Morning Devotional...

Jesus Prays
John 17:1-26 NLT

After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you.  For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him.  And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.  I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.  Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.

"I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word.  Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you,  for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me.

"My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you.  All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory.  Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are.  During my time here, I protected them by the power of the name you gave me. I guarded them so that not one was lost, except the one headed for destruction, as the Scriptures foretold.

"Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy.  I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.  I'm not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.  They do not belong to this world any more than I do.  Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.  Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.  And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.

"I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.  I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

"I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.  I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.  Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!

"O righteous Father, the world doesn't know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me.  I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them."

Jesus didn't ask God to take believers out of the world but instead to use them in the world.

Because Jesus sends us into the world, we should not try to escape from the world or avoid all relationships with non-Christians.  We are called to be salt and light (Matt.5:13-16), and we are to do the work God sent us to do.

Happy Anniversary to you....... Paul and Pat

the sermon today was on Joy and virtually the same passage that you have in devotions.  After service, we went into the commons area and signed huge cards going to service men & women associated with the church who are in the war zones.  Several sheets on the names & some info about each.   Oh, and another great thing was there was a donation bucket as you exited the chapel for the members who are out of work and suffering.  Did I tell you that we turn and go onto Grace Boulevard to get to the church past the huge football stadium and track field that they have at the high school?  Love the name of the street.

Don just helped me hang a little curtain in our bathroom and we were going to ready a room for painting today but he is tired from working at the cabin putting in electrical outlets yesterday.

Both of us have some dental work this coming month & not looking forward to the big bills that must be paid on those days.  Grateful that we can get the work done.

HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY, PAT AND PAUL!!

My presentation for Sunday School was well received, and they were still eagerly asking questions when the time ran out.  Praise the Lord.

Darrel and I will be going out to the cemetery to put the flowers on all the Damon graves there this afternoon.  But before that, I feel a little nap coming to get me.  ;)

Jeanne, I will likely be contacting you for help sometime in the not too distant future, for posting some photos.  Thanks in advance.  :)

Stopping in for a minute to say Hi!  We are having great weather on the island today and I want to get outside with my book and soak up some of the long missing sunshine.

Happy Anniversary Pat & Paul.

Nice devotional, Etta Sue.  Thanks.  I have been coming to read but not taking time to post.  Not much to comment on.  Was busy looking after the 6 rabbits, 2 1/2 cats while the kids were away in the States.  Went for an overnight in Victoria with my friend from up island.  She left hubby at home to sit with the dogs.  Friends from Calgary were in town.  We had fun.

Have been playing with FaceBook and Twitter, still trying to figure things out.  Please feel free to join me as a friend.  I need people to talk to.......

Glad you are okay Jane.  Hope the rest of your visit if great.

Now I am going to go and take a cup of tea into the garden and finish my mystery story.  It is much more exciting than my posts.

God Bless and Pleasant Day/Evening.

Liz

We are about to leave to have our Mexican dinner. We are both looking forward  to  a feast on a festive occasion.

Please pray for my DIL's father he is having such a hard time with the chemo. He is on oral chemo and it makes him so terrible ill. I am so glad the had a chance to come here to  take care of things before it is too late. He still has his ministerial license so all is well.

Paul and Pat ... I'm "out of my usual corner" and a bit (make that a lot) late in my best wishes for your anniversary.   :-[  Maybe my excuse will hold ... y'see I'm not even in my own home now -- at my daughter's in California.  We have been trying to connect with relatives and it's like herding cats!!  :)

I didn't want to be left out, though, soooooo

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

Thank you, thank you!

What lovely messages to Paul and I.  We had quite a busy weekend and now Paul and a friend of ours are going golfing today so I'm going to go and knit with his wife.    (Not sure if we'll do any knitting but that's our plan)

Yesterday we went to the Swiss Chalet for our dinner after church.  We went to the same one that we met in first after Paul and I had been communicating for awhile.  It was so nice to be where our relationship started to "bud" and celebrate our first anniversary!

Then we went to church last night again and to the park where we had our wedding photos taken last year for a few photos of our First Anniversary.  We'll share when we have time to look at them.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

A sad report this morning.  In the Seniors and Friends site it has been announced that Cornelia Murphree, the wife of Papa John whom some of you know, has gone to the arms of Jesus.  I pray for our Savior's comfort for the family of this lovely lady.

Hi everyone.

Pat and Paul, Happy Anniversary.  It was nice you could revisit places that have special meanings for you on this special day.

Liz, good to see you posting.

Not much new here today.  It is still overcast and rain is predicted later today.  I have my men's luncheon to attend this afternoon and that is all that is on the schedule.

Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional for this week.

My thoughts and prayers are with Papa John and his lovely family.  I know this day had been coming but it is still a most difficult time for any family.

Thanks to all for the comments on the devotion and the quote.  I am always amazed at how scripture fits each and every one of us in the situations that each of us are going through at the time.  God is soooo good!

It has cooled down quite a bit in central Indiana.  It rained while I was reading my daily devotions.  And now I have shut all the windows..it got cool in here and maybe I will keep it cool if and when it warms up outside.  Remember my A/C isn't working... :-\

The ordination service was great last evening.  A very solemn service but also a joyful service.  Ben is a great guy...a great giving guy.  They told that when he went to Mexico on a mission trip that the only clothes he brought back was what he was wearing.  He gave all the rest away.  Another story was that a group of guys at college needed matching sweat outfits for something or other.  He washed cars on a weekend for donations and raised the money to purchase the sweats.  A great guy.

The reception afterwards in the basement was beautiful and tasted great.  Sandwiches, chips, fruit, veggies and cookies.  So colorful and filling.

Ivalou and I will probably go to our local Lion's Club this afternoon.  The Club is having an Open House and serving hamburgers and hot dogs.  We both agreed that would be fun....if we don't get a better offer.  I told her if she got a better offer that she couldn't go without me and vice versa if I got a better offer...Ivalou has to go also!  Hahaha!   :roflBig:

Hope everyone has a great holiday and that it doesn't rain on your picnic!

Marilyn, my first thoughts when I read your post about your DILs father having his license was the same as Al's as the sentence you used seemed to indicate that because he had his license his soul was fine.

Quote

My first words inside my head (and Paul's as well) were similar to Al's so please don't be harsh with Al.  As Christians, we know and realize that there are many "ministers" in churches with licenses enabling them to bury, marry, etc. but that is not doing them one iota bit of good if they haven't repented of their sins and accepted Christ as their Savior and Lord of their life.  Licenses mean nothing when we're concerned with eternity.

Larry:   Thanks for the info about the pictures it really was what I thought now to make the corrections.

I did have a post ready but it was lost but really did not have much to say. I did go to Wal Mart for a short while this morning then stopped at a restaurant for a bite to eat on our way home, while there we met with a couple of bus drivers and had a lovely chat with them.

Congrats to Pat & Paul.
Sympathy to Papa John.

We have been working outside today.  John has tilled the garden again and we have cut down a bunch of vines and brush.  In the process John has been eaten alive by black flies.  For those of you who don't have this flesh gouging bug  read this.
http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.com/index.cfm?PgNm=TCE&Params=A1ARTA0000798
It is hard to imagine such a little bug can do such big damage.  The auto's  both trucks and cars have to be careful of the wildlife moving to the roads to get out of the bush and away from these pests.  We look forward to the dragon flies coming.  That signals the near end to the black flies.  They will have plenty to eat this year.

