Morning Devotional...

Scripture: Acts 20:32
"And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself." NLT

The story is told of a young girl who left work early so she could have some uninterrupted study time right before a final exam in religion class. She studied all night. When she arrived at class in the morning everybody was cramming as much last minute info as their minds could handle. The teacher walked in and said, "Let's do a quick review before the test."

They followed him through the review that was laid out on the study guide. As he covered item by item he finally jumped to issues the young girl had never heard covered in class. Several hands went up, "We never had that information before." The teacher picked up the text book and held it in his left hand and said, "Everything is in the book and you are clearly responsible for everything in the book." Who could argue with that!

Finally, it was time to take the test. The assistants passed out the test and the professor said, "Leave your test face down on the desk until everyone has one. I'll tell you when to turn your paper over and start." Two minutes later the class heard, "OK, you may start."

When the young girl turned her test over, every answer was filled in! A note at the bottom of the last page said: "Your Final Exam is now over. All your answers are correct. You are blessed with an 'A' on the final exam."

Every student read the same thing and looked up at the professor in utter astonishment!

When the professor was sure all eyes were on him he said, "You passed the test for one reason only, because the creator of the test took the test for you. All your study time, class time and hard work in preparation for this exam did not help you get the "A". You have just experienced --- GRACE."

Prayer: Father thank you for the grace you provide for me every day. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

Etta Sue, if you would like to post some Thanksgiving graphics, that would be wonderful!

Grace is something to be thankful for, absolutely!  May I ask each of you to post a few things you are most thankful for this year?  I will start.  I am thankful for:

Salvation and new life in Jesus
Great health
Wonderful husband, kids, grandkids and great grandchild, other relatives
Friends
Church
Freedom
Prayer
And so much, much more!  Thank you, God.

Carol - yes, it is indeed a series of treatments.  It'll begin on Dec. 1, then continue on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, and 9th.  At that point we'll see how things are.  Please pray that this recliner of mine doesn't give up - I'd be left with no way to sleep at all.

Janet, that's a great devotional.

I am grateful first, for salvation; for my family,  (and our new babies ) grateful for God's provision, that I live in America, grateful for my health,  grateful for so many things.

And first and last, beginning and end, I'm grateful for JESUS as my covering.

I know we'll be praying for Stacey, Larry and Pat....along with doctors doing the surgery tomorrow.

Al, is your recliner acting like it might give out?  I sure hope not.  That would be awful.  I slept in my recliner last night, and thought of you having to sleep in yours every night.  December 1 is near, so hope the treatment really helps you.

Maycie is staying with me again tonight.  She always goes to bed between 8 and 8:30.  She's so easy to care for.  I'm not sure if she does the same for mom, but for gramma our schedule makes it easier for both of us.  She gets up around 8, but I'm already up with the dogs to let them out of their crates and outside.

g'night all.  Nita

GMTA Janet...I was thinking the same thing.  We need Thanksgiving decorations here this week.

I have been praying for Stacy, Larry and Pat today.

The Harvest Dinner was great and a lot of people came back for great food and conversation.

I have been spending my time today opening up my Power Point Slide Shows in Power Point and saving photos that I think would be great backgrounds for the Projector Ministry at church.  Funny, there were no Christmas images with the software...hmmm!

Kitty, a few days ago, said that Embarq was working on emails and she couldn't receive or send emails for 48 hours.  I am thinking it is my time.  It shows I have 26 emails but I am not receiving them.   I guess I will take a rest from emails.

Dark and gloomy day in Indiana but a tad warmer.  Just feels so much colder with no sunshine.

I, too, am praying for Stacey and your family, Larry.

I loved that devotional story.  Thank the Lord for His grace and His Salvation so freely given!  Most of you have covered the basics that we sometimes take for granted (and I am also thankful for), so I will add some more specific things I can think of in addition to those.  I have much to be thankful for...

My mother had pleurisy and not a heart attack over the weekend.
My husband who is truly sticking by me during the "for worse", and "in sickness" part of marriage vows.  He's awesome!
My teenage daughters are following God.
Every wheezy breathe I take.
My sight. (such as it is)
Each click of the shutter on my camera. Photographing God's awesome creation is a big part of how I worship the Creator.

