Morning Devotional...

Truth that Seeks Lost People

Verse

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost. Luke 19:10

Our Lord said, I am the Truth, and again He said, The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Truth therefore is not hard to find for the very reason that it is seeking us. Truth is not a thing for which we must search, but a Person to whom we must hearken. This is taught or taken for granted in the record of Gods dealings with men throughout the Sacred Scriptures. After the sin in Eden it was not Adam who cried O God, where art Thou? but God who cried Where art thou? as He sought for Adam among the trees of the Garden. Abraham heard God speak and responded, but it was God who was the aggressor. God appeared unto Jacob before Jacob came to appear before God. And in the burning bush God revealed Himself to Moses. Again and again did God take the initiative. He sought for Gideon and found him on the threshing floor of Ophrah. He showed Himself to Isaiah when there is no evidence that Isaiah was seeking Him. Before Jeremiah was born God laid His hand upon him, and He opened heaven to let the discouraged priest Ezekiel see a vision and hear a voice. Amos said he was not a prophet neither a prophets son, but the Lord took him as he followed the flock. Again God was the aggressor. In the New Testament things are not otherwise. True, multitudes came to Christ for physical help, but only rarely did one seek Him out to learn the truth; and even that rare one usually turned away when the truth was told him. The whole picture in the Gospels is one of a seeking Savior, not one of seeking men. The truth was hunting for those who would receive it, and relatively few did. Many are called, but few are chosen.

Thought

Christ is the Truth. He is also the seeker of lost people. Long before we ever sought truth, Truth was seeking us.

Prayer

Before I ever reached out to You, You were reaching out to me. All praise to You, Im found!

Great thoughts to start our week with the Lord, Don!  Thanks so much.  How grateful I am that the Lord of the universe, the maker of heaven and earth, should care for and seek me!  This points to the fact that no one is insignificant, if our almighty God cares enough to seek US!  Oh, Glory!

I drover over to Moscow last evening to "entertain" the little great-grand-girls while their parents knocked down plaster in their living room.  A big portion of the ceiling plaster fell off, so it was a have-to case, and if you have experience with removing plaster and lath, you know what a messy, hard, dirty job it is!  Phew.  I have done a lot of that in my life, and it never was fun!  They wanted me to keep the baby awake so she would sleep last night.  She had other ideas, but we did well, and of course, just being with those little sweethearts is a reward in itself.  Sure a lot more fun than what their parents were doing!  The plan is for them to bring the girls by today on their way to Garden to buy drywall and lights, so I will get to enjoy them some more.

I'm up way too early, and my eyes are burning.  I think I will try to take a little nap in my chair.

Thanks you, Don, for a great way to start the day and the week.  How blessed it is to realize that Jesus is seeking me and will find me whatever the circumstances.

Hi everyone.  Another overcast day and suppose to be cooler today and pretty chilly tonight.  Since it is Sunday I slept in until 8:30 and now finishing my breakfast.  I just had an email from my very good friend, Rod, saying he and his wife in their car on the way to a Halloween party with their Sunday School class last evening when they were hit by a deer.  Fortunately, they seem to be all right but their car was severely damaged.  After church today they are having a community fall festival in the big parking lot.  It sounds like it will be windy and a bit chilly for it but hope it turns out well.  Pat is not feeling up to attending church this morning so I plan on leaving early and going to Walmart to pick up an items we ordered for Stacey and also to try to get what is needed for the Christmas Child box as I am running out of time.

Jeanne, it is sad that cable companies have such poorly trained service representatives.  I think they have to follow a script and get certain point covered.  I went through similar frustrations last week dealing with ATT.  Hope that is over for awhile.  However, did seem to get good service at the ATT cellphone store locally.  The lady appeared very knowledgeable.

Janet, I bet you had a great time with the two little great grandchildren although probably a tiring one as those little ones have so much energy.  Pat has a cousin who used to work for QVC and dealt with the dolls.  She told us she had standing customers who purchased every doll that was introducted.  Pat also worked with a lady in Maryland who collected dolls and had them everywhere in her house.  The problem with collecting things is that we grow old and then have to dispose of them.

Etta Sue, glad your botox went better this time.  So glad the treatments are helpful to you.  Hope you enjoyed the train ride.

