                                          MISSOURI PHONE CALL

Scripture: Psalm 95:7-8a
"He is our God and we are the people he takes care of, the sheep that he tends. Today listen to what he says: Do not be stubborn" NCV

The story is told of an elderly man in Missouri who received a phone call from President Reagan in the 1980's. The first call came in and the man answered and immediately hung up. A second time the call came in and he likewise hung up. The third call was from a Southwestern Bell operator who explained that President Reagan was trying to call him. He also hung up.

The Southwestern Bell operator then contacted a neighbor who walked over to his house and informed the elderly man that the next phone call he will receive will be from the President of the United States.

This time the elderly gentleman answered and apologized for not believing that the President of the United States would call him! After the apology the two men talked for more than fifteen minutes.

Now what are the odds that when the phone rings that it is the President of the United States? Currently you or I would be one out of 312 million people in the USA! And the President of the United States is just one of nearly 7 billion people on planet earth. What are the odds?

Answer: Astronomical at best!

There are at least 1.5 billion galaxies with a minimum of 1/2 billion stars each in the Universe. The observable universe contains about 30 sextillion (10 to 21st power) to septillion stars (10 to 24th power). Some say these numbers are way to small!

Now let's talk about the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. What are the odds that God who through the Lord Jesus Christ made the universe will speak to you or me.

Answer: Clearly 100%.

Prayer: Father thank you that with 7 billion people you care for me and when I pray and listen your still small voice is there. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

Carol:  Taking the whole quilt apart to do the repair properly it seems to me that you are the kind of person that likes things done right, so the best thing to do is do your best to take it apart and go from there, boring I do not really think so because in your heart it will be a job done well and with very much love.

You are not alone because I am known to take things apart to get it right and always it is done with happiness in my heart both while doing the task and being happy and satisified when it is done.

Janet thank you for the devotional.

Carol Our mother had a saying that Pat Ruth and I all seem to adhere to.  "If a job is worth doing it is worth doing right."  You are following this principle as well.  It seems the youth of today do just enough to "get by" and no more.  Whatever has happened to pride in their work?

John went with me on Friday to buy some material....With all the stash I have I needed more!!  I bought a purple top and want a white skirt to wear with it.  Do you know there wasn't one white skirt in North Bay that I could find?  So out comes my pattern paper, ruler tape measure and straight edge.  I will get what I want, but not without some work.

I had an encounter with a Christian business man, on Friday as well.  I needed to discuss a problem with him.  I left in tears as his attitude was so prideful and arrogant.  It didn't matter who he stepped on, he perached and he did mission work and it was all about him.  I pointed out to him that there was an "I" issue he needed to think about as that was the main word he spoke.  Pray for this man....(no name, God knows), that God will humble him so that He (God) will be able to use him.

It has been a windy day today.  Sunny and the temperature has been warm, but the wind has made it feel really cold.  We are to have sun for the next couple of days, that is nice much better than all the rain we have had.  Our main consolation has been that "At least we don't have to shovel it!"  Last night the temperature dropped to freezing.

Have a great evening folks. And God bless.

Hi, friends, it's been a really chilly day here in Nashville, but since I live on the 13th floor (next to the top floor), heat travels upward, so I won't need to turn on heat tonight.

Our pastor also preached a wonderful sermon. He compared advertising techniques (and backed up his words with a video that truly DID point out exactly what he was saying). Those techniques included making us feel like "one of the club" if we buy certain name brands. The advertising executive said he decided to study cult behaviour to determine how to best bring in the most sales.

We don't HAVE to "buy in" to being in the cult frame of mind. Our God loved us so much that He sent his one and only Son to bear our sins with him to the cross as a sacrifice for us. For that reason we were urged to allow our Heavenly Father to satisfy the deep longings in our hearts, rather than trying other means of satisfaction that eventually grow stale and then we rush out to purchase more to try to fill our hunger again.

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want..."

Y'all have a great rest of the day.

Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  It has definitely turned cooler here in Georgia as it is 55 degrees this morning and has been running at least 10 degrees warmer this time of the morning.

We also had a good sermon yesterday.  We are having a series of sermons on the "I Am" statements in the Gospel of John.  This one related to the gate.  I got caught in the choir loft with no tissues and my nose decided to run.  I made it through the service but was getting very worried.  I am usually careful to have tissues in my pocket.  My wife suggested I keep a little package of tissues in the slot in my choir folder and will do so if I can remember to take them.

We went to the pizza place we often go on Sunday after church as the service is fast and it is just up the street from us.  I came home and rested and slept all afternoon.  I should be well rested today.

Today I am going to try to get through to the telephone company to see about changing the cost of my service.  I called on Saturday but the office I needed to reach, after a long series of menus, wasn't open on the weekends.  Then have my Monday men's luncheon and that will be it for today.

Janet, thanks for the fine devotional for this week.  We do have a God who loves us with all our faults.

Welcome to summer..... :) Today will be filled with playing with Ruth and then going to eat lunch with nana and cleaning :).... Ruth doesn't understand we don't have to be up at 715 any more so we were up and going early.... Today is going to be hard we came home last night from being gone all weekend to find our dog had suffered a stroke or something and could no longer walk he would take a step or two and then fall on his face. Today papa took him to the vet and he is being put to sleep :( He was an older dog and we have had him for 15 or 16 years.... anyways I need to get up and start working on cleaning this house and getting ready to head up to Elkhart to see nana. Have a good day

Yesterday, we had Craig from
Rainbow Christian Camp and Conference Center (http://www.rainbowcamp.org/) speak at church.  When I was at Park Chapel I worked there a couple of days in the kitchen preparing food and cleaning up.  I do believe I suffered from heat exhaustion the last time so I haven't been back.  But that was before A/C in the kitchen and the whole campground has been renovated and even added the Conference Center.  Craig is a great speaker and very knowledgeable about Rainbow.

Then it was Sunday school and five of us ladies ate at Olive Gardens.  By the time we were done, we had just enough time to come back home, get our gifts and go back to church for a baby shower.

After that it was back home again and then I had Small Groups at 6pm.  I was so tired last evening, that I didn't even get online...now that's tired...before hopping into bed!!

I have already been to Pendleton this morning to eat breakfast, go to the ATM machine and Marsh's for sandwich spread, buns, bread thins and chips.  I am taking a break from sweeping the floors.

I will be done by 3pm tomorrow!

Well, since I hardly slept on Saturday night, these cool temps certainly helped me make up for lost sleep time. :)

I think I'll head over to the church to check that the kitchen's clean. The Lion's Club meets in our Fellowship Hall tonight, so they'll be having their meal and using kitchen facilities. The Lions Club certainly do good works - many, many of the members are great christian leaders in their churches.

Sarah, I remember those busy years when my children were little. You enjoy your little Ruth, she sounds like such a treasure. So sorry that your dog will be going to Rainbow Bridge today. I'll be thinking of you and the family. Loss of a pet is very difficult.

Y'all have a great day!

It sounds as if yesterday was the Sunday for guest speakers.  I called a friend from church this morning and she said we had a missionary speaker yesterday.  We were in Salina for grandson's graduation, so I missed it.  :(

Sarah, sorry about your poor doggy.  It's hard to let them go, espeially when they have been part of the family for so long.  I'd like to meet little Ruth, bet she is a lot of fun.

