Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Ohhhh, Ruth Ann!!!  I'm so glad you were wearing your seatbelt!  My goodness, you sure don't need anything else at this time.

Hi, I'm in a rental PT Cruiser (silver in color), and about to head to the surgeon for knee checkup.

God really is GOOD, all the time, isn't He!
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Pat

Ohh, lovely Ruth Ann!

I like those little cars--almost as much as "Coopers"!

Welcome to Pao

Another big welcome to cparkinson

Ruth Ann:  Whew!  You surely didn't need that!  You are lucky that you can walk today because it is so traumatic to be hit from behind - no insurance on the other driver.  That just frosts me.  Thankful prayer for you.

Melody:  All prayers for leaders are appreciated.

Is Janet coming back soon?

Pat

As far as I know, Carol, Janet said that she'd be away most of October.  :(

Hi everyone.  This will be another relatively busy day.  This morning we have Bible Study with the pastor, after I go to coffee with my retired friends.  Pat and I sometimes then go out to lunch but don't know that we will do that today.  Tonight is choir practice and I need to work with my CD of the Messiah as it has my part on it.  I have the individual pieces in my Palm so they are very handy.

Yesterday I tried to work on an old computer that our housekeeper brought over but nothing seemed to work and it is so outdated.  I had an ethernet card to try to put in it but couldn't because the motherboard wouldn't take it.  So I removed the hard drive and will try to salvage the pictures and items on it for her.  It is only an eight gig hard drive and it is basically full.  She brought over her daughter's computer yesterday afternoon when she picked up the one I had fixed up for her.  I will have to see what I can do with it.

Ruth Ann, glad you seem to be OK after your car accident.  I had read your posting on SeniorNet yesterday.  Glad your knee seems to be OK.

Marilyn

Good Morning everyone. Not much going on here at the moment. I have been to Curves for my  daily morning workout. I will be going to Tai Chi practice at 8:30 then on to work to take the lady and her two dogs for their walk. I have an appointment to have my nails done this afternoon. I have swept the kitchen floor and will be doing some of the last minute cleaning up things before I go off on my trip tomorrow, so that I come home to a clean house.

I have put the dog food in the car already and will add their beds tomorrow morning and put a pan with some water on the floor of the back seat for them as they travel.

Ruth Ann ~ So glad you weren't hurt badly in you accident.  At least they gave you a rental PT while yours is in the hospital.

Today is Red Hats day.  We are going to a Tea Room in downtown Indy.  It is at White River Park but I doubt that we will be doing much walking since it is rainy.  May eat and come back home.  But I doubt it.  The driver is a marathon shopper so I imagine we will be stopping somewhere to shop.  Don't have a thing to look for since I got my lapdesk the last time.

I got a phone call from Phoenix this morning.  My classmate from Mexico is in Phoenix seeing his doctors and friends.  He is leaving to go back to Mexico this afternoon.  His cell costs nothing to call me while he is in the states but costly while in Mexico.  Good to hear him talk.  He sounds strong after his bouts with the hospital and floods in Mexico.

Again, it is rainy and cold in Indiana.  Only 60° right now and not to get much higher.  Glad I have a red jacket to go with my red and purple!!

Larry, did you see my question the other day about Service Pack 3 for Windows XP?

Just wondering if it's a good thing to just go ahead and install it.

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Larry Hanna

Pat, I did see it and answered.  I would recommend you go ahead and install it.  I have done that on several computers and had no problems.  If you have been keeping your updates current for Windows you probably already have a lot of it installed and it is a compilation of weekly updates (as I understand it).

I wanted to share the following that I just received via e-mai.  Thought you all might get a chuckle from it--I hadn't seen this before:

When you go to Church this weekend be sure to smile as you go through your Hymnals!

