Come work for the Lord.
The work is hard,
the hours are long,
and the pay is low,
but the retirement benefits are out of this world.

Morning Devotional...
Stephen: Special Servant
Acts 6:1-15 NLT
But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food.
So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, "We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word."
Everyone liked this idea, and they chose the following: Stephen (a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit), Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas of Antioch (an earlier convert to the Jewish faith). These seven were presented to the apostles, who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them.
So God's message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were converted, too.
Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people. But one day some men from the Synagogue of Freed Slaves, as it was called, started to debate with him. They were Jews from Cyrene, Alexandria, Cilicia, and the province of Asia. None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke.
So they persuaded some men to lie about Stephen, saying, "We heard him blaspheme Moses, and even God." This roused the people, the elders, and the teachers of religious law. So they arrested Stephen and brought him before the high council.
The lying witnesses said, "This man is always speaking against the holy Temple and against the law of Moses. We have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy the Temple and change the customs Moses handed down to us."
At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face became as bright as an angel's.

As the early church increased in size, so did its needs. One great need was to organize the distribution of food to the poor.
The apostles needed to focus on preaching, so they chose others to administer the food program. Each person has a vital part to play in the life of the church.
If you are in a position of leadership and find yourself overwhelmed by responsibilities, determine your God-given abilities and priorities and then find others to help. If you are not in leadership, offer the gifts that you have to God for service in various areas of the church's ministry.
The Best of the Bible--365 Must-Read Bible Passages
Thank you for the clean new gathering room for this week. :)
I really enjoyed your devotional.
After Friday's temps of 78 degrees F, tomorrow's is supposed to be a high of only 40 something! And, during the night they said we could get a light snowfall. Wow - come to Nashville and expect changes in the weather. Everyone always says that, for that's the way it is here.
I'm very tired, so will go to rest now, and pray that all will be granted peace and serenity for a good rest, also.
Love to all,
Ruth Ann
I am experiencing something very unusual for me. I do not feel at all well. Have had two "J" nights in a row, and have to work today. Phooey. I was awake nearly all night, fighting whatever this is, stomach problem of some kind. But I fully expect it to be gone quickly!!
Making it through until time to go home sounds nearly impossible, but with God's help, I can do it.
Janet, a prayer for His healing touch and comfort and strength as I read that. <3
Ohhh Janet. I'm praying! Ive had in the recent past many "J" nights. You will get over this.
Ruth Ann enjoy the cooler days, Stay in if you can.

Rescue the Perishing (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/rescue-the-perishing.mid)

Snatch others from the fire and save them.
Jude 1:23
Words: Fanny Crosby
Music: W. Howard Doane
Sometime after [this] hymn became known I was at a service one evening and a young man told the story of his conversion. Poor and hungry, he had walked the streets for want of something better to do. He heard the singing at a mission; he went in; and before the service was concluded his heart broke in contrition.
"I was just ready to perish," he said to me, "but that hymn, by the grace of God saved me."
Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave;
Weep o'er the erring one, lift up the fallen,
Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save.
Refrain
Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.
Though they are slighting Him, still He is waiting,
Waiting the penitent child to receive;
Plead with them earnestly, plead with them gently;
He will forgive if they only believe.
Refrain
Down in the human heart, crushed by the tempter,
Feelings lie buried that grace can restore;
Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness,
Chords that were broken will vibrate once more.
Refrain
Rescue the perishing, duty demands it;
Strength for thy labor the Lord will provide;
Back to the narrow way patiently win them;
Tell the poor wand'rer a Savior has died.
Refrain

Hi everyone. We have had a pretty chilly night but it looks like the next few days are going to be sunny and a bit cooler than last week. There is a severe warning out for our area for tonight for a a freeze and also a fire warning due to low humidity and winds this afternoon. We had a nice day yesterday as attended church, went out to eat with one other friend, and came home and had a nice rest. Then we went back to the church at 4 pm for a special 90 minute meeting concerning things going on in our denomination.
Today should be a routine day with my men's luncheon at 1 pm and then I have a meeting to attend this evening. However, tomorrow will be something else as we have to pick up our daughter in Atlanta and get her to the hospital by 6:15 am as she is having the permanent pacemaker/defibrillator implanted in the morning. One of her friends is planning on staying with her overnight in the hospital and then staying with her for a few days until she feels up to taking care of herself. Her friend is certainly a blessing to us as well. We will go back on Wednesday to pick them up and take them to our daughter's apartment. I will probably be late in writing tomorrow or do a short posting from my smartphone while at the hospital. Please remember her in your prayers and thoughts today as she is quite afraid of the procedure because she has a hard time with anesthetic in terms of her blood pressure.
Judy, it must be pretty cold up your way. Glad John's truck didn't give him problems.
Etta Sue, thanks for the new devotional for this week.
Janet, sounds like you are pushing yourself when you don't feel up to it. Remember you must take care of yourself. Do hope you will be feeling better later today.

'J' nights seem to be popular in this quorum! Me, too, last night but I think it was because I had a cappuccino around 7pm. Weird. I can drink my coffee in the late morning and take a nap in the afternoon. Why can't I sleep at night if I have caffeine in the evening? Duh! So I got up and played games on the computer until 1:30am.
This morning I slept late...I don't know why...I guess because I can. I had my breakfast and then my devotions. THEN I got my sweeper out and swept the floor. Too much kitty litter everywhere! It feels good to know my floors are swept!
Now I can sit at the computer without feeling guilty.
I just got an email from Pastor Steve saying someone is going to be at the church tomorrow at noon to pick up any clothing, etc. for the tornado victims in the south. I think I need to go through my closet again! If I am not wearing them, then someone else can!
Tonight is a meeting for VBS for this summer and council meeting! (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ECrosses.gif&hash=a20248754210521e37b5468eb257de739e5571d0)

