Morning Devotional..."I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20).
We should battle through our moods, feelings, and emotions into absolute devotion to the Lord Jesus. We must break out of our own little world of experience into abandoned devotion to Him. Think who the New Testament says Jesus Christ is, and then think of the despicable meagerness of the miserable faith we exhibit by saying, "I haven't had this experience or that experience"! Think what faith in Jesus Christ claims and provides—He can present us faultless before the throne of God, inexpressibly pure, absolutely righteous, and profoundly justified. Stand in absolute adoring faith "in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption ..." (1 Corinthians 1:30). How dare we talk of making a sacrifice for the Son of God! We are saved from hell and total destruction, and then we talk about making sacrifices!
We must continually focus and firmly place our faith in Jesus Christ—not a "prayer meeting" Jesus Christ, or a "book" Jesus Christ, but the New Testament Jesus Christ, who is God Incarnate, and who ought to strike us dead at His feet. Our faith must be in the One from whom our salvation springs. Jesus Christ wants our absolute, unrestrained devotion to Himself. We can never experience Jesus Christ, or selfishly bind Him in the confines of our own hearts. Our faith must be built on strong determined confidence in Him.
It is because of our trusting in experience that we see the steadfast impatience of the Holy Spirit against unbelief. All of our fears are sinful, and we create our own fears by refusing to nourish ourselves in our faith. How can anyone who is identified with Jesus Christ suffer from doubt or fear! Our lives should be an absolute hymn of praise resulting from perfect, irrepressible, triumphant belief.
My Utmost for His Highest~Oswald ChambersGot any rivers you think are uncrossable?
Got any mountains you can't tunnel thru?
God specializes in things thought impossible
He does the things others cannot do.
Got any problems you think are unsolvable?
Got any burdens too heavy to bear?
Got has the power to do the impossible;
If you will call He will hear your prayer.
That's a good piece of verse to wake up to - a little less challenging than Oswald Chambers !
Gord: the rain was SNOW last night - early and first of the winter here in middle England turned to rain in the early hours of this morning and cleaned itself away. Colin looks as though he's in for the long haul though in Ireland - might be a good time to invest in an ark over there.
Hi everyone. We are having a beautiful day today and it is suppose to get up to 70 degrees or so, as it did yesterday. At 12:30 we are meeting a group of friends at Red Lobster for our monthly birthday luncheon. I tried to find a fun card in the Hallmark Card program we have but find we have used all of the ones I like. Fortunately we found a suitable card that we had on hand.
Carol, it isn't that I am so busy but that I have reached a point where I don't want the responsibility for the church website. I also think it is time that our church has a nicer looking website than I am able to create using the basic tools I know.
Gord, my wife is holding in there. As long as she isn't on her feet too long or work too hard or too long she gets along pretty good or at least doesn't complain of the pain.
Wordsculptor and Colin, please send us some of tha excess rain as we really need it.
Pat, thanks for the devotional for the week.
Good Morning It looks to be a very nice day, the rain has stopped for now and yesterday stopped long enough for me to take both dogs out for their walks. Good prayer meeting last evening, several people prayed about the things they were thankful for and we always pray for revival.
I went to Curves as always; thought had gained back some of the weight because my eating habits have become lax again and I have been eating stuff I shouldn't. However I have only gain ½ lb. So that was a very nice surprise. I will go back to eating properly and leave the sweets alone. Sweets are my downfall especially now with the holidays coming up. (mmmmm Cheesecake)
I am doing a load of laundry this morning before I go to work and now I will go do up my dishes and clean the kitchen floor.

Hi Larry....that Keith is way behind time! I think I mentioned building an Ark last year! I hope Keith keeps the snow for awhile because we are in no hurry to have any. I am crocked with a bad back at the moment and just hirpling....hurpling along...help me out here Pat you used to be Ulster woman you. Funny we speak Ulster Scot but never learned to spell it. Odd!
Take care everyone! <3
Hi Everyone...
Must get my flu shot but must get over this flu first!
Had it all weekend but felt a little better yesterday so went to church but today my bed feels so nice!
I'm so enjoying going through Oswold Chambers each night. I have the devotionals on the computer in Word so that I can highlight, enlarge words, underline, etc. It's wonderful to do that and not just read in the book.
Hi Keith and Colin! Larry, I heard the other day that you've had such a drought.