Dentist's Hymn...............................Crown Him with Many Crowns

Weatherman's Hymn.....................There Shall Be Showers of Blessings

Contractor's Hymn........................The Church's One Foundation

The Tailor's Hymn..........................Holy, Holy, Holy

The Golfer's Hymn.........................There's a Green Hill Far Away

The Politician's Hymn....................Standing on the Promises

Optometrist's Hymn.......................Open My Eyes That I Might See

The IRS Agent's Hymn....................I Surrender All

The Gossip's Hymn.........................Pass It On

The Electrician's Hymn...................Send The Light

The Shopper's Hymn.......................Sweet Bye and Bye

The Realtor's Hymn..........................I've Got a Mansion Just over the Hilltop

The Massage Therapists Hymn.......He Touched Me

The Doctor's Hymn............................The Great Physician

AND for those who speed on the highway - a few hymns:

45mph...................God Will Take Care of You

65mph...................Nearer My God To Thee

85mph...................This World Is Not My Home

95mph....................Lord, I'm Coming Home

100mph..................Precious Memories

Not much activity here today. Where is everyone? hey come out of your corners and say a few words. Don't quote me now and just type "A Few Words".

Not much going on here, for now. I am already for the trip and the dogs have more stuff to take than I do. Their bed and blankets, food, treats, food and water bowls and toys. I want them to be comfortable with their own things.

I will be leaving here about 12:30 pm.

Good morning :coffee:
Its Thursday and it seems like the week goes so quickly.
Today I am headed to the grocery store to get a turkey to cook for the weekend.
Its Thanksgiving weekend here. So it will be lots of turkey and dressing and vegetables and desserts. Yummy :D

Carol

Yea - Don is going to be gone most of this day and I am trying to get him out of the house because I am planning a surprise 70th. birthday for him.  There will be an Open House three weeks prior to his birthday so he won't suspect and the boys are responsible for taking him to the mountains or somewhere - one is building a cabin so that is the excuse.

Pat:  Thanks - I knew Janet was on a trip just not how long.  When will your house be finished?

Melody:  I tried to buy a turkey on sale last week & they were all gone in a half day with no replacements.  Usually, there are sales galore at this time of the year and we buy for the baskets as well.

Larry:  I copied your catchy phrases and will hand them to our new pastor.  We will always remember one winter blizzard drive in the mountains & the radio played "Nearer My God To Thee" - laughable but scary drive.

Our newsletter says that the big church & the tiny one we attend are trying to make 1,000 food baskets this year.  We are going to help put them together.  We used to deliver baskets but I don't know if we can this year - we just don't know this area that well.  Gasoline has gone down a little.  I felt sorry for a young man yesterday who pre-paid and he had $5.50 in change.  He was going to work.  Driving close to the inner city yesterday to buy two chairs - there are people all over - homeless.  Rough looking & drinking.  Sleeping all day & they have just given up.  The weather is just beautiful here and it just isn't understandable when they don't line up for the job place.  These are our own citizens.

Going for a  :coffee:

Bright and sunny again today.  A tad bit cooler.  Seems each day is a degree or two cooler than the previous day.  Not looking forward to the gas bills for heat.

Today is 60 Chix and I may see if I can find what I am looking for at a Party supply place.  Need some small containers for dips.  We are going to Red Lobster for lunch.

Good Morning Everyone!

It's a lovely sunny cool day here.  I've been putting chairs from the deck away for the winter.  It's been raining so much lately that it's kind of mucky and muddy out but it's ok.

Enjoy your turkey, Melody!  I'll be alone this weekend but that's ok.  All the kids are on the road travelling to somewhere or other.

Must go and see what else I can do here.

When We See Christ
(Click to hear music)

By Esther Kerr Rusthoi

Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,
We're tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;
But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,
All tears forever over in God's eternal day.

Refrain

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race 'til we see Christ.

Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,
We're tossed and driven on, no human help in sight;
But there is One in heaven who knows our deepest care,
Let Jesus solve your problem--just go to Him in prayer.

Refrain

Life's day will soon be o'er, all storms forever past,
We'll cross the great divide to glory, safe at last.
We'll share the joys of heaven--a harp, a home, a crown.
The tempter will be banished, we'll lay our burden down.