First of all, I'm thankful that my Lord even loves me when I'm not thankful!
Secondly, I'm thankful for the recliner I have - it's more than a little important!
Thirdly, I'm thankful for some wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ.
Fourthly, I'm thankful for adequate income to sustain and bless us.
Fifthly, I'm thankful my wife is in good health and helps me so much.
Thank You, Father!

Thankful for:
                 Everlasting Grace
                 My family and friends
Having all that I truly need
                 Freedom to speak my piece

Kathleen:  Bless you!  You are quite young to have all these health issues.  You have a wonderful family!

Happy Birthday to Janice

Al:  It sounds like your recliner fits you like an old shoe.

I was hoping to catch an update on Stacey so will check again some time tomorrow.  We are going to the mountains after Thanksgiving and I am bringing my sewing machine along as they need draperies shortened at their cabin.  We bought some nighttime cough syrup for me and hope that helps tonight.  The turkey is thawing in a cooler which I set in the tub and continue to put cool water on it and my bread is now dried enough that I can begin some of the dressing prep-work tomorrow.

Hi everyone.  First of all let me tell you that Stacey came through her surgery well.  They took her from her room at 10 am but the surgery didn't start until about 1 pm.  We got word about 5:30 that they were closing the chest and about 6 pm we spoke with the doctor.  They did the two bypasses and the doctor said her heart looked pretty good and the blood was freely flowing through the bypasses.  We were not able to see her in the cardiac ICU until after 8:30.  She was able to squeeze our fingers but is on a respirator.  She is having some bleeding but the nurse said that seems to be lessening and that she was doing fine.  We are no more than 5 minutes away from the hospital and will leave my cellphone on all night but don't anticipate any calls.

Two dear friends from our church came and stayed with us all afternoon until we had talked with the doctor.  It so helped the hours pass this afternoon and we very much appreciated this as we hadn't expected anyone to be with us.

I truly believe all of the prayers that have been offered have been of great benefit.  I would put this at the head of my list of things to be thankful this Thanksgiving along with being so thankful that Stacey seems to have come through this surgery and hopefully will have a good recovery.  I am also very thankful for this hospital where they don't forget the family members and have a staff person who works with the families keeping them informed of the progress of the surgery.

It is late so will sign off for tonight.

Larry ~ Great news about Stacy.

I was without internet yesterday while Embarq did some maintenance.  I worked with Sunday Plus and got some more images in it.  Then when I went to bed, I couldn't turn off my head!  So I got up and played some more on the computer and then noticed that I had internet again.....and 40+ emails.... ???  And I am thankful I have that many email friends.. ;)

Today is another Euchre Club.  Marie, the hostess today, called last evening and asked if my sister could play.  So Ivalou, Kitty and I will be leaving around 12:30pm for a fun afternoon.

It is cold.  The prediction was some snow last night but none showed up.  We usually have snow by now but none yet enough to cover the ground.
It is bright and sunny so that makes one feel warmer.

A month from today will be Christmas Day!!!

We saw Stacey at 9 am this morning and she looked great.  They are planning on moving her out of ICU sometime today.  She is off the respirator and has stood up.  She told me this morning that this surgery wasn't as bad as the last one.

We have a sunny day here today after a rainy day yesterday.  It is still cool here.

Prayer is powerful and we are thankful to our Heavenly Father for his care and the serenity he has allowed us to have.

Larry:  That is the news I wanted to read.

We took our normal hour walk and it is cooling down especially in the mornings.  However, no snow and the afternoon temps are way above normal.  Twenty degrees daily above normal.

I have sausage browned as well as onions and celery chopped and cooked - ready for the dressing that I fix on T-day.  Just a little sausage in the dressing only for taste - everyone wants a take-home bag of leftovers so I oblige.

Janet:  I have been listening to "the Shack".  My cousin didn't like the book at all and we have a retired pastor friend who wants us to read this book - what do you get out of it?  You can email me.  Thanks.

Larry, my heart rejoices with you and Pat that Stacey came through her surgery so well.  I will continue to pray that she has a supernaturally fast recovery.  God bless!

Carol, I have never used sausage in my stuffing, but that does sound good!  Maybe I will try it!  I know your family will enjoy a real feast.