Good afternoon. I was up early today and Ivalou and I left at 8am. Today she had a nuclear stress test, EKG, pictures taken of her heart...for the life of me, I can't remember what it is called. Then we went upstairs for her pro-time test. She told everyone how she feels...winded just walking across the room, tired, queasy...just not with it. Even let me drive again today. Finally the last nurse was the nurse for the Dr that prescribed the beta blocker that Ivalou thinks is causing her symptoms. The nurse thinks the dosage is too high. So she talks to the Dr she is to call Ivalou at home to tell her what to do. We just got home at 2:30pm....and we didn't even go out to eat!! :o :o That's a first for Ivalou and I.
That's about it today. Still CARless! <_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_>

Hi Pat!!
Hi Pat! I had a note back from Bernice and she says she will probably check out this site. Sure do hope so. Take care - I am so sorry that you caught the flu.
Etta Sue: Hello & sending a hug to you.
Carol
ES I have learned my lesson! I will wear my glasses EVERY time I come to the computer. Only one letter and the whole meaning of the post changed.
This has been a lazy day. I went back to bed this morning after lighting the fire as I was really cold. Usually being cold like that is a sign that I am over tired. I slept till late and that was far too long. Sure felt good to sleep in though.
Well It is late and I am off. Good book to read, warm bed and a quiet radio program. Iwill nod off in no time.
Night all
JudyB
Pat: no-one told the weathermen about a drought - all they've dished up this year has been rain and floods. We should start an import/export company with our abundance of rainwater. 2nd thoughts that'd be a bad idea - if we have two consequetive days of sun they issue a hosepipe ban here !
Today is one of those messy grey mist days where everything loooks mucky and the cold gets inside your head - winter approaches with dirty boots on.
Hi everyone. Another beautiful day but probably the last warm one for now. Yesterday it got up to at least 79 degrees. I think it will be in the mid-70s again today. There is rain in the forecast a couple of days this week. Lake Lanier has now reached its lowest point since it became a lake. We have a serious problem with water shortage and it get worse every day. Unfortunately the Corps of Engineers is draining the lake everyday and sending the available water down stream.
I have a pretty quiet day. I will attend a meeting this morning but nothing else on the schedule for today. Pat has gone to her quilting guild meeting today and then she and her friend usually go out to lunch following the meeting.
Etta Sue, I expect Ivalou had an echo cardigram done. If she has just started on the beta blocker it is certainly suspicious that it may be contributing to her problem. Sure hope she gets to feeling better soon.
Pat, sorry to hear that you have the flu. Not fun.

You are right, Larry! That's the test that Ivalou had. And the nurse called yesterday and told her to take half a pill in the morning and half a pill at night. I called Ivalou this morning. She hadn't been sleeping well either. But she went to sleep on the couch and went to bed at 9:30pm. But she woke at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep. She didn't take any beta blocker last night but she took her half a pill this morning. She sounded sooooo much better. And I know when I saw how she was being after the diagnosis she has had, I was worried that there was a blockage or that she could have had a stroke. Then I remembered the signs of a stroke and she didn't have any of them. But she is already planning to get a perm this morning so I know she is better. Thank you, God! I love my sister more than my own life.
I have big visions for today. I plan to get the leaves out of my river rocks with a rake and leaf blower, cover my a/c, put up all my yard ornaments in my river rocks and 'mow' my leaves. That should be it for winter. I can put my mower asleep until spring!!
And I am hoping that I get a call to go get my car. Ivalou said she can do that this afternoon and Kitty said she could also!! But for now, I am still CARless!! <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo>

I'm here just sitting over there in the corner having a great prayer meeting with Jane, Nita, Liz and Jeannine. Sorry to hear you have the flu Pat. Will add you to the prayer list.
Very cold this morning, wearing the winter tights under my jeans. Ice on the front porch had to walk very carefully going out to Curves the again coming back in the house.
Nice link, Marilyn.
Thank you Pat. Are you feeling any better?
Pat: How are you feeling today?
Marilyn: Nice Link
It has been a lovely day so I will enjoy all of it. I went to Giant Tiger on Monday and then again today I went to another looking for more (table runners specific color) of the items could not find them so it must be a popular Christmas thing this year.
Larry and the rest I do enjoy reading what keeps you busy.
Ruth
Etta Sue - so glad to hear that your sister is feeling better. Hard to get by without our sisters. :'( Luckily, I have a spare, but she lives far away, but she is still here!
Marilyn, thanks for the link. I really enjoyed that.
Pat, hope you get to feeling better real quick!
Larry, this warm weather has been nice, but makes it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is this week.
Church is still getting better and better each time we go. God is restoring all the devil stole from us and I am so thankful!
If I left someone out, I'm sorry.
Have a great evening everyone.

Hi Ruth!
Samatha God is so good he always answers our prayers. Sometimes we just have to wait on God's timing.
Thanks for asking how I am. Guess this has been a virus that's going around here. But the Lord puts us on our back and then we only have one way to look and that's UP!! to Him and to that Cross of Calvary!

