My wife's cousin and I joined a group being taken for a three day raft trip by some outfitters down the Colorado River near Vail, CO, in 1982. I believe it was our first evening of camping alongside the river when I discovered this nest of Northern Flickers. I used my Minolta SRT 101, a 200 MM lens, and a 2X converter lens. I mounted the camera on my tripod and focused on the nest, and then I had to wait for "Mom" to get back with the groceries.
Now where's Mom? Didn't she say she would be right back with something to eat?

Me, Mommy! Me, me, me!
