Morning Devotional...

How grateful I am for the faithfulness, mercy and grace of our loving Lord.  They are new every morning, great is His faithfulness.

NEW EVERY MORNING

Yea. "new every morning," though we may awake,
Our hearts with old sorrows beginning to ache;
With old work unfinished when night stayed our hand,
With new duties waiting, unknown and unplanned;
With old care still pressing, to fret and to vex,
With new problems rising, our minds to perplex;
In ways long familiar, in paths yet untrod,
Oh, new every morning the mercies of God.

His faithfulness fails not, it meets each new day
With guidance for every new step of the way;
New grace for new trials, new trust for old fears,
New patience for bearing the wrongs of the years,
New strength for new burdens, new courage for old,
New faith for whatever the day may unfold;
As fresh for each need as the dew on the sod;
Oh, new every morning the mercies of God.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and concern for the Boese family.  (I found out that is the correct spelling.)  Our service today was pretty solemn, and much prayer for the hurting family.  Our pastor emailed every other pastor in town whose email addresses he had, asking them to be in prayer for him, the family and the church.  He feels this may be the seed for a revival in SW Kansas, and his prayer is that souls be saved in the service tomorrow morning.  We know there are unsaved ones in the baby's family, and the best possible outcome would be for them to come to know the Lord.

The congregation took anointing oil and anointed every pew and door, and also every chair in the fellowship hall, which will be used for the overflow crowd.  Before ending the service, the pastor and his wife anointed each person who plans to be at the funeral, and prayed over us individually.  May God draw us all closer to Him through this terrible happening.

A scrap booking friend's husband here writes songs, and he had a concert at another church (theirs) tonight, and since we didn't have services because the funeral home was setting up for the funeral, we went to Steve's concert.  It was great!  What a ministry this man has through the songs he writes!  He played four different guitars, and is really good.  It was such a nice change from thinking about that poor baby.

(I posted this just before closing the door, so thought I might should copy it here.  If you already read it, just scroll on by.  Thanks.)

Hi everyone.

Janet, I am sure it will be a very solemn day in your town and for your church family.  These things defy all understanding and we must place our trust in God that there is a purpose.

Today is cleaning day in our household.  Our grandson, who is 22 years old, is coming over this morning to help his grandmother with the heavy cleaning.  Pat did it the last time and has spent two miserable weeks with her back.  Fortunately she is feeling much better now and I want her to stay that way. I am no longer able to do much physical work.  I am going to try to clean my office other than the sweeping.

JudyB, nice to hea that you were all in agreement on the call of your new pastor.

A belated Happy Birthday, Sarah.  Glad you were able to get the day off work and have a day for yourself.  It is important that we have balance in our lives between work and play.

Carol, it sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with your family.  I know several different families who annually gather at the beach or in the mountains for a few days and they always seem to enjoy it.

Janet, thanks for the devotional poem, it is a good one.

Not much else on the schedule for today.  Time to leave for coffee.

Janet:  I just wanted to say that today's devotion on "new every morning"  is perfect for us to remember.  Refreshed, renewed every morning.  Sad day for your town and the very same thing happened in this state some time back.

Larry:  I told them all that the best presents ever are just time with them - a picnic or gathering but this was away from their work, and all interruptions so we had their full attention.  Grands played super nice with each other & the boys included our granddaughter - she spoke right up when they wanted to go off alone so that got settled really quickly.  Very dissapointing for Don when the altitude of 6500 ft. was too much for him to walk.  (He has scarring on his lungs from both smoking and most of all from bacterial pnuemonia).  Strange, because he has been at 9500 feet at son's property & fishing with two of the boys & that was this summertime.

Carol, they say there has been a dramatic increase in deaths of babies in cars since the advent of the rear seat, rear facing car seats.  They do not see the children nearly so easily.  I said maybe all baby sitters should call a parent if the child is not there within one hour of the expected time.  Another lady said maybe mothers should always put their purses in the back seat..........such a terrible thing to happen.  I attended the funeral this morning, and it was so sad.  I will go back and help with the dinner a bit later.

Carol, the Psalms have a lot of lovely things on thankfulness.  I'm glad you had such a wonderful time with your kids and grands.

I am more than tired today, didn't get to sleep until nearly 6 this morning, had to get up at 7:30.  Hope I make it through the day.  So many of these nights are making me feel old.  :-\

I talked to Curtis last night.  He had hoped his baby would be born yesterday, on his birthday, but it didn't happen.  They said if it doesn't arrive by tomorrow they will induce her labor.

I'm so tired I can barely hold my head up, think I will rest for 30 minutes or so.

Janet: I enjoyed your devotional today. So sad to read about the death of the little one.

I not been around for sometime it has been summer vacation and now that Sept. is here it is back to work,  I  have a heavy heart both with family and friends due to illness, all I can do is let God take care as he is the only one that really knows what the outcomes will be.

Saturday past we had a most beautiful rainbow and wouldn't you know my camera was at home, since I was close to my aunt's home in Bolton I went direct to her place picked her up and drove back so that she could also enjoy the beauty, by this time it was a full circle and also a double was starting.

Have a great day.     Ruth

A Ruth Welcome back from your vacation time. hat a lovely site that  rainbow must have been. We had had a lot of whales traveling north  lately but unfortunately I have not been blessed to be there to see them.

Off to walk to the doggies now.

