JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

I turned the computer on to check my mail so before shutting down I stopped by to say hello.

Some time ago Colin Moffet wrote a poem called Snowdrops of which I printed a copy, every spring we watch for them to surface and it was so nice to come across the poem for a reread. They are installing sewers etc the first stage and yes my little snowdrops were almost disturbed, they have not been lost.

A beautiful sunny day so far but I do expect that rain is to arrive later in the day.

Judy:  Good Luck with your gagage sale, I had one once but I do not think ever again too much work and bother for us.

Pat: Any more info about Norm & Judy or for that matter from Janet.

Last year we had great success with our garage sale.  This year not so much.  That is OK we had fun having Melaura here with Mariah..

Are there bulbs thih those snowdrops Ruth???  If so did you buy them in a store?  What store I would love to buy some.  They are so pretty.  Mum used to have little blue bells in her lawn.  Pat now has some in her front lawn.  They are spring flowers, and oh so pretty.

I had quite the experience on Friday.  We were driving down the road and a turkey vulture flew off from road kill.  They are massive birds.  Amazing how God created them with no head feathers.  That keeps the bacteria off their heads......Wouldn't you know it we left the camera at home!

Well I'm off for now

I just got back from walking the dogs. When Happy and I started up the last hill before tuning onto our street that big Great Pyrenees dog was running loose on our street, it is a good thing I saw her before she saw us. Happy and I came back down the hill as quickly as we could. I heard the lady calling "Luna, Luna" in a little voice, then I heard the man whistle and command the dog.

By that time we  were at the hill below the next door neighbor's house that is  full of trees and berry bushes,  So we blazed a trial  up the hill, with me stepping on the brambles so Happy could jump over them until we got into the neighbor's back yard. Good thing there is no fence there, anyway we are home now and I had to take Bebe for her walk the other way, turning west in front of our house instead of turning to the east uphill, I waited until I was sure they and gotten the dog back home before I took Bebe out.

Keith is going to cut a pathway up the hill later, he is mowing in front right now. It is too steep in back of our house, but he did cut steps going down that way when all the kids were still home, it is all grown over now and pretty far down.

WOW PAT I WISH I HAD YOUR CAMERA!!!!! i lay down for a couple of hours this afternoon, and when I got up I walked into the kitchen and looked out the window .  With a look of unbelief I asked the family " What is a horse doing in our field?"  No one believing me they looked outside and said i"It isn't a horse it is a MOOSE!"   What an experience.

Just checking in to see if there's any word on Beth.

I'm praying for her, and for Janet, and also Judy and Norm.

Ruth Ann Bice

I'm so sorry I've not been here in a few days. I'll surely be praying for both critical situations. May God be with us all.

It looks like God ins answering one of my prayers -- that God's infinite love and grace be experienced by an hispanic family I love dearly. I heard this afternoon they're not only attending a spanish speaking baptist church, but also some of the family are attending Bible study!

I'm home .....  :D  I have the most wonderful, kind neighbors anyone could hope to have.  They met me at the Eugene airport this afternoon and then we went to HomeTown Buffet and filled our faces before heading home.  HOME!  What a beautiful word!

Saw you playing Chomper!

Yup, Pat ... I was using Joy's computer and she has broadband and everything is sooooo fast on that 'puter.  I usually don't even try the games because I'm still puddling along on dial-up.

Not to fear, however .... Ta DaaaaH .  My grandson Dave is in IT and he told me to bring my puter to him and he'd upgrade it to XP and help me get all modern ... How's that for a grandson?  Only have to make another trip to California someday to accomplish this.  That means I'll (1) have to find another car and (2) get up the nerve to make that drive again.   :-\  Y'know I can do it ... it'll just take a bit of time.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Welcome Home, Jane!

So glad you're home safe and sound.

I have to keep an eye on the time.  I am driving to church today.  Beautiful day in Indiana.  Cool 59 degrees right now.

Aaron and I went to eat yesterday and then to a movie.  'Night at the Museum:  Battle at the Smithsonian.'  Neat movie.  Nice how they made all the exhibits come to life....even the painting.  We were in the IMAX theater so a huge, huge screen.  But I don't think it was worth $12.50 for a movie!!  What was I thinking???

