Morning Devotional...The Key of the Greater Work
by Oswald Chambers
"... I say to you, he who believes in Me, ... greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father" (John 14:12).Prayer does not equip us for greater works—
prayer is the greater work. Yet we think of prayer as some commonsense exercise of our higher powers that simply prepares us for God's work. In the teachings of Jesus Christ, prayer is the working of the miracle of redemption in me, which produces the miracle of redemption in others, through the power of God. The way fruit remains firm is through prayer, but remember that it is prayer based on the agony of Christ in redemption, not on my own agony. We must go to God as His child, because only a child gets his prayers answered; a "wise" man does not (see Matthew 11:25).
Prayer is the battle, and it makes no difference where you are. However, God may engineer your circumstances, your duty is to pray. Never allow yourself this thought, "I am of no use where I am," because you certainly cannot be used where you have not yet been placed. Wherever God has placed you and whatever your circumstances, you should pray, continually offering up prayers to Him.
And He promises, "Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do ..." (14:13). Yet we refuse to pray unless it thrills or excites us, which is the most intense form of spiritual selfishness. We must learn to work according to God's direction, and He says to pray. "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Matthew 9:38).
There is nothing thrilling about a laboring person's work, but it is the laboring person who makes the ideas of the genius possible. And it is the laboring saint who makes the ideas of his Master possible. When you labor at prayer, from God's perspective there are always results.
What an astonishment it will be to see, once the veil is finally lifted, all the souls that have been reaped by you, simply because you have been in the habit of taking your orders from Jesus Christ.

When You Pray (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/whenyoupray.mid)
(Click for music)
At the close of the day, when you kneel to pray
Will you remember me?
I need help every day, this is why I pray
Will you remember me?
Chorus:
When you pray, will you pray for me
For I need His love and His care
When you pray, will you pray for me
Will you whisper my name in your prayer
At the close of the day, when I kneel to pray
I will remember you
You need help every day, this is why I pray
And I will remember you
When I pray, I will pray for you
For you need His love and His care
When I pray, I will pray for you
I will whisper your name in my prayer

Hopefully, you will all understand.
Have a wonderful week.

Hi Pat!
I recieved your email today and thought that I should probably share a praise report with you all!
I had requested prayer for my dad last year some time.
He is doing SO good and I wanted to let you all know that your prayers made a difference!!
He has moved into a new place. A independant living building.
He has his own apartment and can do what he likes, but they have like a resteraunt where
their lunch and dinners are provided and they have assistance in the building for whatever they need help with.
My dad was not able to do some things because of his heart problems.
He is coming ALIVE here!
He is not alone all the time now.
He has started to PAINT again!! Which is a MAJOR sign of LIFE!!
He says that sometimes he can't sleep because he has ideas for paintings in hs head!!!
His apartment now looks like an ART STUDIO!!!
I love it!!
He communicates WAY more and I am relating and talking way more to him, because of our creative spirits!!
I am actually feeling a love for my dad that I never felt before.
I think because we are connecting in something that we both love!!
There are people in the building that are encouraging my dad with his art work.
They have hung like 14 of his paintings in their library and he has priced them all for sale.
This is not like my dad. He rarely sells his work, he just gives it away.
He is charging big bucks too....Amazing!
He is doing SO good!!
He has put a couple of his paintings in a draw to earn money so the building can get a new Karaoke machine.
I believe he is feeling purpose again and being around people has done wonders for him!!
You can't believe HOW MUCH this means to me!!
From wanting to die to THIS!!!
AMAZING!!!!!!
I love God SO much!!!
Here are a couple of pics of dad.
The first one is my dad with his easel on the left, one of his paintings behind him on the wall, art supplies
on the right of him.
And one that is an old pic of my dad sitting beside a painting that he has been working on.
Thank you Pat and anyone else who prayed for my dad!
We are SEEING the FRUIT of that !!!
Much love
Geri-Jean
The second picture...
THANKS AGAIN !!!
Pat: Your devotional speaks encouragement.
Samanatha: Please encourage Terry to seek med. attention as I would guess that it is fear that is holding him back.
Janet: Thanks
Al: Thanks for your explanation about Bi-Polar
Pat: Enjoy your time away.
Marilyn: Do take care of your pets, as I am sure that they love you dearly.
Doug is here today helping his dad put the boat away for the winter, Doug does have a nasty cold that is on the mend. Praise God for that.
It has also turned cold but not raining with lots of sun.
Ruth
JudyB when you look in please go to recipes I have bumped up a recipe for your cookbook that you are making.
The only thing that Terry is "afraid" of so far is having a heart cath done. Well, that and the bill! ;) He is worried about dying and leaving me and the kids, and the fact that so far the drs he has seen can't seem to find what is wrong with his chest (heart). In Nov of 2005, he had the shingles and a stomach virus at the same time, and during the worst of the stomach virus the chest problems started. All I know is that I miss my old Terry, the one who didn't hurt all the time, but I am gratefull that he is still here with us. Praise the Lord!
Back to the bi-polar deal, my nephew needs Jesus first and foremost, and then I think he wouldn't be bi-polar anymore. The one who does take his medicine is saved and I think that is why his is not as bad and the other one is.
Bless all who come through this week and pray for us, that we would be in His will.
Have a great trip Pat.
Samantha <3
Hi everyone. Just a quick checkin from Independence, Missouri. We had a safe and pleasant, if long, trip here Wednesday and Thursday. It has been busy here and I haven't been able to get on my SIL's computer or spend enough time at the library (high-speed) to get to CP to read and post. I have only read the posting since Pat started the new week so don't know what is going on.
Tomorrow we are headed to Maryville, Missouri to see my sister and BIL. We will spend tomorrow night in a motel up there and have more time with them before coming back here.
Just wanted to let everyone know we are safe and sound (although that might be stretching it).
Pat, hope you have a wonderful time in Virginia.
Thanks Larry! I'm sure going to try to have a wonderful time.
I will try to check in tomorrow between packing the car and going to bed early so that I can get up early. I plan of pulling out of here at about 4 am Monday. I have to play the organ tomorrow evening at church though and then home to bed.