Etta Sue, that's too much activity for Sunday!  That is the one day when I do try to get some rest in the afternoon.

I got another call from Tate Publishing!  And that was followed by an email directing me to their website to get specific directions on what to do next, the timeline for publishing, etc.  Still some work to do, and some waiting, but I know the Lord is in this project, so will keep persevering....we will get there!  :)  The first step I have to do is to format the manuscript in certain ways and then re-submit it.  So I am about to start on that now.

I wish you all a pleasant evening.

Janet, I certainly wish I were there to help you! I love doing that type of work.

I'm back in the apartment after doing a bit of work at the church and then eating with friends. That was followed by a brief visit with my son who lives up the hill.

Y'all have a great evening.

Ruth and JudyB:  Thanks for the feedback.  I am trudging along and probably 1/3 finished with the delicate part of clipping everything apart, using masking tape to get all the clippings out so my machine won't clog - next part will be to re-iron every bit and check measurements. Judy:  A white skirt in the month of May in your area?  You are probably still getting some snow in that rain  :D  - good luck.  You will like your own fabric anyway.

Janet:  Wow - things are perking along so quickly.  good luck with that formatting job.

Judy:  It sounds like you were able to get a word in with that man and good for you for reminding him of speaking of himself all the time.  He may take your words and dwell on them.

Sarah:  Belated hugs to you on the loss of your sweet doggie.  They do become such a part of our lives.
enjoy every minute with your baby because they do grown and go too quickly.

Larry:  My pockets or purse have cough drops and tissues - even tiny dabs of perfume catch me in church with a coughing fit & Don used to have nose bleeds until finally he got attention.

Don helped me plant two tomato plants in those funny upside down contraptions.  They are now hanging under the stairs in the back which face the sun.  Also, washed and finished mending one son's quilt & it dried beautifully on the porch.  This is the first morning in a long time with no frost.  Sunny - cool, went for an hour's walk down by the pond & old ranch area because it is peaceful once you get there.  Water is running in the creek.

The floods are taking such a toll on our SE neighbors.  Hard to imagine having to move to shelters for weeks on end and then to go home to devastation.

It is warming up here.  Today the wind has died down, and it has been warmer.  The sky has promised a better day tomorrow.

Carol, The white skirt id for summer.  To match a top.  I love wearing white, and this is a nice heavy weight.  John picked out a cotton poly for a blouse.  It will match the skirt as well

It has been a long day.  Starting with the dogs taking off.  This is not normal for them but being spring time and them being bird dogs......We live on 86 acres with a lot of partridge......I am sure you can see the picture!  Elizabeth let them out at 6:30 and went into a panic at 7:30 when they didn't come when called.  I drove the girls to the bus in case they went down to the road, and they didn't.  It was 9:30 before they finally came home and flopped in their bed not stirring for the balance of the day.  I went into town to get the girls, Kassie had cadets tonight, Elizabeth and I visited friends.

Oh be sure to check out Prayer and Praise we have some very serious prayer requests there.

Time for bed
God bless.

Good morning!  I worked for about seven hours last night on the formatting, still found a few errors (now I know why almost every book I read has them!)  I worked until my eyes were so blurry I could barely see, then decided I'd better stop!

Now I will start making the various parts:  Dedication, acknowledgments, table of contents, etc.  Some of those I haven't written yet, so will be using the old brain today, for sure!

I had an answer to a specific prayer yesterday!  God is so good.  I need one of Beth's senior pictures for the book, because she talked about that particular picture.  Would you believe, I couldn't find one anywhere?  And I know I have several of them.  Anyway, I didn't want to waste time searching any more, so I was praying about it (why didn't I pray FIRST??)  And I heard the Lord say, "Look in your Mom's album."  Sure enough!  There it was!!  Thank you, Lord!  Proof that even the small things are things He still cares about.  It was a big thing to me, though, at this time!

I got up early and did my housework, now I'm ready to work!

Carol, I don't think I would have the patience to put a quilt together in the first place, let alone remake one.  You must really have a lot of patience!  Good for you.  Now, if it were a painting, yes, I would redo it, but not a quilt.  Isn't it wonderful we all have different interests and talents?

Blessings to each of you.

PS to Ruth Ann:  I wish you were here to help me, too!  This is my very first experience doing this, and I KNOW there are easier ways to do it than  I have the knowledge to do.  May I 'pick your brain' some?

Ali and Inky knows something is up.  They are investigating everything I do.  I just put down throw rugs that have been folded after washing and drying.  What in the world is that?  They both were sniffing and sneaking up on them!  They are so funny!  I 'made' my bed, opened the blinds and shut the door.  That's where they usually take their morning naps but I didn't want them to re-make the bed!  Why is that door shut?  And just before the gals get here, I will coax them into the spare bedroom and shut the door!  They may or may not stay in there anyway but I sure don't want them to get up on the counter tops while company is here so they will be in the bedroom!

I will be done by 3pm.

Saturday afternoon a young man came to my door and asked if it was alright to leave his truck between my drive and my mailbox.  It died.  He said he would get it that evening.  Well, it was still there yesterday morning.  It is hard to turn right out of my drive...his back bumper is that close to the drive.  So I called the Sheriff's department.  Soon a trooper was here and he tagged the truck.  Said it was not on the road...was not blocking my drive...was not blocking the mailbox for mail delivery...and when they called the number that was listed from the license plate...no one answered.  So now if the truck is still there Thursday at 11am, I am to call the department back and it will be towed.  It is still there right now.  Hope no one hits it today and damages their car.  Truck?  Do I care or not?

It is cloudy and gloomy and probably rain soon.  Yucky day!

Hi everyone.  We have a sunny morning but still cool, only 52 degrees.  Just back from coffee and walking at the gym.  I need to leave in a few minutes to go to a meeting and then my schedule will be clear the rest of the day.  Pat is going out to lunch with a friend.  I am thinking about mixing up some bologna salad as haven't had it in a really long time and always enjoy.  The last time I bought bologna I had them slice it too thickly so this would solve that problem.

Etta Sue, hope your Euchre game goes well this afternoon but know you will be glad when your time to host is over.  I think we always look forward to doing it and then look forward to it being over for awhile.

Janet, does the publisher have an editor work with you on the book or are you doing your own editing?  Glad you found the picture you needed for the book.  Hope your writing goes well today.

Judy, I have been keeping an eye on that special prayer request.  It certainly is a very serious situation.

Carol, I have wondered how you keep those tomato plants from falling out after you initially plant them.  I can see that after the roots grow it would hold.  Hope it works as the ads sure show pretty tomatos.

Ruth Ann, is your son still experiencing the devastating headaches?  It sounds like you had a busy day.

Sarah, it is always hard losing a pet but it is just something we must accept as pets have a short life span.  Fortunately new pets can, after a period of time, fill the void of losing one.

You all have a nice day.

:) ;)  Good day to all on C.P.    i HAVE FINALLY READ THROUGH THE POST'S AND YOU ALL HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY.

Etta Sue:  I still don't know how you manage to keep going you had such a busy day last Sunday that is the day that you are supposed to take it easy please look after yourself.

