. >^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<

My kind friend Mary came and took me to her chiropractor again this morning. Everything moved and popped, so I hope the pain will go away. I dislike having to take pain meds--or any kind of meds, for that matter. Usually the only things I take are BP med, water pill and vitamins. Plus Tylenol when I hurt somewhere.
Beth is just sleeping this morning. I woke he up and fed her some breakfast, then she went right back to sleep, woke up and mumbled a few words to John when he called.
The nurse has a call in to one of the surgeons to attempt to get some information as to plans for discharge. Three days from now will make four weeks here in Acute long term care, and they said after four weeks, she will start drawing on her lifetime limit for Medicare, and we don't want that to happen! (She was in Intensive Care for three weeks before that.)
Marilyn, sorry you have so many aches and pains and other medical problems. I really do not feel my age at all, except at times like this when I'm under so much stress. Usually, I feel no different physically than I did in my 30s or 40s. I am blessed with excellent health, for which I thank God every day.
Nita, thanks for your kind words. You are a sweetheart!
Hey, Larry. Glad you have those slow days often. You do so much, usually. I know you have a very active mind. (That's a compliment, by the way.) ;)
Pat, where are you these days? Surely you will eventually have internet access at the new house, won't you? I can't imagine you being "unhooked" for long!
Carol, you and your husband seem to go a lot and get a lot of things done. Good for you! Sure hope to meet you someday. :-\
The PT gals are here doing range of motion exercises with Beth and getting ready to sit her up in the Barton chair for a while. That's good, because she can be sitting up when I feed her lunch!
Hoping for word as day 49 slowly passes.........
Janet actually my aches and pain are not very long lasting and I am still very active. The pain in my left thumb is the most painful and hurts all the time. The neuropathy in my feet comes and goes. Pretty much stays away as long as I take my meds. My asthma has been a life long thing and I can deal with that at least I am not having any asthma attacks and have the asthma under complete control.
When I say getting old is not fun it is only a figure of speech and meant to be tongue in cheek so to speak.
I made my homemade yogurt this morning, I can't wait to eat some. It will be done fermenting about 5 PM and have to cool down to room temperature before I put it into the fridge.
Good afternoon: cloudy for most of the day no construction for about 2 wks as they will need to bring a crew in to drop the over head wires for the machines to have room for there booms. I like the quietness for sure.
Mel & I have shelled a bushel of peas and today I did the precooking for the freezer. The next item will be the green beans when they are ready. We are seeing tomatoes on our plants and also the green peppers are coming along fine as well.
Yesterday Auntie called asking that I take her out yes she needed groceries but more important than that she has a neighbor that is presently at home due to a union strike but she cannot stay home, at the time of the call she was pulling weeds out of aunties garden.
Marilyn: Where can you purchase a yogurt machine? If the machine is not overly expensive I would like to give it a try.
Janet: It is good that Beth is slowly improving and you try to keep well
Ruth Put a request on free cycle, That is where I got mine.
Pat is on holidays, she pops in and out as she is able. Pray for her this coming week as they are traveling.
Our birds are about ready to take up the entire coop. John and Elizabeth are going to be working on it this evening.
We picked 6 baskets of strawberries, as did many other pickers. The price of pick your own is half that of pre-picked. The growers out here have lost a lot due to the harsh winter we had. As a result the berries are scarce and the growers are shutting down earlier.. It is too bad as they are delicious this year, but not enough sun to ripen them up. I am into making jam when I get off here.
Have a good evening everyone.
Judy you got your Yogurt machine from Freecycle? Now why didn't think of that, I paid $18.88 at Wal*mart online.
Marilyn I have had it for a while. Don't use it much though Marilyn. I find it uses a lot of milk and at the price of milk you can buy yogurt cheaper..
OK I have 20 jars of strawberry jam and a bunch of frozen berries. I feel sticky all over so it is in for a shower and then to bed. John and I are tired after a restless sleep last night.
Got to go and finish up here. Night all!
I was just talking to Kassie. Be praying for her she is struggling at camp. Upset tummy and all that goes with that. I suspect it is a stress reaction because of the intensity of the course, but that doesn't take away from the struggle physically. She is "Sucking it up" as she said to John. To me she has said she will go to the nurse tomorrow if she is no better. Thank you for praying.
Hi everyone. This has been a busy day so will just pop-in tonight for a quick hello.
After coffee this morning I went to Atlanta and picked up Stacey and brought her out to see the chiropractor. We then met Pat at a Mexican restaurant and had a buffet lunch, which was very good. I took Stacey to the bank to take care of some business and then Pat took her to Sam's Club for some shopping. It has been a busy day.
Janet, it sounds like Beth is making significant progress now more quickly. Glad she is able to be in a chair for awhile.
Well, today is Marbeth's laundry day up at the laundry room (about a block away in the mobile park here). While she's up there doing that, I'll be down here finishing up my outline for the sermon tomorrow. It's about our Lord's interpretation of the Law of God as contrasted to that of the Pharisees/Scribes. It's from "The Sermon on the Mount." Pray for me, and pray for the people - that we might all hear our Lord speaking to us.
Hello from Wichita in Central Kansas.
We got another disappointment yesterday evening. A doctor (new one to us) came in and said that Dr. Jost (Beth's main surgeon) said he MIGHT get in to see her either Monday or Tuesday. And I said, "If he doesn't forget." :-\ She (the Dr.) also said that the care home in Ulysses will not take Beth back as long as she has the mallencot tube. I talked to them about it, and they didn't tell me that. :( So it is back to waiting.....and waiting....and waiting..............
I think I had a yogurt machine once, years ago.......wonder what happened to it? We also had one of those sprouters. We love sprouts.
Day 50 now............... ???
Kass Phoned at 6:40 AM and is still sick. Wish I was there to help her out. We have to leave this up to the military to sort out.
Janet I am sorry about your waiting . I know what that is like. Can Darryl confirm this with Ulysses See if there is a communication breakdown between institutions? I am continuing to pray.
John's meals are done. I am ready early this week.
Well Have to go. Be back later.