Etta Sue more people should clear out their closets. So many could benefit from it.
The furnace is finally catching up and the house is warming. Still -15C outside, sun is bright but doesn't seem to be warming. Even the dogs didn't want to stay outside! Normally I can't get them in!
John is heading to Guelph, won't be there till this evening. Wish he had a car there he could do some visiting if there was.
I am working on a jig-saw puzzle- - - 1000 piece, it is much harder than I expected. Bye for now
Hello everyone. I've been here to read but didn't feel like saying anything. I have been very concerned about raising the $$ for Happy's surgery. the Lord has already sent me two angels who are going to donate to his care. God is so awesome, he always answers my prayers.
I made it through the shift at work, and collapsed in my chair for a nap when I got home. It was a slow day at work; for that I am so thankful!
Our poor little Blue went over the Rainbow Bridge today. Vet said her whole left side was paralyzed, and he didn't think she would ever walk again. Darrel feels so bad about it, he says he doesn't think he will get another dog. This makes three in a row we have lost at a really young age. Each one for a different reason. He will really miss that dog. :'(
Larry, I will be praying for Stacey. She certainly has had more than a fair share of problems health-wise. Do take care of yourselves, too, okay?
I still feel really punk. I don't know what it is, but it surely has knocked the starch out of me!
On a brighter note--Lon came out and put the bathroom cabinets in today; says the ones for laundry room should be done in a couple (or three or four...) days!
I think I'll go take a couple Tylenol and see if that will help.
Marilyn, that is really a LOT of money to spend on a dog, especially when you don't have the money yourself. When faced with huge vet bills, we always talk it over and ask each other if that is a wise use of money, when dogs don't have that long a life span. I know you love your dogs, so it's your decision. Good luck!
Etta Sue, I can't drink coffee in the evenings, either, for the same reason. But I can drink tea, and it has caffeine, too. So what makes the difference? Of course if I drink tea, I have to get up, but can usually go right back to sleep again.
Jeanne, thanks for the prayers--they are the reason I made it through the day!
Janet tea is good in the evening. Yes it has caffeine but most people don't drink it as strong as they drink their coffee, so less caffeine per cup. I haven't had coffee in years, and I seldom have tea now. It seems to make me hungry. Really don' know why. I hope you are back to "normal" soon.
Larry I to am praying for Stacey. You take care and don't over-do it. The house is finally warm.
John has 400 miles in about 24 hours to run, That is typically about 8 hours driving. With this cold he will have plenty of time to rest and start feeling better. YEA!
Well my dinner is about ready so bye for now.
Janet if Happy was in pain and not doing well over all I would ask the Vet if it was time for happy to go to Rainbow Bridge. However since Happy is doing well other wise, his eyes are still good as is his hearing. He still acts like a puppy when it is time to go for a walk. I think it is worth having the small tumor removed so it will not grow and block his anus making him to being able to go potty; and paying for it anyway I can. It certainly is not worth having him put down over a small tumor. Thank you very much for your input, I do appreciate it. I make all the decisions about the dogs since they are mine so there is nothing to talk over with Keith, He loves them as much as I do.
I am now sorry I said anything about it earlier. I only wanted to share how good God is.
I've been thinking this evening about the things we take for granted - reasonable health, ability to bathe and drink at will, eat a bite when hungry, etc.
How wonderful it is that through it all, God is here ALL THE TIME for us, and He cares for us as He cares for His only Son.
Love to all of you,
Ruthnn
Marilyn, I feel like I've hurt your feelings, and that was surely not my intent. Each of us must make the decisions we feel are right for ourselves, our families and our pets. Please don't apologize, you can feel free to say whatever is on your mind in here, after all, we are among friends.
Darrel is really missing Blue, but there isn't anything I can do to make it hurt any less. He will have a lot of dogs to greet him, if dogs really do go to heaven! ;)
Ruth Ann, I certainly agree with you! Each time I visit Beth, I am reminded how thankful we should be for every bit of movement we have, for being able to do things for ourselves, even the smallest of things! And I was talking to a really tiny little lady who just entered the care home a couple weeks ago, one I have known for years---she is nearly 98 years old, but always has a smile and tries to do the exercises they have there. Today when I served her breakfast, I asked if she would like anything else to drink, and she said (with that twinkle in her eye) "Not unless you have a beer!" What a delightful character! She might weigh 65 pounds--tiny!

I'D RATHER HAVE JESUS (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/IdRthr.mid)
(Click to hear music)
I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I'd rather be His than have riches untold;
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land;
I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand:
refrain:
Than to be the king of a vast domain or be held in sin's dread sway!
I'd rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today.
I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause;
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than world-wide fame;
I'd rather be true to His holy name:
He's fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
He's sweeter than honey from out the comb;
He's all that my hungering spirit needs -
I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead:

At the age of 23 George Beverly Shea (1909 - ) had a hard decision to make. He could accept a job offer in a secular singing position in New York City with a great salary and wide respect; or he could continue singing in
churches and for Christian radio programs.
While sitting at the family piano, he started to prepare a special hymn for the Sunday service. On the piano he found a poem by Mr. Rhea F. Miller. He immediately began to compose the music for the poem and used the song that same morning in his father's church service.
He also used those words to direct his life and has shared his song, "I'd Rather Have Jesus" with audiences around the world.
I'd Rather Have Jesus (1)
Forty years ago Bev Shea was attending the Bible School in Ottawa (Ontario) where I was teaching. He loved to sing. After more training in New York City he was given an audition at one of the radio stations and was offered a contract.
He asked that he might sing Gospel songs. He was told that he might use one occasionally, but he would have to use the songs on the Hit Parade.
What would he do? His mother was praying.
On Saturday night she placed a poem on the piano. In the morning he composed a tune for it. One verse was: "I'd rather have Jesus than silver and gold: I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame; I'd rather be true to His holy Name!"
Bev turned down the contract.
A short time later he was offered a position with a Chicago radio station where he might use the Gospel songs he loved. While there he met Billy Graham.
The rest of the story is well-known.
—R. Barclay Warren
I have a recording by George Beverly Shea of that beautiful hymn, and I also have it sung by Jim Reeves of long ago Country Music fame.
Thanks, Judy, for including it here. I love the assortment of hymns you post - a mixture of those I've known and loved together with some I've never heard before. :thumbsup:
Well, I certainly should feel great today - shhhhh! it's a secret ;) I overslept!
It's such a pretty day to go vote - I think I'm heading to the polls right now.
Love to all,
Ruth Ann

