Between heavy downpours this afternoon, I found this discarded and very colourful umbrella reminded me of a Maple leaf, there is a leaf by the umbrella. I had just got off the bus from the health center when I couldn't but help notice this colourful motif sitting on the wet pavement in town center.
What a convoluted day today, Margery didn't answer the phone this morning, only one answer to that, she's come into town and gone for dinner to Derwent hall, I got off the bus and went there myself only to find she wasn't there, phoned her up she was at home and wasn't coming out.
My bandages had been put on a little too tight on Friday, its hurting my knee with the pressure, so had a painful walk down to Derwent hall, got in sat down for a while. What do I do now thought I, shall I attempt to walk it up to the health center, or walk back to the circus. My knee felt so weak that either way a flat on my face fall was a likely event. Well I decided to take the short track along the river Darwen and at least have a look at the remaining fall colours, I did that with a lot of trepidation, however I was well rewarded with a pot of gold in the shape of this tree that seemed to be the only one left standing bearing autumn leaves.
I got to the circus, just as the health center bus was pulling out, had half an hour to wait for the next, I thought well I'll just have to roll in a little late. Then I remembered in my hurry to catch the bus from home into town, I'd cleanly forgot to brink my dressings, got in to the health center a few minutes early. "What are you doing here?" said Caroline on reception, you're on drop in tomorrow, "But I've got Monday on my card, here have a look." I did have Monday on the card, but the date was the 19Th not today the 16Th. Oh well at least I didn't need the dressings I'd forgoten to bring with me. sat in the bus shelter, watched the pain pelt down, bus didn't turn up, half an hours wait, got to the circus, what greeted me was this super coloured umbrella broken and battered by the wind, and discarded by a rubbish bin, the pavement was lovely and wet, what a picture opportunity, photographed it on film and digital. so like I say a bit of a convoluted day.
On my way from the bus to Derwent hall I cut down a backstreet, back Duckworth street, and noticed the shadow of this tree set on this pebble dash wall which proved to be the start of a photographic afternoon.
Summicron, you certainly did have a "convoluted" day! But that was lucky for us - we got to see more of your photos! :)
It is nice to get some lemonade out of the lemons.
