It has been so long since I have posted any photos on here.  Hope I remember how. 

This morning I went to church to take pictures.  This one I did the HDR effect on it.  I took 4 photos with different exposures.  Then Corel PSPP X2 has an HDR area when you upload the photos.   Next you Align them and then adjust the Brightness and Clarity.  I like the effect it does. 




Then I went inside and took photos.  I took several of different things but I especially like the stained glass windows at Clarksville Christian Church. 




Then in our Sunday School classroom someone gave this stained glass to the church.

Pat, I use PhotoBucket and I had these 500 pixels on the longest side and less than 75 kbs.  Why are they not that now???

Etta Sue, all of them say 500 pixels on the longest side.

So, not sure what you're seeing.

I think I corrected them.  PhotoBucket must be different than it used to be or I am having Senior Moments!

Thanks for those, Etta Sue.  Reminds me of the days when I took my lunch hour and went down into San Jose and went into the Episcopal church there.  Beautuful stained glass, quiet, wonderful place to just sit and contemplate.

That picture in the middle is my most favorite! Next is the third, then the first. I love the quaint look of the outside of the church. But the sunshine coming through that stained glass window and causing the pews to gleam is priceless!

Etta Sue, I really loved visiting your little church.  Thanks for the experience.  You did a great job of photographing and I am sure these photos will go over very well with the congregation when you use them with PowerPoint.

Gee, I feel like a pro photographer now!!  Not really but you guys sure pumped me up!!

Etta Sue, the first picture from the outside so reminded me of the little Christian church where I grew up in our little town.  We didn't have any stained glass windows however and the seats weren't padded.  My wife and I had an evening wedding in our little church as she had attended church there with me the two years we were dating while I finished college.

There are eight stained glass windows in the santuary.  Two are the size of the second picture.  The others are single windows.  And since the congregation faces east on Sunday mornings, the windows are really brilliant when the sun is shining and even outstanding when the sun isn't shining. 

I really missed stained glass windows when I was attending Park Chapel.  They didn't even have a cross and Clarksville has a beautiful cross behind the pulpit. 

Yeah, I really like my new home...my little church.

The little Baptist church where I grew up had the most beautiful stained glass windows I have ever seen!  One I remember had the cross and the crown; there was Jesus blessing the children, Jesus' baptism.....oh, they were beautiful!  How I wish I had photos of those windows!  The church was very old and very small, and was later moved out into the country, after the windows were removed (and kept by those lucky enough to be around and have enough "pull") and abandoned to fall apart.  I loved that little church with the lovely windows and the bell tower, with a real bell rung by pulling on a rope!  Thanks for the memories.

Pat and I plan to do each others hair today, don't know yet what time.  And I think I will attend the little boy's funeral.  I learned yesterday that both the 7 year-old brother and the mother saw the little guy get run over.  How awful.  The little one took off on his bike toward the highway; (they lived only two blocks from it), the older one was yelling at him to come back, saw he wouldn't; ran screaming for the Mom, she ran and screamed at him to stop, and he rode right out in front of the semi.  I cannot imagine the horror for both of them.  Both boys had just gotten the bikes for Christmas........

So sad....a great reason to teach little ones the meaning of 'No' and 'Stop'! 

Hi Etta Sue:  Love the photo of your little church.  It reminds me of that wonderful old song: "Church in the Wildwood" - remember that?  I bet you do!

Is this where you are worshipping now?  It must be quite a change from the large church you attended before.

Janet:  How sad, to be attending a funeral for a child.  How does one ever get over something like that.  That poor mother.

Judy McKenna!!  How very nice to see you here!  I have missed you; how are you doing?

Yes, it was a very hard funeral, for everyone in attendance.  The grandma sang, can you even imagine?  She is one of the strongest, bravest people I know!  She sang "My Life is in Your Hands" and it was the perfect song.  The first line says 'Sometimes life is good, sometimes it's so hard.'  Lou Ann said she just had to do that for her daughter.

The poor truck driver had to be taken to emergency, it really was tough on him.  He is 62 years old, and I'll bet he was imagining his own grandchildren.  They had to cremate the remains, the only thing recognizable was his little feet. 

The kids had/have been taught the meaning of NO, but Ethan was a strong-willed child, and his Mom said if you told him a thousand times not to do something, he would do it anyway, regardless of the punishment.  He was totally fearless.  And just days from his fifth birthday.

I need to paint on a little trunk for my painting group meeting next Saturday.  I have had it here for months, but have procrastinated until the last minute.  Shame on me.    Bet I get it done, though.  This is the meeting where we return each other's items that we paint for them.

Darrel has cooked up a pot of pinto beans and ham, and they sure smell good.

Judy!  How great to see you posting!  How are you?  And yes, I am worshiping at this little church now.  One it is where Ivalou goes to church and two the gas was getting too high in July.  I changed my membership in September.  The first Sunday without turning my head I could count 30+ people that I knew their names, their parents or their kids and where they lived.  I am much more involved in the activities here and I love it!  

The minister had two heart attacks the first part of December.  He hasn't been back to visit.  I look for him to be there tomorrow.  He wasn't to do anything for a month.  Four weeks will be Tuesday this week.  He is only 56.

Etta Sue, these images are lovely.  They make me want to be there.

One of the things I love best about these little churches, in so many of them the accoustics are just incredible.  I love to sing in them.