Etta Sue where do I find that straightening tool in PSP 8? I suppose I should  look it  up in the book? If all else fails read the instructions right?

Marilyn ~ The straightening tool in PSP 8 is the second tool down...Click on the arrow to the right and the fly out will show 'Deform', 'Straighten', 'Perspective Correction' and 'Mess Warp'.  Just put the ends on the horizon.  Then click on View>>Palettes>>Tool Options.  Then click on the green check mark above!  And it will straighten your crooked horizon or anything else that doesn't suit your fancy!  You can use this tool vertical or horizontal...just move the ends to line it up on what you want straightened.

A long day that started last evening.  Kitty got a call from her daughter in Ohio and wanted to know if her Mother could come there and baby-sit with Katie (1½ years old) because their baby sitter has sick children at home.  Kitty had two dentist appointments today and said she couldn't.  Then she called me to ask if Katie came to Grandma's house, could I watch Katie while she went to the doctor.  I said 'Sure'.  Then she said that they were going to meet half way...almost to the Ohio/Indiana state line so I asked Kitty if she would want me to ride with her since Kitty would be driving home after dark.  So we got Katie.  I never saw so much stuff for a little one in all my life for 1 or 2 nights at Grandma's!!

Then right after I ate breakfast this morning my phone rang.  It was a classmate that wanted to know if I had eaten breakfast.  Yes, but I could drink my coffee at the restaurant so I met her at the restaurant.  It wasn't busy so we talked and talked.  I was to be at Kitty's by noon and it got 11am so I decided to eat at the restaurant instead of coming home and fixing something.  Great cornbread and beans and taters!

I did have to come home before going to Kitty's but only to take my noon time pills.  Katie was busy when I got to Kitty's...neither slept good last night but before Kitty left she put Katie down for a nap.  She cried for awhile and then got quiet.  ZZZZzzzz!  Kitty left.  Then her husband, Bob, came home for lunch.  We talked and he left.  Kitty got home at about 2:45pm and Katie was still asleep.  I really like baby sitting!!!    Easy as one, two, three!

I called my Vet to see if they had the cat food I need and left to get the cat food.  Now I am catching up online.  That's my day!!

Hello!  For sure you had an easy babysitting job, Etta Sue!

Ruth, it is wonderful to have you back with us.  I'm still remembering your prayer request.  <3

I am trying to stay awake so I will sleep tonight, but it isn't easy!  I'd rather be

I straighten my photos differently.

I use the grid and have one of the lines where the horizon is and then I go to rotate and do free rotate until my horizon is straight along one of the grid lines and then I crop the excess off.

Hi everyone.  Ruth, nice to see you posting again.

I am just back from morning coffee.  We had only about 5 men but had a good time as we always do.  It is a truly beautiful day here in Georgia.  We have a meeting to attend this morning and then have the rest of the day to myself.

Our grandson was here for several hours doing the cleaning for us yesterday and it worked out very well.  He did a super job and we enjoyed having him here.  We out to eat a bite of lunch.  He told us that he has just learned he is going to be a new father next March.  We are excited as perhaps this is one great grandchild we will be able to see often and watch as he/she grows up.  We have been denied that with our own grandchildren and the three great grandchildren we already have, who live in upstate New York.

Janet, I hope you were able to have a good nights sleep last night.  Ninety minutes a night sure isn't enough to rest a person.  It was nice of you to go back to your church to help serve the luncheon.  That is very helpful to families and a wonderful way to express concern and sympathy.

Etta Sue, I think I could do that type babysitting.  It sounds like you had an enjoyable day.

Carol, I agree with you comment about the best presents being a little of our children's time.  One year my son spent my birthday with me going to the computer store, out to lunch and then to a movie.  It was special as was just he and I and we had the opportunity to talk over lunch.

Hi Pat, Marilyn and all who stop by  today.

Janet ~ It was a coosh job baby-sitting.  I was kind of worried about her diaper if she woke up.  The last diaper I changed was a cloth diaper.   :P   But if needed, I would figure out a way!  But also Katie is a busy little girl and doesn't lie still during diaper change.  I called Kitty this morning and they were doing the basement stairs this morning...up and down...up and down...riding the chair elevator...up and down...up and down.  Kitty will be sore tomorrow.

Pat ~ Like my Mom used to say...there is more than one way to skin a cat.  I never liked that saying...l loved cats!!

Larry ~ It's days like yesterday that I would love to have a grandchild but I know that won't be so I might as well forget about it.  I am just happy that I have Ivalou's grands and greats to play with and spoil a little.

Today is Euchre and I told Kitty if she wanted someone to ride with her to take Kitty, I could this evening.

Predicting to be 85° today so the A/C is back on.... :(

Good Morning I thought I would write you a few words while waiting for my kitchen floor to dry. I will be going to work for 2 hours at 9 AM. Nothing is new here, I tried straightening my photo but I still need to keep working on  the original not a small resized one. I will duplicate the original and  play with that one when I have more time.

Thank you Pat and Etta Sue for your input, I have a new photo of the sunset over the ocean that I took last Thursday, I am trying to straighten the line of the ocean.

I finally got rid of my sore throat with a warm water and cayenne pepper gargle. Hot? Yes but it worked.

Well time to put the chairs back in the kitchen.

We have never worked so much to go on a trip - ever ever.  Don is at the bank & getting a haircut.  We have our little carry-on bags & the checked ones weighed and measured.  5 weeks and they had better not lose our luggage - I have heard horrible stories and now we can barely carry anything on.  Clear plastic bags with a few things in it - and so forth.

