Title: Beautiful day and BIF
Post by: jimiam on January 05, 2011, 11:46:39 AM
Yesterday, I had the wrong lens with me but was able to capture a couple of gulls in flight against the sky. Heavy crops with 100mm lens shot at f2.5 and 1/2000 shutter speed. I'm not sure which gulls these are so id would be nice if anyone is familiar with them.  Enjoy.

Thanx folks, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I do wish I'd had a longer lens though.
It was the best opportunity I've had for BIF shots.
Gary: There were a couple of turkey vultures there too so I tried scaring them your direction.  :D Nahh, I got a couple of shots of them as well but they were quite a bit higher and I had to REALLY crop them for worthwhile shots.
I've tried to find them in my books and on the net, but no luck with either as yet and I just don't see a lot of gulls around here to be familiar with thier naes.