Are you having visions of turkey, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie? It's almost here.
Ivalou is still feeling winded. She said she has called the doctor's office and waiting for a return call. Said she shouldn't be winded just walking from one end of her kitchen to the other end....huffing and puffing. I don't think so either. The medication she was on first didn't cause that.
Sad news for Kitty. She told me her Munchie cat died yesterday. She heard a cat crying that sounded like it was in pain yesterday morning. Sounded like it was outside so she went on the back patio and looked, nothing. Her husband came home at noon and found Munch dead in the basement. I am wondering if he got into some poison somewhere. He roamed during the day. That's two cats in the last few months to go to Rainbow Heaven. She still has Gwinn, a calico cat.
Going to the Dollar General in a few minutes to get some items for Ivalou and I.
Oh, yeah! I am not CARless anymore. They didn't find anything wrong with it. But my brother did purchase a Quick Start for me to carry in my trunk. If your car doesn't start, you put the clamps on the battery, turn on the quick start, start the engine, turn off the quick start and remove the clamps. No charging your battery...quick start. Just like jumping the battery from car to car! And the quick start is no bigger than a purse!! (*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*

FARTHER ALONG (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/fartheralong.mid)
(Click to hear music)
W. B. Stevens
Tempted and tried we're oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all the day long.
While there are others living about us,
Never molested though in the wrong.
Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.
When death has come and taken our loved ones,
It leaves our home so lonely and drear;
Then do we wonder why others prosper,
Living so wicked year after year.
Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.
Faithful till death said our loving Master.
A few more days to labor and wait;
Toils of the road will then seem as nothing
As we sweep through the beautiful gate.
Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.
When we see Jesus coming in glory,
When He comes from His home in the sky;
Then we shall meet Him in that bright mansion
We'll understand it all by and by.
Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.

Well I guess I'll just have to post now, there have not been many here today.
I have made my beautiful fruit salad for tomorrows contribution to Thanksgiving dinner. It has Apples, Walnuts, Mandarin Oranges, Pineapple, Strawberries, Coconut and a dressing of Strawberry Cool Whip and Sour Cream mixed together.
Nothing else new here.

He Looked Beyond My Fault (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/myfault.mid)
Lyrics by Dottie Rambo
(to the tune of "Londonderry Aire")
Galatians 5:1
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."
Amazing Grace, shall always be my song of praise.
For it was grace that brought me liberty,
I do not know, just why He came to love me so.
He looked beyond my fault and saw my need.
I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary,
To view the cross, where Jesus died for me
How marvelous, His grace that caught my falling soul
He Looked beyond my fault and saw my need.

Well here we are almost to the day proclaimed as a day of thanksgiving. So very many things for which to give thanks! We've gone several times in the past few years to the house of one of the church families, and we'll be going there tomorrow. They promised to have a large, dead bird on the table. so we'll see if we can help them with that.
HELLO!!!
i hope you all have a great and wonderful thanksgiving i am still around i have been BUSY busy busy... and the weather has changed so i hurt like always anyways have a great day !
Sarah
Well hello Sarah.long time to see. Sorry to hear the weather makes you hurt. You are too young to be hurting when the weather changes.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
This has been a quiet day, got a lot done. ES you are no longet CARless, and now I am. The muffler has become defunct and all plans are off for the weekend. :ticked: :( :'( I was really looking forward to getting away.
The weather iws quite cold, with a skiff of snow on the ground. Looks like it might stay. Oh well it is that time of year.
Have a good night everyone and a very peaceful day tomorrow.
Sarah: Sorry to read that you have pain when the weather changes and cools so quickly. Marilyn is right - you are too young to have a pain in the winter.
Speaking of winter - it is here. Such a shock as we have been 20 degrees above normal for such a long time and now it is right about freezing and below. Suddenly, there is snow and heavy coats & gloves. I drove to the gym this morning to work off calories that will come tomorrow for sure - I made two dishes, pecan bars and walnut bars. The turkey and stuffing will begin early in the morning - my stuffing goes into a crockpot. When all that is over, I will clean the floor again as for sure I will drop something and this wood floor shows every little thing.
Pat: It is good to see you posting so I assume you are feeling better. Now, don't get a relapse as that always feels worse. Take care.
Called a cousin in Seattle and she is usally difficult to talk with because life revolves only around her and the family but I feel so badly as an adopted granddaughter has just run away once again. What fright it is for everyone.
Marilyn: I will check and see if you have posted your fruit salad.
JudyB: Oh, no -
Son just called and their hot water heater went out - he was able to install one - $400 is the price now. And, wouldn't you know it- he is the one looking for work.
Carol
All this talk about turkeys and stuffing reminded me that a few years back I went to a concert by 'George Hamilton IV' (the country singer) where all the songs/stories he told were based on the harvest/thanksgiving theme. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!
<3 HAVE A BLESSED THANKSGIVING! <3
Hi Everyone!
We have so many things to be thankful for
For family, friends, blessings too
But there is One blessing more
Jesus who came for me and you
May God bless one and all this day whether or not you celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I think everyday is Thanksgiving and we just eat special food this day. God bless and have a wonderful day! ><>Jeannine

I am so thankful for all my cyber friends across the world. Thank you, friends!
Ivalou got a call from the doctor's nurse. They took her off the medication that she was taking and put her back on the original, Toprol. But now she is to take a half a pill two times a day. I sure hope she is back to being Ivalou soon. When she hurts, I hurt.
And it is soo good to see Sarah posting today! Sorry about the weather-related pain. Maybe that's why my back hurts today. Probably not....still sore from raking and working in the yard.
And remember Jerry? He would be 70 years old today! I sure miss him.
Well, yesterday I fixed two Green Tomato Pies. What wonderful smell in my house. And I will have to brag.... ::)..., they look just like the pies that Mom used to make. So I just know they will taste as good also!!
Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving....even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Give thanks for all He does for You!!~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^

