"How could we have such a low view of the gospel of Jesus Christ that we have to manipulate men psychologically to get them to come down and pray a prayer?
How many times have I heard evangelists say, "It'll only take five minutes."?
No my dear friend, it will take your life-–all of it!"

Morning Devotional..."Looking For Christ's Return"
"
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God..." II Peter 3:12
I never shall forget the first sermon I ever heard on the second coming of Jesus Christ after I was saved. I was a freshman in Bob Jones College. I had not been saved very long when I was called to preach. There came a young man to the college who spoke on the second coming of Jesus Christ. He talked about the rapture of Christians. He talked about the resurrection of those who sleep in Jesus. He talked about the responsibility of the church in the light of the coming of the Lord.
I never shall forget how my heart was stirred. I thought, He may come today! He may come before this day is ended!
So when I went to my room that day, first of all I searched my own heart; I confessed my sins, and I searched my soul because I wanted to be ready when Jesus came. Then I wrote down the names of unsaved people, and I spent several hours writing letters, enclosing tracts.
I say to you that the Lord is coming. We need to be reminded that Jesus Christ is coming back again. I wonder, my friend, if you have ever said, "Even so, come Lord Jesus"? Let me ask you honestly, and carefully, "Would you like for Him to come today?" "Are you expecting Jesus to return?"
He is coming soon!
Dr. Tim Malone. But of that day and hour knoweth no man,
no, not the angels of heaven,
but my Father only.
Matthew 24:36
Thank you Pat.
I had the shock of my life this morning as John came upstairs to tell me something.
QuoteWow! Hi John! I was just thinking about Judy and you the other day and how people working in your life bring you to where you are today. I never would have believed that Judy's "quiet" witnessing at work would ever get through to me. But now I'm in church. Go figure! You two are looking great! Have a great week.
I don't even remember being a "quiet witness". Tell me, why is it this lifestyle works with people you work with but not with the ones you care the most for, your family? :'(
We were hoping to; finish mowing, till the garden, and the girls to go swimming today. All that has gone out the window. it is raining yet again. We thank God for the rain just wish it was spread more evenly over the summer season!
Have a great day, fellow Canadians, have a great holiday, day.

Pat, thank you for the new devotion.
This site is super slow for me today! Super slow. Probably spent a half hour trying to get to the photo challenge, back room and last week's thread. Whew! Now I am praying this will post!
The tornadoes in Kansas, Missouri and even Minneapolis are terrible. I just listened to a YouTube of 20 people riding out the tornado in Joplin in a walk-in refrigerator! We had lightening and thunder before day light this morning and probably some rain but no damage.
Yesterday was another awesome Lord's Day. Inky and I even managed to get in a long nap in the afternoon.
Today is rehab for Ivalou and right after that I go for a bone density test. Then? Who knows...{{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}}

Hi everyone. It took a bit just now to get this site to load and am trying to get last weeks discussion to open so I can read the unread messages. It just keeps churning.
Busy morning as after coffee a couple of my friend and I went to the hospital to visit my neighbor who finally got well enough to move from the ICU, where he had been since last Wednesday. He was sitting up in a chair and really looked pretty good for what he has endured. We didn't stay very long as know visitors in the hospital can easily overstay and tire the patient unduly. I then stopped at the grocery store pharmacy and got a couple of grocery items and then stopped by the bank. In a few minutes will leave for my Monday men's luncheon.
Pat, thanks for the devotional for today. It was very timely with all of the hoopla about the supposed rapture on Saturday. As a Christian I am concerned about the ridicule this type of event brings on Christians and have to wonder how much of the publicity was intended to do just that since the Bible tells us that no man can know the time or date of the coming of the Lord. Hope I am wrong about that feeling.
I just read on another Seniors and Friends that there is to be unsettled weather all week for the midwest. Sure hope there are no more killer tonados like yesterday. It is so sad in the lose of life, destruction, and forever changing the lives of so many people.
Judy, hope you Canadians all have a very pleasant holiday. I think we never know what are witness may mean to others.
Our daughter is back in the hospital since Saturday afternoon. She didn't let us know until yesterday afternoon. She is having severe chest pain and her sugar was over 500 again. They are doing another chemical stress test on her today.
Larry, may our Lord sustain each of you as you support your daughter through her trials. Diabetes is "UNfun" - I know...
Judy, how well I understand your feelings, but even in the Bible, it tells us Jesus went unto His own, and His own received him not. This is so heartbreaking for each of us who have worries and concerns about our children's emotional and spiritual health.
May God be with us all - Ruth Ann
Thank you all for the prayers. My mammo and ultrasound came back negative.
I have not posted for ages.... no excuses, as I'm basically a procrastinator... I mean to do things; however multitask so much that many things get done only when I put my foot down and tell myself "DO IT"!!
I really love this domain and all who post telling us of day to day challenges. How great our God is that he cares for the big and the small, especially when we take our hands off and allow His will to be done! I'm a "fixer" and find that He wants to do ALL the fixing because He knows the future and what He has in store for us is so much greater than all we stress about!! It's a day to day challenge, no.... moment by moment!! I read recently "God is more interested in what I am than what I do." May I always do what is in His will!!
My love and prayers are with all who are dealing with the passing of those you love and with those who are dealing with day to day physical challenges.
Praising God for answered prayer, Marilyn.
As JudyB said it's pouring rain here, so all our activities are indoors... for me, mostly bookkeeping; a never ending supply keeps me very occupied.
Hi Everyone...
I'm dealing with the webhoster who promises "new hardware this week" and so I'm praying that all will be patient with the slowness.
Thanks Larry for your comments on the devotional. I thought it fit in well after Saturday and I sure know what you mean about the ridicule, etc. going on in the world. It's sad but... it's prophesied.
Hi Ruth!!!
Great to see you today. We're under severe weather alerts here in Guelph. It's just teaming down.
I was here early this morning and tried to post, but it "timed out" and my post went POOF! and disappeared. I didn't have time to redo it then.
Larry, so sorry to hear that Stacey is in the hospital again. My, she has a time of it, doesn't she? Hope she gets better quickly.
Pat, I enjoyed the devotional. And I miss you. :'(
Larry, I agree about such dumb statements making all Christians look bad; why don't those guys just READ THE BOOK? Then they would knowthat no man knows the day nor the hour; not the angels in heaven, or even the Son, but the Father ONLY.
I see Obummer is wasting more taxpayer money galavanting in Ireland with his family, even took along a 4 ton car. And people here are struggling to make ends meet. :ticked: Okay, off my soapbox now.
