That is a very good picture Juanital, I really like this picture.
How many different birds do you feed? I'll bet it is expensive to buy all the bird seed.
Thank you Elizabeth and Judy!!!
It really isn't a whole lot, Judy...we get our feed from the mill-bout 10 pounds of thistle for the finches...4 lbs of sunflower seeds, 4-6 cakes, depending if the starlings come in and raid them...Average 20 a month...Sometimes I will leave the thistle bags empty for a few days to a week+ because there's lots on the ground...Gold finches mostly eat from the bags, but don't go on the ground as much as the house finches...Then we have one of those 50 lb bags of your generic bird seed, we've been working on that for at least 4 months...It is worth the bird watch...and fun...you can see their personalities...You start seeing them pair up, bring their babies in, watch them feed...Most of the birds are beginnig to molt, now...
Juanita
Cool!
I would love to start that up but there are more pressing items that we have to tend to. Perhaps next year will be better!