I went to my friend Eleanor's house for her little get together birthday party. We had a very nice time and we prayed over her before we all went our separate ways. Now I have set my hair and am ready for bed. I can't wear my CPAP apparatus with all these rollers in my hair tho'.
I pray you have a nice trip Pt. How long will you be gone.. By the Way it is so nice to have you posting again and often too. <3
Good Night.
Hi All
Have sold a pup and there are 2 to go. I will be investing in a laptop with some of the money, my computer is dying a very slow death but soon it will crash completely.
Pat AMEN to the devotional. I am printing it out to read closer with my Bible.
John got home about 7:30 with supper from Heather. We had a power outage and didn't manage to get supper made for some strange reason the stove wouldn't work! LOL Heather sure blessed us with shepherds pie.
The weather is warm and we still go out with just shirt sleeves. We only need jackets when it is raining. This is so unusual for the time of year. The weather reports that tomorrows weather will be 20*C which is about 68*F. This is the warmest autumn in years.
I am off, I want to get a reasonable sleep tonight, and then the Lord's house tomorrow.
I am remembering each need, so rest in the Lord.
JudyB
Marilyn, I'll be gone a week. I was planning on 10 days but my friend has some things planned for the last three days so I'll be coming home next Monday but won't get home till midnight-ish I expect.
So, I'll be on here Tuesday...unless I get on a computer while I'm away.
Pat how long does it take you to drive from Guelph to Virginia?
Judy did you get the recipe?
About 9 hours, Marilyn.
That's to Washington, DC area.
I think Judy posted in the recipes.
Thanks Pat I did see that Judy posted in a couple of places in recipes for those that I had posted, It just wasn't the one I bumped up for her.
I am ready for church and so looking forward to celebrating our Lord. Our pastor is doing a series on the Everlasting Word of God it is to be 7 weeks long.
It is only 38°F here this morning brrrr. I think I need to invest in a dehumidifier to keep the mildew and mold from growing. It hasn't started yet but I have noticed my wash cloths have a slight odor to them after only being used once. I am going to put a bucket with vinegar water in my shower and place the wash cloths in that after each use. Use a clean one every time. Good thing I have lots of them.
OK I see I am rambling again. I will let you go. now.
Later.
Hellooooooooooo...
Has ANYONE seen my note from YESTERDAY !!!!!

Just in and am so happy to see your post Geri-Jean! Thanks for telling us about your father. I have him on my list and have been praying since Matt first told me about it.
I'm so happy that he's coming along and this is just wonderful.
We'll continue praying and I'm so glad you also included the photos of him.
I have to play the organ at church tonight and then I'll get home and go right to bed so that I can get up early to drive to Virginia in the morning. I hope to pull out of here at 4 to 5 pm. I have the car gassed up and all is ready.
I'll be away for maybe 10 days but not sure yet. Maybe just a week.
Where are the photos and where was that post that I missed it.?
Awesome worship this morning I get so blessed when using my Glory Ring, The Lord is giving me the dance steps and movements of the ring to use for HIS glory. I sang and danced before the Lord with so much joy. I know some of you do not believe in this and may even think it is satanic (as one woman at my church suggested), It is a ministry.
Miriam and the women danced before the Lord with tamborines. David danced before the Lord. The word tells us to be Joyful and to Rejoice in the Lord. The Jews dance in their synagogues. Have you ever seen a Jewish celebration?
Later.
Again we have a beautiful sunny day short sleeves & shorts for some.
Marilyn: The dancing is not for all of us but it is what you believe so that counts for the glory of God.
A good number of churches are turning modern and I find that very difficult for worship - reaching the people is what counts.
Larry: It is good to see you are back home.
Pat: Take water to drink as you travel and the time will fly. My MIL advised me to drink water not something sweet it turned out to be so much better.
Off to enjoy the rest of the day. Ruth
Pat Havve a great trip, take your camera, and take lots of pictures. I've never been to tha t part of the country so I can't wait to hear about your trip.
The grands have been with us since last night. We had a great afternoon in the bush. We took the tractor and trailler so mom could go with us. I made several trips to serve washroom breaks and drinks. The dogs ran both ways about five trips worth. Yes we were out there a long time. The weather was beautiful, up over 70*F and a wonderful breeze blowing. The sun shone through the yellow leaves and gave a wonderful glow. When we got home the dogs collapsed. Our old man and old lady are sore, very sore. Dexter complained whenever he had to move and Cimi was too sore to get on my knee. Everyone else is fine and feeling energised from being out in the fresh air.
Marilyn not sure which recipe you mean.
Geri-Jean, yes I read your news, I am praising and praying!
John leaves for New Liskerd tomorrow morning at 4:30. From there we don't know where he in going. He is heading to bed soon aas am I
HAve a good night everyone

I am back home!!! Wonderful three days. Ivalou and I went to Shipshewana, Indiana...an Amish/Mennonite community. I have never seen so many buggies anywhere. We went in this restaurant to eat and I think 95% of the people there were Amish men. Probably 75-100 men. We shopped in several shops and went to a museum that was about Amish, Mennonite and Hutterites. I had never heard of Hutterites before. I only took one photo and that was in a shop. It was a yellow-gold Christmas tree with John Deere ornaments!!! I couldn't believe what I was seeing!
Then yesterday we went to Middlebury, Indiana. We had lunch at the same Amish restaurant that Walter and Nancy and I used to stop in on our way to Grand Rapids, Michigan. We were going to Nappannee, Indiana, but sadly, the night before a tornado went through that town and about wiped it out. We decided we didn't need to get in the way of them cleaning up. So sad and so many homes destroyed.
Today we went to Fair Oaks Farm in Fair Oaks, Indiana. 30,000 dairy cows where they say you have a dairy good time! There is a learning building where kids, and adults, too, learn about cows. We saw a 3-D movie and had to wear 3-D glasses...got squirted in the face with milk right from the cows teat!! Then we boarded a bus that took us to the barns. Cows are immune to diseases from the air but not from humans so we weren't allows to get out and touch the cows. The bus went right down the middle of the barns. So many black and white cows! Then we went in this one building where they did let us go up the stairs and watched the cows being milked on a carousel. The cow steps on the carousel one at a time...it holds 72 cows.... The cows udder and teats are sanitized and wiped clean with paper towel. Then the milkers are put on the teats. The milker is electronic and measures the amount of milk for the cow. When the milk stops flowing then the milker drops off the teats. About that time, the cow is where it can back up and leave the carousel. So in 8 minutes the cow is milked and they are milked three times a day! And they are all so contented, they are chewing their cud the whole time!!