Etta Sue: I heard the tape of people taking refuge from the tornado in the large cooler in a store - did you hear the calls for Jesus? I just hope they continue to look towards their real salvation and not forget it in 15 minutes. It is so sad for words.
Larry: Prayers and hugs for you and Pat concerning Stacey.
Pat: You seem to get a lot of the tail-ends of the storms that meander NE from the stricken areas. It still is good to take cover because I know it can happen in your neck of the woods too. How long are you staying in Guelph this time? Enjoy springtime - it hasn't really reached here yet.
Janet: You are so funny! There have been some storms near your area? At least some in your state. Still working on the book?
Letters from good friends came and they have issues with husband facing dementia and the other gal has had two falls resulting in breaking bones - quite a time getting older. Not for sissies.
Forgot to mention that we signed big poster cards and sent messages of love and thanks to troops connected to church members. One twenty-year-old young man is on his 4th. tour of Iraq. Can you imagine? I cannot fathom the concern from the family and hard to imagine what that young man has gone through as he has been in battle.
:) Good evening to all. hanks Pat for the devotional. and it is nice to see you here we miss you. :)
Pat: Next week is the weekend for the Christian Transportation Convention at Guelph Conference Gronds and
:) As you can see the site jumped before I was finished so Pat I will be singing in the Chapel in the afternoon and I think it starts at 2-00 or 2-30 and again it is a musical afternoon it would be great to see you if you are able. They also have lunch served at 12-30 noon.
Larry I am so sorry to hear that your daughter is back in the hospital I do pray and hope thatshe will get some relief of this pain and other problems.
We had a beautiful day but tonight a lot of thunder and again heavy rain. well have a good night and may the Lord look after you all in the Lord's name. Gordon and Noreen. :cp: :pine: :bananadance: :dogrun:
I am so happy and grateful to God for the negative results to my tests. No Cancer. God is so awesome. I have had so many people praying for me including the same friends who prayed for me when I found that first lump 10 years ago that disappeared. I wasn't even worried that my tests might be positive. I had all the blood work this morning and will get those results on Wednesday and I know that my cholesterol is probably high again.
What wonderful news, Marilyn! I'm so happy for you. What great news indeed!
Gord, I have a baby shower from 2 to 4 and then hopefully, I'm supposed to be going with Ruthie to a quartet evening in Georgetown! :(
Hi, friends, I've been listening to the late, late newsbroadcast to keep up with the bad weather we've had. Pat, is cimmy your new dog? It's a great photo!
I'm slowly getting more accustomed to my laptop.
Larry, hope your daughter gets stabilized soon.
Love to everyone,
Ruth Ann
Hi everyone. The discussion was very responsive when I clicked on it this morning as there was really no delay. Pat, I know that things will straighten out soon and also this is teaching us a little lesson in patience. I word of suggestion if you time out on your posting, hit the back button on the browser and you should be able to recover your message. Sometimes if I written a long message (guess that is highly likely) I will copy it to the clipboard just as a precaution and come back and post it later.
Our daughter is still in the hospital and I pity the poor nurses at the hospital. They have stopped the medication that helped her cope with not being able to smoke and she has become extremely irritable. She is not a patient person and speaks her mind. She was still having the chest pain yesterday early evening. They did a PET scan of her heart yesterday and she hadn't heard from the doctor about the results.
I have a fairly light schedule today as just coffee and then a meeting to attend this morning. The rest of the day appears to be free. It is suppose to be hot again today with no rain. We are becoming very dry here in the Atlanta area.
The pictures I saw on the news last night of the Joplin tornado are just beyond description and I am sure the pictures they could show do not reflect the total devastation that has occurred. Then they were having more bad weather yesterday.
Ruth Ann, I hope you were able to find the menu selection so that IE9 is more friendly usable. I think you will come to like your laptop a lot. Pat and I sure ours a lot everyday, in fact, we both use the desktop and the laptops everyday. Seeing those pictures of that hospital in Joplin makes one realize how important it is to stay away from windows during a time of terrible tornados. Does your building have a basement? I suppose your could take refuge in the hallways.
Marilyn, even though you weren't worried and I sure the news you received from your test took away that little doubt that we all would have under the circumstances. My wife has gone through a similar experience several times so understand the situation, at least from the male perspective. Of course, I remember our male friend from SeniorNet days who had breast cancer so know it isn't sometime that only women experience.
Gord, I saw your posting to me on Facebook and answered your comment there. I am not a big user of Facebook but occasionally check out new postings. Sounds like you can anticipate a wonderful time with the choir singing upcoming.
Carol, as we get older more of our friends do as well and we experience the ravages of aging in ourselves and through them. I know I have lost several good friends in the last few years and see many of my long-time friends showing the effects of illness and aging. Your big card that you all signed sounds very nice and thoughtful.
Janet, I fear that our leaders don't find the need for economies since they can tap into the government funds for whatever they need. Our governmental leaders seem to become royalty, at least in their own minds, rather than recognizing they are servants of the people. Power does corrupt. Glad the storms have missed your part of the country. Know that you all have been without rain but sure better than tornados.
RuthV and Pat, we could use a little of that rain down our way. I do hope no severe storms come your way this week.
I hope that all of us are glad to realize again that Jesus is Lord. He is, after all, a caring Lord, and His mercies are new every mornng. Today is the day that Marbeth goes to the quilting group, while I go over to the local coffee shop. Sometimes church people meet me over there, but sometimes no one, so I read the sports page.
Ruth Ann Cimi is my dog. She has been a faithful friend for 11 years now. At 11 I am finding she is slowing down old age is catching up to her.
We had rain all day yesterday, today it is windy. I am hoping the wind drys up the sogginess somewhat.
Larry I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I don't know from personal experience, but I know from watching friends, that quitting smoking is very hard. I sympathize with her, but do understand the need to quit. I will be praying.
Ruth Amm ehjoy the laptop. John bought one to use in the truck, and is slowly getting used to his as well.
I am happy for you Marilyn.
Gord I would love to attend the convention. It has been so many years since I have been to one...Unfortunately I didn't have enough notice. Is Jim going as well?
Carol it is always difficult dealing with someone with dementia.
To the rest of you.....God Bless on this day that the Lord has made!
Good morning!
This is indeed the day the Lord has made; I WILL rejoice and be glad in it!
My day is off to a great start! I received a very nice endorsement for the book from our former family doctor, who has moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He always had such a heart for Beth; said "Who wouldn't love Beth? She's such an innocent!" That is not from his endorsement, but it is so nice of him to take the time to read the book and write the endorsement. God bless Dr.Plumlee.