Thinking about what we do just because of terrorism.  I don't know if you have heard this news (I read Swedish newspapers online) and now the muslims are threatening anything Swede, including the big stores IKEA.  I love those places.  All because of another cartoon.  Threatening the artist and editor with death - I certainly hope that all these people who have ignored the threats will listen to what is happening and realize that all non-muslims are in danger.

Well, off my soap box - I am taking a break from vacuuming and last minute packing - then to get all of our papers in order.  We leave the house tomorrow and stay overnight with son - they take us to the airport early Thursday.  Don and I fly separately to Washington, D.C. and hopefully meet and get on the same plane to Heathrow.

Gord Brown:  If you see this note - we are scheduled in Edinburgh for three nights and Inverness for only two (because Don made an error) but it is a miracle that all of this is working & we have reservations.  Really looking forward to this.

Pat Scott:  We will be in Cotswolds for 6 nights, I used Skype to call & finally got an opening for us - it is only a half mile from Moreton-in-Marsh and one or two in Canterbury.  Am so excited.

Those who may have heard, our house exchange fell through because Hector (age 70) had a severe heart attack.  He still needs to improve for surgery at Cambridge hospital.  Everything we had planned had to be changed and we opted to still go or it would be to lose the money on Brit rail and so forth.  Don has been on the computer for days, only stopping for our family get-together.

This is too long-winded.  I will check back when we return.

Blessings to everyone.  Carol

Carol I am sure you told us when you are to leave but I missed it.  Could you tell us again?

We had our initial Small Group meeting last night.  IT was a BBQ at our friends home.  What a wonderful time of fellowship we had.  At the end we sang songs and had prayer.  We were really in God's presence.

I am still struggling with my arm, still painful to do anything with it.

John delivered in Sault Falls SD this morning, and is well on his way to the pick up.  He does so enjoy his job, not often does it become work.

Well not much else going on, so I will be back later or tomorrow.

Hi, kids!  Nice to read all your posts today.  Another busy day for me---therapy, then took Beth to massage therapist, then to Sr. Center for lunch, stayed to walk for 20 minutes on the treadmill; home to shower and change, and will leave in a few minutes to walk with
Beth as she rides in her power chair from the present care home to the site of the new one to be built, for the groundbreaking. After that is my piano lesson.  Then will be taking Beth and her friend Gloria to the Home Products Dinner this evening. Puff, puff!

WE HAD RAIN LAST NIGHT!  Praise the Lord!!  It was very much needed.

Sorry, got to run!

Carol, if you leave before I get back here, have a wonderful trip!!!  And of course, even if you don't leave for a day or two!  ;)

We have had a good day today.  I printed a bunch of birthday cards for October.  Cornelia and I went to the grocery for a little shopping.

Janet, thank you for your report on the Boese family.  It is hard to imagine the pain and grief they must be suffering.  The devotional this week is appropriate.  God's love gets us through all trials,  "Great IS His faithfulness."

One of my teachers at the University said, many years ago, there are 100 sermons in the 12th chapter of Romans.  I go back and read it often.  There are many personal things about our attitude and our daily lives which should help us to cope.

Romans 12:9-13 "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.   Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.   Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.   Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.   Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Good to see each one of you today.

So many folk to reply to and I did not take notes,  I had the pleasure of baby sitting our only grandchild and it is something I will always treasure. She is now 23 (I think)  and still a special  young lady

Papa John:   I always enjoy what you have to offer us.

The evenings and mornings here have been cool but later in the day it warms up beautifully.

Mel:  Has left to pick up his nephew so by the time they get home I will have dinner ready.

God Bless and have a great evening.    Ruth

Hi, friends,

Janet, I just told our pastor on Sunday, that the passage in Lamentations concerning the fact that God's mercies are renewed afresh to us each day is my favorite passage and would like it read at my funeral, if he should be the one to hold the service.

What an up/down type of weekend.

UP! A pleasant lunch with friends.
DOWN! My son was having a most terrible day.
UP! A friend and I spoke on the phone and she will be praying with me about this need of my son's. Also, my directly across the street neighbor is a Christian and he and I covenanted together to pray for my son.
UP! Later Saturday evening, my son was much better, and smiling a bit.
UP! Before a blowup, my daughter said she's considering the Methodist church - a particular church where she attended a funeral for one of her patients. That would be a blessing to know she's back in services again.
DOWN! My daughter made a meal miserable for both of us. We will be working to repair our relationship for a bit, I fear.
UP! My son leaned against the doorframe on Sunday morning as I was getting ready for services and actually had a brief chat with me - first time in probably 10-12 months since that has occurred.
UP! At church, I felt impressed to pray once again for a healing of my spirit and soul. Oh, how much better I feel.
UP, UP, and more UP! Attended a wonderful christian music concert by the Collingsworth family. If they're anywhere near where you are, please plan to go - you will come away awed by the talent and the full dedication to God of each member of this mom, dad, and 4 children family.

Thanks be to God for more UPs than DOWNS, and that when we walk through the valley, He's right there to comfort and guide.

We had a visit from the case manager of homecare today.  A very interesting meeting.  I really learned a lot.

It has been a lovely day, mom had taken "her dog" for a walk.  With the arm her balance is a little off so we help her on the stairs.  Other than that she does fine.