Ruth Ann, thank you for the nice compliment on computer knowledge but don't know whether it is deserved.  I have just been doing this a long time and have a very good friend who is indeed an expert but whose interest is waining as he approaches the end of his 70s.

Don, thanks for the new devotional thought.

Don:  Your devotions for this week are much appreciated.  May we know when we are called.

Another great sermon today and this was on First Fruits.  Timely as they packed almost 2,000 boxes for troops.  The high school students came to rescue and they have so much energy.

We decided to visit a different church this morning.  I surely did enjoy the music!  We have been really unhappy with the music (??) at our church for quite a while now.  It was so good to sing some of the old, familiar hymns again.

And the little ones just about wore this grandma out!  The two older ones each wanted the same toy, so squabbled quite a bit.  The two year old still isn't over her cold and wasn't feeling good, and she's usually a little ray of sunshine.  And the baby cried and cried and cried!!  I'd just get her to sleep and one of the older ones would scream and wake her up....tiring afternoon!  I'm glad to have the house quiet again.  I will try to spend more time with them when the colds are over with, poor babies.

I'm really tired, so think I will go to bed and read a while.  Good night!  :)

I am in the bedroom reading while Don is engrossed in another Bronco outstanding game.  I do look at some sports a little and mostly hockey - what I call gentle and mannerly hockey.  Watching our grandson's team is so much fun as they are very mannerly almost 100% of the time.  I always told my boys if anyone jabs you, just walk away and do not say anything.

Janet:  We had great music this morning and they kept it to 20 minutes, not the 30 minutes of jazz we had two weeks ago which almost unglued Don's hearing.  Thanks be!  I hope they are back to what we normally have - we all laughed when pastor kept repeating the same message in about 5 or 6 different ways and then he said he was sounding redundant.  Don had fun poked at him too when the usher he always asks for finds the special hearing aid said that today it was going to be in Greek as pastor was quoting in Greek.  I started to mention that the little children are such joys to be around and exhausting as well - we forget.  Great that you are close to be near the little ones often.

Thanks, Sarah.  My, you have had such a busy life for a long time now, and you are still so young!  God bless you and little Ruth.  Always good to see a post from you.

I don't really have any "have-tos" today, but want to get another story if possible.  I'd like to stay about four weeks ahead, to give me some breathing room.  I'm almost done with all the ones at The Legacy that I have permission to interview; I think I only lack the younger ones:  Gloria, Myrna and Beth.  They have gotten a few new residents, don't know if admin. has contacted the families about the stories.  But I want to go over to Assisted Living (Park View) and interview those folks, too.  A couple of them I know are nearing the century mark!

I hope little Chelsea feels better today.  I think the reason baby Jenna wasn't so happy is that she is used to sleeping in her little swing, and missed that motion. It would have been easier all around, I guess, if I'd just gone over there and stayed with them.  Mark (other grandson of that family) came just as I got there with the girls, to help Curtis.  He's a good brother!  They were really going at it, and had a big pile of the laths down already when I left.  They need to get done so they don't all have to breathe all that awful dust/dirt.  Ugh.  Even though they had all doorways covered with plastic, that fine dust gets everywhere.  Okay, I know....TMI...sorry.  :-X

Looks like a lovely day is shaping up here in my corner of Kansas!

Hi everyone.  I am sitting here in my easychair watching the news about the Hurricane.  I sure hope all of our friends here and on Seniors and Friends will be safe.  I did get my shopping for the child's Christmas box done yesterday morning before church.  After church I stopped at a buffet and filled the boxes for two orders to bring home.  We had enough left over for another full meal.  It is chilly here this morning and the furance is running, which feels good.  The main activities today are my men's luncheon and a meeting this evening.

Carol, a couple of years ago our choir did boxes for soldiers.  There is an emphasis this year on the Christmas Child gift boxes for the Samaritan's Purse.  I just finished getting our box ready to take back to the church where they are being collected.  I see that the Broncos had a good win yesterday.  So did the Atlanta Falcons, who are unbeaten so far this season.

Sarah, it sounds like you have a very busy schedule.

Janet, nice you enjoyed the new church service.  The little ones are great to be around but also great when you can get away to some peace and quiet.  Guess that is why we have our children when we are younger.  Unfortunately there are many grandparents or great grandparents having to raise young children because the parents are not on the scene.  I am surprised that you have to get permission from the families before interviewing the folks in the home.

