I remember in 1961 going across from the mainland to Manitoulin Island with my parents.  There were so many sea gulls that the sky and sun was dimmed by them.  They would eat out of your hand.  Now there are, in comparison, few seagulls there.  The ones there don't eat out of your hand like they used to.
