JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Failure and Success:
No Past At All!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. --2 Corinthians 5:17

In our churches we often sing, "Arise, my soul, shake off thy guilty fears." But nothing happens and we keep our fears. Why do we claim on one hand that our sins are gone and on the other act just as though they are not gone?

Brethren, we have been declared "Not Guilty!" by the highest court in all the universe. Still there are honest Christians, earnestly seeking the face of God, who cannot seem to break loose and find real freedom. The grave clothes trip them up every time they try to move on a little faster. Satan uses their past sins to terrify them.

Now, on the basis of grace as taught in the Word of God, when God forgives a man, He trusts him as though he had never sinned. God did not have mental reservations about any of us when we became His children by faith. When God forgives a man, He doesn't think, 'I will have to watch this fellow because he has a bad record.' No, He starts with him again as though he had just been created and as if there had been no past at all! That is the basis of our Christian assurance--and God wants us to be happy in it.
Dr. Tozer in I Talk Back to the Devil, pp. 6-7

"Thank You, Father, for that glorious freedom of forgiveness. Thank You for Your marvelous grace. No past at all! What a wonderful, incomprehensible truth! I humbly and joyfully worship You this morning. Amen."

you know what, whenever I feel unsure of God's love and forgiveness, I go back to this verse. it's hard to leave the past behind especially if there are people who insist on reminding me of what i did in the past, but i am SURE that God loves me and that He has already forgiven me. it's a big source of comfort.

I sure understand the power of God's forgiveness even if some family members still carry that unforgiveness for the  deeds of my past. It is their loss not mine.  We have to let go and let God and live in  the His forgiveness. the hurts will still be there  regarding family members but we also have to forgive them for their unbelief, let them know that we love them anyway and sometimes we have to just move on.

Amen good devotional today.
God does forgive our past and he tells us in His word has far has the East is from the west he has removed our transgressions from us  never to be remembered again.
So If any one is trying to bring up your past sins its like going around and around in circles  and finding nothing. Because God has removed our sins and put them in the sea of his forgetfulness never to be remembered again. Its amazing grace. So we don`t have to live in condemnation anymore !!
Praise The Lord!!!

It is wonderfully true that, for those who have once entered the Kingdom, the past is GONE.  However, there is another side to this that hasn't yet been mentioned.  The queston that first needs to be answered is, "Have I ever actually and really entered His Kingdom?"  Once there, I'm absoluely forgiven, but AM I THERE?  At that point, though, we can do one of two things: we can go away from Christ or we can come to Him.  He's promised that if we come to Him, He'll NEVER cast us out.  If you wonder, therefore, whether you are accepted because you wonder if you've ever really come to Him, then COME NOW!  He won't cast you out!

Hi everyone.  Pat, that is a very powerful devotional today reminding us of God's unfathomable love for us and the his grace.

I have my Monday luncheon at 1 pm today and am looking forward to it.  This morning I am reinstalling Windows XP on a computer my friend Rod gave me.  I am going to use it to replace the one I gave our housekeeper the other day.  It is twice as fast and I think it will make a better computer for her.  After I get the software installed I will have to move the wireless card from one computer to the other.  There is a bit of work to do to setup this computer as have to do all the updates.  Right now am installing Service Pack 2 and then will install Service Pack 3 and other needed software.

It is another beautiful day here today and they are predicting a little rain for us on Wednesday and Thursday.

Welcome, Pao!!!  My maternal grandfather's given name was Alfonso!  But he was called Lon!  Don't know how they got Lon out of Alfonso but, really, I didn't know his real name until he passed away.

Again...it is really getting fallish here.  So many farmers in the fields getting in soy beans and corn.  Pretty soon the crossroads will be clear and we can see the cross traffic.  Can't do that if corn is planted there.  Still not many trees changing color yet.  Just hope that happens before the leaves fall.  It has been a dry fall so far.

Lots of piddly things to do today...making some greeting cards and putting up things.

Larry, I keep getting a message that I should install Service Pack 3 and have said "Later" as I'm always leary (is that a word?) of doing this.  So, should I just go ahead and let it install?

Great reminder Pat, and also a good point by Al.

Another day of rain!  No doubt about Fall now...

Went to town today and Wendy saw the doctor.  The results are good.  They are going to do more tests in four months, feel the lump is not cancer.  Would rather it was removed...That is the way it used to be done.  Grateful for answered prayer and will leave matters in God's hands.

Ralph has been having bad stomach pain and saw the dr.  He has to go for many tests.  So we are now worried about him as the dr. is also concerned.  All of these problems certainly keep me in close touch with God.  Think Larry, Janet and I need to form our own little worry club :'(

Have put out all the shoes for everyone in the house and will now go and clean, polish and waterproof for the winter.  Should get finished by dinner with a bit of luck.  Squeek is down here helping me ::)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Pat,  I have installed Service Pack 3 on several computers, including one I was working on today where I reinstalled Windows XP and had to do all the updates.  It went well and if you have been doing the updates as they individually came out you probably already have most of it installed.  This was a roll-up package of a lot of weekly updates.

hello all,
Yes, this really resonates with me as we have a large family. Many are spread out too and do not see each other so often, then it is harder to heal old transgressions.

If we just remember to love everyone every day, treat them with kindness----it will be the way God intended it to be!
great ideas here....vacation bible school

Enjoyed the devotion and the added response by P. Al.