Cloudy then sunny here in Indiana. Cool. It is only 64 degrees!
Kitty called last evening after taking Katie home. So I went over there and we matted my State Fair entries, another one for a friend and one for Kitty to enter in the basement at the building where the photography is. It is a neat picture. She took a picture of grandson, Alex and of granddaughter, Katie. Then cut them on strips and glued the strips on something triangle shaped. When done if you look at it from the left, you see Alex's picture...from the right you see Katie's picture. It is similar to those billboards that have three pictures because the triangles turn. Hope she gets something for it...at least a ribbon!
Then I went to McD and got supper and to the gas station to fill up my car. $2.34.9 a gallon! Yeah!
Tomorrow I am doing the overhead at church so I asked Ruth Ann to let me know when she is going to church today to set up the program so I can practice. I need practice when you only do it every 10 weeks even though I am taking someone else's turn tomorrow.(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FFootprints.gif&hash=44496580d083bac067afa63bf86e200c298046a8)

Hi everyone. Took Stacey back to her apartment this morning and had a nice nap this afternoon. It was only 68 degrees here this morning with little humidity. It was really nice
Just taking it easy the rest of today.
Janet, so sorry to hear you got discouraging news last evening. Perhaps the home in Ulysses doesn't have the skill level to deal with the tube.
Judy, sure sorry to hear that Kass is ill at her training this summer.
Etta Sue, perhaps you have the winning entry this year. Didn't you win last year with your Fair entry?
Al, I am sure you will bring God's word to the congregation.
Well we have heard from Kass. Her stomach has settled, everything she ate has stayed down. She is now convinced Mom knows what she is talking about when she says it is a stress reaction. :clobber: Lets pray the rest of camp is less stressful. :)
John and I went out to dinner for our birthdays, Swiss Chalet style. (Larry I would have preferred Steak and Shake!) We had a good meal then home to water the birds and bring in Dana. John is sitting beside me on a kitchen chair, asleep, so it is bedtime.
Night all and I am praying for both spoken and unspoken needs here.
It sounds like you both had a nice birthday dinner, Judy.
Poor John......he must really be sleepy if he can sleep on a kitchen chair. Bless his heart. I could never sleep on a hard chair I don't think. Or maybe I've just never been that tired.
I am sleepy already so am headed to my own comfortable bed. Good night and God bless, everyone.
Al, I pray that the Lord's message, through you, will touch the hearts of his children with encouragement and conviction.
We drove from Reno, Nevada today - Don did all the driving today to Santa Rosa, CA. We went to a beach & paid the $6 for a short time to watch the waves - gotta help California get solvent again.
Reno is just so odd that I really wonder about the people. They seem to look like they can't afford anything yet they put money into gambling and liquor - eating out as well. Not everyone, of course.
Janet: You keep getting good news, and iffy news - but the good news is getting better. Yes, I agree. We are gone too often and you haven't had a chance to get to the Den. area at all. Hugs to Beth. Hang in there - apparently you are getting younger looking all the time! Great!
Al: Thinking of you and your sermon tomorrow - it will move hearts and minds. Take care.
Sleepy - this motel is quite noisy. I hope no one parties tonight. We have our own pillows so that helps but in the place last night someone had pulled a prank and the alarm and radio went off at midnight. Nice.