I still am struggling with this bug, and now Elizabeth has come home sick.  Low grade fever and nausea.  Ug what a way to start John's week of holidays.  She is not going to cadets tonight.

Must be off God bless

Al I have sent you a PM. Sarah's father is a very kind and righteous man of God a worship leader in his church as well as being a preacher. He performs his duties with the utmost conscientiousness, be it weddings, burials or baptisms. I may not have put that is the best of context, With the situation of his health being so iffy at this time and us not knowing if he is even going to survive his chemo I think clouds my thinking sometimes.

My sympathy goes out to Papa John and his family.  It is so comforting, though, to know that dear Cornelia is in heaven.

Ouch, Judy!  Those black flies sound really vicious.  Poor John.. :(  When we go to Honduras for Scuba diving, the no-see-ums eat me up but hardly bite Darrel at all.  Go figure.

Boy, my night's sleep was really short.  I went to bed early enough, but woke up at 3 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up at 4; had to be at work at 6.  Yawn..........

I worked all afternoon (except for taking a nap when I got home) on sorting stuff, taking out things for Pat's garage sale, throwing away stuff, etc.  Why didn't I just throw a lot of that away a long time ago??  :idiot:

I did drive out to the cemetery, but it was still a half hour until time for the little veterans' ceremony, and I was so tired and sleepy I came on home.  That is the first time I have missed it in many years.  I so appreciate our veterans.

Well, Etta Sue, did you get a better offer?  ;)

See you later!

A MEMORIAL DAY WORTH REMEMBERING
by Andy Rooney

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, the day we have set aside to honor and remember all the Americans who have died fighting for the thing we like the most about our America: the freedom we have to live as we please.

No official day to remember is adequate for something like that. It's too formal. It gets to be just another day on the calendar.

No one would know from Memorial Day that Richie M., who was shot through the forehead coming onto Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944, wore different color socks on each foot because he thought it brought him good luck.

No one would remember on Memorial Day that Eddie G. had promised to marry Julie W. the day after he got home from the war, but didn't marry Julie, because he never came home from the war. Eddie was shot dead on an un-American desert island, Iwo Jima.

For too many Americans, Memorial Day has become just another day off. There's only so much time any of us can spend, remembering those we loved who have died, but the men, boys really, who died in our wars, deserve at least a few moments of reflection during which we consider what they did for us. They died.

We use the phrase "gave their lives," but they didn't give their lives. Their lives were taken from them.

There is more bravery at war than in peace, and it seems wrong that we have so often saved this virtue to use for our least noble activity -- war. The goal of war is to cause death to other people.

Because I was in the Army during World War II, I have more to remember on Memorial Day than most of you. I had good friends who were killed.

Charley Wood wrote poetry in high school. He was killed when his Piper Cub was shot down while he was flying as a spotter for the artillery.

Bob O'Connor went down in flames in his B17.

Obie Slingerland and I were best friends and co-captains of our high school football team. Obie was killed on the deck of the Saratoga when a bomb that hadn't dropped exploded as he landed.

I won't think of them any more tomorrow, Memorial Day, than I think of them any other day of my life. Remembering doesn't do the remembered any good, of course. It's for ourselves, the living.

I wish we could dedicate Memorial Day, not to the memory of those who have died at war, but to the idea of saving the lives of the young people who are going to die in the future if we don't find some new way that takes war out of our lives. That would be a Memorial Day worth celebrating.

So sorry to hear about Cornelia Murphree.  Expected but still not expected.  Papa John, if you come in here...my prayers are with you and your family.

Well, Ivalou got a better offer!  And she asked if I could come also.  So went to her son, Jeff's home for a cookout.  I kept mentioning things that I had that I could 'pitch in' and Ivalou kept saying, so and so is bringing that.  So I ended up taking some Pepperidge Farm Cream Filled Pirouette rolled wafers in the Mint Chocolate flavor.  They were a hit.  Some had never eaten them and had to try them.  It is always fun to be with family.

I found out that Tony and Charlene and 5 of her family rode on their cycles...4 of them...to the Ohio River and ended up in Greensburg, IN, where the tree grows out of the court house tower.  From the pictures they found some rain also!

Today I am going to a classmates home to play Euchre.  This is a group that half of them go to Florida for the winter so we only play half the year.

Hope they call me today and say the A/C will be fixed tomorrow!

How's this for logic?

*Hamster Care*

After buying her kids a pet hamster, after they PROMISED they would take care of it, Mom, as usual, ended up with the responsibility.

One evening, exasperated, she asked them, "How many times do you think that hamster would have died if I hadn't looked after it?"

After a moment, her youngest son replied quizzically, "Once?"

Yea you only die once!  Good one Janet.

Well the health unit was by today because of the cat bite.  They want to make sure it doesn't have rabies!!!

We are going out to plant the garden in a few minutes.  We are to have rain over the next few days so want to have it planted before then.  Even the farmer is planting his grain today.

We have Doug's family sick now too.  Doug has asked Kassie to go over after school and give him a hand with the boys and meals.  This is a nasty  bug that we all have.  Elizabeth came home feeling rough last night, and went to bed at about 5:00.  when she got up this morning she said she was fine.  I suspect she was just overtired.

John wore his back brace when he tilled the garden.  That really saved his back.  Not the pain that he had last week when he was tilling.

I must run

Back later JudyB

Judy has your family been tested to see if this "bug" isn't the H1N1 virus.

This sun is beautiful here today, it is going to be  about 61 ° here and that is nice and warm, I hope the wind doesn't come up. I am so tired of the afternoon sneezing fits after walking the dogs.

Please keep my son's father in law, John Jones, in you prayers, the cancer has metastasized to his bones and he has been undergoing chemo, his chemo is oral and he has been having an awful time of it. Twice now he has been rushed to the ER and refused to let them admit him. He has been like a father to my son and  we are a very close family so all of us a very concerned   about him.

Happy didn't want to come out from under the bed for breakfast this morning so I fed him where he was, I think he is still under there.

Nope not the swine flu...Never been near anyone that has been to Mexico, nor anyone who has it..  We are all getting better, with me I am suffering more from allergies than anything else.

We have half of the garden seeded and have more to do. we will be picking up more seed as we have a lot of room yet.  Pat I have lots of zucchini, both yellow and green!  when it ripens if you are in Guelph I will send some down with John and you can meet him and have a feast!

Gotta run

Judy:  Please be sure that it is not the H1N1 flu.

I have been busy making rhubarb sauce as well as a couple of pies one for dinner and the other I will be leaving shortly to take it over to my aunt, the sauce has enough sugar added but I am afraid the the pies did not get enough we will keep the sugar bowl handy.

It has been a windy cool day but will not complain as I do not like the hot July when it arrives.

I also expect to have company for dinner so best get all my errands done.

Not much more going on here either, except to say I am standing on the promises of God in Isa. 54:17 and Isa. 41:10 along with Philippians 4:6-8, As long as I keep those in mind I should be able to get some sleep tonight.