Just for information (and a plea for prayer) - Sandy is on the way, wind is picking up and we may lose power for several days.  If you notice I'm not around for a while, don't panic, just pray my electricity gets restored quickly.

I took my 3 Samaritan Boxes yesterday to church along with a box of crackers for the Meal on Us which is this Tuesday evening.

Today I went to the pool and then stopped at Taco Bell and Dollar General in Noblesville.  The light in my fridge went out.  I got a bulb at Lapel Dollar General the other day...it didn't work. I figured it was something wrong in the fridge but I purchased another bulb and now I have light in my fridge again!!  It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Now I am doing some laundry.  I just saw Ivalou's DIL drive in her drive.  Ivalou has an appointment at noon tomorrow to have the dressing changed on her shoulder.  If the doctor/nurse says it is okay to go to Ohio, Jo is taking her with her to Jo's house.  I don't know what will happen if the doctor says no.  Nothing has been said about that.  I will help if needed...that's for sure.  But it is relief to know I haven't been needed this time around.

And if Ivalou goes to Ohio, I took an Indiana map, turned it around and around and pointed.  So Wednesday morning I am going to Benton County!!  According to AAA, there is nothing there but Wind Farms.  That might be interesting to see them and read about them.  It also isn't very far from Fair Oaks Farm where there are over 27,000 dairy cows and a rotating carousel that allows 72 cows to be milked at once.  I have been there before and it was fun.  I got to see 2 calves being born!

But I won't know what I am doing until Ivalou goes to the doctor.

Jeanne I am so glad you've checked in I was worried about you and this storm.

I've a a productive morning, right after breakfast I baked a carrot cake  then frosted the cake and did some vacuuming after I got back from the gym. then I headed out again to my yoga class that I haven't been able to go to because of that awful vertigo that I had for 7 months, I just noticed a few days ago that it was finally gone,. It left my body feeling so good after all that stretching.

Jeanne Karma and Nards are all in the line of fire so to speak.  We are getting the high winds and freezing rain, sleet, snow up here. Was speaking to Pat earlier, she is fine.

Well, I'm still here.  The wind and rain turned out to be not quite as bad as predicted, although we still have high wind warnings this morning.  So I'm fine - at least for the present.  Praise the Lord.

But we still need to keep Karma and Nards, as well as Judy and Pat in our prayers as they deal with a totally different weather problem.

Hi everyone.  Since this is not a coffee morning I could sleep in a little longer and did.  It is another overcast day.  Yesterday we did see broken clouds and a little sun, which was nice but the wind was a factor and is again this morning.  The pictures from NYC and other places in the NE are pretty alarming.  What a mess they have to get things cleaned up and working again.  However, I just heard the worst is over in the city.  I have a meeting to attend later this morning and then at 1 pm I am meeting with three people to show them what is involved in doing the database and preparing the reports for the Golden Games.  I have decided the time has come to give that work up and a lady has volunteered to take on the duties.  That will be enough for one day.

Jeanne, sure hope your power has stayed on and the same for Karma and Nards.  Jeanne, glad to see you are OK as of this morning.

Etta Sue, I had enough trouble filling one box for the Christmas Child project and can't image three although guess I would just buy three units of each item.  The box I filled is all ready to go to the church tomorrow.  I can't image miling 27,000 cows.  We had 20 on our farm and it always took us about an hour.

Marilyn, glad the vertigo is gone now and that you were able to resume your yoga exercises.  The carrot cake sounds good.

I also have family in NC and in SC as well. My son RON lives in NC but right now he is in Nebraska working on one of their Nuclear Power Plants (That's what he does) His company sent hm there for 6 weeks, So I know he is concerned for his wife and FIL. Kim with the new baby, is in SC. She called me yesterday and said the storm missed them in Lexington. I guess i will just have to wait until I see my DIL and another grand daughter in NC on Facebook to know if they are OK too.

It does sound as though the storm wasn't nearly as catastrophic as predicted, and I'm sure everyone is thankful for that.  However, after dealing with what, by comparison, was very minor flooding in our house, I can only imagine the hard work and expense following something like this.