Then Aaron came in the house and I was showing him YouTubes on the laptop.  He doesn't have a computer but he said he would like to get a laptop.  I think he could do that.  We will see.  I kind of had to push him out because it was getting late for me to wash my hair for today.  I wash it and let it air dry and wanted it dry before bedtime.

Today is Kaye Don's birthday....let's see.  I am 66...he was 7 years old when I was born so that is 73 but now he is having a birthday so he is 74 today.  Would have been easier to subtract 1935 from 2009... :idiot:

Hi everyone.  We are ready to leave for church on another beautiful day here in Georgia.  It will probably get pretty warm this afternoon and was warm all night last night.

I may have to stop sleeping between my fleece for awhile.  It is never cold and I really like it but have been getting pretty warm.

I am sure we will go out for lunch today and then have a quiet afternoon and evening.  I finished reading a really good book yesterday.  It is John Grisham's "The Testament".  It came out in 1999 but I don't think I had ever read it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday as we continue to pray for those in need such as Beth (Janet) and Norm and Judy and praise God for all his mavelous gifts and graces to us.

Good Morning everyone. Hope everyone is having a good sunday. We here in the north woke up to snow this morning. Sure glad I covered our plants in the garden last night before coming in or we would be replacing some of them for sure. That's the joys of living up here. When we have experiences like last night it makes it all worth while. We looked out our back window only to see a moose walking in our back field about 500 feet behind our house. We ran out and took some pictures and 2 of our cocker spaniels decided to give chase. Needless to say they didn't give the big beast to much concern. Reminded me of the story of David and Goliath. The small versus the big. Even our animal friends get an overinflated impression of themselves and their abilities. But it was entertaining to watch. Got to go for now. Will check in later and tomorrow I'm hit the trail again. Don't know yet where to, will find out in the morning. Blessings to all Bonesy

We had fun at church this morning.  Every three or four years the pastor has a special service on Pentecost Sunday.  This morning he started reading Acts 2 and suddenly after a few verses he switched to Finnish - which was the signal for identical Scripture passages to be read in Swedish, German, Spanish, Latvian and French all at the same time.  It was also announced by the Clerk of the Session that this past week the pastor celebrated the 35th anniversary of his ordination.

It's a pretty, sunny day here, although about 10 degrees below normal and the wind is really kicking up.  Plus we're under a frost advisory again tonight.  My computer has flickered several times with this wind so I may have to shut down soon.

Jeanne, our church did the same thing when the Scripture was read.  We had 8 or 9 different people reading it in different languages.

Another beautiful day on the island.  It is like a dream come true!

My daughter and I went to Duncan yest. to shop at Safeway and stopped in at Starbucks for a latte.  We noticed a beautiful little dog sitting on one of the outside tables.  When we left, the same dog was almost run over twice, as it has been allowed to roam in the busy parking lot.  Another woman helped us get it to a safe spot and the owner, a well dressed older man came up and did not seem the least bit concerned that the dog had nearly been killed.  I politely suggested that he keep the dog on a leash.  He then called me a dirty name, said I needed to be put on a leash and walked away.  This was a very expensive animal, owned by well educated and obviously wealthy folks.  What a world!!!

At home, visitors down the street let their lovely dog roam.  It deposited on the lawn, came into the back yard twice, then a third time came again and chased Misty up a tree and scared the rabbits. Wendy went over and asked them to keep it at home and out of our yard.  They were not impressed.  Neither was Wendy!

Etta Sue thanks for telling us about the Auslogics program.  I am going to order it this week as it works great.  Have tried others and this is by far the best.

Time to start dinner.  Cooked for the kids last night.  Tonight will eat leftovers.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

We were at the community church again - I did miss seeing the big red banner announcing Pentecost as it would be in the Lutheran church.  There are a few differences - but, wow - what a pastor.  I had to get up & walk out for a few minutes because of allergies & a cough but sipped some coffee and that helped.  Yes, using cough drops the entire service.

Another shooting at a church - the last time it was a pastor.  This is so sad.

I have a pork loin in the oven.  There is much too much for the two of us - come on over.

Carol

Liz:  Good grief - you were concerned for the safety of the dog - how ugly people can be at times.

Pat

Hey Liz!  I love leftovers!  Wow!  Wonder how long it would take to drive out to get some!