Well this bug is going through the entire house.  Kass will be the last to get it.  It is simple a stomach bug none of the symptoms of the swine flu.  I am fine now.  Legs and back ache but there is a reasonable explanation  for that!   Out garden is planted.  Everything that we had to plant is planted.  I am going to try and get a couple of packages of romano beans and maybe some kidney beans.  So as you see All that is wrong with me is the constant bending, squatting, and planting.  Oh and the rain is due to start tomorrow for 3 days, so that will give the garden a good overall start.I am wanting to plant some flowers this year, red runner beans, and sweet peas.  Hopefully the rain will hold off in the morning and I can do that before it starts.

I really wish I could have done another mow of the lawns before the rain tomorrow.  Maybe in the morning.

Got to go
God bless

My goodness, Judy, you'd better watch it or you will have to be helped out of bed!  That is a lot of hard work.

We got a wonderful, welcome inch of rain last night, for which we are so thankful.  It was cool enough today to need long sleeves, also windy and a little misty.

Liz, it seems your whole family is sick at the same time--not good.  May you all feel better quickly.

I spent my day doing things for Beth.  We took her shelves off the walls in her trailer, and put them up in her room.  I also went through her tiny little closet there and removed her sweatshirts from the hangers, folded and put them up in the shelf above.  Those armoires  (sp?) the bought are huge in size but not at all practical.  Anything with long sleeves, the sleeves drag on the bottom or get shut in the door.  :idiot:  Well, anyway, now she has some of her collection of little elephants and pigs there so she can enjoy them.  And John called today to say he has booked his trip to see her again in August, so that made her happy.

Boy, I am suddenly so sleepy I can barely keep my eyes open.  See you tomorrow.

I had a really nice surprise yesterday. (Speaking of gardening ;D)  My daughter sent a check so that I could buy some new flowers and maybe even a couple of shrubs I've wanted.  Isn't that sweet?  She loves gardening and is planting like crazy.  She thought of me and knows how I have been busy outside.  I'll go this weekend and see which plants jump out at me.

It's been just gorgeous here today.  Not a bit of wind, no rain.......just warm and lots of sunshine.

Both of the babies were here this morning. Moms too.  I wasn't babysitting.  My heart just pours all over in joy when I watch them playing together.  Their little minds are always learning, and they love to dance and hold hands and laugh a lot.  Megan is almost 16 months, and Maycie is almost 14 months.  They're learning about disclipine too!  What not to touch and how to put things back.  Can you tell I love them so much, and they are pure entertainment for this gramma?

Hi, Pat.  Faye is doing well.  She isn't doing the blog right now as life sort of turned when she had the cancer.  Also she's busy doing the traveling she does with her State job.  AND her grandson and daughter are living with them now. :)  She still takes her camera with her everywhere so I'm sure one day she'll get back to her blogging.  She has met so many friends from all over the world.  I don't think she'd want to lose them forever.  They understand though.

MOrning all.  John is feeling much better today.  No more nausea.  Me on the other hand...I ache... no wonder though with all we did yesterday.  Pat one thing we need is some rhubarb.
Ruth your rhubarb recipes gave me a craving for rhubarb crisp!

Well we got the garden in before the rain.  Two packages of seed yet to go but they are flowers not veggies and in our eyes not quite as important.  We are hoping to have our freezer filled by autumn.  John ordered chickens yesterday as well.  They will be split 3 ways, as will the feed so the cost won't be as bad.

Have to go, we need to go into the Bay this afternoon and there are tings I want to do first.

Hi Everyone Just thought I would share some thoughts. Its sure good to be home for a weeks vacation and get some of the things done around the house. Thank God I don't have to put up with the discomfort of the flu on the road as I have had to in the past. Not a pleasant experience. I was out in Iowa last week and really enjoyed watch all the farmers tilling and planting their fields. Yes I was raised on a farm and still get pleasure from the basics of life. Guess that is why I drive a truck. Its the free spirit coming out in me. We live on a wonderful continent and I am often amazed at Gods handiwork in creating this world. We all to often get all wrapped in the day to day routine and don't take time to enjoy what God has given us and be thankful for it. I've been experimenting with a little point and shoot digital camera on the road that someone gave me. hope to post and odd picture here and there in the near future. I see some amazing sights at times in my travels and thought it may be interesting to share some from time to time. Well will go for now, Judy and I have some errands to take care of. Check back tonight.  Bonesy

Hi everyone.  It has been a pretty day here and the sun is shining this afternoon.  The lawn people were here this afternoon and our front yard now looks like a pretty green carpet.  My neighbor and I both use the same company and they do both yards on the same day.

This morning Pat and I went to Bible Study with the pastor.  We spent the hour on the first few verses of Romans 12.  This is an interesting study.  We then we to the donut shop for an hour and then Pat and I went to a Mexican buffet and had a great lunch.  Needless to say we won't be eating any supper.  I have choir practice this evening.

Bonesy, glad you have a few days off and are feeling better.

Marilyn:  You said "my husband".  I must have missed the announcement but send loving hugs to you and wish you a Lord-filled lifetime.

Pat:  Your year has gone so quickly.  At least I think so.  I am cheering for you to move into your new home soon.

Liz;  Hello, nice to see your post.

Bonesy:  Nice to see your post as well - all that driving and then gardening it is nice that you can stop in once in a while.  Thank you for mentioning the farmers as I really don't think people appreciate what it takes to put food on our overflowing tables.  Certainly children are not aware of what it entails to bring a quart of milk into the house.  Sorry about the flu passing through your home now.

Here, Don went to the dentist yesterday & today he is at a board meeting from 3 to 10 or 11 tonight.  I went to the dentist today and then stopped at the grocery store for some soft food.  Washing & ironing now.
Take care all.

Blackberries are not to be found.  We also picked up a package of Hubbard squash and some leeks.  Elizabeth has wanted to plant potatoes so we picked up a few of them as well.  Our garden is full!!!  What an amazing feeling of accomplishment we both have now!

Our snack to night will be rhubarb pie and ice cream.

Ruth, like Judy, you've created  a powerful wish for some rhubarb crisp.  Your rhubarb pie and icecream doesn't sound bad either. You better stop that or you'll have a guest in the house!

Bonesy - I can sure relate to the farms you see in your travels.  Some of the most pleasant trips I've ever taken were through places like Nebraska past thousands and thousands of acres of corn.  I have to admit it's the life I would  love.  My uncle  had a ranch down in S. California, and I sure loved it down there.  There's something very cleansing about working ll day outdoors, even in the hot sun.  I almost took a pastorate down near Winnere, SD - all farmers there.

It seems lately that "I don't DO mornings!" However, the afternoon hours were busy with taking a new friend to the doctor and grocery store, then picking up meds for both me and my son at two different pharmacies.

It was certainly good to come home to leftovers that could be warmed up.

Ruth An i am not a morning person either.  I understand

It is late.  We are heading to bed.  John is considerably better today and has stayed with a light diet but there has been no problem with it.

Elizabeth is feeling better.  Pulling full classes, and not having a problem with it.  She may have been just overtired.  She pulled a couple of really late nights.

Kass so far has dodged any symptoms of the flu....BUT she has been on antibiotics which may have stopped anything starting.

