Morning Devotional...Preaching:
Deadly Rationalism
And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. --1 Corinthians 2:4-5
There is today an evangelical rationalism not unlike the rationalism taught by the scribes and Pharisees. They said the truth is in the word, and if you want to know the truth, go to the rabbi and learn the word. If you get the word, you have the truth....
But revelation is not enough! There must be illumination before revelation can get to a person's soul. It is not enough that I hold an inspired book in my hands. I must have an inspired heart. There is the difference, in spite of the evangelical rationalist who insists that revelation is enough....
In His days Christ's conflict was with the theological rationalist. It revealed itself in the Sermon on the Mount and in the whole book of John. Just as Colossians argues against Manichaeism and Galatians argues against Jewish legalism, so the book of John is a long, inspired, passionately outpoured book trying to save us from
evangelical rationalism--the doctrine that says the text is enough. Textualism is as deadly as liberalism.
Dr. Tozer in Faith Beyond Reason, pp.23-24."Lord, I believe strongly in the inspiration and authority of the
Scriptures; I am committed to expository preaching. So I see the
danger and pray that You might keep me from this error of 'textualism.' Amen."
I just thought I'd put in here a post that Mrs. Barbarian put that I had merged with last week's "Thoughts" but since many might miss it, I'm going to put it in this week's "Thoughts".

To All Our Friends at Christian Photographers: Mr. Barbarian says you have been asking after me and wonder why I do not post much. Please don't be offended. I do use Mr.Barbarian to keep me up to date with all of you. The reason that I don't post much is that I still work full time in the billing unit in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern, the state medical school, in Dallas, Texas. I commute to work because we live in a metropolitan area and we do not prefer to live in the middle of Dallas. Anyway, I work on a computer all day long--which happens to be more than an 8 hour day always, and by the time I get home, sitting down at a computer again is the last thing I want to do. I like to take pictures and I like sharing this with Mr. Barbarian. I really like the community of Christian Photographers and hope you understand if I let my husband do the technical stuff with posting. He shows me all of your good pictures and tells me all about your conversations. It is so good that this is a group that is positive and supportive. There are too many people ready to criticize and jump on others when someone shows their vulnerable side. And showing your pictures to others can really be a risk taking experience! I am still shy about that but Mr. Barbarian is building up my courage.

P.S. I just posted my first picture with Mr. Barbarian's help.
:) Good evening to all. We had a wonderful service at our churchthis morning the praise team that I am in took place today also we had a ladies quartet and also a soloist so that was good. Then one of the young boys plaid his violin for his mother so that was good to.
Yesterday we had a very busy day as we had up to 14 people in the house as all the ladies and there daughters go out for mothers day somewhere special then they came back here for supper so it was lots of fun.
Pat: Hope you and Paul are well. I mentioned to you if you are going to be in the states when we are going to be at my sister-in-laws. 12th. June till the 22nd. so let me know by email. by sis.
To all others have a wonderful week and may the Lord richly bless you. Gord. <3 :cp:
PAt thank you for that.
Mrs Barbarian that is a beautiful picture. Well done and you have done well in posting it!
Good morning Gord. Give Noreen a hug from me. We are all well.
Hi everyone. I woke up this morning to a little thunderstorm and shower but it seems to have passed for now.
We had an interesting day yesterday. We did not attend our own church but went downtown to attend church with our daughter. She lives across the street from the Shepard Center, which is a world renown facility for spinal and brain injury care and recovery. It is a special hospital that has helped many people.
They have a chaplain service and on Sunday afternoon they conduct a non-denominational church service. We ate lunch in the cafeteria there and then at 1:30 attended their services. A lady sang and lead the singing who had operatic training but who has served with her husband in mission work all over the world. She sang three different solos in the service, including the last one to the famous Puccini piece from Madame Butterfly called Un bel dì ("One beautiful day"). She had rewritten the words to a Christian message and her voice was really something and very high. There were readings and a message of hope given by the chaplain.
We then went back to our daughter's apartment where she had a little gift for her mother and a Mother's Day decorated cake that we all shared a piece of. It was about 4:30 last evening before we got home and I was really tired and went to bed very early but it was a nice day.
Pat, thanks for the devotional for this week.
Marilyn, those are lovely graphics in your birthday and mother's day good wishes.
Gord, is the ladies going out together on Mother's Day a long-standing tradition? It sounds like everyone had a good time.
Mrs. Barbarian, good to see your posting and your lovely photo that you shared. It is certainly understandable that you don't want to spend much time on the computer when you have been working on it all day long.
Papa John, a belated Happy Birthday.
Just have a men's luncheon to attend today and then hope to have a quiet remainder of the day with the opportunity for some rest this afternoon. About time to leave for morning coffee at McDonald's and walking at the gym.

Good morning...for a few more minutes.
Just a reminder...stamps are now 44 cents so add 2 cent stamps to those 42 cent stamps that you have in your desk!
Yesterday was a great day! Church, Sunday School, lunch with the ladies at church, a cook out at my g-nieces, phone call from son and Happy Mother's Day wishes by emails. Great day!
Tonight is Kilbuck Photo Guild. It is always enjoyable to view photos from the members. Great photographers!
A bright and sunny day in Indiana today. A little nippy though...only 56 degrees right now! ^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