After that we had lunch back at the Cheese Shop. Then we went to the birthing barn. There were stairs and bleachers for people to sit on and watch the two stalls where two cows were in labor. Glass fronts on the stalls. One cow was having her first calf and was having a hard time. A girl put on plastic long gloves and turned the calf. Still no birth. So she and another girl put straps on the calf and 'pulled' the calf until it was born. A beautiful sight. I cried. Then the other cow must have had a false labor. They removed her and brought in another cow. She had a calf in 15 minutes. So I saw two calves being born today. They have 6-7 births a day in the birthing barn and 75-90 births a day on the farm!!! The girls they keep and in two years they give birth by artificial insemination. They boys they sell. They said if they could milk boys, they would keep them!!
Great experience! Loved out little mini-vacation!!
Have a great trip, Pat!!(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*

Etta Sue, sounds like a good time! Thanks for the interesting report!
Geri-Jean, what a blessing for your Dad to be doing so good! I know how it is to have so many painting ideas swirling in my brain that I can't sleep. God bless you both.
Pat, have a great trip, we will miss you.
Ruth, good to see you in here again. And...you're welcome.
Judy, I think it is probably cooler down here in Kansas than way up there in Canada!
Larry, enjoy your trip, thanks for checking in, always good to see your posts.
Darrel is preparing for a colonoscopy tomorrow (fun, fun---NOT)
I have 75 baby shower invitations all ready to go into the mail in the morning! Whew.
Did anyone else watch the Republican presidential debates tonight?
If I haven't addressed you, just chalk it up to a senior moment, and please forgive me.
Janet I am not sure whether this is to be considered our Indian Summer or not, Our weather has been wet, but I wouldn't call it really cold. Usually it gets much colder than it has been before Indian Summer.
John is asleep and I am the one concerned that he wake up in time to make the trip. It is not that far, but the issue gets complicated when there is a scheduled delivery.
I am so excited. I have bought a new laptop computer. I am using puppy money so it won't come out of the budget. I haven't had a new computer for years, just rebuilds. They have worked fine, but it will be so nice to get a new one. I will get the necessary repairs done to this one so that the girls can work on it. I need to find out as well how to place the parental controls on it.
Well I have to run, be back tomorrow.
Love to all
JudyB

Good morning! Is it always great to sleep in your own bed after a few nights away. I slept really good.
Bright and sunny in Indiana...a little windy but nice. After lunch I will mow the grass and cut up the leaves with the mower.
I have already been to Kaye Don's and got my mail and papers. Ivalou came in while we were talking so I have seen her also. Great to have family next door.

I'm thinking of our Mieka, because of the wildfires in Malibu. I know her home is there, and wonder if it is one of the ones burned or endangered. I don't know where Mieka is just now, in California or in Tibet. But I do know how much she loves her home in California.
Darrel's doctor was in New York, then got stranded in Kansas City, so his procedure was postponed twice. Now it is set for 12:30. He sure is getting hungry, and his elbow hurts because he cannot have any aspirin. We will both be greatly relieved to have it over with.
I started my exercise routine again this morning, but didn't get to do the treadmill, as someone was on it the entire time I was there. :(
Good Morning, The morning started out terrific, but for for the last 45minutes I have been trying to get through to the place to sign up for the HEAP program with the local as and Electric company. hey only accepts calls on Monday beginning at 9 am. and only take so many calls. Drat I cannot get through and I have to go to work. After work out to Gilbert's in Blue Lake to help them with something.
Etta Sue your trip sounds marvelous!
Marilyn, sorry you couldn't get through. Try again tomorrow, and see if you can get through at opening time. That might get you through.
Janet I have been thinking of Meika as well. has anyone heard from her?
The girls are just about ready for cadets. I got my study for tonights small group done during piano lessons. So we are just about ready to roll.
I will say Bye for now and God Bless
Judy like I said above QuoteThey only accepts calls on Monday beginning at 9 am., and only take so many calls.
I will have to try agin next week. All I want to know form them are they renewing my application for this year or do I have to fill out a new one.
After working two hours and going to Gilbert's I cam home had soemlunch and took off again to go help my friend Maureen get her laptop and the power point presentation set up for tonight's Xocai meeting. Tomorow after work I am going to her place to organize her office.

Etta Sue: Thanks for sharing your trip to the farm.
Janet: Darrel will be so thankful when the procedure is over and done.
Judy: Indian summer comes after a frost and according to the radio that has not happened yet, at least down here.
I had a Dr's apointment so feeling happy like the day I took the after off, what a wonderful feeling.
It was just a few minutes ago that Mel and I put a tarp over some of our outdoor furnishing making us a little closer to the cold snowy days ahead. Time to call it a night . Ruth
I just got back from a 3 day women's prayer retreat at our church's camp ground. We had 21 ladies from our church and 74 or so total from other churches around middle and west Tennessee. We spent about an hour and half wallowing in the Holy Spirit through prayer and praise. It was wonderful. Prayers were answered and are still being answered though we are still in continuous prayer about a few things. But I want to encourage any of you if you ever have an opportunity to experience anything like this do it. We spent all weekend in prayer and on our faces. Women of all ages! I've gone several times to this and other prayer retreats but to see God move upon us like He did is indescribable. He is an awesome God. When you allow God to use you it it's an amazing feeling. When we pray for others we are in the battle alongside them, appropriating God's power on their behalf. If we declare the Word of God in our prayers, then we move powerful weapons against which no enemy can prevail. Thank you for this week's thought it went right along with my weekend and apparently God wants me to meditate longer on this. Hope all have a wonderful week.
HI everyone. We are back in Independence, Missouri after spending yesterday and this morning about a hundred miles north of here, where I grew up, and visiting with my sister and brother-in-law. We went to a turkey/ham luncheon yesterday that was being served by a local Catholic church and had a delicious meal for a very reasonable price. Then went back to the motel where we were staying and played bridge. At dinner time we just went to a Dairy Queen for a hamburger and ice cream and back to the motel to play more bridge.