Carol, I am not working on the book now, just trying to get a few endorsements and waiting for Dr. Saxon to finish the foreword. And waiting to hear back from Tate Publishing. They said within four days, which will be Thursday. And of course, continuing to pray over the book.
The tornados at Reading, Kansas were near where my sister Shirley lives; and her granddaughter lives in Reading. Her house was spared, her garage destroyed. It was a category 3, did lots of destruction and damage. That's a small town, and half the houses there were destroyed, one person killed.
The Joplin storms were awful. What can one say? But I am glad people pull together and help in times like this.
Today is my friend Pat's birthday, I am taking her to lunch.
I guess I will stop, this is jumping so much I can't see what I'm typing.
:groupwave: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PAT AND PAUL! :groupwave:

Do you think he will come back to the U.S. with a new name? O'Bama!
It does seem he travels more expensively than any of our other presidents!
Well, we had a bad storm last evening. I went to Pizza King for a pizza, then Dollar General. While gassing up the car, the winds became gusty! While getting money at the ATM, it started raining. Then home. My garage is a metal pole building. I got out of the car and the wind was so strong and the rain pelting down on the roof that I got back in the car and waited it out. I felt I would be safer in the car than standing in the garage if the wind decided to take the garage! It stopped raining but I semi-ran to the house in the wind. 10 minutes later the sun was shining and was shining until dark!!
Leaves are everywhere.
If you want to see some of the destruction at Joplin, go to YouTube.com and put in the 'search' 'Joplin Missouri Tornado'. There are many YouTubes for the tornado there. Nothing left! Not even a tree standing with all their limbs. Where does one begin after something like that? And so many loses of lives. Some people have still not been found. Precious Moments Chapel is east of Joplin...I haven't heard anything about PMC.
Today is laundry and then hoping to get my yard mowed. I will be going to Nashville, Indiana, tomorrow through Friday with my class...staying in the same place as last year and this year for the church Women's Retreat.
Friday afternoon, on my way back from Nashville I am to meet Donna Getz. She is from SeniorNet/Seniors and Friends from Pflugerville, Texas. She has a daughter and son in Indiana and a grandson is graduating from high school in Carmel...the town where I swim. Donna and I have met several times and she has even spent the night with me. Seems her name on SrNet was Donna Marie. Anyone remember her?tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la

Good afternoon to everyone. I hope you are all enjoying a good day.
Larry, I do hope your dtr is better by now. She has had more than enough health problems and it is certainly draining on all of you.
I see some of you are having more rain than you need...sure wish we could get some of that rain. It has been so long since we got rain that I have forgotten what it smells like. I read in our newspaper a few days ago that we are in Dust Bowl Days condition around here now. We are used to drought, but it is extreme this year. This morning's newspaper said that our town has received .45 inch of moisture this YEAR. And I can assure you that none of that fell on our yard. We got our water bill yesterday for the month, and it was $134. Ouch. But we can't just let our yard die.
Etta Sue, you and I must be twins or something. I also had a bone density test done yesterday. And I am dealing with severe back pain for what seems like ages, due to double scoliosis and twisted spine in lumbar region. Also there is some misalignment with the vertebrae in that area (spondelolisthesis). I was interested in what you said about the Miracle Ball. I am going to check into that. Nothing else has helped. The neurologist in Lubbock told me, "Your back sucks!" and there is nothing that can fix the problems. That was a year and a half ago, and still living with it.
Oh well, others have worse problems than we do, so be thankful.
Janet, I meant to tell you that I am proud to know a published author (almost). I will be anxious to read your book when it is published.
BTW, I have just finished reading a little book called "Heaven is for Real" and it is one that is hard to put down. The author has a grandmother at Ulysses, KS. He is a pastor in Imperial, Nebraska, and the story is about his little son during serous and dangerous surgery for a ruptured appendix, going to heaven and back, during that surgery. It is an amazing story. The author is Todd Burpo.
We were able to go to church Sunday for the first time since January and it was good to be there and sing along with our church family. So much has happened since early February, mostly hubby's health, that we could not go. He has been in hospital twice and in nursing home/rehab for 3 weeks. He is getting stronger now, with Home Health care, but is still on oxygen around the clock, and has to use a walker. He fell down out in the garage one day recently (on concrete) because he did not take his walker with him. Fortunately he did not break anything, but had a monster of a bruise on hip and leg.
And of course the hardest of all is that our son passed away in March. He did not live here, and there was a service in their city, but we were unable to go. But we had the second funeral service here, and he is buried next to us where we will be someday. We had the service at our former church, where he had been baptized when he was eleven years old, and our former pastor preached the funeral message.
Our current SS class supported us wonderfully during that time and provided a meal for us the day of the funeral. Also other church members loved us too. But I am sad to say that our pastor apparently does not know who we are, as we have not heard a word frrm him about this, nor about Earl's illness.. I do not understand this, I always thought a pastor was to be a comforter for the family in time of need.
Thanks, Janice! I will let you know when the book is ready! And yes, Todd Burpo is from Ulysses, he grew up here and his Mom still lives here. I have met him and Colton twice; once at a book signing here, and again when they came so Todd could preach his grandmother's funeral service. Genuinely nice people.
And I know how you feel re your pastor's lack of concern. Our last pastor was that way, as well, and it is really hard to feel they care at all, when they don't show it.
Joplin is bracing for yet another tornado!! Pray, folks, pray! They still have 1500 people unaccounted for there.
I just got an email from my publisher, and they said my manuscript looks good! Publication to begin within 10 days!! YAHOOOOOO!!!
I pray the book touches many lives with hope and faith, just reading how Beth's spirit continues to triumph.
Got to go cut Darrel's hair!
I'm back, got him all "groomed." ;)
Kansas has storms/tornados/hail/high winds all over the place this afternoon! We were under a tornado warning, with warnings of high winds and tennis ball sized hail. We got some rain (thank you, Lord!) and some hail, mostly marble sized. Darrel had just gotten the garden put out, it probably shredded the tender plants. But I can get more from daughter Diane. At least we finally got some moisture! Like Janice, we were in near dust bowl drought conditions, so any rain is welcome.
When I was at the care home today, they were getting all the residents up in their wheelchairs, ready to go to the safe areas, because of the tornado warning. Some weren't real happy about having to wake up from their after-lunch naps. :-\ I didn't stay long; just read Beth what dear Dr. Plumlee had written, then came home to get the car under cover. I sure didn't want it all beat up from hail!