We will leave in the morning for Salina, and return on Saturday.  It's about a five hour trip each way.

I heard on TV yesterday (a Christian program) that our kids are now being taught in school that Thanksgiving was started in order to give thanks to the Indians!!  :ticked:  Not a mention of God!!  Also, a lot of untruths about things we were said to have done to the Indians that never happened.  Grrr.

Carol, I will email you about The Shack.

Glen Beck is on TV talking about how God changed his life.  He has a book out called The Christmas Sweater.  I want to read that one!

I am assembling six frames, and have only one corner vise, which means 24 times changing them out.  I go change them about every 45 minutes.  I need another vise!  (Not another vice, though.  ;))  These are for my prints that are sold.

Time to go put in another corner!

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful day here in Atlanta.  It is very cool but suppose to warm up today.

Yesterday about 3 pm Stacey was moved from ICU to the heart floor and we saw her about 5 pm and she seems to be doing well.  She was having some pain but they were dealing with it.  I just now spoke with her and they had disconnected the solutions she has been receiving and removed a wrap on her leg where they harvested the veins.  She said she had gotten a little sleep last night but her foot was throbbing all night.  We will be going up to spend sometime with her later this morning.

It sounds like the preparations are well underway for those Thanksgiving dinners.  Janet, hope you all have a nice trip to Salina.

I don't have a clue what we will do for Thanksgiving other than eating out somewhere, perhaps at the hospital or may drive up to Cracker Barrel as know they have a good Thanksgiving dinner.

Title: Re: Thoughts for the Week~November 23
Post by: Carol on November 26, 2008, 09:40:36 AM
Janet:  You had to count the times the vice has to be changed on the frames.  That only makes it go slower.

All of my Christmas cards are ready to mail & Don has a few to finish.  This year our address has changed so I want to get them on the way as soon as possible.  Today, moving the table so it seats more and sprucing up the place then we drive neighbors to their church music service - it sounds like it will be great.

Larry:  Every meal you eat tomorrow will be a real thankful day for you.  Will keep praying that the pain will stop for Stacey.

Sunny and warm here and no snow at the house but we will be in the snow up the hills on Friday for the weekend.

My girls and I are enjoying being lazy this morning, since we don't have any school.  We will soon start preparing our food for Thanksgiving so we can just enjoy the day tomorrow.

Larry-Praise the Lord for His goodness!  I'm so glad to hear your daughter's surgery went well.  Prayers for a speedy and full recovery.  I will also pray that they can keep any pain under control for her.

Carol-thank you.  :)

Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING   everyone!

Euchre was fun yesterday.  Kitty drove by herself since she had a commitment at 5pm.  Ivalou and I went on to Noblesville and ate at Applebees.  Then on to the grocery store.  It was dark when we got home.  Gets dark early now!

I watched TV and dozed off a few times the rest of the evening.

Today I have dusted, swept, moved the furniture around in the living room, done a load of laundry, fixed lunched and washed dishes.  Now I need to make a pie and I am all done!

It is bright and sunny today and quite a bit warmer.  I even had on a fan while cleaning!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.  We have so much to be thankful for, even with trials on every hand.

Larry, it is great to hear that Stacey is doing as well as she is.  I pray that she will continue the progress, and that her foot heals completely too.  Hope you and Pat can enjoy the day tomorrow, even though you can't be at home.  We can give thanks wherever we are, no matter.

Thank you all for the birthday greetings Monday.  It was a nice day.  We went to IHOP for breakfast, to The Cotton Patch for lunch (courtesy of dtr and grdtr).  Then a cranberry tart enjoyed with all of them in the evening, courtesy of other grdtr.  Even little Sidney told me Happy Birthday, Grammie!

