We have had a tremendous amount of moisture this summer, and the feed is good everywhere.  So I was surprised to see that the elk have started to come down to the low ground already.  Last night there were two elk calves down on the Musselshell River along the highway.  No adults in sight, so maybe these two got separated from their dam and the rest of the herd.