Larry;  Iam so glad that you are able to go and walk on a track.  I am a member at the Y.M.C.A. and I find that it is so hard to get into a proper schedule to go and to do what I need to do. Hope that your daughter is feeling better.

Judy B.  How are you all doing hope the dogs don't keep taking off to much.  How are the girls doing?  :)

Noreen and I have finally got over the bad flu that we both got and I had to get a very strong antibiotic and a nasal spray but they did work well.  I was doing the lawn last Friday and I have a ditch in front of the house and as I came to it my feet just went under me and down I went on my rear and it wrenched my back and my neck and I could not move for a few minutes and my back is still very tender today. My wife and I have said if we could find someone to cut it at not a lot of money we might go ahead and do that. :thumbsup.

Janet:  You are also very busy I do hope that you are looking after yourself and not working to much. :)

Well I must go for now and to all other C.P. Family don't forget to always pray for each other and to pray for all the problems due to the flooding and the tornadoes.  There are so many people that have lost all there belonging's and many of us have never had this happen so we need to pray for all the things that have happened in the last month or two.

Have a wonderful day  Gordon and Noreen  :cp:

The rain has been around Toronto and vicinity for many days.    It is good for the green stuff on the lawn but now the problem is when do I cut the grass?!      It is so long and thick but it can't be cut when it is raining.      Oh well, they promise sun by the weekend!

God bless

Ruthie up here we cut in the rain as well as in the sun...

Gord if I lived near I would love to do your mowing for you.  That is my favourite all time job as you well know.

Please check out the prayer requests.  We have two similar urgent requests in there as well as all the other important ones.  As Gord said we need to be praying for each other.

OF COURSE, JANET! Others from CP have asked and it was SUCH a pleasure to be able to help.

Today, I have done very little, but am now busily preparing for a Bible study at my church. We seniors bring foods for a little potluck supper, then have a special dedicated time of prayer, followed by a wonderful study of a full chapter of the Bible led by the sunday school teacher who began teaching this class of young married couples that gradually grew older with him, and now some of us "youngsters" are attending, too. This man is such a wonderful deeply committed Christian who actually earned his doctorate and taught at Trevecca Nazarene University, my alma mater.

A little bit of trivia, both he and my dad were ordained as ministers when I was only 14, and he often teases me about how long he has known me. :) He's now 88 and doing well.

First, I need to make a quick stop by the grocery to purchase a bit of bacon to make a couple of my dishes more tasty. :)

Y'all have a wonderful day serving and communing with our Lord.

As I said before and Judy B. reminded us about how we should always remember each one in prayer.  I want to thank you all for the prayer's that you have done for Noreen and I.   ;D

Well continue to have a wonderful week.   Praise his name forever.

I have been to the dentist again and now have a temporary crown on my tooth.  I will get the permanent one in two more weeks.  But by paying the full amount today, I saved about $75, so that helps!

I'm waiting on a couple of answers from Tate before I can proceed with working on the book.  I wish I knew some people to ask for endorsements--I have to get those myself.

It was our weekly coffee this morning and now home to to take care of the business, I had made a list and for someone that is retired it is long.  Mel took his truck in for repair so now at home he sits waiting for a phone call from them.

Yes we have rain again but no snow.

Hi everyone.  This will be the typical Wednesday with coffee and then to the church for Bible study.  I have no other errands to run after that so sure we will go for the fellowship at the donut shop when the study is completed.  We are suppose to finish up the Book of John this morning as have been studying it for many weeks.  Now the group has to decide what the next book of the Bible that we will study.  Last week we had a little celebration for our minister's 50th birthday.  I think he was a bit surprised.

Tonight is choir practice so it will be a busy day.

Gord, good to see you post but sorry to learn of your fall and hurting your back.  You sure don't need that as know you need to stay strong to help your wife.

Ruth Ann, to have the same teacher for so many years must truly be unusual.  Glad you are able to participate in your church activities.

Ruthie and Judy, we are actually in need of some rain but not in the drought condition that others are.  Our ground just dries out very quickly.  Everything is nice and green however and sure looks ggod.  It is cold her this morning as it is 45 degrees but suppose to warm up to 70 today.

Was it CP or my laptop with the hiccups this morning?  I couldn't get into CP.  Other websites were fine.

I am glad that my Euchre hosting duty is over for now!  After getting everything back in placed and washed up, I collapsed!

I slept good until 6am.  I got up and was at the nurses office by 9:30.  I didn't realize it was my yearly checkup so I had an exam as well as urinalysis and an EKG.  My blood work showed my triglycerides high, cholesterol high, A1C high and calcium high.  So I am to lower my sugar intake drastically...I knew that.  And watch my fats...203 cholesterol count isn't THAT bad...I have been as high as 367...now that's GOLLY!  And I am to stop taking my calcium supplement and find just the Vitamin D tablets.  I am to get a bone density test done Monday.  I am waiting on a call from the rehab center to have physical therapy for my back.

Other than all that, I feel fine!!  I go back for Blood work in 3 months and in 6 months I have the Medicare Wellness exam.

Needless to say, I am doing nothing the rest of the day...maybe tomorrow and Friday I go swimming.  Oops!  I need to mow if the sun shines!!

JudyB:  Dogs taking off ----I remember too well how exhausting it is to run after a runaway dog.  No more for us.  A good friend is the best trainer and she makes dogs really obey everything.  It is amazing.  They really listen to her commands.

Could not get into Prayer & Praise.

Janet:  Patience - not me so much, the fabric is too pricey and I could not do anything with it.  Good for you on your latest endeavors.

Etta Sue:  Sounds like your tests went well.  Good going!

Larry:  Comfort food is what we all crave at times.  This is my first time in trying to grow tomato plants in this high desert - well, I did have a garden when living in Fort Collins but that sure needed tender daily care with all the sun and wind.  Two days & the plants are still alive.  The birds keep looking this way.

Gord:  Sorry about your fall.  It does sound like it was soft at least but your back took the brunt of the fall.  Spring is coming and I do hope it means some very good days for you and Noreen to sit and relax outside.

this was potluck last bible study morning.  Only 28% of the population here just SW of Denver area have any religious affiliation.  This is a nature loving place and methinks the others have forgotten the source of nature.  Hmmmm?  40% of the people attending the church do not give any money.  Ever.  Isn't that something?  If they are out of work or not healthy, I sure can understand but to sit there and know the needs of the church - how can they be that way?   Am sure they get in line at Starbucks - there is always a long line of vehicles running their motors instead of getting out of their cars.  Oh, well - that is between them and the Lord.

On to tending house.

Well, it's time to go to the fitness center and use the treadmill.  I'll sleep better if I do.  I'm still waiting until the 26th for my opthamologist visit to see when the cataracts will be taken care of.  I'm looking forward to the results, but not to the actual operation.  So pray that Al Moak will trust the Lord.

Janet - I know what you're going through as I've been an editor for about 30 years.  Wish I was closer to you - maybe I could help.  I've done fomatting 'til it came out of my ears.  May our Father give you sticktoit'dness and patience.

It's sunny here today.  The green of the evergreen trees in the early morning sun was beautiful.  God greatly bless all.

