Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Pat, I'm so sorry ... Only God can give the comfort needed in this time ..  :(

Janet ... as Nita already said: I just don't have words to wrap my brain around what you and Beth are going through.  I am praying.

My heart is aching tonight ...   :'(   :'(
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

JudyB

Pat I have passed the news on.  What are the arrangements?  Not likely I will be able to go though.

Janet and Ruth continuing to pray.

Carol

Pat:  My sympathy to the family for the loss of a daughter and family member - a lovely young girl.  May all be strengthened in this trial.

Janet:  Yes, go and find a lawyer who will understand - may you be well guided in that respect.  We have had poor advice from two different lawyers - that is a sad realization.  I am so sorry for Beth's pain.

Al:  The road will be fine to get into the housing area as soon as they get it all regraded and fixed - it just needs better drainage.  We are supposed to get a break from the springtime storms and all will be shouting Hallelujah   How are the legs?  Improving?

Tisie:  How wonderful to see you posting here.  Welcome neighbor!

For all:  Tisie is in the next state but out here we call them close neighbors.

Off to the dentist this afternoon - a 2 1/2 hour appointment so I am taking a book on tape.  Ugh.  Don't expect me to fix dinner - tapioca for me.  We spent hours yesterday trying to watch g-son in tennis match.  A storm came & the match was then sent over to another park - where it was crowded & we waited - then rain came again - finally, after extra hours they played double tennis - he & his partner won.  The partner also plays baseball & a couple of times hit the ball out of the park so to speak.   ;D

Larry Hanna

HI everyone.  Just back from my usual morning routine and have a few minutes before leaving again for the morning.  It is suppose to get very hot here today, up in the 90s with humidity and the possibility of an afternoon shower.  We didn't get the shower yesterday.

Not much on the agenda for today for the afternoon or evening.  Yesterday I took digital photos of everything in our house, including opening drawers and cabinets.  I will be saving them in my Google photos and also fixing a cd that I can put in the bank vault.  This is just precautionary in the event we ever had a disaster.  It is so difficult to recall from memory or describe what you have once it is gone and these will serve as memory joggers.  I don't expect to ever need them but a picture is worth a thousand words.  That will likely be my major project for today.

Pat, know it is a sad day for your family and especially Rachel's immediate family.

Janet, hope you will be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house beyond tonight.  It almost sounds like the doctor's have given up on Beth since the seepage is continuing.  You would think there would be something they could do to stop that as it must be filling her with infection.  I am sure you must be beyond frustation by now.  I continue to pray for you and Beth everyday and to think of you often. Janet, you mentioned that you had free minutes on weekends and nights.  What time at night does that kick in?

Carol, hope you don't have to keep your mouth open for 2 1/2 hours.  When I had my tooth pulled the dentist used a wedge to hold my mouth open and that was helpful rather than having to consciously do it.  Hope the procedure goes well.

Liz, thanks for the info on the Sony headphones.  I have written it down and will check into them today.

Ruth, it is always a mess when the construction is going on but when it is finished it is very nice.  We have just gone through 2 years of road construction in our area and now that work is finished and it is really a great improvement.

So sad to hear of Rachael's passing.  So young but she blessed so many lives...even lives that did not know of her until a few days ago.

Janet ~ Get plenty of rest if at all possible.  Take care of yourself.  God has both of you in His hands.

Today is Euchre and I just got a call from Kitty.  She is to give a talk on Muvee Making at the local library next Thursday.  I think her laptop is dying.  She can't save anything from the laptop to a flash drive or a SD card or even a CD.  She can't print from the laptop.  So since I am going to Euchre and she is going to Youth Commission this afternoon, I told her I would be at her house this evening at 6:15 and hopefully, two heads can figure something out.  She really needs a new laptop.

Off and running!

Pat, I am so sorry about Rachael.  The pictures are lovely and she must have been a very special young woman.  One can only hope that all those students will take away something positive from her life ending.

I am sort of late with this:  Belated Happy Birthday Pat.