:)Good morning to all. It is a beautiful day in Canada at least where I live and this morning we are having a snall railing put on at the front of our house it is in a colonial style railings and it looks very nice.
Larry: The ladies going out is a tradition that has gone on for a while and they do enjoy it a lot and also it lets them get together as sisters and all the little ones go also.. :)
Judy B. and John.: Glad to here that all is well. Noreen is still having lots of bad days and the odd good day so please continue to pray for her. <3 talk to you sis.
God bless to all. <3
I would like to say a big thank you to those of you who are consistant in being here each and every day as well as recognizing each and every post. I fail to be here every day but like dieting I try to visit every day then something comes along and then it can be days before I return.
As you all know we have a border (my choice because I opened my mouth) the computer is in the borders room so I only feel free when he is not home which in the day time hours and not necessarily on weekends.
Today I have made bread and a batch of blueberry muffins and considering the time I should be getting dinner ready for Mel & myself, it will be called open the frig and see what comes out.
Chat later. Ruth
I bet your house smells yummy, Ruth.
I'm going to make a batch of Amish Friendship Bread today or tomorrow. The batter is ready to use.
I love blueberries but can't eat them. Really a bad reaction to them
Pat I will have some of that Amish bread!
We need two front tires on the lawn tractor....At $40 a shot. Ouch. Then I will e able to start mowing....
Soon strawberries will be ready and I am planning to make jam. We are getting into eating a jar of jam a week, so that will save the $$$$ in the long run.
I have to run tonight is cadets.
Hello everyone! We returned home last night after a really nice weekend with kids and grandkids. Family is everything, isn't it? I know some who have no family, or only a few and never see them, and that is so sad.
Grandson Mark graduated with a dual degree: Professional Pilot and Aviation safety. He will go to school another year and get his Masters in Professional Aviation. An ironic thing happened the day before graduation--one of the guys who was getting his Professional Pilot's degree landed a plane without deploying the landing gear!! Talk about :-[ I'll bet he was embarrassed! He happened to be a foreign student from Japan. He wasn't hurt, but sure messed up the plane.
When we got back to Hugoton, we stayed for Abby's dance recital (well, for her parts in it). She did a great job, and looked very pretty. (In Grandma's opinion, at least.)
Mrs. Barbarian, welcome! I loved the "tophat flowers!" Those grow wild here, and I think they are so cute. Great capture, and do come back and visit when you aren't computer burned out! ;)
Larry, glad you had a nice day with your daughter, as well as Gord.
Etta Sue, sounds like you had a nice day as well.
Ruth, hello! Always good to read your posts.
Beth is so sick. I'm really worried about her. They are trying their best to get her doctor and her surgeon in to see her today, so far, no luck. She got me one of those cards that you can record a little message in, it was so sweet.
Where is Liz??? I miss her! Come back and play with us, Liz! I love your little smiles and your poems.
I have more stuff to do, best get with it. Beth wants us to come eat supper with her, as it is National Nursing Home Week. I just hope she will feel like eating. They had a balloon lift-off this morning, that was so pretty.
Hello, Judy! I love blueberries, you can send me your share! ;) Tires are really expensive these days, for sure.
See you later!
Well .... here I am just now getting online! I had one of those do-nothing days and I still feel pretty blah ...
Mothers Day was spent in listening to my daughter's tearful phone calls of frustration over her 15 yr. old ... I can't help her, and she knows that, but she needs someone who will listen once in a while and that is what I do.
I don't post here too often simply because I have a lot of "issues" with which I must deal and I just can't come up with much to talk to y'all about.
I do read here (nearly) every day, and pray for each of you and your concerns as I read of them.
Please be assured that I care a lot for all of you and will try my very best to be more communicative in the future -- no promises, though. ;)
Hi, friends,
Yesterday was a lovely day, but very busy. So, it was great to hear from each of the kids, but I'm also grateful that today was lunch with my daughter and also a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my son in England.
I'm surely tired...more at a later time.
May God's blessings rest with each person.
It looks as though I'm the first one here this morning. It's a pretty day here in northern New York, but the sun doesn't seem to be warming things up yet. :(
Maybe a good way to start the day is with a little chuckle - you folks who enjoy golf may appreciate this one:
*Golf Friendless*
"Bob, why don't you play golf with John anymore?" asked a friend.
"Would you play golf with a guy who moved the ball with his foot when you weren't watching?" Bob asked.
"Well, no," admitted the friend.
"Neither will John," replied Bob.
*Thanks to Pastor Tim for this joke!*

A calm and sunny morning here - I have to get some sewing almost finished before tomorrow's hand stitching club meeting.
Mother's Day was so different for me. One son is building a cabin & needed our help so we rode with him and his wife to paint - yes, put the primer on the living area and loft, etc. At 10,500 ft. we did get winded a couple of times - we had to finish because he needs to return the scaffolding. Paint all over us - no running water or electricity. A fantastic view and very isolated. It was good to help him as he has been just exhausted over the work. That is what moms are for - :)
Mrs. Barbarian: Lovely, clear picture of your flowers. Thank you.
Larry: The best part of your Sunday is that you spent it with your daughter and had a new church experience.
Time to start moving around here.

Good morning for about an hour from Indiana.
Photo Guild was great! We passed out the new rosters and I found out I had been typing 'Kilbuck' instead of 'Killbuck'...two 'L's'... Then I looked at my membership card and it has one L so really wasn't my fault! Also got two new members last night and a few more that were there should be paying but haven't yet!
Before the meeting us four females ate at a Mexican restaurant. Why is it I can drink a couple of cups of coffee around 9am and I can take a nap at 1pm, but when I drink a caffeinated drink for dinner, I can't get to sleep that night? I got back up and watched the two hour show of 'Dancing with the Stars'.
Today is bright and sunny. I think I am home alone. I saw Kaye Don and Barb go west in their little red car and then I heard car doors slam...today is Ivalou's high school class lunch and someone drove to her house to ride with her. So I am here all by myself... :'( I do need to go to Lapel to the bank so I might just do that and get me a Subway sandwich to eat! + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Good morning: We have a lovely sunny day, after lunch we will be going to a funeral visitation then following that since it is Mel's birthday we will be going to a Chinese Restaurant in Newmarket, the birthday person eats free.
Pat: Amish bread I would love to try that one how is it made.
Judy: Do you have a tire depot or such place that you could purchase slightly used tires, it sure helps with the cost.
Jane: I do not always do any posting because I feel that I have nothing of interest to say, I do like to be private. One thing I do is some copy & pasting of Etta Sue's pictures to forward to a couple of house bound folk which gives them a little cheer.
Janet: Let Beth know that we care about her. Are both you and Darrel feeling better?
To all the rest have a wonderful day.