Marilyn I have put that recipe into my book! Sounds really good.
hello all gotta a few days off for the break (from school and work) it is one of the two days that pizza hut actually shuts completely down not due to a diaster or something beyond our control (power outage) the other is christmas. anyways i hope everyone is having a good day i still hurt but not as bad today it warmed up to 34 so far and its supposed to snow tonight.... i am not so excited about that anywyas i must be off to explore things with the family i think i'll run around with the under 5 year old crowd today they are usually more interesting than my over 20 year old crowd that is majority of my family anyways HAVE A GOOD DAY!
Sarah
Glad you will enjoy the recipe Judy.
Hi Sarah
Nothing new here yet today. I have been sort of busy from time to time. i vacuumed and then cleaned the floor in the kitchen, read the paper, posted in several paces on SN. Put a few curlers in my hiar and put on a little bit of makeup. Been in and out of here a few times reading and looking at photos.
TTYL
We have finished a BIG job. Sorting boxes and decluttering a stash. Now to make it "beautiful" as flylady says.
John is heading north and will be home in time for dinner. He has to leave again to deliver his trailer load in the morning, but that still shapes up to be a good weekend home for him.
Well back running to clean through my main level and then I will be done for this week.
Well I am going to be leaving pretty soon to go to Eureka,
Sarah I can sympathize with your pain today. I am having a lot of it myself in my left hand. I think I may have to finally tell my Dr. about it and get xrays done to se what the problem is. I do know I have a bone spur in the main thumb joint. But I am also having pain in all my knuckles and just below th knuckles. Arthritis? maybe?
Beautiful day here 55° sunshine. Dogs haven't been on their walks yet and probably won't get one today, I should have already taken them, too late now.
I pray you have all have a wonderful day with your family here in the USA. Lots of food and lots of things to be thankful for.
Brrr! It is cold here today and the ground is covered with frost. Hope it doesn't rain or it will be covered with ice.... and ice hurts more than rain :'(
Taking a little break waiting for the floors to dry, then have to go and clean both litter boxes. Behind in my work due to not being well. Guess it is going to be one of those winters!! The kids went to Victoria with Amanda and I chose to stay home. They have lots of errands and then a visit to the Art School that A is interested in attending. Hope all works out okay. It is a new school and they are having an open house.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. So much to be grateful for....God has been good to all of us, despite our many worries and problems. They seem tiny compared to what is happening around the world. I pray for all the needs here on CP and trust God to take care of each and every one of us.....
Here is a little something that made me smile:
We have two ears to one mouth
So that we can listen
twice as much as we speak!
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
Liz
Hi everyone. I have been very busy the last couple of days and haven't had a chance to post. Yesterday was Bible study in the morning with the pastor and then I went downtown and picked up our daughter to bring here for the weekend. Unfortunately she is suffering a lot with a bad back and hasn't been able to work for several days. She was hurt at work. I brought her out to see the chiropractor again but that didn't seem to help very much. I then attended a joint Thanksgiving service that our church participates in with 5 other churches and enjoyed being a part of the choir.
Today was very special as we went back to Augusta and had a wonderful Thanksgiving day with our son and his wife and our granddaughter's family. I got many hugs and kisses from the three little great grandchildren and spent most of the day sitting in the backyard with them as they played and vied for my attention. We got back home about 90 minutes ago and I am beat as it is about 5 hours of driving in total. Our daughter-in-law and son had fixed a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and Pat took 4 pies as different ones had been requested. There was so much food left over that I think we could have fed another 10 or 12 people. Anyway it was a wonderful day and we are now anticipating Christmas. This is such a gift from God as just a few months ago I couldn't even envision this day ever happening.
I have arrived to say hello to all.
Happy Thanksgiving to our southern friends
Today we had our first major snow storm of the season, Hwy 400 has been closed almost all day due to conditiions and serious accidents. We got an early morning call cancelling school buses due to the storm , a good thing with this is that I have managed to get a lot of jobs done and now I have another to tackle before shutting down.
Ruth
Checking in ... from the corner. ;)
It's been a quiet day here -- just the kind I like.
I watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on TV (All of it!) Then, at noon-thirty, I watched the traditional video of scenes all around Oregon, titled "Hasn't God Been Good to Oregon" ... then the movie "Miracle on 34th Street" ... then I ate :D
A couple weeks ago I bought two boxes of "all natural" soup. Well, I mixed them together today and enjoyed the best soup I think I've had in a very long time. One was "Buttery Corn" and the other was "Ginger, Cashew, Carrot" Now I wish I'd bought more than just one box of each! ??? I fixed a Chicken Club Panini to go with the soup and enjoyed the feast all by myself.
My daughter Joy called me yesterday. She and John are going to be with his folks at their cabin today -- maybe all weekend. I haven't heard from Dot but I know she is having a good Thanksgiving as well.
Larry I know how thrilled you are, even though tired, to be with the family again. What a wonderful THANKS-GIVING you must have had. ;)
There are many others I would love to respond to but .... gotta go take the pizza out of the oven! :D
Hi, friends,
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and a big thankful sigh from me that I'm going to have a bit of time this weekend to catch up on my reading and try to respond.
I've told the folk at work that I'll be retiring very close to the end of 2008. Ahhh, maybe I'll have time to be with those I love more, including Christian Photographers.
One week ago, I worked 56 hours with most of that compressed from Wednesday through Friday at 3:30 pm. So, this ole gal is 'bout ready to rest for awhile.
Much love to each one of us.