Another beautiful day here on the island.  I am going to walk in  a bit.  Have to do some errands at the mall.

About that strange sounding Carpet Bowling.  It is similar to lawn bowling...without the grass.  We use a green carpet instead.  4 to a team, weighted balls, yellow and brown (usually) with a small white ball called the Jack.  Object, get close to the white ball.  Points scored each end (like curling), balls closest to Jack get the points.  Final total = winner.  There are rules to follow and as long as people are good sports, it can be fun.  Not as strenuous as lawn bowling.  I like lawn bowling.....my body does not!  The game does require skill and concentration and is played at the Senior Games for medals.

Larry, I read on Google about the Sony Headphones and it would seem some do not know how to use them.  I have what at that time was the best set....around $100.00.  Cost of recharge battery is around $12.00 for two, from Sony.  After they are connected, I have to always go into the TV Menu, select Video, Options, turn the Speaker Off.  Then headphones take over.  Do the same and turn speaker On when not using them. Only takes a minute.  Sound control on headset.  The headphones will recharge when in place on the dock (or whatever it is called).  You probably already know this anyway....... :)

Time to go and get busy.
Thinking about you and Beth, Janet.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Janet

Good morning!  After a good night's sleep, the world seems brighter today.  I think I am just about to that point where I can truthfully say, "Lord, Beth is yours and I am yours.  Do with us what you will.  I know I am not in control, but whatever you need me to do, I will do.  And if that means sleeping here in the hospital, so be it."

There is a measure of peace that comes with resignation, although there is not much change in the outward appearance of things.  I just pray my dear husband can feel some peace, too.  This ordeal is really hard on him, as well as me.

Pat,  I'm so sorry about Rachael, and pray with you that she did give her heart to the Lord before the end came.  That, really, is the only thing that matters.  Our years here on earth are so fleeting, even if we live to be 100 or beyond.  My son-in-law's grandma celebrated her 104th birthday last Saturday, and I would wager she doesn't feel she has been here all  that long.

Beth's nurse told me a while ago that the resident of the burn unit thinks something should be done about this tube that isn't draining; either re-positioned, removed, re-done, or something.   :-\ :-\

So here I am, just waiting...and waiting...and waiting.  But I feel the sustenance of the Lord as we continue this journey through the valley.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and your comments. It means more than you could know, until you have walked this road, and I pray you don't have to do that.  God bless you all.
:)

Nita

I came in to see if  you had posted, Janet.  You and Beth are in my heart today.  There's not many moments when you aren't lifted in prayer...as we all watch and wait with you as you walk through this.
I can read some refreshment in your words as you have really let go and have just fallen into God's own arms. Feeling His sustenance, as you said.  When we fall, it can only be into Him, because we're His and IN Him wherever we are.  You are such a dear sister, and your faith an inspiration as you walk through this valley.  I continue to pray for your spiritual strength and Grace and Mercy to surround you like a warm blanket.   hugs, Nita

Carol

Janet:  Just checking on you.  Do you have a Patient's Advocate at the hospital?  How about the Chaplain?  I used to be the "get the right answer person" years ago at the request of the patient and/or family.  The right questions and the right answers help so much.  Glad that you are rested from last night and you are feeling the peace of a faith-filled lifetime.  It also helps to write your concerns out because in these short meetings there are sometimes forgotten concerns.

Larry:  Sorry, I just walked over and read the name of the company selling TV*Ears for our listening to television.  I can say that they have worked very well for the price and I do remember Don saying he just wanted to try a less expensive hearing assistance.  It helps so much when one actor is whispering or there is background music - why do they do that?

Etta Sue:  Good luck with your meeting and problem solving.

Ruth

It is such a lovely day, after getting back from the orthopedic store I spent a lot of time outside enjoying the day now that I am in perhaps I will do some sewing but before that I must get a loaf of bread started in the bread machine.