Pretty much the way I feel, too, Ruth. ;)
I said I did nothing yesterday but that was wrong .... I put together two jigsaw puzzles. Not too sure what I'll be doing today. Maybe I'll get the vacuum out and push it around a bit.
Ruth I never thought of that...There is only one place that I could get the tires. I will make a call today.
Pat will need to gift you with some starter....it is a bit of a process to build it up into the product needed for the friendship bread. Adding milk and sugar on the correct day, I tend to forget what day I am on. When done there is enough to give some away and make some delicious bread for yourself. I used all but 2 starters, kept one and gave one.
It is a cool day. In this old house we stay quite cool till the middle of July or so. Once the heat gets into the house we find we only need to open the upper windows and the cross breezes cool us nicely. It is in the 60'sF outside but we still need the furnace going inside.
Jane and Ruth, you both have plenty to say. I often feel the same and can tall about the girls. How about telling us what the Lord is doing in your life!
Kassie had her class to teach yesterday at cadets. She got an 87% on the class and with this she has completed the requirements for the level. This means she will probably be promoted to Sargent on the 6th at Annual Inspection. From here on in the promotions are not automatic, each and every one needs to be earned.
I must go I have a lot I want to accomplish today.
I managed to flip a switch at the power box with my heater, radio, iron and such all on in my basement sewing room. This was a first - it is nice and warm upstairs but always feels cool there unless the sun is shining right into the window.
Please be very careful when buying tires - my mother always said good tires are like having cheap insurance. I have seen a lot of cars being driven around here with things unfixed and I have seen some smooth tires. Patched tires are not too safe for our high speeds either. Sorry - I do worry about you.
Good Morning I have baked a cake, washed a few dishes and shampooed my hair this morning already it is now 9:09 am.
We have an appointment to go to the Pre-Diabetic Education class on July 9th. We have the choice of going either from 1-3 or 6- 8 we will be going to the evening class. Keith had a little bit of a high blood sugar at his last blood draw.
Yesterday it was so wonderful to hear from (my 2nd to the youngest) Roger yesterday and hear all the news of the rest of that part of the family. The baby that was born in December to his oldest son is growing fast. He is a big baby too. My grand daughter just got engaged two weeks ago, and his youngest son got married Valentines day and his wife is also expecting. Gerad the youngest son, was working for the big Caterpillar plant in Denver where Obama made one of his speeches. Shortly after the speech 200 workers were laid off Gerad being the first as he was the last hired.
My 2nd oldest was out from No. Carolina for a funeral of someone in his wife's family so he got to spend some time with his siblings, he had not been back to California for about 17 years. He was in the hospital last week in a mild diabetic coma and didn't even know he was diabetic. Their father was diabetic.
My oldest son is having major back problems and the VA tells him there is nothing they can do about it. He was born breech coming out all folded in half bottom first. I wonder if that has anything to do with his current problems.
My daughter ( Roger's twin) is being her usual bi---y self and not coming to family thing where my oldest son is present. She has always acted like she was better than the rest of the family.
My dogs went to spend a couple of hours visiting the people that will be boarding them when we go to Sunriver next month. They will go for another visit next week.
Al I don't know what you meant about my last post being a question mark, my last post was Sunday with the mother's day card and the birthday greeting for Papa John. Would you care to elaborate?
I don't post much anymore as I don;'t have much to say but you sure can't tell that from this post. I have just been busy with living my life and taking the PSP classes online.
The tires I need are turf tires. They are the wide ones. The ones that are on the lawn tractor now have cracks in the sidewalls that have gone right through... Not too bad for 13 years of use I would say. The tire guy that the company John works for quoted us $40 each. that is $80 for the pair.
With the van tires we are very careful, but the lawn tractor doesn't go that fast.... just put puts along.
How nice to read a few "chatty" posts today! I know ALL of you have something to say, and we ARE interested, even if you think not!
Jane, good to "see" you today. Ruth, you and Jane always have something to tell us, and you don't have to get too personal or tell anything that you don't want to tell. We are all such individuals and that is what makes it fun!
Carol, that sounds like quite a chore you and Don helped with at the cabin! And it feels good to be able to help the kids sometimes, doesn't it?
Marilyn, glad you had news of your family, I know sometimes that doesn't happen as you'd like it to.
Thanks, Ruth, I will tell Beth what you said. And I am feeling like my old self again, which is great, but Darrel is still having a lot of nerve pain from those darn shingles.
Boy, my "helping out for a few days" is turning into a full-time, half day job! They called last night and want me to work every day this week except Thursday, right through the weekend. One of the girls failed to show up or call last weekend and really left them in the lurch! (They have an automatic termination policy for no-show, no-calls, so guess she won't be back!) I guess they tried to call me, but I was out of town! I told them I will work until the end of this month, then I'm out of there, as I have my painting class the first week of June, then family reunion is to be the following weekend, in Minnesota!
We did go eat with Beth last night, because she said if I wasn't coming, she wasn't eating, and I thought she needed to eat. The doctor finally showed up, and he said if she wasn't a lot better by this morning for them to bring her to the hospital for more x-rays. She was still sleeping when I left this morning at 10:30, so I will be going to check on her again later.
I have some framing in progress, also need to get sketches done for the upcoming class. And for Shirley's book cover, which she has asked me to do! 8)
Nope, lawn tractors aren't made to go too fast! And the tires do rot on them if left outdoors a long time. Judy, do you have a shed or somewhere to keep yours in out of the weather? That's a big help, but not always possible.
The weeds are doing great around here, and nobody seems inclined to get out there and mow them. :P
Hi everyone. It seems like this day has really gone by quickly. I just did the usual coffee with the guys, walking at the gym and then attended a meeting. However, after the meeting I invited a new friend to go out to lunch and he and I had a nice visit over a buffet lunch. It was about 2 pm when I got home and so I rested awhile. Glad I don't have to go anywhere this evening.
Great posting from you all since I posted yesterday. So sorry to read that Beth isn't feeling better.
I believe it is the connection with each other through the the postings here on CP and our feeling of being a community that is important more than the words we actually write.
I did it!!
I not only got the vacuum out, but I actually vacuumed all the floors in my place. Then ... I just got back from Wally world where I needed to buy a card to celebrate my former sister-in-law's 80th birthday. Hey, I'm doing good today, doncha think?
Awesome Jane
Hi Marilyn - good to read that you are taking care of yourself & your guy - those classes are good. I could benefit by going to some myself.
Hi Jane! Sounds like you had a nice day.
Janet: Sorry that Beth still isn't better. Yes, that was a tough day to paint - we had paint all over our hands & old clothes, and it is 1 1/2 hours each way to drive to that remote place. Coming back (we sat in the back seat of a truck bouncing all the way) and I said that there was no way I was going to cook so just Don and I went to a drive-thru for a fish meal. His hands were covered with white primer paint & we had paint in hair & on clothes - they were quite rude to us at the drive-in. Hey, our money was clean :D I was so glad that we didn't run into anyone we knew.
Back tonight from watching a school concert of 7th & 8th graders. Just great. They improve each concert. Our grandson plays the trumpet and he is in the band and the jazz band as well. I looked for trumpet & gospel on YouTube and found some great stuff. He loves to find new music.
My 94 year old aunt who died Friday kept saying that she wanted to die to be with The Lord - so peaceful for her that I am glad for her and the family.
Janet Yes we keep the tractor inside for the most part all summer...and all winter for sure. I am sure it does help.
The girls leave at noon on Friday for Pitch and Praise at the Paris camp grounds. They will have a good time, and knowing there will be upwards to 2000 teens there I can't wait to hear how they enjoyed it all.
Must run. I have spent the evening reading a good book and lost track of time.
Night all!
It's a new day - the Lord has sent us a pretty one, although it's still pretty chilly. It looks warmer than it really is. :(
I spent some time this morning shredding old papers and now I really, really need to vacuum. Dumping the crosscut shredding, no matter how careful I am, I always seem to get a good bit on the floor. And then, of course, I manage to spread those little bits and pieces all over the house. :ticked:
But the vacuum can wait a little longer, while I check things out here. :D

