JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Thanks, Marilyn.  The closest TV stations are over 200 miles away, but I would be willing to drive there to do that.  I am going to call our local radio station today to try and schedule an interview.  Also the Christian station over in Meade..........  I will keep on trying, and do my part.  I have told the Lord this is His project, but I will do my part!

I went to a Red Hats luncheon, it was very pleasant.  And the weather is lovely....no wind!  :cheer:

Since I posted above, I have contacted two radio stations and one newspaper, and all seem interested!  I will be on the radio here on Thursday, March 15 at 8:30 AM.  God is working!

Yes!!  Sometimes we just have to step out and do whatever we find to do!  I have been invited to speak at my all-school reunion, about the book, and to sell them there!  Hallelujah!! :thumbsup2:  And Darrel said the paper in Liberal called back while I was in to visit Beth, will call again in the morning!  Things are looking up!!

What good news, Janet!

I was watching CanadaAM, and thinking the same thing that Marilyn suggested.... however I think Toronto would be a bit far  :)

I will be doing the book report on the 22nd, however it's a small group and I just foresee only one being ordered for the Church library.

It's so great that you're receiving inspiration as to how to promote the book. Down here, I'll be sharing my book with a friend who also has a very disabling neuro-type disease. So, I know it will go on and on blessing and inspiring its readers.

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Good morning well early morning I suppose.  I would like to say I am praying for my CP and ask that they do the same for me in the hospital for testing.
God is still in the healing business. So no worries but, prayers are still a comfort.

I would also thank a person unknown what a wonderful thing you did for me thnk you, and you will be blessed for it.

Janet what words and I say about your book, but just sit in awe.  A book to read to be able to see the world in a different light. Amazing

Hi everyone.  I am happy to say yesterday was a much better one than Tuesday.  Stacey was advised that her hip was just badly bruised from her fall and not cracked.  She also learned that the CT scan was negative so other than a big goose egg on her forehead she didn't have any reprecussions from the falls.  She is still in CCU as they fight the infection but she sounds like her old self after getting hydrated and was even beginning to complain yesterday, which is always a sign she is feeling better.  Hopefully it won't be long before they put in the pacemaker and she is able to leave the hospital.  We stayed home yesterday to rest up and plan on visiting her for a couple of hours later this morning.  I did place an order late yesterday afternoon for one of the new iPad's that were announced yesterday morning.  It is suppose to arrive on the 16th. Since I have had an iPod Touch I have some knowledge of how the iPad will operate.  Last evening I attended a short business meeting for the organization of which I serve as treasurer.

Etta Sue, hope you have recovered from carrying the rock salt.  I have found it necessary to put things in smaller containers to carry very far.  I can still lift but just can't carry it very far and basically try not to buy anything in large sizes that would be heavy to carry.  Enjoy the nice springlike weather.  It is also nice here and to get to 71 degrees today with some rain expected tonight.

Jeanne, I agree it was a very stressful day and Pat and I both needed yesterday for some recovery.  Hope the warmer weather has melted the snow piled in front of your car.

Judy, sorry to read of your catching John's cold.

Janet, yes we are very thankful for Stacey's friend.  Wish I had some ideas for you in selling the book but just have never done anything like it.  Have you contacted the NF association to let them know of your book and see if they would put a link on their site for you or would have ideas to get the word out.  Glad you had a good night's sleep.

Marilyn, your ideas for Janet sound very good and I see she has already acted on them with good results.

Marilyn, those were good ideas.

Marlo, it sound like you have read Janet's wonderful book.

Jeanne Lee

Larry, I'm so glad to read that Stacey's fall wasn't as damaging as feared and that she is starting to recover.  Glad, also that you and Pat have had some time to rest.

Our weather is crazy again - temperatures more like mid-April than early March, at least for a few days.  And then another chill, although nothing like last weekend.

Quick update:  While at coffee Stacey called and said the infection seems to be gone and that they are going to do the pacemaker today.  She ate breakfast so it will be at least six hours before they would do it.  If all goes well this afternoon she should be able to go home tomorrow.  The power of prayer!

Janet

Thank you all so much for the encouragement, kind comments and prayers re the book.  Marlo, so happy you like it!  And prayers for your healing continue!