My prayers for all. As Janet said we must let go, and put our Lord in control.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Hi Everybody,

With Pat in mind I would like to say 'Sorry to hear about your loss of your neice-May you find comfort and peace in memory of her for you and family'...

Janet/Beth, remember Christ is our healer, just trust in him-by his stripes we are healed, release your trust and faith in him and you shall recieve...I am glad that you are able to be there, Janet. Both are continuously in my prayer...

Today was a good day, I made progress in the garden, just a little bit more and I shall be done, I'll probably have late summer blooms, that's ok! It will be worth it...

Remember to 'Love God above all else and Love one another'...The greatest commandments above all...

Janet and Pat, I'm at a loss for words, but Jesus taught us to say in the Lord's prayer: "Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven."

Father, I commit all these individuals to Your loving care and to Your will.

In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Morning Everybody!

It's a beautiful refreshing day after the storm last night, though it didn't stop raining til earlier this morning in NE OH...We/this area was ready indeed for that!

So what's up for your day?...

I guess I'll have to stay inside and clean today :(. Cupboards have been long due so I guess I may start with that but I prefer to be outdoors cleaning out there,  :D ;)...

Well outside for a stroll 1st...

Remember to put on your God armor today! Have a blessed day all! :)

Hi everyone.  It is to be very hot here today, over 90 degrees.  So far this morning it is overcast but no rain is predicted.  I went to coffee at McDonald's and then 2 of the men and I went to the gym and walked several rounds.  However, they are having a baseball camp this week and there were about 40 little kids in there awaiting the time to go to the baseball field.  So we walked about half our normal walk.

This afternoon I have to see the PA in the dermatology section at Kasier to see if I can get something taken off my upper lip.  I have put it off long enough and it is quite an inconvenience and I keep cutting it so it never goes away.  This evening is choir practice.

Janet, so glad to see you feeling a bit brighter.  I am reminded of the Serenity Prayer, which I say often.  I am sure we are all aware of it but will put it here anyway:

God grant me the serentiy to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I combine this with my prayer to God that I His will be done in my life and that I am willing to listen for an feel God's will in my life.  Some days I have to stay within the hour or day and not really worry about tomorrow.  Fortunately, I don't know what tomorrow brings and for that I am very thankful.  I just know I don't have to face life along as I have my Lord to carry the burden and take the walk with me.

Carol, I have heard of the TV ears but haven't tried them out.  I do want something that would allow me to listen to the TV at a lower volume while my wife could set the should at a comfortable level for her to hear.  I still have very good hearing.  Liz, it sounds like the Sony set would be fine for watching alone but that you have to turn off the volume on the set for the headset to work and that is not what I want.

Etta Sue

Euchre was fun.  The hostess had a Taco Bar.  Very delicious.  And Brownies for dessert!

And I got Kitty set up for her demonstration.  First, she was trying to put a Word document on her flash drive as 'Save As'.  I told her she needed to Copy and Paste.  That worked.  Then she was trying to do the same with her finished movie that she made.  She doesn't have a program to 'burn' that I could find so we tried the copy and paste of the movie to the flash drive.  Then I burnt a couple of CD's on my laptop.  So we accomplished what she was frustrated about...She has her Word document printed from the desktop and two CD's with the movie on them.  Then I had her to download www.auslogics.com .  She had over 27,000 problems in disk cleanup and we fixed them.  That alone will help her laptop.

Nothing happening today.  Will try to veg out.  Just will say I called the InterStim Therapy nurse yesterday and she said to stop all caffeine.  I did yesterday and have only made 4 trips to the smallest room in my house in 18 hours!!  Wheee!

Etta Sue:  That is something to be cheering for ----  :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :groupwave:

Larry:  Don was in the Air Force - Strategic Air Command - talk about loud jet noise.  I worked in planes as well and I really do miss some things being said whenever there is a loud room or loud background noise especially. Yes, I have put them on just to keep the voice control down and especially when Don is on phone conference.  Our oldest son had a trip to Alabama today & he is griping about the heat.

