Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I was showing my brother today how I can scan slides with my scanner and this is one that we experimented with...

From the top of Snowdon Mountain
Snowdonia, North Wales

You can see a path on the left side coming up over a hill about midway just above the top lake in the photo and then winding it's way till it separates into two--one going the high route and one along the shore of the next lake.  We took the high route to where we are now taking the photo.

And once on top of Snowdon, you'll find that a train comes to the top of the mountain for those who don't want to walk up!

This train is a cog railway.  It's the only cog (rack) railway in Britain.

Here the train is going back down with the passengers wishing to board!  We saw so much trash at the top of the mountain and there is a coffee shop there where refreshments could be purchased!  :o  (Too much tourism for Jack and I!)

An interesting site about this railway

Oh I like these, they show what was a very long time ago, but only the items of man have aged. The items of God are all still as they were in the old pictures.

More great photos, Pat!  I agree with you, in that I like going places where things are still natural, and not covered with trash and tourist traps.  We have been to some pretty primitive places, but we like them!

Pat ~ I love the photo's, of course I love anything mechanical! The view is spectacular also. I haven't mentioned it before, but my Grand - dad on my mothers side's family migrated to the United States from Wales. He use to tell me about how his family was descended from Bartholomew and after a fight within the family left England and went to Wales and took up the banner of the Fighting Cock and from that became known as the Babcock's! I wish I had recorded all he told me because I have forgotten so much! I do know his father had read the Bible through many- many times and lived to be in his 80's which was a feat in itself in the early days of the 20th century. Grand-dad only lived to 67, but had a drinking problem that shortened his life.

Spectacular scenery.  I would much rather go on a vacation full of scenery than one full of buildings and people.  I have been in places out west that I wonder if there has ever been anyone else standing where I was standing and if so, who was it?  I have been where if you screamed, no one would hear you.

Those are very interesting photos Pat.  What time of year were these taken.  I would love to hiking over there.  do they have wild animals or snakes you have to worry about when hiking?

Pat

Hi Sonja...

No we've never been bothered by any snakes or wild animals while hiking over there...maybe just the odd bull in a field!  HAHAHAHA!

Thanks Jerry...  That is an interesting railway.

I just love it over there.

Snowdon

Wainwright[famous walker in the UK] once wrote only the valleys change the mountains stay the same for ever.

I took the lazy route long ago to the top of snowdon my son was very young and even now he is not into backpacking.

Bulls!  I asked the farmer about the bull in the field he will not harm you he told me.  I kept my eye on him crossed into the next field and this sheep charged me with horns down.  No laughing please this is serious stuff here!

Really nice photos Pat.

Pat

HAHAHA! Alan, that's so funny about the bulls and the sheep!  We've been in fields sometimes on hikes where we were a bit leary about the sheep as well.

Glad you liked the photos, Alan and Jen. It sure is wonderful country!