Larry:  I read much too quickly and miss things often - how sweet of your son and DIL to give your daughter, Stacey, a scooter chair.  You sound busy and into computers right now.

We had the first half of the AARP 55 Alive class today and really the teacher is very nice and the time went much quicker.  Ran over to donate two light fixtures to Goodwill and we found two matching mugs for our kitchen - they match two others perfectly.  49 cents each instead of $7.00 each.  Lest you believe I would ever in my life pay $7.00 for a mug, I must say that we bought the others at a thrift shop as well. There are bargains to behold!  Donate something - then shop.

Son called & feeling down as all the money they set aside for our grandson's college is really down right now - in the market.  Grim news but they will survive as we all do over the valleys and mountains in life.  Thank heaven that everyone in the family is working.

Ruth Ann:  I see that you are "on" right now.  I hope that your headache is gone gone gone.

Hi everyone.  A special welcome to cparkinson.  You will soon get to know us and we would like to get to know you.  I live in the Atlanta area and am retired for quite a few years and have totally enjoy computers.

I have a few minutes before going to coffee and then have a busy day ahead.  This morning I have a meeting to attend and have some preparatory work to do in advance.  This afternoon I will continue to work on a couple of computers that I am trying to get fixed up.  I think I pretty well finished with the one computer that I was working on yesterday but the lady for whom I am fixing these up stopped by yesterday afternoon with an older computer.  I am going to try to get off some of her files and possibly put in an ethernet card for that computer.  She also wants me to look at her daughter's computer, which isn't working at this time.

I have also agreed to help a lady in our church with replacing an older computer where the hard disk crashed and the clock has gone bad.  I seem to jump out of one frying pan right into the fire but this should be an easy one.  This lady is a novice at using the computer and still uses dialup although I am trying to talk her into getting DSL light.

Good morning to you all. The day is cooler and it is no doubt that is going to be the way from now on :D

I have just come home from a early morning prayer meeting. We started 6:00 am to 8 am.
We believe if we are to see God move it will come by prayer.

Praying you will all have a good day in the Lord.

Carol

Pat:  I have been a church secretary for two pastors & using the P. Al is just a flippant way to note a loving pastor in this case.  Meaning no disrespect in any way.  I see that our new pastor signs his notes - P. Doug

Melody:

We really need to pray for our leaders right now.  I am praying for an end to this war and for the election - that people will really think carefully before they vote because it matters like nothing else right now.

That is an early time for you to go to church.  It sounds like sunrise service.

Dark outside and the temp is 41* F.  - The heat didn't come on so I nudged it on this morning - it was 63* in here and we set it a point higher at night.  Otherwise, we haven't had the heat on so that is good.

The family and I are trying to plan a surprise birthday open house for Don's 70th. - we may have to do this about three weeks early -sometime in mid-November.

I had thought that P.Al referred to our newest member, Pao Alfonso.

Welcome, cparkinson!  Hope you post many posts so we will get to know you and you get to know us.  I am from central Indiana.

Kind of cloudy out today but Ivalou, Jane (neighbor) and I are going to SAM's (Senior Adult Ministry) lunch at a restaurant called Claude and Annies.  After that we plan to go to the new IMAX theater (16 theaters) and see a movie.  Should be fun!

It is so nice to not have to have the A/C or the heat on.  Hope my electric bill reflects it.

Hi Carol...

When I was fast reading, I missed the period and thought of something like "Pal"

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends,

I posted right after Marilyn yesterday evening, but POOF! it went away between then and later in the evening. So, here's what I wrote in CP, then copy/pasted into SN.

Here's how my day ended up...

Well, today I listened to a new CD a friend gave me, and it seemed that I needed to listen over and over to one of the songs that essentially talked about if you've got problems, etc., then "I let go" and the song talks about living in faith, not shouldering all our problems ourselves.

How true that was for me today.

One block from my home, I was rear ended. There's probably several hundred dollars of damage to my little PT Cruiser, and looks like collection might be a problem based on some of the issues I heard the policeman discussing with the young lady who hit me.

So, I'm grateful that right now, my main pains are my left shoulder blade, left side of neck (I was belted in sitting at a stop sign with foot on the brake - T shaped intersection - looking to my left at oncoming traffic, when there weren't any squealing brakes, just a hard bump that pushed me about 5 feet forward). Thankfully that red car coming down the hill swerved away from me so I didn't hit that car.

Now, here's an update from today:

I'm still SO thankful that things weren't any worse. I have uninsured motorist coverage, so am very thankful for that. Have a doctor's appointment for late this afternoon to be seen about the very sore shoulder joint, collar bone, and both sides of the neck. Both the neck popped when I tried to raise my arm a bit earlier and also I feel some pain and popping between my shoulder blades.

Today will be very busy with calling repair places and getting estimates.

Isn't it wonderful that I was wearing my seat belt, so my new knee seems to be doing OK and I know it didn't bump the dashboard.

Carol, thanks for inquiring about my headache. The Sunday one went away, and of course I developed the new one after the accident. Oh, well, hopefully that, too, will pass. :)
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

melody

Ruth Ann -glad that accident wasn't any worst but praying for you that the pain will go way.
Carol-we just met for an early morning prayer meeting, it was not a service.
yes, I agree with you and I  am prayer for your elections also. may God give you leaders to lead in a Godly fashion. <3