Well night all

Hi All Just a quick post before turning in for the night. I understand what you mean about the corn in Nebraska Al. When I drive out in that area in the summer the corn is so high I can't see over it from the drivers seat. That is significant as few people probably realize that in a big truck the drivers eyes are 7 to 8 feet above the pavement depending on where one adjusts the air in the seat. That gives a little perspective to the height of the corn in that area. Also when you travel the Midwest before the crops attain full height one feels pretty insignificant due to the vastness of the geography. Well Night all Talk tomorrow. Blessings Bonesy

Hi everyone.  I am here early before going to coffee.  My calendar is clear today so will work on some of my continuing projects and just have a laid back day.

We had a nice group out for choir practice.  The director had selected 4 new pieces for us to add to our folders for use after our July summer break.  We have done all 4 in the past but it has been several years.  However, they quickly came back into our minds and shouldn't be difficult to get ready.

Having grown up on a farm I certainly appreciate what is involved in a farmer's life.  I knew it wasn't for me and have never looked back.  We not only raised crops but also ran a dairy farm, which involved doing chores twice a day 365 days of the year.

Glad to read that foks are feeling better now.

Hi Folks Just a quick note before I start my day. have a few thinks to do today, mostly fixing some flat tires on equipment.

Larry I appreciate your thoughts about the farming thing. Yes it is certainly a 7 day a week job particularly if there is livestock involved in the operation. Been there done that as a kid myself and now have gone from one 7 day operation business to another one which is the trucking business. With this economy that we are in things get pretty tough at times and one needs to go when there's work to be done and relax when its slow. I fortunately work for a company that is financially stable as they have their fingers in many pies so to speak.

Pat its good to post and make contact with some of the old friends, Just wish I could meet some of them personally and sit have a cup of coffee with them and get to know one another a little better. Maybe if all goes well I can make that a retirement project. That's only 4 years away now. My how time flies. At this juncture in time it doesn't seem possible to find the time for retirement.

Oh well we take one day at a time. Well got to go for now.

Blessings to you all and remember that in all we do and say, we are the light on earth for our Lord that the unsaved world judges our actions by. By for now. Bonesy.

Jeanne occasionally he is in your area. It has been about a year since he has been there.  He has met with Ruth Ann once but hasn't been close enough for another coffee chat.  His main area of travel is around the Great Lakes.  Yes truck drivers are like fishermen...Lots of tall tales.

We have more rain.  A nice gentle rain.  When we planted the garden we separated some strawberry plants, and I wasn't sure they would survive.  Well last night we were in the garden and all the plants were standing up.  Only one problem with rain.....I can't get out to mow and the grass is getting long.

Today will be a lazy day.  A bit of inside work to do.  We are going to be moving rooms around.  I am starting preparing for that now.  I will tell you more as we start the renovations.

Have a good day everyone!

John was just looking at his map and he went by your area about a month and a half ago.  He was going from Albany to Montreal.  So yes he is in your area at times.  He stayed in Wilton that night, there is a truck stop there!

A beautiful morning here on the island.  I have enjoyed reading all the posts.

Bonsey, I really enjoy your posts and the fields of corn reminded me of that old song...."The corn is as high as an elephants eye, and it reaches clear up to the sky.  Oh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful day."

Despite the good weather, things just keep falling apart here.  Amanda is still ill, Ralph will need an operation, a favorite rabbit has suddenly developed Ryes Neck and is now on medication and residing in the garage, and Misty has developed an eye infection and will need to see the vet.  Until the kids got back from holidays, things were great and life was happy.  While bathing Misty's eye, Wendy and I remarked on how Misty got stung by a bee and was going nutty the day after they got back....and that started the slide into ?  We started laughing so hard it scared the cat.

It must be my Danish ancestors who gave me the ability to laugh at life in the face of adversity and it passed on to my daughter.  Did you know that Denmark has been considered the happiest country in the world for the past 30+ years?  I was curious about why and looked it up this morning.  Was beginning to think we were nuts and didn't realize it....

After careful study, Dr. Christensen thinks he isolated the key to Danish anti-depression. "What we basically figured out that although the Danes were very happy with their life, when we looked at their expectations they were pretty modest," he says.

By having low expectations, one is rarely disappointed.
;)

Hmmm!

So that is what is going on.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Liz Try bathing the cat's eye with tea bags, and then use polysporin drops.  That is what my vet told me to do when I had that problem with a cat.  A little less $$$ than the vet visit.

We did remember that saying....didn't know it was a song though.

Good morning.  It's been fun reading about all the farming, farms and farming country.  I am a country girl at heart.  I would love seeing what Bonsey sees on his trips.

Farmer's Market officially opened here yesterday.  I missed the first day, but will check it out next Wednesday.  I enjoy shopping in the outdoor market, and getting the freshest of produce.

Judy, no rain here, and I finally got the end of my mowing done yesterday.  Just in time to start again. :)  Today I'm using the weed eater to trim things up.

Ruth Ann, I've always been a morning person.  I love waking up early, especially now, and seeing the sun already out.  Or waking up earlier, grabbing my blanket and coffee and sitting out watching the sunrise.  It's sort of chilly, but I am all wrapped in my blanket so it's pure joy.

Liz, I don't think I am Danish, but I am a happy person.  I don't think I have great expectations either, so maybe that's the key?  I do trust that God has my life in His hands, and each day it's exciting to see what "We" will do with it.  :)

I am sending my wishes for a God-Blessed day to all of you.

I must be Danish at heart.  I seldom get down.  Always seem to think that things could be worse and to be thankful for what I got/have.  Even my A/C not working.  It could be worse.  It could be August and 90 degrees every day!  At least it cools down at night.

As for farms...when I read my devotions, I can look to the north at the field across the road.  It was planted in corn last week.  Yesterday I was marveling at the straight rows.  We had a rain last night and this morning, I marveled at the sudden green growth in those rows.  It has been misting rain this morning.  You can almost 'see' that corn grow!  Even looking across the rows you can see a tinge of green.  Bet the farmers that have their planting done are happy for the rain last night.

Ivalou and Kaye Don mowed the grass yesterday.  I thought...I am going to mow tomorrow, then mow next Thursday and have surgery Friday and hopefully by the time I need to mow again, I can do it myself and not rely on someone else to mow.  But I wasn't counting on rain last night.  It is pretty wet out there right now.  I took the trash and walked in the grass coming back home and my sandals sure got soaked.  WeatherBug says a chance of rain this afternoon.  Maybe it will dry off and I can mow this evening.

Marilyn ~ I caught the 'husband' word also.  Are you going to tell us anything?

Today is Kaye Don and Barb's 54th Wedding Anniversary!

Not anything else planned today.

Philippians says I have learned that whatsoever state I am in I will be content, whether I abound or am in need,  That is not a direct quote.  I know a lot of people who are never content.  Always wanting one more thing.  They are miserable.  I am content with the "things" I have.  I can't take them with me so why want more.

Wish you were down here, Judy.  Sorting the garage and finding lots of Avon stuff but I'm giving lots to Bibles for Missions down at Len's Mill as I have to get it out of there to make more room for a freezer in there and then get rid of the one in the fruit cellar.