This morning we met for breakfast at a place that has been in business for probably my whole life. We recognized the waitress and asked her how long she had been working their and she said she started when she was 19, back in 1962. This must have been a good place to work.
We then went to the Senior Center, where I had gone often when staying with my folks, and played a few more hands of bridge until it was time to leave shortly before noon. We then left for the drive back.
This evening we had a big family get-to-gether with my sister-in-laws family to celebrate her granddaughter's 18th birthday.
It has been a full day and I am looking forward to some quieter days this week.
It's good, Larry, to get reconnected to family, but it's also good to get back to your own peace and quiet again. So you're from Missouri? My wife Marbeth grew up until age 11 in a suburb of St. Louis (Pine Lawn).
Good Mornng Nothing new here so far today. I will go to work for 2 hours. I do hope all y-all are praying for me to get more work. I really need it.
Larry I am glad you are enjoying your time away from home.
Lizzy your retreat sound wonderful. I have never been to a women's retreat. Prayer is so much a part of my life.

Now I think Ivalou has my cold... :'(
I am going to the ENT today for another flexible laryngoscopy and she just called to say she wasn't going with me. She either is getting my cold or she got some allergies from mowing the yard yesterday. She has allergies that I don't have.
It is rainy and gloomy today. When I look out my kitchen window, I can barely see grass for all the leaves that the rain has brought down. Now all I need is a strong wind to blow them away. ::)
I don't think I have ever mentioned it but the spell check on here is very helpful. When I see something underlined in red then I know something needs to be checked. Of course, 'Ivalou' is always underlined and I know it is spelled right. ::) And, it doesn't check grammar or the difference between 'beau', 'bow', and 'bough' but it does help in reading it when it is spelled correctly. {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}}

Ruth We have had 3 - 4 frosts, but we haven't had the consistent cold that seems to be connected with Indian Summer. The rain is coming your way, we have had rain all night and damp overcast and cold, (8*C). I am glad pat had gone away for a week. She is in the nicer weather.
We had an interesting discovery when we got home last night. Our new dog was in the house in his cage and there didn't seem to be any problem associated with it! The background to that statement is that Mom doesn't like the pup because he is too active. Because of the length off time we were to be gone we tied him up outside, thinking that the weather was warm and that was preferable to be kenneled all evening. Here he broke his collar and barked at the door. Mom opened the door and patt ed the floor of the cage. He jumped right up and was content. Later in the evening he started to complain so she let him loose and he went into the livingroom with her and lay at her feet for about 2 hours. When she was heading to bed she told him it was bedtime and to get into his kennel and he did!!! This dog is so smart. She now loves the little guy, he listened to her!
Small group was good. Our facilitators husband took the evening, as she is just back from Austrailia. We had an interesting time discussing the 3rd chapter of Romans. Some of our gtoup are getting hung up in the law and in understanding that we are under God's grace.
ES I am sorry about your sisters cold. When these things start they seem to make the rounds. It seems we are having similar weather. I have tried several times to use spell check and found it didn't work for me. Short of putting my answer in word and then copy and pasting it to get the correct spelling.......
Larry you and your family enjoy yourselves. This is good to reconnect.
Lizzy retreats are always refreshing. I am glad you enjoyed yours.
Hi Al and Marilyn
Got to go have work to do for John that I want to start today.
God bless
JudyB
Hi everyone. I spent the morning doing the laundry down in the basement of the apartment house where my SIL lives. They have 3 or 4 machines for only about 8 apartments. No one else was doing laundry and now we have clean clothes for the rest of our trip. We will probably head for home next Monday.
I am at the library using the wireless high speed connection. I just came from the ATT store where I was able to arrange DSL at 1.5 megs for my sister-in-law. They have a $14.99 plan and we have been paying $10/month for dialup, which really hasn't been successful. This will be much better and won't tie up her house phone. The service is suppose to be ready on Friday sometime so I can go ahead and get the modem installed and have her computer ready for the DSL. I will also cancel the current NetZero dialup service for her.
Pat is showing her sister how to use the Bernina 940 sewing machine that we brought to her along with the sewing table that goes with it. I hope she will be able to get a lot of benefit from it. Pat couldn't have gotten much out of selling it and it is still in perfect working order. She got a new one designed for quilting a few months ago so didn't need this one. I thought it was a good time to get out of the house for awhile. It is truly a beautiful day here. It got down to 49 degrees last night but I don't think they have had any frost, nor have we in Georgia.
Marilyn, I hope new work comes your way quickly.
Judy, a new computer is always a joy to work with and I expect you will see major changes from your old computer, although I think you indicated you still have dial-up and that will affect the speed of Internet (as you know). What brand of computer did you get--we need details. :)
Janet, Pat had the procedure earlier this month that Darrel has just had. She got along fine. As always the preparation is the unpleasant part of the process. She was able to watch the procedure as it was being done and the doctor then gave her a page of photos.
Etta Sue, that was quite a trip you had. I can't imagine so many cows. I grew up on a dairy farm and 20 cows at once was enough.
Al, it is good to see family again. However, there is no place like home. I grew up in NW Missouri as did my wife, who grew up in Independence.
Good Morning everyone. It looks like it is goign to be overcast this morning I wonderf if the sun will make it out lter.
After my Tai Chi class this morning I am going to shampoo my carpet. It won't take long in my little house and it sure needs doing.
Etta Sue thanks for telling us about you mini trip with Ivalou. How did you doctor appointment turn out yesterday .
That's all for now folks
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBear.gif&hash=f8638546e18000d4387691515eafa35354bc8493)
Thanks for asking about my doctor appointment yesterday. Everything is still clear, thank God. He did talk to me more yesterday than anytime. He said that really he can't say I had/have cancer of the voice box. Cancer is when the growth is embedded and what I had, he pealed off like removing tape. But there were some cancer cells in what he removed. (But we all have cancer cells) So that is why he waited six weeks and went back in and lazered the area. He also said that we caught mine just in the nick of time. He said most of his patients have to have chemo and/or radiation because the growths were embedded. And even some first time patients have to have the voice box removed. So I am very thankful to God above for all he does for me. Also we have a doctor in my photography guild. He told me that I had allergies that caused my hoarseness and I should see an allergist! Glad I didn't listen to him!