Hi, friends, today's been a relatively quiet day, with a trip out to mail a pkg to daughter in law in Georgia, and then catch a bite with friends. It's so good to be with fellow christians, isn't it!

Love to all,

Etta Sue:   I really do not know how you can share your Medical results, because for me I so well remember when I shared some of my reports. What came from their mouth was so much of a shock that I have no words to explain then from the mouths of others it was embarrassing so although I would like to share it is best to keep quiet.  But I will say good for you for feeling comfortable enough to share and even teach us how to make changes.

I should also mention that this site has been dragging its feet all day kinda on the slow side.

We even had a some time without rain and I think a touch of sun.
I did get almost all of todays errands leaving one for tomorrow morning. No more dragging my feet.

Was talking to John.  He has to work Saturday and won't be home till late.  I am not impressed, but nor much we can do.  He will take the time off on Monday and go out Tuesday.  It is always rough when they work him late into the weekend.

Well I am off, Going to lie down on the couch till Elizabeth gets home.  Night all

Yesterday was a do nothing day!!  All I did was watch TV and knit dish clothes.  I gave 15 dish clothes out to the Euchre ladies so I need to rebuild my stash!

I did get a call from rehab to schedule my first appointment.  I go tomorrow morning at 8:45a.m. for discussion and to schedule my appointments.  Ivalou and I are hoping we can get ours close enough together to only have to drive one car for our rehab appointments.  We will see.  If not, then...at least, we will both feel better physically even though we are broke from paying for gas!!

And then this morning I got a call at 8:30am...reminding me that I have an appointment with rehab tomorrow morning that I scheduled last night!  Doing their job, I guess!

It isn't sunny but it also isn't raining.  Hope I can mow this afternoon.

It isn't sunny, and it is raining.  We should have mowed 2 days ago but no gas for the mower, I now have gas .....and rain again.  This weekend is the Canadian holiday weekend, usually a big garage sale weekend, I don't need anything so we won't be going,  No need to spend money on stuff we really don't need in the first place.

The situation in Slave Lake Alberta is terrible.  Every one has been evacuated, and firefighters from Ontario and British Columbia have gone to help the fight.  From what I heard the natural gas that heats the homes wasn't shut off and has kept the fire going.  40% of the homes have been lost.

So much sad news around us. BUT Jesus Christ has risen and is sitting on the right hand of God, our Father.  Now that is something to rejoice in!

Hi everyone.  I had a terrible time getting my posting done yesterday morning but it finally went through.  I was glad to see the site up and running this morning.  The service level certainly seems to vary.

I got up fairly early as woke up about 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep.  I have nothing on my schedule that I have to do today but do plan on stopping by the hospital to check on my neighbor who had a hip replacement on Tuesday.  His wife called last night about 9:30 to say they had to put him in ICU because his oxygen level got too low.  She spent the night at the hospital.  I probably won't be able to see him in ICU but can check to see if she needs anything.  She said her cellphone was about out of juice so will see if she needs one and if so let her use mine until she can get home and recharge hers.  Hopefully he had a good night and will go back to his regular room today.  He had hoped to come home on Friday and hope this setback doesn't delay that.  He had to wait over 4 months from the time he fell until the hip replacement surgery.

Judy, I agree with you on garage sales and so don't even stop at them anymore.  We haven't heard anything about those fires in Alberta on our news.  Terrible situation.  We have the flooding on the Mississippi and related rivers that are destroying many homes and will wipe out a lot of farm land for this year. Glad you are finished with your therapy.

Ruth, like Etta Sue I am a very open person.  If someone doesn't like what I say I figure that is their problem and not mine.  Our health is what it is but can understand folks wanting to keep things private as well and it is certainly an individual decision.

Ruth Ann, a few quiet days here and there are always welcome, at least to me.

Al, hang in there as the 26th will be here soon.  I have a good coffee drinking friend who both he and his wife are having cataract surgery today.  The eye doctor's office was sending transportation to pick them up and then will bring them back home later this morning.  He is about 84 and doesn't wear glasses.

I wrote the above earlier and just now back from coffee and going to Aldi's for some produce and a few other items.  I then stopped at the ATT cellphone store.  I think we will be going to strictly cellphones as can go on our son's family plan.  It should save on the monthly telephone bill which has gotten higher and higher.  Think I am home for the rest of the day.

Well, I'm dealing with a bit of heartache this afternoon. One of my children has promised some specific actions to his family, and now is not keeping them.

They are devastated, and I am so afraid I see a tsunami coming in that family.

I'm sorry, Ruth Ann.  I will pray for this family.  God knows all the details, and we don't need to know, to pray for them.  Hugs to you.

I am still waiting for that email.......Lord, thank you for giving me patience!  I really want to resubmit the book before the first of June, as my yearly painting class is coming up the first full week of June, so that means I will be away from home that week.  I have done all I know to do until I get the needed information on the formatting.  The question is how to separate my voice from Beth's voice and still fit their format.  I worte it using different fonts, but they require it all to be in same font.

I need to call two NF organizations to get information for the End Notes section regarding where to give money for NF Research, and where to ask for information.  Not everyone has a computer....yet.  I also want to call our former family doctor and ask him for an endorsement.  He was always so good to Beth.

I am still working on the Dedication page.  Beth said she wanted to dedicate it to ME!  ;)  I told her that since I'm the author, that wouldn't work, but I appreciated the thought.  She said, "Well, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here!"  True.

I'd better make those calls!  See you later!

Hi everyone, I am with Larry and Etta Sue about sharing personal things and saying what I think or feel. If someone doesn't like it oh well too bad.

I am looking forward to getting back home and getting these tests over with so I will know what the next step is. and what is causing the problem. I sure am not believing that it is Breast Cancer.

Thank y'all for praying with me about my family's problems. Truly God IS faithful, it's WE who fall far short...

Marilyn, I understand the desire to not believe, but you really don't HAVE to until you get the results of your tests. May our Lord give you strength to get through this period.

Love to all,

Hi everyone.  I hadn't been able to get on this discussion until I went to the main page for this site and clicked on forums and then was able to get the discussion to show.  This seems to be an almost everyday problem.  Something just doesn't seem right and we certainly don't want to discourage folks from joining us here.

Just back from coffee at the center senior and then three of us walked in the park, which is next to the senior center.  Our little town has really developed a lovely park with nice sidewalks, playground equipment for the children and one where many events are held for the community.  I remember when the city first bought the land for the initial area of the park and it has expanded on both sides since then.  The weather was perfect for being outside and walking this morning.

My neighbor was still in ICU as of about 5 pm last night.  His wife was in with him and she handed her cellphone to him and we were able to talk for a few minutes.  He had had blood transfusions yesterday and other tests as well as well a face type oxygen mask for about 12 hours.  Hi oxygen level had gone down to 42 right before they took him to ICU.  I hope he will be well enough to go back to a regular room today.

We have made the decision to give up our house phones and go on our son's family plan.  We will be able to transport out home number over onto one of the phones and also have another number for the Atlanta area for the other phone.  We will get two new cellphones and they are waiving the activation fee.  I think we will do it today if the lady who I met yesterday at the AT&T store is working today.

