Toronto affectinately calls it the Red Rocket.
I shot this on a Saturday evening in Downtown Toronto.
I processed it in photoshop, using the radial blur filter to get that motion effects.
Thanks to the digital technology.
Downtown Toronto.....Memories. As a child I would take the bus then subway and finally the streetcar to go to choir practice. As a 9year old there was little to no fear. Now this many years later I wouldn't let my teens do what I did! Our dad was a TTC operator, because of that connection I would stay near the driver, or whistle blower.
Excellent picture. really shows the "Rocket" at the speed they seem to go!
Thanks, Judy.
You struck a chord when you mentioned that your Dad was a TTC operator.
Two years ago, I retired from TTC after 31 years of service.
I worked in the Paint Shop Section, doing graphics and signage.
Part of my job was maintain the graphics on old wooden TTC streetcars.
Why in the world would they call it "Red Rocket" LOL
That's a great effect. Really neat. I'll have to try that out myself. Thanks.
That's a real sense of rapid motion! Great job.
Not likely you would have heard about Dad...His nickname was the "Beeman" or the "Preacher" He retired in 1976 I believe it was. He always said that he didn't know how he had time to work!
Great pp...Love the motion! 8)
Hi Judy,
I started my job in TTC on October 26, 1976. Your Dad must have retired already by then.
I figured that. Have a good day.