Today is another rainy, gloomy day. No sunshine. A little cool...only 47° right now. I plan to work on some pictures today and maybe work on my 2008 calenders!! tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2FSfgt.gif&hash=d8a8c7556ca654fb9b844b122ddc7c8eadb07a93)
Good afternoon: Fall has arrived and what a change from the warm summer like days we have been having.
This morning we stopped at Tim Horton's for our wednesday morning coffee and visit with many past school bus drivers, what a wonderful time 10 of us in all.
Have a great afternoon, Ruth
ES that is indeed good news. I have been praying about that as I have thought of my friends here.
Ruth I agree the summer weather had gone. It is quite cold here as well, overcast and rain this morning.
I am so thankful for wood that is free. We had the furnace going last night and then restarted this morning.
Marilyn, yes I am praying for your needs.
Larry the computer I am getting is a Dell 17 inch laptop. I will have a modem that is wireless, as well for dial up I will have to plug it in. I will need to learn Vista, and that may be a challenge. I will let you know when it arrives!. Enjoy your trip and journey mercies are being prayed for.
I have been waiting for the phone calls and the word that my last 2 puppies have homes. Today I received 3 phone calls all of which are serious calls, wanting a pup. If I had more I know I could sell them at this point. "It never rains but it pours!" One person will have to wait till next year if they want one of my spaniels!
Last night was a wild night. The new dog started woofing at about 4:00. I came down and let him out, and let the puppies out as well. Back to bed. He started again 15 minutes later, back out and in. This kept up for the balance of the morning till 8:00. They all wanted out, the sump pump was running without shutting off, they were hungry (very unusual), I am also wondering if there was another animal outside, upsetting the normal cycle. It is common that they start at 8:00 in the morning, and that is a good wake up call for all of us. The girls spelled me with the dogs, to try and keep things quiet for mother. She didn't hear a thing so that tells you how quickly we jumped to the barking.
Got to go, I continue to pray fo the needs represented here.
I have been having computer problems, unable to get online for a couple of days. Darrel wiggled all the wires, maybe that did it, anyway, I'm back!
Darrel's procedure was anything but fun. >:( First, he told the nurse not to put the IV in his hand; she did it anyway, blew the vein, and he passed out! So she had to put in his other arm; then there were interminable delays, and after the procedure, he couldn't pass gas, then had some blood. That scared the doctor, so he called the X-ray people back (they had gone home for the day by then) to X-ray Darrel. They were afraid they had perforated his bowel, but thank God, that hadn't happened.
The doctor doesn't live here, and was wanting to go home, so he had Darrel admitted to the hospital overnight. Anyway, what they told us would be a simple procedure requiring not more than 2 hours turned into a 22 hour ordeal. They asked me how long since I'd had that done, I said NEVER, and they said "you're next!" I told them they were NOT making me want to have it done!
Anyway.........it's over with and they found nothing wrong. That's the main thing.
Sorry, TMI, I know........ :-[ I'm going now.........
Oh Janet what an ordeal. I have had a colonoscopy and it was no walk in the park. I undeerstand what he has gone through. Let him know I am praying.
Our little girl is gone. Good home, wher the owner has the ability to take her to work with her and she will be doted on.
The little boy will be gone tomorrow.
This has been a long day, I am tired and as is often the way, things go wrong when tired. So I am off to bed early and I will be back tomorrow.
Night all
I just found out that I have 3 canaries coming. In Ontario there is a web site that is called freecycle. In North Bay it is called FreecycleNorthBay. There is a group in many towns. With this freecycle if anyone has something to get rid of they post the item and those who need can get the item. Heather has got an organ as well as an upright piano. The piano is what the girls use to learn to play. Well today 3 canaries were offered, so Heather responded for me and I have them coming tomorrow! No cats, so the birds will be safe!
Got to go, God bless everyone

I had a blood draw at 8am this morning. That's early for this retired person! But I got there and they got my blood pretty easy this time. So then I went out to eat breakfast and was home by 9:30am.
Now I am doing some laundry.
Brrrrr! It is cold outside today. The wind is fierce...just cuts right to the bone. The sun is shining right now but it is 47° and suppose to rain this afternoon. The only place I need to go the rest of the day is to go to the mailbox and get my mail and paper....then to Ivalou's. A lady just called me and said she has reservations for Dec 7 for a Cabaret and Ivalou and I need to send her checks to pay for our part. So will get the check and mail it tomorrow.
Colonoscopies! I have had two without anesthetic. The last time I was out so I didn't know anything. So sorry that Darrell had to stay overnight. But best to be careful than to send him home and have to have emergency come for him.
Did anyone else get the email of Nancy Pedersen's death, Pinkie, on October 22nd? Let's all say a prayer for her family."++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++"
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2FLfct.gif&hash=3509c05c07e08a4d90c5292b6b6ebf865aa54ab9)
No I didn't receive an email re Pinkie. I am praying for her family especially her son.
Not much new here today. No work, I am going to take my car to the muffler shop for an estimate in a little bit. Doing some laundry, didn't sleep well woke up at 2:30 couldn't go back to sleep. Going to the Caregiver's appreciation banquet tonight. Work tomorow for 2 hours doing some light housekeeping for a lady. I sure need more than 2 hours, but every little bit helps.
Oh Father, I pray for Nancy's family just now. I pray that her homegoing will somehow be the thing that points them to Jesus' everlasting salvation if they don't yet know You, and I pray that if they do (or when they do) You will enable them to give You thanks for Pinkie's life.
I also pray for work for Marilyn, Father. Oh send her just the right client quidkly now, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen to Al's prayer .... Thanks, Etta Sue, for the info on Pinkie.
Well I have my 2 not 3 canaries. Mom loves them especially as they were free. They are beautiful birds.
Got to leave in about 1/2 hour to meet a lady about taking a puppy. Little Jack is the last to go and I must say I think he is and has been the cutest. I would keep him, but I have too many dogs as it is. I think out farm should be called Judy's Dog Rescue!!
