Title: Mr. Personality!
Post by: gjtoth on April 06, 2011, 06:14:38 PM
Still playing with the HS-20 w/TCON-17 onboard.  Oh, and yeah, I know.  I chopped his tail off.   ::)

Sharp as a tack. Gary are you using a tripod or hand holding. Just wondering

Hi, Don.  I've got over 1200mm pointed at that bird through double-pane glass.  Yup, I'm using a tripod.  The IS system on the HS-20 is good but not THAT good.  Standard racked out on the HS-20 is 720mm and I can squeak by most of the time by bracing it against some sort of support.  But, add a 1.7X TCON-17 converter that gives me 1224mm and a tripod becomes mandatory.

Anything shot through two layers of glass in my windows would never come out so clear!  (Ya think it might help if I washed those windows?)

OK, I missed the 1.7X TCON-17 converter in the original post.

I'm impressed!