Precious memories, unseen angels,
Sent from somewhere to my soul;
How they linger, ever near me,
And the sacred past unfold.
Chorus
Precious memories, how they linger,
How they ever flood my soul;
In the still ness of the midnight,
Precous, sacred scenes unfold.
Precious father, loving mother,
Fly across the lonely years;
And old homescenes of my childhood,
In fond memory appears.
In the stillness of the midnight,
Echoes from the past I hear;
Old time singing, gladness bringing,
From that lovely land somewhere.
As I travel on life's pathway,
Know not what the years may hold;
As I ponder, hope grows fonder,
Precious memories flood my soul.

Pat: Thanks for the "precious memories" song. We will have memories of yesterday. Half our family came and one son is staying overnight to help us move furniture & such. He is searching for work & there is a possibility in the next two weeks - am praying.
Marilyn: Thank you - any food you fix always is very good & this fruit salad looks yummy.
Wordsculptor: I haven't always commented on your posts but never fear, I do not ignore you. It is always nice to read your posts. Thank you.
Jeannine: TY for your poetry - of love and caring.
Etta Sue: I sure do remember Jerry. What a great sense of humor he gave us.
Larry: Such a fine day for you and now it will be so at Christmas time. So sorry about your daughter being hurt. I am sorry that she has such a struggle. Blessings to you.
Carol
Carol - it is indeed great to have a son staying to move the furniture around. We have four sons, but I don't remember them every coming at precisely the right time to move furniture around! Oh well, we thank our God for them anyway!
Jane - I'm not so concerned about you eating alone, but I am concerned that you didn't send some of that soup and that panini down here! (although, be it understood, we ate & ate & ate at our friends' house, and the fellowship was terrific.
Ruth Ann - I pray you will indeed be able to retire when planned. I'm not at all sure, though, that it will be nothing but easy for you - you've been such a worker for such a long and productive time - how will you quit! Seek the Lord's direction for your LAR (life after retirement).
I had a wonderfu time with at my DIL's parents house. Lots of good food and fellowship, it was good to see everyone again. Willa's family reunion was over by the time I got back to Mckinleyville so I didn't stop there.
Jane that soup sounds so good. Sorry you had to spend the day alone but it sounds like you made it enjoyable all by yourself. I have done that before I moved up here to McKineyville from the desert.
Thank you Carrol the Fruit salad is delish, It was very much enjoyed especally by my DIL's father, the grands and myself. Not everyone ate some. I only had small slices of Cheese cake and Walnut pie. I did good on the desserts.
I will be going to work for an hour or so in a couple of hours then I am going to Longs Drugs to buy a Plush animal for my Grand Daughter they are 50% off today.
TTYL
Just a quick check in today. I rested well last night but still am really dragging today. Shortly I will eat lunch and then take a nap and hope that I feel more rested after that. Pat and our daughter are also feeling the effects of the day we had yesterday. We only had 7 men a coffee this morning and I just got back from a quick trip to the grocery store for a few items. I couldn't get past the shrimp counter so we will be having shrimp this evening. They had some on sale for $4.99/ lb and I ordered that but they didn't have enough so the meat manager gave me the $6.99 larger shrimp for the lower price.
Ruth Ann, I know you will look forward to retirement and not having to work those really long weeks.
It sounds like you all had an enjoyable day yesterday. Jane your dinner sounds mighty good as do the others described. Marilyn, glad you had a nice time with your DIL's family.
Ruth, sure glad you didn't get caught out in a snow storm. We have gone from temperauares in the 70s yesterday to the lower 30s last night. It is warming up some today.
Al, nice that your friends had you over. Those can be such special times.
Carol, I will sure be pulling for your son to get the job. I know that is very stressful for him and for you all as well.
Time for a bite of lunch.

