The first two are northern shovelers. They stop in every year, but they don't stay long.
You are right this duck did leave better ripples! You were in the right place at the right time for sure!

These are handsome male wood ducks. The male mandarins' plumage is even more elaborate!
My they are beautiful.
Kevin have you an example of a male mandarin?