Larry, thank God for the improvement in Stacy's condition, and I pray the pacemaker will be installed without further problems and yield maximum results!  Please, you and Pat, don't overdo!  We love you!

Ruth, thank you for reviewing the book with your group.  One never knows how far the ripples will go when a stone is dropped into the water.  It is up to God, right?  There may be far-reaching results we cannot imagine!

I have to go get Beth some meds they used to provide but now we have to buy for her, also I want to make an appointment to speak to the new administrator about some things we aren't oo happy with at the care home. Also have two more books to get into the mail, birthday cards, laundry soap and bleach to purchase...you kinow the drill!  ;)

Yesterday a lady called me and said, "Beth told me you wrote a book about my Mom, and I want a copy." As you can imagine, I was rather startled, and said, "Uh,,,excuse me?  I'm not sure I heard you correctly."She then explained that she was the daughter of a resident who used to be in the care home, but who passed away several months ago.  I said, yes, I remember Benny, and I know she had Neurofibromatosis.  She said they (family) never knew what their Mom had!  I told her that after she reads the book, she will know a lot more about this condition, and she made arrangements for me to send her one in the mail.  Just before she hung up, she repeated that she can't wait to read the book I wrote ABOUT HER MOM!  Isn't that interesting?  Later, when I visited her, Beth told me that this lady also has NF!  So you can see, there is much to do in educating even its victims about Neurofibromatosis!

Benny, mentioned above, lived a full life span, with only a few of the nodules, which didn't interfere with her life at all.  She was one of the blessed ones!

I must get going!  Lots more to do before noon, and I have been "up and at it" since 4:30!

Larry, I just read your update--and am praising God with you!

Janet~What is the number and the call letters of the radio station you are to have an interview on next Thursday at 8:30am?  I have an app on my Droid that I can get any radio station so it would be wonderful to listen to your interview.  I will have to set the alarm to get up but you are worth it!

Ivalou called me a little before 9am.  It seems that her DIL's nephew was in an accident on the way to school.  Linda and her mother were on their way to the hospital to see how Jacob is doing.  A few minutes later Ivalou called back.  It isn't official but she was told that a man that lives on Cyntheanne Road said it was a fatal accident.  I can't find anything on the internet yet.  So pray for Jacob and his family.  Jacob is a Senior in high school this year.

Today is my class luncheon.  I put the address in the GPS and it says it is 52 minutes away.  I am hoping that Kitty goes with me.  She has an appointment at 9am, lunch at noon, another appointment at 4pm and has to be home by 6:30pm for a carpenter to come.  Whew!  And it is raining cats and dogs and Kitty dislikes driving in the rain very much!!

Last night was Crochet Angels.  There were four of us there...a new crocheter...she crochets but new to the group and three others.  A nice time and visit.

I am off to see if I can find anything online about Jacob!  Jacob is a boy scout...maybe Eagle scout now...and I used to get popcorn from him every year!  A great kid...handsome guy!

I'm so sorry about that accident, Etta Sue. Will pray that each person affected will receive God's comfort and love during this time.

Yes, Janet, it's odd how the word spreads about your book!

Marlo, I'll be praying for you, too. And, for Stacey. Hopefully this pacemaker will make a big difference for her.

Well, sorry I haven't answered everyone, but know I love each of you and read every word from my little "roundtable" group here in CP.

Morning folks.

Janet what about sending a book to Huntley Street, CTS TV  If they want6 to interview you they could do that by webcam!  That would get the news out across Canada.  YOu can get all the info here  http://www.ctstv.com/ .

Larry We know watching your daughter and the prayer raised for her that prayer works!  Continuing to pray.

Etta Sue Keep us updated about the accident.

Hi to everyone else.

Now here & I have asked another cousin for lunch on Sunday and Tuesday our friends will be here for a few days with his Mayo Clinic appointments.

Larry:  Checking in here on Stacey and her procedure.  Praying for good healing and best results.

Janet:  The idea of going on a radio station to promote the book sounds very good.  You are certainly doing things that you never thought of doing in your life -- amazing.

Liz

Hi

Just a thought, Janet.  Have you considered making a small video with your camera and posting on Youtube?  A short story about the book, reason for writing it and the courage of your daughter in living with her problem.  If the emphasis is on the disease rather than religion, more folks will view and God can do the rest!

