I saw many birds at the Asa Zoo on Monday, but this was my favorite!

Interesting crop.  What's with the diagonal lines in the background?  Was that post processing or just the result of the blurring background?

Carl,

That is how it came out, shot at F6.3.  The bokeh on the 135 F2L is great.  And the wiring around the bird card gave it that effect.  And the crop...with a beak like that, I just couldn't resist going for some good diagonals.  ;)

Jane,

I fell in love with this beautiful creature.  God is amazing how he has this stork "puttin' on the ritz".

Gripped,
Kevin

ahhh...the cage...I couldn't figure out what was causing that effect.  Makes sense!

How did you not pick up the cage in the front of him? Were you shooting through the wire or what?

Marilyn,

I was IN the cage, on a walkway that runs through the cage.  The "cage" is actually called an aviary, which in essence is a big cage. :)

Thanks for taking a look!

In His Grip,
Kevin

What a beak!

I really like that shot, Kevin.  I was interested in the diagonal lines as well.   ^-^
