Kevin, that is a beautiful, beautiful shot!  We have a few of those around here, along with many, many Egrets.  I'd love to see a shot of either one taking off and flying.

yes a beautiful shot.  We have the great Blue heron here in the north, and often see them taking off or landing in the area of the beaverpond.  It seems to be a sanctuary for birds, secluded and yet close enough for the girls to enjoy.