Another puppy is gone, It was picked up tonight.  It was the studs owner that got her and he has said we can use Sandy any time as stud.  That means more beautiful puppies.  I have posted some pictures in the pets forum, take a look!

I must go my arm is giving me what for.
Night all
JudyB

Ruth Ann I am glad you looked on the positive side of things and let the UP's outweigh the downs!  Praying sis.

:coffee:   Well I guess you all thought that had vanished of the planet.

My wife and I have been so busy since we came back from Scotland.
We have been halping our kids getting ready for our grandchildren that are about to enter this world.  The first one is this Thursday at 8.00 a.m. by sizerien. It is a girl and we are so excited and then in October we will have our second one which is a boy and we are not sure what date.
I cannot remember if I shared with you all that the second baby has a problem with it's vertebrae and it is called hemivertebrae so we ask that you would pray for Alain and Stephanie the parents.
Tomorrow they go to meet with the docto'r at the children's hospital which is called  Mc Master in the city of Hamilton Ontario Canada.

Also talking about how the Lord looks after his children this summer my wife were at my buddies cottage we went to visit my niece and on our way home there were two moose on the highway and it was pich black so I had to swerve to miss them and I thank the Lord that being a retired professionel driver I new what to do to miss them. :)

I have looked over many of the posting's and there are so many things that have happened since I have been of line the devotions have just been awesome and thanks to those who did them.

Thinking of the other thing's that have happened with regard's to people getting thing's stolen and the brake in to the truck it is just terrible and it happens all over the world.  The house that I live in when I bought it it came with an alarm system as the previous owner had it.  But my son -in-law's was broken into so I am glad I have it.

Well it is good to back and I do hope that the Lord will be close to all.
Pappa John:  It is so good to here from you and to see your we man with the stick,  and of course your wonderful scriptures.

Good night to all <3

Well, here we are another Wednesday.  The days seem to fly by for me.  The older I get the faster they go by.

Gord, I'm glad to meet you.  The arrival of grandchildren is exciting.  We have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  What a great blessing they are to us.

Ruth Ann, I hope there will be more "Ups" than "Downs" for you each day.  How do you like these cooler days we have been having?

Marilyn, helping to take care of an elderly  gentleman during his last days must be rewarding for you.  God bless you.

Eph. 4:29-32 " Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.    And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.    Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.    Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

Can't say too much today.  No time for chatting.  I have read all the posts and prayed for all the concerns and have given thanks for the praises.  Ups and Downs.

I have done laundry, talked with Ivalou, all my morning routine things, and need to be at Kitty's by 2pm.  I am riding with her again to take Katie back to her parents.  I am assuming the baby-sitters children are over being sick....or the parents and big brother are missing Katie!

Gotta run!!

I was just speaking to Alma on the telephone and we need to pray for her and her family at this time.  Her mother is not well and near to death and poor Alma has other family concerns too that the Lord knows all about.

Praying for you, Alma, if you check in here.

Hi everyone.  Sitting here eating my lunch after just getting back from Wednesday morning Bible study and then a visit to Dunkin' Donut with some of the Bible study attendees.

Yesterday we had a very close call as were almost rear-ended.  We were stopped at a stop light with several other cars in front of us.  I heard a screech of brakes and the next thing I knew there was a white pickup truck with a trailer full of landscaping equipment about halfway beside of up on the a curb.  Fortunately the man had been able to avoid hitting us but it really shook us up.  God was looking out for us.

We have a most glorious day and it can't be more than the low 70s with low humidity here today.  I will rest for a little bit as soon as I finish my lunch and then have the rest of the day available to me as don't have choir practice tonight (our director is out of town).  Pat's friend is coming over in a little bit and she and Pat are going to tie a quilt that they have made.

Glad to see all the messages of gratitude and also those requesting prayer.

It has been a very long road the last 2 weeks as my mama went in to the hospital and came home with hospice, we have been watching her slip away from us since she came home.

My family have all left there homes and jobs to come sit with her, and thats what has been happening, we sit and hold her hand, we can't under stand a word she says any longer and she weights about 70 lbs.

I am having lots of feelings but trying to be a stong , Please keep my mama in your hearts and prayers.

Today's powerful meditation from Oswald Chambers:

Sept 19

Are You Going on With Jesus?

"You are those who have continued with Me in My trials"  (Luke 22:28).

It is true that Jesus Christ is with us through our  temptations, but are we going on with Him through His temptations? Many of us turn back from going on with Jesus from the very moment we have an experience of what He can do. Watch when God changes your circumstances to see whether you are going on with Jesus, or siding with the world, the flesh, and the devil. We wear His name, but are we going on with Him? "From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more" (John 6:66).

The temptations of Jesus continued throughout His earthly life, and they will continue throughout the life of the Son of God in us. Are we going on with Jesus in the life we are living right now?

We have the idea that we ought to shield ourselves from some of the things God brings around us. May it never be! It is God who engineers our circumstances, and whatever they may be we must see that we face them while continually abiding with Him in His temptations. They are His temptations, not temptations to us, but temptations to the life of the Son of God in us. Jesus Christ's honor is at stake in our bodily lives. Are we remaining faithful to the Son of God in everything that attacks His life in us?

Are you going on with Jesus? The way goes through Gethsemane, through the city gate, and on "outside the camp" (Hebrews 13:13). The way is lonely and goes on until there is no longer even a trace of a footprint to follow—but only the voice saying, "Follow Me" (Matthew 4:19).