Oh, these robo calls!  They are driving me nuts!  Yesterday I stopped by to visit my elderly friend Maxine.  My cell phone rang, some gal was saying they wanted to give me $100 in something, a $10 Walmart gift card, etc. etc, and could I get to my computer now?  I said, "NO, I'm not even at home now."  Answer--"No problem!  Just open up your web browser on your phone and I can walk you through it!"  When I said I do not have a web browser on my phone, she told me to have a nice day, and hung up.  SHEESH.  I don't need the aggravation!

I need to call my sister now.  Then I will go to The Legacy and help with a holiday dinner and eat with Beth.  Then afternoon appointments.  Go, go, go.....

I got one of those annoying calls this morning, too.  I don't remember having so many before but it seems several times a day I get unknown calls and if I see it, I don't answer.  This morning I answered.  It was a person asking me if I would take a survey poll about Democrat Blah and Republican Blah Blah?  I told her 'No and that it was none of her business.  I have already voted so you may find out next week instead of annoying people to maybe think what the outcome will be.  And take my name and number off your calling list!'  She said she will...ha ha!

And also it is the time of the year for the police to ask for money.  I will give the same as last year...zilch!

Those type calls really rankle me!  One of my pet peeves!  They are interrupting my time!  I don't do much but still!  Let me call you back when you are busy!

And I was busy...making cookies!

Ivalou is off to the doctor.  If she can't go to Ohio, she is to call me since I may not know she is home alone.  I have no idea what she will need help with but I am not worried until I have something to worry about.  I am sure she is going to Jo's house.

And Larry, I only filled one shoebox.  Kitty filled one for a girl and one for a boy.  She loves buying for kids so she asked me for two boxes.  And they milk those 27,000 cows three times a day on a carousel that milks 72 cows at once!!

I hope everyone has their electricity back by Tuesday so they can go vote!!!  If it isn't on, I wonder if they have the old ballots with the hanging chads!  Obama will call for an extension on voting day if those without electricity can't vote!! (my opinion...I didn't hear that on TV)

I don't know if I am going on a day trip tomorrow or yet.  If I do, I won't be back online until Thursday!

Today it terribly windy, rainy and just down right gloomy!  The WeatherBug on Droid even says freezing rain!  I haven't been outside yet!

I'm with you, Etta Sue!  And I got another call exactly like yesterday's while feeding Beth her lunch.  Grrr.  LEAVE ME ALONE!!  If I want to talk to you, I will make the call.

I have had a tooth/jaw/throat/headache, so went to the dentist.  He says I have something strange going on, gave me two weeks worth of penicillin and says he will probably be sending me to an oral surgeon.  I have two areas that "trouble" him.  Drat.  Not fun.

Since I feel pretty lousy, I am going to get my soft blanket and lie down in my chair, read until my eyes won't stay open any more and then ZZZZZZZZZZZZ.  8)

Hi everyone.  It is still dark outside it is chilly 45 degrees.  The session yesterday with the lady who is taking over the database work for the Golden Games went very well.  I have another session that afternoon with the man who is going to take over the webmaster duties for the Games.  This morning, after coffee, Pat and I are planning on attending a special Stewardship session at church.  They have had a series of meetings and this is for those who are not comfortable driving at night.  This will be in place of the regular Bible study with the pastor.  They are providing some type of light meal to go with it.  Then we will probably go to the donut hour for a bit to visit with our friends.  That will be plenty for the day.  Yesterday evening Pat did go with her bookclub group to a resturant and enjoyed getting out.

Marilyn, sure hope your family in NC and SC are ok from the storm.

Janet, It appears to me that the hurricane was terribly devastating in many areas and that terrible fire in Breezy Point.  I can't even begin to get my mind around where you would start in a clean up job especially for older people with handicaps.  I suggest you not even bother to talk to people who call that way.  I immediately cut them off and hang up.  It is a numbers game with them.

Etta Sue, I understand only a tiny portion of the police donations ever get to them.  Better understand about your three shoeboxes of children's gifts.  Milking three times a day is even worse than having to do it two times a day.  I understand that they will have paper ballots available for voting but the problem may be how people can get to the polls or with all the problems they may be facing whether voting will be a priority.  The President has no authority to postpone the election for President.

Janet, hope you were able to sleep and are feeling better today.

I'm still waiting to hear from a cousin in Queens.  My son in New Jersey and my daughter in North Carolina and I myself came through with no problems at all.

