Beautiful.   I was telling John about that camera last night.   You know they are in flight, and it is great to see how they hold their wings while they are  "in flight".  Great shot.

The HS-10 is a marvelous camera, Judy, BUT... the HS-20 comes out in late March/early April and if it's anything remotely what they are saying it's going to be, it will be something to behold.  I'm going to wait on the user input from several forums before I make a jump.  But, I have a feeling I'll be making the jump to the HS-20.  http://www.fujifilm.com/news/n110105_03.html

The refurbs are going for $300 now.  MSRP new when I got mine was $500.  Worth every dime!

Those sock feeders are super for the finches. They're really impressive loaded with the goldfinch males
in spring/summer. That last shot reminds me of a sobriety test I took once, many years ago. (thank you Jesus) Good shots Gary.

Judy, I guess he's not offering much of a bargain after all.  I'll have to pass.  Just got property tax bill and a bill for a quarterly payment on homeowner's insurance.    Oh, shucks.  Who needs to eat, anyway!   ;D

B&H has the HS10 for $339 brand new.

They are a marvelous camera and a lot of bang for the buck.

I've been looking at the Panasonic Lumix compact.  http://panasonic.net/avc/lumix/compact/zs7_tz10/index.html

I like the sound of the Leica lens and the price is coming down.  I like also the feature of GPS and I'd only use that for the first photo of a shoot as it does take battery power more than without it.  So often I wonder where I was when I took a photo and this would be great if it would help with that.  And I want RED or BLUE.  I just want a compact to carry with me at all times so that my Nikon D80 can stay at home unless I have a serious photo shoot.  So often I see something to take a photo of and I left the Nikon at home!  So, I want to have one in my purse all the time.

The ZS-7 is a marvelous camera for your purpose, Pat.  It works great for my in-car/pocket camera.  It has a great focal range, is outstanding for macros as well as informal people shots.  I keep mine in iAuto 90% of the time because I use it as a true P&S but it can go fully Manual.  The ONLY thing I'm not fond of is that it has no viewfinder.  In bright sunlight, the LCD is almost worthless.  I did, however, pick up a non-reflective LCD protector and that helps.

Thanks Gary...  I'll keep watching.  My friend in Norway on Photography Cafe (http://www.photography-cafe.com) has the Lumix and I'm in awe of some of her work.