Let's all stay at the foot of the cross...

(Click to hear music)

"The angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city." Revelation 22:1-2

Words: Fanny Crosby, in Bright Jewels (New York: Biglow & Main, 1869).
Music: W. Howard Doane

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream
Flows from Calvary's mountain.

Refrain

In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the bright and morning star
Sheds its beams around me.

Refrain

Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day,
With its shadows o'er me.

Refrain

Near the cross I'll watch and wait
Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.

Refrain

Thanks, Pat.  That song is an old familiar one from my childhood.   :)

I have been away and only returned last night after nearly 12 hours of driving!  Yup, I was tired!

I (finally) saw the doctor this morning about my cough/congestion/mucous, etc.  He has ordered an esophogram (Friday morning) to more closely determine the cause.  Also prescribed compression stockings which I was able to purchase from Rite Aid for less than half the price they would have been at the place he sent me.   :-\

One of these daze I will find out what's happening to this ol' bod ... Well, I guess that's what it is "OLD"  Aaahhh me ... life goes on, doesn't it?

I have tons of stuff to do that not only waited for me while I was gone, but piled up and multiplied .....  :-\

Please take care of yourselves y'all!  I really get teary reading of all your needs and prayer requests.  Mostly all I can say is "Please, Father, take care of this -- and them."

Gotta go .... I'll try to get back later.

Alma, prayers and thoughts going your way.  Stay strong, He will not leave you.

I think I must have used up half of today's energy yesterday, am really dragging through the day.  I'm looking forward to going to bed.  :-\  Not like me at all!

Larry, I'm thanking God for protecting you and Pat!  Being rear ended could have been a really bad scene, so glad you are safe.

I must get my bag packed for the trip to Denver with the Women of Faith group.  We are leaving tomorrow, and I am NOT ready.

I almost can't believe it! The next 2 days are to be a complete vacation - the friend in Indiana that I'm visiting doesn't even OWN a computer.

Etta Sue, I don't know if we can get with you or not. Possibly lunch on Friday? If not, we'll work it in another time.

Y'all have a good rest of the week.

Oh Alma My heart goes out to you.  I am praying.

A funny story for you to lift your evening and morning.  We will have the grands again this weekend.  There is a concert that all the kids are going to, the cost if minimal....only $2.00.  My young grands have the tickets and plan on going.  I told them if their spelling isn't done I won't take them.  (They are Home Schooled)  the response was Nooooooo!!!!  So now I have to put action where my mouth is.  I hope they realize it isn't worth taking on this Gramma!

It is late, I am praying for the needs here.  I need to go and ice the owies.

I think the kids are finally getting it that they can't take on Gramma ... they say to me when they know the weekend is coming that they don't want to go to Gramma's but when they get home they tell me all about the fun that they have had while there.  Oh well ... I will take their response when they get home as being the more truthful one.

As far as the home schooling is concerned, everyone was concerned that I wouldn't have the dedication necessary to be able to do it.  All I can say is that I want this enough for all of us.  The kids aren't really liking it now that we have begun, only because it isn't as fun or easy as they thought it would be.  I am going to work on implementing more fun into the day, but it still has to be school and they still need to get their work done on a daily basis or they will have homework on the weekends.

Going to go for now, it's time for bed.

Night everyone
Hugs
Heather

The trip to east Indiana was great.  I know it helps Kitty to have someone to talk too while Katie is mesmerized by 'Little Einstein' on the portable DVD player!!  That 18 month old can be fussing and crying up a storm and you start Little Einstein to play and she is another little girl.  Spoiled??  Probably!

Getting ready to go out the door and go grocery shopping with Ivalou.   In fact, she may in the drive now!!

Good Morning I am getting ready to go take care of Cliff. Yesterday was so hard sitting there listening to him discuss his final wishes with the Hospice worker with tears running down his face. All of us in the room were crying. I have met Cliff before the first time was when Lisa was doing my nails and he came into the shop with her son to talk to her. After that I would see him frequently in the shop and we would always laugh and joke back and forth.

A year ago Lisa told me that her father had brain cancer and would be having surgery and all the chemo and radiation that goes with it. Last month when she cut my hair she told me the tumor grew back and he had just had surgery again. He has been home now for 1 week with hospice.

He was such an active man, camping , hunting,  fishing, hiking this is so hard on his children and the grands. They always went on whole family camping trips  a few times each year. Lots of family members have been coming and going and will continue as his time gets nearer to the end. The Chaplain is coming today to minister to him and I will be praying for him often. I am praying for his salvation before he goes. Who knows he may just get better. God is able to do anything.

Gotta go now.

Hi everyone.  I have a very busy day today so will be very brief but wanted to check-in and read the postings.

Alma, many of us have experienced what you are going through and know that it is a very difficult experience.  The grief process helps us cope with our sadness and you know that Christ is there with you and your family each minute.

Marilyn, it sounds like you will have a sad job as well but know that is part of your care giving work.

JudyB and Heather, I am sure doing home schooling can be very challenging.  I admire you for doing it and standing fast when you lay down the conditions.

Janet, hope you have a restful and very enjoyable and spirit filled weekend.

Etta Sue, glad you enjoyed your trip with Kitty and the little one.

Ruth Ann, glad you are getting a couple of days off.  I hope you enjoy every minute of the time.

Jane, hope your tests disclose the reason for your hoarseness and throat problems.