God Bless,

Liz
CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

What amazing friends I have here on CP!  I am writing down all the suggestions (don't trust myself to remember them all!) and will work on some each day.  I can go like a house afire until about noon each day, then I seem to run out of steam.  But I will keep going!

Each idea has merit.  I will use the list to pray over, and begin to implement as the Lord instructs, hoping to be able to use all ideas.  But how I wish I were more skilled in the techie stuff!  :(  Maybe I can corral a grandson for some help.

I need to make a few more calls before I fizzle out for today.  Thanks for all the suggestions---I love you all!  <3

Just peeking in tonight.

Has anyone heard from our brother Al Moak, or from Janice?

Janet

I haven't heard from Al, but did get a nice note from Janice.  She is doing well, very tired and making adjustments.  She asked me to tell all her friends here hello for her, and she will be back when she feels up to it.

I am tired!  Too long a day yesterday, as there was a big Spirit of America concert in Garden City last night and I went on the Sr. bus.  Sleep!  I need sleep!  But I made several good connections about the book, so I'm keeping on keeping on!

This is hair day, so see you later!

Hi everyone.  Will things change quickly and we had a call from Stacey about 9 am yesterday that the white count was back down to indicate no infection and that they were going to do the pacemaker yesterday, which they did.  We thought there would be a delay until afternoon as she had eaten breakfast but they took her about 9:30 to the cath lab.  We got there and waited in the new room for her to return, which she did about 2 pm.  The doctor came in and told us what they had and had not been able to do.  They got the two wires into the heart for the pacemaker/defibrillator but were not successful, after 5 tries, in getting the third line in they wanted to try to make the weak heart work a little better.  He told us he wasn't in any hurry for her to be dismissed from the hospital because she isn't up to getting up to go to the bathroom due to her severely bruised and very painful hip and he wants to be sure there is no infection.  We do not plan on going to the hospital today as her friend will be with her some of the day and Pat and I are both pretty exhausted.  In fact, I don't plan on going anywhere else today and just resting.

Etta Sue, are you aware that you can also get both the Tunein and iHeartRadio websites on your computer as well as your phone?  Certainly hope that wasn't a fatal accident for Jacob.

Janet, please don't push yourself too hard each day.  After all we aren't Energizer Bunnies anymore.  Glad you heard from Janice.

Jeanne Lee

Larry, kind of mixed results, but it does sound as though Stacey is on the road to recovery.  Be assured of my prayers for her and for you and Pat.  That must have been a very long day yesterday and I'm sure you will both benefit from a "nothing" day.

Etta Sue, do keep us informed about the situation with Jacob.  I pray that the report from that man was a complete exageration and error.

Janet, your days are the exact reverse of mine.  I can't get in gear much before noon or 1:00 p.m.  We'd make a good team, wouldn't we?   :)

Come, Thou Almighty King
(Click to hear music)

"I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters, and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: 'Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.'" Revelation 19:6

Words: Some sources show the author as "anonymous." Others credit Charles Wesley, 1757

Music: "Italian Hymn," Felice de Giardini, in The Collection of Psalm and Hymn Tunes Sung at the Chapel of the Lock Hospital, 1769

Come, Thou almighty King,
Help us Thy Name to sing, help us to praise!
Father all glorious, over all victorious,
Come and reign over us, Ancient of Days!

Jesus, our Lord, arise,
Scatter our enemies, and make them fall;
Let Thine almighty aid our sure defense be made,
Souls on Thee be stayed; Lord, hear our call.

Come, Thou incarnate Word,
Gird on Thy mighty sword, our prayer attend!
Come, and Thy people bless, and give Thy Word success,
Spirit of holiness, on us descend!

Come, holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear in this glad hour.
Thou Who almighty art, now rule in every heart,
And ne'er from us depart, Spirit of power!

To Thee, great One in Three,
Eternal praises be, hence, evermore.
Thy sovereign majesty may we in glory see,
And to eternity love and adore!

John is on his way home. It will be suppertime before he gets here but he has 2 full days off.  That will be a nice change.

The snow is melting, all the white we got last week is gone, and now to get rid of the rest.   Yeaaaa. Spring is coming!

Spring has sprung
The grass is rizz,
I wonder here the birdies is.
The birdies is on the wing,
How absurd,
I thought the wing was on the bird!

Have a great day folks!

