Looks like an adult, breeding, Red-necked Grebe.  That's according to my Sibley Guide to Birds book.

Thanks. I did several searches before asking for help. You are both right. It is a red necked Grebe. I was able to prove it to myself using what bird? A buddy had given me that sight before, and I have used it before. I just could not remember the name of it. Thanks to both of you.

He is a good looking bird. This photograph was shot at Hauser lake North of Coeur d' ALene, Idaho

What bird is a fun site!  I have it marked as a favorite, and didn't even think to tell you to look there; just looked for it in my book.  That way I learn, too!  :)

Nice shot, by the way.  I like how he's coming into the shot and it's not cramped.  He's got room to move.  Nice catch light and colors, too.