Judy!!!  I know that truck stop in Wilton!!!  What a shame we didn't know enough to connect at that time.  I'll send you my phone # by email and if he comes this way again he can call me and I'll meet him at that truck stop.  (I'm sure he wouldn't want to take his rig over Wilton Mountain Road from there to my house - it's a dilly.)

Pat bag up the Avon the girls will think it is Christmas!!!!  John can pick it up when he is down your way, but you will have to meet him, he can't take the truck to your place.

Jeanne do trucks go over the mountain?  We have been on some dillys!

Pat get Paul to take you there!  He would enjoy the trip also!

Pat, that was so early in our friendship I don't think we felt the desire to meet that we have now.  But we have had some "interesting" phone calls, haven't we?   :D

Judy, unless I'm mistaken that road is one of those with restricted weight limits.  Of course construction and dump trucks and the like do have to take it at times, but they crawl and it's frustrating to get caught behind them - absolutely no place for several miles to pass safely.  I've never known of a big rig taking that route.

Hi, friends,

I think today has been pretty productive. Just housekeeping type chores, but it gives us a sense of satisfaction when they're done, doesn't it.

I've been listening to Pandora.com while working, right now, it's playing "El Shaddai", one of my favorites.

What a blessing to be able to listen to good Christian music at any time day or night through Pandora.

Y'all have a good day.

I'm also a country girl, raised on a dairy farm, actually was one of the dairy maids.  ;) But the area where we lived was very dry and harsh.  I love driving/riding across this beautiful country of ours and seeing the contrasting landscapes.  God has such infinite creative genius!  If heaven is even more beautiful, then WOW!!

So far, Pat is the only CP friend we have met in person, and we did enjoy that visit so much!  Oh, that's not right---we also met Ruthie!  Sorry, Ruthie--you need to pop in and post more often.

My heart is heavy today.  Beth is very ill, and was taken by ambulance the few blocks from the care home to the hospital this morning.  In all the trying times of sickness, accidents and surgeries I have gone through with Beth, this is the worst I have ever seen her look.  Her color is ghastly, she is in intense pain, dehydrated, has a raging infection, and is totally lethargic.  :'( :'(  The nurses are so angry at the doctors; they have been calling and faxing them for a week, trying to get them to come see about Beth.  They just kept promising "I'll be there this afternoon---or tomorrow--or...."  :ticked:  They have her on IVs, are giving her morphine, and are going to do a CT scan of her abdomen and chest X-Rays.  Prayers would really be appreciated.  Thanks so much.

I am a happy person, too, and nothing ever gets me down for long.  When you have a chronically ill daughter, as Liz, Larry and I all do have, that's a really good thing.  Thank you, Lord.

Just thought I'd give you all an update on
Judy and Norm McKenna:

As you know, Judy is in traction in Henderson Hospital in Hamilton and I've taken Norm up and down to see her.  Well, Judy persuaded Norm to go into the Royal on Gordon, a senior retirement home here, to stay until Judy is back in Guelph.

They also put their house up for sale and decided that since Judy may not walk again, that they should move into a new retirement home here in Guelph and they signed up for a two bedroom one.

Well, yesterday, Norm didn't turn up for breakfast at the home he's been in.  So they checked his room and found him on the floor and very, very ill.

A call to 911 was put in and he was transported to Guelph Hospital where they found that he had had a massive heart attack and also a bleed in the brain.

He was transferred to the General Hospital in Hamilton where they did emergency surgery on his brain and put in a drain.  Karen and David both arrived.  He doesn't know the kids although he moves his eyes around the room as they move.  David is praying with his father all the time and Karen is listening.  Karen has never made a profession of faith in Christ.

Well, the hard part is that Judy is in a close by hospital in traction and she's asked for permission to go off traction and go by stretcher in order to go to the other hospital to see Norm so that she can even say "Farewell, see you on the other side." but they can't arrange it due to complications.  So poor Judy is very close but can't get near to him.

Please pray for these two dear people.

Praying for Judy and Norm.

Keith has gone to Bandon to take photos, using my camera, of a  home being built by a lady who lives in Alaska. We have to  process the photos and email them to her as well as send the printed copies via snail mail. This morning he taught me how to operate the blueprint machine and get them ready for the contractors. We keep the original plans.

Janet, please know I am praying for Beth and for you and Darrel and the family as you cope with this latest upset in Beth's care.  I ask that our loving Heavenly Father will wrap you all in His loving arms and give you His peace and comfort.

Pat, I've also put Judy and Norm in the Lord's arms and I ask for strength for you as well in this sad situation.  It's good, though, that Norm was in the retirement home where they would know he was missing, rather than at home alone.

That's for sure, Jeanne...  If he had been at home, it would have been just terrible.  What a great decision Judy made in having Norm agree to go to this retirement place while she was in the hospital.  I was just speaking to her on the phone and nothing has changed.

Oh Father, make Your blessed presence know to Janet and Beth I pray, and grant also excellent wisdom and insight to the hospital personnel and doctors in dealing with Beth.

And, Father, I pray exactly the same for Judy and norm.  Oh let them be fully aware that You are there in all Your love and mercy.

Oh do these things today, Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am really wiping the tears as I read here this evening... The conditions/complications with Beth sound so dire and I know, Janet, how this pulls on your heart.  I am definitely praying for her -- and you.  :(

And then I read about Judy and Norm Mc ... How horrible for them both.  It makes anything I might think I'm "going through" seem so trifling.  Pat, please let them know of my prayerful concern.  Thank you for bringing the update.

Thank you, each one of you dear ones, for your prayers in Beth's and our behalf.  What a day this has been.  They operated to put in two drain lines, drained over 2 liters of fluids from her abdominal area, put in a port by which they can give her nutrition, as they found she is critically low on several vital nutrients.  He said that just since he last operated on Beth, that the neurofibromatosis has gone absolutely wild, and the tumors are affecting every organ in her body.  She is in grave danger of pneumonia, and her lungs are very fragile.  She is running a fever, and still in pain.  They are giving her morphine for the pain.  Part of her "gut" is paralyzed, so she won't be able to eat for some time, and the reason she is dehydrated is because the water she drinks leaks into the abdominal cavity, and doesn't filter through her kidneys.

There was a lot of other information, but I was so shocked, and all of it so new, I couldn't absorb it all, and now it is confused in my thinking.  He did tell me that she might not make it; and that she will die from the NF at an early age.  My response is that only God knows when she will die and that if she does die, she still wins.  She will be dancing on streets of gold, and using her hands to paint lovely pictures, and singing with the angels.

Dr. Barker told me that I have done everything perfectly (I haven't) and that I have nothing to blame myself for nor have any guilt.  He said "you are amazing."  Very kind words which I don't deserve, but they were good to hear.

They plan to transfer Beth to Amarillo early tomorrow, and she may need more surgery, though I have no idea what for!  Her spirit is still sweet and her attitude good.  Before they took her to surgery, she told me she thinks this is the last storm.  I asked what she meant and she explained that they say things sometimes get worse just before they get better, and she thinks this is the "worse" before she gets her healing.  So she is clinging to her faith, and I'm so glad about that.

Pat, please tell Judy McKenna I am praying for her and Norm, and that she will get to go to where he is, so she can see and speak to him.  Bless them, that's really a rough thing for them to be going through.