I didn't do much yesterday but it seems I was busy all day. I did go to the bank and to Dollar General. And I rewarded myself with a cappuchino (sp) at the local convenient store!! Really good.
When I got home I had a message from Ivalou. We have a new g-g-nephew! Born yesterday morning around 4am and he weighed in a whopping 8½ pound and a short 19 inches long. A little butter ball! We knew my g-niece was having a boy but now we have a name...Elijah Tracy...Tracy is my nephew's name! Before birth he was called Bud. So I don't know what he will be called...Elijah, Eli or Bud! Hope he has red hair. G-niece Angie has red hair! As did my Mom, Kaye Don and Ivalou. And my son, Tony! And several other nieces and nephews. Cousins and aunts and uncles. Well, you get the picture...several in my family have/had red hair!!
Gloomy day today. Not planning on doing anything but open to a phone call asking me to go somewhere. Just give me time to clean up a bit. ^-^
Kind of cold here in the house. Not sunny enough for the solar heat to turn on so I may have to turn on the fireplace. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ELgtyt2.gif&hash=769c4962619c97f60e1cb2d08a548ed58bc9e39a)
I kinda think that I started something with tires, we are just in the process of replacing with a resale but if the dealer does not approve it will not be put on our van, but I do feel that for a slow moving veh. such as a tractor for the lawn why not use the used as it sure helps the budget.
Judy or Pat: How about giving me some to the Amish bread starter or is there a way to start one myself.
I turned the computer on to do the banking and thought I would check in before completing the paper work and filing I always keep a paper trail then after 5yrs do the shredding. Jeanne I make a mess as well then out comes the vacuum for the clean up and usually the house gets a real good cleaning.
I am trying to read a book on line which is a first for me, it is good that the chapters are short as book marking is difficult unless there is a click of the button that I do not know how to do.
Mel has just arrived home with coffee from Tim Horton's
It is a beautiful sunny day here in Nobleton.
I worked steadily all afternoon and evening, so I got a lot done yesterday. I am home from work and have gathered photos to send to my cousin who is writing a family history book. I also will take beads and boas to the care home. Each neighborhood is decorating for a different theme, the one I am working on is using Mardi Gras. Beth's is Wizard of Oz. They were having a scavenger hunt when I left this morning, then are having an indoor picnic (probably over by now.) These are all activities for National Nursing Home Week.
Beth is feeling some better, I am happy to report. Her surgeon came to see her yesterday and said that with other patients who can get up and walk, he tells them recovery time will be two weeks, but she needs an additional two weeks because she cannot be up and walking. He approved my moving her arms around; said any kind of movement is helpful. I also got Mom's talking books machine set up for her, with her headphones turned to the volume she needs, book queued up to the beginning, and she knows all she needs to do is get the headphones on and push the green button. Hope she enjoys. Beth got a machine and some books, too, along with a pillow speaker.
I need to go to town and do those errands, then have more work waiting here---when do we not? Do you know anyone who is ever truly caught up? Reminds me of a little story I once heard:
This little black lady was counseling her granddaughter who was getting married and said, "Now, honey, you just don't need to think that you will ever be caught up on your work. You work and work all day, get everything done, go to bed, and while you are sleeping, sheets is a-wrinkling, dust is a-settling, and stomachs is getting empty!"
So we keep on keeping on!
Janet: So true - retirement - oh, sure. I will say that I don't stay up until 11 doing laundry and ironing - marriage and retirement . You had better be prepared to stay busy and not think about it.
Ruth: I'll have to try your Tim Horton's coffee sometime. Will they have it in Vancouver Island?
Larry: Just after you sent the pdf to me, I made 2 copies of the Bernina stitches and wouldn't you know that that is when I spotted my original tucked under one little piece of cloth. Thanks for your help. It is probably a very good idea for me to have one copy in the carrying bag. You were sure Johnny-on-the-spot this morning.
Etta Sue: LOL on your raring to go today. I hope that you had a phone call.
Carol: I am not sure but I would think Tim Horton's would be on the island but for sure the main land they are all over Canada just like McDonald's
Just back from the walk-in clinic Urgent Care. It turns out that it is not an allergic reaction to the Gabapentin for the neuropathy that I am on but some kind of dermatitis. I was given a prescription for a Corto-steroid cream to use very sparingly for only two weeks, if It is still there they will refer me to a dermatologist. I've had this rash/very red eyelids/peeling/burning/itching for 6-8 weeks I kept thinking it would go away and tried all kinds of creams but nothing worked only made it worse.
Just yesterday I went to pick up my prescription for my Advair that I have used off and on for years but had stopped using 2 years ago. It is for my Asthma. My Doctor from California called it in for me and the insurance company that covered it before now wants me to just take the Singulair pills only that she also prescribed. Another case of the pharmacy insurance Company dictating our medications. Bah Humbug!!! to put it nicely.
Ruth I have sent you an email with the recipe for the "starter". Let me know how it works.
This has been a fairly quiet day. I had to go into town to take Kass to a Dr's appt. and when we got home the dogs were all tangled. They are all sorted out and fed so we are off to bed.
Janet, take it easy. You can't over do it with a new job. You really have a lot on your plate. Do you still go swimming? When you were in Tailand did you go diving? Will we see the pictures? I am getting anxious can you tell?
Pat are you still in Canada, or have you headed back to the DC area?
Well it is late and i am heading to bed Night all.
It is early and raining. We had heavy winds last night, that have actually continued this morning. The wind was causing an unusual noise that echoed through the entire house. At about 1:00 the power went out and try as I might I couldn't see where the noise was coming from. You know the sound of metal being played with? It was that sound. I had a hard time sleeping, I wondered if the roof was coming off. Well I did sleep and this morning we saw what was causing the noise. The soffits (sp) were vibrating in the wind just outside our bedroom. What a noise that was.
I took the girls to the bus, it was raining and they would have been soaked before they got to the toad. The bus was a little late. I found out that they know each and every car that passes, which ones wave and which ones speed. The last vehicle that is last before the bus waves and if the bus is running late he will tap his wrist to let them know. These are the joys of living in the country! It is interesting to hear their experiences.
I was listening to the weather report for our long weekend. Today the temperature is dropping to the point on Sunday it will only be 35F and that will include frost at night with temps of 28F. Brrrr this is supposed to be spring! I feel sorry for the people who are camping! Actually I think they are crazy!
Well I am off for now
Have a good day folks.

