I've been using the long end of the zoom lens on my Panasonic FZ38, some shots looking across Darwen.

Looking due esst from my kitchen window towards Pickup Bank, or Pickabonk, as its locally called, well actually this is Belthorn hill, Pickabonk is more over to the right. There was this dramatic light touching the power station at Goosehouse, supplies electric and steam to the Crown Paints factory.

This picture shows the top of the hill and Belthorn village itself. I had to more or less machine gun pictures to get one or two sharp, as I was pointing the camera out of an open window, without any camera support, light like this doesn't stay around for any length of time, grab it before its gone.

Walking down Lynwood Avenue, I'm actually on the same side of the street as those houses. This is looking out towards Guide in Blackburn, and is more or less an industrial estate right the way out there, all the white units look fascinating as you walk down Lynwood, and it is only when you use the telescoping effect of the long end of a zoom lens, does it gain impact.

Lastly I used the same technique when I came out of the health center to shoot the academy building across town center, before catching the bus again.

You look like you live in a lovely town.  The light on the power station is quite dramatic.  That building with the cone shaped roof is quite intriguing!!!

Wonderful views of the town.  Maybe when I grow up I'll learn how to see and take shots like these.   ;D