Ruth Ann, we just have to sit back and let our adult children work out their own situations.  It is painful to watch when the train seems to go off the track.  Tell of about your newer computer.

Marilyn, I hope you can put the tests out of your mind while you are on vacation as worrying about them won't change a thing and could ruin your vacation enjoyment.

Janet, isn't it strange how everything can be hurry up and then it becomes a waiting game and time doesn't seem to matter.  Things have been moving very quickly on the book front and hopefully this is just a little bump in the road.

Later today I will be getting a friends dog to dog sit.  She is a beautiful girl who scrunches her nose up in a smile.  If you recall I dog sat her at Christmas as well.  I have had 2 pictures to give my friends that I forget to put into the car.  They are now out ready for them to take as they leave.

I really need to get out mowing.  There is hardly any difference between out lawn and the field the farmer cuts for hay.  Lots of dandylions bees (yea) and black flies. The blackflies are pesky little critters!

John will be back in country today, but not home till late Saturday.  Being a holiday weekend it is discouraging for the families to have daddy away.  To me it is a way of life and I understand that, but for others they see their friends make plans to go away for family time, then they see their dad's working and their plans are dashed. In many cases if work is refused, and plans not changed the driver can and often does loose his job.  The life of a truck driver's family can be difficult.  Pray for these families, and support the ones that go to your churches.  Too often I have heard "It is too bad John has to work Sunday (or the holiday)!"  We know that, but we are just glad that John, (or in the case of other men/women,) has a job and we can pay out bills.  Many mom's feel they are living the life of the single parent, and in many cases they are. The husband comes home for a "visit" and is gone again.  So if you have the opportunity to give these families some love and friendship they would appreciate it.

Today it looks like rain, the forcast is for rain, so I had better get at the lawn before it starts.  Tomorrow is to be a lovely day, with no rain and Sunday rain again.

I am off will be back later.

You guys are my therapists.  I tell you everything!!  I have always been told to talk about things...don't hold them in.  I may be big but I am sure not full of words....I let them out!!

Well, I have therapy the month of June.  Two days a week it is working with a therapist on a table or mat and one day a week is in the pool with a therapist!  I got some stretching exercises to do daily 2 or 3x a day until I go for my first session June 6th.  Next week is full and the following week is full and a holiday that week also.

Kitty is bringing her Subway to eat on my deck and then we are going swimming.

Getting CP is so slow for me.  This morning I kept getting 'Page won't load' or something like that.  Just now was sooo slow.  Other websites for me are fine!!  This happened before but I can't remember what I did!  Maybe I will try logging out and logging back in to see if that works.  I normally am logged in all the time!!

I see the posting I made this morning did load but I also kept getting the page not found error message for the site.  I would say this ISP is experiencing some serious problems of reliability. I sure hope things improve soon or folks will stop coming here.

Judy, you expressed the situation very well in terms of supporting the family and the sacrifices that are often required.  In this country there are so many people out of work and losing their homes that it is truly sad.

Etta Sue, glad you got your therapy sessions scheduled.  It sounds like the exercises to do in advance should be helpful to you at the time the therapy starts.

Larry so many truckers families don't go to church because of the pity,  They don't need pity they need encouragement and love.   A single parent is on her own and everyone knows that and manypitch in to help.  What folks don't realise is the aloneness of the truck drivers wife..  I am in the unique position to understand both sides of the coin. So many times I have heard, "So why doesn't he just take the time off?"  He has the pay at the end of so many miles to be concerned with. My question to John is usually How many miles this pay period?  I understand that adds pressure to him, but I need the figures for the budget.

Well I have about 1/4 of the lawn cut.  Our friend has been here and dropped off the dog.  She is a beauty.  It is much warmer out than I was expecting, which is nice but a little warm with the bug jacket on.

Out to finish my job.  Have a good evening folks.

I have also had trouble getting on here today.  I wonder if Pat is aware of the problems?  I sure do miss her posts.

I worked all day again on the book; thought I was all ready to submit it, tried, don't know how.  :-[   Then a little while ago while I was with Beth, I remembered a lovely poem she wrote for one of her dogs, so I think I will go back and add it in the section on PETS.  She's an animal lover, for sure.

I had such a wonderful day yesterday!  God is SO GOOD!!  I have one of our doctors (chiropractor) who is writing the Foreword for me; and our former family doctor has agreed to write an Endorsement!  Yeaaaa!!  He has moved to Tulsa.

Sometimes I think I tell too much; at other times I just don't feel like talking all that much.  If with people, then it depends on who I am with.  I sure understand, Ruth, that you don't want to "spill you guts" to just anybody.   But I do feel safe here, to say whatever I want.  I have so few physical problems that I feel really blessed.

Marilyn, enjoy your vacation and don't think about what the future may hold.  It may be just a small fluid filled cyst.  I had one of those a few years back.

I actually had a good nap this afternoon, now I'm ready to work for a while.  After I make the change to the book, I plan to go to my studio and get my things together for scrapbooking day tomorrow.  Maybe by Monday the two doctors will have sent me the needed things for the book.

Judy, years ago when I was in a very unhappy marriage, I used to wish he were a truck driver, and that he only sent his pay home, didn't come himself.  :-\  I'm glad those tough times are behind me!

Etta Sue, why are you needing therapy?  I must have missed something.

See you good people later!

We went to Shelbourne to visit with a friend and also we went to a garden center a little farther north bought some very healthy plants had lunch out, on home by 4:30 or so.

I sure wish that I was strong enough to speak out real loud when I get offended but it seems, that when I do that I feel even worse.   I had a special needs aunt that let you know loud and clear when she was offended and yes we loved her dearly for that and many others gifts that she had.

This is the beginning of a long holiday weekend.

:)   Good evening to all.  Boy this has been a very crazy  week and my back is still very sensitive and I have an app. for the physio for both my wife and myself next week.  So I had to get someone else to come and cut my lawn at the backyard as it was so long because of the amount of rain we have had.

I also had trouble to get into C.P. the last time I logged in so I don't know what is going on.

Janet.  It sound,s like this book is a lot of work but also very exciting for you. when it is all finished I would like to be able to get a copy and of course signed by you.

Ruth:  Hope you and your husband are well.  I used to drive coach through Shelbourne for Gray Coach and continue to Owen Sound those were the good old days and we had a lot of fun doing it and I loved my job.

Etta Sue:  Hope that you are also well.  And I also must have missed why you have to go for therapy I do hope that it is nothing to serious.  May the Lord be with you and your sis this weekend and look after yourself.

Larry:  How are you and Pat doing and I see that you also had problems with getting on site.  If it keeps up I guess Pat will see it and tell the new provider.  Have a wonderful weekend.  This is a long weekend in Canada. So we need to remember all those people who will be on the rd. and also opening up there cottages.  Hope that your daughter is coming along well.

Well please continue to pray for each other on our C.P. Family and for people that are in a situation like Judy B. and others.  God's richest Blessings and have a wonderful weekend. :) :)  Gordon and Noreen :cp: :pine: :bananadance: :bananadance:

Well I got the lawn done.  It seemed to take forever, and it will need doing again by Monday.