Marilyn, I praise God with you for your good reports from the doctor. Now you can think about other things and praise Him for His keeping power.
Okay, now I'm done. (For this time!)
Hi everyone.
I am happy to be able to report that our daughter was released from the hospital this afternoon. The tests once again did not show anything new. The doctor told her that the pain is probably from small vessels in the heart closing. I think this is also what happens to me occasionally and after a period of time the pain is gone. I asked my cardiologist about this and he said it is certainly a likely thing.
I have been watching The Weather Channel off and on this evening and see what a terrible afternoon and night in the midwest. Janet, I was concerned when I saw the storms were hitting Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and it looks like Missouri again. My wife's sister and family live in the Kansas City area and I see they are in the danger zone as well.
Janet, great news on your book and it looks like things are moving very well on that front.
Janice, glad to read that you have been able to get back to church. It is hard to understand why a minister would not keep a close tab on his people. The last time I was in the hospital my minister called and was going to come to see me but I told him I was to be moved and might not be there when he arrived. So he prayed for me over the phone, which I appreciated. Sorry to learn that you are in so much back pain.
Etta Sue, good thinking to stay in your car until the storm passed. Enjoy your trip away from home.
Happy Anniversary to Pat and Paul. Is this three years?
Judy, our daughter has tried several times to stop smoking but just hasn't succeeded. She makes progress for awhile and then goes back to doing it. Never having smoked I guess I just don't understand but know it is a very hard thing to overcome.
Larry I have been told that cigarette smoking is more adictive than crack cocaine. Possibly because it is legal? I don't know either. But I have seen people struggle for years.
I went through a huge box of pictures looking for one particular photo. I really have to get them organized and into albums. Frankly right now they are a mess dating back to the early 70's. I have a scanner but it is only good up to Windows 98. I am wondering if I can get updated drivers for it on line.
Janice we went to a church for 13 years and when the new pastor came things changed. There became a big lack of caring for some people. We attempted to address this with him and it was to no avail, so we moved on. I still miss the fellowship we had there, but not about to go back at this point.
Well I must get going, I have pictures to get back into the box for sorting at a later date.
I am just on her to request prayers.... There were many communities in oklahoma that have been destroyed or even just affected by tornadoes this evening.... they are headed towards Joplin..... i have heard reports of a missing child that was ripped out of his mothers arms..... prayers requested for all involved..... these are in downstate oklahoma we were NOT affected we got some rain (PTL) but nothing like they are experiencing downstate please pray for them!
Sarah
Praying Sarah!
Happy Anniversary to Pat and Paul.
Someone said 3 years? Can it be that long already?
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your day.
Sarah, I heard about the newest tornadoes today, and yes we need to pray...so many lives lost already and the damage is horrendous. I wonder if Joplin got hit again, the last I heard they were under a tornado warning there again tonight.
I heard there were some people who went into a walk-in freezer to be safe. That reminded me of the time Earl and I went to Fort Smith, AR for my aunt's funeral. We were undecided as to whether to start home afterwards, or stay the night there. We happened to go have some supper at a fast food restaurant and then decide. After we were in there a few minutes one of the staff came around and told all of the diners that they got a phone call from the police warning of an approaching tornado, and to have all of us go into their walk-in. Not very many of us were there but we went in for a little while until they got the all clear message. The storm did not hit Fort Smith after all.
There was a wild fire south of us today, I forgot how many acres destroyed. There was one about a month ago that burned out 17,000 acres in our county. There were 2 or 3 homes burned to the ground too. It is so awfully dry here, and we have wind frequently, so the fires are hard to control. That one got started when a car on the highway had a tire blowout, and the sparks started the grass fire.
Hi everyone. I posted late last night so this will be a short posting for me. :)
Sara, I was glued to the Weather Channel quite awhile last night as they tracked the tonados. It sounds like today will have a continuation of them in some of the same areas and moving North. I understand that there are still 1500 people unaccounted for from the Joplin tornado.
Judy, I very seriously doubt that you will find updated drivers for a scanner that worked with windows 98 but you can always so to the website of the maker of the scanner, do a search on your particular scanner model, and see if any exists. Many people have had to replace scanners after new versions of Windows are released as the manufacturers decide not to update the software.
Well today is the last event for this year's Seniors Golden Games and it is a luncheon and final business for the year. Most of my webwork for the year is over for this organization other than to update minutes that we keep on line when they have a board meeting and there may be a few more pictures.
This afternoon Pat and I are going to go to the AT&T store and join our son's phone family plan. I have decided to get a smart phone and will probably give my daughter the iPod Touch that I had planned to replace when the newer version comes out next. With this smart phone that won't be necessary. We will be eliminating our house phones and using strictly cellphones. Fortunately, we are going to be able to keep our house phone number, which will be on Pat's phone, as she gets most of the calls.

Well, I am almost ready to leave for Nashville, Indiana, for a couple of days. And yes, bad weather predictions. Looks like rain any second. Suppose to be winds, rain, hail, thunder and lightening. Bad. Pray that it goes north or way south!
I got a visitor last evening. The man (boy) that owned the truck that was towed away from between my drive and mailbox came to my door. Seems he blames ME that he has now lost his truck!! Said he was homeless and jobless and can't get his truck from the wrecker service. He told me I called it to be towed the night he left it. I let him know that HE should be responsible for his own actions and that HE was the one that told me he would get it the same evening he left it. I waited 2 and a half days and then called the police. Then it wasn't towed for 3 days...that was plenty of time to find someone that would have moved it for him. Besides it was on my property. He left it the 13th, wasn't towed until the 19th and just realized it wasn't there yesterday, the 24th!! He ended up cussing me out and telling me God would punish me for being so un-Christian. If it had been left anywhere that long, the police would have tagged it and had it towed anyway!
Well, time to move on. I am taking my laptop and it seems that we all may be inside at Nashville a lot. Suppose to rain today, tomorrow and Friday when we leave. "++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++"

Etta Sue it is that attitude that has him out of work and no home. I am sure there is a mens shelter somewhere.
I had a good sleep last night. First in a long time.
I am working on a project here on the puter that takes up a lot of my time. I get so involved with it that I forget to eat and sleep. Sill I know but I am enjoying this so much.
We have a warmer day here, with low winds. Everything is drying out again and I will be able to start mowing soon.
Have a great day everyone.
As far as I can tell everyone from this forum are OK undamaged by the tornado's. I am so glad I do not live in a place where there are tornado's, we only have to worry about Tsunami's here. That is just as bad.