Well, the Christmas season is officially open now. No Black Friday shopping for me. Been there. Done that. No more!
I am hoping that everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and that you didn't eat too much or have too many leftovers! There were 26 at Ivalou's for dinner...and everyone had a place to sit and eat with a table in front of them. I think one of these years, Ivalou may have to rent a building somewhere! Her house was huffing and puffing at the seams!! Everyone is getting bigger!!
My Fall/Thanksgiving items are put away and now it is time to decide what to put out for Christmas. Not much. That way I don't have much to put away after Christmas....
We had some snow flurries yesterday but no accumulation. It is cold today...below freezing but I don't plan on going outside until time to get the mail and the paper. Kaye Don and Barb says enough of this cold...they are leaving for Florida today or tomorrow! Her tests showed nothing wrong so they are free to leave now.
Also Ivalou got a call from the doctor's nurse and her meds were changed back to Topril (sp). She said within minutes of changing back, she felt much, much better!!{{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}}

It's lovely to read about all of your Thanksgiving celebrations.
My friend in Virginia had a lovely time with friends as well and is now on Route 95 headed south to Florida to visit friends and family! :) How lovely to be able to visit Florida when we're having freezing rain here.
Judy, I'm sure sorry you aren't going to be here for the weekend. Had lots planned! (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fcleaning%2F2.gif&hash=8d49a3d640b019064c899e6d6c39889d45263712) out in the garage! Have to make room for Ian's locker contents to be brought to.
I did go shopping at Longs today all of 30 minutes. I bought a plush dog for Savannah and a huge plush football pillow for Forest, two Healing Gardens bath sets at two for the price of one, two bottles of Cholest-off for me at two for the price of one, total spent $57.70 I took the dogs for their walks and stopped at Willa's house and ate 3 small pieces of 3 different kinds of cheesecake. I've just been relaxing this afternoon as I do every afternoon, some TV, some computer etc. How was your day?
How was my day? Well, I stayed AWAY from the stores except for the collection boxes in the parking lot. ;)
I got into sorting the many, many books in my house and took a few bags of books and other things to Goodwill, and dropped magazines and paper at Wal-Mart's parking lot and cardboard at the collection bin in another parking lot ... I also cleaned up (some of) the dead plants from my yard and chopped wood for the fire this evening .... Now, I'm done for today. May get back out there again tomorrow, but am making no promises.
The landlord of this mobile home park is proposing "amendments and additions" to the Park Rules .... Clamping down on what little bit of freedom we had. I hope I have the health and strength to keep up with the new requirements regarding yards and exterior of the homes. I have no way to either power wash or paint the outside of my place ... hope they don't decide to evict me. ::) :-[ :-\
We went over to my sister-in laws place for Thanksgiving. there were about 20 people there, with several people we didn't know from their church. We had lots of food, and it was different to have non family members present. I even got to play a few hands of Euchre which is something I have not done for a long time.( P.S. we lost.)
Jane, I can't imagine that they would evict you. My goodness though, powerwash the outside of the house?
Smokey, great that you had a good time as well with your family and friends.
Hi everyone. After a long nap yesterday afternoon and a good nights sleep last night I once again feel a bit energetic. I watched an exciting football game where the team ranked number one (LSU) lost in triple overtime to Arkansas. It was an interesting game.
Today is the big Georgia Tech/Georgia annual game. Georgia has won the last 6 times they have played and the Georgia Tech coach may have his job on the line if his team doesn't win today. I think there are some other good games on TV also. So I will be enjoying the afternoon and evening in my easy chair.
It has turned cold here as I mentioned yesterday. They are predicting some more rain tonight and tomorrow and it will certainly be welcome. I am sure thankful to be home this weekend and not have to face the traveling crowds. I also am not going to face the crowds in the stores.
About time for coffee this morning. My good friend forgot that yesterday was the day of the week we meet a the senior center and went to the cafe and couldn't understand why none of the rest of us were there. I am sure there will be a few gentle reminders in the future.
:cup:
Jane: I was just thinking about your having to have the place power washed and painted and if a group of you would go in together at the same time, perhaps you could negotiate a better price. There has to be an answer for you - maybe the teens at church or even another larger church?
Larry: I have missed events too because of forgetting the day of the week - cannot believe it sometimes. Being with the family on a Thursday just threw me off yesterday. ::) Bet you were tired after that reunion on Thanksgiving. I was so tired and it was all from visiting.