Al and Gord (and others) thanks for your expressions of gratitude that we escaped being in the accident.  Our roads here are so dangerous that you never know when you take the car out of the garage what might happen.

FAKE PHOTO

Remember putting your face above a headless frame painted to represent a muscle man, or a clown?

Many of us have had our pictures taken this way, and the photos are humorous because the head doesn't fit the body.

If we could picture Christ as the head of our local body of believers, would the world laugh at the misfit?  Or would they stand in awe of a human body so closely related to a divine head?

Praying for  you family Alma. I know its rough going right now. So I have you in my prayers an a big hug for you too.

It went very well today with Cliff. There was so much company that he only got about 1 hour's rest all day long. We did tell a couple of people to come back in about an hour so he could take a nap, he would just get dozed off and  anther group would show up and disturb him. They would come in 3's and 4's at a time. It should settle down soon. he said that some he hadn't seen in a few years.

Thank you to all who prayed for my request and those who checked out the egg recipe that I posted that was viewed 46 times and no one left a comment but at least it got looked at. Hey it is so good you should try it.

Hi everyone.

Alma, I send a hug as sometimes that is about all we can do in times of great sadness.  However, this is also a wonderful time as the family gathers to celebrate the life of our departed loved one as we recall the joys and, yes, some sadnesses of the many years past.  I will be thinking of you and your family in these days ahead and thanks for letting us know.

Janet, I know by the time you read this your trip to Denver will be over.  Hopefully the change of pace will have helped you sleep and you will have returned refreshed in body and spirit.

Marilyn, it is nice when people visit but sometimes they just don't realize that they may be hurting more than helping, especially if they make a lengthy visit.  Having been in the hospital a number of times I know I always appreciated the visits but on occasion was more than ready for them to end the visit.  Of course, we don't tell the peopole to leave.

Time to leave for coffee.  My neighbor is picking me up.

Your statement shows that she loved each of her children and each of her children loved her.  All who are left behind will be okay.  My prayers are for your Mother and her loved ones.

Not much happening at my end of the world today.  Ivalou and I plan to go to a funeral home visitation this evening and probably out to eat somewhere.  Let's see....it is my day.  Years ago, we started the 'her day' and 'my day' in making the decision of where to eat.  If it is an even day, she decides where to eat.  If it is an odd day, I decide.  Today is an odd day so I had better get on my thinking cap!! It works for us!! :o

Alma, I am sorry about your Mom.  Time will make things better and we will continue to pray for you and your family.

I have been rather ill the past while and not interested in posting....tho do come to read.  As Jane mentioned, age does that to people.  I will be 75 next week, so have a bit more of that than her....still, feel blessed to wake up each day.  It gets to be a rather slippery slope now and each year is a new adventure! :-\

I read your recipe, Marilyn.  Looks great, but my tummy would really  have a problem with some of the ingredients.

It is so wonderful to read Papa John's messages and they always are a blessing.  Have missed his positive posts and spiritual messages.  Please don't leave again, Papa John.

Wendy and some of the neighbours have organized a barbecue (street) to try and get Deer Park folks to know each other.  Lots of new people now and I hope they show up tomorrow.  They are trying to bring folks together and I hope it will not be a disappointing experience.  Lots of interest....they want to get a Christmas Light thing going this year and go out to sing carols, etc.  Not easy in this strange new world!  I must go and bake some butter tarts now.  People seem to like them.  Hope it doesn't rain, we are back to very cool, wet weather again.  Misty has her winter coat now!  I took mine to the cleaners today....

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Hi everyone.  It looks like I am the first here this Saturday morning in Georgia.  Once again we didn't get any of the rain that was south of us but it is suppose to be overcast today.

Pat had difficulty starting the Saturn again twice yesterday.  I spoke with the service department and we are going to take it in Monday to have the computer chip that controls the ignition security (and I don't know what else) replaced.  I do know it will be over $500 but that is better than the cost of a new car if it solve the problem.  If it doesn't it may be money wasted.  The car seems sound other than the periodic starting problem.  It usually starts after the required 10 minutes.

Liz, so sorry to read that you have been ill and not feeling up to posting.  I do hope eyou are feeling much better and will continue to feel better.

JudyB, you certainly are having a time.  I hope you can find some relief from your arm pain as know you are a very busy person with your home schooling and home responsibilities.

Papa John, that was a wonderful Bible citation and is so comforting when we know the Lord as our personal savior.

Ruth, nice to see you posting.  I see you all are into the outgo of funds with the major work and the maintenance work.

Hi Sue, we have been missing your postings.  Hope you have a nice weekend.

Etta Sue, trying to decide where to eat out can become a bit of a problem.  It sounds like you and Ivalou have a good plan.  I thought about trying to do something like that with our church group but decided it would be too much to keep up with as we sometimes have 15 or more folks go after church.

Not much on the schedule today.  I enjoyed a quiet day yesterday, although stayed very busy all day working on some computer projects.  We do have somewhere to go this morning as we usually do on Saturday morning.  Then will probably spend the rest of the day resting and waching football and working on my laptop computer.

Good  Morning: I don't think I posted yesterday, but maybe I did.  It was sure a long day yesterday. Cliff slept until about 11:30AM so I finished tying my baby quilt. But the time I was to leave a friend of his was there and life son had come to relieve me.