No, I didn't get a phone call until 9pm asking me to go with Ivalou this morning so she can get a blood draw and then go out for breakfast. I told her if I had known earlier, I would but that I had to get up this morning and get ready to go to 60 Chix. I thought I would finally get caught up with TV shows that I had recorded but I didn't...still behind.
And what a night we had last night! Wow! Thunder, lightening, rain. Everything is soaked today. Water standing everywhere. Sump pump is pumping, too! The field across the road shows an interesting pattern of water in the rows of whatever is planted. The sun is shining right now but it is suppose to rain more today!
Kitty is coming to take me to 60 Chix today. I think we will have a nice crowd. People are home from Florida now! (^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

I have been enjoying and seeing the conversations, seems real nice to just drop in and tell how your day has been going-Very communtiy...but I've been hesitant as it seems like I'm butting in---on the other hand I am going to do a quick drop in...
Hi-the weather had been cold here over two three nights ago, we had to build a fire to take the chill out of the house, had to scrape frost off the windshield for work! As for outside, quite windy. I'm usually out there but feeling a bit overwhelmed with more weeding-turning over, etc, I do it by hand as it is already established flower gardens and beds. But we decided to make an enclosure for my Grandson to go into for the shade from the sun, made out of sunflowers and cosmos-that still may change, but the trench the kids dug for the out line looks quite challenging, hard and clayish....uhhhh, not sure if I'm ready for that and a new bed for vegetables, next to it. that was where the 'compost pile' pile was but now converting to veggie bed...Still needs work, though....
My Grandson and I planted Gladiolas yesterday-What a great little helper and he so loves it outside....We'll have him til Sat or Sun...
Well hope that wasn't to much for a quick drop in---God bless you and your day!
Good morning, friends,
Well, it was certainly a busy day for me yesterday.
First, a car repair. Then back to do a load of laundry. Then, just enough time to wolf down a sandwich and head for the ear doctor. Yep - another infection, so he has me on Cipro and a Cipro ear drop, too. Next was my regular doctor. He "twiddled" with my medications, adding some, changing some, etc.
After that, there was just enough time to pick up something at the drive thru and get to ladies prayer meeting at the church.
Afterward, I visited a friend and took her an arm brace that she needed.
Lastly, had a conversation with my hospitalized friend's daughter.
So, didn't see much of the internet yesterday. <wry grin>
Now, I'm off to the other apt tower for a gathering up there.
What was that y'all told me about being busier after retirement than before????
Juanita where do you live? Your flower and vegfie gardens sound like they are going to be great.
Ruth Ann you sure are keeping busy. I too have really been too busy to do much visiting on the computer, I do go to S&F pretty frequently, and I am still working on my PSP lessons and trying to get at least 1 sent in every day. We can send in up to 3 in 24 hours.
I am not working and I am not going to look for a job, financially it will not be worth it for me to work and not get food stamps. They would stop or cut back if I make about $200 per month.and that is not possible I would be making more than that.
I have Spaghetti sauce cooking on the stove, as load of laundry in the dryer and now I need to go do the kitchen floor, Gotta get busy.
Sounds like you're fitting right into that saying Ruth Ann ;) I, on the other hand, have become more and more "go with the flow" in my old more mature years. :) I wrote, in an email, to my daughters that I felt a bit lazy, and Dot replied "I think you've earned the right to be lazy if you want to." Aaawww.
Today I will be going to donate blood. I was scheduled to do that last month but Joy and John were here and I didn't feel like leaving them for even that short time. I don't see family very often, y'know.
In fact, I am (loosely) planning another drive to California next week. Joy tells me she has made contact with two of Jean's kids and they are talking about wanting to keep in touch with family. That's good news. While I am there I will go on to Yountville to visit with Tom ... maybe have these two along to see Grandpa. I noticed there were no sign-ins on his visitors page when we were there the last of January. :(
It's good to see you here Juanita  I can't remember where you live, but it seems you are doing some big-time outdoor renovation -- earth moving, ;) Grandkids are great fun, too! Care to tell us about them? Hey! You're not "butting in" ... join the group whenever you can. We're here for you, any time. :grouphug:
Carol, you stay almost as busy as Janet and Etta Sue! I don't have all that much energy and, even if I did, there's not any need for it around here. Nothing to be in charge of and no one who needs my "help." :-\
I have found myself becoming overwhelmed at times with the burdens people carry. That will keep me from posting here because I feel mere words are so inadequate to express my heart. I do pray for each of the needs expressed, though. It's just that y'all don't know that. Sorry. :-[
Well, I guess I've overstayed my "brief" visit ... I'll be back, tho, y'all take care now y'hear? All y'all just carry on.
P.S. Marilyn you were posting while I was typing ... Hope your medical issues get straightened out quickly. I know it must be frustrating to have to deal with new doctors/insurance people. Hang in there.
Hi everyone. You all have really been a busy bunch since I posted last. I have read through all the postings but will not try to respond to many this afternoon as have some other things I need to do.
First of all, Juanita, let me assure you that no one feels that someone is interfering when they begin to post. We like very much to have new folks join with us and hopefully post often. In a very short time you and we will feel like we know each other.
Carol, glad you found your sewing card and something in the back of my mind told me you would when you didn't need it anymore. I don't know how many times that has happened to Pat and I. It is easy for something to get covered up accidentally. Think nothing of it as enjoyed the opportunity to practice scanning and preparing the PDF using Word and a free PDF program.
Janet, so glad that Beth is feeling better and able to enjoy some of the activities this week at her home. The book reader devices sound like a wonderful thing for her.
This has been a relaxed but busy day. Pat and I went to Sam's Club and managed to spend a bundle in food items and some other items, including an Igloo cooler on wheels that will be so useful in taking frozen things from our house to our daughter.
Last evening I started using Picassa to manage my photos and am really impressed with it. With each Google Account you have (and you can set up more than one) you can have 1 gig of photo storage and then access them over the web from your Google page. I have now uploaded all of the photos I have on CD and that I had accumluated on my computers. My next step is to go to my Snapfish albums and begin to eliminate duplicates and then download the photos I put up there but didn't keep on my computer. I don't think there were too many of those but it will take awhile. Then I want to work on captioning a lot of the photos. These albums can be shared with others as you wish.
Stacey's job at the IRS is about to end for this season. Each year the season gets shorter as more people file electronically. She has received a call back number for next year.
My eyelids are feeling better already, I forgot to tell y-all that this morning when I was here.
:sleepy: That's the way I feel today. I didn't sleep at all well last night but thought "oh, well, it's all right, I can sleep in because I don't have to work today." WRONG......they called me at 6:30 and asked me to come in. Somebody didn't show up, somebody else was sick, etc.....so I worked. When I got home, I sat down to watch the 700 Club and promptly fell asleep, and woke up when it was over. That makes every day this week, right through the weekend I will be working. Darrel and I had planned to go to Garden City today, but he was feeling so bad when I got home we decided not to go, nothing we need that can't wait a few more days.
No, Judy, we didn't go scuba diving in Thailand. We were in central and northern Thailand, and the good diving is in the south, around Phucket. And yes, I would like to post some photos, but will need to learn how again, as I haven't posted one in a long time. I certainly took a lot of photos, and have some really nice ones. Thanks for asking! ;)
Juanita, good to have you posting! Nobody ever thinks anyone is "butting in" as we just enjoy sharing each others' lives and daily "doings." Jump right in, anytime!
The Activities director at the home had called me last night to ask if I would draw some things on a big board for their residents' games today. Since I was busy working, she came in and took over the re-setting the tables, etc., so I could do the drawings. I would have liked to stay for the games, but came home, intending to go to Garden. It was "Crazy Hair Day" today, and some people really had crazy hair! One of the CNAs spiked Beth's hair up in a row down the middle, then painted it green and pink with that punk stuff. I took a picture of her with my cell phone, have no idea how to retrieve it, though.
I need to do a few things here. If I don't get with it, I won't be ready for my class coming up the first week of June!
Hi all, I have a prayer request that I want to share. My best friend has been having problems with her heart (It beats too fast) They have been trying to fix it now for several years. She is just 40. I texted her a while ago and she said she was back at the hospital because of it. She works in the hospital as a respiratory therapist and today was her day off! She was short with her answers but I asked her if it was bad, and she said yes. The last episode she had with this was just a few months ago, and she felt like she would die then. Please pray for her. She has always been there for me when I need her, and I can't let her down now. Her husband drives a truck long haul and they have 2 kids at home. Her name is Tammy, and she is the one who got Terry to go to church years ago. She means a lot to me.
Thanks,
Samantha
(I put this here because I thought it might get seen quicker)
Samantha I am praying
Samantha: Prayers on the way for a true diagnosis and treatment.
Marilyn: Great - your eyes are better.
Janet: Here we go again - I mean, here you go again. Too many calls interrupting your life - I can't abide people who do not show up for work and that puts such pressure on others. I hope Darrel feels better soon.
Don has a physical tomorrow and we are selling our Honda van - boy, will we miss it but several reasons. 1: the garage here is very narrow 2: We want a really good mpg on a little city car - will keep the 4-wheel for the mountains & hauling stuff. Don wants to go awhile before buying a 2nd. car (shocking idea to me). We can do this with a little more planning.
Did I tell you that a bear was in the neighborhood? They are monitoring the bear - I am sure that the black bear is on his/her Ipod calling in the location.
Wow-everyone is so nice-thank you for welcoming me in...I don't have much contact for friendship outside my little world-God, family, garden, birds, and camera to take pics and enjoy it all!!! I am a stay at home Mom. We have one decent running vehicle-I have been thinking of taking a part time job just to be able to have contact with others...I'm not stuck at home but just don't have many friends close by...So glad I can be a part of a wholesome community-Thank you...and looking forward to getting to know everyone :)