I refuse to let those telemarketer/politicians/survey takers use up any of my cell phone minutes.  I just hang up on them.  And like Janet, twice a "hello" and a "good bye".  And it's nobody's business who I'm going to vote for.

Janet:  Praying for your results.

Jeanne: We have all been saying prayers for those affected by this gigantic storm.

Here, we usually have had a big snow storm by now and have only had dribs and drabs of snow.  It has been averaging about 10 degrees above normal that isn't what we expect at this time of the year at all.  I took a walk today and my legs were OK - some off and on problems and it is just plain weird - I do have a physical in December and want to make it until that month.  Anyway, the sun is shining and it is warm enough to sit outdoors and take walks without jackets.

Long day yesterday as I drove Don to the VA for a colonoscopy.  We had quite the time the previous night when his sugar level dropped so low but hot tea and a lot of sugar helped at that point - that was the fasting day and it isn't easy for a diabetic.  Otherwise, he never has a problem.  Unfortunately,  we now have to wait out a biopsy so there is that going on.

I made a chicken mexican salad and brought it to a neighbor's house last night.  She fixed a mexican dinner for our mutual friend undergoing chemo - he felt so-so last night but did eat well.  He just loved getting out of the house - such a dear man.  We walked home and I fell asleep before my head hit the pillow.

We are once more basking under sunny skies, with temps in the mid to high 70s!  While I praise God for it, I also pray for those dealing with the aftermath of the huge storms.  They need lots of strength and patience, just for starters.

I took Beth to the chiropractor this morning.  She wore her nun costume, had to show that to Dr. Saxon!  It really wears me out to take her anywhere by myself.  I had lots of errands to take care of, now am home again and ready for a little rest.

Carol, I pray Don's test comes back all okay!  Hugs to you!

See you fine folks later!

Hi everyone.  Another sunny and chilly morning here in the Atlanta area.  My calendar is clear this morning.  I am waiting for Pat to get up to see if she would like to go out to breakfast this morning.  I had a good meeting yesterday afternoon with the man who is going to become the new webmaster for the Golden Games.  Other than to be a backup person I think my responsibilites related to the Golden Games is over.  I have enjoyed it but not sorry to not have that responsibility anymore.  They certainly needed to have someone else trained.  We called our son and daughter-in-law to wish them a Happy Anniversary on their 20th.  They had been out to eat at what they said was the best resturant they had ever visisted.

Jeanne, hope you will be able to contact your cousin soon and that you and your children came through the storm well.  Unfortuately you get charged at least a minute (if your system works like ours used to) just by answering.  We really haven't had too many of those calls this year since the local elections have pretty well been decided.

Carol, I hadn't thought about the drop in sugar in fasting for the test.  However, it is a very important test and glad he had it done.  Hope you get some snow soon as know you need the moisture.

Janet, when taking Beth by yourself becomes too much have the courage to ask for help.  Others don't know you need help unless you ask.  You must take care of yourself first or you won't be able to help others.

Marilyn, glad it appears your daighter-in-law is OK.  Did you get any kids for Halloween.

Al, this was my morning where I get to sleep in a little later but am here now.

My little trip was fun.  I left a little after 8am.  After a breakfast at Bob Evans in Noblesville, I headed west and northwest to Benton County....Fowler, IN, is the county seat.  98 miles.  Some of it was interstate but mostly US and State highways.  As soon as I got into Benton County, I could see the wind turbines.  So many.  I didn't realize there were that many.  I stopped to take a picture and my SD card was in the SD card reader...at home!!  I found a Dollar General and bought a 4gb SD card so I was in business again.  I don't know why I didn't think to take a movie.  Those turbines standing still are not as impressive as they are moving!

I would love to know more about them but I couldn't find any Visitors Center or Information Center.  Couldn't even find a Pizza King.  My GPS said there were three of them and all three were closed!!  The town of Fowler doesn't even have a Walmart!!

So I headed back towards home...some country roads since I didn't want to come back the way I went.  I was home by a little after 3pm.

Today I am getting a haircut and then meeting Kitty for lunch.

I haven't heard from Ivalou since she called Monday afternoon saying she was at Jo's in Ohio.

Pat and I are both fine.  The winds were terrible, and the rain continues for me.  This is a different system coming from the USA west.Temperatures are at the icing mark however we have no accumulated snow yet.  I have to keep the wood fed into the furnace as this old (over 100 years) house cools down quickly.