I have no idea when I will be posting again.  I am thinking I will not be able to go to my painting class next week, and maybe not even the family reunion the following week.  God bless you all.

Janet ~ I can't imagine what you are going through...how you feel...or even if you feel.  God bless Beth and all of you.  You are so right...Beth is in a win/win situation.  Lovely attitude.

Pat ~ Please give Judy my love and let her know that I am praying and thinking of her and Norm.  I sure am praying that Judy gets to see Norm.  Come to think of it, they are both in win/win situations also.

I did get a call from the A/C company.  Parts for my A/C unit are no longer available so now Jake will be coming Monday around noon to see if there is anything else that he can do and if not, then I will have to get a new unit!  Wasn't counting on that!

I did mow yesterday and then used the weedeater.  I had a message from my insurance man but opted to shower before returning his call.  He is the man that got my supplemental insurance for Medicare.  I got a letter saying the premium was raising $11 a month after it raised $10 the first of the year.  He is coming after my surgery for me to sign papers to get a different policy for cheaper than I am paying now.  One question they ask is if you have any surgeries scheduled.  I do now but not after my surgery!!!

Then Ivalou called around 4:30pm and asked if I would like to go for Chinese.  So we went to Noblesville to the China Buffet.  Ivalou was talkative and we sat for an hour just talking after eating.  Solved the problems of the world!  So if you feel the world is a better place today, thank Ivalou and I.  If not, then we have more problem solving to do!!   ;)

This morning I went to Pendleton and got my car maintenance done.  I didn't have anything else to get so I came back home.  Nothing scheduled for the rest of the day.

Hi everyone.  Such sad news here today and so sudden.

Janet, my heart goes out to Beth and to you and your family.  I know the next days are going to be rough ones but God will work his perfect will in her life.  I will be praying for you all.

Pat, thanks for sharing the information on Judy and Norm.  I am glad their children are there at this time.  I am also praying for them.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you could be in for a new air conditioner.  Glad this is happening now and not on July 4th.

I have been to coffee at the Senior Center and then walked a mile at the church gym.  I am awaiting my neighbor to get here to do a small job for me and then have some shopping to do this morning.

I will be talking to Judy later and will be reading all of these messages to her.  This will definitely encourage her.  She seems to have resigned herself to the fact that she probably won't see Norm again on earth.  It's impossible as there is a "bug" in the hospital where she is (we all have to put on gowns and rubber gloves, etc. when visiting) and it's not in the hospital where Norm is so actually, she's quarantined so they won't allow her to go.  :(

Words fail me.

My pastor is with her right now so he's going to phone me later on and let me know how she is today and he is also visiting Norm.

Janet thank you so much for the update on Beth and I will continue in my prayers for Beth and you. I can't even imagine  the way you must feel in caring for your child. I can't imagine having to   care for a child of mine  the way you have for Beth plus your mother at the same time. It takes a strong  woman to do what you have done and still do for your  family and to be so totally committed to their care. That is love of the highest degree.

Jane any news on a new vehicle yet? Or when you might be returning to Oregon?

Etta Sue I think you are keeping a lot more busier that  am anymore. I  stay pretty close to home except for the weekend shopping trips to Wal*Mart, getting my nails done every two weeks and walking the dogs every day.

We go to the office on the weekend to take the garbage, and do a little cleaning if it needs it. We had 3 vacuum cleaners here so I took one to the office. The carpet sweeper Keith had there was about 50 years old his father had it in his office. I have only put $20 of gas in my car in the 2½ months I have been here.

I have my Part D insurance through AARP United Healthcare and I just found out that if I use their mail in prescription service I can get any 90 generic prescription at no cost and  only  a single co-pay for a 90 day supply of brand name meds.

I had to feed Happy under my bed again this morning as he didn't want to come out, they have been sleeping under my be since long before I moved up here. Their dog beds are int he big master bedroom now and they still sleep under my bed in the small bedroom. My husband rearranged the  chairs in the big master bedroom so their beds could go in there. There is no way they can get under that bed.

I got a sweet congratulatory note on my marriage last month from  Pastor Danny from Mckinleyville yesterday, I didn't expect that.

Pat please give Judy my love and tell her that I am praying for her and Norm.

My Heart is aching.  I was up late last night as I went over the reasons for a meeting John had in North Bay this morning.  There are lies and gossip going on and he needed to deal with it.  I remember a verse Mother would quote. Numbers23:32 Be sure your sin will find you out. It has in this instance and the repercussions have yet to start.
I can't impress on the girls enough that when they sin God knows.  Even if "people" never find out God knows.  It doesn't matter how old they are sin is sin and God knows.  It is a message that the world wants to silence.  This whole situation that John is dealing with is so sad.

We are having a garage/yard sale here on Saturday.  I am baking small loaves of bread to sell, both white and raisin.  When John is finished in North bay he needs to pick up a fer things from the store for me.  Then I will be full steam ahead.

Kass is still home today.  She insisted on going to school yesterday but didn't make it past homeroom.  I made her some potato soup for supper last night and it stayed down. She had that for breakfast as well.  She is much better today.  That is this family done.  We can now get on with living life.

There is so much sadness on CP right now.  Let Judy know I am praying for Norm, as well as for Karen's salvation.  Janet I don't know when you will be in here next, but know prayer is going up for Beth as well as for you and Darryl.

Keep on praying folks!

Pastor Boadway went to see Judy this morning and Norm was unconscious in the other hospital so he just spent more time with Judy, praying and reading the scriptures to her.

He called me from his car phone on the highway and told me of the visit and that Judy is resigned to the fact that she won't see Norm again, etc.

David and Karen (Judy and Norm's two children) couldn't sleep here in the house in Guelph so left early this morning and went first to see Norm.  When they both got to his room, (and this is just a miracle), Norm was sitting in a wheel chair.  They immediately started to cry and he said, "What's the matter with you guys?|

After awhile, he wanted to get out of the wheelchair and Karen had to stop him and told him, "Dad, you've had a massive heart attach!" and he said, "I did??"

Anyway, Judy's phone rang in her hospital room and David spoke to her and said, "Mum, there's someone here who wants to speak to you!"  And she waited and there was Norm's voice saying, "Hi honey!  I miss you so much!"

Judy is ecstatic and can't believe what's going on.  We're not sure either.  The bleeding has not been stopped in his brain and he's still very, very ill.

Just wanted you all to know first here at CP.  Please keep praying!

Hi Folks

Janet our prayers are with you and Beth and also with Judy and Norm in their situation.

