I'm not fond of these but with the right lighting, Starlings can display some interesting color patterns.

I thought so too Jeanne. But my poor eyes see it as "green". :-\
Starlings can be such a nuisance, but they also can be great pets.
You have some lovely images here, the "eye" focus is great.

Very nice captures, buddy! I'm not crazy about starlings either :clobber: but, they are so photogenic at times it's hard not to like them if for only that reason.

It's greenish on mine, too....if using oil paints I'd call it a "Thalo green", iridescent, with a touch of blue. :thumbsup: We raised a couple of starlings.... the kids were always bringing babies they found on the ground after a storm or in this case, one was in an oil field where my youngest son was working for the summer (thanks to his friend's dad that ran the company). The baby was covered in oil, I discovered this 16 year old boy scrubbing oil off behind the house when he got home. Little did I know that the dish washing soap he was using would later become a common tool with oil covered birds in the Gulf.
"Freckles" didn't remain alone very long, the same son caught one of the kids down the street carrying a baby in his pocket, "going to feed it to their cat". I didn't ask how he convinced the kid to turn it over to him, but we had another to join Freckles in the cage. We already had one large cage that held a Bebe parrot and a bluejay (another rescue).
The starlings & bluejays are scavengers so would eat anything, people food or bird food, but I was determined to teach them to bug hunt. We would go out in the yard, me with the fly swatter and the young birds following me to see what new foods they found in their mouth. Pooh, the jay, wanted no part of staying outside if we came in, Pooh's favorite food was roast and mashed potatoes.
They fly long before they pick up food, how parents get the kids to follow them into the trees (bribery). They would fly all over the neighborhood and land at anyone's feet or land on their head or shoulder. As soon as it started getting dark they would be waiting at the garage door to come inside for the night. One managed to learn to talk to the wild birds, so only one stayed inside for the winter, joining the bluejay in a cage.
Come spring I started swatting grasshoppers (we lived on a country road), the starling loved them but the jay ran to the corners of the cage to get away from the grasshoppers, no wild game for Pooh. I didn't know I was poisoning Freckles with contaminated bugs.... the farmers were spraying, poor Freckles got weaker & weaker. Wasn't until a neighbor mentioned having to take her cat to the vet because the the same sounding illness... it also thought grasshoppers were a delicacy. Pooh, the jay, didn't get sick and lived for 8 years.
OK, so I must be color challenged! ;D
I see an aqua green.

If you prefer blue my lady, then blue is cool 8) and it's doubtful the starling knows the difference.