I am tired already! I got up, ate breakfast, read devotions, called Ivalou to ask if she wanted to go to the pool today. No, it isn't a good day for her. So I gathered everything together and off I went to Noblesville.
First stop was to take Chemo Wraps #10 and #11 to the front desk at the hospital. Then to the pool. Several were in the water that I talk to so I did that while exercising.
When I left rehab I saw in the same area an Ace Hardware and their rock salt on the sidewalk. So I went there, paid for 4-40# bags and a gentleman put them in the car for me.
While eating lunch at Bob Evans, I decided to send an email to all the church members with email and ask if anyone would come get the bags of salt out of my car, into the basement and into the softener.
When I got home, I parked the car in the drive. I brought in my swim bag and purse and out the back door I went after propping the outside door open. I carried in two bags of salt and down the steps and dumped them in the softener. The other two bags are sitting at the top of the stairs. I guess I am just too impatient to wait for someone else to do it for me!! Now I need to relax in the warm water at the pool again!
Now here I am at the computer. When I get done doing my routine on the computer, I will start Chemo Wrap #12. I think it will be a ripple one this time.
A bright, sunny day in Indiana with not a cloud in the sky. A bit windy but so far this year that has been a given. And the temp is in the low 50's. That's good!o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0

Etta Sue you have inspired me to go swimming as well. It will be a few weeks before I am able to but that is the aim, 2X a week! I think it will help with the shoulder pain as well as the hip.
I can't get warm today. Furnace is running and hot but I'm not feeling much of the results. Perhaps a hot shower would help. It has warmed up outside, and is damp, I think the dampness is the problem.
Jeanne you are welcome. If you have a favourite let me know and I will see if it is in the list!
Have a great afternoon, I'll be back later.
And I'm also inspired to go to the Y much more often than in the past.
I can certainly understand why Paul said how much he wanted to do the right things, but continued with the wrong ones instead. Eventually, he improved, and eventually, I will too.
Love to everyone,
Ruth Ann
Sniffling and sneezing...I am off to bed!
Hi everyone. Yesterday was a very long and filled with a series of unexpected events. Stacey had fallen four times the day before and had a big goose eggs spot on her forehead and also has messed up her hip. We were able to get her in the car and to the hospital on time but after they evaluated her the doctor determined the pacemaker implant was going to have to wait for a CT scan of her head and an x-ray of her hip and the blood work showed she has another infection. During the day her blood pressure crashed again. Because she required too much nursing attention on the regular cardiac care unit they moved her to cardiac critical care where she is still located. She was terribly dehydrated and they worked on that all day along with a strong antibiotic to fight the infection. We stayed until about 7 pm last evening and then came home and she called about 10 pm saying they had taken her for the CT scan and hip x-ray right after we left but she hadn't heard anything. Pat talked with her nurse this morning and they still haven't received the results but she said Stacey was feeling better this morning. So we don't know what to expect today but don't think the procedure will be performed and if it is not, and nothing else comes up today and if it doesn't we don't plan on going back to the hospital. A friend of hers, who is planning on staying with her after she gets home from the hospital will be with her at the hospital and will let us know if there are any changes.
I am tired today so am a bit lazy and will not write individual responses but have read all the messages and as we do for each other share in the joys, losses, illnesses and other problems that life send our way as a part of the human experience. I do appreciate all the prayers and concerns expressed by you all.

Larry, my prayers are certainly for Stacey, you and Pat. My, what an ordeal. God bless you all.
I started Chemo Wrap #12. It's a ripple this time with the same colors as the last few.
Tonight is Crochet Angels at church and Wednesday Night Live. I doubt if I get to WNL.
What a beautiful day today. It was already 60° when I got up. So the front door, the side door and the spare bedroom door is open for sunshine and airing out! The front room was beginning to smell musty. And of course, as soon as the door opened, the daybed was occupied by two fur girls!
It is windy...it's Indiana 2012..and there are some wispy clouds in the sky. Bright sunshine. Too pretty to be inside but I think I about done myself in yesterday by carrying the rock salt. I even took a nap on a week day! I don't hurt but just tired. But I did it and the job is done! And the soft water felt great in the shower!

Larry, what a stressful day you and Pat and Stacey had. I'm praying that today will bring better news.
I'm hoping today's warmer temps will give me a chance to clean the snow off the car and get rid of the huge pile that was plowed right up to the front of it, very effectively blocking me in. There are errands to be run - bills to pay, reports to mail, and the larder is getting pretty thin.
Larry after yesterday you deserve a lazy day today. Let Stacey know we are praying for her.
I didn't run fast enough....John's cold caught me. I can't turn off the tap , my nose won't stop dripping. I'll be ok though.

