Those are some weird ducks!
My dad raised muscovy ducks when I was a kid. Only later did I discover they are really wild ducks. The colors on their backs are not pigment (the feathers are black) but are caused by the surface of the feathers much as an oil slick produces rainbows when the light is right.
We raised 'em too. Ours were mostly white. But oh, so delicious when slow roasted in the oven. Wonderful with fresh-baked cornbread and dirty rice! :thumbsup:

Beautiful picture of the ducks, also I love the reflection of light on the rippl;es of the water.
I am hoping to have ducks this coming spring.....We'll see.

Dirty rice. Great stuff. There's a restaurant here in Dallas that does it right. Love that place. No duck, though.