Back from my meeting in the Bay.It was a stressful meeting as there was many issues to deal with. I find in a lot of ways it's easier to drive my truck than get involved with issues, but we are sometimes called upon to deal with unpleasant issues.
I do sometimes ask myself why me Lord, but I take comfort in the fact that He knows the big picture has decided that there is something in my skill set He cam use.
Inevitability I come out of these type of meetings and reflect back on the conversation and wonder why people make such a mess of things. If only we would follow the model for life set out for us in scripture, we could all go through life with a lot less confrontation in our lives. It's when we try and bend or break our scriptural rules that we run headlong into confrontation. I must confess that I have been and am sometimes guilty of that myself. Always with the same result so why keep doing this over and over again. I guess that's our sinful nature coming through. I don't enjoy dealing with confrontation but it does come along from time to time and have found from experience that it is best to deal with it, do what needs to be done and try to resolve the issue.
When I look through scriptures I learn that our Lord and Saviour dealt with things directly. He didn't beat around the bush or ignore the problem hoping it goes away. Some may not agree with me but I find Christ was/is strong determined and does not back down from adversity but unlike us He did it did/does it with grace. We all need to strive to be more Christ like in everything we do, particularly in our relationship with others. We need to stand for truth and expose the lies. Thus ends my soapbox presentation.  Bonesy

A very beautiful day here on our 'once again' sunny island.  I sat outside with a cup of tea and Misty kept me company.  Decided her eye was beyond my help and took her to the vet late yesterday.  She needed antibiodics, a shot of some sort, medicine in and for her eye....etc.  Cost $119.00.  Will have to take medicine for the next week and get salve in the eye.  Looks better today and she is not in pain now.  Goodness knows what caused it????

Janet, I have been praying for Beth and will continue to do so.  Can relate to how you must feel and am praying for you as well.

I feel so sad about Judy and Norm.  Don't know them in person, feel like I do because of this site.  Will continue to pray and am so glad that he has been able to speak with Judy.  That certainly is a miracle.

Marilyn, I am glad that you have finally told people that you got married.  :)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Pat, what a wonderful thing to have happen for Judy!  To hear her husband's voice must have been a precious gift and just what she needed for encouragement.  She's trying so hard, it seems like, to accept the things that have happened, and to submit to the Lord, and then to be handed what she didn't imagine could ever happen.....his voice.  I can just cry thinking about it.

Lots of things going on.........and sadness I see, not here only, but as I look around.

Bonesy, I appreciated your post and fired up sermon. :)  I take it to heart because it's the truth.

The way things are in the world now...if we don't live our lives according the the Word of God and his Truth, we don't have a prayer, do we?  I see so many Christians, and God knows I'm one, who try to walk in the world and use the world's right and/or wrong standards as their own sometimes.  Then I pick up the Scriptures and see how Jesus said I am to walk and I find myself so far away from his loving demands.  Over and over I see Jesus telling it like it is, and then walking away.  That doesn't look like love to some.  It was the greatest Love the human race has ever known.

I'm praying for all the needs expressed here.  Many of us are troubled today.  None of it caught God by surprise and we are all in His hand.  He is our Father and loves us.  I'm so grateful to be called simply His.

This has been a really long day.  I have baked a lot of bread of all kinds.  Whole wheat, white, raisin, and oatmeal.  It has turned out really well.

Doug and Megan came over tonight and Megan's first question was, "What's for supper, Mom?"  I looked at her and told he I had no clue.  She pitched right in and prepared supper.  What a nice treat that was!  Melaura made up some scrambled eggs for Mariah and sat her down to eat.  She is becoming quite adept at the use of a fork.  Very good for a 1 year old baby, not much landed on the floor much to Cimi's disgust! Cimi loves to clean up after her.Melaura is turning out to be a very good Mommy.  She listens to Megan and has picked up her way of doing things.  She could have a worse example.  She graduates Grade 12 in a couple of weeks, and will be going on to College in September.

Kass was better today, and as the day wore on she improved.  I am letting her go gliding tomorrow.  It is a cadet activity she loves.  With the improvement of today and a good nights rest she will be fine.  She is insisting that Elizabeth goes with her.  Hopefully she will actually go up in the glider and get over her fears.

Well it is late and I need to get some rest too.

Night all

Hi everyone.  It is a beautiful day here in Georgia, as was yesterday.  We are suppose to have several days of nice weather with no rain.

I had a nice time at the cafe with the guys for coffee this morning.  We don't walk on Saturday because the gym is not open.  I have a meeting to attend this morning and Pat is going to visit with a friend in rehab who should be able to go home this coming week.  She has been there several weeks and is really tired of the place, the food and the way she seems to be treated.  I am sure Pat will cheer her up.

Jane, hope you have a good trip home today.  Glad to see that things are working out for you.

Pat, thanks for sharing the more encouraging news concerning Norm and so glad he was able to speak with Judy.  I hope we have some better news from Janet this weekend, as well.

Judy and John, it sounds like things have been very busy in your household.  Glad that Kass is feeling better and will be able to do the glider.

Liz, glad your cat is doing better.  Vet bills can certainly grow.

Marilyn, it sounds like you are staying close to home.  Glad you learned about your prescription plan as that should save you some money.

Well, here I am getting ready to start the day.  What we have is called "patchy fog," but it's really just the stuff we always have around here.  The north coast is the foggy coast.

Our church has a fellow who has largely recovered from  drinking, drugs, etc.  His wife was and is far worse, and they are divorced.  She's gone to Colorado, but she's living with other men, doing drugs, etc.  The fellow, Wesley, has their little girl, who is 4 1/2.  He's living on disability with some supplemental income from gardening work.  He's doing really well in staying clear of drugs, etc.  He's also trying to  read and understand the Bible, with which he has a hard time.  I'm trying to help him with that.  I'm hoping I can get together with him today to help him understand what he's reading.  Pray for that.  He was in the Seabies and has seen a lot of hard things.  Right now he's trying  to raise his little girl while also nursing a semi-broken foot.  He will also need extensive dental work.  Pray for  Wesley.

Bless you Al.  Discipling this chap will be really rewarding.  Yes I will be praying for you  both.  Also I will pray for his wife.  Harder situations than that have been resolved by our Lord.

We have a garage sale going on and I am amazed at what is selling.  Things  given to us by a neighbor which we have considered junk have sold.  It is unbelievable what people will buy.

We have Mariah here today.  She is such a cutie.

I must go  Have a great day.

So many cares and concerns.  Happy that Judy got to hear Norm's voice.  I will continue praying for all.

Marilyn ~ Congratulations on your marriage.  I pray you and Keith have a happy and fulfilling life together.

I got a phone call from Aaron last night and we are going out for lunch and maybe a movie...'Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian'.  It's adventure, comedy and fantasy and rated PG.  I can handle it...maybe.  Aaron is my g-nephew that is slow but works and is buying his own home.  He doesn't drive a car...just a scooter.  So I will be driving my car...not the other way around.  Me on a scooter?  Not a pretty picture!

Looks like a beautiful day here in Indiana.  Isn't to get too hot which is great for my lack of A/C.

I best move on and get dressed soon for my 'date' with Aaron!

I turned the computer on to check my mail so before shutting down I stopped by to say hello.

Some time ago Colin Moffet wrote a poem called Snowdrops of which I printed a copy, every spring we watch for them to surface and it was so nice to come across the poem for a reread. They are installing sewers etc the first stage and yes my little snowdrops were almost disturbed, they have not been lost.

A beautiful sunny day so far but I do expect that rain is to arrive later in the day.

Judy:  Good Luck with your gagage sale, I had one once but I do not think ever again too much work and bother for us.

Pat: Any more info about Norm & Judy or for that matter from Janet.

Last year we had great success with our garage sale.  This year not so much.  That is OK we had fun having Melaura here with Mariah..

Are there bulbs thih those snowdrops Ruth???  If so did you buy them in a store?  What store I would love to buy some.  They are so pretty.  Mum used to have little blue bells in her lawn.  Pat now has some in her front lawn.  They are spring flowers, and oh so pretty.