Words by Fanny Crosby
Music by Phoebe P. Knapp
Hebrews 10:22
"Let us draw near with a true heart
in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience,
and our bodies washed with pure water."
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
Refrain
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Refrain
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.
Perfect submission, all is at rest;
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
Refrain
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Oh, Larry! What a stressful day for all of you! Please do be 'lazy' today and know our prayers are with the three of you. And thank God for Stacey's friend, too.
I need to figure out ways to sell more books. Do any of you have further ideas? I can't give for NF research until I pay the original cost of the book and start to make a profit.
I am feeling better today, had a GOOD night last night, so am happy for that!
Jeanne, sorry you have snow in your way! Wish we had something wet! And dust and dirt blowing do not count as wet. :(n So far today, it doesn't look too bad, but usually gets windier as the day goes on.
I got everything put into those new cabinets, so no more stacks of boxes in the hall! Yay!
Janet get a TV station to do an interview with you and Beth. Talk to surrounding area newspapers and try to get an interview with you and Beth from them.
Thanks, Marilyn. The closest TV stations are over 200 miles away, but I would be willing to drive there to do that. I am going to call our local radio station today to try and schedule an interview. Also the Christian station over in Meade.......... I will keep on trying, and do my part. I have told the Lord this is His project, but I will do my part!
I went to a Red Hats luncheon, it was very pleasant. And the weather is lovely....no wind! :cheer:
Since I posted above, I have contacted two radio stations and one newspaper, and all seem interested! I will be on the radio here on Thursday, March 15 at 8:30 AM. God is working!
Praise God! :thumbsup:
Yes!! Sometimes we just have to step out and do whatever we find to do! I have been invited to speak at my all-school reunion, about the book, and to sell them there! Hallelujah!! :thumbsup2: And Darrel said the paper in Liberal called back while I was in to visit Beth, will call again in the morning! Things are looking up!!
What good news, Janet!
I was watching CanadaAM, and thinking the same thing that Marilyn suggested.... however I think Toronto would be a bit far :)
I will be doing the book report on the 22nd, however it's a small group and I just foresee only one being ordered for the Church library.
It's so great that you're receiving inspiration as to how to promote the book. Down here, I'll be sharing my book with a friend who also has a very disabling neuro-type disease. So, I know it will go on and on blessing and inspiring its readers.
Love to all,
Ruth Ann
Good morning well early morning I suppose. I would like to say I am praying for my CP and ask that they do the same for me in the hospital for testing.
God is still in the healing business. So no worries but, prayers are still a comfort.
I would also thank a person unknown what a wonderful thing you did for me thnk you, and you will be blessed for it.
Janet what words and I say about your book, but just sit in awe. A book to read to be able to see the world in a different light. Amazing
Ruth Ann keep the names coming
You to Ruth v.
Hi everyone. I am happy to say yesterday was a much better one than Tuesday. Stacey was advised that her hip was just badly bruised from her fall and not cracked. She also learned that the CT scan was negative so other than a big goose egg on her forehead she didn't have any reprecussions from the falls. She is still in CCU as they fight the infection but she sounds like her old self after getting hydrated and was even beginning to complain yesterday, which is always a sign she is feeling better. Hopefully it won't be long before they put in the pacemaker and she is able to leave the hospital. We stayed home yesterday to rest up and plan on visiting her for a couple of hours later this morning. I did place an order late yesterday afternoon for one of the new iPad's that were announced yesterday morning. It is suppose to arrive on the 16th. Since I have had an iPod Touch I have some knowledge of how the iPad will operate. Last evening I attended a short business meeting for the organization of which I serve as treasurer.
Etta Sue, hope you have recovered from carrying the rock salt. I have found it necessary to put things in smaller containers to carry very far. I can still lift but just can't carry it very far and basically try not to buy anything in large sizes that would be heavy to carry. Enjoy the nice springlike weather. It is also nice here and to get to 71 degrees today with some rain expected tonight.
Jeanne, I agree it was a very stressful day and Pat and I both needed yesterday for some recovery. Hope the warmer weather has melted the snow piled in front of your car.
Judy, sorry to read of your catching John's cold.
Janet, yes we are very thankful for Stacey's friend. Wish I had some ideas for you in selling the book but just have never done anything like it. Have you contacted the NF association to let them know of your book and see if they would put a link on their site for you or would have ideas to get the word out. Glad you had a good night's sleep.
Marilyn, your ideas for Janet sound very good and I see she has already acted on them with good results.
Marilyn, those were good ideas.
Marlo, it sound like you have read Janet's wonderful book.
Larry, I'm so glad to read that Stacey's fall wasn't as damaging as feared and that she is starting to recover. Glad, also that you and Pat have had some time to rest.
Our weather is crazy again - temperatures more like mid-April than early March, at least for a few days. And then another chill, although nothing like last weekend.
Quick update: While at coffee Stacey called and said the infection seems to be gone and that they are going to do the pacemaker today. She ate breakfast so it will be at least six hours before they would do it. If all goes well this afternoon she should be able to go home tomorrow. The power of prayer!
Thank you all so much for the encouragement, kind comments and prayers re the book. Marlo, so happy you like it! And prayers for your healing continue!
Larry, thank God for the improvement in Stacy's condition, and I pray the pacemaker will be installed without further problems and yield maximum results! Please, you and Pat, don't overdo! We love you!
Ruth, thank you for reviewing the book with your group. One never knows how far the ripples will go when a stone is dropped into the water. It is up to God, right? There may be far-reaching results we cannot imagine!
I have to go get Beth some meds they used to provide but now we have to buy for her, also I want to make an appointment to speak to the new administrator about some things we aren't oo happy with at the care home.Also have two more books to get into the mail, birthday cards, laundry soap and bleach to purchase...you kinow the drill! ;)
Yesterday a lady called me and said, "Beth told me you wrote a book about my Mom, and I want a copy." As you can imagine, I was rather startled, and said, "Uh,,,excuse me? I'm not sure I heard you correctly."She then explained that she was the daughter of a resident who used to be in the care home, but who passed away several months ago. I said, yes, I remember Benny, and I know she had Neurofibromatosis. She said they (family) never knew what their Mom had! I told her that after she reads the book, she will know a lot more about this condition, and she made arrangements for me to send her one in the mail. Just before she hung up, she repeated that she can't wait to read the book I wrote ABOUT HER MOM! Isn't that interesting? Later, when I visited her, Beth told me that this lady also has NF! So you can see, there is much to do in educating even its victims about Neurofibromatosis!
Benny, mentioned above, lived a full life span, with only a few of the nodules, which didn't interfere with her life at all. She was one of the blessed ones!
I must get going! Lots more to do before noon, and I have been "up and at it" since 4:30!
Larry, I just read your update--and am praising God with you! :thumbsup:

Janet~What is the number and the call letters of the radio station you are to have an interview on next Thursday at 8:30am? I have an app on my Droid that I can get any radio station so it would be wonderful to listen to your interview. I will have to set the alarm to get up but you are worth it!
Ivalou called me a little before 9am. It seems that her DIL's nephew was in an accident on the way to school. Linda and her mother were on their way to the hospital to see how Jacob is doing. A few minutes later Ivalou called back. It isn't official but she was told that a man that lives on Cyntheanne Road said it was a fatal accident. I can't find anything on the internet yet. So pray for Jacob and his family. Jacob is a Senior in high school this year.
Today is my class luncheon. I put the address in the GPS and it says it is 52 minutes away. I am hoping that Kitty goes with me. She has an appointment at 9am, lunch at noon, another appointment at 4pm and has to be home by 6:30pm for a carpenter to come. Whew! And it is raining cats and dogs and Kitty dislikes driving in the rain very much!!
Last night was Crochet Angels. There were four of us there...a new crocheter...she crochets but new to the group and three others. A nice time and visit.
I am off to see if I can find anything online about Jacob! Jacob is a boy scout...maybe Eagle scout now...and I used to get popcorn from him every year! A great kid...handsome guy!>^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^<

I'm so sorry about that accident, Etta Sue. Will pray that each person affected will receive God's comfort and love during this time.
Yes, Janet, it's odd how the word spreads about your book!
Marlo, I'll be praying for you, too. And, for Stacey. Hopefully this pacemaker will make a big difference for her.
Well, sorry I haven't answered everyone, but know I love each of you and read every word from my little "roundtable" group here in CP.
Ruth Ann
Morning folks.
Janet what about sending a book to Huntley Street, CTS TV If they want6 to interview you they could do that by webcam! That would get the news out across Canada. YOu can get all the info here http://www.ctstv.com/ .
Larry We know watching your daughter and the prayer raised for her that prayer works! Continuing to pray.
Etta Sue Keep us updated about the accident.