Happy Thanksgiving
From Northern California

We are going to Sarah's parents in Eureka for dinner. Well it won't be a very happy day for us as her father has found out that  they didn't get all the cancer when he had his prostate surgery and it has metastasized probably to his bones and they are giving him 5 years at the most. He will not be having any treatments  as the side effects would be worse than  not having them especially the bone pain. Please remember John Jones in  prayer as you think about him.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Happy Thanksgiving.  We are truly thankful for the many blessing God has bestowed on us and especially as these pertain to our children.  Yesterday we found Stacey much stronger and feeling much better.  We have talked to her about three times this morning and she has walked up and down the hall, which is one of the requirements before the doctors will dismiss her to come home.  I am sure her chest will be sore from using the walker but that is necessary.  She is to put only light weight on her foot and also on her arms.  Sounds like an impossible feat.  She just called to tell us there is a heart class at 11 pm that she must attend and we are invited.  So we will go over and sit in on the class as well.

We have decided to pack up here and go home this afternoon.  Then we will play it by ear because she may be dismissed tomorrow and if so we wouldn't have room in our car for our things and her wheelchair and her things.  It will be nice to get back home and sleep in our own bed.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  Again I thank all of you for your prayers.  I can't help but believe all of the prayers have contributed to her speedy recovery process.

Janice, unfortunately our daughter's foot problems are probably not going to get any better.  The shoes she will need cost over $500 a pair and she may have to have surgery on her foot.  The other foot is also becoming involved, although not nearly as far along and the neuropathy in her legs and feet won't get better.  She endures a lot of pain.

Carol, I haven't even thought about Christmas cards yet.  We have yet to do any shopping for Christmas but don't plan on doing much of that except for the great grandchildren.

Marilyn, that is terrible news regarding Sarah's father.

Larry Thank God for answered prayer.

We have had snow, snow, snow and more snow.  Everything is white. Reminds me of a chorus to an old hymn.
Whiter than snow,
    yes whiter than snow,
Wash me and I shall
   be whiter than snow!

Heard a story of an elderly British lady that was proudly hanginf out her beautifully bleached whites.  The pastor dropped by and was talking to her..  As he left he saw that it has snowed on her whites, and said "your white clothes don't look so white now do they!"  Her reply was wonderful.  "Ach Pastor nothing compares to God's White!".

Have a great day folks.

It was all white here when I got up but not snow....frost!  Now it is melted with the sun shining on everything.  Good rabbit hunting weather.  It was always a tradition for my Dad and husband to go rabbit hunting on Thanksgiving day.  Even when my husband was on crutches for a broken leg, he went rabbit hunting.  Tony scared it out and Bud got it.  Rabbit is good eating if you don't have to help clean it!

Ivalou did the turkey yesterday so all she has to do today is warm it up.  I have been thinking about this dinner more than normal.  Everything sounds sooooo good.

I need to get busy and get outta here and walk 70 steps east to Ivalou's!

We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter and son in law's home.  My son in law, Paul, has 4 other brothers, and 3 of them were there.  They are all really tall.  It was so sweet watching the brothers waiting on their mom while she sat at the table.   They lost their dad, she lost her husband, the 14th of this month, and I know they are all wanting to be of help to her while they are still here.  Two of them live out of town and will be leaving soon.  One sister, daughter, was home for her dad's funeral and was there today.   She's a missionary in Japan, and will be leaving to go back to her waiting husband on Saturday.

Jane was there too.   We all went around saying what we were thankful for.  Almost all spoke of salvation, family and friends.

I'm all cozy back at home.  I wanted to watch Hasn't God Been Good To Oregon, a yearly presentation of video and music all over Oregon, but I forgot, and it's over.

I hope everyone had a beautiful day, counting blessings and giving thanks.  Nita

PS:  I tried to stay away from the Pecan pie, but Jane forced me to have a piece! :clobber:

Nita:  I see that you just posted.

Etta Sue:  Love that bouncy turkey.

We had everyone here for the big day and it was so great - lovely thankful grace at the table - two tables.  Don is in the mountains and called as he forgot his clothes so I will bring that with me tomorrow.  I did put the garbage out and they will collect tomorrow - I do want to go to a fabric sale and would like to go to Kohl's but am afraid that the lot will be packed.

We went to a church service T-Day eve and it was so sweet with children singing and then they did a Grateful Dance with the pastor - after that people and children were asked to tell what they were most thankful for and it was really touching.  We drove our neighbors around and looked at a few lighted houses - had a small piece of pumpkin pie after church and then we were so late getting home that all the children had been calling and wondering where on earth we had gone.  It is so funny that now we live closer that they keep such close tabs on us and wouldn't even let me take my big kitchen things down to the basement tonight after they cleaned the kitchen.