We went out to dinner last night for Keith's 65th birthday. We went to La Costa for a wonderful Mexican meal. I love that place, I had the special which was a Chili Verde Burrito smothered in lettuce and tomatoes. Keith had his usual two Enchiladas , rice and beans. Next time we go there I am going to try the Peruvian food.
Rain here today. I see my Dr. today for the results of the blood tests.
We are having a nice, cool, cloudy day today, but the wind is getting up again. I pray no more tornados anywhere in the country will happen today!
I have been to my chiropractor, and Darrel has gone to the dentist. I tink it's time I stopped playing on this computer and got some work done around here!
See you later!
Hello there! I am (finally) back in my own home after a very long and tiring trip from California. Nita met my bus last night and brought me home, but I was just too tired to even turn on this computer.
This morning I am still a little achy from the trip ... and the bus ride (from Eugene) was really bumpy! :o
I have been able to keep up with most of y'all from my son-in-law's computer, and I have been aware of the needs as well as the praise reports. Would be so nice if the praises could far outnumber the problems! One day that will be true. Oh what a day that will be!
My cupboard is bare ... so is my fridge ... so I will have to go to the store sometime today. Not at the moment, however, 'cause it's started raining pretty hard. I'm not afraid of the rain, just don't exactly feel like getting out in it just yet.
I do praise the Lord that the weather in California was "unusually cool" while I was there. I really don't handle that triple digit stuff very well. :-[
Hi, friends,
I've been listening to a nonfiction book downloaded from the public library. It's by Buzz Aldrin who was the second man on the moon. How odd that on the last newscast, I heard this is the day President Kennedy declared that we would be going to the moon.
Also, Larry, I'm thankful for the laptop, and I don't know WHAT I would have done without your suggestions! It's great your daughter is out of the hospital, and I truly hope she is able to keep her readings and the pain within tolerable limits.
We have tornado watch due to begin about 9:30 this evening. So, I'll be dressed and ready if I need to evacuate.
Y'all have a good rest of the day.
Ruth Ann
Welcome back Jane! Trips are tiring whether you drive or go by train, but I'm glad you got to do some of it the easier way. I've been over the same miles more than once. We took Amtrack from San Jose up to Olympia, WA one time. Sure beat driving. Anyway, may our God restore your strength & energy now.
This site is sooo slooow. I had great workouts both yesterday and today, I was there all by myself since Jane wasn't around to go.
back from the Dr. I am ashamed to tell you m,y LDL number. 166 my HDL was 63 and Triglycerides. 138. anyway the total is 257 she gave me some samples of 10mg Crestor to see If I can tolerate the Statin. She also gave me a Calcium channel blocker/BP pill the generic for Novasc for the Raynaud's in my finger, I'm to monitor my BP 3 times per day and start with ½ pill, if I have a problem with it only take it every other day or twice a week. the same with the Crestor. She spent close to 1½ hours with me answering questions and looking stuff up on line about the side effects of the meds.Plus the computer was kinda slow.
Hi everyone. Just back from choir practice. Almost all of our choir was present. One of our soprano's had serious heart surgery yesterday but came through it very well and had a good night last night.
It was a busy day today. I did attend the final activity of the games and only about 100 of the 170 people who had signed up to attend showed up. There were many vacant seats. I didn't win any of the door prizes either but had a nice time. The meal wasn't anything to write home about but served the purpose. I came home and rested for 90 minutes and then went with Pat to the shoe store to pick up some shoes she had ordered that had come in. They didn't fit just right so they are sending them back and getting a smaller size. She was able to have the heals of her SAS shoes replaced and they now look like new.
We then stopped at the AT&T store but ran into more obstacles as the lady we were dealing with wasn't there and they didn't have the phone I wanted in stock but was on order. So we will try again next week. It isn't an urgent matter.
Marilyn, hope the medicine will not bother you. I have taken a statin for many years and it has never bothered me. The meal sounds very good. I don't know about the Peruvian food but will look forward to your assessment.
Jane, as Al said welcome back as we have missed you. Traveling can be so tiring.
Ruth Ann, sure hope the watch doesn't turn into a warning. Good to keep the TV on and be prepared.
Judy, it is nice to have an interesting project that we are very interested in. Currently I have no major project I am working on but sure one will come along.
Etta Sue, hope those storms through the midwest don't interfere with your trip.
Interesting that you are all having problems with the site being slow. I am finding it is only slow when the internet connection (dial-up) is slow. today I am running at 37.2 Kbps.... For me that is fast! But not at all like dial up. When the server in finished with the upgrades it will be much better.
Looks like John will have a longer time off this weekend. I am praying for dry weather. It is raining again tonight.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBoyDogButterflies.gif&hash=a13e5f9fd0e809befd2f74f412defe8ea0255c05)
I do believe that from 2pm until midnight all three of the local TV stations showed radar screens of the weather! Pre-empted even Oprah!! There are 13 of us here in Nashville. We all came up to go to bed, I am on the third floor. We must have all turned on the TV because by 10:30 most of us were back in the basement waiting out another storm. Nothing bad here but south and north are homes damaged and roofs torn off.
It's raining so I doubt if there will be golfing or shopping today!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ELgcypt.gif&hash=bf944d219138a3803a946828d00624586ff27f95)
The site works perfectly for me this morning. But last night, I couldn't even get here, nor read any email, either. I finally just gave up on it. I sure want to keep an eye on email because of my book!
Larry, glad Stacey is home, hope she can get a grip on the smoking, as I know smoking compounds the problems she has physically. I guess a disappointing meal occasionally make us appreciate all the good ones even more.
I have an app't. at 9, then there is a funeral at 10 for yet another former resident of the care home. So many have died in these past few months! This lady was nearly 102 years old, the grandmother of one of our church members, so our church is helping with the meal. It is a Hispanic family with LOTS of people, so two churches are doing the meal.
I need to find another project to work on, I am feeling at loose ends since finishing the book. Darrel says I should write another one. I'm ruminating on that... :-\
Etta Sue, I hope the weather doesn't keep you from enjoying the rest of your little vacation.
Ruth Ann, glad you are enjoying your laptop. I surely do like mine!
WELCOME HOME, JANE!!!
Well, today I go to the ophthamologist, with the liklihood that he will set a day and time for cataract surgery, possibly next week. The sooner the better, as I can't do much heavy studying until the eyes are better. I pray that Stacey will be able to quit for good quickly, Larry.
Good afternoon everyone. Janet I am so excited about your book I can't wait to read Beth's story.