Just sent in my prescription via the computer and it is such a wonderful, easy and fast thing to do it that way.  I get 3 months per time so we can not concern ourselves about that when we take a trip.

Things are happening fast this week at the cabin - hooray, the electricity should be finished this week.  And, the water guy has been out there to look things over & it looks good for him to finish soon---we were all getting antzy.

:ticked:  I have already composed two long posts to update you on how things are going, and lost both of them. >:( >:(  I will do a shorter one and post it, then maybe come back and tell you the rest.

First, thanks for continuring to uphold Beth and me in your prayers.  I truly know that is the only reason we are doing as well as we are.

The nurse is here redoing Beth's feeding tube, which became blocked last night.  Not pleasant.

Four of her doctors have been by, two of them conferred and have ordered another CT scan of her belly, then the plan is to either reposition, replace, or remove that blocked waste tube.  Hooray!  I had been telling them for a week it was plugged and they said it wasn't. >:(  The infection control doctor got to see the wound for the first time and I told her Beth has a rash that is new, she was glad I told her so she can get on top of that development.  Now for the first time I feel I can see a glimmer of light at the end of this very long tunnel.

Please keep my housing in your prayers:  two rooms freed up yesterday, more people coming in today; I have paid for another week, and am praying I can stay there as long as necessary.

Her nurse just now told me the CT scan is to check for any abcesses, because Beth has been running fevers most of the time.  Dr. Dory told me as long as the waste is coming out into her belly they cannot get the infections stopped, and she will continue to run temps above normal.  That is what my common sense has been telling me all the time, and the reason I kept telling them the waste tube was blocked!  GRRR.

I guess I have told it all again, now I will click post and hope not to lose it again!  Love you guys... <3

Al Moak

Thanks for the latest, Janet.  I pray they'll take  good care of the rest of those problems that Beth is currently experiencing.  Oh Father, enable the doctors to  get the stoppage unblocked, and any other problems thoroughly fixed.  Move them to compassion along with wisdom and skill.

We went out this morning to do our weekly thing at Winco, the big discount grocery store.  We got as far as Arcata, about 7 miles from home, and the car's engine quit running.  We were able to drift up near an exit.  About the time we got out of the car, an AT&T truck pulled up just ahead of us  and  stopped.  He got out, came back, asked  what he could do for us.  He had a cellphone, so he called AAA, and they were less than a mile from us, so they came right away.  We have AAA Plus, so  it was free towing to out auto repair place.  At that place they gave us a ride home, so here we sit waiting to hear from  them about what  the problem might be.  Oh how gracious our Lord is!  Here we sit in the comfort of  our own home!  He is SOOOO good!

Al Moak

Well, just got a call from the garage, and it may  be a timing belt. Depending on that, it could cost 400-500 dollars.  But he'll get it done, at worst, by tomorrow.

Pat

Thank you for all your nice thoughts expressed over Rachael's death.

I'll give you the URL again of the photo website I set up for her.  It's been very popular with the students in the school.

The funeral is on Friday so now I'm just trying to figure out if I can go.  There's also another funeral that day in Toronto that I should attend but won't be able to.

It never rains but it pours!!!

Now, my son-in-law is in the hospital in London, Ontario.  He and my grandson, Andrew, were on their way home from Windsor, Ontario and he went through an intersection with a flashing red light and ran into a huge semi (tractor trailer) and his new truck is a total write off but he's still alive!!  Andrew has been released with lots of bruises but Phil has cracked vertebrae, ribs, and something to do with his bowels.  So, he's admitted.

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

JudyB

Ohhhh Pat How is Janice taking the news.  Are the cracked vertebrae causing any paralysis?    I wish I lived closer.  Let Janice know I am praying.

What funeral is in Toronto?

Nita

Hi, everyone.  I'm just dropping in to say hello.

Al, I'm sorry you'll have an auto bill, but so glad it happened favorably for all the rest.  Being in your own home, safe, feels really good after something like that.

Just ask Jane.