I was talking to John and seems the dispatcher is pushing him to see if he can get him to break the rules.  John is thankfully on electronic logs and it registers immediately if he goes over hours.  That is just something he isn't prepared to do.  So long story short instead of being home on Saturday like I expected, it will be Sunday instead.  He is hoping to be home in time for church.  I would rather see him rest a little longer so he isn't so tired.

I have had problems with the internet.  No problem getting on the site, but staying on is the problem.  I keep timing out.  That is one of the hickups with Dial up.

Ruth I enjoyed our talk tonight.  We need to do that more often ......when the girls aren't out and calling in!

Have a good night and rest peacefully in the hands of our Lord.

My therapy.  I have lower back pain.  Actually I have had lower back pain since painting the ceiling in my living room, dining room, kitchen, small hallway and utility room....all in one day almost 10 years ago.  I went to a chiropractor about 5-6 years ago and that didn't help at all.  Just made my purse smaller!!  Thank God, the pain only shows up if I stand very long or mosey...walk slow as I sometimes do while shopping.  Once I sit down, it immediately goes away!  Or lessens even while leaning on something, like the grocery cart!

So since a physical therapist has done so well with Ivalou in improving her pain, stamina, balance, etc. I thought maybe rehab would help me!  I got my bladder fixed...why not my back now?  So when I went to Nurse Andrea, she faxed a script to the rehab center.

That's why I am going to therapy!  And already I can tell a difference.  Just walking to the mailbox yesterday, I felt I was standing taller and not wobbling so much.  And I thought I had great posture and walked fine!   ???

Kitty and I went swimming yesterday and we both did our 36 links....half a mile.  Then we went to Barnes and Noble Book Store.  Ivalou's daughter, Teresa, gave her what is called 'The Miracle Ball' since her stroke.  It is a 5" ball that you can lay on with it just above your tail bone and it relaxes your spine and stretches the muscles...my problem.  I tried it and love it!  So with a 50% off coupon on Droid, I got the two balls and instruction book for less than $10!  I mentioned this to the therapists and she had never heard of it.  So I will take it when I go for my first visit June 6.  The Miracle Ball works on all parts of your body from TMJ to back pain.  You may read about it
here (http://www.elainepetrone.com/).  Cheaper than a chiro!

I have 5 exercises to do 2-3 times a day before June 6.  And I plan to use the ball for one exercise 2-3 times a day.  That will keep me busy even though they don't take very long.  You can do them on the floor or in your bed.

Today?  Nothing!!  I plan to take a book outside, read, and enjoy the sunshine, warmth and fresh air!

The sun is here for a short visit and I took the long walk through the old ranch area by the windmill.  Glad that some of the open space is here - we do have great trails for walking.  Don has been walking shorter time as he gets all worn out and he has to have warmer temps that I do.  He grew up in Duluth, MN - but could never move back now.  Picked up trash on the way back and really blame it on the high school kids but who knows anymore.

Ruth Ann:  Have a wonderful weekend!  Enjoy your new computer.

I came in here to check on my emails concerning the son of Max Alderman.

Hi everyone.  Just back from a busy morning and eating a bite of lunch.  It is really quite warm here today.  I was standing outside talking to someone for maybe ten minutes and sure hope I don't have sunburn on the bald spot on the top of my head.  (Fortunately I don't see the spot when I look in a mirror so seldom think about it except in cases like today.)

Nothing special on the schedule for the rest of the day.  I will rest for awhile and then a little more computer work, maybe watch a tv program or two, and then read my ebook.

Etta Sue, glad you are finding things to help your back situation.  I have been keeping a chiropractor in business for a long time with Pat and now Stacey seeing one.  Pat is not going at this time but Stacey goes twice a month.  It seems to help give her some relief for a short period of time.

Judy, good for John in not being willing to break the rules.  That is probably one of the reasons he has been recognized as such a good example for the trucking industry.

Gord, good to see your posting.  Pat and I are doing fine with nothing beyond the normal aches and pains.  Do hope the therapy helps both you and your wife next week.

Judy, it sounds like things are coming together on the book.  Hope you have had a great day of scrapbooking today.  If I recall you have one of those Cricket machines.  Do you use it for your scrapbooking?

Seems a little better today, but yesterday did for a while, too.  Twice I just gave up after four time-out messages in a row, followed by a complete stand still with nothing happening for two or three minutes, just for one page change.  Pat had some trouble, too, so she does know about it and Oldiesmann has been informed as well.

Are we all waiting for 6:00 P.M.?  That's when that kook is predicting the Rapture!

Larry you meant Janet with the book and scrapbooking...LOL  our names are similar?  LOL

Jeanne I have been asked that several times today...But I rest easy in the knowledge that even the angles don't know the time or the hour.

I am ticked today.  :ticked:  There is a rod underneath the tractor that controls the steering.  I was giving the lawn a second cut, and the rod fell off.  Looks like i lost a nut that attaches it.... Grrrrr :ticked:  I have to wait now for either John or Kassie to come home from work to see if it can be fixed!

I had a goal in mind.  I wanted to give the lawn a second good cut then start working on a flower bed that I have wanted to build for many years.  I just hope the soil isn't too hard.

Also I have a waterbed liner that I can use for a pond.  Just need a pump, hosing and power to it.  That isn't much is it?  May try and lay out where I want to do that as well.  That is a we'll see kind of project!

Grandpa's Hands

This is good. I'll never look at my hands the same!

Grandpa, some ninety plus years, sat feebly on the patio bench. He didn't move, just sat with his head down staring at his hands. When I sat down beside him he didn't acknowledge my presence and the longer I sat, I wondered if he was OK Finally, not really wanting to disturb him but wanting to check on him at the same time, I asked him if he was OK.

He raised his head and looked at me and smiled. "Yes, I'm fine.  Thank you for asking," he said in a clear strong voice.

"I didn't mean to disturb you, Grandpa, but you were just sitting here staring at your hands and I wanted to make sure you were OK," I explained to him.

"Have you ever looked at your hands," he asked. "I mean really looked at your hands?"

I slowly opened my hands and stared down at them. I turned them over, palms up and then palms down. No, I guess I had never really looked at my hands as I tried to figure out the point he was making. Grandpa smiled and related this story:

"Stop and think for a moment about the hands you have, how they have served you well throughout your years. These hands, though wrinkled, shriveled, and weak have been the tools I have used all my life to reach out and grab and embrace life.

They put food in my mouth and clothes on my back.
As a child my mother taught me to fold them in prayer.
They tied my shoes and pulled on my boots.
They have been dirty, scraped and raw, swollen and bent.
They were uneasy and clumsy when I tried to hold my newborn son.
Decorated with my wedding band they showed the world that I was married and loved someone special.
They trembled and shook when I buried my parents and spouse and walked my daughter down the aisle.
They have covered my face, combed my hair, and washed and cleansed the rest of my body.
They have been sticky and wet, bent and broken, dried and raw.
And to this day, when not much of anything else of me works real well, these hands hold me up, lay me down, and again continue to fold in prayer.
These hands are the mark of where I've been and the ruggedness of my life.
But more importantly it will be these hands that God will reach out and take when he leads me home.
And with my hands He will lift me to His side and there I will use these hands to touch the face of Christ."
I will never look at my hands the same again. But I remember God reached out and took my grandpa's hands and led him home.