The tiring part of my day came when I was at the other job hemming some pants for the client and the thread on the machine kept breaking. The machine needs servicing It took me about 2 hours to do 2 pr of pants, of course I was getting up and down because I was so frustrated and doing other things.

I did find out that since Cliff had the second brain tumor removed 5 weeks ago another  has shown up. How sad is that? don't answer that.

Today I am taking it easy and doing a few things around the house. I may or may not use the weed eater  and mow. It is supposed to rain tonight.

Liz I am sorry to hear you have not been well, it is nice that Wendy wants to organize a neighborhood barbecue.

Jane how are you doing? Did you get your tests done?

Hi Larry, Etta Sue. Pat and everyone else.

Good morning! (so far) ... I managed to get to the right place on time yesterday morning and endured experienced the esophogram and was out of there by 9 a.m.  Of course, the first thing I did was to get some breakfast!  Then I did a little shopping (very little) and came home with a splitting headache.  I don't usually have headaches so that was a surprise.  I felt washed out and napped, off and on, the rest of the day.  Don't ask me why that simple procedure should leave me in such a condition ... maybe it wasn't the procedure after all, but just delayed reaction to the long drive from Spokane a couple days earlier.   :-\  The radiologist will read the tests and send a report to my doctor by Tuesday, so I won't hear the results until then.  Hopefully there is a cause -- and cure -- in the offing.

When I was checking in, yesterday, an OLD man came beside me to also check in.  He was asked his birthdate, as I had been, and he responded 1936 .... He's a year younger than I am and looks at least ten years older!  Wow, what a surprise.   :o

By the way, Liz, I am sorry you have been feeling poorly ... I surely know what you mean, though.  I have other friends who have been, and are, feeling the same way.  D'you think it's something in the water?   ::)   ;)  We just have to keep on keeping on, as my mother used to say.  It will all be better by and by....  Yeah, right!   ???

Since I was away from a computer for four days I got behind in SeniorNet as well as here.  Well, I caught up here, but haven't even been to SN yet.  I just don't feel like posting, and even sitting here to read is more than I choose to do sometimes.

Marilyn, I think I answered your question above.  The tests are done (for now) and I am awaiting the results.

I've got to see about getting something done around here today so ... I'll be back.

All y'all have a great day for yourselves and never forget that I'm praying for each of your needs.  Our God is an AWESOME God!      <3

Good afternoon!  Long day so far for me even when getting out of bed late.  First off, I left my sunglasses in Kitty's car the other night.  Glad they didn't fall out.  They are the same as my glasses and magnetize to my frames.  I couldn't see something with them on so I took them off and put them in the arm rest on the door.  When I called her, I was relieved that they didn't fall out...couldn't remember if the hole had a bottom or not.  So I went there for my sunglasses and came home to mow my yard.  I have a high/low yard.  Some places the grass is very high and some places it is very low.  And I am already starting to lose some leaves!  I guess today is the first day of Fall!

Now it is time to get a shower.  Tonight the local Lion's Club is having a Spaghetti dinner so I called Ivalou to see if she wanted to go.  She's gone so I left a message.

That's it in my world!

Oh, yes...Larry!  Have you thought of alphabetical choosing for you church group?  First name or last...?  That's quicker than drawing from 15 straws for the shortest one!!

Hi everyone.  It is an overcast and hopefully not too hot of day here in Georgia.  I am ready for church and we will leave in about an hour.  Our choir director is to be back this morning so the choir will be singing the anthem.  We have it prepared even though we didn't practice last Wednesday evening.  She always has us work ahead a few anthems.  I am sure we will be going out to lunch and then later this afternoon need to take our Saturn up to the garage and leave it for the repair to be done tomorrow.  That will be plenty for one day.

Gord, congrats on the new grandchild.  I remember what an exciting time it was when our grandchildren were born.  Glad you could be there to see the new child so soon.

Etta Sue, even the alphabetical listing would be difficult because the group shifts from week to week and someone would have to keep track.  We always manage to come up with a place to eat so it isn't a big problem.  Glad you didn't lose your sunglasses.  It is so easy to misplace things but at least you knew where to look when you missed them.

Jane, glad your tests are over and we will be praying for good results this week.  It sounds like your body is telling yourself to slow down a little a rest up from your trip and other activities.

Marilyn, I am sure you were probably ready to pull your hair out fighting that sewing machine.  Certainly sad to read that another brain tumor has appeared for Cliff.  I was glad to see you were 100% positive that you either were or were not going to use your weedeater.  This way you get to check that off your daily list as completed regardless of what you do.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning It looks like I am first this morning. I had a very good nights rest and i feel great today, I sure needed that. I even have rollers in my hair.

We are having a special service this morning and the conclusion to the semon "Expecting the Miraculous." At he end of the service we will alll be laying on hands and praying each other to receive the miraculous.

Congratulations Gord on yor first grandchild.

Etta Sue I hope you enjoyed your spaghetti dinner. One of the local stores is having a big sale on fresh fish. I bought an Alaskan Salmon steak and grilled it in my George Foreman grill. It was so thick that it took longer than it would in a pan on top of the stove. I think I should have baked it. Anyway I had a big salad and curried brown rice with it and a white nectarine and 3 strawberries for dessert. I had that for a late lunch and a bowl of cereal for supper.

Wow only 5 posts yesterday. I just went back to check. Jane I pray for good results onyour tests. Liz How are you feeling, Hello Papa John!!