Hi everyone.  It looks like the rain is over but we had somewhere close to 4 inches of rain yesterday and it was raining early this morning.  We are so thankful for the rain and our drought continues.

Not much on the schedule today.  I am still working on the computer (second one) for our housekeeper and am going to install a Linux operating system as it is free and we have no other licenses for Windows XP to use between my friend and I.  I had Linux on a computer and it worked well but I removed it as decided there was no reason to learn it and it wouldn't work with my printers.  However, it was easy to use and give Internet access and did the other things you want from a computer.  They don't have a printer so this shouldn't be a problem and the other computer I gave the housekeeper has Windows XP on it so would work with a printer.

Carol, to fill 1,000 baskets is a really big job and would take a lot of food.

Pat, we need to put our deck cushions upstairs for the winter.  Pat is washing some of them today as we have a terrible problem here in the south with mildrew.  We have covers for each chair but have had a couple uncovered this summer and the mildew built up on them.

Etta Sue, sounds like you have a fun day planned--enjoy.

Melody, Pat, Liz, Gord and all of our Canadian CP friend, Happy Thanksgiving.

Marilyn, the dogs seem to require about as much as traveling with babies or small children.  Hope eyou have a good trip.

Marilyn

I will be pulling out of here about 12:15. After I get back from walking the lady and her dogs I will load my car have some lunch make sure my dogs have taken care of their business,  put some water in the car for them and we are outta here after that.

I will check in from my fiance's house.

Hi, my monitor went out, and then I've also been really groggy from the muscle relaxer medication that's helping my soreness. So, won't say much, but wanted to thank God for my son lending me his monitor and also for God's saving grace.

That's wonderful, Ruth Ann that your son loaned you his.

Which reminds me that I am going to phone you and talk to you about Excel!  Not sure when yet but I'm going to.

Travel safe, Marilyn.

I'd like to share with you all about a part of our site that many of you may not have looked at before.

We have on our site a wonderful writer and that's Pastor Al Moak.

Paul and I have been going through his Songs of Worship section on here and have been receiving such a blessing from them.  At first, we were reading the Psalm first and then what Alan wrote but we've now decided that we're going to read his devotional first and then we'll go to the scripture.  Since we've been doing it that way, our eyes are sure opened to what is being written in the Psalm.

Today we read Psalm 72

Have you seen them?

Maybe you'd like to read from Psalm 1 to the end or maybe you have just some interest in one of the Psalms because you read a verse from one.

Just go to the Board and click on "Subject" and they will all be sorted according to number...well almost.  They will be like 1, 10, 100 and something like that but easy to find.

Enjoy!

While you're there, how about leaving Alan a comment as this will certainly encourage him.  (It may take awhile for Alan to get back to your comment but I'm sure he will).  ;)

If you see the little "New" icon, I guarantee that there are some posts in that topic that you've never read.

Larry, those hymn title references were absolutely wild and wonderful!  Thank you for them.  Pat - thanks for all the kind words.  May our Father bless his Word to us.

My back is hurting some today, and I am hoping I don't have to go to the chiropracter with it.  But I shouldn't complain - the level of health I have is far better than I deserve.  Nevertheless, I long for the everlasting kingdom!  God bless y'all.

Pat

Larry, thanks for those comical hymn titles!  I'm sharing them with some others.

:)  Good Evening to all on C.P. I had a beautiful gift given to my wife and I and that was a 19" monitor and is so clear. Roght after that our computer gave us some trouble and of course I could not figure out what it was.  I asked a friend if he would come over and he did and he was able to get everything working again so praise the Lord.  My daughter has finished her pregnancy leave and gone back to work so we have to help her with our grandson and it is long days so please pray for my wife as it is very hard for her with her bad back.

We are having our other kids for our thanksgiving this weekend so it will be again very busy as our granddaughter will be here also but it is lots of fun. I have looked over the post's and very interesting as per usual and again WELCOME  to our new members.  May the Lord richly bless you all and give you a great time this weekend in the house of the Lord.