When my hands are hurt or sore I think of Grandpa. I know he has been stroked and caressed and held by the hands of God. I, too, want to touch the face of God and feel His hands upon my face.

When you receive this, say a prayer for the person who sent it to you and watch God's answer to prayer work in your life. Let's continue praying for one another.

Hi, friends, I'm here after spending quite a bit of time in the grocery. It was "fun" for me to take the time to look, compare prices, etc. Now, I feel rested and ready to do a bit of cleaning and, of course, putting the things purchased this afternoon away.

I'm still trying to get acquainted with the new computer's "way of doing things," Larry. Since my eyes will be a problem the remainder of my life, I purchased a 17 1/2" laptop. The Office 2007 software is now loaded, and all Microsoft updates are in place. But how, oh how, am I supposed to work with IE9???

Oh, well, it will be a challenge to learn the new systems and be able to work wherever I take that computer, :)

Y'all have a great rest of the day.

Our beautiful humid sunny day is almost behind us.
Mel and I went to aunties he loosened the soil in 3 of her containers while auntie & I went plant shopping at the garden center, Mel had put 3 of the spike plants in the containers and when auntie and I returned with Tim Horton's coffee, I then planted the larger barrel but no sir re could I or we touch the other containers. Will she get the rest planted or watered the rest remains to be seen most of us are older and we do the talk but are short on energy to follow through with the rest.

Mel had also loosened the soil in my containers, I have done the planting but will need to get more plants, and when Mel gets more energy he will dig the remaining garden beds that amounts to 4 that are not overly large but since his accident he does run out of energy real fast. Slow and easy does get it done.

Mel has always said that John will always stick to the hours forget the idea of doing anything wrong. John takes good care of his license. No chances for him.

Etta Sue:  I have one of the larger balls and I was advised to not use it right now, Although the little one sounds as though it is not as harsh.

About the chiro. mine got lots of $$$ and in the end he was upset when I left  also our son had gone to him a few times and he was really really Sharp with our son, how dare our son know best.

We have collected VHS's now that they are not even sold it is time to move them out the door. I have kept some and some I have set aside for a garage sale. But like the old records it you do not have the players it is time for them to go. Perhaps the records will be next but I will get some flake with that.

Ruth Ann:  You will do fine

He has been out 7 days and I got a text that he is out of $$$ and out of food.  I told him to ust his debit card and have a good breakfast.  I am thankful I prepared extra this week it sure paid off.

Gord I haven't forgotten to call...Will call tomorrow.

Last night was a rough night and tonight looks like a repeat.  I will be off to bed soon.

:)  Hi I started to type out a post but my son is here and he is of to Buffalo to pick up his Wife and daughter and mother-in-law so he has a new pussy cat and it was on my lap then jumped on the key pad and my post disappeared so now i have to start again.

We had a very good day and the weather was beautiful and very warm so our plan was to pick up some plants just like Ruth and also do some other errands which we managed to accomplish.

Tonight I went out with my oldest son and my son-in-law and my grandson and one other to the Merritville Speedway car race track and we had a great time and my grandson at 3and a half loved it so that was a lot of fun.

Ruth Ann:  I know what it is like when you have to try  to figure out things on the computer and I don't understand the shot form's but that's o.k. because that's why we have our kid's or others who know all about computers.  Have a great weekend.

Ruth :  I do hope that Mell gets some more strength as I know what it feels like to be tired very quickly due to some of my medical problems but God is always so good to us and he will renew our strength when we speak to him in PRAYER
so may the Lord be with you and Mel and give you strength.  By the way I like the new picture with the school bus.   Was that at Langdon's.

Judy B:  Hi sis I guess that you got busy with something so I new that you would get back to me soon.  Please say hi to John and it is so good to hear that he did not give into dispatch.  I can remember when there was days like that.  Have a wonderful Lord's Day Love ya sis.  Gordon.

To all others an this awesome site may you all Praise his name at all the times that the Lord gives you to witness for him and tell others about his precious plan for there life.   Love in Christ. :)  Gordon and Noreen  :cp: :pine: :bananadance:

I really don't think it is my imagination or my want of being better but I believe my back is much better...just since Thursday evening!!

Ivalou brought me my mail yesterday and was sitting here talking.  All of a sudden I thought, I am to go to Daybreak Church at 4pm!!  It was 2pm.  So she left and I got my shower and dressed and got to Daybreak in time to spare.  Daybreak is in the building where my mother, father, sister and brother graduated from school.  The sanctuary is in the old gym!  It seems they invited over 500 people and so sad that less than 50 showed up.  And that's spouses also!  We had a dinner and then went to the sanctuary where the Daybreak ladies put on a skit called Church Ladies.  It was so much fun seeing some people I hadn't seen for over 50 years...and some I saw last week!

One lady's husband has had Parkinson's for 7 years.  He developed the ability to write poetry.  He graduated in '55 and wrote a poem about 'his' high school and when a new school was built, it became the old school.  Now a newer school is built and the new school is now the old school and the old school is now the old-old school.  Or was it the old school, the new school and the new-new school??  It was a cute poem!

Today Ivalou and I are greeters at one of the doors at church.  Then we will probably go out to eat somewhere and then home.  One of my neighbors found out I make dish clothes out of Sugar 'n' Cream yarn and she has a bunch and is bringing it to me this afternoon!  I am going to have dish clothes coming out of my ears!  But they are great little gifts and everyone loves them.

Hi everyone.  I was happy to see that I could get to CP this morning with only a slight delay in the page display.  It was a really hot day here yesterday so stayed in all afternoon after a busy morning.  I did finish the book I was reading before going to sleep last night.

I am ready for church.  I don't know whether Pat is going or not as she has a very sore toe that she thinks came from wearing a pair of socks that made her shoe fit to tightly or something.  She was aching all over yesterday so sure hope she is feeling better today.  It is our plan to go to the AT&T store this afternoon and set up our telephone service as a part of our son's family plan.  I think I wrote about this before so won't go into detail.  I was reading over the PDF copy of the manual for the phone that we will likely be getting as it comes free with the 18 month contract.  I don't know what we will do for lunch today but that will be decided at the time and depending on how Pat is feeling.

Judy, of course I met to say Janet in that posting and didn't even notice that I had used the wrong name.  Hope you get your tractor fixed as know from what you said you do enjoy mowing your yard.  Our lawn people will be here tomorrow to freshen up our yard although it hasn't grown very much in these last two weeks as we haven't had much, if any, rain.  Hope John gets home today to replenish he $$$ and food supply.  I liked the piece about grandpa's hands.  We don't often think about what they mean to us and how grateful we should be that we have the use of them.

Gord, it sounds like you had a boy's night out at the races.  I occasionally watch a part of a race on TV but don't think I have ever been to one.  I do know that many people really enjoy them.

Ruth, I wouldn't react very well to any doctor who treated me like the chiropractor treated you and your son.  It does seem to be a never ending expense.  Hope your flowers do well.  We have no outside planting as neither Pat nor I are really able to tend them.  They have something down here called knockout roses that bloom from spring to late fall.  We would like to have a couple of them but just can't prepare the ground so we just enjoy those we see that others have planted.  They are quite lovely and very hardy.