I had quite the experience on Friday.  We were driving down the road and a turkey vulture flew off from road kill.  They are massive birds.  Amazing how God created them with no head feathers.  That keeps the bacteria off their heads......Wouldn't you know it we left the camera at home!

Well I'm off for now

I just got back from walking the dogs. When Happy and I started up the last hill before tuning onto our street that big Great Pyrenees dog was running loose on our street, it is a good thing I saw her before she saw us. Happy and I came back down the hill as quickly as we could. I heard the lady calling "Luna, Luna" in a little voice, then I heard the man whistle and command the dog.

By that time we  were at the hill below the next door neighbor's house that is  full of trees and berry bushes,  So we blazed a trial  up the hill, with me stepping on the brambles so Happy could jump over them until we got into the neighbor's back yard. Good thing there is no fence there, anyway we are home now and I had to take Bebe for her walk the other way, turning west in front of our house instead of turning to the east uphill, I waited until I was sure they and gotten the dog back home before I took Bebe out.

Keith is going to cut a pathway up the hill later, he is mowing in front right now. It is too steep in back of our house, but he did cut steps going down that way when all the kids were still home, it is all grown over now and pretty far down.

Love Ya

WOW PAT I WISH I HAD YOUR CAMERA!!!!! i lay down for a couple of hours this afternoon, and when I got up I walked into the kitchen and looked out the window .  With a look of unbelief I asked the family " What is a horse doing in our field?"  No one believing me they looked outside and said i"It isn't a horse it is a MOOSE!"   What an experience.

I'm so sorry I've not been here in a few days. I'll surely be praying for both critical situations. May God be with us all.

It looks like God ins answering one of my prayers -- that God's infinite love and grace be experienced by an hispanic family I love dearly. I heard this afternoon they're not only attending a spanish speaking baptist church, but also some of the family are attending Bible study!

PRAISE HIS NAME!

I'm home .....  :D  I have the most wonderful, kind neighbors anyone could hope to have.  They met me at the Eugene airport this afternoon and then we went to HomeTown Buffet and filled our faces before heading home.  HOME!  What a beautiful word!

Saw you playing Chomper!

Yup, Pat ... I was using Joy's computer and she has broadband and everything is sooooo fast on that 'puter.  I usually don't even try the games because I'm still puddling along on dial-up.

Not to fear, however .... Ta DaaaaH .  My grandson Dave is in IT and he told me to bring my puter to him and he'd upgrade it to XP and help me get all modern ... How's that for a grandson?  Only have to make another trip to California someday to accomplish this.  That means I'll (1) have to find another car and (2) get up the nerve to make that drive again.   :-\  Y'know I can do it ... it'll just take a bit of time.

I have to keep an eye on the time.  I am driving to church today.  Beautiful day in Indiana.  Cool 59 degrees right now.

Aaron and I went to eat yesterday and then to a movie.  'Night at the Museum:  Battle at the Smithsonian.'  Neat movie.  Nice how they made all the exhibits come to life....even the painting.  We were in the IMAX theater so a huge, huge screen.  But I don't think it was worth $12.50 for a movie!!  What was I thinking???

Then Aaron came in the house and I was showing him YouTubes on the laptop.  He doesn't have a computer but he said he would like to get a laptop.  I think he could do that.  We will see.  I kind of had to push him out because it was getting late for me to wash my hair for today.  I wash it and let it air dry and wanted it dry before bedtime.

Today is Kaye Don's birthday....let's see.  I am 66...he was 7 years old when I was born so that is 73 but now he is having a birthday so he is 74 today.  Would have been easier to subtract 1935 from 2009... :idiot:

Hi everyone.  We are ready to leave for church on another beautiful day here in Georgia.  It will probably get pretty warm this afternoon and was warm all night last night.

I may have to stop sleeping between my fleece for awhile.  It is never cold and I really like it but have been getting pretty warm.

I am sure we will go out for lunch today and then have a quiet afternoon and evening.  I finished reading a really good book yesterday.  It is John Grisham's "The Testament".  It came out in 1999 but I don't think I had ever read it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday as we continue to pray for those in need such as Beth (Janet) and Norm and Judy and praise God for all his mavelous gifts and graces to us.

Good Morning everyone. Hope everyone is having a good sunday. We here in the north woke up to snow this morning. Sure glad I covered our plants in the garden last night before coming in or we would be replacing some of them for sure. That's the joys of living up here. When we have experiences like last night it makes it all worth while. We looked out our back window only to see a moose walking in our back field about 500 feet behind our house. We ran out and took some pictures and 2 of our cocker spaniels decided to give chase. Needless to say they didn't give the big beast to much concern. Reminded me of the story of David and Goliath. The small versus the big. Even our animal friends get an overinflated impression of themselves and their abilities. But it was entertaining to watch. Got to go for now. Will check in later and tomorrow I'm hit the trail again. Don't know yet where to, will find out in the morning. Blessings to all Bonesy

We had fun at church this morning.  Every three or four years the pastor has a special service on Pentecost Sunday.  This morning he started reading Acts 2 and suddenly after a few verses he switched to Finnish - which was the signal for identical Scripture passages to be read in Swedish, German, Spanish, Latvian and French all at the same time.  It was also announced by the Clerk of the Session that this past week the pastor celebrated the 35th anniversary of his ordination.

It's a pretty, sunny day here, although about 10 degrees below normal and the wind is really kicking up.  Plus we're under a frost advisory again tonight.  My computer has flickered several times with this wind so I may have to shut down soon.

Jeanne, our church did the same thing when the Scripture was read.  We had 8 or 9 different people reading it in different languages.

Another beautiful day on the island.  It is like a dream come true!

My daughter and I went to Duncan yest. to shop at Safeway and stopped in at Starbucks for a latte.  We noticed a beautiful little dog sitting on one of the outside tables.  When we left, the same dog was almost run over twice, as it has been allowed to roam in the busy parking lot.  Another woman helped us get it to a safe spot and the owner, a well dressed older man came up and did not seem the least bit concerned that the dog had nearly been killed.  I politely suggested that he keep the dog on a leash.  He then called me a dirty name, said I needed to be put on a leash and walked away.  This was a very expensive animal, owned by well educated and obviously wealthy folks.  What a world!!!

At home, visitors down the street let their lovely dog roam.  It deposited on the lawn, came into the back yard twice, then a third time came again and chased Misty up a tree and scared the rabbits. Wendy went over and asked them to keep it at home and out of our yard.  They were not impressed.  Neither was Wendy!

Etta Sue thanks for telling us about the Auslogics program.  I am going to order it this week as it works great.  Have tried others and this is by far the best.

Time to start dinner.  Cooked for the kids last night.  Tonight will eat leftovers.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

We were at the community church again - I did miss seeing the big red banner announcing Pentecost as it would be in the Lutheran church.  There are a few differences - but, wow - what a pastor.  I had to get up & walk out for a few minutes because of allergies & a cough but sipped some coffee and that helped.  Yes, using cough drops the entire service.

Another shooting at a church - the last time it was a pastor.  This is so sad.

I have a pork loin in the oven.  There is much too much for the two of us - come on over.