Marilyn praying about your work situation.
Amen on the prayer Bro. Al Also I havn't heard anything about Pinkie. Don't know if pat knows either. I will tell her when I speak to her next.
We got home about 1/2 hour ago and walked into a mess. Dexter has taken the garbage and strewn it across the kitchen floor. What a mess to clean up. Next time we go out he will be kenneled Can't have that
We have a beautiful day here, sunny warm and just lightweight jacket weather. We put the furnace on yesterday and wound up sweltering all day as a result. Something needs to be done to regulate the heat, not sure what.
Well got to leave to meet my lady, If he goes I will be pleased, as they are an older retired couple and it will be a good fit.
bye for now
JudyB
Hello to all from Virginia.
So nice to be able to check in but not happy to hear the news of our dear Pinkie (Nancy).
The weather here has been rainy for a few days but the rain was so needed here. We went into Washington, DC the other night and it was so lovely to see all of the famous buildings that I've only seen on the TV up until now. I tried taking some photos but some of my settings had been changed so none of my photos worked! :(
I will be leaving to come home soon so will be able to catch up with you all from Guelph.
Pat: It is good to see you posting.
Judy: With your new laptop the Vista program is different but not difficult to learn. As the windows programs change they are sometimes not compatable with the programs you would like to download ie, office, printer and some of the others. the office and printer are the main ones, that I had problems with.
Also freecycle is a fun site, that is where Sue got here most beautiful dog. She has also given things away as well, because her location is more central I have given here some items to give away, ie. ink cartridges for an old printer.
I will be remembering Pinkie's family at this time.
We had a day of sun - I went to a local apple orchard for courtland apples needless I am glad that I made the trip as the weeks of the orchards remaining open are nearing an end.
Morning comes early see ya all tomorrow. Ruth
Hi everyone. It has been a very busy day here with another birthday celebration and playing dominos most of the afternoon. This evening I got my SIL's computer on DSL High Speed and certainly enjoying it. She is so tired from the day that she doesn't want to work on the computer tonight so it gave me a chance to get caught up on my e-mail.
I will have to go back over the postings as missed the information on Pinkie.
Janet, what an ordeal you all went through. I think I mentioned that Pat had that done earlier in the month and it was without incident and we left for home within two hours.
Etta Sue, certainly good news on your throat. Early detection is so important.
Pat, good to see you posting and have a good safe trip home.
Judy, it sounds like it is a good thing you live on an acreage or farm with the love of animals you all have. Glad you are having good results with the puppies. Your new laptop sounds wonderful. Just too bad you can't get high speed where you are. I don't think you will experience any problem with the Vista from what I have seen.
Marilyn, hope more work comes along soon.
I know I haven't posted to everyone but am worn out from the day so will just say goodnight.
Hi Folks.
Ruth I am getting a printer already installed. Also I have a friend up here who can teach me what I don't know. It is a good program from what pastor Dennis has said.
Yes Larry I am excited. I can get High speed here, only it isn't high speed as is commonly known I don't think. It is satellite high speed. I would have to pay $150 for the company to test and see if it is available and activae it, then it will cost $50 a month to use it. A little steep, I just can't justify it.
Pat it is good to "see" you! Hope you are enjoying your trip!
I am heading to bed
I have a good Ted Deckker book to read so I am off
God bless everyone.
Love JudyB
I have just recieved a e mail and heard the sad news of our friend Nancy. I will always remember the night Nancy phoned all the way from the USA to offer me support. We have lost a friend heaven has gained an angel. Evertime I click that camera Nancy will never be far from my thoughts.
C-C-C-C-cold morning. Heavy frost on the ground. But it is oh so pretty to look at the sparkle of the sun shining through the individual blades of grass.
John called last night with some great news. His work schedule is changing. The company has some "Canada only" work that is going to some dedicated drivers. John is to be one of those drivers. Also Catterpillar diesel was into his company and they were discussing how the engines were working on the trucks. The safety manager pulled out the computer printout of JOhn's truck and showed the cat man. After examining it for a while he turned to the safety manager and told him it was rare to have that good of a print out. Kudos for John. We all know he is good!
About Nancy. She has graduated to heaven. I long for the day I can join her. In the meantine there is work to do here, selling true fire insurance, and peace for the heart.
Marilyn are there seniors apartments close to where you live? Have you ever advertised on a buketin board in the apartments? Perhaps you could get work that way, even if you had a couple of clients that were not every day but with numbers could you fill in the time slots?
Well I have school work to get done, and girls to teach.
God bless
JudyB
I have an interview at 12:30 this afternoon with the Case Manager for the lady with ALS (Lou Gehrig's) then I will go meet the family do it is like a double interview. The job will be 6 hours per week as working with a patient with ALS is very emotionally draining. So if this is the door God is opening I will go through if it is not then he has something else for me.
Yes Judy I do advertise but most of my work comes for the Registry and the Home Health nurses, my referral speak for themselves where my abilities and compassion is concerned. I have excellent references from former patients/clients as well.
It is 41° here this morning and I am cold.

This is what was received from Nancy's (Pinkie) sister, Deborah.QuoteHello all, well it is with a heavy heart that I tell you that Nancy, my sister went to be with her Lord on Monday, Oct. 22. Many of you have heard already, but we didn't want to leave anyone out so we cut and pasted her address books from her computer. She fought a brave fight with cancer and the Lord granted her miraculous long days filled with love and laughter and lots of memories that we, her family will cherish. We will miss her terribly and so we covet your prayers as our hearts heal....Thank you so much for all of the outpourings of love! She so appreciated all of your cards, visits and kind words. I am
convinced that she is enjoying Heaven, looking down on us and smiling! Love in our Lord,
Deb Kelley & David LeDeaux
I was up earlier than normal but just now getting to the computer. Busy morning. Funny, I walk 20 minutes in my house...I have a figure 8 and that helps...and I find all kinds of things that need done. So today I did those things before sitting at the pc.