I enjoy watching Huntley Street on one of our christian channels. Yes, they do great work.

Now here & I have asked another cousin for lunch on Sunday and Tuesday our friends will be here for a few days with his Mayo Clinic appointments.
Larry: Checking in here on Stacey and her procedure. Praying for good healing and best results.
Janet: The idea of going on a radio station to promote the book sounds very good. You are certainly doing things that you never thought of doing in your life -- amazing.
Hi
Just a thought, Janet. Have you considered making a small video with your camera and posting on Youtube? A short story about the book, reason for writing it and the courage of your daughter in living with her problem. If the emphasis is on the disease rather than religion, more folks will view and God can do the rest!
God Bless,
Liz
What amazing friends I have here on CP! I am writing down all the suggestions (don't trust myself to remember them all!) and will work on some each day. I can go like a house afire until about noon each day, then I seem to run out of steam. But I will keep going!
Each idea has merit. I will use the list to pray over, and begin to implement as the Lord instructs, hoping to be able to use all ideas. But how I wish I were more skilled in the techie stuff! :( Maybe I can corral a grandson for some help.
I need to make a few more calls before I fizzle out for today. Thanks for all the suggestions---I love you all! <3
Just peeking in tonight.
Has anyone heard from our brother Al Moak, or from Janice?
Love to y'all,
Ruth Ann
I haven't heard from Al, but did get a nice note from Janice. She is doing well, very tired and making adjustments. She asked me to tell all her friends here hello for her, and she will be back when she feels up to it.
I am tired! Too long a day yesterday, as there was a big Spirit of America concert in Garden City last night and I went on the Sr. bus. Sleep! I need sleep! But I made several good connections about the book, so I'm keeping on keeping on!
This is hair day, so see you later!
Hi everyone. Will things change quickly and we had a call from Stacey about 9 am yesterday that the white count was back down to indicate no infection and that they were going to do the pacemaker yesterday, which they did. We thought there would be a delay until afternoon as she had eaten breakfast but they took her about 9:30 to the cath lab. We got there and waited in the new room for her to return, which she did about 2 pm. The doctor came in and told us what they had and had not been able to do. They got the two wires into the heart for the pacemaker/defibrillator but were not successful, after 5 tries, in getting the third line in they wanted to try to make the weak heart work a little better. He told us he wasn't in any hurry for her to be dismissed from the hospital because she isn't up to getting up to go to the bathroom due to her severely bruised and very painful hip and he wants to be sure there is no infection. We do not plan on going to the hospital today as her friend will be with her some of the day and Pat and I are both pretty exhausted. In fact, I don't plan on going anywhere else today and just resting.
Etta Sue, are you aware that you can also get both the Tunein and iHeartRadio websites on your computer as well as your phone? Certainly hope that wasn't a fatal accident for Jacob.
Janet, please don't push yourself too hard each day. After all we aren't Energizer Bunnies anymore. Glad you heard from Janice.
Larry, kind of mixed results, but it does sound as though Stacey is on the road to recovery. Be assured of my prayers for her and for you and Pat. That must have been a very long day yesterday and I'm sure you will both benefit from a "nothing" day.
Etta Sue, do keep us informed about the situation with Jacob. I pray that the report from that man was a complete exageration and error.
Janet, your days are the exact reverse of mine. I can't get in gear much before noon or 1:00 p.m. We'd make a good team, wouldn't we? :)

Music: "Italian Hymn," Felice de Giardini, in The Collection of Psalm and Hymn Tunes Sung at the Chapel of the Lock Hospital, 1769
Come, Thou almighty King,
Help us Thy Name to sing, help us to praise!
Father all glorious, over all victorious,
Come and reign over us, Ancient of Days!
Jesus, our Lord, arise,
Scatter our enemies, and make them fall;
Let Thine almighty aid our sure defense be made,
Souls on Thee be stayed; Lord, hear our call.
Come, Thou incarnate Word,
Gird on Thy mighty sword, our prayer attend!
Come, and Thy people bless, and give Thy Word success,
Spirit of holiness, on us descend!
Come, holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear in this glad hour.
Thou Who almighty art, now rule in every heart,
And ne'er from us depart, Spirit of power!
To Thee, great One in Three,
Eternal praises be, hence, evermore.
Thy sovereign majesty may we in glory see,
And to eternity love and adore!

John is on his way home. It will be suppertime before he gets here but he has 2 full days off. That will be a nice change.
The snow is melting, all the white we got last week is gone, and now to get rid of the rest. Yeaaaa. Spring is coming!
Spring has sprung
The grass is rizz,
I wonder here the birdies is.
The birdies is on the wing,
How absurd,
I thought the wing was on the bird!
Have a great day folks!

JACOB IS ALIVE! Jacob was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indy...probably by helicopter but we don't know for sure yet. Most of his injuries are on his head. Jacob is a hemophiliac and has worn a bracelet for years saying so. So the main thing was to stop his bleeding. They removed his spleen...something to do with the bleeding. They stapled an earlobe back and during surgery they removed part of his skull due to swelling of his brain which is okay. After any accident the first three days are iffy but with prayers, Jacob will be fine. They don't think there are any broken bones or internal injuries. I drove on Cyntheanne Road and there is a huge tree right beside the road with fresh scarring and debris in the road. He didn't hit it head on but Ivalou said they were told he did a 360 after hitting the tree. The accident was less than 2 miles from his home. And get this...his mother found out by looking out a window when the tow truck was going back to the garage with Jacob's truck on the back!!
Jacob needs lots of prayers so please continue praying for him and all his family. I thank all of you for your prayers.
I had a 45 minute drive to the Class Lunch yesterday...in the rain. Mostly interstate. I think it should be a law that when it is raining, all semi's are to get off the road and wait until the rain stops. Sorry, truckers! Those 18 wheels sure throw up a spray of water making it impossible to see! But on the way home was sunshine.
Kitty didn't make it for lunch but we were to meet after her DDS appointment for pizza. She called and I went and got the pizza and took them to her house since she had an electrician coming to look at some cabinet lights that were zapped by lightening last year! Then I visited with her until after 9pm. Bob was in Indy watching 4 basketball games!!
When I was gone to Florida, I had my home phone forwarded to my cell and my cell only rang 4-5 times in two weeks!! Yesterday my phone rang 12 times!! My phone payment cycle started the 5th so I took off the forwarding today. Sure don't want to run over my minutes again. Did that once...I learned!
Bright and sunny today and needless to say, it is very windy!! I think I am in Kansas!! It is still in the mid 30's so still cool.