I am so thankful Halloween is over, that is one day I really dislike.  Kids don't need that much candy.  I will stay off my soap box.

I'm asking for prayer for Elizabeth.  No details necessary God Knows.

The Lord put a hedge of protection around every member of my family!  All were surrounded by problems like black outs, snow, flooding, etc.  But each and every one - son, daughter and five cousins - were basically untouched.  Praise the Lord!

Hi everyone.  It looks like this will be a pretty quiet day. Just back from coffee at the Senior Center.  This is ROMEO's luncheon day at 11:30 and I will go to the Olive Garden for lunch with men from my church.  As far as I know that will be it for today.  We did go out for dinner last evening as we just didn't feel like cooking.  We were going to the Pancake House for one of their delicious hamburgers but when we got there we found they now close at 3 pm.  So we went to the Mexican restuarant next door and had a very good dinner.  It was even better because we had a coupon for a buy one-get one free dinner and it made it reasonable.

Etta Sue, the last time we visited my sister and BIL in northern Iowa we went on a tour of the surrounding area to see the Wind Turbines in their county and across the line in Minnesota.  They are really large.  The community college in their town of Esterville, Iowa teaches course related to the Wind Turbines and had one on the group that you could go up to.  It is much bigger than it looks from the ground as it is working.  It sounds like you had a nice day trip.

Judy, glad you didn't get damage from the hurricane related effects.  Sure hope you don't get icing.

Jeanne, did you get hold of your cousin in New York city?  The situation where they can't get gas and have no electricity sounds very dire.  There is also looting going on but we don't hear much about it on the main news channels.

Larry, the bias of the main stream media is just overwhelming!  If Americans were to be told the TRUTH of things, the election wouldn't even be close!  It is heartbreaking what the folks in the Northeast are enduring right now.  We just saw a report from Staten Island, and there are still people sitting on their rooftops, waiting for help!  And one hour of "photo ops" doesn't constitute help, in my opinion.  (Okay, off my soapbox now.)

I have been out for my 3 1/2 mile walk, will soon go to Pat's so she can color my hair.  Must think about packing, as we leave early Monday for Branson.  I'm looking forward to seeing "Joseph" at the Sight and Sound theater.

It was chilly when I walked, but is to warm up nicely again.  We'd better enjoy it while it lasts.

I 'ave a code in ma node!!  My eyes ar' watry!  I cant breeve!

I thought I was better last evening but the night must have done me in!  I woke up with all the symptoms of a full blown (no pun intended) cold!!

Glad I don't have anywhere to go to today!

I finally got 20 of my zoo pictures on my Droid.  I thought I could copy them from the computer to Droid by way of a card reader with the mini card from Droid in the reader.  My laptop wouldn't recognize the card reader...Laptop?  Reader?  Even tried it on the desktop...nada!  So I emailed them to my gmail account.  Finally got them!!  Now I can show people some of my zoo pictures with the phone!

Looks to be a nice day today in Indiana.  Sunny and a few wispy clouds to the north.  There is a little bit of wind but not much.  All my leaves are gone from the trees but there are still some hanging onto the bushes!   At least it is still brown and green out there.  Not that pale stuff!

I am missing Ivalou.  Seems like it should be Saturday but it is Friday, right?

Anyone out there agree?  Will you be glad when Tuesday is over?

For sure, Etta Sue, I will be glad to hear the last of the political junk, but may be far less than happy, if the wrong one wins!!  PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!
Sorry about the cold.  Darrel seems to be getting one, too, so I went and got him some Zicam, hope it helps.  He doesn't need a cold to take along on the trip to Branson!

Beautiful day here in the SW corner of Kansas!

Janet:  I am at the point of thinking that we will be alright if we are right with God.  We can endure just about anything.

Well, as I say that .... two men are making the worst noise taking apart two bathrooms.  Not completely. - One speaks no English and the other hasn't understood me... he was about to take up my living room carpet and the carpet on the stairs.  Next, he was taking apart the entire bath cabinet.... no, just the mirror and counter top.  He yells, OK down the hallway and I have to see what he wants ..but I did not answer to the whistle.

I just listened to the book, Unspoken and it is such a testament of faith.  It is long and very rough about WWII but truly worth the effort of reading.