Etta Sue, I have Auslogics too, but I thought all it did, and I looked again, was defrag.  Am I missing something?   I really like Advanced System Care for computer clean up.  What all does Auslogics do?

Jane and I visited for awhile over a cup of coffee this morning.  It was nice. :)

Janet, that one doctor that thought it was time to think of "placement" for Beth must have been out voted, if they are now looking at other options.  God is in control.  If you've paid for lodging for another week, and if they have parents of children needing a place to stay, do they make you leave and refund your money?  I'm glad you are still able to stay there.  It gives you a place to regroup and refresh.

Pat, you sound tired too.  So much happening right now.

We are having some really nice weather.  I should be out planting some flowers, but can't get into it today.  Maybe tomorrow.  The dogs need baths too.

I'm still praying for every need here.  Nita

Al Moak

Oh Father, this world is full of trouble and sorrow!  Our sin has brought it on.  Oh deal in mercy with Phil and Andrew, Father.  Mercifully heal their hurts - all of them - and teach them all that You have for them in all this.

JudyB

Amen AL.

We spent time weeding the garden and after we went swimming.  It was refreshing to get into the water even for just a little time.

There are so  many prayer requests that I often don't know where to start to pray.  God knows out hearts, and understands, but at times I feel so inadequate.

Till later
JudyB

Jane Walker

Judy, we ARE inadequate!  But remember: in our weakness He is strong.  We can do nothing on our own and our Father is just waiting for us to realize that and turn it all over to Him,  saying "Not my will but THINE be done."

There are so many in need just now ... and we are only aware of a small portion of it all.  We only see in our small world way but God sees all things, and He knows the end from the very beginning.  How grateful I am that I don't have to figure everything out.   :)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Ruth

My day became a full one coffee at Tim Horton's then to the chiropractor at 11 am in between all that Auntie called needing a necessary item from the store so now it is lunch at Wendy's  etc etc then I arrived home by 3:30 it is so wonderful that I have a very patient husband.

Dinner this evening was fish chowder.

Etta Sue: You are a very talented lady.

Before coming here I was doing on line business for my brother, I am so thankful that I can help in a small way.  Please continue to remember him in prayer as I feel that the road to recovery will be long.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Pat

Judy, Bill Maw's funeral is on Friday.  I'd really like to attend that but I won't be able to.

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Liz

A really nice day again!  I could get used to having such beautiful weather here on the island.

Will continue to pray Janet.  I sometimes wonder where doctors studied.  Common sense no longer prevails.  My SIL is going for his gall bladder operation next Friday.  That is, if it doesn't get cancelled at the last minute...again.  It was obvious to me that was likely the problem but a zillion tests and months past, before those brilliant doctors finally sent him for the correct scan. The gall bladder is in bad shape, with many stones, and must be removed.  He has suffered terrible pain for such a long time.

Larry, what Carol suggested would be best, unless you both wanted to wear headsets.  I understand double is possible.  Personally, I would prefer not having to use them.  Do like to hear what is on tho'.

Nita Auslogics does more than Advance Care.  You need to read the many options.

Two more large companies have closed.....Eddie Bower stores, also a large Electrical Service Co. that was in business for over 70 yrs.  Plus many people in other companies are being sent home without notice and given pink slips.  I think what really bothers me so much about our society, is the lack of concern so many seniors show about what is happening to younger people.  As long as they can drive their BMW's and continue going on expensive holidays, all is well with the world!!

Your poor President is feeling so sad about Fox Network daring to critique his gov.  Seems they don't think he is God, like Newsweek declared.  AT least I think it was Newsweek?
          ::)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Nita

Liz, the Auslogics I downloaded is called Auslogics Disk Defrag, so I'm assuming there is another program too.  I checked the one I have again, and as far as I can see, it only defrags.   I just checked my Advanced System Care and it has 16 different tools.

edit:  I looked at their site, and see you have to pay for it if you want more than the defrag.

We have had beautiful weather here too. It's almost 9 and I still have windows open.

Nita