I forgot...I thought this was very interesting. The media is trying to make us think we are not a Christian nation.

.
Thanks, Etta Sue--that is VERY interesting!
And here in Kansas (at the moment! ;) ) the weather is beautiful,no need for even a sweater, and barely any breeze. I'm loving it!
Yep, Jeanne, we would make a great team! I can get things started, and you can finish 'em!
:)
Etta Sue, thank God Jacob is going to be all right! Could have been such a tragedy. Fine young men we need; we don't have even one to spare. Prayes for his continued healing!
Well, I had a major run-in with the powers that be at the care home, which raised my blood pressure into the range to give me a headache, so am trying to calm down. Lots of stupid cra* was all it was, but I had my say, and now they should know they can not run over me! Had it been about my work, I would have just told them to "bite me" and walked out the door, but it had nothing to do with that; it was about Beth. Basically, it was "much ado about nothing" but since the social services gal, who is rude and controlling, called and ORDERED me to come in for a meeting, they got the whole load of the things I have been unhappy about! Not anything about the caregivers who actually take care of Beth; the problems always come from the top! Anyway, now I need to just calm down and get over it. I'm thinking they are probably having to do the same thing!
Sorry to dump on you.......... :-\
Hi, friends, bad headache all day, so not much to say today.
Love to all,
Ruth Ann
Hi everyone.
To Judy B and Etta Sue, I too am benefitting from time spent in the water in recent months. Never having liked swimming, I was truly hesitant to try aquafit, but am sooo glad I got over my fear. My back pain is virtually forgotten while I am in the water, and I always have a good night's rest after the outing.
To Larry, I am so glad to hear that Stacey is doing well after her fall. I have had a pacemaker/defib implant for several years, and find it to be very helpful.
A friend of mine, a Charismatic Catholic and wonderful sister in Christ, struggles with the idea that one can put his/her trust in doctors when her understanding of the Biblical Word is that we are to trust God. I have tried to explain to her that God gave these doctors and specialists the desire, knowledge, and tools with which to help Him take care of us.
She is someone who struggles with depression, and is in the habit of taking herself off her meds when she is "feeling good." This is problematic mainly because she always ends up "crashing" and being virtually unable to function even when trying to do the most common daily tasks.
Re my practicum, I had my first day today with the trainor I will be assisting on the upper level of the home, and really enjoyed myself. She worked me hard, but taught me lots too.
Bonnie
Forgot to say thank you to those who posted the wonderful hymns. Really blessed me today.
Bonnie glad things are working out for you with the training. About your friend... Check Bible references where Jesus healed the lepers. Each and every time he sent them back to the priests to be checked, that they were indeed healed. If Jesus being God, would do that how much more so should we, trusting God to guide the physicians, and our medication!
John and I had a lovely dinner out tonight but WOW what a hair-raising ride home. Transfield who are supposed to keep out highways clear have left them glare shiny ice. A cop car in the ditch, and further along a transport had done a donut and lay the rig down on its side, in the ditch. (He was heading southbound and by the time he stopped the nose of the truck was pointing north) The ditch is deep enough that the wheels were below road level. When is this company going to get out and actually do a job! OK I'm off my soap box.
Time to head for bed. Night all!
It is 3 AM and I am still awake. I went to bed early and slept a few hours, but have been awake now for several hours. The situation at the care home keeps running through my mind like a tape playing. I asked God if I had done wrong in what I said and did, and he reminded me of the verse that tells us to "be angry and sin not." We are not to be a door mat for anyone---but boy, I dislike conflict! I got up and made myself a cup of hot chocolate, maybe I can sleep a little bit yet before time to get up again. I hope!
Bonnie, good to hear the water exercise is helping you. I LOVE the water! But I haven't been swimming in a long time; must get back in the habit of going. The main problem I have is that the senior hour is from 9:30 to 10:30 and by then I'm into my day, and it just doesn't seem to fit. What is it you are doing in your practicum? I think I must have missed a post sometime. Good to have you posting!
Judy, yikes! That glare ice is SOOO dangerous! Glad you and John are both such good drivers, but even the best drivers can easily lose control in those situations. Enjoy your days together while John is home!
Also---for Etta Sue and whoever else would like to tune in--here are the dates and times of the radio interviews that are upcoming: On March 15, I will be on KJIL 991 FM at 9:00 AM
On March 22, I will be on our local station, KULY 1420 AM at 8:00 AM Please pray that these interviews will be successful and pleasing to the Lord.
I strongly feel that the stress of yesterday was the enemy trying to stop me from fulfilling God's call and plan for my life. So....forgetting those things which are behind and straining forward to those things before me, I press toward the mark of the high calling of the Lord Jesus Christ!
And if I don't get off the computer, I won't get any more sleep. I'm going to my monthly painting meeting today; feel a little break might be just what I need!
Have a blessed day, everyone.
Hi everyone. It looks like we will have a sunny day today after the damp and chilly day we had here yesterday. Yesterday was a day of rest for both Pat and I. Neither one of us had the energy to do much. Hopefully I will feel more rested today. Our daughter has been told she will be in the hosptial at least over the weekend. When the doctor saw how difficult it is for her to even move and almost falling, even with help yesterday trying to get to the bathroom, he decided she wasn't ready to be dismissed and has ordered some physical therapy to try to help her. Because of her neuropathy and the charcot foot disease that affects one of her feet it is difficult for her to walk and now the bruised and painful hip makes it even more difficult. We probably will not go down to see her this weekend but that is always subject to change. Not much on the schedule for today as have most of the things on my to-do list completed for this week. I will watch some of the basketball tourneys that are on.
Jeanne, always appreciate the prayers for Stacey and for us as we deal with the situation. All prayers from those here on CP and other places are always most welcome.
Judy, enjoy the two days with John. I am sure they go by quickly. Sure you are looking forward to spring. It is looking like we will get no snow this season, which has suited me fine.
Etta Sue, glad to read that Jacob is alive but it sure sounds like he will have a lot of recovery. How old is he. Were others involved in the accident? How terrible for his mother and she must have been in a panic. I will keep Jacob and his family in my prayers. I have unlimited time on my phone but a limited data plan and I have an app that monitors it. I have been using the data plan at the hospital as their wi-fi is too week to use. It seems that whatever the Administrator puts out the media immediately fall into line. In my opinion it is a sad state of affairs and unfortunately too many people don't think for themselves or seem to care what is happening to our freedoms and our country.
Janet, good that you spoke your mind so the home knows how you are feeling about things. Hope you have been able to calm down. Remember the serenity prayer. I had to use it yesterday when I learned something that my son has done but it is not in my control or really not my business. I calmed down after praying that prayer. It has seen me through a lot and "letting go and letting God" handle the things that are too much for me.
Ruth Ann, sure hope your headache is gone today.
Bonnie, good to see you posting. I have had a pacemaker/defibrillator for going on seven years and think it has helped me also with the pacing of my heart as well as protecting me from a sudden cardiac arrest, which apparently was the main reason to have it put in. Glad the water exercise is so helpful to you. I used to get in the water but had to stop when found have tired it made me.
Judy, glad you and John didn't end up in a ditch or in an accident.
Janet, there is nothing wrong with feeling our feelings, including anger, as God gave us the feelings for our use. We also have the right to set our boundaries. Hope you were able to get back to sleep and have a relaxing and fun day with your painting group.
Thank you, Judy, for the Bible reference. Glad you survived your trip out on the slick highways. Yesterday afternoon, on our way home from Kitchener, we encountered several spots where there were white outs, especially in the dips between hills and in the open areas near farmland. It was tricky driving, for sure!! One character tried to pass us twice in the blowing snow, after having spent much of the trip from Kitchener about one car length behind us!!!
Larry, I had no idea you had the same ICD I have. It sure has helped me, and I am glad to say I have only had two shocks during the 16 years the first one was implanted. The one I currently have is designed to try to pace my heart out of the irregular rhythm before going into shock mode.
Janet, I am in the process of completing my PSW certification, which I understand is known as Health Care Aide in the States. I have been employed as a Community Support Worker with the Red Cross here in Guelph, going out into the community to help people with their adls in their homes. I absolutely love doing what I believe I was called to do. There are certain tasks that I am not allowed to do without the PSW certification and/or in home training with Supervisor. Also, there will come a time in the not-so-distant future when anyone doing this work here in Ontario will have to have the certification. (For further reference check my recent posts in Prayer and Praise.

