Well, I know I've been talking about all the birds in my yard. The past couple of years we had a dog in our yard, so this is the first spring/summer with birds coming to us and it is a delight for me. I thought I'd post one frame I took a few minutes ago that has several birds in it and that is just one spot under the feeder. I need to have my hubby move his wonderful barbque so I can get a better shot of that area.
It started with just a few couples. Well, it seem that they've all brought their new babies with them and have really bred well this year. They are in our trellis and in and on our vines, on our island, in and all around our small pond, in all the trees. My mom just asked if they might attack me if I go outside with no food for them. "THE BIRDS!"
Anyway, I still can't see too well today, so I hope this photo looks okay. It may be a little under or overexposed or a little soft, who knows? Maybe you can let me know. I got one mother bird feeding the baby, but even I could tell that one was blurry. They are in the shade a lot so it's hard to get the shutter speeds up without having them get grainy from a higher ISO setting.
I would like to post more of my beautiful yard and birds another time if you all would like to see more of it.

Ohh, those are lovely to see Kathleen. They all look very happy! :)
Where you in the house taking this photo?
They ARE happy, Pat! ;D
Yes, I took this through my window. Hand held with my 75-300mm. The tripod usually scares the birds. Maybe I'll set it up and leave it and they will get used to it. I'm trying to get my hubby to take out the screen in the upstairs laundry room so I can shoot without the window or screen in my way and also so I can get a different view from up above the birds. The first time I looked out that window, I saw all the birds on top of the vines and trellis and couldn't believe I didn't even realize they were there.
I am fascinated with birds. Perhaps because of the verses in the Bible that talk about God hiding us under his wing and the one about soaring like eagles! I just love those verses! They show that even though we are free to soar, God is always taking care of us and protecting us.
Do you get many different kinds of birds, Kathleen? These all look like sparrows to my untrained eye. For sure, if you feed them, you will soon have thousands of them!
This is my first year bird watching so I am not that familiar with them either, but the ones I've identified so far are:
Mourning Doves, House Sparrow, Dark-Eyed Junco, American Goldfinch, House Finch, and Cassin's Finch. Oh, and the red-winged black bird.
I still have more to look at and identify when I get the chance.
I hope to see more of your bird pictures, Kathleen! You sure have a lot of them. (not pictures; birds)