HELP!!! Please pray with and for me.  Marbeth is hurting (back, neck, head).  We've been to the chiropractor, and it seemed ok for a while, but not now.  pray we'll know what to do.  Pray for healing.  I still cannot walk around, etc. on account of these legs.  With both of us down, it gets impossible.

Al, prayers for both you and Marbeth.  Please try not to get discouraged (easy to say, hard to do!)  Just know God does love you both and He wants you well.

Carol, I fully agree.  I believe we will have to go through some rough stuff before we are called upward, and pray we will (especially ME) have the courage, faith and strength to endure it, while continuing to live for HIM.  That sounds like a book I would like to read.  There are SO many stories from WWII, and probably as many yet untold!  It was such a horrible war.  Sorry your workmen are such a pain, getting good help is getting harder all the time!

My tummy is really grouchy this morning, I don't know what it's complaining about.

Maybe I will get out a suitcase today and think about packing a few things.  ;)

Maybe the Lord will come before the Tuesday elections!  Wouldn't that be GREAT?

But if we are still here, it's not only the federal slate that's a concern.  Even our local candidates have been unable to do anything other than bash the opponents.  I'll be going to the polls still trying to decide which one has made the most outrageous claims against another...  I can only pray the Lord will direct my fingers to the one HE wants.

Al, I know it must be extra hard for you and Marbeth when you are both "under the weather".  I'm praying for healing for you both.

Hi everyone.  It looks like it is going to be a lovely day here in Georgia.  I am just back from coffee at McDonald's and a trip to the post office to mail a couple of packages and get some stamps.  In a little bit I will go to a meeting.  I had a coupon for a free meal at McDonald's so used it to bring Pat her breakfast.  I am looking forward to watching some college football this afternoon.  Georgia doesn't play until 4 pm so I will have plenty of time for may nap after lunch.

Janet, I agree with you on the media bias and photo ops.  I couldn't believe that the mayor of New York was going to go ahead an allow the marathon race and was glad to see he caved to pressure and cancelled it for today.  I haven't heard of the show "Joseph" in Branson.  Will you be seeing several shows.

Etta Sue, sorry to see that your cold is worse.  Our leaves are only now beginning to come off the trees.  We still haven't had a frost.

Carol, I read an interesting commentary this morning by one of the political writers on Red State name Eric Erickson, who is also now on WSB radio.  He is obviously a Christian and while he wants the election to go one way he recognizes these things are all a part of God's plan for this world.  (If anyone is interested in reading this commentary just let me know and I can forward the email I got this morning.)  Sounds like your home was really being torn up yesterday.  We need to get our carpet cleaned but it has worn very well and I don't anticipate replacing it anytime soon.

Al, I will pray for both you and Marbeth.

Jeanne, I saw on Fox Business network an ad for a Mass. congressman.  It was so unusal as it was just a beautiful scenery scene and nice music and words about being tired of all the political bashing.  He said it has gone viral on the Internet.

Larry, I would like to read the email you mentioned.  Thanks.  The play "JOSEPH" is performed in the huge Sight and Sound Theater.  It is done by a Christian group (maybe Mennonite?) and the first theater was built in Amish country in Lancaster County, Pa.  We went there while on that trip, and enjoyed it so much!  Then we saw "Noah" twice in the theater they built in Branson.  They do a wonderful job, with all kinds of sound effects, moving sets, etc.  It is amazing!
And yes, we will be seeing two shows a day for the three days we are there.

Like you, I was relieved when the NY marathon was canceled--at the last minute. I couldn't believe the mayor was even considering going ahead with it!

Jeanne, I agree, it would be wonderful if the Lord came before Tuesday!  :) 8)  We voted about ten days ago, with not one second's hesitation!  But not a one of our local ones were contested, so that made it easier on those!

Al:  You and Marbeth lead the pack in prayers right this minute.

Marilyn:  I could not get to the AZ site on your email.  We have taken CPR several times over the years but everything does change for the better in the teachings.

Otherwise, I cannot keep up with emails from friends and relatives.  Sorry, I just feel overwhelmed at times and keep on doing what is important.

Larry:  Send on that information.... must make time for what is important in life.  Thank you.