Faith of Our Fathers (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/faith-of-our-fathers.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Lyrics: Frederick Faber, 1849. Composer: Henri Hemy, 1864.
History of the Hymn--Faith of our Fathers is an English Catholic hymn, written in 1849[1] by Frederick William Faber in memory of the Catholic martyrs from the time of the establishment of the Church of England by Henry VIII.[2] Faber wrote two versions of the hymn: with seven stanzas for Ireland and with four for England.[3] The Irish version was sung at hurling matches until the 1960s.[4]
In England and Ireland it is usually sung to the traditional tune Sawston; in the U.S. the tune St Catherine by Henri Hemy is more commonly used.
Faith of our fathers, living still,
In spite of dungeon, fire and sword;
O how our hearts beat high with joy
Whenever we hear that glorious Word!
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.
Faith of our fathers, we will strive
To win all nations unto Thee;
And through the truth that comes from God,
We all shall then be truly free.
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.
Faith of our fathers, we will love
Both friend and foe in all our strife;
And preach Thee, too, as love knows how
By kindly words and virtuous life.
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.

For any and all who might be interested, I am back in the rehab facility again. I was home, but only for a couple of days. They got a "hospital bed" for me, but I can't use it at all because it's too hard for me by quite a lot. The first night I got on it, my heels began hurting almost immediately, finally to the point that I couldn't stand it, had to get up. Back to the hospital, then transfer over here to the rehab place. They're going to keep me here until I'm done with a stint of antibiotics administered itravenously. By that time, holpefully, the "bed" will have been fixed and I can stay home. Please pray to that end. And God my God bless y'all.

Ah, Al! I guess you are where you need to be but sure was hoping that was home with Marbeth. My prayers are for you return to home and a comfortable bed.
Janet, I read on FB that you lost your cool. I was kind of hoping it was your work so you could QUIT and never return to the job. So sorry it was about Beth's care...just praying that the immediate care-givers keep on giving the care that Beth is receiving now. Both of you are precious in our eyes and when you hurt, we hurt. Hope you enjoy a relaxing day painting. And also, uh...I slept around the clock last night!
And Larry, I am praying that Stacey stays where she is until she can return home and be able to do the things she has been doing. And I am praying that the future when Stacey needs assistant living, that she is closer to you and Pat. I keep thinking of that traffic in Atlanta!
Bonnie, I think rehab is the way to go for any health problems and water therapy is really great! One, I love water. Two, who would think that I would get in warm water and do exercises and love it! Makes 'exercise' a great word!
JudyB, that black ice can really do some damage. So glad you and John got home safe and sound.
Ruth Ann, I am hoping and praying that your headache is gone...forever!
Like I say, I slept around the clock last night. The bed was so comfortable and warm. I am getting tired of being chilled this season. Be glad when it warms up and stays that way for a few months. Of course, the A/C will be running but...
I got up and changed the bed sheets. I opened my mini-blinds in the bedroom and saw the prettiest red buds on my Maple tree at the corner of the house! SPRING!
So now the bed sheets are folded and put away. I've had my breakfast, read my devotions and finishing my second cup of coffee. I am thinking I need to go to Dollar General for some needed products but may wait until after church tomorrow.
It is a bright, sunny day with half the wind as yesterday....the flag is hanging down and blowing instead of straight out!! Not a cloud in the sky!! It is suppose to get to 55 degrees but not there yet...but it is promising.
I haven't heard anything about Jacob other than he can move one of his arms, still un-conscious. The hospital personnel said his eyes are dilated...don't know if that is good or bad. Jacob has a long way to go...he is a Senior in high school and was on his way to school. Methodist Hospital is one of the best hospitals around so he is where he needs to be to get the best care available. I am claiming before God that he will make it and his parents, siblings, and all will trust in God that God is good...all the time.
DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS UP TODAY/TONIGHT!!@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