I love for new people to start posting...what a classy way to receive a new friend!
About my doings...yesterday 60 Chix was great. We had 11 people at Olive Gardens. It is a new restaurant and really nice and clean...and noisy! Seems everyone was raising their voices to be heard. Then people started to leave and it calmed down some. One of the girls was planning on coming but didn't. I found out last evening that she is in the hospital. She has several health concerns...one being she has a pacemaker and this ER then hospitalization was due to her heart. Today she is to have either a heart cath or stress test! If you would, say a prayer or two for Billie Lou.
Then when I went out to get mail from the mail box I noticed Ivalou had company from Minnesota. So I had to go visit awhile with Jim and Emily, Ivalou's brother-in-law and wife. They used to live in Albuquerque and Ivalou and I were there twice for the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta!
Then it was TV watching. I finally got caught up! Hurray!
Today is some laundry after making three greeting cards on the computer. It sure is bright and sunny outside...hope it dries up some puddles so I can mow again tomorrow!
I need to go to WalMart for some things but just not motivated yet! ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Judy thanks for the bread email I will give it a try in the next 2 wks.
Juanital: Welcome and keep posting.
Samantha: How is your friend today?
The street we live on is a direct short distance between the junior and senior schools so just a few minutes ago I heard the little ones headed to the senior school for some kind of program, it is a very safe walk for them and yes they have adults along with them. It is nice to hear the little ones chatting as they go.
My sears catalogue is in so I will head out to pick that up then go to the post office for the mail.
Hi everyone. Our weather turned very warm today and it has been nice with no rain as had been predicted.
We attended a nice luncheon today that Pat had some responsibilities in organizing and it was very much a success. We both came home tired so rested awhile. Don't have anything else on the agenda for today although expect Pat to suggest we go out for dinner this evening. She cooked a very good steak dinner last night so doubt that she will want to cook tonight.
Tomorrow I will drive down to Macon, GA to attend a meeting starting at noon tomorrow and ending about noon on Sunday.
Hi, Larry! You and Pat do stay busy, don't you? But if we aren't busy, I think it could get boring. (I'll have to try that someday, just to see if my theory proves out.) ;)
Yes, Carol, I know how you feel. Two things I cannot stand are laziness and not being dependable. :P Aggravating! And....the sick gal was there today, working! She could barely breathe, and was practically begging them to let her go to the doctor! :ticked: Crazy.
Good news--Beth was feeling some better today, was actually up and eating toast and drinking orange juice! She usually doesn't eat breakfast at all.
Ruth, I, too, love listening to children's voices. I have been to a convention a few years ago where kids weren't allowed, and didn't hear any kids for several days. I really missed that!
Etta Sue, I love those cute turtles! Glad you had a good time at 60Chix. You are just a little social butterfly! ;) Glad you are able to go and do and enjoy. Good for you!
Juanital....I am Janet, I live in the Southwest corner of the state of Kansas, with my husband Darrel, cat Dinah and dog Sarah. I love traveling, scuba diving, photography, reading, painting and scrapbooking. Tell us what you enjoy--I know gardening already. :)
Samantha, prayers for your dear friend.
When I got home, Darrel told me our little dog, Sarah, is in the "hospital." Seems she was sitting in the chair with him, started shivering, then shaking, then went into convulsions. He took her right to the vet, and her BP was fine, and no internal bleeding. They gave her three shots before they got her calmed down. He has just gone to see about her. Poor little Sarah..... :( :'(
Time to do stuff, as usual!
Juanital: I checked your bio and see that you are in Ohio. Nice that your weather is warm enough to begin planting. I live near Denver, Colorado and at our altitude it isn't a good idea to plant anything new for a while. The temp just the other night was 39* F. Nippy out there. However, we have some above normal days coming soon. Good luck on your search for a part-time job!
Janet: Beth had a good morning - how nice for her and you as well
Thank you all for praying for my friend. She got to come home this afternoon with orders to have no more stimulants of any kind. She is bad to take diet pills. I think she will need help to get off the pills, but praise God, she's still here?
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FCats3.gif&hash=946134bfe80ffc67e9785028563c07064c1dd8da)
juanital ~ I was going to tell you that we are neighbors. And we are as such as our state lines are common but you are next to Pennsylvania and I am central Indiana. Distant neighbors!
I mowed yesterday afternoon. Funny. I heard Ivalou mowing so I checked the weather for today and decided I should mow yesterday also. Then before I got done, Kaye Don mowed also. It is nice when all of us have our yards neat and trimmed at the same time. And it rained during the night last night and is gloomy today with lower temperatures. So glad I got the chore done yesterday.
I need to go to the drug store for some meds today. I think I will call Kitty and see if she wants me to run a pamphlet to her. And maybe get a Subway before coming home. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m.