Al: We wish the children would drive this way more often and it is super when they come. They always have such complaints about the freeway up here and sure enough, there were 4 crashes so I had cell phone calls that two of their cars were parked on the road. It is a terrible & fast road with speed limit of 75 mph and you cannot go that slow. That will be the reason we will move closer to Denver.
SmokeytheDog: Hello - you mentioned Euchre and Etta Sue plays that game - I bet that she is really good. Why is Smokey a heel nipper, a cattle dog?
Carol
Pat most of the Mobile home parks require that the homes are kept clean, power washing is the quickest way but sometimes it also removes some of the paint. When I worked for Fay she paid a man $100. to hand scrub the outside of her little 55 foot 1 bedroom trailer. He had to get on a ladder and scrub with a brush from the roof down to the ground. The parks have to keep up the appearances and cleanliness to avoid citations from the county and the state. So lets pray that God will send someone to Jane to clean her mobile home. The wet weather here cause mold, and mildew to grow on anything outside. Bill across the street gets green growth on his white truck if he does't wash it often.
I was awake at 3:30 this morning so I got up at 4:20, fed the dogs, read my Bible and prayed. I got three new devotion books and a new NKJV study Bible in the mail yesterday that I had ordered from Crossings book club. Today I am going to curves because they weren't open yesterday and I don't want to go 4 whole days without exercising, then I will walk the dogs, shower and shampoo my hair, read some more and relax.
Hi Carol you posted while I was typing.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ECP%2FCP%2520Christmas%2FCatinTreeGreetings.gif&hash=99f8789bc7d49bd7a061938ad330c6cc4f36746e)
Last evening while watching TV two firetrucks went by my house. Very unusual that they use my road. I looked out my windows and finally spotted a fire southwest of me. Even looked on Google Earth and was hopping it wasn't Betty's house who goes with us to Beef and Boards or her son's house a few feet from Betty. The fire was on my mind when I got up. So I dressed and got in the car. The fire was over a mile farther than either of the houses. When I went past, it was a barn burning with those big round hay bales still smoldering. But when I talked to Ivalou she said it was a mobile home...I didn't see any signs of that. And Kitty said she heard it was a mobile home. All I know is there were at least 8 round bales smoldering in a barn.
Fires are so devastating but multiplied when it is near the Christmas season.
Not much going on today. Kaye Don and Barb left near 9am this morning. Didn't call me but called Ivalou. Again Barb left stuff in the fridge and now Ivalou has to go over and check out what needs to be taken out of the fridge so it won't spoil. Barb does this every time they leave for Florida or any long vacation. She lets Ivalou clean it for her!! Nothing was said about putting out trash next Monday morning.
Cold in Indiana. Brrrr! Partly sunny but cold. tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2FSfgt.gif&hash=d8a8c7556ca654fb9b844b122ddc7c8eadb07a93)
Cold here today too Etta Sue. I see on the news where the fires are burning again down in Malibu, those Santa Ana winds again.
I hve been to Curves this morning, I sure felt like needed to go 4 days without exercise would be too much, however I didn't gain and or lose any over Thanksgiving. thank you Jesus.
I downloaded Photo story 3 from Microsoft Downloads and made a great video this morning, so much easier than Movie Maker which I never did use anyway. So I made a video of a few photos of Happy and Bebe and posted it in my blog which is a smaller version of the one on photobucket and might be easier for those with dial up to view (Jane, Al, JudyB). The one on photobucket is Here (http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/dd222/tudogmom/?action=view¤t=071124dogs1.flv). It is so fun to make them.
I had a post but clicked the wrong button and all is gone Marilyn thanks for sharing your Photo Stroy it looks simple perhaps when I have time to waste I will give it a try.
Now I will go for my cup of :coffee:
Make it a great afternoon. Ruth
It's just too cold to do anything outside today... :-\ I will have to go bring some wood in pretty soon, but anything else will just have to wait.
Marilyn, I like the video you made of your canine kids ... It's just one more thing I won't be doing for myself, however. I don't have a digital camera nor anything to take pictures of, for one thing. Another is that I have dial-up. Another is that I just have no interest in having a blog or posting photos on the internet. Not any more. I sure like looking at everyone else's, though! ;)
Do you enjoy Christmas music
at this time of year?
We can't get it on our radios anymore since it's "politically incorrect" BAH!!!
But we can get it on our computers and I have it playing all the time I'm at this computer!
Here's a link:
REJOICE RADIO (http://www.rejoice.org/)
...I'm listening as I type, "Go tell it on the mountain"
Oh, now it's "I wonder as I wonder..."
I'll put a link down on the left with the other links.
There, done it!
Over on the left in the Links area, you'll see "REJOICE RADIO" and I leave it on the whole time I'm at the computer. The other night, I couldn't sleep and so I got up and came down to the computer (which I hardly ever turn off) and there were some wonderful hymns playing in my computer room!
What a great station it is. It's from Pensacola, FL I click on the Windows Media link and it opens a little player that is hidden behind all of my other things that are open.