I have been to Walmart to have the oil changed in my car, to the mall to have my thumbnail fixed, to the Dollar store for 4 items and over to the church to see what was going on there.
Keith went to the Archdiocese in Portland with a man from the Catholic church in Bandon, Keith was hired to do some plans for that church. They left around 8 this morning and I have no idea what time he will be back.
Well the rain has stopped so I think I will try to get the dogs walked before it starts raining again.
I've gotten in so excellent workouts this week, two days I was there all by myself. I stayed on each machine until I could "feel" that I had done enough.
We are back from a sleep-over at daughter's home and we all attended a "moving up" ceremony for granddaughter going into the 9th. grade & different building. Some people talk and talk and it lasted 2 hours & 15 minutes - meanwhile, our daughter loses money on her contract work. Otherwise, super kids were honored - I mean some top math students in the nation and all kinds of things - she has a high almost 4.0 average & does about 3 hours of homework nightly. The class went swimming and ate lunch at a club that was a treat.
Larry: Your new Smart Phone is so smart - it knows your former home phone number :D
Janice: In all our moves, we have experienced three pastors who were neglectful of compassion towards those in need. Not understandable at all - do look for someone who will listen to you. Take care.
I read all the notes & silently said prayers for those in need. We are (at church) keeping copies of military children overseas & saying daily prayers over the names and those who are in missions as well. Cannot fathom all the people who have lost everything including family members in these storms.
Thanks, Marilyn. I sure will let all of you know when Beauty for Ashes is available! Things are moving along....
Carol, don't you hate it when people have nothing much to say and yet take forever saying it? :P I know you are proud of the granddaughter, as well you shoud be!
I just got a call from another of our doctors, whom I had asked to write the foreword for the book--he had it ready, so I went to pick it up immediately! It is really nice. Also, Beth had her 'glamour shot' photos from Nursing home week, they are really nice! Maybe one will be in the book! It is really hard choosing which photos to use!
Tonight is Abby's dance recital, so I must eat something and then we will go. Can't miss that!
I hope you all have a blessed evening followed by peaceful, restful sleep!
Hi, friends, I'm here, the storms really blew hard and both rain and hail pounded my windows, but my car doesn't show hail damage, so I'm very thankful.
I'll go back to listening to my book shortly, but wanted to peek in the door and tell y'all I love you.
I stopped by a little market selling chicken leg quarters for $.59 a pound, loose frozen in a 10 lb. bag. So, the crockpot is merrily cooking away while I'm here, enjoying the conversation.
Y'all be blest through His Word this evening.
Ruth Ann
I am finally on here at CP. I have had trouble with all the different sites I go to, so I figure it is a dial-up or weather thing. I didn't try very hard as I have been waiting for a phone call.
Funny story to tell you. I have been dog sitting for my friend. She is a beautiful Austrailian Shepherd, the colour of a red oak leaf in the Autumn with tan and white, thus the name. The main colour being the oak red. I had "Autumn" over Christmas as well. When she comes she has her kong and a nylon bone to chew on. Most of the time she is loose in the house kenneled when I go out and at bed time. As a result I have kenneled my other 2 spaniels. Our young lad loves to have something in his mouth; a ball, kong, bone, stick whatever. Well little missy Autumn seems to know this and go with her kong and bounces it just outside the reach of our boy. then the barking begins. He figures it is "his" kong and wants it, she continues to torment till I call her and tell her to lie down. She does this very willingly, but leaves the kong just outside the reach of our boy!
I have one portion of my project completed. now working on the next part. A lot of fun but also a lot of work.
I have read all the posts. I am praying for each of you, for God's protection and answers to your prayer.
I am not having the problems with the internet that JudyB is having, however I am on satellite. I did have an outage, earlier, due to storm clouds and rain.
I have been bookkeeping all day both outside the home and here at my computer. I think I'll stop for the night.
I enjoy dog-sitting too and enjoy it when I can have Judy's two over. In July I'll have my daughter's Rock / Shepherd cross here for a week. I was told, last week, I'll also have their newest addition, a white baby rat :P
Lot's of good reading here today.... Thank You Lord for keeping our friends here, on C.P., safe and may the many, who have lost homes & possessions, feel your presence to guide and comfort...
Judy, what on earth is a kong?
Abby's recital was lovely. Her first number was en pointe, and she did really well, and to Grandma's eyes, was beautiful! She had another solo dance, a modern one, and was in the finale, Ave Maria...beautiful! But she is looking SO grown up[! Where did my little Abby go? :'(
I must go to Pat's to get my hair colored and styled; we have a noon app't. for portraits, in Liberal. Seems they want one of me for the back of the book....
Must run!
Good to read all the posts this morning, will be back after I get home!

Excitement for Lapel Class of 1960 and Cornerstone Inn. Four guys played golf yesterday in the drizzle. The rest of us were in the basement just talking. The guys came back but one decided to take a shower. His wife was in the room also.
Us in the basement heard water dripping. One gals investigates and there was water dripping just outside the door to the meeting room. She gets a waste basket and goes to tell someone of the leak. She comes back and the waste basket is full so she gets a trash can. The water was warm and sudsy!!! I mentioned someone fell asleep in the bathtub! Almost right. Jerry slipped and fell in the shower on the second floor and on his way down, his elbow hit the knob that mixes the water and knocked it off the shower wall!! Water gushed out and was hitting the opposite wall. (Great water pressure here!)
His wife ran to see what was going on and saw all the water. He was trying to hold the mixer fixture in place to slow down the water. She called to report the problem and then took over while he dressed.
One couple on the first floor on the opposite side of the hallway went to their room and water was streaming right in the middle of their bed!!
All and all Jerry and Sue left and went home. He knew he would be maybe too sore to drive home today. They moved the other couple to a different room. A plumber came and got the plumbing fixed. Over 80 ceiling tiles are in need of replacing. And the floors are sparkling clean!
Other than wet spots in some of the carpet and a few rooms torn up with furniture moved, everything is back to normal this morning.
Ah, Lapel Class of 1960......
I am going to leave here around 11am and meet Donna Getz in Carmel, Indiana. Then home this afternoon! SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

Hi Everyone...
Life is so hectic at times. I've been back and forth to Hamilton to the hospital to help Wanda's parents with the driving as Lee isn't well and Eunice really doesn't like to drive in busy cities.