When I was gluing Mom cosmetic jewelry on a wooden tray a week or so ago, I found about 10 pins that Mom and Dad had when they belonged to the American Motorcycle Association. They are dated '43 through '54. I am giving them to Tony and there is even a pair of earrings...screw on but can be changed to pierced really easy! I cleaned them this morning and they really sparkle. Also moved the jewelry collage to the hallway where people can look at it close up.
Nice and sunny in Indiana today. Warmer...59°! I should go and 'mow' the leaves but there are still many on my trees so I might as well wait!
Ivalou called. She had been having problems with her satellite dish and the tv being pixelated. The tech came this morning. Seems the satellite dish should be 98 when checked and hers was 67. So the wind has moved her dish. Now if it still is pixelated she is to call the man and he will replace her receiver. Now she is set for winter and watching TV when it is too cold to be out and about!
Rambling.......MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Hello folks:
It is a sunny day but later this afternoon we are to get rain and I think it is to continue into tomorrow as well. This is the begining of craft show season and yes there are 2 tomorrow perhaps I will be able to dodge the rain drops.
Mel is away getting our veh. serviced the winter stuff etc. and soon he should be ariving home as it is nearing time to leave for work. In the mean time I will quickly get some dusting done and think what dinner will be this evening perhaps open the frig. and use leftovers sounds good to me.
Judy: I guess your frost will be coming our way in a day or so.
Have a great day, Ruth
Ruth we have a sparkling day. No rain nor does there seem to be any expected. So I hope you get our weather tomorrow that we have today. Enjoy the craft shows. We had one last week, but the entrance fee and the cost of items has rocketed in the last couple of years so I don't bother going any more. But You enjoy!
The radio station is already advertising their Christmas concert. It is still October! Mind you the concert is the 3rd week of November. I think there will be one in North Bay as well. Talking about Christmas We will have our Christmas dinner at the church the first weekend of December. Hard to believe Christmas will soon be here!
Well I have to keep going here, be back later.
JudyB
I'm still having computer problems; have been working with it all morning. I was finally able to access my email through www.mail2web.com, but after I get finished reading and deleting it, I don't know if that will clear the problem.
So if you have emailed me and I haven't responded, that's the reason. That is also the way I got in here, talk about through the back door!
So sorry to hear about Pinkie.
I must keep on reading and deleting, still about 100 to go
!
sorry to hear of your Computer problems Janet. Been there, done that, and threw the hat away!!
Just was reminded that we have 2 friends coming for the weekend, a fishing weekend. They will be camping out in a camper or trailler. I don't think I could do that! It isn't below 0*C but cold enough that I would.
We are going out cutting wood again on Monday. Jon and Heather will be coming for the day to help. THat is one thing about Heather's hubby, he enjoys getting wood in for the winter, and if there is splitting to do he enjoys that.
Well Must go Kass has prepared dinner for tonight, it's ready so time to eat.
Bye for now.
Thank you al for your prayers, I got the job and it will be 2-3 days per week 6 hours per day. I will have the morning shift, bathing, feed her through the feeding tube and other personal care. I won't have to do any lifting as they have a Hoyer hydraulic lift.
Good Night.
So, Marilyn, we should thank Him for answered prayer. Then we should go on and pray that He will bless you in that work. It's not easy work, but you can definitely serve our Lord in doing it. So I pray He'll bless you in it through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Praise and prayer going up Marilyn.
Well the fordact changed for usthe "K" was saying a good weekend, then it changed to a wet one. Yes Ruth wull have rain.
John will be home at some time today, and 2 friends from the south are coming to fish...in the rain. I have heard fishing in the rain can be good. I wonder Pastor Al if there is a spiritual parallel to that?
I am off
Have a good day everyone.
One thing that really stood out when the Case Manager was interviewing me was that I am not to talk abut Salvation or any thing like that to this woman. She specifically requested that they not hire anyone who was going to try to "save" her. It is going to be a great challenge to me not to talk about Jesus. Or to say words like "Thank you Jesus, Hallelujah, Praise the Lord. Especially not to pray for her. This job is going to challenge me psychologically as well as physically.
Hi everyone. It has been a hectic two weeks even though I have not been working very much and had a lot of time to do nothing.
You all know that my Hospice patient passed two weeks ago, His memorial gathering is today.
Yesterday I met a new patient who has ALS (Lou Gehrig's) she has had it for two years and is pretty far gone. They hired me for the morning shift so I will be taking care of all her personal needs such as bathing, bowel and bladder care, dressing her, using the Hoyer hydraulic lift to get her out of bed into her shower chair and her wheel chair, She can not speak and uses a computer device to speak. There is a little silver dot on er forehead that she uses to point to the letters on a modified keyboard in front of her that spells out the words then speaks them.
I will work 2-3 days per week 6 hours per day. She has no movement of any of he muscles from the neck down, is on a feeding tube, a suction device etc.
if you have ever heard of Stephen Hawking he also has ALS
This is going to be a great challenge both psychologically and physically for me. The case manager told me that she is very close to being on Hospice. She even has a casket made from a tree near where they used to have their organic farm in the southern part of Humboldt county. The casket is sitting in her room with a sheet over it. She is having a home funeral and will not be embalmed (the old fashioned way).
Please pray for me I have a meeting with my Pastors and one of the board members today about a very personal matter. My payer that this matter will be solved God's way and not man's way.
Marilyn
Good morning! Praise God, I THINK I have my computer problem solved, at least for now. What a relief. I know I spend too much time on this machine, but it is the link to many people I have no contact with otherwise.
My son-in-law has invited me to go to Florida with them in April. They have promised Abby for a long time now to take her to Disney World, and would like to take me along. When they took the boys years ago, I went, too, and we had so much fun. Darrel was invited, too, but he doesn't think he wants to go.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday, and soon our "missing" folks, Pat and Larry, will be home. Glad they could go away for a while, but I know they will be happy to be back home. There's no place like home, as Dorothy said. ;)
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBellyDancer.gif&hash=9450ec53f8a2c3562565e967c5274d249d7a4f33)
Good morning.
Praises go to God in Marilyn finding work. It does sound like a taxing job but we all know you can handle it!
I have been invited to Kaye Don's this evening for a fish fry and pitch-in. Kaye Don and grandson, Adam, went fishing one day this week and they must have gotten a lot of fish!! He said the whole family will be there. Now I have to find something to pitch-in!!
