The powers that be that govern us from Blackburn decided to move the health center from this site in the center of Darwen, stick it up a hill, so the elderly and infirm become defendant on a bus service to get there. Then they wanted to preserve the old technical school and redevelop it as apartments. Furthermore, they decide that the land on which the highly convenient health center was located on could be developed as more luxury apartments. Guess what? They erected all the steelwork, built part of the walls, gutted the old tech, did a lot of internal work, then ran out of cash. The result is what you see here, a rather excellent copy of the No 4 reactor at Chernobyl, pity its not leaking radiation. I just wish they'd stop vandalizing Darwen.

There was a building in Toronto that was left half done.  The builders didn't have the necessary building permits.   I never did find out what happened to it.  It was left looking like the one above without the brickwork.

It is always a shame when this type of thing happens.

Judy, I think you were thinking of The Bayview Ghost. I traveled many times down the Don Valley Parkway and saw it abandoned and silent.