Janet, here's a Kong with a dog treat stuffed into it:
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Flh4.googleusercontent.com%2Fpublic%2FtbBnxhh8DQHa7Hp0HVrQBScg6Rjmz3qmAr6jyWQA4fcA9X5Orn2D9G3JmrtHAhvKmfwhIYDWAMisrucX3tMo8LcSDutCiCZse1Z4CO9dVDDIoQAJdFc89o09K7mR4GfND2il5RpgHxVayuf6mJg8e-5XzgNcIC3ZUf-Azz6BcmDXxEnVAmHnrzGDTpX2gRIO&hash=f38b8082099260f3e40e54cdb429b7b681875144)
Hope that shows...
And here's a site with unreal photos of Joplin tornado:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1389737/Joplin-MO-tornado-At-89-dead-twister-cuts-4-mile-swathe-Missouri-town.html
Hi everyone. We had storms and a lot of rain here last night. We didn't get much wind or damage in our area but Atlanta was heavily hit as well as other parts of the State. At one time about 230,000 people were without power. Two people were killed in Atlanta due to falling trees and there were several houses set afire from lightning. After coffee this morning we walked in the park and there were small branches and twigs on the sidewalks from the very heavy rain.
Pat, you certainly do keep busy helping others. I have never heard of a Kong.
Etta Sue, some real excitement on your out-of-town trip. I was afraid you were going to indicate the man had fallen and drowned or something. It doesn't sound like he broke anything but you are right he is probably very sore today.
Janet, I am sure Abby is a beautiful young lady. The time passes so quickly.
RuthV, one of the problems with working at home is that you don't have to leave your work at the office when the clock says it is time to go home.
Judy, the dog sounds like a real tease but a beauty. Glad your project is going well.
Ruth Ann, those storms are really frightening, particularly knowing they are a part of the terrible storm system that has spawned so many tornados. Sounds like you got quite a bargain.
Carol, I am really looking forward to the smart phone and learning to use the Android system that it has. I played with the smart phone that my friend has for an hour at coffee a couple of days ago and know I am really going to enjoy it. I was happy last night when I was able to download the Kindle application on my ebook reader. So now I have both the Barnes & Noble and the Kindle book reader on my larger screen ebook reader. Technology is moving quickly. Sounds like you granddaughter is a really good student. We have a prayer list that is issued each week at our church and a separate attachment listing those family members or close friends serving in the military. Fortunately there have been no casualties of war from among our church family.
Marilyn, it sounds like you have resumed your normal activities now after your hand surgery. Does it ever dry out in your area?
Al, I have little hope that our daughter will be able to kick the nicotine habit. She has used the patch system several times with limited results. Hope you got your date for the eye surgery set.
I guess you can tell by the length of my posting that I had plenty of time this morning as don't have much else planned for the day. My wife just left to attend a meeting and she is going to call me afterwards to let me know if she is going to lunch with friends and if not we will meet for lunch somewhere.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the line at the bottom of the TV screen that said this area was under a tornado watch. Not a normal thing for here, although a few years ago there was one that touched down about 50 miles south. Add to that an almost steady stream of thunderstorms and I kept the computer shut down and disconnected from about mid afternoon.
Pat, it seems as though you are always there, ready to help anyone. How is Wanda doing?
Here's a page that has dog training tips and it's all about kongs. Geordie was our first dog with one and I had never heard of them 15 years ago. Designed in Germany and made of very, very thick and hard rubber.
http://www.training-dogs.com/dog-toy-kong.html
Wanda is doing so much better. She's in the hospital now Monday to Friday having therapy in the brain injury wing.
THank you so much for the Anniversary wishes. They are so very much appreciated.
Well, the date is indeed set for the cataract surgery. It's Tuesday, June 14 at 1:45PM. They said there's also slight possibility of glaucoma at some point and macular degen. also at some point. Please pray that these will not happen Thank you. And thank God our Father, Who definitely knows best.
I will definitely be praying, Alan.
I have a minor operation on my eye on Tuesday. My eyelid is so droopy it's covering my pupil. I have had this done 3 times in the past but also this eye had a retina detachment several years ago involving 4 surgeries and now I have a cataract in it that needs to be removed. All these little things in one eye make you queezy sometimes.
I finally got all of the reading done and wondered why I could not post silly me I had not signed in.
Paul & Pat Happy Anniversary.
The issue of smoking one has to be so strong and determind that they will succeed but all that is needed is for someone to not mind their own business and the smoker is at it again. How do I know I am married to one. Even
X-Rays do not send a loud enough message in this house.
We had the threat of rain all day and I had a little job to do and came home frustrated which is the norm.
Larry: Good Health for Stacey.
Janet: You will be pleased when your book is finally printed.
Time to shut the door until tomorrow.
Etta Sue: Good news that your friend had not fainted or was injured in the bathtub incident. Did the motel tell your class to never return ;D
Al: Be sure and remind again of June 14th. I think Don has a VA appointment on the 13th but not for cataracts as he had them taken years ago when he was in early 50's.
Dentist visit today and all went well - the tooth I chipped in my fall last Oct, will probably be giving me more problems in future but another fix today.
We are not driving or doing anything this entire weekend even though the local television is so proud of gasoline coming down a few cents. The only thing I see is the same price is bananas @ 59 cents per pound (that is what Ruth Ann paid for her chicken). Otherwise, everything else is higher.
Janet: Things are moving along so quickly for you - this is fun and interesting.
Pat: Thanks for all of the Joplin pictures. It still is difficult to even imagine and this is so early in the year for our entire season of hurricanes and so forth.
Al, you will be glad to be rid of the cataracts; I know I was! My mom had the macular degeneration so bad and was nearly blind. But now she has perfect vision, and perfect hearing, too!
I got an email today that my book is scheduled for production!! But...."just to prepare you now, the book business is not known for its "quickness." Production timelines for a book are usually 180 days, and some books take even longer." :( I am believing things will move more quickly than that, though. Beth is so excited she can barely wait!
They say production for my book is scheduled to begin in September. ??? I hope it goes faster, as the rest of the process has up to this point. It is God's project, so he is in charge.
Thanks for the info on the Kong, Pat. Not sure I understand it, but at least I know it's a toy made of hard rubber. ;)
Like Larry and Carol, I thought Etta Sue was going to say her classmate was injured or unconscious, and I was worried about him drowning! That sure added some excitement to the class reunion!
Janet, because a kong is made of such hard rubber (like car tires), dogs can't destroy these "toys". They actually were invented for training German Shepherds and we all know that they can be pretty rough with their teeth.
And when you go out, you just stuff it with little dog biscuits and it takes a few hours for the pup/dog to get them out keeping them occupied while you are out. They also don't bounce straight when thrown and the dog has to be prepared to run every which way to retrieve it.