Larry:  Thinking of you.

Pat:  Hello out there - I don't know if you are in the states for not - did you celebrate two Thanksgivings this year???

Just had a report that the coyotes are being really nasty and attacking dogs with much more frequency.  We do have a pack of 5 or more in the area and they are not afraid of people.  They tend to go after the small dogs even on leashes.

Do you think people are really thankful for everything they have?  If they are thankful - then who do they give thanks to?  How can they give thanks if they don't believe in the Lord?

Hi Everyone...

It's been a very busy week for us.

We left Guelph on Monday to head to Ohio to Paul's daughter's home to celebrate her birthday with her.  On the way, I started to feel a bit under the weather.  Well, some kind of "bug" hit me full swing in the middle of the night and we left on Tuesday in a snow storm and headed south to Virginia.  Poor Paul had to do all the driving as I was completely ill.  We stayed at his son's for the night and then back to Washington and then out to Jim's for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday.

It was a lovely day with family and Marla's parents.  What wonderful food.

Now we are going back to Winchester to do some work on the house and will stay till tomorrow.

Lots of travelling back and forth but I look to the future when all of this won't be so necessary and life will be back to some normalcy.

We've been praying for the various concerns mentioned here.  The Lord knows all about them and hopefully next week, I'll have better internet access to do more things on the site.

Talk to you all soon.

Nita, Nita, you mustn't prevaricate, especially on such a holy place as CP!

We went out to the house of our dear brother/sister in the Lord from church.  We go there just about every year.  We love them in our Lord very much.  There were about 14 other people there also this year.  Praise our Father, someone had given them $100 to have the T-day celebration this year, so they were indeed blessed!  And so were we!  We went around the table and each gave thanks for one or more special blessings.  Our hosts are a relatively young couple with three boys ranging from 6 to ten or so years old.

Pat sorry you have been under the weather.  Did you have your flu shot?  You had better with all the travelling you do.

Busy day here, still snowing and will be for another 2 - 3 days.  Someone said that it will be raining next week.  At least we don't have toshovel rain!

What a great Thanksgiving!  There were 16 at Ivalou's.  Not as many as usual but a nice group and great food.  It was great to see Jo, the niece that had a the gall bladder surgery over election day.  And to see her husband, Steve, all happy.  He lost his job Nov 8 but goes back to work next Monday!  Erik I think grew another inch or two since he is in college at Cincinnati U.  And Kara is a typical 15 year old middle child...attitude!  And Lydia is always cute as a button.  Connal's fourth birthday was yesterday so his family all left early to have birthday cake, candles, balloons and more food at his party!  We sat around and played Apples to Apples...a word game that is fun.

When I got back home, I was so sluggish.  I fell asleep watching TV and went to bed early.

Today is another bright, sunny day.  Beautiful outside.  Looks like summer but when I took the trash out, I realized it isn't summer!!!

Good Morning,
We had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday, Sarah's sister and her family didn't show up so it was just 8 of us and very nice. John was is a good mood and not dwelling on his bad news.

Keith and I took a walk around the neighborhood for him to look at some of the old Victorians when we got back Gil took a photo of us and said "I approve". I looked at Keith and said "you have my son's approval" So we kind of joked about that on the way back here.

He has gone back to Oregon this morning as his son's will be at his house to visit before they go back to school in Portland.

The dogs and the cat got along like they have always been together, however we did put the cat in the big dog crate while we were gone yesterday. He sounded like he was saying "Let me out" " let me out". He is getting so  big and weighs
9 lbs now at 7 months.

Well time for me to got to work.

Here' s little quote from something I got in my email:

"Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams
don't have much."

We had 12 for dinner and visiting yesterday, and had such a great time.  Lots of thankfulness in the group.  The turkey cooked in hot peanut oil outdoors had a cajun butter injection in it and the boys did a great job watching carefully with a fire extinguisher at ready.  I was a little fearful but it really had a mild seasoning and was moist and very good.  One hour and six minutes for a 19 # turkey - not bad.

Marilyn:  How sweet of your Gilbert to tell you that he approves.