Etta Sue my favorite sandwich is a $5. footlong from Subway I always get the Spicy Italian with everything except Jalapeno's and Cucumbers. I always think I am only going to eat half and end up eating the whole sandwich.
Marilyn - are you in Coos Bay or are you in North Bend? And is there a Subway up there? We've been in both places, but not real often. Been to Bandon more often, then usually go on over to Coquile, then over to Roseburg and either north or South on I-5.
It's overcast here right now, though it's supposed to clear sometime today. Then there's supposed to be a warming trend.
Juanita - I'm a pastor, though I have no charge right now. I guess I'm suppposed to be retired. I do preach at our church occasionally. We're in McKinleyville, Calif., which is just a bit north of Eureka along what is (rightly) called the "Lost Coast." I've been through your part of Ohio, though not for many years. We've got some dear friends that will very shortly be moving to Athens, Ohio, over in the sutheast corner of the state. Have you lived all your life in the Ohio area? The only thing I remember that I don't like there is the winters.
Al I am in North Bend although just barely in NB, The Coos Bay sign is just about 2 blocks away, and yes there is a Subway Sandwich shoppe here and a Wal*Mart Supercenter, Safeway, Albertson's, K Mart and Bi-Mart too. We even have a mall with Ross and Macy's etc. Did you think we are back country or what. :uglystupid:
Just don't tell me you have an Olive Garden, a Red Lobster, a TGIFridys, etc. After all, we're on the Lost coast, so you should be on the still loster coast.
GUESS WHAT??? This weekend is the Snake River Birds of Prey Festival and I went down there this morning and I got to go to a burrowing owl lecture and tour! I got to hold baby burrowing owl chicks! We went out to the burrows and dug up two of them. These are ones that are artificial so they can study them. We also saw natural burrows but, of course, we did not disturb them. The babies are so cute!!! I will put pictures up as soon as I can. Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone take my picture holding one. :(
It was such an awesome experience! I'm doing a happy dance today!
 :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Al .... there are (at least) two Subway's in NB and one in Coos Bay, as well as a Quisno's, Taco Bell, several other places of the like ... Nope, no Olive Garden, Denny's, Red Lobster, Applebees or Shari's ... :(
Marilyn, you mentioned the Spicy Italian Foot long and I just had to go out and get one today .... Now, CUT THAT OUT!!
It has been dismal here all day although the sun did shine for a few minutes around 4 p.m.
The afghan that I had started a month or so ago got torn apart and just this afternoon I started one with the wave pattern using up odd balls of yarn and if I do not like this idea it will be going in a bag to forever be gone yarn. The yarn that has been put in the bag will be going to a gal that works with a group making articles for the needy.
Our dinner this evening was pizza, then I think in a little while we will be having a bowl of fresh fruit.
Juanital: I live in Ontario Canada, I drove school bus for many years and in my now retirement years I enjoy knitting sewing along with various other crafts and reading as well. My husband does the yard work and I do the enjoying. We have an adult son & daughter as well as one adult granddaughter our sweetheart.
That is also Beth's favorite kind of sandwich from Subway. And we have one (Subway, that is) here in our little town! ;)
Well, I have two pieces of sad news to report this evening. I told you about our little dauchund, Sarah, yesterday. Well, she was still seizing after five hours, so the decision was made to put her down. The vet had no idea what caused it. Darrel came home so sad....... :'( :'( :'(
And this morning, as I was finishing at work, one of the CNAs from Beth's neighborhood came to tell me that she wanted me to come see her before I went home. When I did, she had bad news....she has developed a pressure sore on her bottom, and it has already broken open. This has been a concern for a long time. She had to stay in bed all day today, and they turned her from side to side.
I was talking to my sister, whose daughter works in Home Health up there. She said they use wheat germ oil to treat those sores, with excellent results. It is actually formulated for use on dogs and horses, but it works wonders on people, too. I got some at a farm store, it has Vitamins A, D and E, Wheat germ oil, and lanolin.........certainly nothing that could hurt anyone. I bought a tube of it and took it to Beth. She will ask the girls to use it on her. If there is a problem, I will take it to her doctor for his approval. I just pray it heals her up, and quickly.
They had a huge auction at the former building of the care home today, selling furniture, beds, kitchen equipment, office equipment, wall decorations, wheelchairs, walkers, etc. It lasted all day, I think. There were only three things I wanted, and I wasn't sure they were going to sell those, so I didn't stick around all day to see.
I need to find something to eat and get to bed early. Have to work again in the morning.
I finished proofreading/editing Shirley's next book this evening. I love that job!
Hi everyone! its 10:30pm EST and I have been busy and feeling quite accomplished...I have my corner of upper garden turned over, transplanted and God took care of the watering this afternoon...I still have one small portion that should take maybe an hour to do...then I can finish sowing seeds, mostly annuals but I'd like to fill up more with perennials eventually...
Carol-"Nice that your weather is warm enough to begin planting."Yes it's been nice lately I had turned over my lower garden about mid April and have been working on upper one-I became interested in flower gardening bout 7yrs ago-by chance...it's like a bug bit me.
Etta Sue-Yay-distant neighbors. Do you travel much?
Al Moak-Mckinley California? is that anywhere near Klamath? That's where my Mom currently lives as well as family in Crescent City?-My Maternal mother's family is originally from Klamath...but as a child we lived up and down the coast mostly from Reedsport down to Crescent City...Lived in land to in Portland ORe...I still have relatives in the Coos Bay/North Bend area, so does my husband...and Beautiful Bandon by the sea, Coquiile and Roseburg...I miss the coast and everything about Oregon....

We even have a mall with Ross and Macy's etc. Did you think we are back country or what. :uglystupid:
Ahhh-is it still called Pony Village? I am so excited to here the names of very familiar places...I'm surprised the Bi-Mart (and Kmart, too)is still there it seemed to have gotten run down after they put Walmart in. I use to work at Joann Fabrics catty corner from Bimart and Albertsons. Albertsons was my favorite grocery shopping place...but I made rounds all the way to Fred Meyers...