Ruth Ann, I am going to guess that the problem you have with IE9 is that it doesn't show the menus and other appearances that you are used it.  I just checked mine (I don't use it on a daily basis) and you can get the menus to display if you click in the very upper right hand corner of the browser and there you will see a dropdown menu where you can turn the menu line on and make some other adjustments that should make the page look very much like what you may be use to.  You may not be able to see the little faded symbol that you click but it is there within the first quarter inch of that space.  If that isn't the problem feel free to call me or let me know what you are trying to do and I will be glad to try to help you.  Nice to ready that you had a good day.

Etta Sue, the Daybreak church has an interesting name.  Glad you remembered to go as sounds like you had a very nice time.

Hope Marlyn is having a wonderful time on vacation.

Hope everyone has a very enjoyable day.

Well, we had our marriage conference entitled "It Takes Two."  It was very good, and several from our church attended.  One of the ideas they discussed was thinking of God as the Father-in-law of the wife (or husband).  Your wife belongs to Him, so you must treat her as such and as answerable to Him.

Good morning to Larry and Al.   Al I think we had a few weeks ago part of the same seminar at our church.  How are you doing I hope that your health is doing o.k.

Larry:   We had a great time at the races and it is a small dirt track and there is at least 3 different classes of races and the stands were full as this is a ling weekend here in Canada. :coffee:

Well must get ready to go.  Hope all have a wonderful day.   God Bless.    Gordon and Noreen. :) :cp: :bananadance: :pine:

I have gone on vacation and came home yesterday. It snowed the Monday night and Tuesday morning, then it rained, and hailed, we had some sun for a couple of days. On those days we rode the bikes,  After the first ride which was a long one;  well, the next day my knees were protesting the ride I took that day, but I went anyway. No more long rides after that, Keith did take a long rid on Thursday then of course yesterday we left about 8:30.

We got home and boy was Fritzy every glad to see us. Grubby  was soon at the back door asking to come in and meowing like crazy. I called Puppy Love and the dogs were ready so I went after home. They misplaced Bebe's leash and collar but by the time I got home they had called and said they found it but I am not going to pick it up until tomorrow.

Today we have to go to Walmart to pick up a few groceries, I have to shampoo my hair and bake a cake, Keith's birthday is Tuesday he will finally be 65. Tomorrow I have blood work in the morning and the Diagnostic Mammo and ultra sound int he afternoon, back to the Doctor on Wednesday.

Keep well everyone

Hello.  Same old same old....soggy, wet, Victoria Island.  We get a couple of days of sunshine (sometimes) and then back to the rain.

Al, I had both eyes done, one in March and one in April.  The medication for a month each time, left me quite ill and not really better yet.  That is not something that happens to most, so not to worry.  The surgery is not anything to worry about and does not hurt.  My vision is much better now, but the eye exam left me ordering expensive glasses as I cannot see well enough to read without a magnifying glass and eyes get very sore just walking around.  Again, that does not happen with most.  I have glaucoma (?)and other problems.  Most people I know do not need glasses and not bothered by medication drops.  What can I say....just lucky that way.....

Interesting reading about everyone's daily journey on this bumpy old road of life.  My days are very quiet and boring at best.  Especially lately.  Wondering what will become of all those Christians who got caught in the web of that minister and his false teaching.  Next comes the 2012 end of world....Better we remember to try our best each day and trust God to decide when enough is enough....Guess people need to understand the Bible for that to happen tho'

I am still feeding the neighbors cat, who now seems to be our cat, plus a starving Racoon that has been living for years in another neighbors yard.  It comes right up to the door and drinks and eats Billy's food.  Misty seems to have an understanding with it as she sits nearby and watches.  Makes me very nervous and I don't like this one bit....No place for the wild animals to go as all the forest is being cut down to make room for more houses.  I personally prefer the animals!

The kids are leaving on a 3 week holiday in a few days and Amanda and I are going to have to keep things afloat.  Not a good time to be travelling to Europe and my daughter is not well.  Does life ever go smoothly?  This old world is a puzzle....and so it goes....

God Bless,

Liz

Yes, I agree, Liz, life sometimes is a puzzle.

Larry, I'll fire up that new laptop and see if I can locate that little symbol. Yes, That's the problem; I am lost without my familiar menus!

Well, must close. I need to eat a bite before deciding about the remainder of this Lord's day.

May our blessed Lord bless and keep us all till we meet again!

I couldn't get on to CP yesterday nor this morning.  But this time, I did, so I'm here.  Ha ha.

I did have a good day scrapbooking yesterday.  I finished Abby's Dance album, at least I filled all the pages it has; need to buy additional pages.  She is really upset because her dance teacher is moving to Lawrence, Ks.  She loves dancing, especially ballet.  Her mom has promised to try to find a class in Liberal that Abby can attend at least once a week, and her teacher says they have week-long clinics in Lawrence, and she can stay with them; so it will all work out.  She has a recital this week, Thursday, I believe.

I got my book all reformatted and resubmitted!!!! :) :)  I am supposed to hear in four days if it is in usable form now.  I worked and worked and WORKED on it, and think I have it as clean and near perfect as I can get it, so hope they don't find too many things I need to change/correct.  After tweaking it just a little more early yesterday morning (I prayed and God  told me a couple more things to do) I felt at peace with it.   Now the ball is in their court!  ;)

It was so nice when I did get on here, to see lots of new posts!  Good for all of you!  I won't attempt to comment on each one tonight, but just know you are all family to me and I love each one of you!

I spent quite a long time with Beth on Friday, and plan to start reading her the book Life Without Limits by Nick Vujicic.  He is the guy who was born without limbs; you probably have seen him on TV.  Amazing what can be accomplished when you ask God for help, and give life your all.  I think it will encourage Beth.  (Not that she is discouraged!)   ;)

Darrel and I went to a coin auction this afternoon.  He wanted to see how they were selling; as he has been collecting coins his whole life.  There were only 18 bidders there, and it was quite an extensive lot of coins.  Of course, he couldn't resist buying some.  I was really surprised to see some coins sell below face value; but the gold and silver ones went high.  They had one gold Kruggerand which  sold for $1000.   Wish I had a wheelbarrow full of those!  :)

I am going to get into my pajamas and read for a while.  It is strange, but I feel sort of at loose ends since finishing the book.  I told Darrel maybe I should start writing another one, and he agreed.  Hmmmmm....

Good night!

Hi, friends, what a treat to be able to be here with you this late Sabbath Day night.

It was a peaceful, quiet day. One interesting happening is that a friend who had made me feel pretty miserable a few weeks ago called and then apologized. That certainly made life in general be better.

Then, I needed to reach my daughter (she communicates better by text message than with a phone call), and she IMMEDIATELY answered back, and the last thing she said was "We love you!" Of course, that added to be good feelings for today.

Now, I'm waiting to hear from my sister in law. She's quite ill with several different manifestations of cancer. There was some hesitancy on my part about supporting her, but our Lord has cleared those feelings. Now, it's good to be able to share old memories with her.

So, all told, it's been a good day with our Lord completely in charge. Praise His holy name.