Off to buy rods for bathrooms, a little fabric for a table runner I must make for a Christmas exchange.  They broke a little off the mirror I wanted saved yesterday so now I am going to fix it and make a wood frame for it so it still can be used.  The workmen left a pile of junk in our neighbor's yard and he said, Manana, while pointing to it.   :coffee:

Janet:  Have a lovely time when you are in Branson.  Don always wanted to go there and now with his hearing distortion, it would not be possible.  Please do read the book I mentioned, "Unspoken".  You will be happy to read the end.

Carol, where can I get the book?  It would be nice to have it on CD to listen instead of reading.  Sorry about the mess the guys left--and in the neighbors' yard, to boot! :idiot:

OH!  I ordered an ebook reader, found one for $25, refurbished.  So I thought that will get me used to using one, then maybe I will upgrade.  This one does have wifi.  It isn't here yet, but I did get noticed it has been shipped.

Marilyn, the link didn't work for me, either.

My cold is still with me.  Eyes watering.  Nose stuffy.  Sneezing.  Head congested.  But my throat isn't sore!!  This all started Tuesday evening so I will be having symptoms at least a week to 10 days!  Nothing cures a cold...you just take meds to be more comfortable.

Marilyn, your link didn't work for me either.

Al, prayers are for you and Marbeth for better mobility!  You have to be able to take care of each other!!

Janet, is 'Joseph' the Joseph and his colorful coat?  I have seen that locally at our high school and at Beef and Boards!  Great show! Wish I were going to Branson.  Love those shows!

Carol, hope your men do a better job than my tree trimmers did.  And I could understand them and they me!!

Jeanne, I, too, wish that Christ would return soon.  I have been studying Revelation...I understand it better but some parts are still foggy to me.  144,000, 3 and half years, Millenium still frazzles me.  I just have to believe that since I believe in Christ Jesus, that I will go to heaven in an instant, like Christ Jesus returned in an instant.

I slept so hard last night.  I woke up on my back and I seldom sleep on my back.  I am so glad that if I have to get a cold that it was while I wasn't taking care of Ivalou.  She doesn't need my cold!  She is coming back today or tomorrow...not sure.  I just knows that she has a doctor appointment Monday at 9:40am.  I have a dentist appointment at 10:20am so can't take her.  (Ivalou wouldn't let me change my appointment)  Jane is going to take her but Ivalou wants me to come help her get dressed.  Have you tried getting dressed with one good arm...and remember her good arm is the one she can't use much...so have you tried getting dressed with two one bad arms??

It is rainy and gloomy today.  No sunshine in Indiana.  I was wishing the farmer would get the corn from the field across from me but not yet!

I have already changed my clocks....don't forget to change your clocks!!

Thanks for the link.  That is what we learned in Arizona.  We also had the class on using the defibrillator that is available in public places.

We took our grandchildren to Joseph and now I realize it was years ago.  They also sat with us at Cats.  Joseph was amazing and I used to play the songs from Cats in the car over and over.

Back from non-shopping.  What a waste of time.  We have to order from the internet which means we will have to hand all the rods ourselves.  It wasn't a totally wasted trip because we have not been to a Krispie Kreme for years and decided to go in for coffee and doughnut.  Free doughnuts, nice and hot.  So sinful and so good  ^-^

Janet:  It is at the library and here they have CD recordings as well.  I downloaded the audio book to my iPod but am sure it is at your local library - the author also wrote Seabiscuit.  While you are there, ask if they have any Lee Strobel books, he is speaking at our church often and I just love his message.

Carol, I have heard Lee Strobel on TV, --he's the onewho set outto prove Jesus wasn't who He said He was, right?  Great that you can hear him in person!  I will check for the book at the library.  Must scroll back up to find the title.

Yes, Etta Sue, that't the right Joseph, the one with the coat of many colors.  Can't wait to see the show!  And if you can find End Times Prophecy on TV where you live, it will help you understand Revelations.  Did you know there is a special reward for those who read that book?  How cool is that?  8)  It is on TBN here, Wednesday night.

Jane, thanks for the link.  I want to copy it and send it on to others.  Who knows whose  life may be saved just by that information?

I am going to the Festival of Trees tonight at our museum.  It is put on by the hospital auxiliary, and I have never been before, so will tell you more after I know more! ;)  I attended the funeral service this afternoon of a dear lady who had been a resident of the care home for a number of years.  Christine's family did a lot of the service, which was really nice.