Hi, friends,
Juanita, yes! it's wonderful when each poster begins "talking to us." :)
What a day this has been (yes, I KNOW it's quarter to 3 a.m.). Midweek, Comcast recommended that I upgrade to their new Comcast toolbar.
Not a good idea. When I started to open Microsoft Word today to get the PowerPoints done for this morning's worship service, I couldn't open any of the 3 files that contain the information fed to me from others in the church.
Well, that started an ordeal that lasted until 1 minute till midnight.
Finally, I contacted Comcast, and after all sorts of questions and responses from me, we determined I should uninstall that pesky toolbar.
Now, Word works great! :P
I guess I'm keyed up, because I only got an hour and a half of sleep before awakening and needing to get back up.
Gotta go back to sleep - church starts in only a few hours!

Beautiful morning in Indiana! Bright and sunny but cold. Only 48 degrees! But I am NOT going to wear a jacket to church!
Juanita ~ Yes, I love to travel. If I had my way...and the money...I would be on the road every day! But since I don't have the money...or a cat sitter all the time...I stay home. And isn't it wonderful that there are folks on here that you may have passed shoulder to shoulder to when you lived out west? I see by Google Earth, you live in a smaller town than I live near!
Yesterday was a great day. I did go to the drug store and then to SubWay. My favorite is a 6" Veggie Delight on wheat! And since I had a razzle dazzle...a migraine headache without the headache...I got the Meal Deal. That meant a Diet Coke with the caffeine in it. It worked and took the fuzzy head away! I have never eaten a foot-long. Always stuffed with a 6 incher!
Then I worked with the computer and the Guild roster. I love looking addresses up on Google Earth to see where people live! But from a couple of addresses, I see they must live in an open field!!
I am all ready to leave for church. I am picking up another lady today...her driver isn't going today. >^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<

JANET I am so sorry about your little dog. It is sad to loose a family member. I hope you have some good pictures.
Juanita - Klamath is approx. 30 minutes north of here. We've lived in Portland, Tigard, Tualatin, West Linn, and Oregon City. Lived in Oregon from 1959 to 1963, and again from 1970 until 1988, so we're very, very familiar with the Oregon coast. Weather wise, the area we live in now is the best - not quite as rainy as Portland, but not dry/hot/humid like the Bay Area, etc.
Juanita! You're talking about everything I am quite familiar with around here. Yep ... that'd be Pony Village Mall ... JoAnn Fabrics has moved ... and lots of other stores have made their appearance ... I've never seen a Denny's here in the nearly 9 years I've been here. Now, Nita could tell you lots more 'cause she's been around here since -- FOREVER!! :D
It's great to get acquainted with all y'all like this.
Janet, I'm sorry to read of your little Sarah's loss. Did they ever determine what was causing her seizures?
Nice that you can help Shirley with her book -- when will this next one be published? Do you get to share in the royalties? :D
Ruth Ann ... you surely had a time with the PowerPoint presentation ... I think, often, all the "recommended" things are just more headache than they're worth. :-\ Glad you finally got it all sorted out and can get some rest (even if it's only a few hours) ... you can always take a nap this afternoon, y'know.
Etta Sue ... Do you google earth all of us? Next time you do mine, let me know, and I'll stand out in the yard and wave!
Sorry I have not responded to everyone ... it's not that I haven't read what you've posted, I just don't have the time to do that. :-\ I really hope each of you, my friends, has a lovely Sunday with the Lord ... enjoy whatever and wherever you happen to be and always know that Someone is loving you, right where you are.
Thanks, Jane, for those encouraging words. What would we do without the love and mercy of God?? ???
No, they don't know what caused poor little Sarah's seizures. Guess we will never know....... :'(
Beth's bed sore isn't very large, but it is on one of her fibroma nodules. I don't know if she will be allowed out of bed today or not.......
Juanita, what a nice, chatty post! Yep, three of our members are in the Coos Bay area now. You gals could have a "mini-bash!" :)
Jane, speaking of royalties---do you know anything about getting a book published by one of the publishing houses? I'm trying to get information so I can help Shirley. This book is a novel, based on the stories a foster brother has told us about his life; and then her imagination helps it along, too. Really good, but not quite finished yet. She was having a book signing at a Hastings book store yesterday, then another event of some kind today, with Dust on the Dishes."
Sorry about the lost sleep, Ruth Ann, but glad you got the problem solved. Computers can be such an aggravation!!
Hello, Al. How are your legs doing these days?
Thanks, Judy. We sure miss the little dog, especially Darrel, as she was always in the chair whenever he sat down. Dinah the cat is lost without Sarah, too, really lonesome. They were such good pals.
Hi, Etta Sue! Where would you like to travel next? Is your want-to list mostly in the States? And wouldn't it be fun to be independently wealthy, so we could do and go whenever we wanted to? :D
I finally have a day off tomorrow, but we have to be in Amarillo by 10 AM, so that means getting up really early again.
Juanita that Casino you mentioned is right on 101 just past Newmark. The casino is where the mill used to be. I am on tower about 1½ blocks off Newmark and 1 block up the hill from 101. I too lived in Mckinleyville and know Brother Al personally. I moved to North Bend in March of this year. We vacation at Sunriver resort 10 miles south of Bend Oregon.
Janet I am so sorry for the loss of your little dog, I know you and Darrel are brokenhearted. I will be praying for Beth's pressure sore to heal quickly and without any complications.
Jane it is so nice to see you so "chatty" today.
Yep there are 3 of us here in this area now, Jane is about 1½-2 miles from me and I am not sure where Nita lives but I think it is about 3-4 miles from here, I guess it is about time the 3 of us got together again.
This week I will be taking Happy and Bebe to Puppy Love for another visit, I want them to be familiar with the people who will be boarding them when we go on vacation next month. The will be staying at a private horse boarding facility operated by the owners of Puppy Love, They will be boarded in a 12 X 12 horse stall and get to go for walks every day, then they will both be bathed and groomed before coming home.
Hi everyone. I was away all weekend and got home about 4 pm this afternoon. It rained on the drive for most of the way home. It was a good weekend but really tiring. Glad to be home.
Janet, so sorry to hear of the sore that Beth has developed. My dad suffered so with a stage 4 bedsore he had when he wasn't turned during a hospital stay. It finally took some surgery to allow it to heal before he found relief. Sorry about your little dog.
Going to be brief tonight as just don't have the energy to write more. I should be rested tomorrow.
Thanks, Janet, for asking about the legs. I'm thankful to say that the swelling is definitely under complete control at present. Every second or third night I wear some special pressure garments to keep it under control, and they seem to do the job. Now it's just a matter of doing some special exercises for the rotator muscles in the left hip. If that works, then maybe I'll be able to sleep in my bed again. That'd be wonderful! Then we could go on overnight trips once in a while.
Guess what? Yep, that time again. Click here: http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8492.msg133660#msg133660