Pat:  So sorry to read that you were ill on the drive - it is always difficult to be away and not well.  Sounds like things are picking up and you will be at your new home soon.

  :)  Good afternoon to all.

Carol:   Did they cook the turkey over a BBQ or over an open fire.  It sounds so good.

Pat:  BIG SIS.  I hope that you are feeling fine or getting better.  When you leave to come home please be careful.

Larry.  It sounds like you had a wonderful thanksgiving with your friends from church. Hope that your daughter is getting stronger and will soon be able to come home.  It would be so wonderful if her feet would get better.  Did you ever get the scooter that you talked about a while ago.  My wife has one and it is the greatest thing that she was ever given.  If you do not have one let me know and I can give you the company name and they sometimes have refurbished ones but the new ones are not that expensive.  The LORD bless.

Etta Sue:  It sounds like you also had a wonderful time for thanksgiving.  It must be so nice to be able to be part of lots of other peoples family.  Look after yourself and don't overdo it.  God bless. :)

Judy B:  Hi sis.  How are you it sounds like there is never a dull moment up there in Powassan and lots of snow.  Please keep it we don't want it.  God bless.  Love ya.  Gord and Noreen. <3

To all others I try to keep up on the post's and enjoy them all  COLIN WHERE ARE YOU WE MISS YOU.
Please don't be shy we want all of you who only post once in while to try to keep us informed about you so we can PRAY FOR YOU.  God Bless you all. :coffee:

Good Afternoon, Where is everyone. Gee whiz if we would all post at least once a day there would be a lot of posts in here.

We are expected to have flood warning along the coast  from 7 tomorrow night until 1 pm on Sunday with waves 18 to 20 feet. I have the Weather Channel on my computer and the little icon was yellow yesterday and has turned Red today it is normally blue. They are warning people to stay away from the beaches.

Pat I hope you are feeling better today.

Larry how is Stacey today?

Janet how is Beth?

Liz how is Wendy?

Hey, Kids, I'm home!!  We had planned to stay at Kerri's tonight and come home tomorrow, but after her working so hard on the dinner, and us getting up at 4 AM to go shopping (are we nuts or what?) Kerri was exhausted.  I figured she would not go to bed and rest if we were there, so we gathered up our stuff and headed out.  That way, they can get their rest and have a good day tomorrow.

I think there were 15 of us there for dinner yesterday.  Son in law Ray cooked the turkey and ham in his Traeger grill, after rubbing them with seasoning and injecting seasonings into them.  He got up at 4:30 to start them smoking, and they were cooked to perfection!  Far and away the best tasting turkey I have ever eaten.

I didn't mean to imply that Kerri did all the work, of course we all pitched in with food and helping, but we couldn't get her out of that kitchen until very late afternoon, then she didn't sleep well, so was really tired today.

I was very happy to get some cartridges for my Cricut machine on sale today at Hobby Lobby!  :)  For those who don't know, that is a machine used in card making and scrapbooking, that cuts out fancy shapes, letters, etc.  I also found three books I have been wanting, so I guess I bought my own gifts this time.  Darrel says that's the only way to be sure you get what you want!  ;)

I am getting really drowsy; long time since 4 AM.  So will sign off and try to acknowledge each of you tomorrow.

Hi everyone.  It is raining here and has been throughout the night.

I am happy to be able to report that Stacey was dismissed from the hospital yesterday afternoon and we have her here at our house for a few days until she feels up to going back to her apartment.  She has made remarkable progress from the surgery.  She just needs to rest and let the healing occur.  Her doctor took her off of several medications she had been taking and prescribed a new medication that was very expensive.

We are looking forward to later today when our son and his wife are to be here.  We haven't seen them since last Christmas and it has probably been close to 2 years since they have been to our house.  They are bringing over the electric scooter for Stacey although they are concerned that it has a tendency to tip and are afraid it might throw her off.  We will be looking into getting a power chair.  Our daughter-in-law was able to get a power chair for a very reasonable price by buying a demo or refurbished one and has been very satisfied with it.

It was nice to read about everyone's Thanksgiving and it sounds like we all had a nice time in different ways.