Must go now.

ps Hi Larry, I didn't use the weedeater yesterday now it is on my list for tomorrow along with my recycling, and mowing. Those are all I have planned for tomorow.

Yawn......oh, hello there!  I got home at 2 this morning, and am really feeling hung over from lack of sleep. But the Women of Faith event was really wonderful, we had 46 women on the bus from our town and a neighboring town.  We shared, sang, visited, prayed for each other, so the trip went pretty fast.

The speakers were awesome ----Beth Moore for the pre-conference, Luci Swindoll, Carol Kent,Shiela Walsh and several others, plus Sandi Patti to sing.  We had Christian drama, which was wonderful, and so much more.  My head is too fuzzy to think of much of it right now.

Anyway, now I am leaving to go to Albuquerque with Diane, Jeff and Abby for the birth of my new great grandbaby!!  They will induce Toni's labor in the morning, and she and Curtis want us there, including ME.  Isn't that sweet?  This will be quite the week again, as I have to get packed for the Pennsylvania trip as soon as we get home Tuesday--leaving early Friday! :D  Puff, puff....

I have read all your good posts, and will catch up again when I get home.  I send my condolences to you and your family, Alma, and will be praying for you in these tough days. Hugs to you.

I must run--have to be in Hugoton in 45 minutes

Good afternoon!  Church was awesome today.  Both sermons were about the gifts that God gives us through the Holy Spirit to serve God and His church.  Great sermons.

The spaghetti dinner was really nice and I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen for a long time.  That was a plus.  I think I was still full of spaghetti this morning... ???

I just looked at my calender and I don't have a thing I have to do until Oct 2nd!  Unlike Janet who is flitting around like a butterfly!

Good afternoon on this first day of fall with a temperature of 90 degrees in sunny Tennessee.

We had some excitement during our second service today.  Seated immediately in front of us was a group of several little girls.  We have some triplets, three little six year old girls who all look exactly alike.  Their mother sat right next to Cornelia and  when she got to looking and only two of the triplets were there.  She whispered to them and asked where their sister, Molly, was.  They didn't know.  And so they began the search for Molly.  The mother and dad went out searching.  Several friends went out searching and one of our ministers looked over the congregation and went to the balcony looking over the crowd looking for molly.  By now the parents were frantic.  We were having communion and as soon as it was finished, Chris, our preacher got up and announced that Molly was missing and he asked if anyone had seen her.  Little Molly, way back in the back stood up and raised her hand.  She was there all the time with a friend.  There was a great sigh of relief from those of us who knew what was going on.  Chris had her come up and he picked her up and carried her out into the hall to her parents.

With all that goes on with missing children these days this was a very happy ending.

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red brown yellow black and white
They are precious in his sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Thanks, Papa John.  I didn't remember that today is the first day of fall.  Surely does look that way, with all the change of color and things starting to fade in the garden.  Misty, my cat, is walking around in her thick winter fur coat and seems to be enjoying the crisp air.  I am so glad that your interesting story had a happy ending.  The poor parents must have been frantic.

Yest. was a most lovely day.  The barbecue was a total success and lots of the neighbors came with their children (big and small), happy, friendly attitudes, plus a beautiful large golden poodle.  Marie, the lady whose daughter died from annorexia, was actually the one who wanted to do this because of all the support they were shown from the neighbors.  So Wendy went out with her and walked the area with invitations and a big smile.  This was very hard for Wendy to do physically and must of been very hard for Marie, both because of her sadness, and Wendy walking so slowly.  I think that God had a large hand in all that has been happening with this project.  It helped Marie, she and Wendy have bonded and Wendy certainly needed to spend time with people again.  It helped the neighbors to all get over a very bad taste left from the elderly Christian couple who owned the house next to the kids for many years.  Could write a book on that one, but the lovely people who bought the house, the courage of Marie and her family, the wonderful Christian spirit they show and practice, all prove that God is working and very much present in our lives.

Thanks for asking Marilyn, I am not feeling great but doing the best with what is there at the moment.  On a new med. to take with the others  to help the problem (s) and so will hope it works and more tests are not called for.  Hate tests!!  The kids are going to meet my doctor and she has agreed to having them as patients, since we are family.  Know they will like her as she is a real lovely person....who also likes cats ;)  Their doctor is a long drive away and messed up with Wendy so badly, no longer worthy of their trust.  So, again, God has answered prayer.  I feel that Amanda will get the care she has been needing and that will be a big help in her life.  So, as Jane would say, God is Good!!

Did not know how bad the water shortage is in Calif. until the minister from Hour With Power made this little joke about the Baptists now having to Sprinkle, and the Catholic folks now praying for the wine to be turned back into water...... ::)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Tonight is better than last night I am doing fair to middling right now.

Gord congratulations on the grand baby!!!

No Pat I see.  She is at a conference in Guelph with a friend.

Heather is teaching HTML to Kassie.  She works too fast to get it right written down, but when she was talking to Heather she got the lesson completely.  It is a problem telling her to slow down.  She doesn't have "slow" in her vocabu;ary till it comes to dishes!.

When John called earlier, he was in Wisconsin, and parked for the night.  He is tired as I kept him awake last night with all my tossing and turning.  I really felt sorry for him.

One benefit to not sleeping at night is that it gives a time of uninterrupted prayer.  No kids saying "Hey Mom" as I am praying.  Mind you I love those words.

Must go will be back tomorrow.
Love and prayers for all the needs here.