I went to church last evening to set up the program for the overhead with Ruth Ann. Good to refresh your mind in what to do the next day. I am taking the secretaries place today on the overhead. It already sounds like it is going to be a great sermon. And I know I will be starved by the time lunch gets here. I am going to opt for Chinese today! Love it!
And for the State Fair, it is an honor to just get your pictures hung let alone get a ribbon. Last year I did get third place in Color Creative.
Looks like a cloudy day today and only 60 degrees right now. But to get to 74 sometime today. That is wonderful weather for me. Cool at night and not too hot during the day! <_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_>

Thank you for praying Carol. You and Don got fairly close to where we live! Santa Rosa is about, maybe 200 miles from here. We're on the north coast just above Eureka. Been past Santa Rosa many, many times, as well as over to the coast from that area.
Hi everyone. About an hour before we head to church. Our senior minister is on vacation this week so our Associate minister is preaching today. This coming week is our last week without choir practice and then we start preparations for August and a little later Christmas. We are always anxious to find out what our choir director has picked out for us.
Carol, your experience at the motel reminds of what happened at Stacey's apartments on Thursday night when between 1 and 3 pm someone pulled the fire alarm three times and at sometime emptied the fire extinguishers all over the main hall way on 8 or 9 floors. It was quite a mess with the white foamy residue that had to be swept up. She got little sleep and said she went to the lobby at 3 am to see what was happening and there were 8 firetrucks there. There was no fire and they circulated a flyer asking for help in identifying the resident responsible. It is a serious matter.
Judy, nice to read that Kass was feeling better and hope that continues.
Good Sunday morning to all of you. I envy your getting to go to church. I have to settle for church on TV today. One new friend has gone back to Western Kansas for the weekend, and one is really busy with her duties at the church, so didn't have time to pick me up. It's okay, God is right here in this room with us. We can talk to Him anytime.
Please pray that Dr. Jost does get here to see Beth tomorrow, and that he brings encouraging news about discharging Beth. Taking care of that tube is simple--I could do it! All they do is flush it once a day with Sprite!
I have Been to Santa Rosa many times---but the New Mexico one, not California. I think I have been to Santa Rosa, California, too, sometime in the past.
Speaking of motels reminds me to thank God again for the Ronald McDonald house here, where I have been welcomed and comforted.
I went over there and baked chocolate chip cookies yesterday afternoon. They won't last long around there.
Larry, I have just never understood the thinking of people who get their kicks out of vandalizing. I hope the culprits are caught and properly punished. Wasting the contents of the fire extinguishers could endanger everybody in the building, not to mention the damage and expense. :clobber:
Etta Sue, may I go to lunch with you? I haven't had Chinese food for quite a while. Actually, nothing sounds or tastes good to me around here. So I should be losing weight, but I feel like I am gaining. :(
They should be bringing Beth's lunch soon. See you all later!
Hey y'all, I'm still alive and kicking in Mississippi! I check the site daily, usually from my phone (it's hard to post on it though).
Praying for the needs on here, and appreciate those who are praying for me, too.
Just wanted to let y'all know we started going back to the church where we started at, and this evening Terry preached! It was sooooo good! Felt like old times
I still have a lot that God needs to work on but have more hope than ever! God is so good to us, isn't He?!!!!
Janet, I think of you and Beth and your situation and pray often. Bless you both. Keep hanging on!
Love you all,
Later,