Luke 2:7
Words: Verses 1 & 2, anonymous, in Little Children?s Book for Schools and Families, by J. C. File (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Evangelical Lutheran Church in North America, 1885). Some sources show the author as Martin Luther; this attribution (probably incorrect) is based on the title "Luther's Cradle Hymn," given to these words by the composer, James Murray, in his Dainty Songs for Little Lads and Lasses (Cincinnati, Ohio: The John Church Co., 1887). Verse 3 is by John Thomas McFarland (1851-1913)
Music: "Mueller," James R. Murray, 1887
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle til morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there.

SmokeytheDog: Hello - you mentioned Euchre and Etta Sue plays that game - I bet that she is really good. Why is Smokey a heel nipper, a cattle dog?
Carol
Yes heel nipping is what he does, although maybe I should change it to ankle biter. When he wants to play when I am walking around the house he starts growling and goes for the ankles. It's hard wakling (or running!) with a 40 pound dog around your ankles. He's part Shelty and Corgi, both of which have been used for hearding.
I'm up! And, very grateful and thankful that I am up - we are going to the early service and then there is a Servant Builder's meeting - it used to be called Mission Task Force which I thought was just fine. But - the head pastor wants us to be known as servants so that is fine also. Whatever - we will be planning more for next year. So far, I know that Don and I cannot go to Nicaragua or the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation as they are in July and there is no way we can handle the heat. Did I mention that the temps daily in South Dakota were up to 105 degrees - plus the fact that they have had so much help & some group has been going for ten years. I am hoping that they think about helping close neighbors - close states when there is a tornado or flood.
Marilyn: The black and white dog looks very similar to one of our favorite dogs - , he came to our house in the country and followed the kids - Husky, N. Elkhound - he was a faithful dog but he would take off once in a great while when he needed solitude then come back - Spike. Great job! I lost a pound after Thanksgiving - have not touched much of the leftovers and boy, it is hard to pass it up.
SmokeytheDog: That is a long name, may I call you Smokey? Can you spray a little water every time he nips your heels? ouch ouch ouch
Very little snow in our mountains. Our oldest son has now bought a house and is selling his cabin. This will be easier to drive in and they intend to retire someday and spend summers in their place in Montana/ Well, we were barely thinking of retirement at this point in our lives after raising four children. These kids are company executives and have one child - lovingly parents to be sure but they live a different life than we ever did - at least I was never at their work level. Anyway, there is a bedroom for us to use so that will be exciting when we go to visit. You never know - what is that saying? "Man proposes, God disposes".
Nope, I must get ready and really hope that I don't cough like last Sunday. 6 weeks of coughing - it isn't all the time but just sneaks up on me.
Those fires in Malibu look so frightening. All of those fires will raise our home insurance all over the country.
Carol
Hi everyone. It was another busy day yesterday as our daughter decided she wanted to go home so we did that after stopping at the grocery store so she would have food and so we could help her get it into her apartment since her back is in really bad shape now. We enjoyed her visit but it is always nice to have our home back to normal. I watched Georgia beat Georgia Tech yesterday afternoon and then tried to watch Missouri beat Kansas but fell asleep through most of the game. I feel much more rested this morning.
We will be going to church in about an hour and then will eat out. Nothing else on the schedule for today.
Carol, we just never know what our children are going to do. I agree with you about not trying to do the mission work in such hot weather. We still have mission teams going from our church to Mississippi to help with hurricane rebuilding and a team we send every year to central America.
Smokeythedog, it sounds like your dog is trying to herd you since he doesn't have anything else to herd.
Pat, thanks for the Christmas music link and posting the first Christmas music to be enjoyed here on CP.
Jane, it is also cold here in Georiga. I just checked and it said it was 38 degrees and only to get into the 50s today. Stay in and stay warm.
Hi Ruth. I lost a posting the other day for the first time in a long time. Just happened to hit some key, don't even know which one that wiped out the message I had typed.
Marilyn, glad you didn't gain weight this week and have been able to return to Curves. I see those lplaces all around the Atlanta area, including here in our area.
Etta Sue, perhaps if Ivalou left the stuff in the refrigerator your sister-in-law would get the message that certain things are her responsibility. I never heard of someone expecting someone else to do that except in an emergency.
Hope everyone has a great day. I plan on enjoying this day that God has allowed me to have and am grateful for it.
Glad you enjoyed that, Larry. The radio station is fantastic!
And here's some great piano playing for you all and great words as well.

There's a Song in the Air (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christmas/songair.mid)

She gave birth to her firstborn, a son.

Luke 2:7
Words: Josiah G. Holland, The Marble Prophecy and Other Poems, 1872
Music: Christmas Song, Karl P. Harrington, 1904
There's a song in the air! There's a star in the sky!
There's a mother's deep prayer and a baby's low cry!
And the star rains its fire while the beautiful sing,
For the manger of Bethlehem cradles a King!
There's a tumult of joy o'er the wonderful birth,
For the virgin's sweet Boy is the Lord of the earth.
Ay! the star rains its fire while the beautiful sing,
For the manger of Bethlehem cradles a King!
In the light of that star lie the ages impearled;
And that song from afar has swept over the world.
Every hearth is aflame, and the beautiful sing
In the homes of the nations that Jesus is King!
We rejoice in the light, and we echo the song
That comes down through the night from the heavenly throng.
Ay! we shout to the lovely evangel they bring,
And we greet in His cradle our Savior and King!

Good Morning I won't stay long as my wrist is bothering me some, mostly when using the mouse for any length of time. It isn't carpal tunnel I have a cyst or fatty tumor under the wrist bone that has come up in the last couple of month since my last Dr apt. I will be seeing the Dr in DEC. after my blood draw. I have been making another video this morning that I posted on SN.
Well brothers and sisters it is time for me to get ready for church.

Yes, I do play Euchre but I am not that good at it...I get Euchred! It is a midwest card game. Out west, eat and south, they say, Euchre? What's that?
Church was great today. Miss my church. I went with Ivalou last week when I was CARless! Then I had Taco Bell and came home.
I did get my plastic red bows out of the garage and they are on the spindles on my deck now. Not in the mood to do any other decorating today. What I am in the mood for is........ZZZZzzzz! "++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++"