Good Morning, When I was making my bed this morning I rose up and had severe pain in my back, I could barely lift the laundry basket from the floor to start my laundry. I took a couple of Aleve's and hope I can get through the day. I do have a 24 hr number for my Chiropractor and my appt isn't until Tuesday morning, however if  this keeps up I will be using that 24 hr number

Anyway I am getting off for now.

I found out that Bud's (my husband) youngest daughter passed away Thanksgiving Day.  She was only 45.  Apparently she had a massive heart attack.  Her son went to her house but she didn't come to the door.  He broke in and Melony was sitting up in her bed with her chin on her chest.  Gone.  She lived in Arkansas.  So say a little prayer for the other four kids and their families.

I have been piddling today but I did get all my calenders printed for the family.  And I have decided on the Christmas Cards to print.  Just need ink now.  My church has a mailbox that you bring your cards to church and drop them in the mailbox.  Then later my Sunday school class sorts the cards and they are given out Sunday before Christmas.  Nice not to have to put postage on the cards.

We are having a heat wave today.  44 degrees.  But.....it is suppose to snow tonight and have 1-2 inches of the wide stuff on the ground in the morning and forecasting 38 degrees tomorrow with more snow tomorrow night!  But....we have had forecast of snow before this year and none yet!

I'm on the home stretch with those frames---only one corner to go!  Then to assemble the prints and mats, clean and put in the glass, fasten, Glue on the dust covers, put on hangers, etc. and I'm done!

My sis from Nebraska and her husband came through town this morning, but he was in a big hurry to get home before dark, so we met them and my younger sis at the care home for a few minutes.  Very short visit, but good to see them.

Our Sunday school teacher asked me and Darrel to talk to our class tomorrow about our trip to Europe, so I'm getting stuff together for that.  And----ta da!  I am now a published author!  ;)  The Ulysses News published my trip story in a shortened form in this week's paper.  They had told me they were going to use it in next week's paper, so I was surprised when I brought in the mail and there it was--half of page one, and all of page 16!!  :)

I need to get busy here and do some stuff.  If I don't work toward Christmas a little bit every day, I will not be ready.  :-\  But it will come anyway!  ???

Larry, I am so happy to read about Stacey's rapid improvement.  God surely does continue to answer prayers!

I haven't been able to do much today, I did  do the  two loads of laundry, showered and washed my hair just in case I am able to go to church tomorrow and I washed the few dishes I had in the sink. Other than that all I have done is sit in my chair and try not to move much. Now I am going to go get the ice pack  and see if that will help. If anyone feels like praying for me I would certainly appreciate it. I don't think even one of those who have posted since I did have even acknowledged my pain.  Same thing regarding the prayer request I posted on Thanksgiving.Oh well too late now.

I think I will go sit in the corner with Jane for a few days

Marilyn, if we don't post about it, doesn't mean we don't pray about it.  Sorry you are feeling neglected, we all feel that way at times.

Etta Sue, that is really a shame for such a young woman to die suddenly.  Did she have five children, or were you referring to her siblings?

I got the framing all finished and that is a relief.

Carol, is your email address on here correct?  I sent you one and got a delivery failure notice.  I could have made a typo, of course.

I have a stiff neck tonight, glad I have a chiropractic appointment first thing Monday!

I hope you all have restful sleep and sweet dreams tonight.

Hi everyone.  I slept in a bit this morning.  It is cloudy and we have a 50-50 chance of more rain today.  I heard it raining fairly hard during the night.

Our son and daughter-in-law started out yesterday to drive here but a short ways down the road turned around and went back home as the roads were slick with all the rain and our son felt it wasn't safe to try to make the trip.  They may try again today or just wait until next weekend.  It seemed like a long afternoon.  However, we did have a very good lunch.

Marilyn, sorry to read of your bad back and also Janet of your stiff neck.  Hope you both will be feeling better today.

Etta Sue, I am sure that death was a shock to her family.  Did she have previous problems with her heart?  The Christmas Card box at church sounds like a good idea.  However, I don't believe in exchanging cards with those that I see all the time and can bring personal Christmas best wishes to them.  I haven't even thought about sending Christmas cards yets but guess I need to begin to do so.

Melody, I see you like to get your tree up early.  Is this a custom in your family to put it up at the beginning of December.