Judy, praise God that He had you and John in his hedge of protection on that icy drive home. 0:-)
I've spent several hours trying to get rid of something called searchqu on my computer. AVG never noticed it and Ccleaner didn't find it either. So I googled it and found it's a real doozy. Supposedly you get it when you download some freeware or shareware products but I haven't downloaded anything in several years, so I have no idea where it came from. I did all the things the article suggested, heaved a sigh of relief and up popped the notice again that something was trying to change my toolbar. Grrrrr! It's nothing that is harmful, just annoying. I can just click on the "x" to close the notice and nothing happens - except that after a while it comes back again. So I shut everything down and ran Spybot - that seemed to take forever, but maybe it's finally gone.
Jeanne I got another email about mail....Deleted it immediately. Not going there again.
Al I am so sorry you are back in rehab. I hope and pray this is a short stay
Etta Sue you have inspired me, A girlfriend will be joining me! It will be a couple of weeks before we start though.
Bonnie Does the PSW enable you to work in Hospitals?
I got an email From Gord today. He is still struggling with his hand/arm and will be going for Physio soon. Lets continue to pray for him and Noreen.
Larry Prayer continues for Stacey you and Pat. Make sure you don't over do it!
Pat and Paul have family visiting in VA right now so we won't be hearing much from her. I pray they have an enjoyable visit.
The truck has been lifted out of the ditch. I hope the driver is ok, the rig fell on the drivers side.
Have a great day folks.
I made a web page for Happy http://grafxandmore.x10.mx/59/59.html (http://grafxandmore.x10.mx/59/59.html)
Hi, friends,
It's wonderful to be here and with y'all just before I turn out the lights. :)
Thank you for the updates. Al, I'm so sorry you had to return to rehab, but when you go home again, I'll be praying that many of your problems will have been resolved and you and Marbeth can enjoy being together once again.
I hope Marlo's visit to the hospital for tests has gone okay.
Larry, it's so good when doctors can actually see for themselves the issues the patients are struggling with.
Oh, dear, I'm not remembering to speak directly to each of you. But, that headache is threatening again, so I'd best shut down the computer, and put me to rest for the evening.
Much love to each of you.
Ruth Ann

Author:Â Louisa M. R. Stead, 19th Century
Musician:Â William J. Kirkpatrick, 1838-1921
'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
And to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, "Thus says the Lord!"
Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
Refrain
Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
Refrain
I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
Refrain

First day of Daylight Saving Time and it is dark at 7am! If it wasn't for the moonlight, it would have been pitch black! But by 7:30am it was beginning to lighten up.
I am running the projector system today and the next two weeks so I am going in early. They are having choir practice at 8am so won't have to be there real early but will go just in case.
After that will be Sunday School, eat out somewhere and this evening is Small Group at an elder's home.
Ivalou didn't hear anything about Jacob yesterday. No news is good news!
That's it!^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

Hi Judy. No, the Personal Support Worker certification does not qualify me to work in a hospital. Apparently they were employed in our hospital until a few years ago. I don't know the reasons for the change, but since my hope is to eventually work in St. Joseph's Home or the Elliott/Ellington, that wasn't even a position I've considered.
Yes, the warmth of the water in both the pool and the hot tub is truly beneficial therapy for my osteoarthritis. I am also trying to lose 40 pounds. The photo I use above is from a few years ago, and doesn't show the weight I have put on since starting this job, but both my online research and discussions with my doctor have shown me that excess weight can be detrimental to comfort with osteo.
I did remember to reset the time on my clock, but did not remember to reset the alarm. Soo....I was awake at 3 am and sleepily got up to shut the annoying noise off, forgetting to reset it!! I got up a few minutes ago and would be too late for church. I will listen to the service online later.
Looks like a glorious, sunny day out there. Will head out to enjoy it this afternoon.
Hi everyone. A beautiful day here in Georgia. Just had a quiet and restful day yesterday enjoying some basketball games, finishing a book I was reading and doing other odds and ends. Stacey called yesterday afternoon late saying she is to be dismissed sometime today from the hospital. We will wait until she know about when as you never know when the doctors will be in to write the order and then go down and get her and take her back to her apartment. As I have said before her friend from church will be staying with her for a few days until she is able to get around by herself. We will go on to church this morning if we haven't heard from her by then as can always leave from there when she calls and can keep our phones on vibrate so they won't disturb the others at church. That will be plenty for today.
Bonnie, those people who follow too closely really make me nervous. They allow themselves no time to react to an unexpected occurrence. I have never experience a shock with my ICD and that is a very good thing. This is my first one but it will be replaced in a few months as not much of the battery left.
Al, so sorry the home situation didn't work out for you. We will be praying and pulling for you to be able to get back home soon.
Etta Sue, if Stacey gets to the point she needs assisted living then we would try to get her much closer to us. Right now she is still independent and needs to be in Atlanta for the transportation system and closeness to doctors. The low-income housing she is seeking isn't assisted living but the units are handicap accessible, which her apartment really isn't other than the elevators to get to her floor. I had no idea the age of Jacob. I reset our clocks last evening so we are in good shape. Pat said her phone didn't reset but mine did as have the computers.
Jeanne, hope your spyware/malware problem has been solved. I am starting to run maintenance programs on my laptop as will give it to my son next Sunday when we meet them at the halfway point between our homes. I want it to be in good shape and it is spring and time for some spring housekeeper for the computers. I shouldn't have to worry about these things with the iPad, at least I hope that is the case.
Judy, I had hoped that Gord would be much better by now. This problem with his hand has really been a bear to deal with.
Ruth Ann, hope the headache didn't materialize and you had a good nights rest.
