Beautiful spot on capture!
Did you use your 400mm and extender to get that close or was he fairly close to you when he flew by?

Hi,
Just the 400. I walk along the river bank looking for opportunites, and the herons tend to fly along the bank, too. This one was coming right at me from across the river, then slowly turned and flew parallel long enough for me to get off about 6 frames.