Tomorrow the photography guild is having a Fall pitch-in at Mounds State Park in Anderson, Indiana. I just got through baking an Apple Crisp for that. The house smells sooooo good right now. Makes me hungry!
Another rainy, dark and gloomy day for Indiana. About half the leaves are off the trees. 54°. Not too bad temperature wise. SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2FRyst.gif&hash=013a11cd2a1d621307d09889b9862c71d2d324cb)
Etta Sue I am not so sure I canhandle it but I won't know until I try. I just know that Jesus will be my hands and my eyes.
The memorial gathering for Cliff was so nice. There was more food than there were people but the place was packed. The meeting with my Pastors seemed to go alright. It is still a subject that needs lots of prayer as we will wait on God for his decision.
Where is everyone today. Is Carol still travling. Liz, Jane where are you? I see Karma stopped by today, Hi Karma.
Hi Everyone!
Just thought I'd say "Hi" from Virginia. My friend has let me use the computer so thought I'd just say "Hello" and let you know that I've had a lovely week and will be setting off to go home on Monday getting home maybe sometime Tuesday.
Talk to you soon.
Well, it's pretty thick, low-lying fog to begin the day today. I pray, not only for ourselves, but for all of you that we'll see clearly and spiritually, and that we'll hear our Lord speaking to each of us.
Foggy here too, AL. I think I can already see it beginning to lift, though. It is going to be another wonderful day in the Lord! :D
Good to see Pat checking in from Virginia. Enjoy your time away, but hurry back, okay? ;)
I have been reading, and praying, here every day, Marilyn. I just don't have anything interesting to add. My life is pretty much the same day in and day out. Not much to tell. Maybe that's a good thing, y'think? ;)
Hi, all. I haven't been posting, but have been reading and praying as asked.
Yes, as Jane said, the fog has lifted and it's a gloriously sunny day. It feels cold to me, but I haven't gone outside yet either.
We have bad news in our family. My sister, Faye, has been diagnosed with uterine cancer. Her gynecologist said it's a rare form, and is sending her to Eugene to another doctor, Oncologist I assume, and she'll have a hysterectomy as soon as she gets her appointment. Faye is a researcher, loves searching things out for answers. She told me she isn't doing that this time. She said the report is filled with lots of medical terms, but she is keeping her mind centered on her faith in Christ. I'd just like to ask for prayer for her and her family. She is the strong one in our family. She's the one who led our brother, when he was dying, to the Lord. I'm not ready for her to be gone from this earth. :( I'm believing they will find it to be early in the disease and they'll get it all.
Hi Nita I ampraying for Fay and will put her on the prayer list at my church.
Ruth (my former client/patient) passed away yesterday at 3PM.
It is such a beautiful day, I have had the dogs out for their walks and been to church. Not much else is new here. Or maybe I just don't have anything to say at this time.
Hi Pat good of you to look in on us.
Hi Jane I am coming over to the corner to sit and observe with you unitl I have somethign more to say.

The get together at Kaye Don's was superb! There were 31 people there! Lots of hugs and kisses from nieces and nephews and their girl-friends!
Church today was awesome. God is good...all the time. All the time...God is good. We probably repeated those statements a dozen times but statements like that...who's counting?
Then I called Kitty and told her I was leaving Greenfield. Her husband went with us to the Photo Guild pitch-in. I think I walked 5 miles on the trails at Mounds State Park in Anderson. We walked some before eating and then we had three presentations...one on the Slots in Arizona, one on Rome, Italy and the other just highlights of his photos. Great presentations. Then we walked again.
Kitty and Bob gave me a paper grocery sack full of green tomatoes. Tomorrow I will grind them and put 2 cups of pulp in freezer bags. Then when I want to make Green Tomato Pie I have the pulp all ready to thaw and make the pies.
Now I am home, ready to put my feet up and relax. Did I say it was a superb day for walking in the woods? Bright and sunny. A little nippy but just sweat shirt weather. Great day for being in the woods./\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Aaawww NITA :'( What a shock to learn of Faye's diagnosis. I, most certainly, am with you in praying they find it to be in the early stages and are able to remove all traces of it. I know how you must be feeling. I love you, Bestest. <3 :-* <3
Yup, Marilyn ... there's always room for one more over here in the corner. Seems as you are going through a lot lately, yourself ... :( BUT our God is an awesome God and He, for sure, knows what's best for us all! <3
Nita, I'm praying for Faye, too.
I've been reading, just not feeling chatty today. Looking in to see if everyone is doing okay.
Etta Sue: Green Tomato Pie that is a new one to me. You will have to tell me how it is made.
I will be praying for Faye as well it is such a shock to get that kind of news.
We had rain showers saturday before it turned cold and that is how it has remained. I was also told that to the northwest of us they had snow perhaps 2 inches I hope it stays there.
Baseball is on TV so I will be off to see how it goes. Have a great evening.
Ruth
We are home & I have been washing clothes, shopping for groceries and have a mild fever from something bronchial that I picked up 5 days ago. Taking it easy. Gosh, our luggage was so filthy that we didn't even bring it in the house. Weather forecast one day in London was Dull and Cloudy :D - we did have good weather all over the place, Scotland was Bonnie!!! Berlin got very cold and Prague was as well - in Sweden, our cabin was being closed the following day after we left. We had to clean the cabin before leaving and I guess passed the critical eye of the owner, as she wants us back.
Nita: So sorry to read the last few notes and see that your sister has a trial in health coming up.
Etta Sue - we flew over Indy & I thought of you ----Janet - flew over Kansas as well & waved. There are some spots out there without lights around, thank goodness.
The Rockies are playing in the World Series. I don't know how many of you know this but they are full of evangelical Christians on that team. It is too tense for me to watch - my fever just might go up.
Gotta go, they are screaming, I mean the fans. While we were gone, one son lost a very new job & everyone is in shock. He had been quite upset with this bosses style of screaming and other very odd things - now, this is a time of the year that is so difficult as well as so many are out looking. Another son is in New York City and they have tickets to the Letterman show on Monday night, he will be wearing a Rockies shirt.
Hey to all - the Swedes say Hey, not Hi. Carol