I don't know why my screen starts jumping when a post gets to a certain length, but it is very annoying. So I will just do another one!
Pat, sorry your eye is giving you problems again, but glad doctors have the skill to help. Bless you.
Hi, Ruth! Are you saying someone in your house isn't perfect? ;) But we love them, anyway, right?
I wish I knew how to post photos. Why have I forgotten all of that? I don't even know how to get them on to my computer any more, and I would LOVE to show you Abby dancing, she is really beautiful, even if this is Grandma talking. Maybe in a day or two when I am not so brain weary, I will experiment a little.
Beth called twice today, wanting me to come see her. But I was in Liberal, so will go see her tomorrow. Her speech was unusually clear, and I was so happy about that!
If I get it figured out, I will give you a link so you may look at the photos we had taken today.....that is, if you want to.
Pat, thanks for the additional info on kongs. Sounds like a handy dandy thing for dog owners!
Of course we want to, Janet!
What kind of camera are you using?
We have some fantastic tutorials on this site that can help you and a Gallery where you can upload the photos to.
Ruth and Larry I sure do know about not being able to cease smoking. although I smoked my last cigarette on Oct. 31, 2003, I didn't have a hard time that time I had finally made up mine that when I moved to northern California I was no longer going to smoke, it took me 3 months to quit. I did take Welbutrin for 60 days. That drug takes away all desire to smoke, it is an antidepressant, with the side effect of helping one to stop smoking.
Hi everyone. It is to be a hot day in Georgia to start the long weekend. Our only special plans will be to meet our son and his wife after church on Sunday in Madison, GA, to celebrate our DIL's birthday. It is only about an hours drive for us and a little bit longer for them.
Al, glad you got the appointment set and sure hope you don't get the macular degen. in the future.
Pat, your poor eye has really tolerated a lot. It is wonderful that things can be done to fix these problems. We have a church friend who had that surgery done not to long ago.
Carol, a few weeks ago bananas were 49 cents a pound but now 55 cents. Everything in the grocery store seems to be costing more.
Janet, September will be here before you know it. It really gives Beth something to excitedly anticipate. She will become the celebrity in the care home where she lives and the area. Have you thought about a book tour?
Janet, I viewed your new photos on Facebook last evening. They are very nice of you and together with Darrel.
Marilyn, I remember well your efforts in 2003 to stop smoking and was so happy for your success.
Yesterday I finally got the smart phone I have been wanting and went under my son's cellphone plan. It is a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate and it is great. I worked on it from the time I got home yesterday until bedtime putting on most of the same applications that I have on the iPod Touch. We will have our current home phone number for the next 10 days until it can be ported over to my new cellphone, at which time my temporary number will go away. At that time she will use up her prepaid minutes on her cellphone and then my prepaid minutes on the old phone I have been using.
I wish I could find bananas for .55 or .59! I have to pay .79 and they're sometimes so green they spoil before they ripen.
Janet, as Pat said, we have some tutorials for posting pictures and for uploading to the gallery here. I know they're excellent - I wrote them! If you need help, just holler. Because we do want to see those pictures of Abby. I remember the ones from a short while ago when she was enjoying her time with Grandma. ;)
Al, your appointment is on my birthday, so I'm sure I'll be able to remember that. ;)

In fact, Cornerstone Inn did ask us back next year. IF I get enough interest, I will contact them for a couple of days...but earlier in May. Seems when we went last year and this year it conflicted with high school graduations and dance recitals!
I found Donna Getz's daughter's home easy. We went to Chili's for Chips and Salsa and Avocado/Spinach dip. We had a great time catching up with each others news and ailments! ha!
Last week at the Daybreak church, one on my classmates said she found online another classmate that we had no information about. She said she would email the information to me. I emailed her while in Nashville to remind her and got the information yesterday after I got home. Today when I went on Facebook, I put this girls 'now' name in and she has friends with the last name of her first husband so I know it is the same woman. So I sent a friend request and a personal message to her. But still, I think I will call her this afternoon! We were close in high school but I haven't seen her since May 18, 1960 when we graduated.
Well, I am all unpacked and everything is put away but the laundry. Today is the Indy 500 Parade in downtown Indy. I like to watch it on TV. Since I have no interest in the race, I am not even sure when the race is...tomorrow or Monday? Aren't I a dedicated race fan? But I plan to stay home unless it is to go to Noblesville, Lapel or Anderson for a meal!
It is cloudy, but suppose to warm up. I turned on the heat pump last night...it was chilly in the house. Now the A/C is back on. Nice day for a parade though.
Larry, I have the Android system. If you can download LiveBible, you will love it. It is YouVersion Bible. Also I have Amazon and Kindle on my Droid. Small but great if you are out and about waiting on someone or something. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Etta Sue is the Kindle free for the android system.
I visited Beth this morning and couldn't believe my ears when she asked me to polish her fingernails! :) That's a first! She had won a basket full of beauty stuff when they had the basket raffle for Nat'l Nursing Home Week, and in it was a bottle of really pale nail polish. Her nails are nice now that she can't bite them. (But I wish she had at least that much movement in hands/arms.) They really needed to be filed some, but she didn't have a file nor an emery board, so I just polished them, will get her a big emery board later. I think she now has enough hand cream to last her for a year or more.
She has asked two of the RNs and one CNA/MedAid to write endorsements for the book; they all said they will. That will probably be enough, with the two we already have. So things are rocking along....
Debra, my former boss at the care home, is trying to coax me out of retirement already! I may agree to work some, but not full time. Several people have quit, so she is looking to dependable Janet again. ???
I think Darrel finally got the rest of the garden set out today. It is a lovely day for it, cool and not too windy.
I am thinking three months will seem an eternity waiting for production to start, but maybe it will pass faster than I think. (I hope!)
Bananas here are 79 to 89c too,but in WalMart yesterday (liberal) they were 59c. Everything is going up, up and up!
I think I will get my camera cable and see if I can put some photos on the computer. Wish Mark were here to help his Grandma!
Thanks, Pat, but I pray the blessing will be yours. It is blessed to pray, because we actually join in God's work when we do it. He is pleased to use our prayers in the accomplishment of His work! Everybody these days seems to think that we get what we want by "ganging up" on God, but that isn't really the purpose of prayer - prayer isn't for the purpose of "getting what we want," but is for the purpose of seeking and finding the face of God.
I do pray for your eye also. I pray that I may be drawn closer to Him in this.
Well, here's a new week. May God add His blessing to it!