JACOB IS ALIVE!  Jacob was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indy...probably by helicopter but we don't know for sure yet.  Most of his injuries are on his head.  Jacob is a hemophiliac and has worn a bracelet for years saying so.  So the main thing was to stop his bleeding.  They removed his spleen...something to do with the bleeding.  They stapled an earlobe back and during surgery they removed part of his skull due to swelling of his brain which is okay.  After any accident the first three days are iffy but with prayers, Jacob will be fine.  They don't think there are any broken bones or internal injuries.  I drove on Cyntheanne Road and there is a huge tree right beside the road with fresh scarring and debris in the road.  He didn't hit it head on but Ivalou said they were told he did a 360 after hitting the tree.  The accident was less than 2 miles from his home.  And get this...his mother found out by looking out a window when the tow truck was going back to the garage with Jacob's truck on the back!!

Jacob needs lots of prayers so please continue praying for him and all his family.  I thank all of you for your prayers.

I had a 45 minute drive to the Class Lunch yesterday...in the rain.  Mostly interstate.  I think it should be a law that when it is raining, all semi's are to get off the road and wait until the rain stops.  Sorry, truckers!  Those 18 wheels sure throw up a spray of water making it impossible to see!  But on the way home was sunshine.

Kitty didn't make it for lunch but we were to meet after her DDS appointment for pizza.  She called and I went and got the pizza and took them to her house since she had an electrician coming to look at some cabinet lights that were zapped by lightening last year!  Then I visited with her until after 9pm.  Bob was in Indy watching 4 basketball games!!

When I was gone to Florida, I had my home phone forwarded to my cell and my cell only rang 4-5 times in two weeks!!  Yesterday my phone rang 12 times!!  My phone payment cycle started the 5th so I took off the forwarding today.  Sure don't want to run over my minutes again.  Did that once...I learned!

Bright and sunny today and needless to say, it is very windy!!  I think I am in Kansas!!  It is still in the mid 30's so still cool.

I forgot...I thought this was very interesting.  The media is trying to make us think we are not a Christian nation.

Topography of religion
.

Janet

Thanks, Etta Sue--that is VERY interesting!

And here in Kansas (at the moment!  ;) ) the weather is beautiful,no need for even a sweater, and barely any breeze.  I'm loving it!

Yep, Jeanne, we would make a great team!  I can get things started, and you can finish 'em!
:)

Etta Sue, thank God Jacob is going to be all right!  Could have been such a tragedy.  Fine young men we need; we don't have even one to spare.  Prayes for his continued healing!

Well, I had a major run-in with the powers that be at the care home, which raised my blood pressure into the range to give me a headache, so am trying to calm down.  Lots of stupid cra* was all it was, but I had my say, and now they should know they can not run over me!  Had it been about my work, I would have just told them to "bite me" and walked out the door, but it had nothing to do with that; it was about Beth.  Basically, it was "much ado about nothing" but since the social services gal, who is rude and controlling, called and ORDERED  me to come in for a meeting, they got the whole load of the things I have been unhappy about!  Not anything about the caregivers who actually take care of Beth; the problems always come from the top!  Anyway, now I need to just calm down and get over it.  I'm thinking they are probably having to do the same thing!

Sorry to dump on you.......... :-\

Hi everyone.

To Judy B and Etta Sue, I too am benefitting from time spent in the water in recent months. Never having liked swimming, I was truly hesitant to try aquafit, but am sooo glad I got over my fear. My back pain is virtually forgotten while I am in the water, and I always have a good night's rest after the outing.

To Larry, I am so glad to hear that Stacey is doing well after her fall. I have had a pacemaker/defib implant for several years, and find it to be very helpful.

A friend of mine, a Charismatic Catholic and wonderful sister in Christ, struggles with the idea that one can put his/her trust in doctors when her understanding of the Biblical Word is that we are to trust God. I have tried to explain to her that God gave these doctors and specialists the desire, knowledge, and tools with which to help Him take care of us.
She is someone who struggles with depression, and is in the habit of taking herself off her meds when she is "feeling good."   This is problematic mainly because she always ends up "crashing" and being virtually unable to function even when trying to do the most common daily tasks.

Re my practicum, I had my first day today with the trainor I will be assisting on the upper level of the home, and really enjoyed myself. She worked me hard, but taught me lots too.

Bonnie
